Now Today's reason to party with Heidi Small. What's our
reason today?

Speaker 1 (01:05):
Today is a great reason. It is Supreme Sacrifice Day.
And this is someone who risks literally everything to help
someone else upwards to and including their own lives. So
these people are heroes. And I found a cocktail to
help celebrate this day called the Hero Sprits. It's got

(01:25):
grapefruit tequila, which I absolutely do. It's got prosecco, club soda,
lemon twist, and I think it sounds very refreshing and
very light. So that is the recipe to go with
Supreme Sacrifice Day.

Speaker 3 (01:39):
I got a feel and I know what Heidi's going
to be having. That is your reason to party on
this Tuesday, the eighteenth day of March.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
Radio Travelgroup dot com features so many amazing places that
we have personally been to this month. I want to
feature Panama City Beach, Florida. We stayed at a gorgeous
home right on the beach. This is perfect for business,
This is perfect for family getaways. This is perfect for
just a big friends get away. There are so many bedrooms,

(02:05):
it has a gorgeous view. This is something you have
to check out. If you have a big event coming up,
you won't be disappointed. See photos and a link at
radiotravelgroup dot com.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Now surveys and studies and Sach a psychologist, says that
as adults, it might be a good idea to take
up one of your childhood hobbies again why to escape stress?
A good doctor from the uh where's this doctor from
California State University at Los Angeles. They feel that if
an activity once brought you comfort as a child, it
may still have the same calming effect as an adult.

(02:39):
Do you have any hobbies you did as a kid.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
When I was a kid, I was in dance lessons.
I absolutely loved it. But there's no way I I mean,
I even tried one time with a friend. We went
and I remember that and took dance lessons again for
a little while. I'm not as young as I once was.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Limber right, Well, they're saying reconnecting with childhood hobbies can
be a valuable way for people in any stage of
life life to actually find more enjoyment by simply looking
for something fun to do. Recent study found that adults
who are playful or more positive about the future more
resilient in the face of challenges as well. The doctor
also points out that as you regain confidence with hands

(03:14):
on activities like crafts or coloring or painting, you may
feel encouraged to take creative risks in other areas of
your life, whether they be home improvements or whatever they
happen to be. So that's kind of cool. Yeah, I
like that, So get out there and do something fun.
Thanks for listening to surveys and studies and such the
Joneidi Show. Thank you for listening to The John N

Big Screen, A Little Screen. Neil Patrick Harris is the
latest A Lister to join Michael C. Hall in Dexter

(03:56):
a resurrection, premiering this summer on Paramount Plus with Showtime.
It's a spin off and it sounds like they've got
quite the crew, a bunch of people who have been
in a bunch of things. You're all going to be
a part of this thing now. And Netflix is getting
back in the ring Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano or
Serrano I believe, I say it. We'll square off against
each other in a rematch part of the historic trilogy

(04:17):
between the two. It is going to be live July
the eleventh on Netflix, and they're hoping that they can
actually make this one happen without it, you know, caunking
out like last time they were on the Fight that
night with Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, Remember that, okay,
and then they had issues. And Millie Bobby Brown is
not Millie Bobby Brown. The actress revealed that her real

(04:39):
name is not Millie Bobby Brown. It's Millie Bonnie Brown.
But somehow it became Bobby.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
It's because her father started calling her Bobby when she
was like z real estate or something. Yea, yeah, it's
just like a nickname.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
It says Chris. Pratt explained that she changed her middle
name to bon from Bonnie to Bobby for you know
what's and giggles. So Kay says here, I don't know,
big screen, little screen. On the John and Heidi Show,
my pillow is making people happy with their megasale save

(05:37):
you know that the bird on Twitter's logo has a name?

Speaker 1 (05:40):
I did, and I don't know what it is.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Think about it. Think about it. The infamous bluebird of
social media was named after an NBA player, Larry Bird.
Oh yeah, so that bird's name is Larry. Larry Bird,
for those of you who don't know, used to play basketball.

Speaker 1 (05:55):
And he was amazing.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Yeah, Boston Celtic and the Twitter co founder Biz Stone.
That's his home state, So that's why they came up.

Speaker 4 (06:05):
With that name.

Speaker 3 (06:07):
We don't know everything, but now we know. This time
now for the joke of the day from mis Heidi Small,
what do you have for us? Today.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Heidi, right, wife, I want another baby, husband, that's a relief.
I don't really like this one either.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Oh that's not nice. What are you doing coming up
with all these naughty like terrible as naughty. It's not naughty,
but they're all like anti kid jokes. What are you
trying to say over their Heidi, it's dark humor. Uh huh,
it's my favorites. They absolutely are. That is the joke
of the day on the John and Heidi Show.

Speaker 1 (06:36):

Speaker 3 (07:08):
Now you're Scoopa of the day. The oldest human being
in the world is one hundred and sixteen years young, Heidi.
Sister Ina Canbaro Lucas, a one hundred and sixteen year
old nun from Brazil.

Speaker 1 (07:21):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (07:22):
Yeah, that's pretty crazy. On her Tinder app profile, it
says she's forty six and the news broke late late
late last year, but now it's real. Reese's is set
to release a crazy new peanut butter and jelly peanut
butter cup in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 1 (07:39):
Don't mess.

Speaker 3 (07:40):
According to Footing an influencer, Snatch with Zach, I don't
know if that snack with Zack. Snack with Zach. Okay,
that makes more sense. It's h for because his last name,
his name, Zach is the ah. Snack with Zach that
makes a lot more snatch.

Speaker 1 (07:56):
The other website could be something completely different.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
He's an influencer, Heidi, He's not a no anyway. He
supplied pictures of the packaging. The new PB and J
cup will come in two flavors, strawberry and grape. No
release date has been announced yet, but they should hit
stores sometime in the next month or so. By the way,
Zach also says that Reesees is going to introduce a
new red velvet peanut butter cup sometime in the next year. Okay,

(08:22):
does that sound weird to you?

Speaker 5 (08:24):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (08:24):
I'm not. Yeah, just leave them alone.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
I don't know what these people are doing at Reese's.
But I actually this has been a year ago, maybe
two years ago. I went into in an evening. I
went into a convenience store one evening and I noticed
all of these different Reeses and I asked the guy
how many different Rieses skews do you have? And he
said over one hundred.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (08:45):
So I started snapping photos of them, and I was
going to post something on Facebook, you know, being silly,
and I don't think I ever did. S I just
had hundreds of photos of Reeses for no reasons, sad.
I was trying to show somebody a photo of our
daughter and our son on an airplane. I'm scrolling through
and listeners.

Speaker 1 (09:01):
No pictures of them, but lots of photos.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
You have a lot of photos of reesas done Ittas.
It must be a fan scoop of today on The
John and Heidie Show.

Speaker 1 (09:09):

Something we do every Tuesday just because we can. We
reach out to my father in law for a little
thing we like to call Tuesdays with Charlie Tuesdays.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
With Johnny Shy.

Speaker 3 (09:38):
Hey, we don't have to reach for it.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
You're here.

Speaker 4 (09:40):
It's another Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
It is another Tuesday, and Charlie is in the studio
and he's got some good stuff for us.

Speaker 4 (09:45):
What do you have for us today?

Speaker 5 (09:49):
Each year, Armarello, Texas hosts the world's largest calf fry
cookoff calffry.

Speaker 4 (09:55):
You know what calffries are?

Speaker 6 (09:56):
You mean like a catfish fry cap, like a b cowl.

Speaker 1 (10:03):
We both thought you said cat We're both like you.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
No, I wouldn't eat them.

Speaker 3 (10:08):
What is a calf wright, Charlie.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
It's the part that hangs down on the cow?

Speaker 1 (10:15):
Okay?

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Do you ever get any of them?

Speaker 3 (10:17):
I did with you one time. You made me try some.

Speaker 4 (10:20):
You liked it.

Speaker 3 (10:21):
They did not. I was like, you know, and and
there was all kinds of different animals there there's a
turkey or is there a bull?

Speaker 4 (10:31):
This is pig.

Speaker 3 (10:32):
I'm like, why would anybody purposely eat that part?

Speaker 4 (10:36):
That was? Ah? You coward, and I was like, oh,
they are all our fans out there. Love that.

Speaker 5 (10:42):
Yeah, they taste really good.

Speaker 4 (10:44):
That I got two number threes.

Speaker 6 (10:49):
Do the first number three the brain releases so much
to drop dope, dope, theygo dopamine during orgasms that the
brain scan resembles that of some on.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
Heron Oh heroin is the Is that?

Speaker 4 (11:06):
Karen ar?

Speaker 3 (11:10):
You need some help reading?

Speaker 4 (11:14):
That's why I got two number threes.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
Apparently, let's see if the other one is any better?

Speaker 4 (11:19):
Am I going to give that one?

Speaker 3 (11:20):
Yeh?

Speaker 4 (11:22):
Then you know who Seinfeld.

Speaker 3 (11:24):
Is, Yeah, Jerry Seinfeld, funny guy.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
He's earned over two point seven billion dollars since it
went off the air in nineteen ninety eight.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
Yeah, just in the reruns. Yeah yeah, and then it
was on Netflix for a while and they got a
bunch of money from that too, So well still on
is it still on there? We don't get residuals from
our show, I know, Well, there are no reruns, and
I don't know why. It's almost as though they didn't
even want to hear it the first time.

Speaker 5 (11:49):
I think I'm feeling bad. Yeah, no kidding, I was
looking for some residuals.

Speaker 4 (11:53):
Ear later on Okay, let's do the well, let's tradition,
all right.

Speaker 3 (11:58):
If do you have cable no, we used to know,
we have it for a while.

Speaker 4 (12:02):
Do you know that.

Speaker 5 (12:03):
Americans only watched seventeen of the one hundred and eighty
nine cable channels.

Speaker 3 (12:08):
Yeah, oh yeah, back we had it.

Speaker 1 (12:10):
Definitely the case when we had and if.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
There's a way to just have it where we only
had a few channels, we would have done that. But
they didn't let you do that.

Speaker 5 (12:17):
We kind of watch that. You know, we get nine
thousand channels, only watch about the same time anyway. Yeah, yeah,
So don't let these cable companies say you can get
two thousands, right, you're only going to watch three of them. Okay,
radio man, you're in the radio business, all right. Did
you know the most popular radio format in the US
is country music? I did know that, Like it's like

(12:40):
nineteen percent of all stations. Yeah, but rock music sells
the most.

Speaker 3 (12:45):
So whatever we do sells the least.

Speaker 4 (12:50):
Sometimes I drink a little too much, yeah and.

Speaker 3 (12:52):
Yeah with two number threes and one of whatever? That was, Gosh, that's.

Speaker 4 (13:02):
What is that better? That's all I got.

Speaker 3 (13:04):
That's all I was gonna say. I've been I've been watching.
I think that all you got was four things ago.
So well, Charylie, we're gonna see what you stand for today.
I've got some acronyms here. Oh you got to see
if you can tell me what these things stand for?
A T M. Do you know what that stands for?

Speaker 4 (13:20):
That's an ATM machine? Right? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (13:22):
But what is the A and the T and the M.
What does the stand Ford?

Speaker 5 (13:25):
You know, automatically take my money?

Speaker 3 (13:26):
I like this better automated teller machine. So when I
was close. Yeah, so when somebody says in an ATM machine,
they're saying it's the automated teller machine machine, which doesn't
make sense. Now, how about the CEO of a company?
What are those people? What does that stand Ford?

Speaker 4 (13:43):
You know? You know, a commander and organization? I don't know.

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Good job, Heidi, Holy cow. How about a d h
D the thing that I am riddled with? You know
what that stands for?

Speaker 4 (13:53):
I can't even spell that.

Speaker 3 (14:01):
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorders.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
With that, That's why I can't sproat.

Speaker 3 (14:06):
Yeah, there's a lot going on there. Well you got
one sort of with a whole lot of help. Well, Charlie,
thanks for coming in. It's always pleasure.

Speaker 4 (14:13):
I need a lot of help. Bye Fluff, Bye John Bye.

Speaker 3 (14:17):
My father in law right there. We talked to him
every Tuesday, just because we can. It's a little program
we like to call Tuesdays with Charlie. Have you heard

looking people like us made you throw up and feel
bad about yourself. That was such a ridiculous. It was
so ridiculous. And again I like dumb humor, and I

(15:13):
still thought it was ridiculous. It is ridiculous. That is
your quote of the Day on The John and Heidi Show.

News to Me with Heidi Small As we head to
the News to Me news desk Kiti, what do you have?

Speaker 1 (15:43):
Peanuts, walnuts, almonds, cashews, and pistachios are not nuts?

Speaker 3 (15:47):
Oh really, They're classified.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
As seeds because a nut is to find as a
hard shelled, dry fruit or seed with a separable rind
or shell and intern interior kernel. And apparently those are.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Not their legumes, right I don't know? So Wow, that's
news to me and it is also news to me.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Radio Travelgroup dot com features so many amazing places that

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Fun fact for you, Heidi, what's that?

Speaker 1 (16:45):
John?

Speaker 3 (16:46):
Technically speaking, brides don't walk down the aisle, they walk
down the nave. Yeah. Fun fact for you, Heidi, what's that?
One of the most widely used symbols for medical assistance
is actually the Swiss flag and not a medical symbol
at all. That's kind of cool. Fun fact for a Heiding.
The inventor of the light bulb, Thomas Edison, was afraid

(17:07):
of the dark. It's kind of fun.

Speaker 1 (17:10):
Well, that makes sense why you wanted a light bulb.

Speaker 5 (17:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:12):
Fun fact for a Heiding. Your eyeballs do not grow
or change size at all as you age, so when
you're a kid, that's the size your eyeballs are always
going to be. And our final fun fact for you, Heidi.
The bob sled was named so because early bob sled races,
they would bob their heads back and forth to gain speed.
It didn't work, but they tried that, so that's why

(17:33):
it's the Bob sled. Now you know several fun facts.
Now you know. Thanks for listening to the John and
Heidi Show. Now some weird news. Ever tried wearing an
Apple Watch on your ankle. Many people are doing that
these days, apparently, according to New York Times report, a
growing number of people are wearing it. Five main reasons why.
Some are kind of mundane. People with tiny wrists say

(17:54):
the watch is too loose, so during workouts they put
it on their ankle instead. Fair enough, Some people claim
they get more accurate step counts when wearing another ankle
than when they're wearing another wrist. Step counting relies on
the swinging motion of your arm, and if you don't
swing your arms, you don't count all the steps, but
you're swinging your legs all the time when you walk.
Others have wrist tattoos, and they reported their heart rate

(18:16):
readings are either unreliable or unreadable because interesting by the innk.
Some people with skin conditions say they found the Apple
Watch uncomfortable, but wearing it on their less sensitive skin
around their ankle, it actually is fine. So surprisingly common
issue reported by people who wear a smart watch on
their ankle is people thinking that it's an ankle monitor

(18:38):
and that they are that.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
They're in trouble. So that's the first thing that I
thought to do.

Speaker 3 (18:43):
That Just know that a lot of folks are not
going to realize that that's your watch.

Speaker 1 (18:46):
The very first place in my mind.

Speaker 3 (18:49):
So there you go. Weird news on the John and
Heidi Show. My pillow is making people happy with their
megasale save over fifty percent on this season's flannel sheets
Queen size fifty nine ninety eight, King only sixteen nine
ninety eight. They sell fast, so order now get the
six piece my towel set for only twenty nine ninety eight.

Speaker 2 (19:23):

Speaker 3 (19:23):
The question of the day, Heidi, I'm gonna let you
answer this, Maere four and five of us have done
this before, taking a long drive. What is it We've restroom,
no gone back in the house to get something we forgot.
We do that every time we go to leave somewhere.

Speaker 1 (19:36):
Yeah, every fault is it you?

Speaker 3 (19:39):
Yeah, it's always my fault. We'll get the cara on like, uh,
do you have the keys? Where the question he hates? Yeah,
that is your question of the day on The John
and Heidi Show.

Time now for something special with Heidi Small. Heidi, what
do you have today that's special?

Speaker 1 (20:07):
So do you remember Jack Handy?

Speaker 3 (20:09):
Oh yeah, yeah, okay on Saturday Night?

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Yes, the Deep Thoughts by Jack Handy. Oh yeah, I
looked that up and I found one that I thought
I would just share it because it makes me.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
He just makes me smile from mister Jack Handy.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
So he says, maybe in order to understand mankind, we
should have a look at the word itself. Mank and ined,
what do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's
why so is mankind?

Speaker 3 (20:42):
He was so clever, very clever, very bizarre, but very clever.
That is something special from my beautiful bride, Heidi Small.

Speaker 3 (21:21):
Time now for the list. And I want to say,
before I even go through this list, these are not
from me. This is not my opinion. Maybe we'll give
our opinion as well. But where not to take a
first date? I don't think this is fair? Number five
Olive Garden? What's wrong with olive Garden? I like olive garden,
endless breadsticks?

Speaker 1 (21:40):
And what's sas some where you live too?

Speaker 3 (21:42):
I mean for Chipotle? They say don't ever take a
first date to Chipotle? Why Chili's is number three? Two Applebee's?
Come on, you'd be eaten good in the neighborhood with
any of these, and then number one on the list, Heidi,
You're not gonna believe this. The cheesecake factory.

Speaker 1 (21:57):
Oh I love cheese.

Speaker 3 (21:58):
I knowed to TikTok users. Those are the top five
places that women do not want to be taken on
a first date. The top five are all major chain restaurants.

(22:48):
now from Baltimore Maryland, Heidi, a beloved doctor, was denied
cancer treatment, so his patients came to the rescue. For
nearly forty years, doctor Michael zollinkoffer affectionately no Doctor Z,
has been a beacon of kindness in his community. The
sixty six year old pediatrician never let money stand in
the way of care, treating patients, whether they had the

(23:09):
ability to pay or not. Now, after a cancer diagnosis
left him struggling to afford his own treatment, his patients
stepped up to return the favor. They say, doctor Z
always put people first. Forget that dollar bill. He often
told his patients, you walk in that door and you'll
be seen. You bring your grandma with you, I'll see
her too. He dedicated his life to helping people, taking

(23:30):
no real vacations and making himself available to patients twenty
four to seven. But then he was diagnosed with cancer
a few months ago, and there was a paperwork issue
with his Medicare plan that left him with no insurance
to cover his radiation treatments.

Speaker 1 (23:44):
Oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (23:45):
When the community stepped up and selfless leaders self lesslie
decided that it was their turn to take care of
doc Z. They launched to GoFundMe and they raised over
two hundred and twenty nine thousands. Oh, they say, Doctor
Z will not give up on you. You so we
be dang sure. We ain't given up on him. Despite
the hardship, Doctor Z remains overwhelmingly grateful. He said, I'm

(24:08):
thankful that I got cancer because I'm the happiest man
on the planet, no matter what the outcome. His voice
filled with emotion, he said, we have shown why we
are sitting at this table right now, and it's to
show America that this is what we're about. We're about giving.
I can't make it without them, nor can they make
it without me.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
That's beautiful.
