Surveys and studies and such, we automatically assume good people
share our political views and bad people oppose them, according
to new research, and that even happens with fictional characters
like Ironman and Thanos. According to a study published in
Political Science Research and Methods. They revealed that researchers call
this a motivated political projection that means we tend to
(02:40):
think that people who we like share our political views,
well those we dislike they must belong to that other
political camp, regardless of a character's other traits, gender, age, background,
any of that. Participants consistently project their own partisan identities
onto heroes while assuming villains support the other guys. Researchers
(03:01):
said this might explain why political division feels so hard
to bridge today. Here's the thing that I will tell you.
I try so hard to avoid politics on this program,
because no matter what you say, there are some things
that I've said where people go, I know what you
meant by that. I'm like, I meant exactly what I said.
I'm not trying to like read between the lines. I
(03:22):
try to avoid politics all the time, surveys and studies
and such on The John and Heidie.

Jigsaw will not be returning to theaters after all, at
(03:51):
least not this year. Saw XI, What is that? Eleven?
Eleven Yeah, has been axed from the calendar for this year.
The eleventh and star Almenassi. There was originally going to
open September twenty sixth, but Lions Gates said, now we've
got a different movie, The Strangers Chapter two. We're going
to put that out instead, and then we got this
other one that's going to sometime next year maybe, So
(04:12):
I don't exactly understand why they made that decision, but
they've got reasons. And YouTube hit a record of eleven
point six percent of all TV viewing in February. Eleven
point six percent of all TV viewing with Yeah, that's
pretty wild.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
Is that impressive?
Speaker 2 (04:26):
That's according to Nielsen the TV people. This top finish
was only YouTube second, largely due to Nielsen's methodology, which
groups together all platforms of the Disney Company. So there's
some people going.
Speaker 3 (04:38):
Well, well, that's not really fair.
Speaker 2 (04:40):
Yeah, but either way, it's pretty dog on impressive. And
David Ayer's blue collar drama A Working Man has declared
victory over Snow White, So there you go. It's it's
doing well in the theatas and the other one is
not doing so well in the theatre. It's not been
doing big screen, little screen on the John and Heidi show.

people had rap battles? Yeah, so before rap battles were
even a thing, there was something in medieval times called
flighting f L Y, T, I and G. That is
(05:43):
when two opponents would trade insults at each other, and
it was widely popular in the fifteenth and sixteenth century.
So they would really munch the stuff and then these
guys would say they're stuff, and these guys would say
their stuff, and then these guys would say their stuff.
And I only wish that I knew what kind of
stuff there is. I would love to see that at Yeah,
that is interesting. We don't know everything, but now we know.
(06:04):
This time out for the joke of the day from
my Beautiful bride, Heidi, what you got for me? Heidi small?
Speaker 3 (06:09):
Where do you find a dog with no legs?
Speaker 2 (06:11):
I don't know exactly where you left at. Oh, that
is the joke of the day. I notice they're getting
darker and darker by the way. We had a light
n these up a little bit. That'd be nice joke
of the day on the John and Heidi Show.

Speaker 2 (06:58):
Time now for the scoop of the day. It comes
your way at this time each day, and I've got
a new article here in Britain's Daily Mail. This is
taking part in this new trend. Heidi, could end up
being a thing that saves your marriage. It's called a
bathroom divorce. It's a similar concept to the recently coined
term of sleep divorce, where partners carry on their own thing,
(07:20):
but they each have a different room. Well, A bathroom
divorce involves each partner having their own bathroom which they're
able to use at their leisure, decorate the way they
want and clean to their personal whims, and maybe even spray,
you know, stuff that they want to spray in there,
or not anything at all. It seems that when a
couple each has their own personal sanctuary, there are no
arguments about how long are you going to be in there?
(07:43):
There's no lining up to use a shower, perhaps most importantly,
note fights about the condition the other person left the
room in Former First Lady Michelle Obama went as far
as to say that their separate bathrooms were a key
to the success in their marriage. Malania Trump, Joan Collins,
Sarah Michelle Geller, They've all shared similar sentiments in regards
to their marriages and their separate facilities. And I will
(08:06):
tell you this. I read this story like, I don't know,
two weeks ago, maybe three weeks ago, and I was
saving it because I wanted to practice this a little
bit and see, and I've been utilizing we've got two
bathrooms on the main foreigner house. I was usual, and
then I got yelled at from Heidi. So it's caused
a problem for me to do this.
Speaker 3 (08:24):
So if we had a designated bathroom that you could
use that was not designated the public bathroom, yeah, it
would be a different history.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Here's the thing. We have a hot tub, and I'll
after using hot tub, I'll hang up my swim trunks
and my my shirt and my rope.
Speaker 3 (08:37):
But when the master bedroom is done, you can use
the guest bedroom.
Speaker 2 (08:40):
So she said, She's like, why do you keep going
in that room? And I was like, well, I read
a thing where it's gonna be good for our marriage.
It's like, you were wrong, It's not good for our marriage.
We just stopped cluttering up that room. So once again
we marched to the feet.
Speaker 4 (08:53):
Of my own.
Speaker 5 (08:54):
This is the scoop of the day.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Thank you so much for listening to the John and

the John and Heidi show excited a visit with Lewis Ferrera,
and we know him from Breaking Bad, we know him
from the Saw movies, and now we know for something wholesome.
This is kind of cool. House of David on Prime Video?
And how does it feel to go from things like
(09:25):
Saw and Breaking Bad to one of the most amazing
stories ever told about.
Speaker 6 (09:29):
David top Personally, it feels fantastic for me. It's kind
of been an answer to my own personal prayer and manifestation.
So I'm thrilled, thrilled to be part of the show.
Speaker 2 (09:39):
And I love that we have more programming like this,
And you know, I know that that again, you know,
this is something that the story has been around for
thousands of years, but this and it's been told many ways,
but this is being told in a different way. It's
called House of David. It's on Prime Video and it's
been there since last month, perfect timing, right before Easter.
(10:00):
And let's talk a little bit about what your role
is in House of David.
Speaker 6 (10:03):
Sure, I play David's dad. I'm Jesse, simple, humble farmer
shepherd who is a man of God who loves God
above all and instills those values in his children. You
have eight children and all boys. And when the prophet
(10:25):
Samuel gets told by God to go visit Jesse at
his farm, and you can imagine our surprise when who
he is shows up and then chooses one of my
sons has been anointed. It's the last thing as the dad.
I mean, Jesse doesn't really even think it's going to
be data. He's even in the ballpark of being a choice.
He's got warrior sons, you know, your job and the
(10:47):
dad and those are the kids. And then but sure enough,
God does not look at things the way we do,
which is a beautiful theme I think in the show.
And yeah, not a lot of stuff about Jesse in
the Bible particularly, but it was interesting to coming up
sort of with the dynamic for me personally and with
the Johns in terms of the kind of father he
would be and what you would what you would want
(11:10):
to sort of embrace as the qualities and sort of
you know, take it taking it from there from a
storytelling perspective, you know, because you're also dealing with an
accurate biblical story.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yeah, and again, a lot of people familiar with David
versus Goliath, they're familiar with this story from the Bible.
But the thing that's nice this is more than just
that scene. There's a lot of things leading up to
that and many people. Again as a kid, you know,
I remember hearing that story and then later reading the
story myself in the Bible. But you get a whole
backstory that people might skim over as they're reading the Bible.
(11:43):
And I love that because it really builds out that
character of David, who becomes a very important character in
the Bible.
Speaker 6 (11:50):
And I love that as well. I mean, I love
that the first seating is literally that journey. You know,
you're just gonna you know, you're going to find you know,
I don't know if I'm allowed to, so I haven't
a radio interview in over fifteen years. So we get
the entire season. So the entire season ends up with
like you know, that the battle, which is the epic
showdown you know, in season one, which is beautiful. But
I love that they've taken their time and you're meeting
(12:13):
all these other characters and their stories and stuff that's
very relatable on so many levels, especially with everything going
on in our world and people, and I think that's
what's happening people. The show is doing well because the
relatability factor is there, and I think that's what these
guys have done a really good job of. I'm watching
the show with my lady, and we need our fans.
(12:36):
We love it. And I can't say enough about Michael
because Michael, you know, this is his first job and
he's carrying this show so beautiful. He's magic. That's all
I'll said. I love all my sons equally my story.
I mean, he's absolutely magic in.
Speaker 2 (12:50):
This that is fantastic. It's called House of David. I
like that you were worried about giving away the ending.
I was going to go, well, I don't know if
you know this. The story's been around for a while,
so people might know how this ends. But the cool
thing is, I remember that same thing back when the
movie Titanic came out. I was leaving the theater and
there are other people walking in, and I heard somebody say, hey,
I don't want to give away the ending, but the
(13:11):
boat sinks, and I'm like, well, I think people knew that, so.
Speaker 6 (13:15):
I know I know, I know it. You know the
passion of the Christ. I mean, it's the same, I
get it. Yeah, it's that. I like I said, it's
been a while since I one of these, but yes, yes,
I do love the journey of the of the of
the season that we've we've done. It's it's been pretty epic.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Well, I'm excited to get all caught up House of
David on Prime Video. And again, Lewis, thank you so
much for taking the time to chat. We appreciate it, sir,
thank you so much.
Speaker 6 (13:39):
Have a great day and happy Saint Patrick's day.
Speaker 2 (13:41):

I don't know.

with my beautiful bride, Heidi. As we head to the
News to Me news desk, what do you have today, Heidi?
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Koalas have unique fingerprints.
Speaker 2 (15:16):
Oh yeah, I saw that.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
So do chimpanzees and gorillas. But koala fingerprints are so
similar to human fingerprints that even the most seasoned forensic
scientists would have a hard time telling a koala fingerprint
from a human one.
Speaker 2 (15:28):
That is so cool.
Speaker 3 (15:29):
Isn't that great? So if you're going to commit a crime,
bring a koala along and teach them how to do stuff.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
Is eucalyptus everywhere. I don't know exactly what has happened here,
but nothing good.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
Well that's news to me.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
It is also news to me.

Fun fact for you, Heidi, what's that John? When Billboard
first introduced the country music chart in nineteen thirty nine.
It was called the Hillbilly chart. So that's kind of fun.
Fun fact for your hiding. A backwards question mark is
used to identify sarcasm. It can also be used to
signify irony or ken it. How do I make it
go backwards?
Speaker 3 (16:35):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (16:36):
I don't know either. Fun fact for a hiding, John,
there is a Swiss Army knife with thirty one features,
including a tool for emergency tracheotomies.
Speaker 3 (16:44):
Yikes, I think I need a Swiss army knife.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
Oh, I get you one.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
You should get one. We should have a big, fancy one.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Yeah, we'll get you one of those. Fun fact for
your hiding. Volcanic ash has been known to retain its
heat for over one hundred years.
Speaker 3 (16:58):
That is insane.
Speaker 2 (16:59):
It is very wild. And our final fun fact for you, Heidi,
what's that?
Speaker 3 (17:02):
John?
Speaker 2 (17:02):
The average person burns one hundred and fourteen calories an
hour just standing around. That's a lot of calories. There's
several fun facts now, you know. Thanks for listening to
the John and Heidi Show. Now some weird news. Exactly
zero finishers in this year's Barkley Marathon. It's an extremely
perilous and peculiar race that consists of five twenty plus
(17:25):
mile loops in Frozen Head State Park, Tennessee. Now, it's
not uncommon for the Ultra Ultra Marathon to have no
finishers because it forces competitors to complete off track competitions
without the use of GPS. Now, runners need to use
a map and a compass to navigate the locations on
the route or the route depending on where you're from,
(17:47):
and collect pages from hidden books to prove that they
arrive there. It's a very The rendezvous locations vary from
year to year, and the race organizers say to make
the race more difficult to finish every year, they keep
changing it up. But they had zero finishers this year.
Speaker 3 (18:04):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
At a certain point, maybe you need to make it
a little bit easier. But it's almost like they're proud
of the fact that nobody ran in our marathon. Hey,
guess what, nobody ran in my marathon.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Either.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
They ran in the marathon, they just didn't get all
the way through.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
I just think that's weird.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
This is a little dangerous missing You wouldn't even know.
Speaker 2 (18:21):
You might want to make it a little bit easier.
I'm just saying that's weird. News on the John and
Heidi Show. My pillow had a big allotment of their

question of the day, and I'll give this to Heidi.
Do you twenty percent of men only wash this once
(19:04):
a month? What is it only? I don't know their
cell phone? I don't think I've ever watched my.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Phone, ever washed myself.
Speaker 2 (19:12):
Am I supposed to watch my cell phone? What am
I supposed to do with it?
Speaker 5 (19:15):
You put it in?
Speaker 3 (19:17):
I think there are disinfecting wipes that you can use
on your well.
Speaker 2 (19:21):
I'm a disgusting pig. Because I've had my cell phone
for years, I've never never I clean it. I like,
like wipe it down if there's something gets on it,
like I spilled taco mina and I just leave that.
Speaker 4 (19:34):
All right.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
That is your question of to day on The John

with Heidi and what do you have today? Heidi?
Speaker 3 (19:59):
We were just talking about Irish coffee earlier program.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
I was brought it up, Yeah, asked why I don't
ever take anywhere nice.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
It made me think of my heritage. I'm very Irish.
I have a lot of Irish in me. My mother's
maiden name was McGowan and her mother's maiden name was Mernon,
so a lot of Irish in me. The German and
then German on the other side, which explains my love,
which explains my bad temper and my love for alcohol.
Because I'm not Irish German combination.
Speaker 2 (20:26):
Her maiden name is Bronchwack.
Speaker 3 (20:28):
You can't get much more German than that, you really can't.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
But you got the Irish going on the other side.
Speaker 3 (20:32):
So yes, yes, so yeah. My maiden name was so
long I needed when I was in school trying to
learn how to spell it, I needed an ID bracelet.
I had an ID bracelet that when I had to
write my name out, I had to look at it
so I knew.
Speaker 2 (20:46):
Which was right. My name is John Small and I
was just I always.
Speaker 3 (20:49):
Said when I was growing up, because I hated how
long it was. I said, when I get married, I'm
gonna marry somebody with a small last name. You did,
and I got the last name of Small, and my
mother actual said to me one time, do you even
like this boy? Are you only marrieding him because of
his name? That's really funny.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
We're still wondering about it. It's only been twenty five years.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Yeah, so anyway, I don't know. It just made me
think about those kinds of things. I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (21:15):
That's that's what.
Speaker 3 (21:16):
Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
Beginning of the month last month, I gave Heidi four
breaks which she could talk about whatever she wants to
talk about. And these are the things that she chooses
to talk about, so it's better than what it could be.
Thanks for listening.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
This person said they listened to four thousand dollars worth

to wrap things up around here with good news, and
I think this is good news. What a cool story
(23:42):
from Alabama. Fifteen hundred cars rally to support a bullied
boy in Alabama. A young man with autism, ten year
old Hunter Blanket Ship picked out a pair of rainbow
colored glasses, but he never imagined that would make him
a target for cruelty. He has autism and a deep
pass for anything with wheels, cars, trucks, motorcycles, simply like
(24:04):
the colorful frames. When he picked him out, he's like,
these are kind of cool. But his innocent choice led
to heartbreaking encounter with a bully. An older child mocked
him and told him he should end his life. Oh
my god, the cruel remark had a devastating impact. All
of a sudden, he stormed off and said he was
holding a knife his own.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 2 (24:23):
She's like, what are you going to do? And he said,
I'm going to kill myself. Now he spent some time
in a psychiatric unit at the children's hospital in Alabama,
been released, and some good things happening in his life now.
But again, terrible, terrible time for this young man. And
nothing is going to make that the right answer. I
just want to make sure you know that. But one
(24:45):
of the things that they did during the time that
he was coming out of this, they reached out to
a person who was in a car club and they said,
he's a big fan of cars. You think maybe we
get some cars. Well, cars from all over the place
started showing up, so they had over fifteen hundred cars
roll past.
Speaker 3 (25:01):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (25:02):
Yeah, the once bully boy was surrounded by love and
admiration and people proudly supporting this young man. And now
Hunter wears his colorful glasses with pride, no longer ashamed.
And he said, the mom says, the bully didn't win
this time, and I love that.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
I just don't understand why people don't have to be
so mean, just.
Speaker 2 (25:20):
Be kind to one another. I mean, I'm a Christian,
so I believe like in the Bible where Jesus literally said,
just love one another, like that's a really important thing.
You don't have to believe that. You don't have to
believe in any of that, even if you completely disagree
with that. If you just show love to one another
and others show love to you, imagine, just be nice
(25:42):
to once one another out there all right time. Say
good bye, Heide, goodbyeverybody, have a great day, have a
wonderful Monday. Thanks for listening to The John and Heidi Show.
