Now surveys and studies and such. A new study in
the British Journal of Psychology says attraction goes far beyond
looks will Scientists once believe symmetry, average features and signs
of health were the main draws. Researchers now say they've
uncovered surprising things that people find most attractive, and include
somehow like somebody, how they move, how they sound, and
(02:29):
even how they smell. An international team tested sixty one
people using photos and videos and voice clips and bodyodor
samples collected after exercise. They found voice was the strongest
signal of attractiveness, body odor was the weakest. Still, people
preferred a multisensory experience, such as seeing faces in motion
(02:50):
while hearing voices overlooks alone. The findings highlight the beauty
is not just skin deep. Many factors that we barely
notice will shape how appealing somebody seems to us, and
short confidence in more than your appearance really.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
Truly does matter. What do you think, Heidi? Do you
agree with all this?
Speaker 4 (03:06):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I love the way you look, the way you sound,
on the way you smell. You're just the best.
Speaker 2 (03:11):
So it sounds weird when you say it that way,
but we've been married going on twenty six years and
it's working out pretty good.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
I think we're gonna make it.

Big screen, little screen, everybody's favorite Rick moranis returning to
a guy like very very, very very far away. He's
going to be back for Spaceballs, to the sequel to
the nineteen eighty seven sci fi parody Spaceballs, and he's
going to be Lord Dark Helmet. And there's several other
people involved in the original that we'll be back as well.
And I am so excited to see this as it
(04:01):
hits theaters in two thousand.
Speaker 4 (04:03):
Door Rick moranis and I really have missed him. I
cannot wait to see him on the big screen again.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Dennis Villenevu will embark on the search for an actor
to play the world's most famous fictional Spy Bond James Bond.
Speaker 4 (04:16):
My gosh, they've been talking about this for years.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
He's working on this next year when he completes production
on Dune Part three. Deadline Hollywood quotes insiders saying that
the director and his collaborators are seeking quote a fresh
face to take on the double seven montle in Bond
twenty six. Also, Bond James Bond will be male, as
written by creator Ian Fleming in this and he said
this is important. He'll be an actor who hails from
(04:41):
the British Isles. That rules out speculations of several of
the people on the list. But they're saying, you know,
we don't know who it is yet, but we're working on.
We got narrowed down to at least that big screen
little screen on the John and Heidi Show.
Speaker 7 (04:53):

Heidi, did you know that sweetest researchers are seemingly.
Speaker 3 (05:28):
Confirming kind of researches, sweetish researchers. That's not easy to say.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Seemingly confirming that we're all pretty much something we already
knew that women are better at remembering events than men.
They're also better at remembering what was said. You're giving
me a funny look right.
Speaker 3 (05:43):
Now, Heidi, honestly not in our house.
Speaker 2 (05:45):
Twenty nineteen review of six hundred and seventeen subjects one
point two million participants found that women excel at remembering
words and objects and faces and smells. Women also hold
a slight edge and episodic memory, which involves recalling events
like a conversation or whatever. Conducted by Swede, Sweden's a
Carol Karkolinskia Institute, I'm sure I nailed it. The analysis
(06:07):
found that man, however, performed better at spatial tasks like
navigating routes or recalling abstract images. I have to just
say something here. My wife cannot remember a face to
save her life.
Speaker 4 (06:18):
I can't. Well, I can remember an entire conversation verbatim,
like literally verbatim, but I could not remember a face
to save my life. I never know what we have
going on. John will tell me what I'm like.
Speaker 3 (06:32):
I told you two minutes ago.
Speaker 4 (06:33):
I never know. So no, this is not necessarily everybody giving.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Me a funny look.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
Yeah, we don't know everything, but now we all know this.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
One is a superhero, the other is a simple command.
Speaker 2 (07:12):

Time now for the scoop of the day. A report
found that you can improve your relationship by going on
a road trip.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Unless you're going with John.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I think we've had more fights on road trips than
anywhere else we've ever had fights. And it's because of
all the idiots on the road, not me, of course, no, no, And.
Speaker 4 (08:22):
It's because of your food tantrum.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
Oh yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
It's like, hey, i've never been there, we should stop there,
And she's like, now, I'm not hungry yet.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
I'm like, okay, then don't eat. I want to get
something from there.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
I'd like, oh, my gosh, it is ridiculous. It's ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Anything else you need to say about me? No, Okay,
we're gonna move on.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
It's the medical test that everybody of a certain age
is told that they have to have. It's also one
that everybody dreads. The colonoscopy. Well, one day soon it
may no longer be needed.
Speaker 9 (08:50):
Nice.
Speaker 1 (08:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:51):
Scientists in Geneva have found a less invasive which doesn't
take much to be less invasive than that. They found
a much less invasive alternative stool test powered by AI.
I can get behind this kind of AI. Yeah, couldn't you?
Speaker 4 (09:07):
Is it going to get behind you?
Speaker 2 (09:10):
In a new study, researchers analyze gut bacteria at the
subspecies level, and they trained an AI model to spot
patterns linked to colorectal cancer tests on samples from over
one thousand people in seven countries. The method predicted cancer
with about eighty four percent accuracy. That's much better than
past models. It can if confirmed in clinical trials, This simple,
(09:31):
low cost test could transform screenings for one of the
world's deadliest cancers, making early detection easier, faster, and far
less uncomfortable.
Speaker 9 (09:39):
So huh.
Speaker 2 (09:40):
There's a thing called Coli Guard because I remember there,
like I saw the first commercial for that.
Speaker 8 (09:44):
I'm like, soe you you poop in a box and
you mailed it out, and I said, how would you
like to work in their mail? Yeah, that would be
a horrible job. So you can't say that on the
radio anyway.
Speaker 2 (09:56):

The John and Heidi Show this week. And excited a
visit with Andre Holland. He's been in a bunch of
movies like Moonlight, Sealma forty two, and he's got a
new film out right now. It's called Love Brooklyn. So
tell me a little bit about this new film that
you're in Andre.
Speaker 1 (10:28):
Thank you man.
Speaker 10 (10:28):
Yeah, we really had a great time making it. It's
a contemporary love story set in modern day Brooklyn and
against the backdrop of a rapidly gentrifying neighborhood and It's
a story about, you know, three adults trying to figure
out their love lives. I play a writer named Roger
who is in a kind of on again, off again
relationship with his longtime lover Casey, played by the amazing
(10:53):
Nicole Bajari, is one of the best actresses in the world.
And then Roger meets this new person played by the
equally wonderful Dwanda Wise, who's a single mom who has
recently lost her partner and is trying to figure out
how to be a single parent again.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
The film is called Love Brooklyn and there's quite a
cast here. Have you had a chance to work with
any of the other folks on this cast or is
this your first chance to work together?
Speaker 10 (11:17):
No, well, it's the first time we were officially worked Actually,
I take that back. I have worked with Nicole Bahari.
We worked on this movie forty two together many years ago,
about Jackie Robinson. She played Jackie Robinson's wife, and I
played this character Wendell Smith, who was a sportswriter who
worked alongside them. But this is the first time that
we've gotten to really really work together, and it's something
(11:38):
I've wanted to do for years. We all went to
school around the same time myself, Nicole Bihari de Wanda Wis,
and several other members of our cast. So it's been
amazing to get a chance to work with these dynamic accesses.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
That was an absolutely amazing film, and You've had a
chance to a lot of fun stuff. As you look
back at your career and all the different characters you've
had a chance to play, Andre, are there any of
the characters that you've played that you would say is
like the closest to who.
Speaker 3 (12:06):
The real Andre is? Or are they all kind of
different just playing a character?
Speaker 10 (12:12):
Man? You know, I feel like they're all some part
of me. I think the Nick for Sure was a
TV show I did a number of years ago, and
I played this like really hard working and passionate doctor
who was determined to make his way in the world,
and I really felt connected to that part. And then
also with this movie Love Brooklyn, it's a completely different character,
(12:35):
but it's a guy who's in his early forties who's,
you know, still trying to figure out what his romantic
life is going to look like and is he going
to have a family and what does it mean to
be an artist? Trying to produce work when you're living
in an environment and in a world that feels often
like unstable and the ground is constantly shifting. So I
really connect to that part too. So I think in
(12:56):
some ways, most of the parts that I've played have
I've been attracted to them because there is some element
of who I am kind of embedded in the story.
Speaker 2 (13:04):
And again, his current project is out now. It's called
Love Brooklyn. It started in the New York market, which
is cool, but then it kind of spread all over
the country and people are loving this film, which is amazing.
And I know how Hollywood works. So I don't know
if we'll be able to talk about any upcoming projects,
But do you have any projects in the works that
we can talk about right now?
Speaker 10 (13:23):
Well, there's a couple I can't talk about. But one
thing I can say is that I'm actually doing a
play right now at the Shed Theater in New York.
It's called The Brothers Size, and it is a really,
really beautiful play. We just started performances three nights ago,
and I'm really pleased with where we are with it,
and I would just invite people to come out and
check it out. We're on until September twenty eighth. It
(13:44):
plays about ninety minutes long, and I guarantee you you
will not be disappointed.
Speaker 2 (13:49):
I love that you're doing a play that's very, very cool.
So how different is that when you're doing a TV show,
you're doing a movie. You've got the cast and crew watching,
and you've got these cameras that are staring at you,
and you're filming all this stuff for people to watch
in the comfort of their own homes. How different is
that compared to standing on a stage and looking at
hundreds of faces and they're watching you and you can
(14:10):
see their reactions to everything you do. Is that like
a night and day difference?
Speaker 9 (14:13):
It is?
Speaker 10 (14:14):
It's you know, just to give you an example. Last night,
for instance, we were doing the play and we had
a technical snap food in that the microphones went out
about fifteen minutes into the play, like all of them.
So and it's a show that's really heavily dependent on
sound and music, and so you know, we all had
to sort of like quickly pivot and adjust real time.
(14:35):
And there was no time for us to step off
stage or take a break. There's no intermission, so we
just had to kind of figure it out, and that's
often not the case in film. You know, you have
time to think about it and to try again and
make adjustments. But that's one of the reasons I love
live theater because anything can happen on any given night.
That's just the magic.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (14:56):
Absolutely, well, Andre, thank you so much for taking the
time to chat with us about it today.
Speaker 10 (15:00):
Thank you, I appreciate you, man.
Speaker 2 (15:01):
Thank you absolutely again. The new film is out right now.
It's called Love Brooklyn. Our guest Andre Holland is one
of the stars of that movie. I've got a link
to all the details in the show now. It's for

All right, here's the quote. If I'm not back in

Speaker 4 (16:01):
And of course, another one of my favorite movies.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Ace Ventura himself also known as Jim Carrey. That was
one of the movies that kind of sprung him to
like nationwide.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
Star fantastic and it was such a.
Speaker 2 (16:12):
I went to the premiere of that like and they
had they had a contest where he had to dress

ridiculous and memorable night of my life because there's people
that are like, oh.

Speaker 4 (16:55):
Talking yesterday about one of the things to be happy
is to be nicer to people. Absolutely, And I have
some quotes from nice people, some nice quotes.
Speaker 3 (17:09):
I like nice quotes.
Speaker 4 (17:11):
So this one is from Betty White, America's favorite nice person.
You can lie to anyone in the world and can
get away with it, perhaps, but when you are alone
and look into your own eyes in the mirror, you
can't sidestep the truth. Always be sure you can meet
those eyes directly. I love that. Excellent, excellent advice. I
(17:36):
don't know who Roger Scrutin is, but he said it
is not enough to be nice. You have to be good.
We are attracted by nice people, but only on the
assumption that their niceness is a sign of goodness. Like that,
and the Dalai Lama said be kind whenever possible, It's
always possible.
Speaker 3 (17:57):
That is very very nice.

The smallest dinosaur that we know of was the microraptor
and it's about the size of a crow and it
had four wings.
Speaker 3 (18:43):
How cool is that?
Speaker 7 (18:44):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (18:45):
Kind of want to see one of those fun fact
for a Heidi. In Japan, Domino's Pizza they tested pizza
delivery via reindeer in twenty sixteen. Huh, like I had
delivery pizza by reindeer.
Speaker 3 (18:58):
Nice fun fact for you, a Heide.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Jack Rabbits got their names because of their ears. They
look like a donkey, so the jackass, So that's why
they call them jack rabbits.
Speaker 3 (19:10):
Interesting because of that. Yeah, there we.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Go and we'll do one more fun fact for you

in the world would that be good fortune. There's nothing
about that that would be good.

Saskatchewan is introducing a unique memorial option known as parting Stones,
(20:05):
offering families an alternative to traditional urns.
Speaker 4 (20:08):
W J.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
Jones and Son Funeral Home has partnered with parting Stone,
a New Mexico based company that transforms created remains into
smooth stone like pieces. The process involves converting the ashes
into a powder, then adding water to make the clay
like substance, then firing it in a kiln and producing
like a ceramic type stone that can be held or
(20:30):
displayed or shared among loved ones. Parting stones first gain
attention after appearing on Shark Tank in twenty twenty three.
The option, which is also available for pets, has been
gradually gaining interest in Moosejaw, giving families a more tangible
personal way to grieve and remember. So what do you
think of that? Would you like to have me saved
as a rock on the mantle?
Speaker 4 (20:52):

times where like I go in the bedroom and I

It's as a large vacation rental home. And this lady
has had people telling her for years like this place
is haunted, which she kind of has always brushed off,
but she went until one time she had an experience
(22:47):
of her own. She was in the house, staying in
the house, taking a shower, and she heard looking good.
She thought it was her husband. Her husband was clear
on the other side of the house. It was not
her husband. There was nobody else in the house. So
then she started paying attention, like what you know, is
there really something in this house? And she said She's
identified several different kinds of ghosts in hillhouse manner, including
(23:11):
old people, children, and former ladies of the night that
are living in this house. Several male renters have reported
waking up in the middle of the night feeling something
that they can't see, caressing their faces, arms, and shoulders,
and the owner of the house, says that it's just
the ladies of the night trying to drum up some business.
(23:34):
And on one occasion, she said, one of one of
her ghosts followed a renter home and was kind of
messing with them at their house and apparently got bored
and then returned back to the mansion. I have no
idea ghosts, but I just it's just found it.

Time Now for the list the most viewed websites in
twenty twenty five so far. What website do you think
is the most viewed website?
Speaker 3 (24:34):
Probably Google, Well, let's find out number ten.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
WhatsApp two point eight two billion, Yahoo three point eight
three billion, x or Twitter three point nine six billion,
Reddit four point six billion, Wikipedia four point seven billion,
Chat GPT five point two billion, Instagram five point seven billion.
Now we're into the top three. Facebook nine point nine
(24:56):
four billion monthly visits bigger than that.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
YouTube.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
We go from nine point nine billion to forty seven billion. Yeah, YouTube,
that's per month, by the way, and then Google is
one hundred and one billion monthly visits. So number three
is Facebook nine billion, YouTube forty seven billion, Google one
hundred and one billion. By the way, Google YouTube are
owned by the same company, Alphabet, so that is so

wrap things up around here with good news, and I
think this is good news. A struggling woman gave this
(25:50):
officeer some attitude, but his response helped save her life.
I actually watched this. It was shared on the social
media by a bunch of people. This video has gone viral.
What began as a routine traffic stop ended up changing
the course of one woman's life, all because a deputy
had compassion. Deputy Sean Singleton pulled over a twenty six
year old by the name of Caitlin Ritchie. This was
(26:11):
back in March. She was speeding after she left church.
The stop started with some tension, she admitted. She gave
the officer absolute attitude, telling him that she never trusted
the police. He led her off with the warning. That's
when the conversation took a surprising turn, and Singleton asked
if she was doing okay. She broke down, confessing that
she's struggling with anxiety and her journey to stay clean
(26:33):
and sober, and painful reality of leaving an abusive relationship.
And she even had to leave her children behind, her
son five year old son, to focus on recovery. So
the son's with her mother. Oh okay, she said. The
officer said, would you like a hug? And she said,
you know, I've never hugged a cop before. I've always
been put in handcuffs by them. That moment of kindness
(26:56):
became a turning point. This happened back in March. She
revealed that she's been close to giving up on life.
Speaker 3 (27:01):
That day. She was literally like.
Speaker 2 (27:03):
Thinking all the worst thoughts, but instead she had this
amazing experience. Six months later, now she's introduced that deputy
to her son, proudly sharing that she was ten months sober,
now working full time, and reunited with her little boy. Look,
this is one of the guys that saved my life,
she said. Singleton, humbled by the impact of that single encounter, said,
(27:25):
I try to show mercy and grace wherever I can,
because that's what I believe is the calling for myself
and other law enforcements love it. If you have that moment,
the chance to show sympathy, and that moment to do it,
it may mean the difference to somebody else. So I
really think that is amazing, and it's amazing when.
Speaker 4 (27:42):
You have no idea how many officers practice exactly every single.
Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yeah, so many times good things happen on the side
of the road, and then every once in a while,
something bad happens, and that is the gong that the
news likes to bang, and I don't understand why so anytime.
Speaker 4 (27:56):
For every one bad story that you hear, there's a
million positives.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
Every time we see these stories, and I love it
when people share these with me. That's why we do
