Now surveys and studies and such a new survey suggests
it is always hard for me to say that if
you noticed on a new survey suggests people can barely
tell AI general music from tunes made by humans. Now,
there's a survey of nine thousand listeners in eight different countries.
They compared three samples, two completely created by IA, one
(03:10):
completely created by humans. For streaming service dezer As, who
did this study. Ninety seven percent could not tell the difference.
Over half of the people felt uneasy about their answer.
Many respondents worry that AI is going to flood these
platforms with low quality music and reduce creativity, but AI
generated tracks are rapidly gaining traction, rising from ten percent
(03:33):
of daily streams in January to over a third by October.
Eighty percent of listeners say that I actually think AI
should be clearly labeled AI. Yeah, I agree, So I
don't know surveys and studies and such. On The John

Daniel Radcliffe is ready to hand the Harry Potter baton.
He spoke to Good Morning America about Harry Potter remake
series being set to premiere on HBO in twenty twenty seven,
(04:17):
and he said that he sent Dominic Milaughlin some words
of encouragement as the child prepares to embark on his
own adaptation of the fantasy series. So I think that's
kind of cool. It's a good thing that he's not
because like, there are some people going there, ain't nobody
as good as me, you know, that's not what he's like.
I hope it goes well. I want it to go well.
Kevin Spacey says he's homeless right now. I saw that
(04:39):
all of the allegations against him right now. He's been
really struggling for the last couple of years. He said,
I've had to live in hotels or Airbnbs, and he's like,
I have no home, I have no place to go.
Cost of living over these last seven years because of
his attorney fees have been astronomical.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
So I would think it would be more expensive to
go from hotel to home hotel, but Airbnbs it is.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
But if you can't buy a house, and like, I
have enough to stay here, but I don't have to
buy the place, I could understand that. And Ricky Gervais,
his next stand up special is going to arrive on
Netflix in December, and it's his fourth special. This one
is called Mortality. The first one, I don't know the
order of these, but there was Humanity, SuperNature and Armageddon anyone.
(05:22):
This one is supposed to be pretty good from the
sounds of it, Big Screen, Little Screen on the John
and Heidi Show.

He did you know a cloud can weigh over a
million pounds? Yeah, clouds. They look light, they look fluffy,
but they actually weigh a lot more than you'd think.
A typical cumulus cloud can weigh over a million pounds
due to all the water droplets that is inside. Lucky luckily, rather,
the weight is spread out evenly, so we don't see
clouds crashing to the ground.
Speaker 3 (06:18):
I don't know how they would know what it weighs.
Who's up their way in?
Speaker 2 (06:20):
Somebody put it on a scale ridiculous. I don't know.
We don't know everything clearly, but now we think we
know this.

Speaker 4 (06:47):
I'm reading a book about anti gravity. It's impossible to
put down.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Oh, she jokes, folks, she jokes, She's not really reading that.
Speaker 3 (06:58):

Time Now for the scoop of the day. Happy birthday
to Mickey Mouse. He debuted Steamboat Willie back in nineteen
twenty eight. It was either this week or last week.
It might have been last week. I think I've had
this a bit. He just turned ninety seven years young.
And I will say once again I've mentioned this on
the program before. A movie that I really really like,
and it's not a great, great movie, but it's a
(07:55):
great story. It's called Walt Before Mickey, and it's about
the creation of and it's a very inspirational story. It's
a low budget but the people that are in it
did a great job.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
It was excellent.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
But anyway, Walt before Mickey if you're looking for something.
And as AI chatbots become more realistic companions, they're starting
to impact marriages and even appear in divorce cases.
Speaker 9 (08:18):
Now.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
Divorce attorney Rebecca Palmer says some spouses form deep attachments
that feel like affairs, especially in struggling marriages. Users have
reported relationships ending after a partner spent money on things
like paid subscriptions, personality upgrades, or role play add ons,
and they share personal information with AI companions. Courts are
(08:40):
increasingly seeing AI cited as a factor in divorce, and
some states may classify AI as a third party now
in marital misconduct, though not as a person. While some
find comfort in AI, experts warned that we could see
an uptick in divorce rates as lonely partners turn to
these bots for connections.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
That is so disturbing.
Speaker 7 (09:02):
It is.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
And here's the thing. I don't use AI like that
at all. I use it for other things or things,
and I'm like, that's kind of cool, it's neat, But
I don't. I haven't gotten too deep in this, and
every day I feel like I'm happier that I haven't.
So Scoop of the Day on The John and Heidie.

Excited to visit today with Gary Cole. We know I'm
from Office Space, we know I'm from Talladega Nights and
(09:39):
so many other amazing projects. Gary. First of all, thank
you for taking the time to chat today. I'm excited
to chat about this new project. But thank you for
being my guest on this movie star Monday.
Speaker 10 (09:48):
Thank you thanks for having me. Yeah, I've you know,
so far, so good. I've been at it a while
and just add list of the list.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
And what a fun project. This is what a great
cast as well a Man on the Inside. It's available
now on Netis Flicks. Tell us a little more about this.
Speaker 10 (10:01):
Yeah, Man on Inside is stars Ted Danson. This is
season two. The kind of the premise that they laid
out is that Ted is kind of a retired professor
and now it fancies himself a semi private investigator. And
this season all takes place at the university where I
am an annoying billionaire donor alumni of the university, and
(10:23):
I get caught up in this investigation. We're not sure
whether or not he's responsible for any shady doings, but
he's a bit shady himself, so you know, he's under
the microscope.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
An amazing cast. Again, you're in this Ted Danson's of this.
When I was a kid, he was on Cheers, and
I would have to wait until a certain night on
a certain channel at a certain time to watch that.
Now the way streaming works, I can watch this show
anytime I want, and I can watch like an entire
season or two.
Speaker 10 (10:48):
Right, Yeah, that's I mean. Television has gone through a
lot of changes, and especially within the last five ors
even ten years. You know that the whole scheduling saying,
you know, this show against that show that's really going
to be in a decade that'll be gone. Maybe it's
gone already. You can you know, the viewer is the scheduler.
(11:11):
They can watch whatever they want when they want to
watch it, so uh, and they can watch it in succession,
like you said, you can sit down and you know,
burn through five or six and uh, you know, and
then have some continuity to it. So there's a lot
of there's a lot of advantages to that.
Speaker 2 (11:26):
And with movies, we used to have to wait until
it would come out to a theater and I have
to go into a room with a bunch of strangers
to watch it. Now I can sit on my sofa
in my underwear, watch the movie like the day it
comes out. So as an actor, is that a benefit
or are their drawbacks that I'm not thinking about too well?
I think?
Speaker 10 (11:41):
I mean to me, I'm still I'm still a fan
of of going to movies because I do think there's something.
There's two things. One, I think there's there's nothing that
compares to a large screen, especially a film that is
geared for it, that that has visual you know, that
that has or impact visually if you're going to.
Speaker 7 (12:01):
See it on a large screen.
Speaker 10 (12:02):
But there is something to witnessing or watching a film
in a group and seeing the reaction to people there.
There's there's something to me, And now that may be
lost on some people now, but I still I still
enjoy that.
Speaker 7 (12:18):
Although you can't argue with you know, and no one's
gonna argue with the convenience of it.
Speaker 10 (12:22):
I mean, it's just, you know, there's sometimes there's movies
I wanted to see this year that I never got
around to and they were in and out of theater
before I knew what happened. And then so I dialed
it up in my living room, you know.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
And a movie that I never had a chance to
see in a theater. But I will tell you it's
the very first DVD I ever owned, and you probably
already know the two words I'm gonna say right now,
office space. Yeah, and your character in that, Lumberg, he
was the character that like, people had that guy for
a boss. They they maybe didn't like him, but you
did such a great job bringing him to life.
Speaker 10 (12:51):
Lumbered was a well, that's a great that's a creation
of my Judge. That's actually Lumberg came from a an
animation that might did years but four and the only
two characters in that animation were Lumbert and Milton, and
so probably ten years after that or so, he decided
to build a movie around those characters. So everything you
(13:15):
see that I did, I basically, you know, I basically
ripped off from Mike Judge, but with his permission, so
it worked out well.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Well, you did such a great job of playing him
and then another character like on a completely different opposite
end of the spectrum from Talladega Knights And one of
my favorite quotes from any movie, if you ain't first
your last, I mean again, what a great character.
Speaker 10 (13:34):
Yeah, that was another great piece of writing.
Speaker 7 (13:37):
That was Adam McKay and Will Ferrell.
Speaker 10 (13:39):
That that script when I read it, and you know,
it always it was already there. I mean, there was
there was a little bit of you know, ad living
and stuff like that, but in terms of.
Speaker 7 (13:50):
That character, not that much. It was all right there.
Speaker 10 (13:53):
And you know, they really had that. That whole movie
was really well planned, you know, because it was a
big movie to shoot at the time.
Speaker 7 (14:03):
I mean, I don't know, I don't remember what the.
Speaker 10 (14:05):
Budget was, but there, you know, there was a lot
of elements sit there the whole you know, all the
racing we shot.
Speaker 7 (14:11):
We shot down in North Carolina at.
Speaker 10 (14:13):
Two NASCAR tracks, so there was it was big, you know,
so they had to they had to know what the.
Speaker 7 (14:20):
Plan was going in.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
Well, you guys did a great job. Gary, Thank you
so much for taking the time to chat today.
Speaker 7 (14:24):
You bet, thanks for having me.
Speaker 2 (14:25):
Our guest today has been Gary Cole. You can catch
him on A Man on the Inside, two seasons now

My Beautiful Bride Heidie. I think you're gonna get this one.
We've seen this and you're gonna remember it for sure,
even if you don't know. But it's kind of vague.
Lots of people go to college for seven years. What
if I say who he's talking to? Richard? Does that help?
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (15:20):
That would have been Tommy Boy.
Speaker 2 (15:22):
It was Tommy Boy. Yeah, those people are their conductors.
That is such funny movie. We've not seen that in years.
We should watch that too. Man, We got a list
of movies we need to see.
Speaker 3 (15:34):

Do another stolen identity of bands today. I've got a
couple of these yet. Frankie goes to Hollywood.
Speaker 3 (16:08):
Remember them?
Speaker 2 (16:08):
Yeah, on two tries, anybody could pretend to be them.
I don't know they lot more than ten years ago.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Frankie goes to Hollywood Broke Up okay, and a band
by the same name started touring North America, at one
point as the band opening act for fellow nineteen eighties
band Flock of Seagulls.
Speaker 3 (16:27):
No We've Met.
Speaker 4 (16:29):
Lead singer Davy Johnson told reporters that Holly Johnson was dead,
but that he was Holly's brother and that he played
as a season musician uncredited in the liner notes on
the album. Frankie goes to Hollywood's debut album Welcome to
the Pleasure Doome So he's saying I.
Speaker 3 (16:46):
Was in the band.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
I just didn't get I just didn't get.
Speaker 4 (16:48):
Any credit because I was her sister, I was his
her brother, and she passed away. Actually Frankie Goes to
Hollywood basis Marco Toool noticed that this group was touring
without him and they didn't have authorization to do so.
He hired an attorneys and warnings to many venues. Others
(17:10):
involved in the original Frankie Goes to Hollywood came forward
to announce that Davy Johnson was of no relation to
Holly Johnson, who was actually still alive. Oh wow, nor
had Davy ever been present for any of the group's recordings.
Speaker 1 (17:23):
Wow.
Speaker 4 (17:23):
A flock of Seagulls frontman Mike Score promptly dropped the
fake ban. Nevertheless, the phony Frankie Goes to Hollywood continued
to play in small clubs on their own all around
the United States for many years until an expose in
Spin magazine made them unbookable.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
That is just wild.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
So yeah, anyway, what is news to me?
Speaker 2 (17:43):

Fun fact for you, Heidie that ancient Egyptians slept on
pillows made of stone. I could probably do that.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
You probably could, Yes, I could not.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
I can fall asleep, but I do absolutely love my pillows,
so I could sleep on a bed of stone. But
I don't know about a pillow. Fun fact for you hiding.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa leans because of the soft
soil that it was built on. That soft base has
protected it from at least four powerful earthquakes.
Speaker 1 (18:43):
Though.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
Oh wow, it's kind of cool. Another fun fact for
your hiding, frogs sometimes eat enough fireflies that the frogs
will actually glow.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
I have I have heard. I think we've talked about that.
Speaker 2 (18:53):
We did, indeed, and you ready for one more?
Speaker 10 (18:55):
Sure?
Speaker 2 (18:56):
All right? Fun fact for you hiding.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
What's that?
Speaker 2 (18:58):

Speaker 2 (19:44):
No, just a new study found the active ingredient in
viagra could reverse a form of hearing loss linked to
a gene mutation. Researchers discovered that this gene normally helps
produce nitric oxide, key for nerve signaling in the ear.
When it fails, ear hair cells dye. The test on
(20:05):
fruitflies with a mutation, both an amino acid supplement and
this other supplement improved hearing, suggesting a potential of treatment
beyond hearing aids. So very cool they were giving viagra
to fruit flies? Why were they does this seem weird
that somebody was doing that. I don't understand what the
(20:26):
purpose of that was, but they're like, hey, cool side effect.

Fifty million of these stolen a year. Bicycles. Yeah, yeah,
I had a friend who had his bicycle stolen like
I don't know six months ago. See million fifty million
(21:28):
bicycles a year. Yeah, that's crazy. That is your question

for me?
Speaker 4 (21:54):
He Over the next few days, I'm going to be
doing words that have changed in meaning over the years.
So like the word villain right now that means it's
a scoundrel or a lawbreaker.
Speaker 2 (22:06):
A scoundrel, scoundrel.
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Back in the day, it was an uneducated farm laborer,
no kid. Yeah, and it now means.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
A lawbreaker, which is interesting.
Speaker 4 (22:19):
Rocket, which currently obviously is a device propelled through the air.
Back in the day, it was a small rock a
rocket A rocket. A pencil is currently obviously a pencil
device for a writing instrument. It used to be a
very fine paintbrush, no kidden yep, And a fluent, having
an abundance of riches. It meant flowing freely in great quantity.
(22:46):
And egregious is conspicuously bad It egregious regious, Yes, it
used to mean distinguished or eminent.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
So it's a huge.
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (22:59):
So I have a bunch of these which I think
are fascinating.
Speaker 2 (23:02):
Well, I'm excited.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
I'll be sharing those the rest of the week.
Speaker 2 (23:05):
I'm excited to learn more. That is something special with Heidi.

Time now for the list. The holiday is going to
be here before you know it. And there's a survey
of two thousand adults in the US. They found that
nearly half would rather sit at the kids table or
just rely on wine in order to deal with their relatives,
especially millennials. Across generations, people agree that certain topics are
off limits politics, money, and about weight, but most der
(24:02):
towards safer ground like food, whine, travel, hobbies for their
social lives, that's what they want to talk about. Some
even fake a phone call or ooh hey, I got
to use a restaurant to get out of a conversation.
So have a list here of things it says. Here
are some of the most dreaded questions people said they
don't want to be asked during the holidays. Do you
have a girlfriend?
Speaker 10 (24:21):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (24:22):
That was going to be the first one I was
gonna say.
Speaker 2 (24:24):
So when are you going to lose those holiday pounds?
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Who would say that?
Speaker 2 (24:28):
General? Who did you vote for? What did you do
to your hair? Why don't you go to church with us?
When are you getting married or having kids? How much
are you making now? How come you haven't come to visit?
And then the most dreaded question that people do not
want to be asked, And you can put me on
this list as well. Can I borrow some money?
Speaker 3 (24:51):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (24:52):

(25:15):
up around here with good news, and I think this
is good news. Heidi Stranger's rally to restore power for
a woman in Louisiana after months without electricity, a small
town delivered a big reminder of how far kindness can go.
Caroline Deville, a former paramedic, spent twenty eight years helping others.
She had been living for weeks without electricity and running water.
Her utility bill climbed up to two thousand, two hundred
(25:37):
and forty seven dollars. Yeah, she had no payment plan offered.
There was no way for her. She found out herself
that you're basically just stuck with no way forward. Well,
somebody found this story and that's when other people stepped
up to do something. Incredible. Donations started just coming out
of the woodwork. Neighbors viewers and a community action center committee.
(25:59):
They all started pitching in until the entire balance was
paid off. Wow, and her lights, they're back on her water,
also back on her hope as high as you could
possibly expect it to be. The first thing she did
might be exactly what you expect. She said, I got
in that after and I started cooking, and I took
a nice hot shower. I've been at peace, and I've
been extremely thankful, she said, with an interview on a
(26:21):
TV station there they knocked it out of the park.
She was absolutely amazed about the generosity. She said, it
was deeply moving.
Speaker 3 (26:28):
So, yeah, that's wonderful.
Speaker 2 (26:29):
I think that is very very cool. And I'm sad
to hear that she was in this situation. But think
about how many times stuff like that happens and nobody
even knows about it. Yeah, so I'm glad that somebody
found out and somebody did something about it, you know.
And so many times when people are in a bad spot,
they're like, I don't want to tell anybody, I don't
want to know what I'm going through. But most of
the time, folks, if you just let people know that, hey,
(26:51):
I'm struggling a little bit, they'll probably step up and
help you. And it's not you saying hey, can you
help me? It's literally you just going well, you know,
I got this going on again. I think it's a
cool thing. I've got a link to the story if
you want to read it. It's in the show notes
for today at Johnndtheidishow dot com. Time stay, good Bye, Heidie,
good Bye Heidi, goodbyeverybuddy. Have a great day. Thanks for
listening to The John and Heidie Show. On on Monday.
