Surveys and studies and such, Harvard researchers say that filtered
coffee is the healthiest way to drink your daily brew really.

Speaker 3 (02:34):
As opposed to unfiltered coffee.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
This is using a paper filter removes some compounds that
could raise LDL cholesterol while still preserving coffee's antioxidants.

Speaker 5 (02:43):
Who's drinking it.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
With without a filter?

Speaker 2 (02:47):
Filtered methods instant maybe I don't, such as drip or
pour over also offer benefits of improved alertness, metabolism, and
hard health without the added risks such as impacting hard
health over time, which are linked to un filtered styles
like espresso or French press.

Speaker 3 (03:02):
Okay, there we go.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
We were thinking differently.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
We're just on cultured. We don't make that stuff. We
don't know what it's done.

Speaker 2 (03:10):
People out there drinking their espresso right now, are like, really, guys,
really really and they're shaking a lot. I'm maybe Experts say,
drinking three to four cups of coffee a day and
avoiding heavy sugar and cream or flavored syrups that actually
cancels out the natural advantages brewd wisely filtered coffee can
be a simple, heart healthy habit that fits into a

(03:31):
balanced lifestyle. So there you go. I don't know what
I was thinking, but that wasn't surveys and studies and
such on The John and Heidie Show. Shoe Thank you

Speaker 3 (04:25):
They dance.

Speaker 2 (04:26):

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Did you know that a sloth can hold its breath
longer than a dolphin?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
I think we've talked about that.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Sloths are known for their slow movement, but you know
they also hold their breath fro up to forty minutes.
That's longer than adult A minute typically holds the breath
for about ten minutes for a Dolphinsloths have a very
efficient oxygen system that allows them to stay under water
for extended periods of time.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
I didn't even know they went in water.

Speaker 2 (05:56):
I didn't know that either, But if they do, they're
in there for a while because they're not moving fast,
So that is grat they have to be able to
hold their breath.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
Those are so neat. I love those things.

Speaker 2 (06:04):

How do you milk sheep?

Speaker 2 (06:31):
I have no idea. I wouldn't want to. How do
you milk a sheep?

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Introduce a new iPhone and charge one thousand dollars for.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Which? Wow, listen to. That's why she was so smirky
ahead of time. I thought it was gonna be a
naughty one. No, it's just defensive. That's all her numbers
or her name is Heidi? H E I D I.
That is your joke of the day on the John

Speaker 2 (07:29):
Time now for the scoop of the day. According to
the most recent data from the i n Rix Global
Traffic Scorecard, the average American driver loses about forty two
hours a year sitting in traffic. It feels like that
much a day, by the way, when you're sitting in traffic.
When you're not sitting in traffic, it's just fine. And
weight loss drugs seem to be everywhere these days, Heidi,

(07:51):
So now get ready for Ozepic two point zero. It's cheaper,
it's pill based, a weight loss drug, and it might
be on the way. Novo Nord and Eli Lilly are
preparing once a day GLP one pills that could rive
as early as next year, offering patients an easier, potentially
less expensive alternative to the injections of ozepic and we

(08:14):
go v. These medications come as demand for weight loss
treatments explode. Though current options remain costly, they can cause
side effects as well, and they can require needles, which
many people dislike. Beyond pills, drug makers are developing a
more powerful injectable combination that may reduce side effects, and
even monthly treatments that could match today's best drugs, which

(08:36):
are usually taken weekly. While the FDA approval is still pending,
experts say options and competition could lower the prices. So Heidi,
what do you have to say about that.

Speaker 3 (08:47):
I'm not taking any of it.

Speaker 2 (08:48):
Yeah, me neither. Here's the thing that we've done. We've
been doing fasting water only fasting, and we've done up
to five days, five days of just drinking water, not
eating food. And I know it sounds insane. I've dropped
over forty pounds doing this, but the better thing is
it's not even so much the weight. I feel so
much better, I really do. I feel so much better.

(09:10):
So again, we did that without the drugs. I'm not
saying that that's for you, but I'm saying, if you
want to try something that doesn't literally cost you a dime,
check into fasting. There you go. It's sales pitch. How
do I make money on this? I don't. That's why
people don't promote it.

Speaker 3 (09:25):
That's right.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Yeah, that's your scoop of the day on The John
and Heidie Show.

Speaker 4 (09:29):

Thank you for listening to The John and Heidi Show.
On this movie Star Monday. Excited to have Corbyn Burns
and join us once again. First of all, thanks for
coming back. Let's talk about your new film, Beldham. This

(09:53):
is kind of a scary film.

Speaker 9 (09:55):
Yeah, it's I'd like to stress it is a psychological
or thriller, you know, going back to the blockbuster days.
I guess we'd find it on the horror aisle, but
a lot more thriller aspect to it. Psychological horror my
favorite kind. That said, I always have to be very

(10:16):
careful to say there's plenty of jump out of your
seat moments in it, but the music and the tone
and the story. Patricia heat and wonderful and Katie Parker,
who's just an incredible actor. It's just the performances in it,
and it's just it's a movie that sits with you.

(10:37):
It's not going to make you want to lead the
lights on that night necessarily, but might not make you
be able to go to sleep at night when you
sit there and lie in the dark thinking about it.
And it covers a lot of a lot of territory
with an incredible sort of Hitchcockian twist at the end.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
Absolutely, and I will not share the twist ending because
I want people who do watch is to get the
same excitement that I had at the end. Now, I
don't know you for scary movies. We love you in
psych I loved you in Major League. Have you done
other scary movies, Corbyn?

Speaker 9 (11:09):
I have get a couple of films called The Dentists.
Many years ago. I did a wonderful movie called Tales
with the Hood, Tales from the Hood. Last year I
was in a movie called Marshmallow. I've probably done about five,
five or six little different horror films, usually in more

(11:29):
in the indie world. I'm not you know, maybe you
don't think of it because I'm not in these big
screen franchise kinds of movies, but the ones I'm attracted
to tend to lean a little bit more toward Indy,
so they're not quite so you know, not about gore
jump out of your seat. They're a little bit more
of a psychological thriller, he if you will.

Speaker 2 (11:52):
And Patricia Heaton is another one that I don't think
I've ever seen her in a scary movie, but the
two of you did amazingly well in belled Ham.

Speaker 9 (11:59):
Yeah, she's I mean, she's remarkable. I mean, we don't
think of her at all like this. I've sort of
played this Stowa Key character before a bit, not quite
like this, but you've never seen her like that. I
mean that the sort of stare on her face, sort
of neutrality that she really want to know what's going on,

(12:22):
is remarkable. She's great. But I also have to point
out Katie Parker, who is the lead, is just a
phenomenal actor and really gives an incredible performance.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
So many talented people in the movie. Again, it's called
belled Ham, it's a scary movie, and like Corbyn said earlier,
there is a twist ending I'm not gonna say what
the twist ending is, but as you watch this movie,
there's gonna be some questions that happen in your brain.
And then when you get to the end, everything just
kind of becomes clear and all of a sudden, it
all kind of makes sense, doesn't it.

Speaker 1 (12:55):
Right?

Speaker 9 (12:56):
Yeah, And it's kind of fun because I've been able
to do it. You go back and look at it
a second time and you go, oh, I see where
that was. I see how I could have seen that.
I don't know if you can ever see it really coming,
but the way scenes are staged, and you know, it
makes you want to go back and see the second
time and you go, you know, where was that all

(13:18):
laid in?

Speaker 5 (13:19):
You know?

Speaker 9 (13:19):
The thing about a twist at the end is you
can you can do any twist you want. And you go, oh, wow,
they're all dead. You know, they're dead people. That's this
is not this movie, by the way. But if you
don't have some sort of you know, a groundwork for
it during the film, it feels like a cheap twist.

Speaker 4 (13:37):
This is an.

Speaker 9 (13:38):
Earned twist, and it's fun to go back and see
where it was laid in, what you might have missed.

Speaker 2 (13:44):
Absolutely, and again it's called Beldham Am I saying that right,
belled Ham Bellum, Yeah.

Speaker 9 (13:50):
Which is you know. I'm ones or twice called it
the Bedlam myself.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
But it's a beld them and I saw in the
very beginning of the film it popped up and it
said what it means. It has like the meaning of
Beldam or Beldham whatever is is a witch. And as
you watch this movie, it'll all make sense. And again
it's a psychological thriller. It's fun stuff. And again our
guest today Corbyn Burnson. Corbyn, I just watched you last
night on TV. My wife and I were watching another

(14:14):
episode of psych That's one of our favorite shows, so
we watch it over and over and over. So thank
you for taking the time to chat and thank you
again for being our guests.

Speaker 9 (14:21):
Great. I appreciate it and I so appreciate you talking
to me. It means a lot.

Speaker 2 (14:28):

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Richard Dawson and the Family Feud producers hated each other
so much that when the show was revised in the eighties,
another host was sought out. They did not want Dawson back.
Oh Wow, Football great Joe Namath was the front runner,
and then Mark Goodson, the producer, decided to go with
the with the Roy Colmmes host instead did a very

(16:35):
good job. Yeah so, and then talk show host MERV
Griffin is credits credited with creating Jeopardy, but it was
actually his wife Julian Right. Julian Right. Following the fifties,
TV's quiz Show scandal, which briefly ended game shows because

(16:57):
producers were found to have been giving answer and pre
arranging the outcome. She suggested that the host should go
ahead and give contestants the answers, albeit in the form
of a question. She thought that contestants could lose money
by responding with the incorrect question because it would put
them in jeopardy.

Speaker 4 (17:16):
O that cute.

Speaker 2 (17:19):
I love that.

Speaker 3 (17:20):
I know it's something I didn't know, and that's news

beverage contain all thirteen minerals necessary to sustain human life.
So that's kind of cool to know that.

Speaker 3 (18:06):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (18:06):
Not all, but most do. Fun fact for most energy
drinks contain less caffeine than a cup of coffee from Starbucks.
So when you think about you know, oh, I'm gonna
drink all this caffeine, I'm gonna have all this energy
I have coffee, right, So you'd probably be better off.
Another one fun fact.

Speaker 3 (18:21):
For it healthier for you because there's no sugars.

Speaker 2 (18:23):
Yeah. There that that was quite a delayed reaction.

Speaker 6 (18:26):
Sorry.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
Coconuts kill more people each year than sharks do.

Speaker 3 (18:29):
Yes, falling, Yeah, isn't that crazy.

Speaker 2 (18:31):
I'm assuming that or they choked on them. They probably
thrown out them.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
I guess there could be many ways to die by coconut.

Speaker 2 (18:38):

squirrels were one of America's most popular pets. Really, I
can see why they are so adorable. And we'll do

(19:21):
first ever Taco Bell d C fifty k took place Saturday.
I think this is a week ago Saturday, sending nearly
one thousand runners into below freezing morning temperatures outside of
Taco Bell in Old Talent, Alexandria. The ultra marathon required
participants to cover fifty kilometers while stopping at nine Taco
Bells across Alexandria, Arlington and Washington d C. Each runner

(19:45):
had to buy and eat a menu item, no drinks,
no stomach aid, medicines and receipts were required at the
finish line. Specific items like a chiloopa Chiluupa Supreme by
stoppor drink and cho Bell Grande by stop eight anyway
eleven hour time limit. The race blended endurance logistics, fast

(20:06):
food strategy, and a lot of stomach bravery. The first
place finisher, Mike Smith, completed the race in four hours,
twelve minutes and thirty five seconds. His training routine every
day he would down a Happy Hour beer and then
he would go running. I don't know how that trained
in for this, but he's like, I didn't even know
we were doing this. So the taco bell fifty k. Wow,

(20:28):
that is just wild.

Speaker 3 (20:29):
No, thank you.

Time Now for the question of the day, with my
beautiful bride Heidi giving the answer. Do you have the
answer yet? I do know you don't even know the question.
Here we go. Thirty three percent of people admit they
don't know how to properly use this household item? What
is it? I kind of know how he isn't You're
so much better at this. I have no idea dishwasher.
I never know if I'm doing it right because I'm like,
did I put am I supposed to put these in?

Or are these already the dishwasher? But I'm just saying
I when I open it, I look in there and
I'm like, are these cleaner?

Speaker 5 (21:31):
These?

Speaker 2 (21:31):

We all know and love the fabulous Mike Tyson.

Speaker 2 (22:01):
Oh yeah, and he's funny.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
He's had some very interesting quotes. I don't know, maybe
he's taken a few too many blows to the head,
or because some of this just doesn't make sense. So
I have some for over the next few days. The
first one is I have to dream and reach for
the stars, and if I miss a star, then I
grab a handful of clouds. What does that mean?

Speaker 2 (22:26):
I don't know, but I do want that stitch on
a shirt.

Speaker 3 (22:29):
Time is like a book. You have a beginning, a middle,
and an end. It's just a cycle. And then the
final one is you have to feel comfortable being uncomfortable.
I'm always comfortable being uncomfortable, and to be comfortable being uncomfortable,
I have to hone my discipline, which to me is
doing what I have to do, but also doing it

(22:50):
like I love it. I have no idea what that meant.

Speaker 2 (22:54):
Believe it or not, I understood every bit of that.
I need that stitch on a shirt as well. It's
gonna have to be a really really.

Speaker 3 (23:00):
Don't have to be a big shirt.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
All right. That is something special with Heidi Small.

Speaker 5 (23:06):
I'm Chris from Izzy Jim.

Speaker 6 (23:07):

Speaker 2 (23:36):
Time now for the list. I have the ten worst
toys of twenty twenty five according to the watch group
that's World Against Toys Causing Harm. Okay, so they're not numbered,
but I'll just start at the bottom of the list
and work my way up. Blocks Fruits, Amber Dragon, Ultimate Bundle,
The rigid horn poses blunt force and puncture injuries. Ultimate

(23:58):
Makeup Kit. There's some chemicals that can cause allergic reaction.
Little QTS Doll, thin cord headband poses a choking hazard.
Snackles Disney Mini. It's a plush toy marketed for infants,
but there's a suffocation hazard. Sheep Dog Puppet it loses
fibers and could cause ingestion injuries. So that's not good.
A giggle scape snack playset rigid utensil risk puncture and

(24:22):
ingestion injuries. So it's got the name Gigglin and how
bad could it be? NERF pro gelfire, igniter blaster. I
need one of these high speed rounds eye injuries. So
anything with the word igniter in it is a toy
that I need. Shape sorder, xylophone. There's a rigid drumstick
and it poses ingestion hazards, Marvel Avengers, Hulk, Gamma smash fists.

Speaker 3 (24:44):
You want to post this list because.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
It encourages hitting and blunt force injuries. Well, it's got
a fist. Of course you're gonna get some goo. Slingers
is the last thing on here. There's a projectile toy,
so it shoots goo and apparently there's some eye injury
risks involved in the So there you go. I've got
the whole list and the show notes for today at
johnndeidishow dot com.

Speaker 4 (25:05):

I think this is kind of a cool story. A

(25:27):
family on vacation at Disney invites strangers to join them
after seeing the baby's heartbreaking story. So, in the middle
of a Disney getaway, a family saw a heartbreaking story
about a baby with only two weeks to live. With
an act of pure kindness, they contacted the parents. Total strangers.
Didn't know these people, and they invited them to join
them for their magical vacation.

Speaker 1 (25:47):
Ah.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
How amazing is that Zayden was born with a thing
called hypoplasty and it left it like a heart injury
of some sort. Anyway, a bunch of medical challenges from
the very begin and you can read through all of
the details here. I'm going to say all these words wrong,
so I'm going to just skip them and just say
this kid had a lot of issues. And the sad
thing is they found out that kid's not going to

(26:10):
be with us much more so this couple they decided, Hey,
you know what, we're going to Disney, Let's get a
couple more tickets and invite them my gosh to spend
some time with us. So they got a message on
Facebook that just said, Hey, we're down here at Disney.
If I can get you down here, would that be
doable for you guys? And it worked out. So they
found flights, they found tickets, they already had a place,

(26:31):
they got a rental car for them. So for this
couple that doesn't even know this other couple, they just
went above and beyond to make sure that even though
they don't have a lot of time left with their kiddos,
that they're going to get to do something fun with
this kid. I mean, how cool is that beautiful? I
think that's an amazing story. I've got a link to it.
It's in the show notes for today at John andandeidishow
