Speaker 4 (01:11):
So today is Ludifisk Day.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Okay, you know what ludifisk is? I do.
Speaker 4 (01:16):
If any of you grew up with families that that
are of Norwegian descent, you know what ludifisk is. And
my family used to get together every single year around
Christmas time and have a Ludifisk dinner in the basement
of the Lutheran Church and it was like everybody, it
was so many people. And so the drink that I
(01:39):
found to pair with this day is called whiskey in church.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Oh that's why.
Speaker 4 (01:44):
He Scotch sherry, maple syrup, smoke, cherry bitters and a
lemon twist. And trust me, if you're going to a
lutifis dinner, you're gonna need.
Speaker 3 (01:54):
Lots of whisky. I've got a link to the drink.
It's in the show Notts for Today at on and

Now. Surveys and studies and such, they say that after
a while, dogs and our owners start to look alike. Well,
it turns out they start to share the same personality too.
According to a survey, eighty one percent of those with
dogs feel that their dog was meant to be their dog.
Seventy four percent say their pupp mirrors them, and energy
and social habits and emotional sensitivity. Introverts tend to report shy, calm,
(02:55):
cautious dogs. Extroverts far more likely to have friendly, affectionate,
energetic pups. Two thirds even call their dogs quote an
emotional twin. Over half describe their pet as a soulmate.
Over All, the research highlights a deep emotional bond and
shows that our dogs often reflect who we are. Here
are the top traits people said that they share with
their dog in order, friendly, affectionate, energetic, easy going, and independent.
(03:19):
There you go, And I'm trying to figure out which
of our dogs is like me and which of our
dogs is like you.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
I think Cassie is probably more like me.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Yeah, Cassie is the older dog. I'll reach over to
pet her and she growls at me, and Heidi does
the same thing. I'll reach over to put my hand
on her arms, like ah. And then the other dog
is just the happiest dog off the walls. She's kind
of an idiot, but she's also Yeah, we're probably emotional twins.

(04:11):
their landmark sale recently, netting a massive two point six
million dollars, the first of us kind, offering fans a
chance to own original pieces from Frago, Rock and Labyrinth
and many.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Other heysin unlimited budget.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
I sent this over to my wife.
Speaker 4 (04:26):
I would have loved some Frago.
Speaker 3 (04:28):
I said, if there's anything on her.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
Actual Muppet stuff, I would have been, Oh, if.
Speaker 3 (04:32):
There's anything on her we can afford. I'll get this
for you for Christmas. And she says back, one is
like nine thousand dollars. I'm like, Merry Christmas. I'll do
a screenshot of this. Jennifer Lopez, who has worn six
engagement rings in her lifetime, might make her a bit
of an expert because she's now the face of a
jewelry company. Zen Diamond, the four time divorce Diva and
(04:53):
six time engaged Diva, paid ten million dollars to Hawks
Sparklers for this Turkish brand. She's getting ten million bucks
to sell rings and Michael B. Jordan has confirmed that
the Creed franchise is expanding both on the big screen
and on television. So there's a couple of things coming
out called Creed four. And then there's another thing, a
series spin off, and it's about the daughter so Adonnas
(05:17):
Creek's daughter Amara, So we'll see all of that in
the coming year.

Did you know that sharks can live for five centuries?
A greenland shark is one of the longest living vertebrates
on Earth. Some of these sharks can live for more
than five hundred years, making them the longest living animals
known to science. Their slow metabolism and frigid Arctic habitat
easy for me to say, contribute to their incredible lifespan.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
And they might be able to live longer than that.
But the only way to tell is cut them in
half and count the rings.
Speaker 3 (06:17):
So how old was that one? I was five hundred years?
We should probably stop cutting them in out. I don't
think that's how it works. We don't know everything, but
now we know.

beautiful bride, Heidi Small. What do you have for me?
Speaker 6 (06:48):
Heidi?
Speaker 4 (06:49):
How do you break up a fight between two blind guys?
You just say stop it, yo, My money's on the
guy with the knife.
Speaker 3 (06:58):
Yeah, that'd probably do the trick too. Yeah, don't do
any of that. That is your joke of the day
on the John and Heidi Show.
Speaker 1 (07:07):
I'm Chris from Izzy Jim.

Time now for the scoop of the day. According to
some reports, the US government is considering raising the retirement
age to seventy So here's the thing. At the end
of the day, you retire when you're ready to retire.
I know people who retired very early. I know people
who never retired. I know people who retired late. When
it comes right down to it, you do you how's
that sound? And this holiday season, some of the hottest
(07:58):
toys are not for kids. They are for and not
just grown ups, but grown ups that have money. American
Girls limited edition Wicked Collectors series dolls feature Glinda inspired
by Ariana Grande and elf Elphaba. Am I saying it right,
modeled after Cynthia Rivo. I don't know these names. I'm sorry. Anyway,
the people from that film, you know, Wicked. They sold
(08:21):
out almost immediately, and resellers on eBay are selling them
now for about two thousand dollars. There are only six
hundred Glinda's and six thousand elf buzz that made them
very rare collectible items, so I wonder why there was
sixty eight one, Yeah, sixty eight hundred of this and
six thousand. Anyway, fans have been posting unboxing videos displaying
(08:45):
glittering down bendable limbs and microbraids. Now these dolls have
pajama sets that are up for sale for hundreds of
dollars online. Originally, by the way, they were two hundred
and ninety five dollars apiece, so even brand new, they
were expended. The Wicked collectibles have sparked a frenzy reminiscent
of Tickle Me Almomania, but this time it's twenty somethings,
(09:08):
nostalgia and social media cloud that's driving the magic, proving
that in twenty twenty five, the hottest holiday accessory might
just be a whole bunch of extra cash, because then
you can, you know, buy whatever you want. Apparently that
is your scoop of the day on The John and
Heidi Show.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Hey, he's here, my father in law. Hello, sir, how
are you?
Speaker 8 (09:56):
I swear to God, I'm not coming back for a
least next week.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
Yeah. He says that every every at least six weeks,
we were excited to have you here.
Speaker 8 (10:05):
Yeah, how come the door was locked?
Speaker 2 (10:08):
Man?
Speaker 3 (10:09):
Well, I noticed he brought your luggage with this time
he's leaving for real, he says, So what kind of stuff.
Speaker 8 (10:15):
You have for We're gonna call this Wisdom Day. Oh
this is stuff that everybody should know. Okay, good, good good.
Did you know that laughter increases the activity of antibodies
in the body by twenty percent?
Speaker 3 (10:26):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (10:27):
Nice, oh nice?
Speaker 8 (10:28):
Helping destroy viruses and tumor cells.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
So you could like very nice. Somebody could laugh themselves better.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
They say laughter is the best medicine. I've said it forever.
Speaker 8 (10:37):
And just verified it. So there you go.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
That is true.
Speaker 3 (10:40):
Well that's good to know.
Speaker 8 (10:40):
I like that, So don't be such a grump.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
I'm not a grump. Why does it look at me?
Speaker 8 (10:45):
A little driving incident the other day?
Speaker 3 (10:47):
Yeah, we had.
Speaker 4 (10:48):
We had a road rage incident.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
You guys weren't even with me, and I believe we
heard about it. My daughter exaggerated out a bunch.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
She don't think so.
Speaker 3 (10:56):
I think she exaggerated a bunch.
Speaker 8 (10:57):
Sounded pretty good to me.
Speaker 3 (11:00):
That was a little upset.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
Okay. The sentence, are you as bored as I am?
Can be read backwards and still makes sense.
Speaker 3 (11:10):
Are you as bored as I am? It's the same boat.
Speaker 4 (11:12):
As bored as you are?
Speaker 8 (11:13):
Are you as bored as I am? And I am
as bored as you are.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
I don't know how we did that, but let's go
with it. It sounds good.
Speaker 8 (11:22):
I hear you write that down, so we can check
it out.
Speaker 3 (11:24):
And check that later. Check your math later.
Speaker 8 (11:27):
On that way, Tell a girl main times she's not fat.
She'll never believe you. Yeah, call her fat one, call
her fat once. She'll never forget it.
Speaker 3 (11:36):
That's true.
Speaker 4 (11:37):
That is true.
Speaker 3 (11:38):
Yeah, don't do that.
Speaker 8 (11:39):
Yeah, that's what I'm telling you.
Speaker 3 (11:41):
Yeah, Yeah, that's true. This is wisdom, folks, wisdom.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
Remember that.
Speaker 8 (11:44):
Keep this in mind. Cheat yous think everyone cheats. Liars
think everyone lies.
Speaker 4 (11:48):
That is true. Yeah, that is absolutely true.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
A cheating liar told me that, or a lion cheater.
Speaker 8 (11:57):
One last thing here for you, all right, what's that?
If you don't do stupid things while you're young, you'll
have nothing to smile about when you're older.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
That's so true.
Speaker 8 (12:05):
I'll be smiling until Oh.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
My gosh, me too. I did so many stupid things.
Speaker 8 (12:09):
I'm still doing them. What are you talking about?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
Yeah, that's true, That's very true. That's one of my
favorite things this time of year. You know, a lot
of families get together the same of year, and I
get together with my family, and we always talk about
We never talked about the good things we did when young.
We always talk about the dumbest things that we did. Look,
you remember that time we did this? And then we
just sit and laugh, and I leave with a sore
face from smiling so much. So that is the best.
(12:31):
You're right, Charlie, do dumb things while you're young, because
you might not be able.
Speaker 2 (12:35):
To do them when you're older.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
That's right, you're ready for some questions of yap. All right?
Have you ever heard the word a Latin word circa?
Speaker 4 (12:41):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (12:42):
What do you think that word means? In Latin? What
do you think the word circa means? So if they
say like circa nineteen fifty five, what does it mean?
Speaker 4 (12:50):
I don't know.
Speaker 3 (12:51):
I have no idea around. So it doesn't mean it
was Okay, Yeah, it doesn't necessarily mean it was likeineteen
fifty five.
Speaker 4 (12:58):
It was just around that time around.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
It's just it's a much smarter way of saying it.
It's not wisdom, Charlie, wisdom. We're talking wisdom this week.
Speaker 8 (13:06):
No, we're not.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
We're we're all done with wisdom, all right. Sometimes use
to indicate weight, and octothorpe is also known as what
what is an octothorp?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
You both are going to know this one.
Speaker 4 (13:19):
I have no idea.
Speaker 3 (13:21):
A pound sign, a hashtag, or a number sign, that's
an octothorpe.
Speaker 4 (13:25):
I have never heard that.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
The little tic tac toe thing, Yeah, that's an Octothorp.
All right, you want another one. I'm making nothing up.
All right, Charlie, I'll give this one to Charlie. Heidi,
don't cheat, Charlie. On a standard computer keyboard like this
thing in front of me, standard computer keyboard. What is
the only vowel that is not on the top row
of letters? Because like I see W E R, that's
(13:46):
a vowel. And then we get over here, there's a U,
there's an IOH. You though, so what's the only one
that's not on the top row?
Speaker 1 (13:54):
He yes, A it is.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
I was hoping you get that, right, lad you're ready
to answer? Were you?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
No?
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I didn't know it.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
You didn't know that.
Speaker 1 (14:04):
I didn't know I.
Speaker 3 (14:05):
Thought you would.
Speaker 8 (14:06):
Younger generation.
Speaker 3 (14:10):
Well, Charlie, it's always a pleasure. Thanks for stopping in.
Speaker 8 (14:13):
I'm not coming back.
Speaker 3 (14:14):
You know what you said. We'll be calling you next week.
By John Bye bye. My father in law right there.

so here go. It's from nineteen seventy two. I'm gonna
make him an offer he can't refuse.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
Godfather.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yeah, if you didn't know that, who said it? You know?
Speaker 4 (15:18):
Vitat was Michael Corley.

See more game show facts for you. Okay, Pat Sajak
and Vana White always wrote the puzzles for Wheel of Fortune,
so that's where those came from. Nice Nickelodeon's nineteen eighties
kid game show Double Dare. Do you remember Double I Loved?
Double Dare produced its first seasons in Philadelphia. It dumped
(16:17):
slime on contestants, which was called ghak. It was yeah,
and that name was taken from Philadelphia street slang for heroin.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Oh wow, did you know that ghak was? Apparently That's
why I've always just called it slime.
Speaker 4 (16:34):
And then singer Bert Convoy and actor Burt Reynolds created Win,
Lose or Draw. Do you remember when los draw? So
did I. It was a rip off of the board
game Pictionary. It ran from nineteen eighty seven to nineteen
ninety and it pitted two celebrity teams against each other
in a drawing game much like Pictionary, and it was
(16:55):
shot on a set designed to look exactly like reynolds
living room where he and con I conceive the series.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
I love that you do too, find one. I think
that's really cool and that's news to me. It's also
news to me.

Fun fact for you, Heidi. The difference between jam and
jelly is that jam is made with mashed up fruit,
while jelly is made with fruit juice. So if you
see jam, there's mashed up fruit in there.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Okay, there you go.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Fun fact for the names of all the continents and
with the same letter that they start with. It's kind
of cool, huh, going through in my head? America? Okay,
all right, how about India? That must not be a contest.
Fun fact for you, Heidi. What's that Earth used to
be covered with giant mushrooms that were twenty four feet
(18:13):
tall and three feet wide instead of trees.
Speaker 4 (18:16):
I don't know how they know that.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Okay, some guy figured it out. Fun fact for you
hiding the short name. I'm sorry For a short time
the planet Uranus was actually named George like that. I
think that would have been cool there.
Speaker 4 (18:28):
Just kept it in amongst all the other planet names
and George George.
Speaker 3 (18:33):
And one final fun fact for you, Heidi, John, people
who swear a lot tend to be more honest, upfront
and loyal with their friends, partners, and family. And I
agree as I point.
Speaker 4 (18:42):
To Heidi, I'm very honest.
Speaker 3 (18:43):

for some weird news. Black Friday chaos hit Walmart when
Crafts limited Edition Mac Friday Box vanished in seconds. A
(19:11):
novelty item designed to look like a sixty five inch
flat TV with sixty five boxes of macaroni and cheese inside,
went on sale right after midnight Friday on Black Friday
and the KDTV, which was again Kraft TV. Dinner is
what their craft dinners whatever. Maybe that's not what they
(19:31):
called it. That might just be what they called it
in This story drew a huge hype from influencers and
bargain hunters. Many shoppers camped out at Walmart just to
get it. The price was nineteen dollars and thirty seven cents.
They sold out instantly. Some people complained that it disappeared
from their carts as they were trying to pay, so
apparently somebody grabbed it and stole it. Here's the thing,
it's macaroni and cheese. You guys stood in line to
(19:56):
buy nineteen dollars worth of macaroni and cheese. That just
seems odd to me. You might want to check your
priorities in life. Weird news on the John and Heidi Show.

Time Now for the question of the day for my
beautiful bride, Heidi Small. A study show is forty one
percent of people own two of these? What are they?
Forty one percent of people own two of these? I have?
It is yeah, smartphones. So I was gonna say I
have two, you have just one?
Speaker 4 (20:54):
You have just one?
Speaker 3 (20:55):
Yeah. I actually really officially kind of only have one
now because I had service on a second one. Now
it's just one. My comedian friends called that my burner
phone was recording comedy sets where they're like, oh, John's

that freaks me out.
Speaker 3 (21:56):
Okay, you're not a historian.
Speaker 4 (22:00):

on Reddit. Do you know what that was?
Speaker 2 (22:54):
Like?
Speaker 3 (22:54):
One of the busiest websites on the internet? Reddit?
Speaker 4 (22:57):
No.
Speaker 3 (22:57):
Yeah, there's a lot of stuff on there. What is
one of purchased that you were hyped to make in
your twenties that now just collects dust? So is there
anything that when you were young you're like, oh, I
got to have this, and then now you're like, I
never use this.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
I honestly can't think of anything. So Professor I get
rid of things that I don't want anymore.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
She's tidy, Heidi, she gets rid of everything. Professional office clothes.
They're like like a nice tailored jacket and dress, dance
You're like, now they hang in the closet and.
Speaker 4 (23:21):
Never use Most people are working from home.
Speaker 3 (23:23):
A flask. So somebody bought one of those twenties and
I never use it. Heid He's like, I got one
on me right now. An ice cream maker. They said,
I haven't used that forever. A juicer. I thought I
was going to juice my way to success. Now it's
just sitting on there with all my other regrets. My
vinyl collection. I know a lot of people that have that.
They say they rarely listen to it. But here's the thing.
You're going to be glad you have that someday. My airfryer.
(23:45):
It sits in a box in my entryway. Makes a
nice table to collect very much.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
I do use my air fryer quite a bit. But
I've got like an all in one thing. It's a
toaster and air fryer, a oven.
Speaker 3 (23:55):
There's two other things on the list here a suit
for job interviews as a new grad. And the last
thing on the list that you made a purchase in
your twenties at NOL collects dust my peloton. That is
the list on The John and Heidi Show.

(24:29):
nine year old is making the holidays brighter for hundreds
of six children central Ohio. A big hearted nine year
old is on a mission to make the holidays brighter
one teddy bear at a time. Jack has turned his
home into what he lovingly calls Teddybear HQ, and the
place is overflowing with plush smiles. And one month alone,
Jack has gathered hundreds of stuff bears that he's donating
(24:52):
to young patients who spend the holidays at nationwide children hospitals.
His mission has a name too, It's called Jack's break
Bears or Jack's Bravery Bears. There we go this, Each
child who gets one will be a little bit braver.
It all started when our family volunteered last year to
make blankets for kids at nationwide he said, while helping out,
(25:13):
he suddenly had a thought, wouldn't it be nice for
kids to have a teddy bear to go with their blanket.
That simple idea turned his first Teddy Bear Drive, where
he collected four hundred and fifty five bears, and now
this year he's aiming for a bigger goal of five
hundred bears. Neighbors, church friends, classmates, community members all jumped
in to help him. Bags and boxes of bears are
(25:34):
still rolling in, but he said the best part isn't
the growing pile of plush bears. It's imagining how much
each joy each of these bears will bring. They are
going to be so happy.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
Yeah, that's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (25:47):
If you're interested in helping him on his mission, they
do have a GoFundMe set up and people have been
donating to that to help them purchase bears and package
bears and do all the things. I've got a link
to all of that. It's in the show notes for
today at John endeidishow dot com. Time sake, Bye, Heidie, goodbye, Heide, goodbye, everybody.
