doing that, I'll be having a gingerbread house cocktail.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
Is that what the plan is?
Speaker 4 (01:40):
And it's made with gingerbread syrup, dark rum, lime juice,
sherry and angosturrup bitters. I bet it's really good.
Speaker 2 (01:49):
Sounds interesting. I've got a link to that drink and

Now, surveys and studies and such. New study is confirmed
what most parents already knew. Teens are becoming the major
decision makers when it comes to family travel. So if
you've got kiddo's it's like you don't want to go there,
I don't want to do that, and they get their way.
Luxury travel firm Scott Done found seventy percent of teens
suggest destinations to their mom and dad. Forty percent managed
(02:48):
to change their parents' plans thanks to what researchers would
call pastor power.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:54):
The poll found that teens rely heavily on YouTube and
social media for travel inspiration places like Italy, Japan, South Korea,
and France, other destinations that offer great food, instagrammables, instagrammable scenery,
or pop culture tie ins. Experts say the travel industry
is finally taking notice of the vacation planning power of teens,
(03:15):
with resorts adding things like VR experiences many SPA treatments.
They suggest parents choose hotels with style and central locations
and then plan hands on high energy activities.
Speaker 4 (03:27):
So I don't know about your family. We never took
vacations like that.
Speaker 3 (03:30):
We didn't as a team.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
So I remember we went to the same place every
single weekend. It was the lake and it was a cabin.

(04:14):
folks that are really into that. Rick Flair, what's that?
Speaker 4 (04:17):
So many people just super into that? Yeah.
Speaker 2 (04:20):
Rick Flair claims that Hulk Hogan's death could be a
result of illegal pain medication. So he's like, yeah, that's
what I think it's from. So you know, doctor Rick
Flair would would probably not know he's not somebody's telling
me he's not a doctor. Jada Pinkett Smith is being
sued for three million bucks by a former associate who
says she physically threatened him. So that's not good, okay.

Did you know a blue whale's tongue weighs as much
as an elephant?
Speaker 4 (05:41):
I think we might have talked about this.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
One weighs as much as an adult elephant, about four
thousand pounds. A massive ton is needed to help the
whale processes enormous food intake of krill. It consumes up
to four tons of food every single day, so it's
a whole lot of food. We don't know everything, but
now we still know this.

Speaker 4 (06:22):
Man walks into a bar and he says, what's the
Wi Fi password? Bartender says, you have to buy a
drink first. Man says, okay, I'll take a coke. How
much is that? Bartender says three dollars. The man says, okay,
So what's the password Bartender says, you have to buy
a drink first? No, space is all lowercase.
Speaker 2 (06:40):
That's actually a really smart password. Eh, look at that.
I love it. That is the joke of the day
on the John and Heidi Show.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
I'm Chris from Mizzey Jim.

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Time now for the scoop of the day. This is
kind of sad this year. Mall Santas are trying to
lower the expectations of children because of the economy. So
Kitt'll sit down and say I want this and this
and this, and Santa is like one or two things,
maybe probably not all those things. So I'm just sad
to hear that when it's even affected the North Pole,
you know.
Speaker 5 (07:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
And Oxford University Press has named rage bait as their
word of the Year this year. The phrase refers to
online content that is deliberately designed to elicit anger or
outrage by being frustrating, provocative, or downright offensive, with the
aim of driving traffic to a social media account. Oxford
said rage bait topped two other contenders, Aura farming and
(08:04):
bio hack. I've heard of bio hack quite a bit,
but aura farming I've not heard. It means to cultivate
public image by presenting oneself to convey an air of confidence, coolness,
or mystique end quote. Isn't that just public relations? That's
kind of what that is. And biohack is defined as
an attempt to improve or optimize optimize one's physical or
(08:26):
mental performance, health, or longevity end quote. So I don't know.
I think that the word they chose, rage bait is
probably the right word. Have you seen that a lot
on your social media where things are done intentionally wrong
to get people to say that it's wrong.
Speaker 4 (08:43):
Not really, I guess I've not paid mony.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
I see it a lot where they'll say there's only
there's only one way to solve this, and there's like
seven yeah, now there's seven ways to say.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
Now there's only how many words both start and end
with you? There's only this many and there was.
Speaker 2 (08:57):
Like twelve years anyway. Scoop of the Day on The

You can get all of the details for free right
now at jascasemedical dot Com excited to visit right now
with Jimmy Hawkins, and he is an actor that was
in a bunch of great movies and TV shows, but
one of my favorite movies of all time, It's a
Wonderful Life. And he's got a new book out called
the Heart of It's a Wonderful Life, and we're going
to chat a little bit about that. What was it
(09:30):
like working with the amazing crew on this fantastic movie.
Speaker 8 (09:34):
It was great. I remember things vividly. You know. I
did over forty movies and three hundred TV shows, but
for some reason, I remember as if they were yesterday,
the different scenes that Frank Capra gave me directions to,
whether I was sitting on Jimmy Stewart slapp or calling
its cotale excuse to myself. They're vivid. I remember waking
(09:56):
up early in the morning it was still dark, and
we would take bus in street cars out to Culver
City to do the film. And the Bailey kids worked
for twelve days on the movie and it was a
great experience and people were Everybody was so nice, you know,
Frank Kapper was so patient explaining different things. Donna Reid
(10:20):
had a wonderful, warm touch in that scene where our
dad's going ballistic and she pulls me towards them. And then,
of course, ten years later I was signed to do
the very first Donna Reed show ever made, and it
was a great experience, and eight years later I was
(10:42):
still doing the show. So Donna Reed and I go
back a long long ways, and I sat on the
board of directors for her festival and Foundations for over
twenty five years, and everybody and had made friendships read
reuniting with the Bailey kids back in ninety three, I
think it was, and then we've been together ever since,
(11:04):
doing talks to people who went to Irang the Bell,
the Stock Exchange, took the film to Attica Prison for
the the inmates to see, and then came in one
night at six o'clock and met with all of them
for Q and A. I answer any questions you want,
but I have the first question. Did you see anywhere
in the film that George Bailey is getting a second
(11:25):
chance at life just like you're getting a second chance
here at Attica? Do you see any correlation there? And
oh my god, these inmates were raising their hands talking
about things. They had notes about the movie and ask questions,
but they all shared that with us that they understand
they are getting a second chance, like George Bailey did.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
When the movie came out, it was not a huge blockbuster,
but now because it's on TV all the time, it's
a huge hit. I kind of wish the people from
the nineteen forties could see what they missed.
Speaker 8 (11:56):
Well. The thing is that they didn't need that sage then,
but they needed it later. And you know, I believe
that we have a plan for our lives, but God
has a plan also, and God's plan is better. Caapra
thought I'll make the picture. He got up for five oscars,
won nothing didn't understand, and he said, this is the
(12:16):
greatest film I've ever made. In fact, I think it's
the greatest film anybody made. Him what happened, but he
got to live long enough that in like as you said,
in nineteen seventy six, somebody dropped the copyright and that
allowed it to be shown on television for free, and
stations all over the United States took feed to that
(12:37):
because oh it's free, and so they showed it and
people got to see the message. Childon Leonard and I
were talking one day he was doing a saying some
words for the Donna Reed Foundation Festival that he couldn't
make it to, but he wanted to send a message
back to everybody. And we were talking about the movie
(12:58):
being such a PLoP. Then you know something, Jimmy, I've
thought about that, and you know the movie never changed,
he said, the people change. They need that, and then
see it's more than ever because they see in that
movie that we're all important, we can all make a difference.
One man can make a difference. And they see that,
(13:18):
they go, I just go to work, im home, have
a beer, watch this, do that? What have I done?
But they realized by seeing that film, just like George Bailey,
he didn't think he was doing anything, but he got
to see what life would have been like and it
turned out to be Pottersville, and he saw, Wow, look
what one man can do. And that's what the people
(13:41):
in seventy six to today see. I am important. I mean something.
One man can make a difference. I don't need to
be the best looking person in the world or have
a billion dollars. I can make a difference. I can
touch somebody's life and change their whole life one second.
Speaker 3 (14:00):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (14:01):
Jimmy, thank you so much for taking the time to chat.
We appreciate you, sir.
Speaker 8 (14:04):
Yeah, thank you for having me. Merry Christmas.
Speaker 2 (14:06):

Time now for the movie quote of the day with
my beautiful Brian Heidi again the easiest list in the world.
If there's any of this she gets wrong, this could
be it. It's from two thousand and eight. Okay, why
so serious?
Speaker 4 (14:59):
That was from man.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
It was the Joker, the Dark Knight. Yeah, the Joker,
And I was going to try to say it like
why so serious. I still didn't do it as why
so serious? That would have just given it away for sure.
But that is your movie quote of the Day with
my beautiful bride, Heidie.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
So, I've got some not quite extinct animals, like animals
that they thought were just gone wiped off the face
of the earth, but they're now they're finding them.
Speaker 7 (15:51):
Oh so cool.
Speaker 4 (15:53):
This first one is called I'm not even sure how
to say it, flatty ghanis plata platagonis. It's a herbivore
that weighed about one hundred pounds and looked like a taller, leaner,
less impressive warthog Okay. By the end of the Last
Ice Age, about eleven thousand years ago, it had evolved
(16:15):
to a cattagonists thought to be the last step in
the creature's journey. So they were thought to have gone
extinct just like that thousands of years ago, but not quite.
Not only did the genus not the genus genus not
(16:35):
die out, but it continued to evolve. In the nineteen seventies,
naturalists discovered are heard not far from where fossil the
fossil was discovered, because there had been a fossil found
of this thing, so it wasn't far from where that
fossil was found. They sall, hey, this thing's alive. There's
one walking around. Indigenous people in the Chaco region were
(16:56):
aware of the creature, and mainstream scientists had just never
invested to gated that area, so they're all over the place. Nice,
they're still alive.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Look they're extinct. Like, dude, look to your left. No,
I'm not looking at the left.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
They're extinct.
Speaker 4 (17:09):
I like that when I hear about those things, and anyway,
that's news to me.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
That is also news to me.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
I'm Chris from Izzy Jim.
Speaker 6 (17:16):

Fun fact for a Heidi, what's that?
Speaker 4 (17:47):
John?
Speaker 2 (17:47):
Sea lions are the only only animal that can clap
to a beat other than you know, some humans.
Speaker 3 (17:52):
Oh cute, some humans.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
I would like to see that.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Not all what me clapping to a beat? Fun fact
for a hiding and made it. Three to five percent
of people are afflicted with musical ana donia. It's a
disorder in which they suffer. The sufferer is incapable of
enjoying music. That would be horrible. Three to five percent
of people cannot enjoy music. That seems like a big number.
(18:16):
Fun fact for you, Heidi, what's the average woman has
seventeen square feet of skin. It stretches to eighteen and
a half square feet during pregnancy.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
Crazy wow.
Speaker 2 (18:24):
Fun fact for Aheady what horses can kick backwards, forwards
and sideways. That's why they should probably sign up for soccer. No,
maybe not. Fun fact for Ahead According to a report,
faking the moon landing would have cost three times what
it costs for NASA to actually go to the Moon.
So they're like, yeah, it would have been a lot
more expensive. One more reason. I'm sure the government probably
(18:46):
did it. Yeah, you know, it's always the anyway. Several
fun facts now, you know, thanks for listening to The
John and Heidie Show.

for some weird news. Scientists may have found a way
to repair tooth enamel using hair huh lab tests A
(19:16):
formula In lab tests, a formula based on keratin, a
protein found in human hair, restored early enamel damage, improving strength,
and appearance and even stopping decay. What applied to teeth,
the keratin formed a crystal like layer that attracted minerals
from saliva, creating a durable, enamel like coating. Researchers at
King's College, London say it could eventually be added to
(19:39):
toothpaste or other dental treatments, though more testing is needed
to confirm safety and practicality. So inter hair plus saliva
equals new teeth. What that just seems a bit odd
to me, But it's also pretty cool. But you gotta
admit it's kind of weird. That's why it landed right
here as today's We're News on the John and Heidi Show.

What is it?
Speaker 4 (20:41):
Write a letter to Santa?
Speaker 2 (20:42):
No, they'll cry on Santa's lap. Thirty eight percent. That's
a lot of kids that are crying on Santa's lap.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
That's not a job I would want.
Speaker 2 (20:51):
No, it's not a fun thing. That is your question

You've just contradicted yourself. But I'm trying to be man,
I'm trying so hard.
Speaker 2 (21:37):

I do too. And I've heard that quote before. I
actually really love that because it's absolutely true.

all one asked for I want to remote control buffalo. Okay,
that's a thing. I want a unicorn that poops rainbows.
These are real things. I would like to get some plutonium. Hello,
(22:49):
somebody was hungry. They just asked for lasagna. You know what,
that's what's easy. I kind of want some of that.
A live octopus or a live shark. Another one said,
I want to change my name to Batman. That's not Santa,
that does that.
Speaker 3 (23:03):
A kid.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Another hungry kid asks for a gallon of pickles, a
live penguin or polar bear, a flying pony, a lifetime

to wrap things up around here with good news, and
we've had a lot of good news. This is the
(23:56):
best time of year for good news, by the way,
because there's always some good news stories that have something
to do with the holiday season. This one here is
kind of a cool story too. Three first graders saved
their teacher's life. Oh wow, This happened in Virginia. They're
being hailed as heroes because their quick thinking and their
teamwork helped save the life of their teacher during a
(24:16):
very frightening moment in the classroom. So this teacher is
twenty three Madison Swift. She was teaching her first grade,
first year as an educator, by the way, teaching her class,
and she was eating at the same time. She was
like eating some food while she was the kids were
doing their thing. Well, she started to choke. She couldn't breathe.
That's when three of her students, seven year old Colton,
(24:38):
six year old Derek, and also six year old Bryson,
immediately realized something was wrong. They jumped into action in
their own way. Derek first ran and pressed the classroom's
emergency button, and then the Bryson sprinted out of the
room to get help from a teacher that was closer,
like right across the hallway. Colton stayed by the teacher's side,
(25:00):
rubbing her on the back and like patting on trying
to get anyway swift. The teacher recalls those back blows work.
The food was dislodged. It helps quickly, says they one
hundred percent saved my life, praising these boys for their
courage and their quick thinking.
Speaker 4 (25:16):
That is amazing. I love that.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
So these guys are first graders and their teacher again
was choking and they saved life.
