Now, Surveys and studies and such don't believe that old
line about Christmas being for kids. According to a poll,
more than half of parents get just as excited about
their kids when it's time to unwrap.
Speaker 4 (02:22):
The Oh yeah, for sure, I always did.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Two thousand millennial parents were asked about gifts an average
of fifty one times over the holiday season by their kids,
so fifty one times. Moms and dads were also asked
about how they kept those gifts a secret from their children.
Two in three, so sixty three percent said isn't an
easy way saying it just say. Sixty three percent said
(02:45):
they disguise the gifts as something else. Thirty four percent
of their kids find decoy gifts to throw them off,
so they get something that's not good, they wrap it
and they have it so it's really easy to go
and they're like, I'm getting a sweater, So all I'm
getting as a sweater. Fifty five percent of the time
parents said they'd admitted that they forgot where they hit
the real gifts.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Oh no, yeah, that would be awful.
Speaker 2 (03:06):
Most commonplace to hide them closet, parents' bedroom, in the car,
in the basement, in the garage. More creative places hiding
gifts at a family or friends home, in the attic,
in a suitcase, out in the shed, at work, inside appliances,
or not a good place in the trash. Don't do that.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
Oh no, don't do that.

Hugh Jackman is singing the praises of Kate Hudson, two
decades after the Academy Awards last nominated her. He believes
Hudson will finally strike gold in March with the song
Sung Blue. So that'd be good. I would love for that.
Tara Reid made the news recently. She claimed that she
was drugged at a hotel back in November. But the
(04:26):
police are saying there's no video evidence, so this has
turned into kind of a big deal anyway. She's they're saying, oh,

Heidi. Did you know that apples float because they're twenty
five percent air?
Speaker 4 (05:36):
I did not.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Yeah, apples apparently have a unique structure that makes them
float in water. They're made up of about twenty five
percent air, which gives them the buoyant property. So next
time you're bobbing for apples, now you'll know why they
stay afloat.
Speaker 3 (05:48):
Well.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
Interesting, So I wonder where the air is. It's just
like mixed in with everything else. Apparently, should we get
like twenty five percent off apples? Then no, All right,
we don't know where, but now we know this show.

I have no idea a large pizza can feed a

The good news is hard to come by these days,
so when even if it's something little, I'm gonna share it.
(07:50):
Like the return of Gatorade and Snapples classic glass bottles,
it's a nice surprise for those pining for the good
old days.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Well.
Speaker 2 (07:59):
Recently, Gatorade release their Lemon Lime flavor in a retro
glass bottle, packaged in a limited edition time capsule created
in partnership with Stranger Things Now was only sold on
their website. The seventy dollars bundle, Yeah seventy dollars includes

lead with right now. He's got a program out called
The Mighty Oaks. It is streaming right now. And this
is a sports movie. I watched the trailer for it
and it's like a documentary, I think, is how you'd
say it. And it looks good.
Speaker 7 (09:23):
Well, I appreciate the trailer. Wants you to get out
there and get a lacrostick in your hand and go
out there and compete.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (09:29):
I love making this movie. It's truly a sports story
surrounded with a family environment. And I can't tell you
the amount of volunteers that went into making the program
here in Morgan Hill, California's success and being able to
put it on the big screen or your tablet or
(09:52):
your theater and locally, it's an amazing thing. I hope
your listeners will go out and buy it, and it's
going to be a fun, fun, fun film for them to.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
It takes the sea and the things neat. I think
there are a lot of people who have kids that
are involved in sports. When I was growing up, sports
was not as a big, big a deal in my family,
but I know a lot of families it was a
big deal. And now I've got, you know, friends that
their adult lives are all kind of rotating around which
sport their kid is in, and which practice they have
and which games they have. So when those people watch
(10:23):
this movie, They're going to absolutely feel right at home,
aren't they.
Speaker 7 (10:25):
I've said one hundred times that if this is on
the movie, you know, on the back of the seat
on the plane. Everybody's going to watch it because I
see a lot of club club people that are the
soccer or football, or baseball or lacrosse. You're traveling for
your kids team. You're gonna love this movie. These kinds
of these kinds of films are not There's not a
(10:48):
lot of them out there. We uncover the behind the
scenes of a high school team and we go through
the season, but also the tribulations, the triumphs, the failures,
the things that movies are made of.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
And would you refer to this as a documentary? Is
that the right way to say it?
Speaker 1 (11:06):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (11:06):
For sure, it is a sports documentary. Some people call
it Booziers Meet Hoop Dreams. Some people have said that
it's one of those movies that is a love story,
but at the same time it's the love of lacrosse
and community and at the same time it's giving back
and we show all of those things and people are
(11:28):
inspired but by the end of this movie to go
out and volunteer in their communities and throw their having
the ring and say yes.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
Well, And I didn't know if you'd call it a
documentary because like on TV, we watched the same kind
of thing. We call that reality TV, and I didn't
know if there was a different name now if documentary
is the right word, but it because when I think
documentary sometimes I think boring. This is anything but boring, though,
this is This is not boring.
Speaker 7 (11:56):
Oh man, It's interesting because I've always said that if
you like documentaries, you'll like this movie. If you like
sports documentaries, you'll love this movie. If you know anything
about lacrosse, you will think it should win an oscar.
But you're right, it's not reality TV. You know, clip
down to three and a half minutes. This is a movie.
(12:18):
This is a movie that's gonna take you along. You're
gonna love the kids that are involved in it. You're
gonna like the team aspect of it. You're gonna really
follow along and get embraced by some of the challenges
that these kids have in their lives. And the finish,
you got to stay with it. It's it's it's not
(12:40):
a not a it's a movie. It's not a series,
and it's different than we It's kind of old school,
I guess, is what I'd say, not anywhere close to
docu drama. We are following these kids and telling.
Speaker 2 (12:52):
Their story absolutely, and the thing that's cool. It's a
great story. And I like, there's some of these kids
that had never played lacrosse, didn't even know what it
was until all of a sudden they discovered this and
now that is kind of their thing, isn't it.
Speaker 7 (13:05):
And I tell you, this is this is what's so amazing.
I didn't know anything about lacrosse either. I grew up
in San Diego, and you know, I was a baseball guy.
And my kids came home from a summer camp of lacrosse.
They're like, it's the most amazing thing I've ever done.
And I'm like, Okay, that's the kind of passion I
want to see. I don't know anything about this sport,
but let's go try it. And I was like youtubeing
how to teach kids lacrosse and it's just a It's
(13:27):
a story that's happened across the United States everywhere because
it's the fastest growing youth sport in America. Nice You've
got the hotbeds in the East Coast, but not in
the California. This shows how we grew up program from nothing.
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I love it again. Brad led With is our guest
right now the Mighty Oaks. It is available starting right now.
It's on streaming and I'm gonna throw a link to it. Brad,
thank you for your time, but also thank you for
your passion. I love that.

Thank you so much, and we got to spread the
word on coming together and doing something for our next generation.

that doesn't make a difference. It breaks the grease down, though,

news At a bar in England, there's a controversy that's
been sparked by banning solo drinkers after nine pm. Carl Peters,
(18:41):
the owner of a place called Alibi, says the policy
over in England is meant to mitigate risk and maintain
a safe environment. He explained the policy saying a majority
of solo customers have nobody to talk to, so they
start bothering other groups. This move has divided opinions on online,
with some criticizing it as unfair to solo visitors, while
(19:04):
others underestimate the safety rationale. Peter's posted about the backlash
on Instagram, admitting that he faced a fury from the public,
but he insists the guidelines are a standard procedure aimed
at keeping everyone safe. End quote.

Speaker 9 (24:01):
I grew up in the Midwest and she's from Iowa's Oh,
we had a story just like this last year from Iowa.
Beautiful neighbors are more like family in places like this,
this one again in rural North Dakota. An incredible act
of kindness unfolded when a beloved farmer's sudden passing happened
a small town in North Dakota. Dozens of farmers from
all around decided, well, we're going to go and help
(24:22):
pull all those crops out. Randy, a well known farmer
in the area, lost his life back in September, wanting
to ease the burden on the family, friends and neighbors
and everyone around, decided we're coming out to help. Earlier
this month, roughly seventy five volunteers, twelve combines, and helped
from more than ten communities worked to get the harvest
out of the field before the snow showed up.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
And that shows up in North Dakota early Yeah. Randy's
widow shared a deeply emotional message thanking everyone who showed up.
She described the scene as nothing short of breathtaking, saying
the sight of so many people harvesting her husband's final
crop is heartbreak, heart breaking and beautiful. So says through
the grief, she and her sons felt overwhelmingly blessed by
(25:06):
the love and the support of all the people surrounding them.
I've got a let kid his talk right now. I
don't know why. I've got a link to that story.
