Speaker 1 (00:01):
It's time for Join the Ranks, a prospect focused podcast
of the Dynasty Grew Network, helping Dynasty managers win your
league's one player at the time. So settle in for
an hour of conversation and insightful analysis with your hosts,
Dynasty Grew senior writers Drew Klein and Chris Knock.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
And welcome back to Join the Ranks. I'm Drew Klein
here with Chris Knock, and we are ready to talk
about some more risers and followers, or that part of
our cycle is our loyal listeners. Know, we're rotating back
and forth between talking about our top two hundred, who's
moving up, who's moving down, who's graduating out, who's knocking
at the door, And on the other weeks we're talking

(00:40):
about the JTR thirty, which as Chris and I we're
talking and we're starting to see a little bit of overlap,
which is fine. Our goal today is to kind of
talk about where we are in mid season of where
some of the prospects you know are on our list.
I think we're going to get into a little bit
of detail in our top twenty, you know, and then
in the next group, you know, who else in the
top one hundred. Who in the next group of one hundred,

(01:02):
you know, people that you need to know about, Chris
before we jump into things. How are things. Ha's your
summer been so far?

Speaker 3 (01:09):
Oh my gosh, summer is summer y and it's lovely
and I don't want it to end. I know we're
far away from that, luckily.

Speaker 2 (01:19):
Still, but the endless summer.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
It's been a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:22):
Oh good, good, glad to hear. Things are going well.
Things are going to loving the weather, getting ready to
take little vacation in a few weeks, and you know,
I just love love the summer for a lot of reasons,
not just the baseball, but the baseball is a big
part of it for me as well. But yeah, things
are going things are going well. I'm excited about the
the talk this morning. He came, Yeah, and excited about

(01:44):
the project we've talked about a little bit, the ongoing
project we've got going on, the Dynasty Guru, where we've
been going at team by team, coming up with our
top twenty prospects per team and posting those on the
website and those even the discorder. Seeing the lists a
little bit sooner. Just as we're posting those lists as
we create them, and then the website articles have a
few sentences about each prospect and outlook for each, so

(02:06):
keep looking for that. It's been a fun way to
keep us involved and kind of help us inform our
lists and hopefully you as well. The other thing we're
talking about is glad you're listening for a lot of reasons,
and one is as we're approaching the trade deadline for
the major leagues. Depending on your league setting, some of
you are approaching trade deadlines as well, or you know

(02:29):
some of a trade freeze and they open up after
the postseason finishes, E's, etc. And good time to look
at your teams and who are prospects who you may
be able to move and get somebody into put your
team over the top, or you know, if you're looking
at a rebuild or a bridge here with your team,
you know, who are the prospects who are doing well

(02:50):
lately that maybe somebody took their eye off of and
you can get right now you can send a piece
for to help them, you know, with their push this
year and restock your your coverboards right now. So this
is a sneaky you time to be aware what's going
on with prospects and who might be some grabs, who's
going to be the hot topics this offseason, who you

(03:12):
might be able to get now. So I'll but then
set the bar too high there, Chris, hope we can deliver.

Speaker 3 (03:18):
I know we can.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
I have I know we can't do. So first things first,
we had a few graduations off the prospect lists since
our last last time we did this, so that would
have been four weeks ago. The names I have, and
there are probably a few more, but I keep a
running list, and I don't think Matt Shaw had graduated

(03:39):
last time we talked. He's graduated now, as has Jonathan
class A, Nick Kurtz, Edgar Quero, Chase Dolander, Drake Baldwin,
Caleb Durban, Augustin Ramirez, and Will Warren. It admitted that
list just gonna either surprise you or interest you, or
you got to say it's about.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Oh well, I mean, first of all, I am one
of the hardest parts for me and managing prospects lists
is looking at graduations. Because I completely like Kurtz. He
he just must have graduated because whenever I looked and
compiled and did whatever magic I did, he was under

(04:24):
that threshold and then I forget about looking at that
threshold again when I come back to my list. So
it's a lot of good names though, I mean Shaw, Kurtz, Ramira,
Augustin Ramirez. I mean those are those are players who
should be rostered and a politely are in one hundred
percent of fantasy baseball leagues, not just dynasty leagues. So

(04:48):
we're talking about long likely, long term major league fantasy
impact for our rosters. So it's like I talked about
last time too, this is more than one sentence. I'm
sorry the coffee is kicked in this year's rookies crap. Yeah,
we've had you know, Christian Campbell got the mooded. I
hope I didn't jump off of your list too far

(05:11):
down there. But you know, there's there hasn't been one
hundred percent success stories, but there's It just seems like
a lot of these prospects are still succeeding as a whole.
Looking at them and uh, yeah, you got to love
with the future of baseball.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
Yeah, Kurts is about twenty at bats over the limit,
so he graduated in the last week or so the
last few days. I'm glad to see Jonathan class A
graduate because I am tired of struggling way to rank him.
He's probably moving up and down my list more than
more than anybody, like a little rubber ball bouncing up
and down. Drake Baldwin I want to talk about just

(05:49):
for a second only in that preseason and I wrote
this in the we did the round table lessons We've
learned so far this year, and when you and I
talked about Drake Baldwin right before the season started, I
think right before the injury call up he got, and
we were talking about him along the players who boy,
they're just blocked and might people to get him because

(06:11):
people are going to give up on him, But he
wasn't blocked. He got up there and he's made the
best of it and he's stuck. You know. I just
have a few other names that we talked about and
who are in that kind of a situation. I guess
in Mires is somebody through throughout in that same conversation.
So bats are going to play, you know, Hitters are
going to find their way into lineups, and Drake Baldwin
is a really good example of that. I don't think

(06:33):
three months ago we would have predicted he would have
graduated by now. Frankly, all right, all right, so we
put together are top twenty. And if you hear nerves
in my voice, it's because it's there because I always
gonna nervous throwing this out, so which is why I'm
always so gracious and let my good friend go first.

(06:55):
Just kind of cat But let's go through ten to time.
Let's talk about specifically our top twelve. Then we'll talk
about who else in the top one hundreds moving around,
who in the next group is kind of move around
we think might be ready to pop and kind of
move up, And then you know, if we have a
few sneaky deeps and don't keep an eye on the
clock as well. But Chris, why don't I put you
on the spot here and ask you who's who's your

(07:17):
top ten right now?

Speaker 3 (07:18):
Yeah? Certainly, And before I jump in, because I like
to talk, I do want to get some disclaimers. So
my process this for this mid season list is a
new process because I've never really done this. I've wanted to,
but never have. It's to utilize those top team top

(07:39):
twenties to stick with the rinks I use in those
although I've adjusted them since some of them that we've
submitted over the last few weeks.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
But.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Use those to guide and then create my overall list.
So because I am not done with my top twenty
team rankings, you know, I plugged in the players who
I think they should be there off of those unranked teams,
but it's probably not as solidified. So my top twenty

(08:13):
i'm comfortable with. I don't think that's going to change.
But I do want to publish our lists eventually, probably
not definitely, not with this episode, Drew, and this is
maybe news to you, but I would like to actually
share my top one hundred at minimum, maybe even two
hundred at some point this summer before we you know,

(08:36):
maybe jumping the gun with our team ranks, but because
it coincides with what we're talking about and I think
it fits well. So all that's to say, we're going
to talk about them. I am fairly certain that these
guys will be almost where they're at, but give me
a little bit of leniency, all you listeners, please, if

(08:57):
they change, I guess so anyway, without well, without further ado,
my top ten number one, as long as he still qualifies,
is still Roman Anthony two. Obviously, this is where it
gets a little spicy because a lot of you know,
everyone knows I'm a counter Griffin fans. Samuel Bassaio has

(09:18):
got a lot of heat. But don't forget about Sebastian Walcott.
He's my number two. He was I think my number four,
behind Rokie, Roman Anthony and Dominguez. And he has done
nothing but in my opinion, support the fact that he
is the number two prospect and will be my number
one come graduation of Roman Anthony. Following mister Walcott is

(09:47):
mister Griffin. I put him at number three. This is
getting into a little bit of my psyche, which please
prepare yourselves. Not so we talk about fantasy impact, you know,
three year window we talk about and I think Connor
Griffin will be impacting our fantasy rosters in the next

(10:08):
three years we think, We talk about, you know, upside,
We talk about risk, proximity, all those sort of factors.
Another thing that I really take into account when I
start really finalizing my list is I do a series
of what I rathers and would I rather roster Sebastian

(10:30):
Walcott or counter Griffin. That is something that would tear
me up inside if and I wouldn't trade one for
the other probably, but Connor Griffin. When I started going
through this list, would I trade kinnor what I trade
X person for Connor Griffin? Yes, I would, Yes, I would, Yes,
I would. And next thing, you know, he's up in
my top three. So that's how he gets there for

(10:51):
me number four, this is spicy as well, probably, but
Yosu de Paula is my number four fantasy prospect in
the mid season US. I think the steals he's bringing
to the game, he's showing that power.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I forget.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
I don't have him pulled up, but I think he's
at double digit home runs already this year, which is
probably close to his career high. It's he's putting this together,
and so de Paula for that overall fantasy impact, I
have him above my number five Samuel Bissio. He gets power,

(11:29):
of course, he's got a great what looks to be
a solid hit tool, and he's theoretically knocking on the
doors of the majors. But I you know, I like
to look at the orgs and I try and read
the tea leaves, and I hate what the Orioles have
done to Kobe Mayo. Concerned that there will be some

(11:52):
of that same playing time up and down, back and
forth with Basio unless he gets traded. Of course, you
talk about the trade that the real trade deadline is
also approaching. So Samuel Bosio's number five. Uh, And really
this was a tough one because I have him right
in front of Jack Caglion, and this gets now I

(12:13):
get into more spice. I guess this whole thing has
been theoretically somewhat spicy. So I have some three guys
here in the majors six, seven, eight, I have Kaglion,
Chase Burns, and then my number two pitching prospect, number
eight prospect overall is Jacob Mazzierowski. You can't ignore I'm

(12:41):
skipping kagalleioon right now in my details, but you can't
ignore what Burns and miss You have done with their
first debuts. Burns obviously is a very small sample, and
the first half of that very small sample is better
than the second half. But he's here. He's probably not

(13:01):
going to get moved down, but he's showing that ceiling,
and he's showing it in the majors. You can't ask
for a better example of what you can do than
what he did for those first two innings. That's Chase Burns, Misierowski.
It's again a small sample, but larger than Chase Burns is.
I think he's pitched in what two games, now three games,

(13:23):
and he's misio is done. I mean, that's the debates
that are going on about is he really this good?
I mean, that's what we all hope for. And he's
doing at the highest level, not walking guys in the
major leagues. He's pitching five ish innings, striking out more
than he's you know, more than a nine per k

(13:44):
or nine per I'm sorry, I can't speak, but you
know what I'm trying to say, I don't know. Let's
pull them let's let's pull up some stats here. Let's
not just riff Three games, sixteen innings, and he's got
nineteen K so that's more than a kper inning. Mizierowski
could I could almost. I almost put him above Burns.

(14:08):
I almost did, but I just think Burns is a
little bit more of a complete pitcher. But holy cow, Mizzierowski,
I think is more than deserving of being a top
ten prospect right now. For the few more innings that
he earned that he can qualify then at nine is
Leo Dallas Drees and then ten it's Hey susmade so

(14:36):
Roman Anthony Sebastian Walcott, Connor Griffin at three, Yosu de
Paula for Samuel Bissio five, Jack Caglione. Oh yeah, so
I have him above the pictures because I like bats better.
Even though he hasn't been super successful, his underlying numbers
look much better than his surface stats. I could see

(14:59):
them sending him down. But yeah, again, it's not because
he's struggling as much as he's just mostly in a
very summarily stated review, kag Leon has just been unlucky
for the most part, but he's looking great overall. Chase

(15:20):
Burns seven, Jacob Mizziorowski at eight, Leo Deveri's nine Haysus
my day ten.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
All right, well my top ten is there's some names,
of course, some overlap. The other thing is is I
was putting this together and kind of somewhat bit different
from you, is I don't know how sticky to be
with people who I had in their preseason, and I
have an injury situation where I kept somebody in the
top ten and reveal that in a second, and then

(15:51):
a couple others who just haven't moved out yet or
looking at their whole pedig I guess that's the other
thing I want to say is we've got a really
good sample of what they're doing this year, and I
think that's important. I think with prospects we do look
at kind of the recency bias a lot and al
so some people slip down or might get some post
high people as well. But on the other hand, it

(16:12):
also shows current development, and I think that's why we
get so much movement variance in some of the lists.
But there's well, I'll just go ahead and jump in,
and so my number one is also Roman Anthony, you know,
for all the same reasons that that you said, and
I think as since he graduates, of course we'll go
number two. My number two, who I've always been high on,

(16:33):
is lazarro Montes. Continues to just pound the ball. He's
up to nineteen home runs right now, K percentage of
twenty seven percent, so a little bit over that twenty
five but not bad. But he's walking to sixteen percent,
so you know, the OBP three eighty seven. You like that.
I just I just like what he's doing. And I

(16:55):
think as he moves up levels. He continues to mash
the ball, so he's went to be my number one
when when Anthony graduates.

Speaker 3 (17:03):
So I like, that's a that's a good one for you.

Speaker 2 (17:07):
Sorry, I I got hyped up in the past week
and a half and and he's going to graduate soon anyway,
I hope, uh Jacob is yourrouski. I put his high
as three. I love it. And maybe because I watched
the last two of his three starts. He's just fooling guys,
and he fooled him two times through the order, and

(17:27):
I think it's more of a pitch count. It's not
that they're getting him in the third time through. I'm
not I'm not intimating that. I don't know if and
when heaters will adjust, or if and when'll you'll have
a bad outing, but just the eyeball test and and
uh not a scout. But I stayed at Holiday and
Express last night, so I went ahead and just just
bumped them all the way up.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
I think that's I'm glad you did. It makes mine
look tame in comparison, So I and I agree that
it's he's deserving of that high. So yes, sorry again
for interrupting there.

Speaker 2 (18:01):
Oh, no, don't please, and then uh, I kept roky
yet four. I know I was a little worried about
the injuries. A lot of people weren't. I don't know
what what I saw or what I Maybe it's just
because he's a pitcher and and I tend to worry anyway.
But I still think healthy, you know, and and looking
at a two to three year outlook, you know, I

(18:23):
want him. I want him on a roster if I
can get him, So I'm not willing to move him
too much further down Number five with Samuel Bassio, uh
and number six Andrew Painter. I think he I think
people are kind of waiting. We don't know, you know,
is her prospect of Philadelphi's going to call him up
any day? But he is. I think he's still I

(18:45):
think I know he's still pitching, pitching well, and uh,
they're bringing him along slowly, but not so slowly that
I would, you know, move him down the list or
anything like that. You know, he's throwing his whips a
little high right now, and I think it's more more
the hits get the walk rate's still under ten percent,
So not moving him down the list. Then I've got

(19:07):
Jack Haigleone until he graduates. He's at seven. I's Sebastian
Walcott at eight. I don't discreet, and you said about him,
I think at top ten it'll probably be top five
after get a couple of graduations and from shuffling. I
had Connor Griffin at nine and Travis Sakora up to ten. Honest,
I like that. So to recap, it's Anthony Montes, Missierowski, Sasaki, Bessaio, Painter,

(19:33):
keg Leone, Walcott, Griffin, and Sacora.

Speaker 3 (19:36):
So I did not include Roki because he pitched thirty
four innings, and I for some reason I was thinking
thirty was our cutoff. I always that's another reason, so
terrible this as I forget it's it's fifty for pitching
in one hundred and thirty for a pats now that

(19:58):
I say it out loud, but for some reason I
was thinking thirty and one fifty.

Speaker 2 (20:02):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (20:02):
Oh well, see I told you listeners, take what I
say with a grain of salt.

Speaker 2 (20:08):
Might he be a top ten for you? Who?

Speaker 1 (20:12):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (20:13):
You know? So this pitching, this injury is I'd have
him in my top twenty, okay, And it's painful because
my top twenty. Yeah, I don't know who would. I mean,
I know numerically who would drop out. But like you know,
he's still going to be up there. I still really

(20:35):
like him, like you said, long term, but he's behind
for certain Burns and Mizziorowski, probably Painter, although who knows
who will be pitching first, because I think Rokie has
been testing his arm somewhat with bullpens and whatnot, but

(20:57):
I'm not fully certain. I did not actually look before this,
so I apologize.

Speaker 2 (21:02):
All right, you wanted to do your eleven to twenty
and before you start listeners, if you want to go
back and listen to us talk about the impact of
pitching injuries, you can go back and listen to just
about any episode.

Speaker 3 (21:15):
I like that. Yeah, so take us to the next ten. Yeah,
all right, love it. Oh. Actually, speaking of pictures, it's
a good point. Usually I don't have a picture in
my top ten prospects, and I think the mid season
update allows me with them, with the Burns and mis
Zierowski succeeding so far in the major leagues, it gives

(21:40):
me that opportunity to show to move them up there
as like a hat tip more than anything, I think,
But like usually I'll have them in the back half
of my top twenty as I'll get to here, but
I just wanted to call that out. So where were
at number eleven? Louis Panya? So I have Mizzio at

(22:01):
eight as my top brewers prospect, and then made at
ten Penya at eleven. For all those names that everyone's
curious about. Walker Jenkins, I'm still holding at number twelve
despite his the fact that he plays for there it's
on the IL for the Minnesota Twins Development Org. Often.

(22:25):
I'm still keeping him high enough because his tools, his
skills are amazing. He looks like superhuman and that eye
test and so if he can stay healthy, hopefully he can,
the power will eventually come. And so I'm not dropping
him far yet. But he's at twelve for me. Right

(22:47):
behind him is almost the exact opposite, and Kevin McGonagall
at number thirteen. He's that's a Drew fave for certain.
He's looking like he's going to be an impact shortstop
or second baseman for your Detroit Tigers in short order.

(23:08):
Still in high A. But he's only twenty and he's
just walking his mind more than he's striking out. He's
hitting home runs, he's getting extra base hits. It's he's
going to be a good baseball player, good fantasy value there.
So thirteen Kevin McGonagall followed I didn't realize this until now,
but followed by his teammate Max Clark at fourteen. He

(23:32):
again is looking like that classic table setter. I hope
another we really like Walker Jenkins, hoping that that power
comes through, because then you're looking at a real fantasy beast.
But Max Clark at fourteen, then I have him followed
by two pitchers, likely of minimal surprise. Andrew Painter. This

(23:53):
is I probably have Rochie above Painter here. Yeah, I
think now that I say that aloud. Andrew Painter at fifteen,
Bubba Chandler at sixteen, and what to do about Bubba?
I think that's a valid question. It's really I've seen
some chatter on his recent struggles at Triple A, and

(24:19):
I think it I'm trying to formulate my thoughts here
on the fly. I agree with what I've seen on
this chatter, and that I think the pirates not calling
him up. These are kids we're talking about, you know,
almost teenagers, that's how young they are. He's twenty two
years old, you know, barely able to drink, and it's like,

(24:40):
you know, the younger sibling syndrome of what can I
do to make my parents notice me? And I think
he's pressing, theoretically pressing, trying to show that he belongs,
that he deserves it. You know, the names that they
called up above him do not have that same ceiling
as Bubba, and so I think he's been pressing. If

(25:01):
you look at his overall numbers for Triple A this year,
they're still outstanding. He's striking out almost thirty one, just
over thirty percent of the batters. His K minus walk
is still right around twenty. He's walking more people, but
like he's not, you know, he's only his independent pitchings.
They're still right around three and a half runs. He's

(25:25):
doing overall what you want him to do. Just give
him a chance, Pittsburgh. Don't be the Baltimore Orioles letting
everyone wallow and Triple A and not giving them the
chance to shine. Please for all of us, fantasy.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Chris, you just answered my question for you right there,
because you're talking about people talking about his struggles, and
I'm thinking, what struggles are we talking about because I'm
looking at the and I'm not looking at the game
log I don't know if he's had a few back
games lately, but overall, like you just went through, overall,
he's putting up some really nice numbers, particularly those strikeout numbers.
And yeah, the walks you there, the whips a little

(25:59):
bit higher than you like, but it's not world high.

Speaker 3 (26:03):
So yeah, well, so his last three outings, I can't
do quick math, but it's two and a half two
point two innings, four innings point two innings. And then
if I go back again to the first one engine,
so all four of his June starts have been you know,
four innings or less. He's allowed a totally in those

(26:25):
that's six let's say, let's say ten innings, he's allowed
six eight eleven earned runs. He's struck out five batters,
So he's not The month of June has not been
kind to Bubba Chandler. And so that's that's what I

(26:45):
was referencing. Sorry, thank you for calling me out on that.
So but if you look at how dominant he was
then to begin the year to still have a solid
season line, that just shows I think, yeah, how bad
his struggles have been plus how good he really should
be could be and who knows why they're letting him

(27:07):
wallow down there other than empty pockets quote unquote for
the bread right, for the ownership.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah and there, and there was a a good start
in those last four. I just pull out the game
log and the two starts ago was it was only
four innings, but there was only the wonder and run
and yeah, only three strike ups of the four. So okay,
so there's something on in June that I hadn't picked
up on. But still overall, yeah, as well. Here when

(27:39):
I get to him, I haven't ranked pretty similar to you,
but okay, carry on.

Speaker 3 (27:42):
All right? And then so that Bubba is at sixteen
for me. Behind him, I have the middle infielders from
last year's draft, JJ weatherholt Uh and Travis Bazana. Neither
are usually my top type, but they're doing well at
Double A. They're performing, the runways are cleared, so to speak,

(28:06):
for their arrival as necessary, I think they'll be solid
fantasy bats. So it's more of a floor and scenario
for the two of them, but I think they will
have fantasy value. But now that you mentioned where you
have my nineteen. I probably should have bumped him above them,

(28:26):
and that's Lazaro Montes and I have a give Drew
a hat tip. He's in my top twenty. You outlined
his potential better better than I could.

Speaker 2 (28:37):
Here.

Speaker 3 (28:39):
You should probably I would. You're making me feel like
I'm doing them a disservice by having three spots behind
where I probably could bump him up. But anyway, Lazaro Montes,
he's definitely a top twenty prospect faux show, and I
like how you have him at did you say two?
Was it two?

Speaker 2 (28:55):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (28:55):
Yeah, I love it? And then number twenty for me.
Then is brain Aiden Montgomery of the Chicago White Sox.
Since he got promoted to Hya, he hasn't been quite
as good as he was at Lowa. He was a
college bat last year. But he's still doing really well
that I was worried about. His k rate is swinging
a miss that has not been as big of an issue.

(29:18):
It's a twenty low twenties overall strikeout rate. He does
have a little bit of miss with his swinging strike
break ground fourteen ish percent, but he's got ten home
runs nine stolen bases so far combined between the home
two levels. His batting average is two seventy ish at HYA.

(29:44):
This guy is looking to be pretty dynamic, not a
lot blocking his way. Although I don't have the White
Sox's development plan with their prospects kind of understood quite yet,
so I'm not sure what his timeline to play is.

(30:04):
But he's definitely looking like he can be actually a
five category contributor, which is well, which makes us so
happy if that is the outcome. Braidon Montgomery, number twenty, not.

Speaker 2 (30:18):
Going to hear his name when I go through my
top twenty. Not that I'm way down on him, but
I just haven't haven't been high on him yet anyhow,
to talk to the players who are number eleven, I
have Jordan Lawler, who I go back and forth on
and and but he's putting up some really nice numbers

(30:39):
in triple A. He I think we talked about him
a few weeks ago, didn't really impress in his brief
call up, and I actually think that he may get traded.
And that's just based on me looking at their their
roster and seeing what they have and kind of where
they're where they're going, and it's a you know, they
have a lot of infielders, both at the A League

(31:00):
level and further down, and he's the kind of prospect
where I think they can get a good return on
and it depends if they decide their buyers or sellers.
And they've been you know, Arizona that this is has
been hit the injury bug a little bit. But but
Jordan Lawler's got the ten home runs, he's got the
three four five slash line. You know, he's talk about

(31:21):
some of what you're saying to Bubby's He's doing everything right.
And I don't know if he had if it was
a numbers game, you know, if he had impressed more
with it during his call up, whether they would have
kept him up or you know, with that short audition,
was was enough for them to send him back down
based on that alone. But so it might be a
little bit higher than most on him, but I think

(31:42):
the proximity and the performance he's doing at Triple A
is what has me have him that high number. Twelve
Chase Burns for you know, you've talked about him as well.
I'm really impressed with what he does. I had McGonagall
at thirteen playing at high an entire good system right now,
and they are very excited about what's going on at

(32:05):
that level and talk about, you know, do you move
McGonagall and Clark up the system, and he just let
him keep playing together and neither are going to get
called up this year or so. Right now, it doesn't
matter where they're playing. They're just hitting the ball hard.
And McGonagall with the six home runs, which doesn't sound
like a lot because I guess see a lot of
high but it's slugging overall is six sixty seven, so

(32:27):
he's you know, you know, nineteen doubles. On top of that,
he's not just you know, getting on base, he's getting
in base in scoring position pretty quickly. I had Bubba
Chandler at fourteen, Travis Bizana at fifteen. Like the profile
he hasn't some people who drafted underneath him have surpassed

(32:49):
him this year, but I still like what he is
and a double a debut is probably right for a
twenty two year old, but still it's it's a challenging level,
and you know, he's it's his first year as a professional,
so you don't think a you know, two two three

(33:09):
sixty two averaging OVP is anything to sneeze at either,
So more pedigree than everything else. You still have them
at fifteen, like like you said, like the profile, then
I have Jesus my day. I look at this and
I probably should be a little bit higher on him,
but he's a sixteen. JJ Weatherhold is at seventeen eighteen.

(33:30):
I've got Noah Schultz, which I know people talk about
a lot in the strikeouts haven't been there quite as
much as last year, and the walks are there. This
is more of a kind of sticky for me, Chris.
We're talking about like how how quickly do you move
people down as you move moving people up? And I
know it's a you know, a zero sum game, and
with somebody up, somebody's got to move down. Oh, you

(33:51):
got the graduates as well, But I just had trouble
moving no Schultz further down the list, and maybe I
should have. And then Colby Thomas at nineteen, who just
continues to mash the ball. He's got the seventeen home
runs at triple A for I'll still vocal on my
sheet for the Athletics almost hitting three hundred as well,

(34:12):
So he's not just a match. I know people early
on we're worried about the hit tool, but he's hitting
two ninety eight, and he's getting on base through sixty
three and then to triple sixt deals, so he's running
around the bases a little bit as well. So I
almost feel like nineteen is too low on my list
for Colby Thomas, but he's moved on. And then I
have Max Clark at twenty, and honestly, as much as

(34:35):
I like Max Clark as a baseball player, I do
worry about his fantasy relevance. And look at Owen Casey,
who I have a twenty one right now and kind
of almost flipped him. I think you're right, Max Clark
will be a good table setter, but when you think
of fantasy value, I don't know that it's there. But
he's in my top twenty. So it's not not a

(34:59):
dig by any means on Max Clark, but I do
I wonder if the power will come or if he's
gonna be really good OVP player. Like I said, great,
great guy of having on a major league team, but uh,
you know the fantasy status he's going to bring you
that is the TBD. Yeah, I like.

Speaker 3 (35:16):
So then Noah Schultz, it's interesting because yeah, he hasn't
been as successful this year. I've heard rumors and I
can't really confirm this, but I think he actually grew
more this off season. I've heard something where he's like
almost touching seven feet tall now and that growth spurt.

(35:40):
Because I mean he's only twenty. I guess he's twenty two,
so I don't I don't want yeah or yeah, yeah,
twenty one, almost twenty two, so I'd be surprised if
someone that age is still growing. But I mean these
are physical beasts. I mean he's got long regardless of
how tally is, he's got long. Lover though the White

(36:01):
Sox are moving him up the ladder that you know
promoted as you said to Triple A. They believe it's
all about honing the craft, repeating that delivery for someone
who's got that long of lovers. And yeah, I have
him at their mid thirties. So I'll just say that

(36:21):
behind Psychora, So he's probably my sixth arm Noah Schultzes
so because I have a note by Psichora at thirty
five of fifth arm, so so yeah, I'm not far
behind on him. And you know we talked about you

(36:41):
kind of get into these wide tiers when you start
ranking prospects, and you and I've talked about like what
I trade. Well, eventually you get to this place where
you're like, all right, well now you start thinking about
your generic roster dynamics, and well he has more value
in this type of league and or this sort of situation.
And so once you the further you move down a

(37:04):
ranking list, whether it's prospects or dynasty. In my opinion,
the wider the tears and the more flat, the less
of a difference between two ranks there really is.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Before we get into the next grouping. And you know,
we talked about talking about some movers in our top hundreds.
I do have my what are we doing with question?
You've already answered. One one was Walker. One was Walker Jenkins,
and I did not keep him my top twenty. And

(37:42):
I don't disagree with what you said. And again I
don't know. I guess I didn't feel as strong with
him originally that he was sticky enough to stay there
for me. The other is, and I think about ten
months ago, I asked you if this guy was going
to be your number one prospect or anybody Annual Rodriguez,
I didn't open his tab. I'm sorry, you know he's not. Yeah,

(38:09):
so you know, answer number one, we're not opening his tab.
He has not delivered on the promise. And I think
that it was a heavy power, and we're worried about
the hit tool and looks like, you know, for good reason.
You know, he's sitting two thirty seven right now, three
ninety eight and only four home runs, so not even
the the intermittent power he was not there either, you know,

(38:33):
one hundred and seventy six at bats. There's been you know,
an injury along the way. So I think he just
came back on June twenty second, is what I'm saying. So,
but he didn't start well, you know, before the injury.
The injury either, So how far down are you are?
You moving them as even relevant anymore? And that's kind
of harsh to say. You know, he's not relevant, but

(38:54):
he's not top twenty, and a year ago you've told
me he wasn't top twenty, I would have been pretty surprised.
Or what I thought maybe graduated, maybe the Russian had
graduated him. I thought the power alone would would keep
him higher.

Speaker 3 (39:07):
Yeah, I the what to do with Emmanual Rodriguez is
a very good question. You hit all the concerns, so
I won't need to regurgitate those. I had him pre
season at twelve, and I actually remember a year ago
we did talk about him and you were and we

(39:28):
were both remarking at how hot he had started, and
we're like, Emmanuel is going to be caught prospect end
a year, right, and we're like, oh, yeah, of course,
how awesome he is. And I think injuries happened. I
don't remember specifically which one at this point, but injuries happened,
and yeah, now I have him in my mid thirties,
thirty four behind the likes of Theo Gillan, Kai, Shaul Briceno,

(39:56):
Nomala Dalton Rushing, Christian Moore. That's actually the ones in
front of him. And I'm probably still aggressive with him,
and that's I mean, he has a fantasy friendly profile,
especially OBP leaks, right, so I don't want to forget
about that. I don't think any of his injuries are repeated.

(40:22):
He's getting repeated injuries, but I don't think it's the
same thing. I don't think I we're seeing any chronic problems,
and that's where I am hesitant to dock it so far.
But the meme is becoming. You know, art imitates life.
Memes here you know, exists for a reason. In this case,

(40:45):
in Twins prospects, it's a scary you know, it's a
scary role to play, to be a twin, to be
a Twins star, because of some sort because it seems
that they're getting hurt constantly, you know, pictures and batters
and prospects and major leaguers, and there's a problem. What
the sources, I don't know, but there is a problem

(41:06):
in that organization in my opinion, And so thirty is
a price I'd probably be willing to pay. I moved
him for Bryce Rayner, actually right before both players got hurt. Yeah,
but I moved him. I moved a Manual Rodriguez UH

(41:27):
and a couple other lesser prospects to move into the
Bryce Rayner realm. And then like a week later, they
both got hurt. Yeah, Rayner I have at twenty five.
He would have been higher without that arm injury. I'm
not too concerned with it, but just wanted to call
that out that I was moving off of a very close,

(41:48):
high upside type prospect for Rayner, moving off of Emmanuel
Rodriguez for someone who's farther out and some more questions.
So Emmanuel Rodriguez unfortunately is holding in the mid thirties
for me, but dropping probably if this pattern continues.

Speaker 2 (42:09):
All right, so let's let's look at kind our next groupings.
And I think we're both in the same boat of
we are now more kind of groupings are than the
Zach ranking. So I still get a lot of kind
of massaging of the lists to do. But you know,
I know I have that a few names and some
of them are names you know, and maybe just kind
of a reminder of, hey, this guy's out there and

(42:31):
take a quick look because he's doing well. And then
you know, a couple of names that I think a
listener may not know who are who are keeping up
my list I want to throw out. So I'll go
ahead and jump in and again under the familiar name,
but don't sleep on. Justin Crawford is putting up a
really nice year right now. He's in the triple A
and outfielder in the Philadelphia system. And Crawford doesn't bring

(42:55):
you power. He's only hit two home runs, but he's
stile in twenty six bases and his three thirty six,
four thirteen, four forty one slash line. Well, you know
that'll play. I've had the flipped on the minor league
game on MLB, the minor League game of the day
one day was the Philadelphia Farm Team and saw a

(43:15):
couple of swings in live action and it just looks good.
It's got that solid ballplayer look. And it strikes out
at nineteen percent rate, which is nice to see anything
any time. To see it's under twenty. You happy to
see that. You know, the walk rate's twelve percent. So
he's he's a solid player. I've got him in the

(43:37):
mid thirties on my list. I've gotten Kundt around a
Christian more in a found in celestin, you know kind
of range right now. But I think that I don't know. Yeah,
I had to to see around some managers. We have
him rostered might be saying the same thing, but he
might be the kind of player you can kind of
pick up. And it's probably an injury away from being
up there. Not that you're wishing injuries. I know Philadelphia

(43:59):
is not going to tinker too much, but if not
this year and one of these years sold off, he's
going to blow it up and just say, okay, we
got to kind of retool and he's poised there to
take over a position. So you know, I like what
Justin Crawford does, will be fairly high on him, but
if you haven't been noticing, he really is delivering this.

Speaker 3 (44:17):
Year, Yeah, I do agree with you on Justin Crawford.
He's really hitting the ball. Well. I see him as
kind of like a Max clark Ish light alternative whatever,
zero calorie. I don't know where the power is questionable,
but he's he's doing exactly as you're saying, and obviously,

(44:41):
well I shouldn't say obviously. I'm of an age where
I often think of just I think of Justin Crawford's dad,
Carl often whenever, and you know, the games are so similar,
and Carl Crawford was one of my favorite guys to
play in my first rounds of baseball video games that
I I used to create my own teams and do

(45:02):
my own fantasy drafts with and everything because he was
so much fun to play with. So anyway, uh, yeah,
I do enjoy Crawford, but I am with some concern
on the the power department from him. It's interesting that
you mentioned him right around Felman, because I have them
within five of each other as well in the mid fifties.

(45:27):
One of my big risers that I didn't have ranked
preseason and now is in my tailor of the top
thirties would be Caleb Boonemer of the Chicago White Sox,
another draftee this past year. Who I you know, it's
that I'm sorry, I didn't understand your game sort of meme.

(45:50):
I'm on a meme kick apparently right now this morning.
But for all those millennials out there, but he's got
twenty stolen bases already this year, a lot more dynamic
five home runs fifteen I should say, sorry, twenty extra
base hits all together. That's that's pretty impressive. He's not

(46:10):
going to turn twenty until a little bit later this
actually after the season end of the summer, so I
mean he's nineteen and in low ay, I think it's
time to challenge him. White Sox move him up. He's
playing on the left both sides of the shortstop and
third base, so I don't know where he'll ultimately be.

(46:33):
Colson Montgomery's obviously ahead of him in the food chain,
so and he kind of plays the same two positions
as well, So we'll see how that shakes out if
their developments track. But I think Booneer I have above Montgomery,
I'd have the look. I don't have Montgomery highlighted, but

(46:56):
I think he's just he's looking to bone, is looking
to be a lot more dynamic and not just kind
of a slugger hit and power. But we're getting the
stolen bases with him, so he's he's skyrocketing up my ranks.
You might find a sleepy manager who still who rosters him.
He's rostered. I just looked in like about twenty percent
of league, sixteen percent of league, so there's probably some

(47:18):
opportunities to still get him, I think at the sleepy
the sleepy valuations.

Speaker 2 (47:26):
But kind of getting a shallow league is maybe worth again,
if you've got a couple of the slots you like
to turn and turn and burn with the prospects. Even
in the shallow leagues, twenty percent means roughly available. You know,
thirty percent of other fans of dynasty leagues, he's available.
His I was called up his page while you were talking.

(47:49):
His swinging strike rate is eight percent. Yeah, yeah, very low,
very low. So the bald to bat skill looks it
looks like it's really there.

Speaker 3 (47:58):
So I'd like to see him lenge a but against
better pitching. But that's that's where I don't know if
I fully believe in eight percent stright swinging's right out
of a high schooler.

Speaker 2 (48:08):
But yeah, that's that's got to be tough in an
organization like Okay, let let's see him challenge And there's
somebody in the room going, he's nineteen. Let's let's build
some confidence and challenge him too. But I agree, I'd
love to see what he does at at the next level.
So that's a really good one. I've got a name
that I really hadn't paid a lot of attention to

(48:30):
organized right, I'd paid not any attention to this this name,
And I always hate saying that because then somebody's going, oh,
just drive him. My top twenty all year as Mertlin Valdez,
who plays, yeah, playing in High A. He's already hit
nineteen home runs this year, his slash to three oh seven,

(48:53):
three eighty six, five ninety eight, So uh, a few
more walks to hit the four hundred on the o
BP because he walks it a ten percent rate. He
likes strikes only strikes out twenty four point two. So hi,
A a little higher than you like to see. But
you know, if twenty five is your your red flag level,
he's he's under that. And you know it's been twenty

(49:16):
one years old in high as at higher, you know,
ultra level. I don't. I don't really kind of say.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
I think that's about it.

Speaker 2 (49:23):
And that's probably about signed him out of the Dominican
Republican Yeah, okay, and not enough that I think it
needs a warning sign to go along with it, you know.
And like you're talking about, you know, the contact rates
are about average. You know, they're they're good. You know,
he's doing what you like to see. I again, until

(49:43):
it's kind of going through the process that this year
and you know, downloading a whole lot of data and
sorting and stuff. His name just kept popping up as
it put on the different sorts and thought, I haven't
really seen his name. I don't know. And again, if
you've got him up there higher than you already you
know out there, good on, good on you. But he's
somebody who I know I can't keep out of my
top one hundred right now, and frankly may end up

(50:05):
in the top fifty even, But does that any mean
new coming in Chris.

Speaker 3 (50:10):
Yeah, he is. I did not have him ranked well
right now. I like where you're talking about top one hundred.
He's going to be, however, and right around that mark
for me. But he's definitely a riser and I probably
not because I don't have Pittsburgh finalized yet. So that's

(50:31):
that's where my wishy washy with all my discussion is
on him right now. But I do like him, and
I like how you're aggressive with him, or comparatively aggressive
considering top fifty. I'm not trying to shame on that
party using what's the way I see. I'm all about
memes right now, unfortunately, not thinking of the conversational terms.

(50:55):
But I'm not damning you with faint praise. That's what
I was trying to say there.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
I appreciate it.

Speaker 3 (51:00):
Yeah, No, I like it. I like it. I unfortunately
wanted to talk about someone who was in my top
ten at number ten uh preseason, who's now falling close
to the tail end of my top fifty, and that's
Carson Williams of the Tampa Bay Rays. Yeah. Grown, I

(51:24):
think the concerns with Carson are well known. I want
to highlight though, So the beginning of the season through
the end of May May thirty first, thirty eight percent
k rate, one seventy three batting average, sixty two WRC plus.

(51:46):
Since the calendar flipped to June eight, thirty two percent
k rate. Okay, some some improvement, a three oh seven
batting average and a one sixty three WRC plus, So
he's not walking quite as much this month, but it
indicators are pointing that he's stabilizing a little bit. You know,

(52:11):
if there was ever a prospect with swinging mess issues
who I would hesitate to give up on, it'd be
someone in the Tampa Bay Rays organization, them and the Dodgers.
Those would be the ones I believe in the most.
To maximize the output of him as a fantasy prospect,
I've dropped him down to my tail into my top fifty.

(52:34):
I am not out on Carson Williams. I am not
trading him at a top fifty value right now. I'm
going to just hold and hold, And probably some of
that is some internal bias, but I just it's one
of those where I just want to believe, like I
said in the ORG, and his overall skill set that

(52:56):
he does provide that well, I want to see how
this starts playing out and he finally gets the call
to the majors. So don't give up the ship, even
if they're if people are thinking of him less and less,
because there's still enough signs of life here in my opinion.
So Carson Williams, he's dropping, but I am not trying

(53:18):
to move on from him yet.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
Yeah, he's the kind of guys talking about earlier like
what's a blipp and what's a trend? You know it
was high on him for a couple of years. Fair
to move him? How far down A? We're going to
move him based on you know, one poor half season,
but it's at triple A then, you know, which is
not as good as the majors, and and what are
you gonna expect. I'm kind of on the list of

(53:41):
the side here with pedro Leone and adel Amador. It's
not not a roll on the bus you want to
be sitting on.

Speaker 3 (53:48):
But like in my in my trade back and forth, right,
I have Caleb Bomnemer ranked ahead of Carson Williams roughly
ten spots. Let's say, okay, I would not trade Williams
for Bumber. You know, I would not trade Williams for

(54:09):
Farmelo or Deluder or Franklin areas all guys I have
ranked ahead of him because you know, like the talent's there,
if it starts to really click or if he gets
his shot, you know, opinions changing a blink of an
eye sometimes with prospects and in the fantasy realm, and

(54:32):
so yeah, he's down, but don't count him out.

Speaker 2 (54:35):
And then I mentioned Navator he's like six at pats
away from graduating off the list, and again would like
to have that dilemma taken away from me. Though still
since I have him rostered, places still face it every
day about how long duy I hold him. I wanted
to talk just a minute about somebody we talked I
talked about in the preseason, and that's Harry Ford. And

(54:58):
you know, I had great fun talking about Harry Ford's
swing rates, which were historically low, and you know, coming
about how he needs to swing more, and also in
that Lessons Learned Roundtable article, he was my other point
of I still think he does need to learn to
swing more, but his contact rates are becoming very high
in a swinging strike rate is very low, so we're

(55:21):
seeing the best of Harry Ford right now, and that
he's managing his to swing the ball, swing the bat
a little bit more, swinging more pitches and hit them.
So he's got a three eleven four twenty six averageing OBP.
The sligon's only four sixty nine. You know, there's eight
home runs in there. And he's traveling with the Mariners
right now but hasn't been officially called up, so I

(55:43):
don't know quite what that status is. But at least
he's getting a plane ride in the food so I
think they're waiting to see. If I forget who it was,
somebody who may or may not go on the IL
I was. I was down on Harry Ford during the
off seasons cause I felt like he wasn't putting it
up balls in play. But he is corrected it, let's
say at a higher level. He's performing pretty well at

(56:06):
Triple A right now. So not a new name, but
somebody personally I was down on. So if you were
kind of with me in that boat, keep an eye
on and the call ups about to happen, it looks like.

Speaker 3 (56:15):
Yep, yeah, I was in the same boat I was
with you.

Speaker 2 (56:19):
Let me ask you about another Marinard samat Taylor, who
has been called up I think, I think twice for
short periods of time the past couple of years. He's
a twenty six year old in Triple A, so not
the prototypical prospect age that we talk about, but in
triple again, I think I said this is with Seattle again.
He's got to twelve home runs, he's hitting three seventeen,

(56:40):
three eighty four, five point forty two slash line and
twenty stolen bases to go along with it. He didn't
get a lot of run when he get called up,
So I don't know if he's, you know, permanently the
next on the list. I don't know what you know,
which Chad's kind of looking for, what their their long
term playing is. And I don't know whether to how

(57:00):
much to hold him lower in the list because the
age and if he's got this far and he's still
at triple A, how much am I reading into that.
It's kind of the what we talk about, you know,
how is your organization treating him or is he showbody's
just a bit of a late bloomer, but he's going
to break out and provide a lot of value both
at the major league level and the fantasy level. So

(57:21):
Sama tailor anybody you've looked at and have any opinion about.

Speaker 3 (57:26):
I haven't dived in, but I've been doing a quick
recap to refresh myself to see if previous concerns. So
he's a name I've recognized for a while. I remember
with Kansas City. I think it was either his time
in Kansas City or Toronto when he was stealing bases
in the miners like constantly, was you know, kind of
like your Jonathan class as a lot of speed, where

(57:52):
is the power? And so that's what I wanted to
pull up to see if he was getting any of
that power now that he's getting some that cast levels,
and I'm just not seeing consistent exit velocities that would
make me think he's going to be more than a
you know, fourth or fifth outfielder. Okay, So I think

(58:16):
I was hoping for him. I had a lot of
hopes back like maybe two or three years ago that
he'd break through, but he never got that opportunity and
kind of wallowed. And I think the reality is this
might be kind of what he is back and forth type.

Speaker 2 (58:32):
Okay. You know his swing strike weight is eight point
seven percent his own contact in the triple A has
been eighty eight point five percent and was over ninety
percent for his time in the majors this year. So
the back to ball is there, but as you see,
the underlying stats is showing his power may not be

(58:52):
real and sustainable.

Speaker 3 (58:55):
Yeah, I mean triple A this year is Max said
velocity is one o nine, almost one ten. His average
is eighty just under eighty seven eighty seven miles an hour.
A part of me, those are all right numbers. But
going into Seattle, uh, you know that's a cavern of

(59:17):
a warehouse of an outfield.

Speaker 2 (59:19):
Uh, so.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
It's not I'm not gonna be rushing to pick him up.
Let's say that next time he gets to the call, gotcha?

Speaker 2 (59:30):
Yeah? Maybe a team dependent Yeah, if you got spots, Yeah, yeah, yeah,
I think I like the fourth fourth outfielder analysis you, Gabe,
you everybody else in this grouping?

Speaker 3 (59:44):
What what range is that? Sorry?

Speaker 2 (59:46):
Kind of the rest of your top one hundred, who's
who's living around a few minutes for a couple of
deep names.

Speaker 3 (59:51):
Yeah, top one hundred, I mean Cam Schlider in the
New York Yankees. Uh, he's tail end of the top
one hundred. But he's probably next one upper darn close
for the Yanks. Again. I know we've brought this up
a few times. The Yankees have become quite a pitching
development org, it seems like, and Schlidter is the guy

(01:00:12):
who's recently getting a lot more hype. I mean, he
got called up to Triple A. He's got twenty one
innings up in Triple A A one six nine era.
Uh and then those twenty one Triple A indans. He's
got thirty three strikeouts and uh eight eight walks, So
those are good numbers. That's a K minus walk of

(01:00:34):
twenty of thirty zero point five percent, so those are good.
His ground ball rate is is around forty three, so
not quite where we want it. But uh so some questions,
but uh he's a big fastball, slider, curveball, cutter, per fangrass,

(01:00:56):
so he's you know, got a good pitch mix. Yankees
always looking for arms, They're always moving guys, it seems.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
Like, So.

Speaker 3 (01:01:05):
Look for Camp Schlidter to become more of a thing.
I think if he's not already in your league, he's
a good one to roster.

Speaker 2 (01:01:14):
Oh yeah, I had him rostered in my deeper leagues
and watched listed elsewhere, and I've talked about him a
couple of times on the GTR thirty episode, and he
got picked up in the shallowest league that I mean. Yeah, whoa,
I was kind of kind of a quick jole for me,
so I went and made room and picked him up
in a couple of the leagues as well. I'm really
high on him for all the reasons that you just said.

Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
On the opposite, one of my big fallers out of
the back one hundred is Kid and Dana from the Angels.
You know, I think he's one that got rushed too quickly.
Uh And some scouting eyeballs better than mine talk about
how is he's not able to tunnel his pitches, that

(01:01:59):
he's got different arm slots for his different pitch types,
and he's not striking out guys, he's walking too many guys.
He's still in Triple A and he's similarly twenty one,
so you know, there's a lot of baseball life left
in him. But he just keeps dropping down my list,
and I've got him outside of the top one hundred,

(01:02:21):
probably almost closer to the top two hundred one. We're
all said and done here, probably.

Speaker 2 (01:02:26):
And we've got a few minutes to talk about some
deeper names or in our teep that you want to
talk about that we haven't thrown out yet. Got a
few highlighted here I can kind of thrown out before
you go. Way in. Lynn has kind of hit my
radar well. I knew of him and had him down,
but he has had a really nice start to the year.

(01:02:47):
He's a pitcher in the Oakland organization, and I know
when we were doing the rankings for the team, my
team rankings, there's talk about him as well, but overall
his numbers at Hi A haven't been well. He just
got called up to HYA, so that's simple is too small.

(01:03:10):
But at a nineteen year old in single A, you know,
he's striking out twelve batters per nine and walking one
per nine and putting up a one point one zero
whip swinging straight rate at sixteen percent. As I said
last week, anything in the high teens is excellent. So
it's slightly above average in terms of what he's doing

(01:03:31):
at the high high A level as a nineteen year old.
So you know, signed over from Taiwan out of high school,
which is starting to become a bit of a thing.
You know, they're not waiting to see how they do
in the Taiwanese League, and then a lot a lot
of players they are graduating and go playing Korea before
they look to come over to state side. So you know,

(01:03:52):
we don't have a lot of high school stats and
what players are doing in Taiwan. So you know, he
wasn't somebody who before this year people really knew what
to expect. But he's he's really made a splash at
that level and kind of at a loss exactly where
to where to rank him, But he's definitely somebody I
want to keep an eye on, and there's already a

(01:04:12):
lot of chatter about and people are he was catching
eyes with what he's doing at that level. It'd be
very interesting to see how he moves up the level
and he moves up both rankings in the fantasy world
and in the major league world.

Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Yeah, he's becoming a thing. And the A's are doing
a good job with arms too. I think they took
a few years off, it seemed like, but recently they've
got more and more lower level type guys that are
seeming to perform admirably or perform as we'd like them
to yeah, my deep. Speaking of international amateurs, I have

(01:04:49):
a j fifteen name because now that I think that
the DSL dust is starting to settle as we're getting
closing in on a month's full of games, Go torn
Az Atlanta Braves, who spoiler is also my replacement on
the JTR thirty, so I'll probably have more to say
next time about him. But he's got a good frame.

(01:05:10):
He's six foot listed at six foot two, one hundred
and eighty pounds in fangraphs. He's got power, well the
frame to bring the power. Right now, he only has
seven extra base hits and no home runs, but that's
fine because he's sixteen years old and for another few weeks,

(01:05:32):
but he's got fourteen stolen bases, hasn't been caught stealing
a three four five triple slash. He is walking at
eleven percent rates, striking out at seventeen percent rates. Again
DSL somewhat you know, debatable and how how well that
will translate, but those are both good DSL numbers that

(01:05:55):
I like to see. Diego Tornez, he's right up there
with the Chris rodriguezz in my opinion, the Joe soars
Joe Wars in San Francisco. I think he's sneaky in
that realm because he wasn't a name that everyone focused

(01:06:16):
on early. He's only like seven percent rostered or so,
so this could be. I don't want to say he's
going to be the MA day, but he's I think
I see him starting to settle in as that prospect,
that dsl J fifteen type where everyone's like, oh man,
I remember him, Why didn't I catch on to him earlier.

(01:06:37):
I'm not saying he's going to have quite the sky
high rises my day, but a lot of signs are
pointing to him having a good hype increase. I think
he's probably going to be a top one fifty for
me when I get everything all settled. He's definitely a
top two hundred for me right now, upwards of one fifty.

Speaker 2 (01:07:00):
All right, I'm just gonna have some fun with the
next two names. And one is Easton Sikorski, who you
probably haven't heard of. And I'm not trying to be
cute here, but drafted out of Western Michigan by the
Reds back in twenty two and he's a twenty five

(01:07:21):
year old playing at HIA, So why am I talking
about twenty five year old playing at Hiya A. Oh,
he's putting up some really decent ratio numbers. In terms
of his K rated thirty five percent, his walk rate
is eight percent, his whip is zero point ninety eight,
and you look his game log, he's pitching two innings
at a time, so you know they're not stretching him

(01:07:42):
out to be a starter. I just wonder if this
is a profile of somebody who's going to get you
saves in twenty twenty seven, so kind of remember the name,
you know, throw him, throw him on a watch list.
I'm not advocating anybody pick him up unless you're in
the very very very deepest of league and want that.
But it's just again, you know, having fun with the

(01:08:05):
sword function and kind of seeing those numbers. I thought,
he's why I haven't heard of this guy. I thought, well,
we haven't heard of him because he's twenty five year old,
high eight and he's a reliever, so it may not
be as useful, but if he pops two years from now,
I'm just gonna archive this podcast. And then, and we

(01:08:26):
talked about maybe once a year is Gabriel Gonzales in
Minnesota who was highly thought of when he was signed
as an international, and then he's kind of had an
up and down career through the minors and right now
he's on and up again. You know, he's he's got

(01:08:48):
five home runs. I think we always thought we'd see
more power out of him. But in the one hundred
and thirty five played appearances in Double A this year,
he's got three fifty nine four three four ninety six.
He was in High A for one hundred and fifty
six games he played appearances rather, so he split this
year between Hya and being promoted to Double A, you know,

(01:09:11):
and Hyai had you know, similar numbers and more power.
In fact, he hit all his home runs when he
was in High A. So I think that's always going
to be the disappointment. I think that we dreamed of
more power from him. I feel like we've been talking
about him forever, but he's only twenty one years old.
So twenty one year old in Double A, who's you know,
getting on base at a four hundred level in the
OBP and might at you double digital. You know, ten

(01:09:35):
home runs, ten steals, not going to be a top
ten or a top fifty player by any means, but
might be a useful player going forward, and I spring
him up only because it's kind of fun maybe now.
And then I just see his name and thought, we're
not in on him, we're not out on him. He's
probably probably needs to be Gabriel Cansales line in my

(01:09:57):
ranking somewhere of you know, you're either povera below okay,
Brial Gonzales And I don't know if that's going to
be at the top one fifty rank or what, but anyhow,
just more for my fund than anybody else. But if
he does pop, it'll be interesting. Like I say that,
the ball to bat skills are there. You hope the
rest of the game can come around. And hard to

(01:10:20):
give up on a twenty one year old. This is
the real point here.

Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
Yeah. Yeah, he's that hit tool, dream on dream on
power that we've talked about a couple of times here today.
Hopefully he doesn't get the twins itis.

Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
That's my no. I. As you were talking about that
earlier today, I thought, oh, it's still going to break
up his name. But if it's right there, it's just
for an organization with a lot of names, they just
don't pop as much as we think they're going to yep,
so Cris, been a lot of fun. As always, thank
you for your time this morning.

Speaker 3 (01:10:56):
Hopefully you have a good rest of your day Wellrew,
of course loved our time together here.

Hey, everybody, before you go, I got to tell you
about my buddy, Nathan, mister Dynasty one stop, the one
stop shopper for all your Dynasty leagues. Are you considering
a new fantasy baseball league but don't know where to start?
Nate's got your back, total draft degenerate that just wants
to do some bestball leagues? Do d one s Nita
shoulder to cry on. You'd have to ask, but he's
a nice dude. Maybe you could come to some sort

(01:11:54):
of arrangement. In any case, here's the deal, people, I'm
the commissioner of four leagues across multiple sports and it's
a crap ton of work. I don't do it anymore.
I get it, it's crazy, but Nate has this down
to a t. Every league I do with him is seamless.
From creating the perfect league settings to gathering fees, to
draft scheduling to recruiting managers and whatever else. Dude does

(01:12:17):
it all for a small fee that you can read
more about on his website Dynasty one stop dot com. Seriously,
he takes care of everything. Check out Dynasty one stop
