Speaker 2 (00:26):
Now, Hey, what's going on you guys. This is Joseph
Bonner and welcome back to The Joseph Bonner Show. Today
we're gonna be talking about four habits of healthy happy people.
All right, four habits of healthy happy people, and we're

(00:48):
talking about healthy I'm talking about mental and emotional health.
In this particular episode, we're gonna start with number one.
We're gonna get right into it, you guys. Now, I
like to do it here. Number one, practice gratitude. You know,
happy individuals are often those who take the time to
regularly reflect on what they're thankful for. Now. This can
be through journaling, verbal affirmations, are simply taking a moment

(01:11):
each day to acknowledge the positive things in their lives.
Practicing gratitudes helps shift the focus from what is lacking
to what is abundant. So as you start your day,
take a moment to reflect on all the things that
are going good in your life, all the things that
are going right. This doesn't mean that you don't have problems,
This doesn't mean that you don't have stresses. But what

(01:33):
this means is this means that you are choosing to
focus on the positive every time you start your day,
and even every time you injure day injured day. On
the same note, by practicing gratitude, you will find yourself
more positive and more happy as a result, because you, yourself
are taking responsibility on what you choose to focus on.

(01:54):
Gratitude practicing is an excellent way to live a happy life.
Even now, challenges continue to rise globally. Now Number two
social connections Now, Building and maintaining strong relationships is a
priority for highly happy people. They invest their time and

(02:16):
energy and nurturing friendships and family bonds, engaging in positive
social activities, and surrounding themselves with positive influences. Strong social
support is crucial for emotional wealthing. You know, we are
by nature as humans social creatures, and so what happens oftentimes,

(02:37):
especially when we are dealing with mental and emotional challenges,
we will sometimes isolate ourselves from individuals, isolate ourselves from
people because we've been hurt so many times, we've been
what's one word I can use to describe this. It
could be abused, It could be it could be that

(02:59):
we've been singled out, persecuted, even for various reasons, and
this could cause us to shut down emotionally and start
cutting off connections. But it's important that we still build
and maintain strong relationships. We should keep that a priority
in our life. Now. It's true that we may not
be able to trust everyone. It's true that we may

(03:21):
not be able to have the connections we used to
have with individuals, but it doesn't mean that we have
to therefore forfeit every connection. Know that there were people
in our lives who were very positive to us and
who never turned our backs and us who never stabbed
us in the back, right, you know who those individuals are.
And it could be those individuals that we seek to

(03:42):
connect with or reconnect with to build those strong relationships.
But as we're building these strong relationships, are keeping these
relationships strong? Rather, we're going to find that we're more
happier on a daily basis. Number three healthy lifestyle choices. Now,
happy people often make conscious choices about their physical health.

(04:03):
This includes exercise, a balanced diet, hydration, sufficient sleep. You know,
physical well being is significantly a contributing factor to mental
health and overall happiness. It's not about aesthetics, although sometimes
it is about aesthetics. We want to look in the
mirror and like the way that we look relatively for

(04:25):
our age, right and relatively for what we should be
able to accomplish in our particular health bracket, right, the
best that we can do, and this will contribute to
an overall positive mental and emotional well being for ourselves
as we do that. So, if we're making healthier choices,

(04:47):
including diet and exercise and sleep and beings of that nature,
we're going to find that we feel better about ourselves
because we are making those better choices. It doesn't mean
that we're going to look perfect. It doesn't mean that
we're going to have the perfect body we have maybe
when we were in our twenties, right, But it does
mean that we will feel the best that we can
because we look the best that we can. Because we're

(05:07):
doing the best that we can. And that is how
that works with healthy lifestyle choices. It's not about being
the greatest, but it's doing the best that we can.
And when we know that we're doing the best, and
we're looking the best, and we're feeling the best, then
there's a reason for joy and happiness because they's a
measure of success, right. No. Number four, pursuit of personal

(05:29):
goals and passions. Now, highly happy individuals are usually those
who set personal goals and pursue their passions. Now, whether
it's through hobbies, career aspirations, learning a new skill, learning
a new language, having a sense of purpose and making
progress towards goals can foster a greater sense of fulfillment
and happiness. So I definitely want you to find ways

(05:52):
in which you can set goals, pursue those goals, and
build on the joy that comes from pursuing a passion
that you are passionate about and that's making a positive
impact in the world. Now, these are four habits of
a happy, healthy people. So I want you to keep trying,

(06:16):
don't give up, and I want you to incorporate these
habits into your daily life because they will to enhance
your overall well being, and foster a more positive outlook
for yourself and for your future. Now, obviously there's more
things that happy people do. This isn't an exhaustive list.
This is just a starter kit, as it were. Are
there things that make you happy that we didn't cover

(06:38):
on today's show, Feel free to reach out. We love
to hear your thoughts and we love to hear about
what makes you personally happy. All right, before I let
you go, please stay tuned and listen to a word
