Speaker 2 (00:26):
Now, Hey, what's going on you guys? This is Joseph
Bonner and welcome to the show. Today, we're gonna be
talking about five essential tips for a healthy work life balance. Now,
we know that a balancing act is what we all
do as we go throughout our day with work and

(00:48):
with life and with our careers and our children. So
this show is gonna really just help you to set
a little bit of higherarity straight and make sure that
you are living the best life you can as you
try to balance life and work. Now, Number one, I
want you to set clear boundaries. Clearly define your working

(01:08):
hours and personal time. Communicate these boundaries to your colleagues
and supervisors. Avoid checking where emails are taking costs outside
of your designated working hours to prevent overlap and burn out.
It's very important. I think this is probably one of
the hardest ones for people to do, because sometimes you
have jobs are supervisors who do not have those boundaries

(01:34):
set in their own minds, and so they're constantly crossing yours.
So you have to be determined to set your boundaries
for everyone and make sure that you stay in line
with them. Now, a lot of people refuse or are
afraid to do this because they don't want to lose
their job, are there, you know? But here's the thing, right,

(01:56):
And I say this with a grain of salt because
depending on where you are dismay this may or may
not be true. But for the most cases, most of
our jobs are careers. We can find a job somewhere else,
maybe in the same state, maybe in a different state,
who knows, maybe in a different country. But there is
someone out there that's hiring for what we do. And

(02:17):
so the job that we're at right now is not
the last job in the world. Right. The four one
K plan that we have now is not the last
for one K plan that could ever be created by
a job, right. So I do want you to know
your worth, know your value and know that you do
not have to stay anywhere that you do not feel
that people are respecting your boundaries. And if you're afraid

(02:38):
to set boundaries in a working environment, it already means
that you're probably in a working environment that's not healthy
for you, and you should be looking for an accent
like seriously. But if you do feel comfortable enough to
set these clear boundaries, that means you're probably in a
working environment that's positive. That's probably just for you. And
so setting these boundaries for your colleagues and supervisors is

(02:59):
a great way to make sure that you yourself are
living your best life. If you are apprehensive about sevent
these boundaries in the work environment that you're currently in,
and maybe already time for you to find another job,
because if your employer does not make you feel healthy,
comfortable enough to set these healthy boundaries, you're in the
wrong profession, or you're in the wrong job market, or

(03:22):
you're with the wrong company one or the other. Right
you pick and choose because you know better than I do.
But set your boundaries and stick to them. The number
two prioritize task use tools like to do list are
time blocking techniques to prioritize your task. Focus on the
most important task first, and then delegate the less critical

(03:44):
ones to later or sometimes the next day. This approach
can actually help you manage your work little more effectively
and free up some time for personal activities. And Number
three huge take regular breaks. You should be incorporating short
breaks throughout your workday to recharge. Step away from your
desk stress, take a walk. Regular brace will enhance your
focused productivity, making it easier to transition to personal time

(04:07):
once the workday ends. Number four Engage in hobbies and interests.
Make time for activities you enjoy outside of work. Hobbies,
spending time with your loved ones, engaging in physical activity.
These are great ways to de stress and maintain balance.
Schedule these activities just as you would work, and to
ensure that they are prioritized as well. Last, but not least,

(04:29):
practice self care. Again, we want to prioritize self care
through healthy eating, regular exercise, sufficient slee boost your overall
physical and mental well being. These strategies will help you
create a more harmonious balance between your professional responsibilities and
your personal life. So let's go back over the list
one more time. Set clear boundaries to find your working

(04:51):
hours with your colleagues, your supervisors. Delegate work to only
working hours. Everything else needs to be prioritized accordingly. Speaking
of prioritizing, number two, prioritize your task. Use whatever tools
that are necessary to make sure that you are taking
care of their critical task first, delegating the lesser critical
ones to either a later time or another day. Take

(05:14):
regular breaks. This will help you to distress, recharge, but
at the same time get more work done. Working eight
hours straight with no break is not a great working day.
I say you should see taking regular breaks because this
will help you to distress and then also actually get
more work accomplished. When you take breaks, you can do
more work throughout the day. Engage in hobbies and interest

(05:36):
that things that you love, things that you enjoy. That's
number four. Take time for these activities outside of work.
They need to be scheduled just like you would schedule
a work day. Schedule these activities that you enjoy doing,
and make sure that you prioritize them as well. Last,
but not least, remember to practice self care, healthy eating,
regular exercise, sufficient sleep. You deserve the best. Implement these

(05:57):
strategies and you will indeed see a more balanced harmony
between your personal and professional life and responsibilities. I'm sure
you guys are gonna do an amazing at this. Don't
give up, stay motivated. You guys, you got this.
