We're just so thrilled to have you on the show
today because we know that you and your old eight
week program are doing some amazing things helping people out
there see some pretty powerful results without having to hop
on the treadmill, without having to go on the diet pills.
So we need to get into your brain to find
out what exactly is Nicole teaching people out there in
(05:03):
the world, so.
Speaker 2 (05:04):
That we can jump on the back Wamon.

But first of all, Nicolo, I want you to tell
us a little bit about your background and health and wellness.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
I have been working in the weight loss and health
and fitness industry for about thirty four years. In that time,
I've accumulated numerous certifications. I'm a National Academy of Sports
Medicine certified personal trainer, behavior specialist. I'm a lifetime athletic
metabolic technician.
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Well, clearly, you have a lot of experience in the
health and wellness industry, and that obviously lets us know
that you know what you're talking about and you know
what you're doing. You discovered something though, that I think
a lot of people haven't figured out yet in regards
to how our brain impacts our weight loss journey and even.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
More, can you explain that a little bit?
Speaker 3 (05:56):
Sure? Historically, in health and well being and fitness, et cetera,
weight loss specifically, there's a lot of shall we say,
education about the limbic brain, both as a behavior specialist,
a personal trainer, numerous certifications as a personal trainer and
group fitness instructor. What happened was the Olympic brain was
(06:18):
always described to me as something that was sort of
out of control, like there's no way that you could
control this weird part of the brain that overreacted to
things and made us have unbalanced what they call neurochemistry. Now,
the limbic brain, just for your own information, is actually
(06:40):
the core, the control center for all metabolic functioning, all
biological functioning. Neuro Chemicals control your nervous system, your autoimmune system, everything.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
So what I found.
Speaker 5 (06:55):
Emotion, our behaviors, our motivations, our memory, and we all
are regulated through this particular system.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
Correct.
Speaker 3 (07:04):
Well, it's a different part of the brain that controls
biological functioning. The frontal cortex controls memory and cognitive function.
So this is something that was acting on its own, right,
we don't have an opportunity to say stop doing that.
You can't do that. The olympic brain is always going
to function based on one thing and one thing alone.
And anyone who's done a little bit of a human
(07:26):
anatomy study will know the olympic brain is responsible for
the fight or flight response. Okay, so anytime it senses
a threat, it's going to go into overdrive and start
to drop certain neurochemicals in favor of other neurochemicals coming
into play to protect us. It's human when we look
at it that way, and we look at how we
(07:48):
view getting weight loss or being healthy and fit. We
look at something that historically was taught to me as
like I said, something out of control that I should
never anticipate to control this. In fact, it should be subjugated,
subjugated through diet pills and other forms. We have to hack,
(08:10):
trick boost metabolisms. No, that's what was the problem, because
all of those things were actually triggering the limbic brain
to feel threatened even more. That's why so many people
were losing weight or getting off of medications briefly only
to get right back on them because the limbic brain
(08:32):
wasn't taken into consideration. That led me to believe that
there must be a way to work with the limbic brain,
not against it. So what I did was like that makes.
Speaker 5 (08:45):
Sense, you know, And another that you all you know
obviously you know we're emotional beings, you know we and
I think you mentioned you and I were talking about
this before the show started. You know, we sometimes do
things or field certain ways based on memories from the
past and based on past stimulations of various events, and
so I think it's so important then to be able
(09:08):
to learn a way to use and to use those
regulated emotions in a way that's constructive and it can
help us achieve our goals.
Speaker 2 (09:16):
If that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
Well, what was happening as a personal trainer? I was
pushing I became this very very cutting edge science based
salesperson for diet pills and devices and services and assessments.
We were really big on assessments and not really getting
a lot of long term results. I wanted to see
(09:40):
people come back and have learned something about their own
weight loss or their health that they could reproduce over
and over and over again. But the one thing that
all those certifications that I had taken had never addressed
were the emotional status. It was all about the subjugation,
all about the pills and the stuff that I could
sell people instead of looking looking at the root cause,
(10:01):
which is what you're talking about. So when we looked
at that and I acknowledged, Wow, this person is never
going to lose weight. If they stay stuck at that job,
or if they're in that dangerous situation all the time,
or if they're in a relationship that is not fulfilling,
they're just never going to lose weight. That meant that
we had to start or I started looking at how
(10:21):
people could become healthy, healed and at their healthiest weight
doing some things differently. And that different piece of it
was something I did learn throughout all of the certifications
that I had ever taken, was the top three emotions
that can predict disease and weight gain. And that's fear.
Speaker 5 (10:40):
That I have to pay attention to this next part
because this is so important for us as just as
overall people who are who are conscious in and want
to be conscious of our wellness and our well being,
to really understand various emotions that can predict weight gain
and disease. As she explains this, let's pay close attention
(11:02):
because this can really help us, you know, you know,
institute some preventative measures, you know, for ourselves and for
our families so that we can again achieve.
Speaker 2 (11:11):
Those results that we want to overall.
Speaker 5 (11:14):
So go ahead, tell us about those three emotions that
predict weight gain and disease.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
So the top three emotions that predict weight gain and
disease are fear, anger, and depression. Now that's not a
big news title or anything like that. People are aware
that the stresses of those emotions can impact your health.
But what they're not talking about is how to heal
those things or how to bring those things to fruition
(11:39):
in such a way that we have a better understanding
of how to heal be healthy and at our healthiest weight.
So what I had done was create two new therapies
a while ago, about ten years ago. One was called
super conscious conversations that would speak more closely to those
emotions and pull them up so people would be well
(12:00):
to not just regurgitate them over and over and over again,
but flesh them out with something else that was even
more powerful, which is the truth of that emotion. Now,
there are numerous things that may be disruptive in your life. Again,
the Olympic brain cannot discern whether it's happening right now,
or if it happened ten years ago, or if it's
(12:21):
happening on a video screen that's eight feet away from you.
It all reads as a threat.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
So, and I think there's some sort of a study
that was done a while ago that before the age
of eighteen in the United States, an average teenager eighteen
year old has already experienced about two hundred thousand hours
of violence. And that's a big number. That's something that
the limbic brain was never created to process. That was
(12:53):
a huge problem that was irritating the limbic brain, and
we stopped thinking about the limbic brain as something productive
towards protecting ourselves when it kept over we think, and
in the Western culture, that it's something our olympic brain
is overreacting to. No, it's reacting perfectly aligned with its purpose,
(13:17):
which is to help us survive whatever's happening. But what
I found was that when people started speaking their truth
about their existence. Should I know why I exist? Yes?
Why do you exist? Have you ever asked yourself that question?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
Why do you exist?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
It was one of the questions that began to automatically
begin balancing neurochemistry. The second question was what is my
sole purpose? And is it to raise children? Is it
to act on Broadway? Is it to sing? Is it
to create beautiful bowls for my family to enjoy? What
(14:03):
is my soul's purpose? Where am my happiest in my soul?
That's the second question that we started to see a
beautiful balance quot.
Speaker 5 (14:14):
One second, here's what I want people to really to
walk away from this, because you know, we are all
caught up in the hustle and bustle love of the world.
You know, we're all out there making things happen. Where
we're doing things, a lot of us don't always slow
down to ask those personal in depth questions.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
So I want you to explain a little bit about again.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Number one, how is the neurochemical balance altered by first.
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Asking the question? And then the second?
Speaker 5 (14:45):
How is the neurochemical balance altered by then searching for
that answer?
Speaker 2 (14:50):
Can you explain that.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
Any time you have a thought, it has the potential
of acting on the brain and increasing neurochemical.
Speaker 4 (15:00):
Or dropping it.
Speaker 3 (15:02):
Now, and this is just an example. Let's say you
believe since a child that you are very talented in art.
Let's just say that as an example. But you were
talked into being an administrative professional, administrative assistant because it
covered the rent, gave you insurance all the benefits you need.
And you do that for a time, and you're doing
(15:23):
that for ten years, then it goes into fifteen years.
But there's something missing. There's something that you don't feel
is working well in your life or feels a lack
of fulfillment there that's telling you something right there. So
when you're not fulfilled when you're not happy about what
you're doing day after day after day, even though you
(15:46):
may like the people that you work with, the thing
you're doing is not fulfilling you. That's going to drop
in dwarphins, that's going to drop serotonin, all these feel
good neurochemicals that bring a sense of joy into your life. Now,
when we do that and we subjugate what our purpose
is in life instead of let's say, even dabbling in
(16:09):
dance and weekends, when we're not doing something that we
feel fulfilled by, it automatically drops neurochemistry. Now, let's say
you ask that question, right, you ask what is my
existence here? Why do I exist? That starts to regenerate
something of the neurochemical balance simply by cognitively acknowledging you
(16:34):
exist outside of whatever you do. You exist outside of
whatever you do, and you have a purpose also very
exciting to neurochemical balance. Then you take action on how
to change what you're doing now to make it even
(16:55):
more exciting to the brain but also deeply fulfilling. Automatic
skyrocketing and endorphins and serotonin. When someone's doing something that
truly brings their let's just say their soul joy. That's
the thing that's going to rebalance neurochemistry. That's why you
see so many people who fall in love and they
(17:16):
lose a ton of weight because they're happy. They're happy
and they're in love. But if we take it a
step further into the action, the action stimulates something else
in the brain that is even more fulfilling. Now the
brain isn't concerned about surviving, surviving fears that they've had,
anger that they feel are depression about not being able
(17:38):
to change their circumstances. Now the brain is thrilled, excited, happy.
Everything's falling it back into balance. So people who are
in desperate need of weight loss, they have no cravings anymore.
They don't crave sugar, salts or carbohydrates, they don't go
binge eating on weekends. They're fine, they're happy. They're fulfilled
in a way that only they could have figured out
(18:02):
by asking those questions and by attempting to tell the
truth on their own behalf. No, I really don't like
being an administrative assistant. I never have. I just did
it for the money. Let me see if I can
do something on weekends that does fulfill me. Does that
make sense?
Speaker 5 (18:21):
Makes perfect sense, and I think my next question would
be this, then, how exactly does all of this work
towards helping someone to again lose the weight, maybe be
able to transition off of you know, medications. Here's why
I asked you. Here's why I asked the question. You
have an eight week program where you are helping your
clients do just that, lose weight, transition off of antidipressants.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
I mean, they're feeling more happier they're doing so the
question is is valid?
Speaker 5 (18:51):
How does all of this transition into to helping people
really achieve those kind of goals.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
When we, like you said, no one stopping to ask
these questions. They're on this random roller coaster ride of
ups and downs in their life. They're not stopping to
think about what would be fulfilling. But when we do that,
there's no need for us to eat our neurochemistry. That's
(19:18):
the only reason why you crave those things. You crave sugars,
and you crave I can tell you right now, when
you crave a sugar, you're actually looking for a lot
more recognition and relationships, or at work, you're looking for
an energy boost, something to make you feel good in
that moment salt your craving emotional connection. I'm not being
(19:39):
heard well and no one's understanding me. Well, I don't
feel like I have a solid conversation with anyone anymore.
And these days, and then carbohydrates is I really need
to protect myself, but I need the energy to get
through this next several moments. That sort of thing. That's
why in the course we go deeper, we delve more
deeply into the underlying emotions perhaps you felt as a
(20:01):
child that were never resolved. You know a child who's
been abandoned or neglected, they have a very definitive neurochemical
imbalance throughout their lives that tells them they're not worthy.
So they're going to eat that worthinessess until they feel worthy.
That sort of thing. That's just an example. That's just
one example. But essentially, when we do these things, we're
doing them over the course of eight weeks to give
(20:22):
the Olympic brain a chance to gradually transition into this
new thought, this new belief, this new behavior that had
to change because of now we're thinking about ourselves differently.
Instead of automatons going automatons going to work and coming
back every single day, and just functioning just to survive.
(20:43):
Now we're thinking more intelligently and clearly about our personal truth,
which is crucial in key to any health and well
being or weight loss scenario. When those neurochemicals come into balance,
we find people on synthroid. While I was hyper synthroid,
I had to get off. Your neurochemistry is now neurochemically
(21:04):
balanced and normal. You don't need synthroid anymore, you don't
need antidepressants anymore. You're happy because you're fulfilled. It's a
big loop that we don't look at in science and
western medicine today. We like to hyper analyze things and
then we have specialists that focus on that thing. Let's
change that thing, which is wrong because it offsets everything
(21:27):
else about neurochemistry and makes the limbic brain overreact again.
But it's not an overreaction. Just react again. Does that
make sense? Did I answer your question?
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Yeah? It makes It makes a lot of sense.
Speaker 5 (21:40):
And I think, what will even I think bring the
point home even more so, just how effective your strategy
is in your program? Is you had one of your
clients lose over sixty pounds by going through your program
and taking this approach that's amazing.
Speaker 3 (21:57):
Sixty pounds and she's doing it. So now we're lifting
up other layers of emotions that she's healing and speaking
the truth about and getting to the fulfilling piece of it,
and she's losing even more. But it's also happened for
other clients. I've gotten helped people get off of hypertension,
high blood pressure, hypolesterol, medications, antidepressants. I've had people say
(22:22):
I kissed my therapist goodbye. I don't need that, gotten
rid of isogenics, shakes, I don't need that. This program
had been mind blowing for so many people who thought
they knew the only way to lose weight or get healthy.
But it's not, and it's I don't believe that that
is how we were naturally born to function. You know,
(22:46):
we'd functions for so many centuries, thousands of years without medications,
you know, and it wasn't a bad thing. That's not
to say that medications can't be used in a critical sense.
I'm just saying, if you have a chronic issue that
has been perpetuating in your life, you still have hope
going through this program you can get off those medications
(23:10):
and lose weight.

I love that that is absolutely phenomenal, and I really
think that this is something that people need.
Speaker 2 (23:21):
You know, I get it.
Speaker 5 (23:22):
You know, I go to a gym as well, so
I try my best to stay fit and stay focused.
But I really love the fact that you are taking
the approach from a whole different avenue within regards to
just physical health and physical wellness, and so I think
it's phenomenal and I think more people need to investigate
(23:43):
this a lot further. I'm looking forward to not just
hearing more of your wonderful results and how you're impacting
the world, but also just more of individuals being inspired
by this particular journey that you're on to help others
in a profound way. So thank you so much for
sharing your story and your journey and your program with us.
