Speaker 1 (00:07):
You are listening to Julia's truck at Cafe Trucking News Out.
Three people were sentenced to federal prison for operating a
large metham FETEVI conversion and distribution organization involving semi trucks.
Three people identified as members of a drug trafficking organization
(00:29):
DTO were sentenced to federal prison after all three pled
guilty to conspiracy to distribute methaan fedem. According to a
release from the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District
of Georgia, Rosa wrangel fordy of Cannon, Georgia, was sentenced
to fifteen years in prison, followed by five years of

save that from at least October twenty twenty one until
(01:18):
August twenty twenty two, Wrangele headed a dt manufacturing methan
phetamine operation in Georgia. Members of the DTO transported liquid
math and fetibed from Mexico to Northern District of Georgia
in gas tanks of semi trucks. The DTO members and
pumped the liquid meth and fetimed out of the semi
(01:39):
trucks and cooked it into crystal math, using at least
two contestine laboratories to convert the math, says the US
Attorney's Office. Federal law enforcement agencies began investigating the DTO
when a female later identified as Wrangle, purchased large amounts
of acetone, a substance used to convert liquid methan fetamine
(02:01):
into crystal meth. Investigators located a DTO drug conversion facility
in Canning, Georgia, in August of twenty twenty two, after
observing a semitruck delivering liquid meth to the location. After search,
Wargs was executed. Police seized over two hundred and fifty
gallons of the liquid meth and nearly ten kilos of
(02:23):
crystal meth at the facility. In November of twenty twenty two,
a second meth conversion laboratory was discovered in Austell, Georgia,
after agents observed the DTO delivering liquid meth and fetamine
to the laboratory. Over one hundred and sixty gallons of
liquid meth and seventy five kilos of crystal meth were
(02:44):
seized at that location. Methin fetamine production and distribution continues
to pose a grave threat to public safety, especially when
traffick using the large scale and international operation utilized by
the defendants in this case, said US Attorney Ryan CA. Buchanan.
Thanks to the vigilance and investigative work of our law
(03:07):
enforcement partners, this operation has been dismantled and these drug
traffickers have been prosecuted for their crimes. Driven by greed,
these drug traffickers activities posed a significant threat to our
communities and to the lives of several children who lived
in close proximity to the highly volatile clandestine lab, said
(03:28):
Robert J. Murphy's Special Agent in charge of the DEA
Atlanta Division. The success of this investigation is proof that
those destroying our communities with meth and other dangerous drugs
will be held accountable to Other defendants are scheduled for
sentencing this case. Martha Karina Wrangel Pantoia of forty two.

the Tennessee Tenth Judicial District Drug Task Force. In this story,
(05:26):
Washington troopers met sixty four violations during a two day
chain check. The Washington State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Bureau
recently held a chain enforcement and inspection patrol. The chain
check took place over two days back in November on
stock Quality pass Over that two day period, officers inspected
(05:51):
one hundred and forty six commercial vehicles. On those inspected
commercial vehicles, sixty four chain violations were discovered in Washington State.
All vehicles and combinations of vehicles over ten thousand pounds
are required by law to carry sufficient tire chains to
meet the requirements from November first to April first of
(06:13):
each year, or at other times when chains are required
for such vehicles on the following routes. Now, there's a
list of routes in this article. I'm gonna go through
them real quickly for you. State Route five forty two

more chains, or that chains in use are broken or
otherwise made useless. Approved chains for vehicles over ten thousand
pounds gross vehicle weight shall have at least ten side chains.
Speaker 2 (08:01):
Excuse me not ten.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Two have at least two side chains attached sophistic cross
chains of hardened metal so that at least one crosschain
is in contact with the roads surface at all times.
The cross chains you have your two loops that go
around the edges of the tires, or the cross chains
go across the dreads. Plastic chains are not allowed. The
Washington State Patrol may approve other devices that change of
(08:26):
the devices are equivalent to regular chains. In performance cable
chains are allowable. The socks that they I call them socks,
the tire socks that they sell, those are allowable to
get you buy if the chain law is in effect.
I had to use them so when the chain law
(08:47):
is in effect. And in this story, a truck loses
(09:17):
the trailer off an overpass and crushes the front end
of a jeep that was underneath the overpass. One woman
was injured after a trailer fell off of an overpass
onto her car in Florida. This happened the mon the
week of Thanksgiving, right before the holiday. That's a heck
(09:40):
of a Thanksgiving present. The accident happened in Hillsborough County, Florida,
just after twelve pm. According to the local news, a
thirty one year old trucker was heading north on Interstate
seventy five ramp to Interstate four when the semi truck
crashed into the concrete barrier, causing the trailer to overturn
(10:00):
and fall off the overpass. The trailer then landed on
US Highway for ninety two, also known as Hillsboro Avenue,
and struck an oncoming jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a
sixty one year old woman. The woman sustained serious injuries
in the crash. No other injuries were reported at that time.
(10:52):
And in this story, Alabama pilot opens with nearly one
hundred truck parking places. A new pilot recently opened in Tuskegee, Alabama,
adding almost one hundred truck parkt places across the company's network.
(11:13):
The pilot is located off of Alabama eighty one, off
eighty five in Tuskegee. Ninety three parking spots, seven showers,
diesel fuel lanes, laundry facilities, you know the rest. But
I wanted to let you know that you got more parking.
Now we're trying to get more parking in Alabama. There
(11:35):
isn't a whole lot there. And in this story, a
(12:26):
trucker gets stuck in a scenic but narrow intersection. This
incident occurred in the morning of November twenty fifth, then
Mount Adams, Ohio, at the intersection of Hatch in Saint
Gregory Street. According to the local news, even passenger cars
(12:49):
can have a tough time turning in that area on occasion. Quote,
he was trying to make that really tight curve, that
tight turn. It took him about a half an hour
to I get through there. It does cause a backup,
but he's got to go around today's garbage day, So
who knows what the garbage trucks are going to do,
(13:09):
said one witness that lived in the area. If you're
watching the video, you could see how tight the turn is.
(13:32):
And he's the owner operator pulling a super ego trailer,
a reefer trailer at that. And in Iowa State Patrol
(14:14):
nabs a truck driver for not having the equipment on
his flatbed chain down at all. God love it. They're
reminding the truck of communityies secure their loads after encountering
an on a safe equipment hall. Again. The news that
(14:37):
I'm reporting on is happening around the week of Thanksgiving.
I know I'm a little bit behind, but hey, I'm back.
The Iowa State Patrol took to social media to call
out a cargo securebent violation that a trooper recently encountered.
It was one of these little John Deere I call
(14:58):
them a Bobcat with the little not really it's kind
of like a Bob Cappa. It's the John Deere version.
And he with the tracks that you just run around
in and he didn't have the loader or anything on
the front. He had that plane with the deal down
and then there's an add on to that that you
(15:20):
hooked to it that has a like a back hole
attachment with a seat or something on it. It looks
like and the article says cargo securement is important. Choosing
to not secure your cargo will lead to being placed
out of service and likely lead to citations. We promise
(15:41):
securing your cargo takes less time than a traffic stop
and inspection, say the troopers. Over one hundred and fifty
people sounded off of the comments section about the cargo
securement fail. Here's what they said. No officer, he doesn't
need change. He's gonna get the magnets on. He's got
the magnets on. They got those blue tooth tie downs,
(16:02):
laughed about off that stuff falling off a killing people
is worth about fifteen minutes to tie down. You don't
have a pocketbook big enough to cover that. Time is money,
and what you're seeing is a quick delivery method. In
all seriousness, stunts like this make it harder and more
expensive on the ones who follow.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
The laws and the rules. Touchet and up.
Speaker 1 (16:48):
Next, former manager is sentenced to prison for embezzling one
point five million dollars from a California trucking company. A
Fresno residence was sentenced to prison. For a multi year
(17:09):
scheme to defraud Hiss trucket company employer Gabriel Ruez. Di
Chavez was sentenced to two years and nine months of
prison for an avestment scheme. So you get two years
of free meals and a cot three squares in a
cop He was also ordered to pay over one point
five million dollars in restitution. Chavez previously pled guilty to
(17:34):
wire fraud. Between two thousand and four, sixteen years now
to twenty twenty, Chavez was employed as an operations manager
for a trucket company based in Fresno, starting at twenty twelve.
I'm sorry, let's back up. That's how long he was employed.
Speaker 2 (17:50):
My bad.
Speaker 1 (17:51):
Starting at twenty twelve to twenty nineteen, official say Di
Chavez generated more than six hundred fake invoices and corresponding
signed by his employer and that were deposited in his
own personal account. The embezzled funds were used for credit
card payments, cash withdrawals, mortgage payments, vacations, oh and car loans.
(18:13):
Imagine that. Officials say that the scheme netted Chavez one million,
five hundred and sixty one thousand dollars. The case was
investigated by the FBI and the Fresdo Police Department, and
he got busted. Missouri troopers say a semi truck left
(18:56):
the scene after fatally striking a pedestrian on in state
forty four. My first question is, just seeing this title
to this article is my wonderment is what the hell
was somebody walking on I forty four? For excuse me,
there is no shoulders on that interstate, So what the
(19:18):
hell are they doing walking on forty four unless the
car broke down? You know, I get it, but it
was broad daylight apparently. Let me let's see, how about
we talk about it. The Missouri State Patrols asking the
public help and locating a semi truck involved in a
fatal crash. This happened again. Yeah, one thirty in the
(19:43):
afternoon east bound I forty four near the two twenty
five miles dick around Sullivan, Missouri. Too perceive that a
pickup truck and suv were parked along the shoulder of
I forty four and a six year old man was
changing the time. A semi truck left the right side
of the interstate and struck the man changing the tire,
(20:05):
as well as the suv and the pickup truck according
to Missouri Highway Patrol. So the man wasn't walking, okay,
so let me stand corrected on that. Now when I
say it, let's stand corrected. As I'm recording the show,
I don't pre read the articles, so as you're listening
(20:28):
to me, I'm finding out the information on the articles.
So if I blunder or jump to an assumption, I
apologize and I take it back. So the gentleman was
broke down. He was a six year old man was
changing a tire on the side of the interstate. We
see that a lot on all the interstates across the country.
(20:53):
The man who was struck by the truck that was
changing the tire, he died, so he's fatality. The driver
of the semi truck left the scene. Again, somebody else
pull out a Superrego trailer and it looks like it's
the same color truck. It's a red looks like a
(21:16):
The photo on the in this article is very blurry,
but it looks either like a international or a freight liner.
The red slope knows how the headlights are and everything.
It's definitely not a Peter Belt or a Voval. To me,
(21:39):
it looks like a international or a freightliner. The trailer
is described as a maroon tractor trailer with egle marking
with blue and black outline. The vehicle is damaged to
(22:01):
the front passenger's side of the cab. If located, please
contact the Highway Patrol if you've seen that truck that
or if you saw that accident at six three six
three zero zero two eight zero zero. Again, you could
contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol at six three six
three hundred two eight zero zero. Now, this happened to
(22:25):
twenty fifth of November, about one thirty in the afternoon,
eastbound on I forty four near Sullivan around the two
twenty five milestick. Any information you would have would be
greatly appreciated. I'm sure to the families of the person
that passed away, that got hit and then the dude takes.
Speaker 2 (22:50):
Off up next.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
Troopers apprehend six hundred and eighteen truckers and also car
drivers during Perimen Basin Enforcement operation. I may have butchered
that name. Texas troopers pulled over hundreds of commercial vehicle
drivers and car motorists during a recent traffic crackdown designed
(23:46):
to curb crashes Texas DOT conducted an operation from November
sixth through to seventh, and then conducted a joint patrol
the Highway Patrol troopers on November twelfth to the and
the thirteenth. During that whole operation, a total of six
hundred and eighteen commercial and cars were apprehended. The citations
(24:13):
issued were three hundred and twenty eight. The warnings issued
were one thy, two hundred and twenty eight equipment violations,
eight hundred and fifty seven speeding, two hundred and nineteen registration,
one hundred and ninety six driver's license, sixty nine misdemeanor arrests,
(24:35):
seventeen felony arrests, nine commercial vehicles placed out of service,
eighty four drivers put out of service twenty two. A
semical similar cuity enforcement effort conducted in the same region
in October resulted in the apprehension of eight hundred and
(24:57):
fifty three commercial and non commercial motor vehicles. So you
being watched in Texas trust a sudden stop sends pipes
through the semi's cab into the motor In Louisiana. Now,
for those of you that are listening to the audio
(25:19):
and not watching the video, I'm gonna describe what's going on.
Do you have a flatbed without what's called a headache
rack on the front, which is like a stop metal
shield on the front of the flatbed for hauling pipe
and steel I beams and those kind of things. And
(25:43):
this person didn't have one. He had to stop suddenly,
and the pipe moved, and when it moved, it slid.
It came right through the sleeper, right through the cab
and all the way in, right alongside the drum's seat
(26:06):
and into the motor. Now, let's go to the article.
Losi Ona firefighters responded to an accident involving a semi
truck in Saint Tammany Parish. It was on I fifty
nine southbound about mile marker five, and the incident was
(26:26):
said was involving a significant oil leak. The truck driver
involved told firefighters said he had to stop abruptly to
avoid another vehicle as a result of the sudden breaking.
Three solid they're not solid, they're just pipes. There are
steel pipes, but they're not completely solid. Not according to
(26:48):
the pictures. Three solid pipes shifted going through the cabin
to the engine, barely missing the driver's legs, and it
like you could see if you're watching the YouTube Julia's
Truck a Cafe. Just search for it on YouTube. It'll
come up and it'll be Trucking News Hour. The pipe
goes right in between the two seats and right underneath
(27:11):
the console into the motor. Firefighters say that the truck
had been cleared and that the right lane of I
fifty nine was reopened about two o'clock that afternoon. So
I love it what flatbed drivers are saying, No, that
doesn't move. I don't need no headache rack. This is
(27:32):
a prime example people of yeah you do need a
headache crack. Oh that eye beams aren't gonna shift. They're
too damn heavy. Not if you have to stop really
hard and they're stacked on top of each other. They're
like butter in a frying pan. I've seen enough in
(27:52):
my thirty six years of driving, so this little incident
here with this float of pipe don't surprise me in
the least. Not in the least. Julia's Truck a Cafe
