the Word of God with Reverend Sylvester on kse AA.
Here is Reverend Sylvester.
Speaker 3 (00:27):
God bless you, God bless you once again.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
It is always a blessing to come before you and
just to talk to you about Jesus. I think that's
the greatest conversation anybody can have as a conversation about Jesus.
I don't think no other conversation is really that revelant
beside the conversation of Jesus. When you talk about Jesus,
it seemed that you get inspired. You're getting lifted in
(00:52):
your spirited, in your heart, that in your mind, and
you feel so inspired and you get a new outlook
on life, and you get an uplift in your mind,
and your body begins to feel better when you're talking
about Jesus. When you're sitting around complaining and moaning, you
ain't doing nothing but making yourself sad, sick and sorry.
(01:13):
But when you start a conversation about Jesus, one of
us savior, I ain't never seen nobody did. When they
started a conversation about Jesus. They didn't get up and
get the moving, They didn't get up and have to
move around. And something came in the room and went
all over them. I don't care what you call them,
what you labor them ass, but when they start talking about.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
Jesus, something holla lou Jah. You can't have no better
conversation than that.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
That's what I love about Jesus because he's so inspirational.
He inspires us, he lifts us, he keeps us going.
When you get into Jesus, you don't need no drugs.
All you need is Jesus. When you let your mind
go and focus on Jesus, everything in your life becomes
at peace. David found that out in some The seventh
(02:00):
is where we're gonna talk out of. When David was
gonna take Sal's place, there was another bench of Knight
called name Crush. Now don't get this name confused with
Nord's son. This is a whole different Crush than Crush
that was Nord's son.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
This Crush was more or less Salt's friend.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
He was an instigator, and uh he was one of them. Well, Saul.
If you can't take care of it, I'll take care
of it. I'll go do it. I'll get it for you.
And David knew that Crush was looking for a way
to get him. First, Crush tried to befriend him. You
see what I'm saying. And and and David came to
(02:43):
the Lord. And David said to God, and we in
uh Salce chapter seven, The Lord, my God, you are
my refuge. You're the refuge. God is your safe place.
God was David's safe place. And David knew that God
was the safe place to be. So Krush wanted to
make friends with him so that he could uh unjustly
(03:05):
accuse David or wrong doing connect it with taking Salt's place.
So here's the thing you ever had, uh, someone that
you've been knowing for years, but all of a sudden,
someone else takes up with them and they start coming
around you. You know something ain't right about that other person,
but you can't sing to put your finger on what
(03:28):
it is. But you know it's something ain't right. You
can just feel it in your spirit. You can just
feel it, but you can't say what it is. And
then the friend that you have don't even realize the
intent of that person's heart. See, and this Crush had
the intent in his heart of destroying David. He had
(03:51):
the intent of bringing David down. I want you to say,
the Lord is your refuge. The Lord is your refuge.
That's the topic of the message today. And he wanted
to bring him to a place that he would be
able to say something to Saw to cause because he
(04:13):
did not want David to take Sauce's place on the cross,
but on the on as the king. I'm sorry you
remember now that Samuel anointed Saul to be anointed David
to be king because the spirit of the Lord had
left Salt and Saw in a long conflict of Saul
and his descendants with David was David was uh the
(04:36):
one that God wanted to be king. But Saul didn't
want it, nor did any other other Benjaminites want David
to be king. They all wanted to come up against David.
And Crush went about talking to all the other Benjaminites
and the soldiers and trying to do wrong to to
cause David any kind of harm that he could.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
And he was backstabbing David in every way. P that
was done.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Now we understand that the devil is a liar, and
we understand that God allowed the devil to do this
to David.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
God is allowing the devil.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
To try you and put you through some changes and
some bucks and knocks. But I want you to know
God is still your refuge, and He's allowing you to
go through these things in order to train you and
teach you and give you the desernment because you know,
as I said before, God, we're like little babies when
we come to Jesus and he has the mold in shape.
(05:31):
Its just like you raise your child. So David went
on to guard and he said, deliver me. Let's they
tear me like a lion and written me in pieces
while there is none to deliver. It seemed that David
had a fear of crush for some reason. He had
it singed in this Psalms here that he had a
great fear of crush, And so it appeared to him
(05:56):
that maybe David was not afraid. Maybe he's like some
of us. Some of us are not afraid. We're afraid
of what we may do to someone. You see, so
we withdraw because that individual does not realize the danger
that we can impose upon him. So it's not about
(06:17):
us being afraid. It's about what we would do and
could do to a person. But we know that the
Bible says obey the laws of the land and that
these are things are not becoming of a Christian. So
you really don't want to go that route with that person.
Because I know on people to get in your face
(06:38):
and sometimes they deserved a slap in the mouth. They
deserved you to knock them out. But God in you
did not allow you to do that. God hope you
to restrain yourself. So David was in this situation whereas
he didn't want to kill this man. I believe because
if you notice when he slipped up on Sault that
(06:59):
time in the case he cut the bottom of Salt's robe,
he could have killed Saul, but he did not. You
see what I'm saying. So you have to know that
God is your refuge. God is your mental refuge. God
is your physical refuge. God is a help in the
(07:19):
present time of trouble. God is all that you need.
You see, if you let the spirit of God lead
you when these individuals were when the devil is using
them against you, because you got to recognize the Bible
say all the devil's devices. And you've got to know
that the devil jumps in and out of folk, jumps
from one place to another. And the devil will say
(07:41):
and do anything if he can find somebody that will allow.
Speaker 3 (07:45):
Him to enter them and do just that.
Speaker 1 (07:47):
So you've got to recognize, as Paul said, we rackles
not against flesh and blood, but we're rating against demons
and devil's principalities of all kinds of nature. So we
understand that the devil is the one that is acting up.
We understand that he is loose, and that he is
the one challenging you and I through the spirit. But
(08:09):
God is allowing it to go so far in order
for us, for God to increase our faith in Him,
so that we can grow and be stronger in God,
because we know if we resist him, he'll flee. And
I was listening to a program and a man was
on there, and he said that he was struggling with alcoholism.
(08:31):
He had quit and had been going to church, and
then all of a sudden he began to slip back.
Now I look at this like this. Sometime we and
I've said this before, we think that we're in a
safe we're so saved that we won't make a mistake.
(08:51):
You're never so saved that you will error. All you
can do is say, Lord, forgive me, and go on
your way and try not to make the mistake again.
Because God uses many methods to show us what is
in us, and so that we know how to seek
(09:11):
Him and we know what to ask Him for in
order for us to receive and work out our soul salvation.
Don't give up because you're error or you made a mistake.
Continue with Christ, Continue seeking Christ, continue crying out to Christ,
because eventually you will and He will help you to overcome.
Speaker 3 (09:35):
God is your refuge. God is your strength. You see.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
He will give you strength to overcome these different challenges,
and He will mature us where we don't fall back
in degregation where we don't What does it tell us
in Galatians chapter five, be not entangled with the yoke
of bondage again. Now we understand, we're fighting to continue
to be free. It's just like people cry about slavery
(10:02):
in the world and being mistreated. You're crying because you
want to be free, you want to feel free. But
first of all, the freedom has to come in your spirit.
The freedom has to come into your mind, and you
have to allow the freedom to settle in you. You see,
you have to understand that you are free. You are free. Indeed,
(10:24):
what the sun set free is free. Indeed, now we
understand here it is Galatians chapter five. Stand fast therefore
in the liberty by which Christ has made us free,
and do not be entangled again with the yoke of bundage.
Now understand Christ has made us free. But yet He
(10:45):
has released us.
Speaker 3 (10:46):
But you have to look at it.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
You've seen the movies where people escape from jail or
escape from someone that has kidnapped them, and they're running
through the forest and they're looking for all kind of
holes and snares, traps are lake to keep them from
getting away, and where the people are still chasing them
and trying to catch them and get them back.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
But they've been free.
Speaker 1 (11:09):
They just got to keep running until they get to
a safe haven. And all you got to do is
keep coming and Christ will bring you because He is
your refuge. You're looking for the safe haven. The safe
haven is in Christ, Jesus. He is your strength. For
the Lord is my life and my salvation. Who shall
(11:29):
up hear the Lord is the strength of my life,
Or whom shall I be afraid When my enemies and
my foes come upon me to overthrow me, they stumble
and they fall according to the word of God.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
I'm very sorry about that.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
And you have to know and see and understand that
great as He that is in you than he that
is in.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
The world, and go forward.
Speaker 1 (11:57):
Because things may not always be the way that you
want them to be. Things may not always work out
in time that you wanted to work out. But God
is still your refuge. God is still holding you, He's
still working with you, He's still working for you. You see,
God has not giving up on you. He has not
(12:17):
thrown you away. He has not set you aside. It's
up to you to continue working through the escape because
you're running to continue keeping your freedom that Christ has
given you. You're fighting to maintain the standard the integrity
that Christ has placed within you. So you've got to
(12:38):
continue to stand no matter what, no matter how it looks.
So David went to God about Crush because Crush had
brought such confusion and conflict, and David knew that Crush
was a snake weaving his way through in order to
catch him and be able to cause another problem for him,
(12:59):
because he wanted to find a weakness in him so
that Saul would be.
Speaker 3 (13:03):
Able to destroy him.
Speaker 1 (13:05):
But when David evidently, it seemed like in some seven
David had got time.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
Hallelujah, Chloe.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
And I know the emotional struggle, the physical struggle that
we all go through. Hallelujah, Thank you Jesus. Sometimes the
weight seemed so heavy, the burden seemed so long, the
suffering seemed to continue, and it looked like the suffering
is not gonna stop. But I heard in the word
(13:32):
of God that day that waited upon the Lord, he
Shering knew your strength. I heard him say, you will
mind up like an eaglewood wings. You'll run and not
get worried. Don't worry. Come to the place like I did.
I tell Jesus, I might be a mess, but God
your man, so accepted God. I may be slipping and sliding,
(13:54):
I may be falling backwards and forwards, but God, You're
my refuge.
Speaker 3 (13:59):
And I know that.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Even though it's stilled like a basketball being trembled back
and forth down the court, but I know one, thank God,
you will stabilize me in You and in your salvation.
You'll stabilize me in your word. You'll give me the
foundation that I need to stand, Because God, you are
(14:20):
my refuge as well as my anchor. You've seen ships
out in the sea and the wind is blowing. But
when they drop that anchor, that ship holds fast. When
they pull that ship in the dark and that anchor
falls down in the water, the wind may rock it
back and forth, But that ship is standing firm. And
(14:41):
that ship, that God is holding firm because you. He
is your refuge, he is your help, he is your strength.
He's all that you need.
Speaker 3 (14:52):
I'm more.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Besides, come on now, God is the best thing that
ever happened to you and me. When we were in
induced to Christ, we could not have been introduced to
anyone else better. Let me tell you. We got induced
to the Prince of the world. We got introduced to
the King of Kings and the Lord of Lord. We
(15:14):
got to introduce to the one that has all power
in heaven and earth in his hand. We got introduced
to the one that can do anything but fail.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
There is no failure in him.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
There's no such thing as God failing, of God making
a mistake that is impossible we got to introduce to
the one perfect person in all this world. So when
you got introduced to God, you came into the company
of the greatest King of all, the greatest Lord of all,
the master of everything. You came to the one that
(15:49):
can supply all of your needs emotional, physically, spiritually. He
can do anything in you that needs to be done.
For greater is he that is in you, then he
that is in the world, God is my refuge. Old Glory, hallylujah.
So David was worked up. He was really troubled by
(16:11):
this something because when you got somebody that you felt
and it seemed like at one time David had confidence
and Crush us.
Speaker 3 (16:19):
At one time, David may have thought that.
Speaker 1 (16:22):
Crush was concerned or cared about him. But when he
really saw the evilness and Crush, it disturbed him soul
that he had to get on his knees and he
had to call on the name of Cheese some because
he felt that Crush was coming to destroy him. Over
in verse three, he said, Old Lord, my God, if
(16:43):
I have done this and then there's iniquities in my hand,
if I have repaid evil to him who was at
peace with me, or if I had plundered my enemies
without a call some Now look here, you see David
was going through all kind of changes and channels behind.
But he forgot that God has Saul or knowing him
(17:04):
to be king, and the devil got mad when God
decided to put David as king and remove Saul. But
yet David was searching hisself and didn't even think about it. Well,
God has put me in this position and let me
lay back and delight myself in the Lord. Now look
at your situation. God has got you going through these
(17:27):
different things. So when you recognize that it's the hand
and the mind of God that's putting you through these
different things to grow us and mature us and develop us,
then you can delight yourself in the Lord and say, Okay, Lord,
I'm gonna walk on through this because I know you
with me.
Speaker 3 (17:45):
I'm not gonna worry knowing I go friend.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Because I know the Lord is my refuge and the
Lord is on my side.
Speaker 3 (17:53):
You see.
Speaker 1 (17:54):
So recognize that it's God that's working with you, and
that it's God that's working for you, and that is
God that's allowing these things to take place so that
you can get a closer understanding of him so that
you can get a closer walk with him. Oh, bless
your name, so you can get a deeper depth in
(18:14):
his spirit. Now, wonderful Savior, He's doing all of this
to teach us wisdom and knowledge and understanding it because
he said, we'll destroy it for lack of knowledge. And
God will go out of his way to give you
knowledge and wisdom and understanding.
Speaker 3 (18:31):
Bless the name of the Lord. You take. You got
to look at it like this.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
The woman when she has her first child, all of
that's new to her. She's never had a child before,
so she's in the school of learning how to raise
a child something she's never had before. And it's the
same thing with you and Jesus. You have never known
Jesus before, and all of this is a part of
(18:57):
getting to know Jesus.
Speaker 3 (19:00):
Loujah, Glovery be to God.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
And then when that baby speaks his first word, Oh,
that mother is so excited.
Speaker 3 (19:08):
She don't know what to do.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
And when you get to the place that you were
able to resist the devil and put him under your feet,
Jesus begin to rejoice. And Jesus steps back and say, that's.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
My son, or that's my daughter.
Speaker 1 (19:24):
So you've got to understand you a new learning Jesus,
just like a mother with her.
Speaker 3 (19:30):
First child that she ever had.
Speaker 1 (19:32):
And then she's got others coming in trying to assist
her and show her how to deal with the baby.
But one of them, see color of those he come, o, mother,
see it in your shot? One not for savior. God
sent me to let you know that he is your refusal,
and whatever it is, you can cast your cares on him.
(19:55):
You can tell Jesus anything. I've always liked the Book
of Songs for that reason because David spoke his mind
when he spoke to Jesus.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
When David went.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
To pray, he didn't try to curb his words or anything.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
He just said what he felt.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
And this is the place that we've got to come
through when we come to Christ. We try to identify
with big words and big language that you got to
understand you talking to Jesus, and Jesus expects you to
just be yourself with him. You can't put on no
errors to impress God. You'll levelujah glory to God. People
(20:32):
are trying to impress God. You can't impress God. He
knows everything about you. He see everything in you.
Speaker 3 (20:41):
The only thing moved God is faith.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
Just like the woman that touched him of his garment,
he felt the virtue go out of him. Now, the
only way you gonna impress God or move God is
by faith. Ebah blah blah blah. Shut down, he come
and your faith. Lets you know now what I'm saying.
That God is your refuge and that God has got
you holding you up. He's got you in his hand.
(21:04):
He's got you and he ain't gonna let you down.
He ain't gonna fail you, he ain't gonna let you go,
but he gonna stand beside you as long as you
will allow him to. So stop trying to be something
that you're not, but wait for the deliverance of the
Lord to come in and completely deliver you. I know
(21:25):
you say time, time is not on your side, but
your time means nothing with God and you in a
place where God can baptize you and feel you and
give you another dip and another touch. So many of
us has gone through so many trials and bumps and
knocks and lives. We've seen people leave this world and
(21:47):
sew ups and downs. But I come to tell you
that God is still your refuge. I only Loujah. You
say yeah, say yes Lord, say glow ay glory, how
led Louia, wonder for save him.
Speaker 3 (22:05):
He's still on your side. He's still with you.
Speaker 1 (22:09):
He was with David through the emotional struggle, because if
you look at a lot of it, it was his
mental emotional struggle that he was dealing with. It never
tells you anything else because all of this was happening
in David's mind. He was dealing with so many different
aspects of what God had chosen him to do until
(22:31):
the point that David didn't have time.
Speaker 3 (22:34):
To even think. They got angry the minute.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
That it took place, because Saul felt when the spirit
of the Lord left him, Sawmeo told him that the
spirit of the Lord had left.
Speaker 3 (22:45):
Him and that he would no longer be king any longer.
Speaker 1 (22:48):
And when that came to pass, it told Saul up
on the inside as well as the outside, to know
that he was going to lose everything that he had thought,
that he he had built and that he thought would
last forever, and it did not last forever. So stop
trying to destroy yourself and others materially and understand that
(23:12):
God is trying to work on you. Spiritually.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
This is a spiritual battle that you're in the day.
Speaker 1 (23:19):
You said you believe that Jesus died and rose on
the third day, and that he is a son of God.
That devil got mad and sent everything he had at you,
and he studies sending stuff that you recognize that God
is allowing it to happen, and that God is with
you through this storm, through this trial. He's right there.
(23:39):
But it's all for your good. It's all for your good.
Callylujah one that for save. It's all for your good.
It's gonna make you a stronger Christian, It's gonna make.
Speaker 3 (23:50):
You a better person. It is all for your good.
Speaker 1 (23:54):
Let Jesus fix it for you. He knows just what
to do whenever you pray and have his way, and
he'll fix it for you. I would that this cup
would pass for me, but not my will. Thy will
be done. You don't want, You want the will of
God to be done.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
That's the problem.
Speaker 1 (24:11):
Let the will of God be done, and you let
the will of God work these things out. David had
to allow the will of God to be done. He
went every which way he could to escape the battle.
He didn't want this battle. He didn't want this war
with Saul under no circumstances. David wanted everything to be peaceful.
(24:32):
He transferred from the king to and that Saul walked
away just like Donald Trump and buy that. But it
ain't no peace in that. But Saul was not gonna
lead peacefully. Before he would allow David to be king.
He wanted to kill him dead. He wanted him destroy
because he didn't want to lose what he had. But
(24:53):
Saul had got out of the will of the Lord.
You see, don't get out of the will of God.
In Colono sha nah, don't get out the will of God. Come,
stay in the will of God. Stay in the will
of God. It don't look right to you. You don't
understand that. You talking to other folk about it. They
trying to explain it, just like they did with Job.
They tried to explain everything Job was going through.
Speaker 3 (25:14):
They did know it was the will of God. It's
the will of God, he said, I.
Speaker 4 (25:20):
Would that you prospering, being good health, even as your
souls share prosper is your soul prosper is You still
talking the same language, and you still got the same emotions,
You still got the same anger, your soul ain't prospering.
When your soul, your spiritual soul, began to grow, and
the buds that are blossing in your soul began to
(25:40):
become flowers, then you know that you.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Have made a difference. You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (25:45):
I would that you prospering, bere in good health even
as your soul share prosper.
Speaker 3 (25:50):
Your soul must prosper. Your soul must grow.
Speaker 1 (25:54):
And the only way that's gonna happen is God putting
you through these changes and allowing the devil to buffet
you about it.
Speaker 3 (26:00):
Ain't nothing but Christ putting this on you.
Speaker 1 (26:03):
You eat kind, none, no sakeld Allelujah one enough for Savid.
You've got to let Jesus work through you work it out.
Let him work it out. Because when they got through
talking to Job, they didn't have the answer.
Speaker 3 (26:14):
God. It gave the devil permission to try him.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
And don't you think one time that we are not
going to be tried and God is not trying us
through certain things to perfect us.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
God, there's so much to be righteous that it is.
Speaker 1 (26:29):
So much that has to be taken out of us
and put in us. See, and that's why we say, Lord, let.
Speaker 3 (26:36):
Us decrease so that you may increase in us. And
it's a struggle.
Speaker 1 (26:41):
It is a struggle for the flush, cause the flush,
the Bible says, contrary to the spirit. The flush wrestles
against the spirit. I flush don't want to do anything
that the spirit wants us to do. I flush don't
want to live right. It don't want to walk right.
But we have to allow the spirit word of God
(27:01):
to take over in us. I love that song they
sung so much, and every time I heard it it
touched my heart.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
And I want you to hear it.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
I serving their all, and I servinger all.
Speaker 3 (27:24):
All to the mind bless sit save I serving or Father.
In the name of Jesus, we thank you today.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
We thank you for the ups and downs and the
spiritual trials that you're put in this truth in order
to mature us and to make us stronger and better Christians.
For we realize your words said not.
Speaker 3 (27:52):
By power nor by might, but by your spirit. Praise
the Lord.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
We know that if we allow you to continue to
mold us as you told Jeremiah when you send him
to the Potter's house, if you continue to shape and
mold us into what you want us to be. We
will come out okay, because Lord, we seek you, because
(28:18):
we don't want to go where the worms never die
and the streams never stop. That is a horrible thing
to even think of. Lord, of spirits and people streaming
day and night, where there's no peace in hell. We
want to go where there's peace. We want to enter
(28:39):
your kingdom. We want to walk with you, Lord, we
want to talk with you. We want to rejoice in
your kingdom. Now, Lord, we thank you because you are
a refuge. You have set us in safety against the
spirit of the devil that is puffed up against us.
(29:01):
You are bringing us into a better place in You.
You're taking us to a higher height and a deeper debt,
and we receive it. Lord, help us to continue to.
Speaker 3 (29:12):
Say in our heart, not die I will, but Your
will be done in us, for us and.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
Around us, not by power nor by mine, but by
your Spirit. Buy your spirit and the name of the Father,
the Son.
Speaker 3 (29:30):
And the Holy Spirit. Go with God, Ladies and gentlemen,
and God, We'll go with you. God bless you.
