Speaker 1 (00:00):
Stress kam the station that he's noticed her behind. You're
listening to just the Word of God with Reverend Sylvester
on KSEAA. Here is Reverend Sylvester.
Speaker 2 (00:20):
Father.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
In the name of Jesus, we thank you for another
day that you bless us. This is a blessed day
that you have made despite everything we've seen and heard.
Speaker 2 (00:30):
We thank you. Now.
Speaker 3 (00:31):
Lord, we know that as your word go out, that
it will now return under uvoid. But it shall accomplish
that for which is said in the name of the Father,
the Son, and the Holy Spirit and Jesus' name. Amen,
go with me, Go with me to Mark chapter four.
Mark chapter four. We're going to begin at verse forty one.
(00:56):
Actually we'll begin at verse thirty five. On the same day,
when evening had come, he said to them, let us
cross over to the other side. Now, when they had
left the multitude, they took him along in the boat
(01:17):
at as he was, and a little.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Boat were also with him.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
And a great wind storm arose, and the waves beat
into the boat so that it was already feeled. But
he was in the sturb asleep on a pillow, and
they are awaking him, saying to him, teacher, do you
care that we are perishing? Do you care that we
(01:51):
are perishing? Maybe the disciples had not read John three
point sixteen. The Bible said, for God so loved the
world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever
believe in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(02:13):
Sometimes we questioned one another's love. We questioned one another's
concern for us. We forget about the sacrifice and the
effort that that person has put forward for you through
your life. Children forget about their mothers and fathers and
what they've suffered and gone through.
Speaker 2 (02:34):
Some children have never heard the story or the pain
that their parents went through just to survive, just to
make ends meet for them. For his disciples are asking
him this question, it was very, very not understanding.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
Because the disciples knew that Jesus had been walking the earth,
he had been protecting them, He had demonstrated goes before
their eyes, and that he was doing everything necessary to.
Speaker 2 (03:07):
Keep them strong. Now that he had to have.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
Some sleep just showed that he came in human form.
It showed that he was a man just like me
and others. It showed that he.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Was one hundred percent humans.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
He was not a ghost or mysterious to anyone.
Speaker 2 (03:29):
He was flesh and blood.
Speaker 3 (03:33):
God sent his only son into the world to deliver
in humanity from all that the devil has to bring
good versus evil. We know that God is good in
every sense of the word. But we also know that
God created everything. We understand that the concern that we
(03:57):
may see and the concern that we feel, sometime it
seems like no one cares about you. God sent his
only sign into the world that the world may be
saved through him.
Speaker 2 (04:13):
It's one thing about it.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
When you stop trying to save yourself, God will save you.
When you stop trying to be holier than thou, God
will make you holy. When you stop trying to be like,
be better than someone else, God will make you one
with him. We spent a lot of times and the
disciples was dealing with their emotions and with their fear.
(04:38):
They were dealing with the idea that we could drown
here in the wind. This also makes you wonder if
the disciples could swim and such in a case like this,
because a lot of strong swimmers will tell you how
they know how to tread through the water, long term
swimmers and they will tell you maybe men will tell
(04:59):
you that they know how to tread through a storm
and through certain types of water when they're in that water,
whether they have on their diving suit or not, because
a lot of times when the divers come up the
water is the current of the water is still pull
in a different direction, and they have to know how
to keep theirselves afloat in order to get back to
(05:22):
the ship. So the question is could the disciples swim.
It didn't matter if they could swim or not. It
sounds like they were still on milk. It sounded like
the worst of the scripture, that they had not grown
to full maturity of.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
The word of God or the trust of God.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
It appears that they were not able to pray themselves
and come back to battle. It's the same thing when
Jesus had They came and told Jesus that your disciples
came and prayed for this man, but they could not
cast out this demon. They came and got Jesus, and
(06:04):
Jesus spoke and the demon left.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Now you have to understand one thing he has told
us that.
Speaker 3 (06:12):
His word, if you go back to Genesis, he spoke
everything into existence. God did not walk off his thronge
edd and he just spoke and it was made.
Speaker 2 (06:23):
He spoke the world into existence. He spoke everything. You see.
One thing you don't understand is that.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
You have power in the word of God. When you
take the word of God and apply the word of
God and use the Word as the authority of God,
then the word of God would demonstrate what the Word
of God has the power.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
And the ability to do.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
But if you're waiting on someone else to apply the
Word to your mountain. First of all, you got to
have faith, Jesus said in the other stripture to the
man on the petition of your faith be healed.
Speaker 2 (07:03):
You.
Speaker 3 (07:03):
See, it's one thing about your faith and the Word.
Your faith and the Word has to work together. See,
there's no two ways over at it. You've got to
have faith in order to accomplish what you want to do.
Let's go to verse thirty nine. And then he arose
and rebuked the winds and said to the sea, peace,
(07:24):
be still.
Speaker 2 (07:26):
Peace. Now, look, he said, he can rose and spoke
to it.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
He didn't get up, holland he didn't get up commanding.
He got up and spoke peace, peace, he said. And
when his words went out, it obeyed his word. It
obeyed his word. The see obeyed exactly what he said.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Peace.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
You must apply the word of God with faith. Jesus
had no doubt when he spoke that the sea was
not going to come to peace. He didn't say, I wonder, Okay, well,
I'm gonna try and do it this way.
Speaker 2 (08:12):
I'm gonna try this or that.
Speaker 3 (08:15):
No.
Speaker 2 (08:17):
When he told Moses to hit the rock and water would.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Come out, Moses hit the rock and water came out.
Speaker 2 (08:24):
Come on.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Now, Jesus has spoken to you through his word, through
the Bible, through.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
The scriptures of his word. This is the word.
Speaker 3 (08:35):
Of God that you must apply to your circumstances and
your situation. When Jesus hears his word out of your mouth,
he moves directly and performs his word.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
The Bible say he watches.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
Over his word to perform it. The word of God
is your strength. The word of God is your support.
The word of God is your defense. The word of
God is your joy. The word of God is your life.
Take the word of God and apply it to any
circumstances of situations. Just like he stood up and said peace,
(09:15):
he's saying the same thing in your situation.
Speaker 2 (09:18):
Peace, Peace, Peace, I speak unto you today.
Speaker 3 (09:25):
If there wasn't so much chaos in the world, peace
would be in peace.
Speaker 2 (09:30):
It's what we need.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Chaos is nothing but a distraction to keep you from
seeing the reality of the situation. Create chaos, and it
keeps you thrown off and confused to the point that
you can't stop and see what's just going on.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
There's so many.
Speaker 3 (09:49):
Things that they put in front of your face, like
they was talking, when certain things are happening, you can't
see what's going on. Every time an incident take place
in the street or in the neighborhood, everybody run outside
to see what's going on. But nobody's watching their front door.
(10:09):
While they out there looking to see what's going on,
somebody's slipped in their house and took something.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
You see, because the chaos got you.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Caught up in another direction. Somebody else's stress has become
your stress. And I told you before you can't let
somebody else's stress become your stress. Now, Jesus is the
only one that can handle your stress. Jesus handled the
disciples stress. You're not Jesus, No, I'm not. But Jesus
(10:40):
was sleep. The Bible said he was resting man Jesus
was like me. He went on to sleep and to
sleep through anything, because he had faith. He believed that
when he went to sleep, that his father was watching
over him, and that the host of heaven was standing
beside him. He had nothing to worry. The devil wasn't
(11:01):
gonna slip up on him. But his disciples was fidgety
and nervous and caring on. And when the water rose
and the storm came, they went to Holland and they
brought their stress to Jesus. Now, how many of y'all
are trying to bury your own cross instead of letting
Jesus bear the cross. You're trying to solve the problem
(11:23):
and you don't even know how to go about it.
You think you got an answer or solution to it,
and you have no concept as to what to do.
I want you to know that Jesus cares. I want
you to know you can wake him up and go
get Jesus. Well, he's not sleep, but you can go
to him like the disciples did. But you got to
(11:45):
come to Jesus with faith. You got to come believing
that when you present it to him that he's going
to answer prayer. Hallilujah, globe. I have no doubt that
He answers prayer. It's been proven to me time and
time again. I'm sitting here today in this cheer because
(12:06):
of prayer, Hallelujah, because of faith. You see, I want
you to know that your faith and your words must
work together. You must stand on your word of God.
You must find you some word in here that inspires
your spirit and causes you to grab a hope to
(12:28):
Jesus and don't let go, no matter what it looked like.
I don't care how you feel. I don't care what
was said. I don't care what they told you. I
don't care what they doing. You hold to your faith,
and you hold on to God's unchanging hand through the
midst of the storm, through the bumps and the knocks.
(12:50):
Be like his disciples. They knew couldn't nobody do but Jesus.
They knew, couldn't nobody stop the sea from taking their lives.
But Jesus, you know, can't nobody do you like Jesus,
you know, can't nobody fix this situation, but Jesus.
Speaker 2 (13:07):
They knew only Jesus could do it.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
If they didn't know, they do now because they had
to wake him up, and they believe that he was
going to save their lives. When they woke him up,
they believe that he was going to do it. Do
you believe that God's gonna do it? Do you believe
that God is still the answer? Do you believe that
(13:31):
he sits high and look low? Do you believe that
He's concerned about your situation and your circumstances? If you
have faith in God as big as a mustard, see,
speak to your mountain, and it's got to be moved
a lot of times, the mountain is within us.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
The problem is on us. You see what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Jesus said, let's go on here, Lord Father, Thank God,
wonderful saving. He said, peace be still, and the wind cease,
and that was a great come. But he said to them,
why are you so fearful? How is it that you
have no faith? And they feared exceeding and said to
(14:16):
one another, who can this be?
Speaker 2 (14:19):
That?
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Even the wind said, and the wind and the sea
obey him. Now wait a minute, wait a minute, I
gotta go back here, because they said, who can this be?
M Well, see they were still a little weak. They
didn't even realize who he was. They didn't know who
(14:41):
he was.
Speaker 2 (14:42):
They were within themselves questioning who could this be?
Speaker 3 (14:48):
As I said earlier, they had not read John through sixteen.
But God had sent his only begotten signed into the world.
They had not read well, God had sent his son
into the or.
Speaker 2 (15:00):
That the world through him might be saved. Now here's
the situation. Who could this be? Now?
Speaker 3 (15:07):
They've been with him all that time, and they still questioning.
You've been in saved, you've been going to church, and
you still questioning.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Can he do it? Now? I don't see how. Now
let's go to March chapter eleven and verses twenty through
twenty four.
Speaker 3 (15:27):
Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw
the fig tree dried up from the roof, and Peter
remembered and said to him, rather, I look the fig
tree which you curse, has withered away. So Jesus asked
and said to them have faith in God. For surely
(15:47):
I say to you, whoever say to this mountain be
removed and be cast into the sea, and does not
doubt doubt in his heart, but believe that these things
he saved will be done, He will have whatever he says. Therefore,
(16:08):
I say to you whatever thing you asks. When you pray, believe,
you receive them, and you will have them.
Speaker 2 (16:16):
Uh. Oh, Now, if you don't doubt God.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Some folks say, yeah, I believe, and they ask God,
and then they got some sarcastic to say you done already.
Speaker 2 (16:29):
Throws your faith off. That little silly sarcastic word. You lose.
This the it.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
It CAUs your blessing to be delayed. It caused your
deliverance to be delayed. See, because most of the time
we need deliverance from the inside out. This ain't buy
no money. This is about your spirit. This ain't about
your bank account. This is about your.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
Attitude and your disposition toward God.
Speaker 3 (16:53):
Holley Louiah Glovery be the God we always run into
the throne of grace. God, give me a million dollar,
give me a new lamp, give me a new car.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Listen, let me tell you something. He said.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
Seeky first the Kingdom of God and all of his righteousness,
and all things shall be added under you. Seek the
will and the way of God, and then everything else
will be added. We spend more time looking at God
for material things than we do for.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
The spiritual things.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
He said, If you seek me, you'll find me. I
want to know him like Paul. I want to know
God and the power of his suffering. I want the
more of the spirit of God to live and come
alive in me.
Speaker 2 (17:38):
I want to be able to walk in His spirit and.
Speaker 3 (17:41):
Be obedient to His word. More than I desire anything else.
You got to look at it. You can't eat but
one at a time. And so many people want to
just have so much to make you feel that you
are on a mountain in your mind.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
But I want a spiritual mountain in my spirit.
Speaker 3 (18:03):
I don't need a notural mountain. I need a spiritual mountain.
Eat another whole shot down. Lord, move the devil out
of my spirit, out of.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
My heart, and out of my mind, and out of
my soul. Moved the devil's thoughts away from me.
Speaker 3 (18:19):
My God, wand enough for safety to create a clean
heart in me and the right spirit.
Speaker 2 (18:25):
See, we need a right spirit.
Speaker 3 (18:27):
So many of us are running around with a wrong
spirit because we copy in someone else instead of trying
to get the real spirit of the Holy.
Speaker 2 (18:35):
Cop one neft for safe Flora, God.
Speaker 3 (18:39):
My God, I want the real spirit of God. You
can have all that stuff and still be empty. You
got everything in the house you think you can eat
for Thanksgiving and you're still hungry. You're hongry for the
spirit of God. You're houngry for another touch from God.
I don't know if you ever got hungry in your
spirit of my God. One not for sayd There's nothing
(19:04):
can satisfy that homegird like cheese. Nothing can heal that
desire like cheese. Nothing can wash away my sins, nothing
but the blood of Jesus. We need to be washed again.
We need to go back and come again. Hollylujah, glory
to God. We need another touch from Jesus. But I
(19:25):
like the other part of the verse. If you move
on down here with me, now he done say it.
If you pray, uh huh, if you believe.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
But then he.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Goes on to say, if necessary of forgiveness, and whenever
you stand praying, if you have anything and this is
verse twenty five, mark drop to eleven. If you have
anything against anyone, forgive him. That your father in heaven
may also forgive your trust passes. But if you do
(19:56):
not forgive, neither will your father in Heaven give your Trustpassone.
Ain't no need of you talking about you praying an
honest prayer, and you got mess in your heart against
somebody else. You running around hating somebody, won't the vicker
wont to fight with them? You ain't gonna get nothing
for the first thing about it. Once he can wash
(20:18):
us in our heart and sin has been removed, then
we have a right to the go and ask him
for something. But when you got animosity in your heart
and you don't like this one, and you don't care
for that one, and you want to straighten out folks
instead of living for Jesus, See, you're hindering.
Speaker 2 (20:37):
Your own blessing.
Speaker 3 (20:38):
Without a clean heart, You're not gonna get nothing from Jesus.
You've been crying, warfaring, caring on Lord, heal my body,
heal my mind. But you have not forgiven your brother
or your sister. You have not forgiven them. So how
can God forgive your sins? And when he healed the paraplegics,
he said, go your way and sin no more. See
(20:59):
Jesus for forgave his sins, then he healed his body.
He's got your sins. Our sins need to be forgiving
in order for us God to give.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
Us what we want of what we need.
Speaker 3 (21:12):
Sure, God has no respect to favor, but God does
favors for you.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
I believe that he smiles on you and he wants
you happy.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
And I believe he said He's satisfy your mouth with
good things so that your youth is renewed.
Speaker 2 (21:27):
As come on now.
Speaker 3 (21:29):
And so the bottom line is, don't be getting up
over folk. And you got a bad feeling for somebody
that you sitting right beside of somebody. You don't like
the way that they say things are to go. You
don't like the order that they have. But yet you
(21:50):
getting that praying buying in the devil. But you're trying
to bind them because you don't like the way they
do one things.
Speaker 2 (21:59):
But Jesus said, you must forgive.
Speaker 3 (22:03):
Those who trespass AGAs you forgive them who persecute and
abuse you. So you feel now if you feel they're
doing that, that okay. Then you know for yourself what
is transpiring in your life. But it cannot hinder your prayer.
When it hinders you reaching Jesus through prayer, then that
(22:28):
is the problem with you. The problem is not in God,
it's in us. The problem is not God, it's us.
The problem was not Jesus sleep And the problem was
that the sea rose up and the decit was knowing
that they were not one hundred percent in their heart
(22:48):
and that they couldn't swim. This is an understanding I'm getting.
They couldn't swim even though they were fishermen. When that
wind in that storm rose up, they got Jesus, Lord, Master, Master,
do you care if we perish? Yes, he cares. But
the trick to all of this is forgiving your.
Speaker 2 (23:09):
Brother or your sister. Forgive them for whatever it is.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
You got folk running around with animosity, and folks hard
because you started talking to sister so and so so,
and I was dating sisters so and so and so
about fifteen years ago. You jealous See Bible say, jealousy
is as cruel as the girl that does a song.
They may work on me, Jesus, work in my mind,
work in my soul, work and my spirit work on me.
(23:37):
See instead of you trying to pray the mountain down
the mountain, And that problem is on the inside of you.
Speaker 2 (23:44):
Sin, sin, weakness, liars, agitators, anger.
Speaker 3 (23:54):
God need to work all that out of us before
he can work on anything else. Some folks in the
hospital because they so angry. You I get you can
get sick when you that bitter and that angry and
that mad. You can't function, a lot of folks don't
know that, but you can hear the sowred. I've been
like that. You can hit a certain knob in my
(24:17):
You c used to could hit a certain part in
my life, and I would lose everything I had because
the sore, the wound had not healed. Reason why the
wound that the that I suffered, what the people said
or done, didn't heal because I didn't forgive 'em. And
I'm struggling and couldn't get nothing from God until I
(24:38):
came to the place to understand that forgiveness is a
healing within its e eqal shot city o shota go
to eken no normal sea, no shot no sireh. Forgive
in order to receive the blessing, the internal blessing of God.
Stop looking for natural blessing, look for the spiritual outpouring
(25:03):
of His spirit in you. We cannot do anything unless
we do as Jesus. Jesus told his father when he
was at the cross, forgive them, for they know not
what they were doing when they cared into the cross,
when they lied.
Speaker 2 (25:18):
On him and spit on him.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Hall Ladylujah one dolla o see glory when they gambled
his clothes off after he had gone to his father
to even shot allas see nothing. Don't shy ya, Jesus said,
forgive them, for they know not what they're doing. Forgiving
a person don't mean you got to pull them back
in your bosom and you gotta be all over them.
(25:43):
You don't even have to talk to them about it.
All you have to do is forgive them in your
heart and in your spirit. And you don't have to
say nothing because you'll be trying to make yourself look good.
They'll say something that will cause you not to be
able to forgive them, and for you know it, you
back in the same boat you was in Ino shot dalla.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
None of those shot.
Speaker 3 (26:05):
God wants to work on your heart, in your mind,
and it ain't got nothing to do with them. God
may have used them to bring you to a place
of forgiveness, to teach you forgiveness.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
You don't know.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
Ecodo shin, thank you Jesus, but forgive them. Forgive so
that you can be spiritually delivered in shining own sire.
I ain't got to lay hands on you for you
to get that hollerlujah. Why not for say it? You
see folk get hands laid on and they shlain in
(26:36):
the spirit. That's because God is taking something out of
them in the spirit. A lot of times people want
to demonstrate deements coming out and what God will slay
you in the spirit and command and take that devil
out of you, and no one never hear it. Eco
shot shot. But you will know the change in yourself.
You will know the miracle that God has before him
(26:57):
in your life. And then God would demonstrate what He's
done in you because he will get the glory out
of your life. Say glory to God. Ask God to
get the glory out of your life out of you completely.
Ask God to give you the spirit of forgiveness. Evil
shining on old sea. Because carring around, carried it around
like that, you're hurting yourself. You're hindering your blessing. You're
(27:20):
hindering receiving what Christ has for you. Seek y first
the Kingdom of God and all of His righteousness, and
all things shall be added none than you. I'd rather
have Jesus than silver, gold and riches. I'm told I'd
rather have Jesus than have multimillion dollars in the bank today.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
It wouldn't do me any good without Jesus.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Hallelujah one Mepho Savior, every multi bigger there I've heard.
The first thing out of their mouth is they thank God.
He calling all over civildial shining a little Siah.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
God has got to be able to trust us.
Speaker 3 (27:55):
God has got to know that whatever he do for us,
we're not gonna turn our back on him.
Speaker 2 (28:00):
We're not going to go back to being.
Speaker 3 (28:02):
The rude and unsaved person that we were. God gives
you things to keep you. He doesn't want to lose you.
He sent his son that none should pa.
