You'd be talking about these around the water, cool, the
dinner table, no matter where you are.
Speaker 1 (01:06):
These are those stories.

Power buy our good foots at heartlod home mortgage, you
buy refly Wait now maybe the time to do it
because the prices on homes right now, once the Fed
actually starts to lower those rates are going to go
through the roof, so it may make more sense to
you to buy now refight down the road. I was
talking to Dave about this the other day. We're gonna
have those conversations in the coming days and what he
sees coming and what he's hearing, how he can help

There's more good news.
Speaker 2 (01:48):
Missouri Squad member Corey Bush was defeated, so the squad
is shrinking in Missouri. She lost to our Democrat opponent. Yesterday,
Paul Hudson won his race against Michael Marky. He will
face freshman Democrat Congresswoman Hillary Schulton in Michigan surred congressional district.
Speaker 1 (02:08):
Ottawa impact lost their majority.
Speaker 2 (02:11):
It looks like yesterday on the Ottawa Border Commissioners this
it's being reported this morning. More details on that and
we'll talk about what it could mean moving forward. But
there was big news from the small town of Green
Charter Township up north in Acosta County, a near.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Clean sweep in candidates.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
They're united against the CCPE link Goshen Electric vehicle battery plant,
and in Micosta County itself, majority of the candidates opposing
that hole debacle making it on. They have majority now
on the Micnsta County Commission Board. It's a big win
(02:51):
against this fight and the Communist Chinese Party link battery plant.
Big win for those folks in Macnsta County up north.
It's a big win for me get in a big
win for the United States China. It'll be interesting to
see what happens with Goshen in the days ahead. I
don't think it looks good for them. I'm just gonna
lay that out. And so it begins. Dana Nessel now
(03:13):
sending out seasid assist letters threatening certain individuals over election misinformation.
One woman joins us later today with her story. It's
beginning to get picked up and go national, and it
ought to.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
It paints a very disturbing tale.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Kamala picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walls to be her running mate,
maybe the only one left of her. This is really
really incredible and Actually, it could be a very good
thing for us.
Speaker 1 (03:45):
Tim's got a wild record.
Speaker 2 (03:46):
Although he comes off more reasonable than her.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
His record is anything.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
But he's the one who presided over the riots in
twenty twenty, failing to send out folks in the National Guard,
and then Kamala bailed them out.
Speaker 1 (04:05):
It's teamwork makes makes a dream work. We're gonna hear
from you this morning as well. Coming up.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
In just moments, Cammi Kamala Weirdo Walls what a ticket called?
Speaker 3 (04:18):
Justin now at six one six seven seven four twenty
four twenty four. That's six one six seven seven four
twenty four twenty four West Michigan Live with Justin Barklay
on News Radio Wood thirteen hundred and one oh six
nine a f M.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
Not to be crude, but they're also calling him tampon Tim.
And the reason is, well, this is and I don't
like to talk about it either, but the reason there
is they should be talked about is Key's made it
possible now that in mandated in those schools in the
in Minnesota that in the boys' bathrooms, uh, they're putting
(04:54):
feminine hygiene products. I thought, let's get to know Tim
Walls who is He Probably a little better, i'mption than
to talk to John Justice, formerly on World Radio here
in a couple of other radio stations through out West Michigan.
He made a trip down to Arizona and eventually to Minneapolis,
where he hosts mornings on Twin Cities News Talk Now,
(05:14):
our sister station, and he's got the latest John on
who this guy really is?
Speaker 4 (05:20):
Look a, thank you so much for having me on.
My pleasure.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
So the the you know, you do a radio show
in fact in Minneapolis, you're on right now and people people,
in fact, you could switch over and listen on the
iHeartRadio Apple kind of like sister stations. The thing is,
you know exactly who Tim Walls is, and we may
have had a glimpse. In fact, we're starting to see
some of these pictures come up in the videos. One
(05:46):
of my favorite so far is unfortunately the videos of
the you know, the streets in the city on fire
Minneapolis and going back. Well, he's the governor during all
of this, and Bear's responsibility in a large part for
some of it, but there's so much more.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
I know, you have the dirt well, and.
Speaker 4 (06:04):
It's what's interesting to me in this relatively short period
of time, you know, since this announced. This announcement was
the fact that it seems like nobody else really knows,
you know, who Governor Tim Walls is. And you're right
when you look at the list of controversies that surround
the time that he's been in office, the one that
you mentioned is probably the one that really pops first
(06:27):
in my mind, and that is his hesitation to call
him the National Guards to go and stop the rioting
in downtown Minneapolis that ended up resulting in three nights
of destruction to this once great city and has since
perpetuated this continued rising crime and the downfall, the fall
(06:49):
of Minneapolis. We have a guest on our show weekly
from ALP News, Liz Colin. You know, she's the person
who wrote the book on this. They're lying relating to
George Floyd, but was behind the Fall of Minnie Appleist documentary.
But you're right, there's a lot more than that. I mean,
even going back to his Forconian lockdown measures during COVID
and almost five one hundred million dollars worth of chronicled waste,
(07:15):
fraud and abuse underneath the dfl the Democrats in the
state during his launch.
Speaker 2 (07:23):
Okay, so you just mentioned COVID and I saw this today.
This is why I love the Internet. They save everything
and it always comes back right when you need it.
Here's the clip of the line that he had. Apparently
he had some sort of hotline where you could call
in and rat out your neighbors if they left their house.
Speaker 1 (07:43):
Crazy.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Yeah, you have reached the part of public baby stay
at home hotline. The information you leave is considered public
information at the tone. Please leave the.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
Following information your name, your callback number, how to.
Speaker 6 (07:58):
Stay at home order is being violated, and where the
stay at home order was violated?
Speaker 1 (08:04):
Thank you.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
I mean it's unthinkable now, but uh that that's that's
what he was up to. You can you imagine him
as a vice president or god from bad even worse?
Speaker 4 (08:15):
Sadly? I can, and you'll have to send me that audio.
I gotta down for myself. Yeah, now listen, you know,
and real quick on that. You're right, you know, he
asked the citizens of Minnesota to go and stitch on
each other. You know, he he pushed forward like so
many other Democrat governors across the country. He's for cony
and lockdowns that destroyed businesses. He sent there is a
(08:39):
there is a similar scandal here in Minnesota that's very
close to what happened under Cuomo in New York. He
simply wasn't talked about of him sending senior citizens to
nursing homes. Ye, that ended up, in my opinion, costing,
costing lives. And he did. He turned Minnesota's against each other.
Kamala Harrison and Tim Walls, I call them tim Jong Walls.
(09:02):
That's friend. I'm hoping Trump adopts that. I'm trying to
get it out into the ether. But there are two
pees in in a radical progressive Marxist pod. In my opinion,
both would be disasters for this country.
Speaker 2 (09:17):
Yeah, it really, it really is. You uh, you know,
it's funny you mentioned that. The other thing we have
about his crazy left is another clip here where he
admits to being a socialist and just kind of laughs.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Another reach out.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
Make the case and for one thing, don't don't ever
shy away from our progressive values.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
One person's socialism is another person's neighborliness.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
Well, so I don't know how neighborly it is to
you know, rat your neighbors out to burn the city down,
let it go, and then and then send you know,
thousands of sick folks from hospitals in the nursing homes,
affecting and killing douth. We have the same situation with
our governor, and a lot of these people were taking
their cues from each other, talking to one another. Yeah,
(10:04):
these are these are very bad. All the things they
did resulted in very, very bad outcomes, and they've never
been held accountable.
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Well, and to that quote of one person's socialism is
another person's neighbor, really, miss, I mean, that's like saying,
you know, one person's serial killer is another person's population control.
It's a ridiculous statement. But this, this is what he's
good at, and this is part of the reason why
I think he was chosen. He's incredibly savvy when talking.
Speaker 5 (10:33):
To the media.
Speaker 4 (10:34):
He shifts on a dime. He knows the audience he's
speaking to. When he's on the white Suits for Kamala
Zoom Call, which is where that clip was from, he'll
be he'll go into a tack dog mode and he'll
use all the names and language that I can't even
play on my show, you can't play on your show.
But when he shifts the local media like he did
(10:56):
at Viking's training camps this week, in the middle of
all the VP speculation, he turns into the flannel wearing
you know, Viking fan folks who he's very very pediousavvy,
and that's what Kammalin needs to shield herself from the
criticism that's coming because of all the past statements that
she's made. He's going to be very very good at
(11:18):
making sure that he can counter those arguments. He speaks
almost susponstantly in a hyperbole, which leaves the interviewers very
little room to go and criticize him. He's a hack,
in my opinion, but he's incredibly good at what he does.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
Do you think is there's some of this reason for
choosing him. Do you think it's because she's She's.
Speaker 1 (11:38):
Done very little.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
She hadn't done an interview, she hasn't answered any questions.
Everything's been basically scripted for her since she's announced, since
Joe basically said he was out, but since they pushed
him in front of oncoming traffic.
Speaker 1 (11:54):
Do you think that's why they chose him?
Speaker 2 (11:56):
Is because he's going to be the face and go
out and do the media stuff.
Speaker 4 (12:02):
I think that he is a safe pick for her.
I think there's I think there's there's as much, there's
as much to talk about relating to why the other
individuals didn't want to write. I think that there's that
as well, right, But I think that he's a He's
safe for Kamala because you're not. She's not losing any
people that have already jumped on board the Kamala Harris family,
so she's not going to lose anybody. He's a safe
(12:24):
pick in that regard. My expectation is once you see
this team come together, is they're going to try to
rebrand Kamala as being more middle of the roads than
what she's done in her you know, in her interviews
and past time and running for office. They're going to
try to cast her as a moderate and Walls will
be sort of the aggressive progressive. But again, he will
(12:46):
know which audience he's talking to. If he's talking to
a very friendly outlet that's going to play along, you'll
see him take a very rancorous, venomous tone when talking
about JD Bats, fans, and Trump. But if he walks
behind it, I mean line and does you know any
any sort of safer outlet for conservatives, you'll see him
(13:06):
sort of pull back on that. He's he's I don't
call him a used car salesman because I don't like
to have bet us car salesman. He's more.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
In my view, let's not offend those guys either though.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
So so here's some of the things that are coming
out right now, just a list of some of the
things we mentioned. Field Blm riots erect a city changed
Minnesota state flag to resemble Somalia's flag. That's a new one.
I haven't heard much about that. What's that story.
Speaker 4 (13:34):
So, an activist group at one point decided, and I
don't know how many years ago, they decided that our
our Minnesota state flag was racist.
Speaker 5 (13:43):
It depicts.
Speaker 4 (13:46):
It depicts a character, a caricature of a farmer filing land.
Next to that is a Native American on horseback, and
I think it was the originally designed to sort of
show the the kindred spirits.
Speaker 1 (13:58):
Coming together that brings.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
So because they had determined they had made this argument
this was a racist flag, they decided to go ahead
and change the flag. And honestly, I never had a
new tune with it. I know stinks had done this
before Colorado, specifically for tourism reasons. They want something they
can throw on a hat and a T shirt and market. Okay,
and our flag was a very sort of traditional classic
flag that had elements, you know, representing the state. Well,
(14:23):
they contained the thirteen member panel, and it was clear
from the beginning that they were never going to come
to any sort of consensus on a great design. What
they ended up with was something that at first one
looks like a minimal lingoarette box, but really when you
show it side by side with the Somali flag, it
looks like the Somalis flag. And that appeared to be
(14:46):
a blatant pander to a very large Somali community. Now
there's nothing wrong with that, right, I don't have any
issue with that. However, the people you know in the
state of Minnesota were really upset that this flag no
longer representative of the great things the state has to offer.
It was done for more political expediency and potentially to
(15:08):
cater to a particular demographic that they feel is more
aligned with the left of the Democrats in the DFL
here in Minnesota.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
I have a feeling we may be talking to you
a little more often in the days with the inside
scoop on this guy because he's not who they will
portray him to be, and.
Speaker 1 (15:28):
Quite a background.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
I'm looking at stuff about his DUI and ninety five
and then some issues about him his time and service
in the military, and boy, it just looks like there's
probably it's all going to end up coming out at
some point, and I'm sure you'll be on the front
lines for it all.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Listen, I'm telling you I call him Tim John Walls
for a reason because it's the most appropriate moniker the
guy can have.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Well, thank you for taking the time.
Speaker 2 (15:54):
I'm actually kind of excited about about having him on
the ticket because they're they're really I mean, I know
they're going to try and hide it, but they can't
hide how crazy, how left, how wacky this ticket's going
to be. But well, I'm sure have much to talk
about in the day's ahead, John Justice. Where can folks
find you? Keep up with you online?
Speaker 4 (16:13):
Yeah, I'm on to any news talk, but you can
follow me on the sociales. I'm on x at John Justice.
That's stay o N can also find me on TikTok
d John Justice and on Instagram d John just as well.
And thank you so much for having me on I
inviuite me back anytime. I'm happy to do it.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
There you got it, John Justice, who really is chim Wells.
By the way, you missed that you can hear it,
send it out. I would send it out to other
people so that they know it too, they get the
scoop out of the guy is well. Make sure it's
in the podcast justin barclay dot com or the iHeartRadio.
Speaker 1 (16:44):
App wherever you download your podcast.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
More Mike Rogers on the way, Paul Hudson and the
story that is going national not right now, are breaking
right here out of West Michigan. A Gene Dana Nessel
coming after and threatening to criminally prosecute someone over Facebook
posts that they call election misinformation.
Speaker 1 (17:09):
What an upside down. Where we're at Great Good Radio,
the big day after.
Speaker 2 (17:22):
Thank you primary day yesterday.
Speaker 1 (17:24):
We got some big wins to talk about.
Speaker 2 (17:26):
Mike Rogers, Republican for Senate. He'll take on Alyssa Slockett
taking on Hillary Sculton, the Democrat in Michigan's third district.
Will be Paul Hudson, who joins us now on the phone.
Congratulations and welcome in Pup. Appreciate you taking the time
to be here with us today.
Speaker 5 (17:45):
Well, thank you, Justin. Good to be on with you
this morning. Like you said, big day, really nice, nice
victory yesterday and really waking up what feeling a lot
of gratitude to the voters of West Michigan this morning.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
Now you got about ninety days to head down and
charge again. This election never been more important. Obviously with
the Senate, Mike Rogers and that race got a chance
to take back control of the Senate. But in the
House it's also very important. It's just a small margin there.
Republicans hold like to see that widen especially would like
to see President Trump is top of the ticket winning
(18:21):
and a chance to really turn course here in the country.
But in order to make that happen, boy, we need
all hands on deck.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Don't we.
Speaker 5 (18:29):
Yeah, that's exactly right, Justin. And you know, I also
want to first of all congratulate Michael Marky for running
a very strong race. You know, we're both competitors, We're
both former college baseball players, so we've both been on
you know, both sides of wins and losses. It doesn't
make it easier, but a lot of respect from anyone
who enters the arena, and certainly wish nothing Michael nothing
(18:52):
but the best in the future. As for us, you know,
we're we were not only finishing through the tape yesterday,
but like you said, we've got ninety days until November
fifth and this general election, so we're sprinting, sprinting to
the to the tape and that's the real finish line here.
Like you said, this is a tremendously important see a
(19:12):
nationwide battle ground seat. So this will be a very
spirited contest this following. We look forward to taking the
case of the voters that we needed, we need to
take the seed back.
Speaker 2 (19:24):
You know, it's interesting because we just saw you know,
Kamala Harris as the top of the ticket for the Democrats.
Uh you know, you almost think couldn't be more extreme,
but wait, wait, there is more. In fact, it does
get worse. She went to somebody even left of her
for her VP pick and the Governor Tim Watson Minnesota,
it appears, and uh boy, you're just talking about a
(19:48):
very clear, like crystal clear differentiation between what you're going
to get between the Republican Democrat top of the ticket
and I think it's.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
Very similar for your races.
Speaker 2 (20:00):
Well, you've got somebody in Hillary Skolton who's the freshman
Democrat congresswoman from West Michigan here who you know.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
First vote right out of the gate.
Speaker 2 (20:08):
Is one of the most extreme I've ever seen, and
she does it over and over and over again. Yet
when she campaigned those TV commercials, sitting on the porch
with her Bible, talking to people like she wanted to
see Democrats she got to quit spending so much, you know,
and Republicans you get it together too. So she's just
sitting there like she's right in the middle, just like
everybody else. But she couldn't be more extreme, and her
(20:29):
record on the border is horrific.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
Well, I think we're starting to see a little bit
of a pattern here justin this is the same playbook
that we saw from Biden Harris in twenty twenty. You know,
we're going to be centrist unifying. That's the same thing
we saw from Hillary Scholton last cycle in twenty twenty two.
She ran as a promising to be a moderate, bipartisan centrist,
(20:56):
and then she got to Washington and she has a
ninety six party line voting record. To give you some
perspective on that, I mean, that's that's worse than you know,
far left politicians like AOC and Rashida Tali. So after
promising that, we got something completely different once she got
to got to Congress, and you know, like you said,
(21:19):
on all of the important issues for whether it's border security, inflation,
and spending, we all remember that ad too, right, I
mean she's sitting on her porch and says Democrats stop
the spending. Well, then she gets to Washington and supports
every every spending, uh spending, every nickel that we've got.
So that's that's certainly the contrast that we're going to
(21:41):
be drawing here. If West Michigan is looking for the good,
common sense conservative that West Michigan has always looked for,
then this is the campaign and Hillary Skoldman is not
who she begins to be.
Speaker 1 (21:53):
Paul, how'd you make in the case?
Speaker 2 (21:54):
And of course, Reli, you've got ninety days out now
from that that big race, Paul, anything else on your
radar as you dig in and try to go out
there and and and really got to wake as many
people up as possible going So the turnout wasn't necessarily
huge in this primary, and it makes you wonder, is
there any work that needs to be done to sort
(22:16):
of shake people and get the enthusiasm, the energy going,
because we're going to need everybody, all hands on deck,
everybody coming out and participating here.
Speaker 5 (22:27):
Well, I did. There's a lot of work to do,
and I think the turnout reflects people being exhausted with politics,
being just fed up with the results that they've seen
for good of Washington the past few years. And I
understand that the problem is if we want to change that,
(22:47):
if we want to break that cycle, we need better
leaders in there. And so that is certainly going to
be a big part of the effort over the next
few months to you know, can convince folks that hey,
all is not lost here right. I'm an eternal optimist.
I believe that we can make things better, and we
(23:09):
need people to get get engaged again, and we need
to go take a seat back.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
Online Paul Hudson, people want to find out more. Maybe
they want to get a chance to reach out, shake
your hand, talk to you, maybe ask you a couple
of questions, and maybe even volunteer and help your campaign.
What's the best way.
Speaker 1 (23:24):
To do that?
Speaker 5 (23:25):
Best ways at our website Paul Hudson for Congress dot Com,
And it's you know, it's been a real privilege.
Speaker 4 (23:33):
It is.
Speaker 5 (23:33):
It is a pretty special thing to run for office
in the United States of America. I take take this
very seriously. Look forward to getting out and shaking every
hand in this district that I can't. So if you
see me out around town, flag me down and I'll
tell you what I'm all about.
Speaker 2 (23:52):
Paul Hudson, Thank you for taking the time to be here.
Paul Hudson, we're short on we may be able to
(24:17):
make up with in other ways, just a good old
fashioned hard work and an elbow grease.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
How did chance to talk with Mike Rogers?
Speaker 2 (24:28):
Will let you hear a little bit of this, will
be able to listen to the full conversation in our podcast.
But had a chance to talk with Mike Rodgers, former
congressman now the Republican nominee for Senate here in Michigan
on my morning show on Detroit this morning, and a
great conversation. Mike had this to say, And if you're
staring down what we are here in the Michigan who
(24:50):
had in fact the country, it really makes you think
there's never been maybe a more critical election in the
one we face right now. Mike, appreciate you taking the
time to be here with us today and congratulations.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
Hey, thanks, thank you very much. And I agree this
is the most consequential election of our lifetime. They're certainly
taking us in a direction that I don't recognize. I
don't think you recognize. And so we were excited. We
won every single county in the state last night, all
eighty three. And that is a great way to start
(25:25):
off starting to pull the party back together. Remember, this
is a family fight, a family stuffle. Now it's the
other team. We've got to come together, be in the
same boat, row in the same direction. So we could
take back to the United States Senate, so we could
put a little common sense back there for a change.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
What do you say to those folks, because you won
pretty handily last night. I don't think I saw it
was the end of it was seventy something percent or more. Massive,
massive win last night. What do you say to maybe
some of the folks that didn't see or maybe thought
they had issues or whatever it is, because we're going
(26:02):
to need everybody. That's that's the thing is President Trump
says too big a rig and a lot of ways
we just I mean, they gonna pull out all the
stops Democrats know what's at stake here. We got to
make sure that everybody shows up on game day November.
Again talking about the critical nature of that, But what
do you say to some of those people to try
(26:23):
and bring them in?
Speaker 1 (26:24):
And I know that's that's your goal.
Speaker 7 (26:28):
Oh absolutely, And just as we had Sandy Penciler who
started on a stage with Donald Trump and and myself
and said, hey, I'm out, and we are. We're standing
together for this because it's so important. I'm asking all
of those folks who said not sure about Mike Rogers,
learn more about us, give us a chance. I want
(26:49):
to earn your vote. But we don't have a lot
of time here to get this right. And if you
believe that their policy on the open border was good
for America, or you believe the policy to make gas
prices higher, if you believe that that mandate on EVS
is the right direction, then I'm probably not your guy.
But I know that everybody that voted against me yesterday
(27:13):
or probably more accurately for another candidate that they like.
We want you to know you're welcome here. We need
you here, and it is really important if we're going
to close that border, stop the crime that you see happening,
and the EV mandates make sure that they don't have
the single largest tax increase in the history of the
country next year, which is what they've proposed. You want
(27:35):
to talk about a bad economy. So those things mean
so much for the future of our country that I
think that this is our opportunity to win this seat
for Michigan citizens, and we're fired up about it. Check
us out online and give us a call, love to
catch up. I'd love to talk to you about how
(27:56):
we're going to win and why it's important that we win.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
There it is Mike Rogers, Republican nominee, take on Alyssa Slutkin.
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Here the full interview.
Speaker 2 (28:10):
We had a great conversation on the Detroit Morti Show
earlier today. You can go to Justin Barkley dot com
or the iHeartRadio app wherever you download your podcast. We
are back after this a story that's going to shock
the nation. The Attorney General here at Michigan now going
at violating First Amendment constitutional rights, dragging me of the
citizens here in Michigan going after people for posting what
(28:32):
she calls election misinformation.
Speaker 1 (28:35):
On their Facebook page. It's quite a crazy story. Taking
up nationally too.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
You'll hear directly from the individual that broke that story
sent me the letters she received yesterday. Get that coming
up after this on West Michigan Lit. It's a story
that's picking up statement going national right now. Michigan Attorney
General Dana Nasseil sending out seasoned assist letters, very threatening letters,
threading criminal prosecution for Facebook post and the gun that
(29:01):
got the message is on with us now. The Midwestern
of the Midwestern have goutess has a full article written
and apparently the Federalist has now written about it as well,
so it is up and online. I'll share those in
the stack today too. But I've got the individual who
was targeted by this, and I know that previously you
were you were kind of remained anonymous. I don't know
(29:22):
if you wanted to still remain anonymous or not in
this situation.
Speaker 1 (29:27):
It's up to you.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
You know.
Speaker 6 (29:30):
I'm torn. I'm torn because of the threat that was
given to me. But at the same time, I am
a real person and this did happen to me and experience,
so I'm torn. So I'm going to say, you know what,
(29:51):
if you want to put my name out, that's fine.
Because I am a real person. It did happen to me,
and and you know, it's just it is what it is.
And if it happened, who else did it happen to.
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Well, let's call you Carrie, uh, and then you can
you can decide how much further you want to go
down the road. But I don't really think there's an
issue because they obviously know who you are, because they've
they've sent this.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
Letter to you. I know who you are, but you
know the audience.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
I think, honestly, it's not really as important of who
you are is it is important to what happened and
what the Attorney general in this state has done alongside
and in the context. I've had people respond and and
reach out about this story. UH, former journalist UH one
(30:46):
online talking about the story and just completely lacking the context,
taking taking issue of what you have said and what
was said on Facebook, UH, saying that you're wrong and
we'll get into all of that too here in a minute,
but UH, and that that this is this is a
dumb game to play. And I've thought to myself, you know,
(31:08):
in the context of it, to look at this without
the context of where we are now, let's just it's important.
We're being told Secretary of State has started a misinformation hotline.
She wants to know and anybody's spreading election misinformation, she
wants you to rat your neighbor out. Secondly, the Detroit
Free Press Free Press is asking people to do this
(31:31):
as well. It came out just the other day, report
to us any of this election misinformation you see, that's
that's floating around and uh and the Secretary of States there,
we're going to go after these people. Well, it just
it just so happens your story comes on the heels
of that major announcement that she made on national news.
(31:52):
So there's context to this, and it's very concerning. I'm
just going to say this, I don't care whether you
what you posted was right wrong, or you posted something
about the flat earth or anything else. You have the
right to do these things, and particularly your First Amendment
right ought to protect that. And the fact that we
even having this conversation, I'm appulled, but nothing surprises me anymore. So, Carrie,
(32:15):
what did you post on Facebook?
Speaker 6 (32:19):
So at first I posted so our township had changed
the pulling location and a resident made that known, And
at first I just posted a post stating, you know,
I don't know if you know this or not, that
the pulling locations were changed. That's when my phone blew
up and people were saying this isn't legal. And then
(32:40):
somebody sent me a screenshot of the board meeting minutes
of when they changed they approved and if then voting
location changed. But there's even more to that too, that
that was a problem, And so I made a couple
(33:00):
of videos that was clarifying what was going on. I
foyer requested some stuff and and found out some craziness
going on regarding it. So I I was posting information
so that our voters could have could have informed information
(33:20):
to cast a vote. And the one thing I do
want to say about that letter is it never told
me what I said that was misinformation in it.
Speaker 1 (33:30):
Yeah I know, I said too.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
It never said you know, if you if you feel
this is an error, please call it.
Speaker 4 (33:39):
There was, oh, there was.
Speaker 6 (33:40):
There was never anything like that.
Speaker 2 (33:43):
It was very threatening anybody that's read the letter. In fact,
maybe I maybe I should should read part of this
letter so that the folks can can hear the language.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
And I just did.
Speaker 2 (33:52):
It is a short letter, but essentially it is a
demanding that she cease and assist. Just cease and assist.
Noticed is to inform you that you are in violation
of Michigan electional law. Has come the attention of our office.
You have spread misleading or false election information regarding polling
locations in Ross Township through online sites. It goes on
(34:13):
to say that they believe that the pulling locations were
legally approved and selected by township boarding clerk. Any false
or misleading information you posted should be removed across all platforms. Therefore,
you are here by order to cease and assist the
use of online platforms to continue spreading false or misleading
information regarding the Ross Township pulling locations. Failure to comply
(34:37):
with this notice may result in criminal prosecution. This was
signed Robin N. Ladell, Division, Chief Criminal Trials Division. Again,
nobody wants to get this letter. Nobody wants to have
to deal with this or contact an attorney or anything.
After you got What did you do after you got
(34:59):
that letter? By the way, that's all that we have
time for today. But if you want to hear more
of that, I'm going to podcast it. The full interview
will be up online. You can hear from Carrie and
and what else happened behind the scenes. Is this thing
is just starting to get reported and go nationwide. We'll
have that Austin Barklay dot com, the iHeartRadio app wherever
(35:20):
download your podcast. In fact, I'll play some of it
coming up to the after show after this we stream
it everywhere justin Barclay dot com and the iHeartRadio app
of the podcast after back tomorrow with more.
Speaker 1 (35:32):
May get a great day, God bless what
