Speaker 1 (00:00):
Rogers running against slocking Shanghai sluckin some calling her signing
in DA's with Chinese Communist Party, link companies and more. Mike,
thanks for taking the time to join us today. Appreciate
you being.

Speaker 2 (00:13):
Here with us, Justin It is always great to be here.
Thanks for having me.

Speaker 1 (00:18):
So I've got to start with a couple of things.
I want to talk about your polling and all of
the things. Matter of fact, I still read something this
week that shared the Senate races to watch and the
balance of the Senate really hinging on a few of
these races. Your race was one of those prominently talked about.
But first I want to talk about story of the day,
and in fact, there's two big ones, but I want

(00:41):
to talk about We'll start with the Green Day concert
last night in Detroit and just security concerns. I don't
even know if you're up to speed on this, but
there was a concert at k America Park last night.
They had to stop it at some point because there
was a drone flying around. Polease thought at the time, Hey,
this is probably everything that's going on these days, and
I'm glad they aired on the side of the caution

(01:02):
for this. Let's stop the concert and investigate this. Drone
attacks are one of the things that we're seeing happening overseas,
particularly with this sort of new sort of warfare that
we're dealing with, and it put for me. I've been
watching these things and really concerned thinking about the potentiality

(01:25):
for drones to be used in big events, assassination attempts,
terror attacks, and things of the like. So I just
wanted to get your sort of the take on that
the pulse of this situation as we see an increase
of national security threats, the weaker our country appears on
the global stage, and of course our border wide open.

(01:49):
This is an everyday right and a concern that we
probably have to take more seriously.

Speaker 2 (01:55):
No, you are absolutely right, justin drones are cheap, and
they're easy to obtain, and they are kind of hard
to defeat, especially in a civilian setting. So this is
something that law enforcement's going to have to regear for
to make sure that we have all the tools available
to a law enforcement community to go after these drones.

(02:18):
And there's several ways they can do it without shooting
missiles up and hit and that's that's obviously not desirable
and not safe. And so there are other ways, and
there's other technology on the horizon that would allow us
to take those drones down safely, so that if somebody
drifts into an area where there shouldn't be one, they

(02:39):
have other means right now, they just don't have a
lot of ways to defeat it. That's my concern. That's
certainly a problem we're going to have to worry about.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
It's something that hopefully will continue to be able to
talk about and maybe raise awareness on as we push
folks to really take these things seriously. I know law
enforcement and Detroit did, and that's a good sign. I think.
The next piece is the horrific story another attack on
a school there in Georgia, this time around. Heart just

(03:07):
goes out to the folks in the community there, but
the parents having to deal with the weight being left
and awake of this. I'll think four dead, two students,
two teachers, many others injured as well, fourteen year old
in custody. Here's the part that I'm particularly interested in
these stories. Unfortunately, more and more you're hearing about them.

(03:32):
I'm really I'm concerned about the mental health aspects of
these stories, but not only that. In this particular case,
we're learning that the FBI had prior contact with this
fourteen year old. He was on their radar for over
a year. Apparently he had made some sort of threat.

(03:53):
Possibly they looked at him and when he was thirteen
years old?

Speaker 2 (03:59):
This what do you?

Speaker 1 (04:00):
What do you as former FBI? What does what does
this say? And how did we not know? Apparently? I'm
also reading they had advanced warning the day of this
attack as well at the school.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Well, clearly we have a mental health crisis in America,
and I think it is spurred along by social media.
I mean, when you think about the sheer level of
these younger teenagers being radicalized to the point where they
think it's okay to go in and kill people, we've
got a problem. And it's just not that justin they had.

(04:38):
I mean, obviously this is awful, and our hearts and
prayers go out to the families that are trying to
live through this and the kids that had to suffer
through it and now will have you know, obviously have
issues they're going to have to deal with coming back
to school and doing other things. But we have this
rising problem in schools. Twenty twenty two, think of this

(05:00):
thirty percent of teenage girls thought about committing suicide. Thirty Yeah,
this is a mental health crisis. And so when somebody
like does something like this, or you have thirty percent
of our young daughters out there thinking that suicide might
be an answer for them, we have this huge, huge problem,

(05:21):
and we're just refusing to deal with it. We are
going to have to deal with access to social media,
what it means for these young kids, what it means
in their development, and what it means to I mean
to push them into dark places. And if we don't
get ahead of that, we are I think we're headed
for more serious consequences here in the future.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
Yeah, and I hate to say this, but at a time,
you know, I know what the answer is not. The
answer is not taking the ability to defend themselves, the
American people, the ability to defend themselves and their family
away from them at this At this point, I know
there's going to be a lot of political rhetoric about this,
particularly from the the left, in the days ahead, but

(06:02):
I just think that falls flat on a time where
we're seeing Venezuelan gangs taking over apartment complexes in Colorado,
We're seeing violence, and of course rape and murder and
all these things that are up in these in big cities. Uh.
And of course these are these things are finding their
ways into into suburban neighborhoods as well. I just hope that, uh,

(06:26):
that that folks can see through so I know that
the American people are are are definitely going to be
against those types of things. But to that point, you
you've been, uh, you've been ringing the alarm on this
border situation for a long time now. And uh, this
is another another area where we're seeing again Venezuelan gangs
and President Trump talks about it last night at the

(06:49):
town hall with Sean Hannity on Fox News. But these
things you never I never. I can't imagine a time
we ever thought this would this was going to happen
in America.

Speaker 2 (07:01):
No, And it has two levels of impact. One criminal
activity we had in Oakland County a miner was raped
by an illegal immigrant. Had another miner who had was
an illegal came into a commercial store and exposed himself
to a nine year old girl. And by the way,
as a law enforcement guy, I can tell you that

(07:22):
guy is either he's well on his journey to committing
a sexual assault. But if he's willing to do that,
he had to be deported seven times, according to the father,
seven times. Right. This is a critical problem and what
we need to understand. The three thousand deaths from fentanyl,
the rape of a minor, the rape of a miner

(07:44):
in Livingston County, the death of Ruby Garcia by an
illegal in Kent County. I was up north and they
were talking about how illegals are taking over hunting camps
and squatting in hunting camps up north. I mean, the
stories just keep coming and coming and coming. And the
thing is, we just don't have to do this. And

(08:05):
to have even my opponent who voted to make, you know,
not stop illegals from having the ability to vote, I mean,
something's wrong here. And those families who will pay a physical,
emotional financial price for the rest of their lives when
their daughter gets raped is unconscionable to me. And we

(08:25):
know how to stop it. And I think people should
be outraged and really hold Democrats responsible. In November, show
up to the polls and send them a very clear
message they don't want their country overrun by people who
are committing crimes in our state. Just talk to the
Oakland County sheriff yesterday, who now has this presence of

(08:46):
Colombian gangs operating in Oakland County. So you have Jillian gangs,
now you have Colombian gangs. Guess what, this is going
to get worse, and it's going to get worse, and
it's going to get worse. And so if we don't
do something ab we're all going to pay a price
for this, and just the cost of it. So these
the families who are here who are not affiliated with

(09:06):
criminal gangs showing up in our communities, overcrowding our schools.
We mean the cost for room and board and all
the other nonsense that they're doing for these illegals. It's
three hundred and fifty billion dollars figure I saw for
last year. That's enough to pay for every Michigan state
trooper and every Michigan teacher for fifteen years. What are
we doing and why we don't have to do this?

(09:30):
And we need to get control of this right away.
And here's the other second part of this. Guess what
all these people, even if they came here and weren't
part of a gang and weren't part of a criminal element,
now they know they're they're thinking, Okay, I have nothing
to do all day. And by the way, these gangs
are in these places where illegals hang out, recruiting them
to be drug mules, to push into sexual trafficking, to

(09:53):
help them in burglaries, to help them in carjackings. And
over time, what's going to happen? Some people are going
to say, hey, I need the money. Yes, I'm doing it.
I mean, we are just adding to our misery index
that the Biden Harris Slockin agenda has given us, and
we got to do something about it.

Speaker 1 (10:10):
Mike Rodgers running for Senate, looking to do something about it.
Rogersfirsenate dot com before we let you go polland coming
out Michigan a top GOP Senate target. You read it
write from Fox News here. This race is really heating up.
And I think, as we made the point this selection,

(10:30):
you're ever been more critical maybe in the country's history.
Even it's so important, the balance of the Senate. Lots
of things hanging here.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Oh yeah, I mean, and listen, my opponent said she
wouldn't vote for evs. When she went to Congress, she
voted for ed mandates. So listen, if we care about
the future of the country. You cannot rehire somebody. For
the last six years, that's given us this misery of
high gas prices, high grocery prices, high end energy prices.
That has it that we've had to import more food

(11:03):
than we've exported. We've missed every military recruiting a year
for the last four years. The Chinese are out building
our navy ships five to one. If that's what we
want to continue down, you know, then Slotkin's your person.
But I think we need a change in Washington, DC.
And we don't have a lot of time to get
this right and to get it fixed. The EV mandates

(11:25):
are killing our auto industry here, and if they get
their way, it will be hundreds, not tens of thousands,
hundreds of thousands of jobs in Michigan, good paying manufacturing
jobs gone. Think of your house. You know your value
of your house, the value of the economy, the value
of your small business, the value of that little cafe

(11:46):
that's now struggling under the weight and burden of all
these new regulations. Guess what now they don't have customers.
I mean, this is as serious as I've ever seen it.
That's why the race is tight. That's why people are
starting to say, hey, wait a minute, this is not
the America I want to get to my kids. That's
why you need to go to rogersforsenate dot com. Get involved.
We can win this race, but we need people on

(12:08):
the ground who care enough about the future of the
country to do something about it.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
You know, we barely have time to scratch the surface
really on all of these stories then even get to
talk about that aid for Governor Kathy Hochle in New
York that was just arrested Chinese spine. Know, you've been
tough on China and of course a big, a big
opponent of the battery plant they're trying to put in there,

(12:32):
all of these things that we barely, like I said,
have the time to get into. But we're doing our best.
I know it's got to be tough for you, your
head spending on the trail trying to make sure we're
covering everything. But that's part of this. I think we're
being hit from every angle. Now's the time the window
is closing on the opportunity to really turn this thing around,
and that's why this election is so important. As always, Mike,

(12:54):
I appreciate you taking the time. Love to have you
back on. We'll talk more about these stories that don't
don't necessarily get the covers that they deserve. In some places, Nah.

Speaker 2 (13:04):
They sure don't think of a member of Congress signing
a non disclosure agreement to facilitate a Chinese Communist Party
company building a factory in Michigan that will take away
Michigan worker jobs. That to me is why she should
be fired from the job she has, and b we
should never think about promoting her.

Speaker 1 (13:24):
Mike Rogers running for Senate in Michigan. The Republican and
of course Trump endorsed Rogers first Senate dot Com. Thank you,
sir Covlessy, Thanks justin.
