Speaker 1 (00:50):
A man that was a Pastor Lorenzo Soul, one of
the one of the rallies in Warren just the other
day before election day, and what a powerful moment. Pastor
Schill joins us now to talk about the election, the results,
and what happened here in Michigan, plus take you a
little bit behind the curtain with the Trump team. Pastor,
(01:12):
thank you so much for being here with us today.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Jess and I am so holy Goes happy to be
here with you and your listeners.
Speaker 1 (01:19):
Good morning, Good morning, I've got again. How are you
feeling after this? This an election day and now get
a couple of days in between.
Speaker 3 (01:28):
How you feeling today?
Speaker 2 (01:31):
Well, I'm not surprised. And the reason why I'm not
surprised is because when President Donald Trump came to our church,
remember he hadn't been to Michigan. I remember, he just
went through a court case, a brutal court case, thirty
four families. And when he came justin, not only did
he come to my church, he came to listening. We
as Black Americans, specifically in Detroit, we begin to debunk
(01:52):
all of the lives of Project twenty twenty five. We
begin to debunk all of the lives that he was racist.
We have an event every single Friday, all souls to
the polls where Democrats would come, Independence would come. We're
still doing it because we have a local election next year.
And what we saw justin is people were using their intellect.
And what the Democrats did was this, they underestimated the
(02:15):
intellect of black men, thinking that we listened to identity
politics and we respond to virtue signaling. So it was
not a surprise. We knew it was going to be
too big to read.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
You know, it really is interesting to see just you know,
when talking just pure politics and the demographics and the numbers,
not only did black men come out in big numbers,
but Hispanics as well. And I think that's surprising to
a lot of folks. As you mentioned, not surprising to you.
I know what you saw in your church, But what
(02:48):
do you make about some of these other numbers in
areas that we're hearing about as well, Its particularly Hispanics
and others.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
President Donald Trump he opened the door of the Republican
Party in terms of letting all people groups know they
could come. I remember when we did a gathering where
we had twenty six nations represented. Most people they had
never vold a Republican before. Some were Hindus, some were Buddhists,
some were Christians, some were Catholic, and when some were
(03:17):
a Syrian, An Egyptian, and they had one thing in common.
Life was better under President Donald Trump. And there was
a unifying American spirit that said that this is one
nation under God. And because of that justice the trajectory
in terms of people coming into the Republican Party and
voting Republican. But we've seen that move, and if I
(03:41):
was a Democrat, I would be so afraid right now,
not because of what happened just this past Tuesday, but
because of the continual momentum and trajectory of people that
typically would vote Democrats.
Speaker 3 (03:55):
You know, I had to tell you.
Speaker 1 (03:57):
I had I've been quiet about it for a while.
You just talked about what you were seeing and what
you were not surprised by. I was quiet about it
until the day before the election. And the reason was
I didn't want to It's not that I didn't want
to jinx it, but I didn't. I didn't want to
(04:17):
contribute to people becoming overconfident and then thinking, Okay, I
don't there's there's nothing I don't there's nothing I need
to do here. We see a lot of that anyway
with the church, and kind of getting complacent and thinking, well,
I can just sit at home. God's got this, He'll
take care of it. Well, he needs us to do
(04:39):
what we're called to. Two is kind of my thoughts.
So I say, you know, I got to make sure
I don't get two people too over confident. But I
mentioned it and I put it out the day before
because I just felt like, Okay, I need to be
on a record for this. So I said, what I
see coming is a you know, this is I'm gonna
(05:00):
what I'm feeling. This is my gut feeling. So I feel,
let's say, what I see coming is a victory, a
landslide victory, one that we haven't seen in decades, and uh,
maybe one that is on par with or maybe even
better then Reagan in eighty four. And I don't think
we necessarily reached that point of Reagan in eighty four.
(05:22):
But this victory was even bigger than I really thought,
when we went beyond what President Trump was able to
do with the three hundred and twelve electoral votes, but
also winning the popular vote, and on top of that
winning the Senate. Looks like he'll hang onto the house.
There's so many things to really get excited about, and
I think praise God for in this, in this all
(05:45):
of it, I I just I was blown away. And
I don't know how to describe it other than to
tell you I was at a prayer meeting the night
at his last rally. Instead of going to the rally,
I went to my church and we prayed and entire church,
and I know it wasn't just ours, but we hit
our knees, and we that whole. If my people were
(06:08):
called by my name, you know, if if we'll just
humble themselves and turn to me and all of.
Speaker 3 (06:14):
That, I believe that happened. I believe we hit our knees.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
I think this country, and I believe the churches in
many ways the not and maybe not all of them,
but enough of them did just that.
Speaker 3 (06:29):
And I believe.
Speaker 1 (06:32):
I told a friend of mine about a year or
so back, I said, look, if Trump wins, it's going
to be because of God, and I think it'll be
so clear, so decisive, so obvious that he gets all
the credit. So I know that that's kind of a
trick question, and I'm setting you up.
Speaker 3 (06:48):
But what are you saying?
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Justin I can tell you how accurates you are. Right now,
Remember all throughout scripture, God would want to destroy his people,
and then what would happen? And intercessor will come, whether
it was Moses, whether it was prophets of old, obviously
Jesus the greatest intercessor of all time. Right, So, when
you and I think about what happened in America in
these last four years, think about what happened to President
(07:15):
Donald Trump himself, think about what has gone on with
his family, think about the law fair and think about
the attempted assassinations. Think about our country literally backsliding to
a point where we were going into the abyss of hell.
But God, out of his good graces, out of his mercy,
and out of his kindness, rose up believers even if
(07:36):
they didn't vote, which I believe is the most ungrateful
thing you can do in a country that was founded
on religious freedom. They prayed, they prayed. I know they
were praying, and I know the people of God were saying, Lord,
we are your people, called by your name. We humble ourselves,
we pray, we seek your face, We turn from our
wicked ways. Hear from Heaven forgive our sin and heal
(07:57):
our land. That's the spiritual part, the political part. Vice
President Harris was spending time in Detroit and Pontiac. Why
was she spending time with people that she should have
already galvanized their votes? Because she was afraid. She was scared. Adversely,
President Trump was in Grand Rapids. Vice President elect JD.
Vance was in Flint. Why because he knew he had
(08:20):
shored up the white vote. He knew that so we
had to go into Democratic strongholds. Remember Gren Rapids is
only thirty nine percent Republican. He was there, Jadi Vance
in Flint when that happened, justin I knew, beyond the
shadow of a doubt. Vice President Harris knew that she
was going to lose because she was singing to the
choir when she had already supposed to have the choir.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
So where do we go from here? It feels like
morning in America. As I said here in the studio,
the sun is shining through the window, and I have
hope for this country. This is the part I don't
guess I really expected. I see now of even clearer
and a brighter vision of the future for my kids,
(09:04):
for their kids, for this country. And I knew, I said,
it's not just about the next four years. This is
about the next two hundred and fifty. And as America goes,
so goes the world. And here's what I mean. President
Trump's going to get an office, going to hit the
ground running from day one. He's going to make sure
and he'll do this in I believe, a humane but
(09:25):
a very decisive way where he is able to get
the deportations and done they'll call him repatriations. I think
that'll probably help to make that happen. But he'll get
this done. He'll give the folks in other countries throughout Europe.
I had lunch with a guy I don't know. You
(09:46):
may know him, father, Calvin Robinson. He's from the UK.
Interesting guy who's found himself here. But he's stood up
and he fought over there.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
And he told me Europe is lost. Why are you here? Father?
Speaker 1 (09:59):
He just found his found his way here to Michigan.
Because I said, what's your mission? Like, what are you doing?
I believe God brought me. I'm called here. He had
a TV show there in the UK and like all
of this just sort of went away from to come here.
And he said, I believe God brought me here to
warn Michigan, to warn the rest of the country of
(10:19):
what's possible. And if we don't get this right, you're
going to end up like Europe and the nightmare sort
of that that paints. We saw last night in Amsterdam,
Jews being attacked by Muslims and terrorist attacks and these
things that are happening because of the culture classes and
the things that are taking place there. So anyway, we
(10:42):
talked yesterday, and I think I believe that Trump is
going to prove that it can be done. The people
will rise up in Europe and ask for these same
things to happen as well, and they will take their
countries back as well, and God gets all the credit
and the glory for it as well. I think in
those moments, that's what this is all going to be about.
Speaker 2 (11:05):
You know, justin there's a couple different things. Spiritually, the
Church needs to be more involved in politics than ever. Remember,
twenty million Christians did not vote in twenty twenty, but
from the numbers that we're getting back about thirty four
percent uptick. We need to understand the power of the
Christian vote and we need to be more involved than politics.
Remember we have local elections next year, and remember the
(11:27):
year after that we have a guberatorial election. We need
to press in every pastor, every priest, everyone that calls
on the name of the Lord out of a pure heart.
We need to be equipping our communities with political understanding
so we can be political scientists that become revivalists. So
that's the spiritual part of it. When you look at
(11:49):
the practical part, President Donald Trump, he needs to regulate
the resources that are in poor black communities. Think about
these numbers. Justin you have over one thousand majority Blacks
cities in America. They all aren't the highest in crime, poverty, foreclosure, I, literacy,
The list goes on and on, human trafficking. If he
(12:09):
were just to regulate the resources in terms of HUT,
in terms of the Community Reinvestment Act, if he would
regulate the resources in terms of the SBA, those urban
communities that are in poverty, they will no longer need
a hand out because they've received the hand up. Let
me give you an example. Let Detroit right now, they're
(12:30):
over four hundre four hundred million. Think about that number.
Four hundred million dollars of ARCA funds that have not
been spent that should have gone to the people because
of the pandemic. And now the city council right now
is running around trying to figure out what they're going
to do with that money, right because they know President
Trump's in office now, So they had emergency meeting yesterday
(12:51):
at three o'clock in the afternoon. I find that a
little weird that they would have a emergency meeting at
three o'clock in the afternoon. Those are the type of
resources that we need to get to poor black communities
so that they can be able to understand that our
country loves them and that the resources are already there.
I believe God is about to use a great revive.
(13:12):
I believe there's going to be a great revival in Miland,
and it started on Tuesday.
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Well, from your lips to God's ears and to the
people as well, and to the church.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
That verse.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
It hit me yesterday that what we did on Tuesday
as a church, and what has happened here over the
last you know, year or so whatever it's been this timeframe,
this act of turning to Him and hitting our knees,
that it does not just take place once for the election,
(13:46):
but it's got to take place daily. That we would
turn from our wicked ways. That stood out to me.
I prayed at that meeting on Monday night, and that
stood out to hit me like a ton of bricks
in my own life. Whatever it is that I'm my wickedness,
whatever it is, and we all have it, that we
(14:06):
would do that search our lives, search our hearts for
where that is, and that we would root it out,
give it to Him and turn to him. I've got
I just believe that for that revival to happen, for
this country to be back on track, and for us
to be that shining beacon, that light on a on
(14:26):
a hill, that we've got to do that daily.
Speaker 2 (14:31):
Yeah, we have a huge opportunity to be compassionate to
our Democratic brothers and sisters, but also show them the
political competence that we have as a Republican party. I
believe that every pastor needs to press into the political
science to make sure that this never happens again, that
we that we don't backslide. The last four years we've
been backsliding. We almost put kidding me, look at what
(14:52):
we almost did, Look at what we almost allowed to
be in office. That is a spirit. It's a spirit
of Jezie Bell. That is horrible. Almost we've lost our country.
I don't think we understand that part. We came, what
millions of votes away from losing our country, and God,
out of his kindness, out of his mercy, out of
his compassion, he allowed us to come back to him.
And I'm so grateful. This isn't about trumping here, this
(15:15):
isn't about democratic Republican This was good and evil on
the valley and the American people told.
Speaker 1 (15:21):
Good Pastor Lorenzo, so you've been so great to it all.
Thank you for all your hard work, and we know
we continue to pray for you and what you're doing
obviously making a big difference. We still this is we
were so thrilled and excited on Tuesday night, but it
sets end that this today, this is where the real
work begins.
Speaker 3 (15:40):
This is just the beginning, and we got so much
more to do.
Speaker 1 (15:44):
One of the church, tell us where we can find
you and of course help support all your efforts.
Speaker 2 (15:50):
Thank you so much so as oneady church dot CC
souls so the polls will be tonight and then on
Instagram just my name Lorenzo sool on Instagram and we're
seeing Jesus do great things in the earth.
Speaker 3 (16:02):
Amen to that. Thank you, Pastor.
Speaker 1 (16:04):
Appreciate you being here and taking the time as always
always a pleasure.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
Thank you. He knows an honor to be with justin.
Speaker 3 (16:12):
You got it.
Speaker 1 (16:12):
We'll talk soon, Pastor Lorenzo sul and want to any
church and folks. As I said, just the beginning, just
the beginning of it all, and of course we'll make
sure that we continue to do all the work that
needs to be done here, because, like I said, this
is a fight. We're in it and we're not going anywhere.
I know President Trump is relentless, but we will be too,
