Speaker 1 (00:00):
That gana government sucks. Suit of happiness. Radios Deluxe Liberty
and Freedom will make you smile of a suit of happiness.
Us on your radio tole justice, Cheeseburgers, libri at.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Okay. Starbucks will switch from plastic cups to biodegradable cups
very soon. Hopefully other high profile names will follow their lead,
you know, like Madonna. Hi, everybody, greeting, thanks for joining
us this afternoon. Kenny Webster, you here a pleasure to
be with you. And at the end of the show,
I'm gonna hop in my car and drive over to
Rodeo Houston and I will be a judge in the
(00:46):
Canine cop contest. There, police dogs competing for your entertainment
to see who's the fastest, who's the hardest. They're gonna
track down and chase criminals while you laugh and applaud.
It's gonna be a lot of fun. I'll be judging
that With'sy from Grizzyhood News and Miss Texas will be
there as well. So not a bad way to spend
the evening. Come hang out with us. It should be
(01:07):
a lot of fun. You know who's joining us this afternoon,
whole bunch of people Michael Quinn Sullivan stopping by from
Texas scorecard dot Com. Apparently at Texas A and M
just the other day they had a really creepy they
called it draggy Land and it involved drag queens and
creepy people that would probably give you the probably give
you the chills if you saw them. We'll tell you
the story stick around. Something odd happened at Texas A
(01:29):
and M in College Station. Also stopping by Brandon Darby
with the latest from the border. We are rebuilding the
wall and more good news, but also some bad news
from the border as well, and it's a little violent
down there. We'll describe it to you. And finally, Stay
Representative Brisco Caine will be stopping by to tell us
what's happening in the latest from the legislative session. You know,
(01:50):
you have lawmakers in Austin, Texas right now. You want
to hear what they're doing with your money. I'd like
to know as well. There's a group that he and
Steve Toth and some others have started up called Texas
Doge and they're going to let us in on what
is going on there. I want to talk about to
start the show, since we won't be doing much discussion
of anything but Texas this afternoon. What's going on at
Disney and ABC, which is the same company technically, but
(02:13):
there's not really like there's not like a really good
ABC News song that I could play with without just
playing the ABC News themes. Instead, I decided to play
It's a Small World by Disney the You know Disney
they're globalist. Isn't this appropriate? I think so? Anyway? Breitbart
dot Com today reporting on how ABC News President I'll
(02:34):
just call him Alman because his last name is Kara Memadvovic,
and that's an odd name, so let's just say President
Alman is his name. He appeared to be reading from
a script and took no questions this week when he told, uh,
five hundred and thirty eight employees they were fired. Oh
I'm sorry, I read that wrong. Fifteen employees at five
(02:58):
thirty eight. We talked about this is that's a little different,
isn't it.
Speaker 3 (03:02):
No.
Speaker 2 (03:02):
I was like, no, you know what five thirty eight is.
We explained it to you yesterday on the show. If
you missed it. It was a polling and statistics company
and they are letting these people go because they have
predicted every election wrong since ABC News bought it, and
shortly afterwards, the staffers had their access to ABC news
systems cut off and no longer allowed to get on
(03:25):
the internet at work, no longer allowed to use the amenities.
You can't use the copy machine, your key to the
office bathroom no longer works. Get the hell out of here.
ABC News staffers told reporters that the layoffs were akin
to a massacre, with employees visibly crying and upset as
they roamed the hallways of the Manhattan offices this week,
(03:46):
a very somber scene discovering that, well, all we did
was misreport the news for the last few years and
lie to people. I mean, you guys act like we
did something wrong. What's a big deal. In the meantime,
Disney and ABC are also scrapping the Disney I guess
it was the debut of Snow White, the remake. To
avoid all the bad publicity surrounding Rachel Zegler, they've canceled
(04:10):
the premiere. They've decided not to the Movie's still gonna
come out, the live action version of Snow White with
Rachel Zegler, but because of all the negative controversy, the
expensive reshoots, and she really became a national punchline. The
movie will finally arrive in theaters this month, but in
the UK it sounds like Disney is looking to quietly
sneak it over the finish line. They're not going to
(04:32):
have a big premiere there, which is very unusual for Disney.
Disney already anticipating an anti woke backlash, according to The
Daily Mail, that is why they have taken the highly
unusual step not to host a London premiere. They don't
want people to show up and heckle and ridicule the stars.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Now.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Zegler, of course, has been the movie's primary public relations problem.
While promoting her remake, she decided to just crap all
over the nineteen thirty seven original, saying, the original version
of this movie was creepy and but I think it
was an objective masterpiece, you know, as a little kid.
I think most people would agree the version of snow
White that came out in nineteen thirty seven was cutting edge. Yeah,
(05:11):
people still enjoy the movie today. Not good enough for
Rachel Zegler, apparently, So snow White's not going to be
saved by a prince. She said She's not going to
be dreaming about true love. Instead, they're going to make
snow White woke. Well, I guess Disney didn't agree with that.
Rachel Zegler also said that in the original movie, snow
White's love interest, the prince, literally stalks her and he's
(05:31):
creepy and weird. She said that over and over again.
Now every time she opened her mouth she came off
as spoiled and smug and entitled, because you know she was.
And these are just PR disasters after PR disasters for Disney,
more of it arrived and well, later on, as it
turns out, one of the most beautiful women in Hollywood,
gal Gadot, would be playing the evil queen, So we
(05:53):
as viewers have to pretend that gal Gado is not
as pretty as Rachel Zegler, which is ridiculous. But there
was that whole theat with the seven dwarves. You guys
remember that when this news first broke that this movie
was going to be released, we were told there would
be no dwarves because that would be offensive. In fact,
I think it was another famous little person in Hollywood
(06:14):
who said they shouldn't have dwarves in the movie because
it's a belittling to midgets or whatever word we choose
to use now, so they changed all that snow white.
Turns out she will be it. There will be dwarves now.
Photos leaked of these magical beings looking more like bisexual baristas,
and now they've walked that back and they're gonna have
CGI dwarves instead of They're gonna have to just edit
(06:36):
them into the live action remake. So the budget on
this sucker is about four hundred million dollars, and I
don't I think it's very unlikely that they're gonna make
much money off this movie. This comes on the heels
of Captain America being a disaster for them that died
in theaters, the Brave New World thing nobody saw that.
It really feels like this is a tough time for Disney.
(06:57):
But apparently Disney has a a Christian film that they're
about to drop, the first explicitly Christian prayer in a
Disney movie since nineteen ninety six. I think what this
tells us is and what is this this? Disney's Pixar's
latest animated series is called Win or Lose, and they
claim it's igniting a cultural firestorm because it actually features
(07:20):
people praying to God in it. Actual Christians in a
Disney movie. I don't know how old you guys are,
but that you know, when I was a little kid,
that kind of thing wasn't uncommon. Now Disney's going to
return to their roots, apparently, and try to make wholesome
movies where they're not woke. There's no critical race theory,
there's no bisexual baristas. It's almost like they're starting to
(07:40):
get the idea that we don't want them to brainwash
our kids. Odd huh.
Speaker 4 (07:44):
Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness where we certainly realize we're
a heart attack away from President Kamala.
Speaker 2 (07:57):
What a week we've had? Much better in the Democrats week.
The Democrats had a bad week. You know, most people
don't agree with them on this vote that they did,
men and Women's sports, Al Green getting kicked out of
the Joint Session speech, a lot of cringey videos that
the Democrats uploaded to social media this week. They spend
too much time listening to contractors and consultants and not
(08:20):
enough time listening to their own constituents. But you know,
I made a mistake this week. In fact, probably the
right person to share this mistake with my good buddy
Michael Quinnsullivan of Texas scorecard dot Com. Michael, how are
you this afternoon.
Speaker 5 (08:34):
I'm doing great today, although dude, you remind you I'm
not Catholic, but I am happy to take your confession.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
Thank you very much. I love that, Michael. I made
a horrible mistake because you're my friend. Your office is
how far from Austin are you? Guys? Like thirty minutes
or twenty you're near.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
There, right?
Speaker 5 (08:50):
Yeah? Yeah, we're about twenty five miles north and west
of crazy Town.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
Okay, So I always wanted to go to Joe Rogan's
comedy club, Comedy Mothers. It's one of the hardest nightclubs
comedy clubs in America to get into. You've got to
book the tickets months in advance. All the shows sell
out almost immediately. Months ago, I booked tickets to go
see a comedian this weekend named Steve Brne Saturday Night,
really funny comedian. And about a month or two ago,
(09:17):
my mom expressed to me that she wanted to get
out of the cold up north and come down to Texas.
And I said, you know, Mom, you and I never
been to Austin. Why don't you come to town this weekend.
We'll drive up to Austin. We'll see a comedy show together.
Speaker 5 (09:29):
Good wholesome fun with your mom. Take her to Austin.
Go down sixth Street. You are son of the Year.
Speaker 2 (09:35):
Go ahead. Sorry, Michael, No, you're walking me in the
right direction for the story. Do you know what is
starting this weekend in Austin?
Speaker 5 (09:45):
I'm afraid I don't.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
I just I just realized, like twenty thirty minutes ago,
right before calling you up and doing this radio show.
This is the first weekend of south By Southwest twenty
twenty five.
Speaker 5 (10:00):
Mother's in for a treat to be great.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I'm taking my seventy five year old mother this weekend
to south By south What what am I thinking? This
is a terrible idea.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
The things she will see, Oh, the things she will see.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Okay, well, can we talk about Austin for just a minute.
You guys, there's a as a lot of people know,
there's a legislative session happening up there right now. You
guys have been all over this. Now. I am no
fan of Dustin Burrows, but I just like you, Michael,
I call balls and strikes. Everybody knows something weird happened
with two summers ago. The Ken Paxton impeachment never made
a lick of sense. And while I don't like Dustin Burrows,
(10:39):
he is turning over the Paxton impeachment records to Lieutenant
Governor Dan Patrick to do an investigation of. For those
of our listeners that don't know, something very suspicious and
shady happened with the old Republicans trying to stop the
the New Right from taking over the Republican Party in
the state of Texas. And does this make Dustin Burrows
look good or what's your take on it?
Speaker 5 (11:01):
Well, you got to remember Dustin Burrows was the chief
lieutenant of Dade Feelin, the previous speaker. So but with
that said, uh, at least Dustin Burrows is doing the
right thing. I think that for whatever his motivations might be,
he is now doing the right thing turning over those records.
For those who who might not remember, Dade Feeling would
(11:24):
not turn over the records of Impeachmunt not Trember. How
much they spent where they spent it. We know they
spent somewhere north of four and a half million dollars.
Dan Patrick wanted an accounting of everything spent. We don't
do impeachments very often in Texas, and he thought it
would be important for for for future lawmakers, future UH,
(11:45):
state government's, future citizens UH to know what you know, what,
what what should these things cost? What goes into them?
So there's a record. Who wanted a real audit to
track this money and Dave Feeland refused to participate. So
here's Justin Burrows turning over the record. Good for mister Burrows.
I think it's the right whatever his motivation is, that's
the right thing to do.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah, okay, So if you had to make any predictions,
what do you think we're going to find out here?
It's hard to imagine that behind the scenes, George P.
Bush and the old right the neo cons weren't collaborating
with Dad. But would we even figure that out from
the records? What do you think we'd find out from this?
Speaker 5 (12:21):
Well, you're well, you're definitely going to find out is
just how much money was spent with these outside council
which is which is an irony because the the impeachment
centered around not not what was said during the peachment center,
but was really shaped allegedly the the lawmakers was that
Ken Paxton was using a lot of outside council UH
(12:45):
to prosecute some of these big, high profile cases. Now
he was winning those cases, bringing in millions even billions
of dollars into the state as a result of that,
and so these outside council were being paid, you know,
kind of the way what we do on a PC.
And they were upset by that, and so they impeached him.
But here they here now was the Texas House, though,
(13:06):
I think we're going to find spending millions of dollars
on some of these outside Democrat trial lawyers like Dick
Gigeron and some of these others there in Houston who
served as the prosecutors for the House during the impeachment.
So I think what we're going to find is that
(13:27):
needed the Texas House using taxpayer dollars to write big
paychecks to connected Democrat lawyer players. I think that's kind
of what they're probably.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
Trying to hide. Okay, So I always trying to manage
expectations for myself and for the people that take the
time to listen to this radio show each day. Let's
say we find the worst possible thing out. Let's say
let's say we do find a connection between Dad Failin
and the people and the Bush dynasty. Let's say we
do you know, as if that's even possible, and as
you just explained, it might not be. But let's say
we find an exorbitant amount of money, way more money
(13:59):
wasted than we ever thought. What harm does this do
to the people responsible?
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Uh?
Speaker 5 (14:07):
I mean, certainly there's a reputational harm. Which you're in politics,
that's the biggest thing. All you really have is your name,
your reputation, and they'll guard it very fiercely. So there's
gonna be a reputational harm.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
You know.
Speaker 5 (14:20):
There, you know, there is the there's the outside possibility
for some of those people. There there might be some
clawing back of money that could happen and things like that.
But I think the uh, I think pulling back the
curtain and shining the bright light into the darkened space
is is what they fear most. They fear Kinney Webster
(14:41):
and the listeners of Pursuit of Happiness Radio. They fear
the people of Texas seeing their their their their relationships,
seeing the way that they operate in these tightly veiled places.
And that's why I think that that they are very
worried That's why Dade Feeling was trying to keep those
(15:02):
records secret. He didn't want us to see because you
are going to find communications between the House leadership and
Texans for Lawsuit Reform. Yeah, that will make TLR look bad.
You'll see relate you know, emails and communications with Carl
Rove that will make that will make people uncomfortable because
(15:22):
they were all new scheming about how to take out
the most popular and most effective attorney general in the nation.
So that's new that that's going to make some people
very in covenant again, do real reputational harm.
Speaker 2 (15:34):
Yeah, And for those that don't know, and I'm sure
a lot of our listeners do. But for those that don't,
that Texans for Lawsuit Reform that's what he's talking about.
You know, that's weekday. Dick excuse me, Dick Weekly, I'm sorry.
Before we run out of time here, I'd love to
ask you about this. This odd thing happened at Texas
A and M. Can we get to Texas A and
M fight music? Please?
Speaker 6 (15:57):
No?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
That can't be That cannot be right? No is this
Texas Aggie Democrats hosted a day of drag protest and
you guys posted some photos. These are photos from Halloween, right,
These aren't actual pictures from the day of drag. It's
it looks like John Candy grew a beard and put
a woman's ball gown on. That can't be a real photo.
Speaker 5 (16:19):
Michael, oh goodness, it is poor will be a genie
from our team. He took he literally took one for
the team going going to Aggie Land yesterday to cover
this protest. And there were less than one hundred students there,
some many of them wearing drag hosted by the by
the Aggie Democrats, very upset because the Texas A and
(16:39):
M System Board of Regents last week announced no more
drag shows on campus. It's inappropriate. You're making fun of women,
your very sexualized. There's all these political agendas. We're not
going to allow it anymore. And of course the LGBTQ
plus I A two S y whatever they call themselves
(17:00):
as crazy as have the Democrats, and they're gonna have
a massive day of protest. And less than one hundred
people showed up to protest. This a reminder that this
you know, crazy deviant lifestyle that you know, we see
you slammed in our faces every turn around, every time
we turn around is not only a minority view. It
(17:21):
is something that is held by just a few people
who want to have very bad intentions for our culture. Yeah,
and so this protest kind of helps helps you remember
that these people are a little crazy. When you see
a and again these are quote unquote students, But you
see the guy in his forties at the beard and
the pop belly wearing a woman's dress, You're thinking, that
guy ain't no, that guy ain't no student.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Now we never hear whatever he might be. No, he
looks old. Yeah, you're right and mentally unstable. And all
we're asking for. Look, I'm all for defending the First
Amendment and the right to self expression and that sort
of thing. But all we're asking for is a little
consistency here. I mean, these are the same people that
wanted to change University of Texas Austin's fight song because
they claim over a century ago it was performed at
(18:06):
minstrel shows. But you know, if it's wrong to pretend
to be a black person and do a comedy show,
why would it be okay to pretend to be a
white woman and you know, a woman in general and
do a comedy show. It does kind of seem like
it's the same thing. But I digress. Let's move on
to this. Here's an odd news story. Fort Cavazos has
ordered an investigation into an incident at Killeen ISD. We
(18:28):
have a lot of listeners in the Temple Klleen area,
a lot of listeners that work at that military base.
Very unusual for is this am I to understand this correctly?
Military federal investigators are now investigating something that happened at
a school district in the area. What the heck is
going on here?
Speaker 5 (18:46):
Yeah, this is really significant. Kaleen ID operates an elementary
school on post. They're at Fort Kavisos, and then it's
to serve the military dependence of the kids whose parents
are in the army and are posted there at court
at Fort Cavisa's it has been alleged that a teacher
there was behaving inappropriately towards female elementary school students, including
(19:12):
kissing a four year old girl on the lips and
other things, and so the parents want an investigation. Clean
ID did an investigation and predicted predictably, they found nothing.
Nothing was a miss. The parents were upset, and so
the commanding General at Fort Cavisos is called in the
UH the Army Criminal Investigative Division to take a look
(19:34):
at the circumstance and see what's actually happening at the
school with his teacher and to these kids. You know,
but very rarely our Texas school districts held accountable for actions.
They get to define the terms of who has and
hasn't done something wrong, and generally they're not questioned. And
so you know, it is to the great credit of
(19:55):
the commanding General at Fort Cavisos that he is going
to do what klean I SD is not and give
the parents some comfort and peace with a real investigation
conducted by dispassionate outside investigators rather than the rather than
the cronies there in the school district. So this is
this is significant, and hopefully this will serve as a
(20:16):
little bit of a warning to other school districts that
maybe the tide is turning and we're going to start
everyone's going to start looking more closely.
Speaker 2 (20:25):
Wow, this is a story we got to continue to follow.
I got to hope you guys will keep up with it.
For us, we will be we will be very significant.
Michael Ash Wednesday, as you pointed out, you're not Catholic
but of course you are. You are very in tune
to your Christian faith and this is a holy season.
How are things going for you and your family and
the people at your church right now?
Speaker 5 (20:45):
Things are going fantastic. You had a wonderful ash Wednesday
service and just kind of looking forward to this is
the so weird we're supposed to approach ash Wednesday. You're
supposed to season volint everyone, They're supposed to be dower. No, no, no,
this is time celebrate. It is one we get to
look at at who we are, which is not great,
but then we get to look at what God did
(21:05):
for us through Christ, which is really exciting. And so
this is a time where every day is Christmas, every
day is Easter. Sunday as the way we as Christians
should be approaching the world with a smile and good
cheer and then the pursuit of happiness.
Speaker 2 (21:19):
Boy, you said it perfectly. My brother Michael Quinn Sullivan
Texas scorecard dot Com. If I was a listener of
this show, I would check out that website today, subscribe
to their email list. I know many of you already do,
but it's free. It's better than the Houston Chronicle. I
mean if you want to have news sent to you
every day, that's what it is. And while you're at it,
follow my buddy Michael on social media. It might be
the smartest thing you do today. I've said this before,
(21:40):
I'll say it many times again. He is one of
the most dangerous men in Texas political news. He has
destroyed the careers of rhinos. Find out why at Texas
scorecard dot com.
Speaker 4 (21:50):
What is Pursuit of Happiness Radio basically political memes.
Speaker 2 (21:55):
In audio format. Happy the Frog, Eat your heart out?
So nineties? Rest days on your ass on your hands.
See as a kid, I always thought he said ass,
but it's not. I wouldn't make any sense. Why would
you have cigarette stains on your ass? Actually I guess
it's possible. Hi, everybody, welcome back for break. A quick reminder,
(22:18):
I will be at Rodeo Houston this evening at six pm.
Me and Grizzy from Grizzy Hood News are going to
be judging the canine cop contest the police dogs, which
one is the fastest, which one hits the hardest. People
are gonna dress up in They kind of dress up
like the Mitchell entire the State Puff marshmallow Man and
(22:39):
you know they're wearing all this padding and then the
police dogs chase them down and tackle them. And I'm
going to judge that and give commentary. So I'd love
it if you guys could be there. It's gonna be
a lot of fun. I hope you guys will come
hang for that. I do want to talk about Mexico though,
the tariffs, and it's controversial right now. Liberals are mad
about this. The tariffs on Mexico have been delayed for
a month, so this time you need to stock up
(23:02):
on avocados, but be warned they will all turn brown
within an hour of you buying them. That's what avocados do.
Sounds like some Texas justice to me. Lock and now
live from the border, it's Bright Bart's Brandon Darby with
the Cartel Chronicles only on KPRC radio. She is the
Darby who would be Brandon. Brandon just got back from
(23:24):
a five day trip to the border. And Brandon used
to do this a lot, and then you know he
kind of had like a desk job for a while,
and now they're sending him back to places a lot.
There's actually war happening at our board. The cartels are
Brandon is this true. The cartels are shooting back at ice,
they're engaged in actual I mean, it's some of the
(23:44):
footage and the things I'm hearing from the border right
now are crazier than what's being reported, is it true?
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Well, first off, I object to this nurtion that I
had a desk job for a little while. Not at all.
I just have more employees who I can send to
go a border tours instead of having to go myself.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
That's exactly what a guy with the desk job would say, Brandon.
Speaker 3 (24:10):
Yeah, yeah. But the thing is is that it was
very interesting.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
I went to.
Speaker 3 (24:16):
You know, there's as some folks may know, there's nine
sectors on the southwest border. I went to the Del
Rio sector, the Big ben sector, they'll Passo sector in
the Tucson sector on my trip and met with sources,
talk to people about what they were experiencing, looked at
things for myself, and and things mostly looks the same,
(24:41):
except they're a lot quieter these days.
Speaker 2 (24:47):
Really okay, because something I have a buddy that it
runs a tequila business, and he tells me right now
it's not safe to ship the tequila up from Mexico
over the border because there's so much gun violence at
the borders since Trump took over. Is he wrong about that?
Why would he? Why would he tell me that?
Speaker 3 (25:04):
Because because he's talking about the Mexico side of the
US Mexico border, and right now I'm talking about the
US side of the US Mexico border.
Speaker 2 (25:13):
Okay, So I say it was tranquil in.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
The on the Mexico side by any means, but by
no means is a tranquil give me up. That's the
US side. There's a lot more peaceful right now.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
Give me give me an idea of what's happening on
the Mexico side right now.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
Well, again, it depends on what we're talking about. So, uh,
you know, in matt Tamash, not a lot. I mean
there's a lot happening, but not a lot of violence.
You go a little west of that to Reinosa, which
is below kind of McCallan area, and there's groups who
are fighting it out. And you're going then further west
of that to La Prieta, which is you know below
(25:52):
below like Roma, Texas, and that is a very highly
contested area with folks fighting it out.
Speaker 4 (26:00):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (26:01):
You go west of that, it's Loseetus it's a very
violent area, but groups tend to not go through their
territory because they're so violent. You go a little west
of that in the area between I'm fin don't with
this much granular detail, but the area between Laredo and
you know, uh and del Reno Eagle Pass, and it's
a little bit contested, but it's largely the state police
(26:24):
who are running the drugs through there. But it's peaceful
as far as people aren't hear in gutshots every day.
You go west of that, I mean, which I keep
going down the line as far as what's happening, but
some areas are hot spots and are contested and there's
turf wars going on with the golf cartel, I mean,
as reported recently reported recently, they've been using land mines.
(26:46):
You know, there was a Texas rancher who was in
Mexico and got blown up by one of the IED's
one of the improvised land mines. You know. You go
a little further south of our border into the west
of Mexico and are using drones. They're having a drone war,
much less scale than Russia and Ukraine, but similar to that,
they're they're killing each other with drones. So, I mean,
(27:09):
there's some crazy stuff happening. Depends on the route that
your friend has taken to Kila through, but there are
a lot of routes that you most certainly, you know,
it used to be that if you went to tom
A Lepus, which is south of Texas, you know, with Rendosa,
and met the mortals, it used to be that. You know,
we obviously don't do it, but a lot of news
(27:30):
organizations pay a fixer. They call it paying a guide,
but it's somebody who goes to the cartel and says, hey,
these guys you know, National Geographic or NPR wants to
come here and report. And they'll say okay, So the
guy will charge them five or six hundred bucks, maybe
twelve hundred bucks, depending and then the cartel says, okay,
you can be here for three days. Don't go here
(27:51):
or here, don't say this, don't say that. Well, these
news organizations don't report that. But now you can't really
do that in most of tom Alypos because if you
try that, there would be ten or fifteen different groups
you have to pay, because it's that fractional. Now it's
that factionalize and these groups. The golf cartel has devolved
into so many disparate groups who are fighting each other
(28:14):
and allies with other cartels, and so it's it's it's
really you know, it would be very difficult to get
products through that territory and know, you know, know who
to who to who to pay off to get your
products there, because that's really what it is, right Like
even the Mekili Dore is, the big factories, they all
(28:35):
have these security consultants they pay, right, and these security
consultants oftentimes pay the cartel and then the cartel. It's
an extortion racket, and the cartel leaves the people alone,
or leaves the factory alone, and leaves the factory supplies alone,
as long as they're paying that security consultant. Right. Yeah,
(28:56):
what's going on has big implications now that some of
these cartels are labeled as identified as foreign terror organizations
terrorist organizations, because now people who are you know, secretly
paying cartels off for protection are funding a terrorist organization.
Speaker 2 (29:13):
Right yeah, you know it's you explained that quite well
and in detail, So I'm grateful for that. You reminded
me of a story I wanted to tell you. I'll
make it real short, we exposed this like con artist
politician who has nine aliases and has been accused of
committing bigamy, flying around the world, accused of marrying different
(29:34):
men and taking their money, and we exposed her. Recently,
she was trying to run for Congress here in Texas
under what we what appeared to be a fake name
with a fake photo on the Internet. And when I
started criticizing her on social media, I thought of you
because she said one of the dumbest things. She said,
you know, this guy's only doing this and I'm paraphrasing here,
but she said, this guy works for the cartels. He's
(29:55):
funded by the cartels to take me down. And I
immediately thought of you, Brandon like the cartel, which cartel like?
That was my first response to thought, was I wonder
what Brandon Darby would say if you read the same
thing I read.
Speaker 3 (30:09):
I would say that, I mean, first off, that's someone
in the US doing that. But it's a common thing
that when we write about one group in the golf cartel,
the journalists who are friendly with the other, you know,
cartel group, oftentimes attack us on social media say that
we're protecting the other cartel. We're in bed with this
(30:32):
faction of the golf. I mean, the misinformation on social
media from cartels is wild. You know, it kind of
mirrors what some US politicians do. So what I would
personally do is if a politician openly accused me of that, is,
I would see the hell out of them for saying
that I'm funded by terrorists organizations, which would be a
(30:53):
fellow mean, right, which could be a big deal. So
I would see the hell out of them for something
like that. But that would be my take. Is lawyer
up buck, oh, you know what I mean, Get a
good lawyer, so you have. I would probably.
Speaker 2 (31:08):
People have accused you of working for cartels before, but
you're a guy that takes down cartel groups.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
Yeah, but other cartels. So if I'm particularly hard on,
not hard on me, if I'm particularly hard on a
certain faction of a cartel, then the faction I am
hard on.
Speaker 2 (31:33):
Right, right, yes, right.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
The faction I'm hard on typically will say that I'm
doing it at the request of the other cartel, the
other faction, and which isn't true. And sometimes it's because
I think this particular faction are particular jerks who do
evil things. Sometimes it's because, you know, some mothers in
the community contacted me because their daughters were assaulted by
(31:57):
these guys and nothing could happen to them. Sometimes it's
just because that's where I happen to have a source.
I mean, you know a lot of these photos and
stuff with you have to understand it's people in cartels
who are like, hey, you know my boss is a
jerk and I should be the boss, So let me
give you all the dart on him and the proof
so you can write about him. And of course, if
I get it and I can validate that it's true,
(32:18):
I report it, you know. So then that guy feels
like I'm helping his rivals, which maybe unintentionally I am,
but it's not my intention to. But I get accused
of that all the time.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Wow, Brandon, I don't know how you do it. It pisses
me off and it only happened to me once. But hey,
you know what I would do if I was a
radio listener here, I would go to Twitter or x
or whatever you choose to call it now. I would
follow Brandon Darby and I would keep up with his
work at Breitbart dot com, The Cartel Chronicles, Breitbart taxes.
Always awesome having you on, Brandon.
Speaker 4 (32:51):
The only thing that hurts more than paying taxes not
paying taxes, Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness.
Speaker 2 (32:57):
Yeah, yeah, pay your taxes. It's much worse than not. Definitely, don't.
Don't skip out on that. That's important, or you go
to jail. They're continuing our an ongoing series of segments
on this radio show where we discuss bills, policies, and
agendas in Austin, Texas that we actually agree with. We've
(33:19):
invited state Representative Briscoe Caine on the show this afternoon.
Brisco is in Austin right now, and I'm about to
leave to go to Austin. I don't know if you
just turned your radio on, folks, but I made the
mistake of booking tickets to go see a comedy show
this weekend in Austin. Brisco I must have lost my mind.
I did not realize when I booked this comedy show
(33:42):
three four months ago I got these tickets. I didn't
realize south By Southwest was starting in Austin this weekend.
You're at the state Capitol right now. When you walk outside,
are they're just naked hippies? Everywhere. What's going on there?
Speaker 6 (33:56):
Yeah, I'm outside right now. I wish we were doing
live They're is. It's pretty awesome.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
It's just a sea of naked people all over the place.
Speaker 5 (34:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
Yeah, lots of Bush, a lot of.
Speaker 2 (34:08):
The Bush dynasty, George P. Bush. That's what he's referring to, obviously. Okay,
all right, So all that being said, you're doing something
I think our listeners would really like, and that is
the the Doge Committee. We now have a Texas Doge Committee,
very similar to what Elon Musk is doing in our
federal government. But this isn't state government, and it is
(34:28):
about getting rid of waste. And I guess my first
question for you would be, are there is there anyone
that's giving you resistance to this? People like Dustin Burroughs
or you know, people you wouldn't have expected. Are people
genuinely support of what the thought of going through all
the government spending and looking for weird little things that
got overlooked. That really upsets people when you do stuff
(34:49):
like that. It certainly does.
Speaker 6 (34:52):
Now, Look, this isn't on the scale that the you know,
Uncle Elon's got going on DC. And again, our governor
doesn't have the same power as the president does. Right,
he doesn't have that pen that Trump's got, so we're dual.
We can't hear in tech with one of those things.
Believe or not. Speaker Burroughs isn't a problem here, but
(35:14):
he agrees with these things. But many of the people
that may be brought into the dance just agree with it,
or many of my Democrat colleagues don't like it. In fact,
there are Democrats of course on the Dose Committee and
the things that as the conservatives that I'm seeing first,
Democrats that just have a different.
Speaker 5 (35:29):
Filter in a way they view the world.
Speaker 6 (35:32):
Are not the biggest fans. And I say things like
we should just repeal that. They'd rather reform it. But
midday I think there's a path to cut billions out
of a budget. We just have to be willing to
do it.
Speaker 2 (35:42):
Yeah. Okay, so so far, what's the weirdest thing you
guys have found or is it just beginning?
Speaker 6 (35:49):
Well, there are constantly weird things, and it's just the
beginning that there's plenty of that. I'll give an example
be days ago. We have the executive director of TRST,
that's the Teacher Retirement System of Taxes a massive, massive organization.
And so I'm asking him questions because they're telling us
that they've got double the employees now now, and so
(36:09):
they needed to spend this three hundred something million dollars
on a on a building. Well, I got them to
admit that half the people are still working remotely and
they have no plans for returning them. But he's telling
us the taxpayers need to do these things. Oh. Even
worse is they plan to lease the bottom floor, as
(36:29):
if the government should be in the business of leasing
commercial space. I think about it for a moment. They
have no incentive not to fail, not to suck if
no one leases it. They don't care, right, it's the government,
so other people's money they have no problem. So things
like this, they're just across the board. We've got agencies.
They send their legislative appropriation request, meaning we need money
for this. They're asked for money for things that don't
(36:51):
exist anymore. So, yes, there's a problem is everywhere. Whether
the legislation is can have time to deal with it
is the Next issue, though, is because we only have
a hund in forty days and then we're gone for
two years.
Speaker 2 (37:03):
For two years, you don't think that Governor Abbitt calls
special sessions. I feel like he's the king of calling
special sessions. Is that sually something that's likely to happen?
I hope so. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (37:17):
For my own personal life, my business, no, it's not good,
but I volunteered for this to come up here. I'm
grateful with zax Spary's for six seven hundred dollars a month.
But I will return because that's what we sent it for,
to continue to cut governments. Hopefully the people and the
governor will demand it. Otherwise not much is gonna be done.
Speaker 2 (37:35):
All right, let's talk about measles for just a minute.
I am so old. I can remember when the measles
didn't get the kind of reaction that it gets from
the media that it gets today. In fact, you posted
this clip online from the nineteen sixties. It was this
old TV show, something called The Brady Bunch. Brady Bunch, Sorry,
I never never even heard of this. It's so old,
(37:55):
and they once did an episode about the measles. And
this is how different we felt about I mean, for
those that have been keeping up with the news this week,
our FK Junior is being blamed for the death of
somebody in Texas that got the measles. And a lot
of these people that are getting the measles are Mennonites.
I don't think they've ever even heard of our FK junior,
much less taken vaccine advice from them. But anyway, here
(38:16):
is a clip from a TV show from the twentieth century,
just to give you an idea of how much things
have changed. Are you doing all from school? He sent
me home measles.
Speaker 6 (38:26):
They see their measles are a strange case or red freckles.
Speaker 2 (38:29):
You haven't got a temperature, they told me one hundred
and one point one. What's the record? Never mind? Oh
are you sure it's the measles?
Speaker 3 (38:37):
Well, he certainly got all the symptoms, A slight temperature,
a lot of dots, and a great big.
Speaker 2 (38:41):
Smile, A great big smile.
Speaker 6 (38:43):
No school for a few days.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
BALLO to my dotted son for me. Tell them I'll
bring him some comic books and.
Speaker 4 (38:47):
I'll see you later.
Speaker 2 (38:48):
Yeah, okay, honey, bye boy. This is a life, isn't it.
Speaker 6 (38:54):
Yeah, if you have to get sick, she can't beat
the measles.
Speaker 2 (38:57):
That's right, No medicine insider shouts, yeah, I'm sorry, pausing
that there and then it goes into a clip for
a different thing to tell you about how we feel
about the measles today. It's very alarming. But I just
looked it up here as we were watching that clip, Brisco.
One in a thousand people that get the measles dye. Now,
(39:20):
I mean one's too many, obviously, but it's that's not
a lot. I got to think one in a thousand people.
I mean that mortality rate almost seems like the mortality
rate of people that will drive in a car today.
Am I wrong?
Speaker 6 (39:33):
You know, Look, you're using logic and reason to try
and understand the agenda here. But someone's gas lighting us, right.
It's either the Brady bunch planned a gas light us
long before today. Why they planted this fifty years ago?
And like one day these people are gonna need to
remember that this is really a trick. We want to
kill the population, right, Like, who's gas lighting us? That
is feeling it's the ones today. Of course you're you're
(39:56):
the logic, but it's not about that. It's about control.
Speaker 2 (39:58):
Yeah, it's about.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
Control, selling pharmaceuticals, making you comply. I can't see any
other reason.
Speaker 2 (40:06):
Okay, so you're not like a hardcore anti vaxxer, but
you've also been very critical of the vaccine mandates. And
I just wonder as a statesman, as a lawmaker in
the state of Texas, and you know, if you had
to predict, and I know, it's hard to guess, how
much longer are people outraged about this measle thing? Like
five more minutes? How long? How long does the media
keep up with this? It doesn't seem measles isn't like
(40:28):
it's not like COVID where you don't know you have
it for a few days until it suddenly springs up
like people generally know they have the measles, right, I.
Speaker 6 (40:37):
Think they'll keep up for a while. I mean, look
the Democrat which are the same party as the media.
They're still claiming the whole like save democracy thing, right,
they claim that save democracy but against Trump. Okany lost,
and now they're still trying to run the same narrative,
So they'll keep up a losing narrative for a long time.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
I don't doubt that. Yeah, I think you're probably right
about that. You're a dad. You've got a few boys,
is quite a few of several if I'm not mistaken,
And I got to think this week as we all
saw cancer survivor DJ Daniel with his father at the
Joint Session address from President Donald Trump, that thirteen year
old brain cancer survivor becoming a member of the Secret Service.
(41:16):
Pretty awesome. Now we've got law enforcement departments all over
the state of Texas trying to reach out to this
kid so they can make him an honorary member of
their police department. This is a very very cool thing.
What did you think of this when you saw it?
And have your boys seen had a chance to see this?
Speaker 6 (41:35):
Yes, and of course we'll you know, maybe little envious.
I think it's cool, right, I would standby, but yeah,
and there's more people you know out there there one
to see him. This is this is a time to
celebrate being from Houston, and we should all be proud
of it and boost it and hope to inspire more people.
Speaker 2 (41:52):
This is such a good time for Democrats and Republicans
to cross the aisle and celebrate this. And you know,
Democrats at the Joint Session Address in Washington, DC here
either they didn't cheer at all or they frowned. A
few of them booed. Imagine booing a thirteen year old
with cancer, like dear God. But some of your cohorts
from across the aisle, A Jen Wou, for example, has
(42:13):
expressed an interest in trying to sow the diva, trying to,
you know, get rid of the divide with people on
our side, to make friends with us and that sort
of thing. And you know he's from Houston, and you
hear anything from your fellow Houston Democrats in Austin right
now about this. I suppose that'd be too much to ask,
wouldn't it.
Speaker 6 (42:34):
That would be way too much to ask. It's gonna
sit whatever a little narrative. Are you joking with me
right now about Jean Louis?
Speaker 2 (42:38):
This is a joke. I mean, I don't you know.
You and I both see the same thing he says
on social media. People will say like, oh, we got
to destroy the Republicans, and I've seen lately him saying
things like no, no, no, we mean we need to
make peace with them. But I guess it's not actually
like that in Austin, is it. Uh? No, it's a trick.
Speaker 6 (42:57):
This guy caught the tiger by the tail. Look, he's
the the chairman of the Texas House Democrats and they
kind of realized that the republics little ticked off. So
I think some people are trying to tell Jean to
pretend to be something else, my brother, that the gig
doesn't get up.
Speaker 2 (43:13):
Unbelievable. How are you guys doing it is? Now we've
reached Lent. I know you and your family are religious,
and you give up anything for lent.
Speaker 6 (43:23):
No, no, no, I'm no as evangelical. That's not a
thing for us. Just give up liberal all of you
giving up stuff for lent.
Speaker 2 (43:31):
Give up give up fentanyl and liberalism. That's the It
doesn't have to be. It doesn't have to be.
Speaker 6 (43:37):
I thought we would stop. Yeah, you know what, that's good.
I will commit to not doing central all.
Speaker 2 (43:42):
Right, stay wrapped Brisko Okaine. We long relationship with this
guy on this radio show. He's been here many times
in the past. And I will tell you, Brisco, I
think right now dealing with Dustin Burrows, you and Steve
are on the right side of that fight. So you
you have my support. To the rest of you, I say,
have an awesome weekend. I am going to be at
south By Southwest this weekend with a seventy five year
(44:03):
old woman. What am I thinking? I must be crazy.
If you see me out there and you want to
buy us a beer, well don't. I gave it up
for lent. But I love you all. Please drive safe,
get back here bright and early Monday morning for more
of what you bought a radio for. You are, Oh
(44:24):
and before I forget, at six pm, I will be
at the Rodeo today, Rodeo Houston. See me there for
the police Canine Dog Circus. It's gonna be a lot
of fun.
