Giganic government sucks pursuit of habit asRadio is de ux Liberty and freedom will
make you smile. A suit ofhabin us on your radio toel justice,
cheeseburgers, a liberty prize at Didyou see this? Rudy Giuliani fell into
(00:28):
empty chairs at the Republican National Convention. Now, to be fair, he
was just doing his best Joe Bidenimpression. Hi, everybody, Kenny Webster
here, big show this afternoon.Holly Hansen from the Texan Dot News is
stopping by. In the next segment, Did you know that Troy Nell's congressman
from Houston recently quit the Freedom Caucus? Do you know why? Hang out
(00:48):
for that? We'll tell you why. And Dan Patrick and Lieutenant the lieutenant
governor of course, our our ourmain governor, that'd be Greg Abbott.
Going after Center Point Energy. Wehave infram you need to hear it.
If you were affected by those poweroutages over the past week, and I
think a lot of you were.In the meantime, Hollywood having an effect
(01:10):
on Joe Biden possibly dropping out ofthe presidential election. Tim mathis stand up
comedian in Hollywood, will be cominginto our radio airwaves in just a short
period of time. To tell youa little bit about that and a lot
more. Before we get to anyof it, I want to start the
show off with the news about ElonMusk. Elon Musk is spending an absurd
amount of money on Donald Trump's reelection. Now, some people have pointed out
(01:37):
that historically Trump and Elon Musk werenot always friends. That's true. Well,
jad Vance and Donald Trump weren't alwaysfriends either. Hell, Joe Biden
and Kamala Harris weren't always friends.Politics is a funny thing, isn't it.
Sometimes It brings people together that youwouldn't have expected. Elon Musk is
spending forty five million dollars a monthfor the next few months right up to
the election to get Trump reelected,And now suddenly liberal Democrats who have been
(02:04):
enjoying big checks from Silicon Valley CEOsfor years are suddenly saying that's not fair.
Somebody ought to do something about that. Of all the people out there
to write big checks to Democrats,I've got to assume Apple CEO Tim Cook
and the other executives at Apple mustnot be writing enough money, right,
They must not be given enough checksto Biden and his buddies because suddenly we
(02:30):
learned the DOJ, the Department,Joe Biden's Department of Justice is going after
Apple for having a monopoly on smartphones. Didn't they invent the smartphone? How
can you have a monopoly on somethingyou invented? Does that make any sense?
You know? When for those ofyou are iPhone users, you'll know
what I'm talking about. When youtext message with someone who has an Android
(02:51):
and the words are green to tellyou that it's an Android and they're not
blue to tell you that you're talkingto somebody with an iPhone, that's part
of it. They're saying, that'spart of it. The monopoly. Well,
that's not a monopoly. A monopolywould be people with iPhones can't call
people with andrew. That would bemonopolizing the market, right, Okay,
monopoly. Obviously it's a little moreto it than that, but that would
(03:13):
be monopolizing the market. Ran Paulrecently pointed out that here in America,
we don't punish businesses for their success. We're not supposed to. We certainly
known punish businesses because their competitors arestruggling to keep pace. But that's exactly
what the Department of Justice is attemptingto do in this new lawsuit against April
against Apple. It started in March. By the way, the DOJ joined
(03:37):
fifteen states and the District of Columbia, all liberal Democrat controlled states, filed
a lawsuit aimed at penalizing Apple forsuccessfully competing in the market for smartphones.
But like much of the Biden administration'sapproach to antitrust enforcement, the DOJ's lawsuit
is focused on punishing Apple for itssuccess rather than addressing any harm to consumers.
(04:01):
Instead of fostering innovation and competition, all this does is threatened to stifle
the very progress that American enterprise isknown for. So the lawsuit makes this
unsubstantiated claim that Apple is willfully monopolizedthe smartphone market through exclusionary and anti competitive
conduct. They're accusing Apple of exercisingunwarranted control over the creation and distribution and
(04:29):
functioning of apps within the iPhone's operatingsystem. And what the complaint ignores is
that this control is not simply alawful business practice by a privately held company,
but it's also an indispensable part ofApple's business model. It's not anti
competitive it's just innovation. Privacy andsecurity and seamless integration have actually been a
(04:56):
big part of Apple's operational strategy foryears. You remember, in twenty ten,
Steve Jobs explained that when selling topeople who want their devices to just
work, we think integrated wins everytime that open systems don't always work,
and Apple was committed to an integratedapproach. You get what that means right,
As an open os androids are madeby a lot of different companies,
(05:19):
but the iPhone OS is only usedby Apple. Now, that's not a
monopoly. That's just a thing theyinvented. In the lawsuit against Apple,
the DOJ is trying to rehash theseunpopular arguments that have already been rejected by
American voters and consumers. Not onlyis this an egregious attempt to bypass the
(05:40):
legislative process, but it threatens topenalize innovation and reduce choice. Ultimately,
it harms the very people it claimsto protect. Digital markets don't need more
government regulation, They need more companieswilling to innovate and compete. The Department
of Justice shouldn't waste taxpayer provided resourcesis targeting a company that's earned its success
(06:01):
through excellence in the marketplace. Apple'spopular for a reason. They make good
products. I gotta think, atthe end of the day, this is
really happening for two reasons. Executivesat Apple aren't writing big enough of checks
here in the twenty twenty four electionseason, and the Democrats at the DOJC
they're writing on the wall. Theyknow Trump's gonna win in November, and
(06:24):
they're trying to throw a hand grenadeinto the economy before that happens. What
do you guys think? Leave mea voicemail message using the iHeartRadio app,
push the talkback button while you're listeningto this show or our morning show.
Leave me a little thirty second recording. I'll play them on the show tomorrow
and we'll see what you guys thinkthey see. Whenever you lose sight of
the enemy, look behind you.Yeah, that's a bad paranoia right there.
(06:45):
Probably brought on by a bong rippertoo. Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness.
Doesn't the fourth of July feel likeit was ten thousand years ago?
Isn't that crazy? It was twoweeks ago, feels like it was nine
hundred years ago at this point, which just happened since then, A hurricane,
right, Joe Biden's broken brain. That was fascinating. I mean,
okay, that's been broken, butthe liberals overreacting to it. We'll get
(07:09):
to more on that in a littlebit. Stand up comedian Tim Mathis is
stopping by. We're going to takea look at how apparently a lot of
Hollywood mega donors are now trying tocut off funding to Democrats if they don't
ditch Joe Biden. But even still, the assassination of Donald Trump, and
of course, excuse me, botchedassassination thank god, and the hurricane have
all dominated headlines since then, especiallyif you're in Southeast Texas, so there's
(07:31):
been so much to distract us.You might have actually missed this. Now.
I got an update coming here injust a moment from local journalist Holly
Hanson on what is the latest withGovernor Abbott and Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick going
after Centerpoint Energy. But before weget to any of that, here's a
news story you definitely missed because Imissed it. I didn't realize this.
(07:53):
Look, he's a friend of theshow. Congressman Troynell's I agree with most
of his votes. If not allof them. I don't the guy have
memorized his voting history, but Iknow that a vast majority of the time
I've agreed with his positions on things. I thought he did a great job
when he was sheriff of Fort BennCounty. So when Trynell's makes a big
career change, usually you want toknow what's going on with him. I
(08:15):
did not realize right around the timeof the hurricane about a week ago.
A little over a week ago,Representative Troynelles quit the House Freedom Caucus.
It's a pretty big news story.I mean, the House Freedom Caucus is,
after all, considered to be Imean, they have an interesting history
with Trump. They started off asbeing anti Trump, then they were the
most pro Trump during the Trump years, and since then a lot's happened with
(08:37):
the group. But now Troynell's nolonger a member of the House Freedom Caucus.
Holly, why did he leave?Yeah? This looks kind of crazy,
And just so you know that thathappened this same day that Hurricane Barrel
hit Houston, So all of asudden, Houston kind of ignored it.
Even though Troynell's is a Houston areacongressman and pretty popular. As you said,
(08:58):
he's prety construed ovat is as wellliked in this area. But yeah,
he left the Freedom Caucus that night, and there's been some contention within
the caucus. It all kind ofstems from this Virginia Republican primary where the
chair of the Freedom Caucus, BobGood, narrowly lost to a challenger by
(09:20):
the name of John McGuire, andJohn McGuire has been endorsed by Trump.
The margin of victory is really close, it was something like three hundred and
seventy four votes, and you know, there's been a talk of an election
contest and so forth. But theCaucus was upset with another members get so
confusing you almost need a flow chartto explain it all. But another member
(09:43):
out of Ohio, Warren Davidson, also endorses John McGuire. Guys, he's
kind of siding with Trump, andthe caucus voted to expel him from the
caucus for doing that. And soTroynelle threw up his hands and said,
you know, I agree with thepolicies with the direction of the caucus as
far as policies go, I don'tagree with this, you know, I
(10:07):
really want the caucus to expand andencourage more people to join, and so
he said with that vote, hejust didn't think they shared the same objective
there, so he resigned. Yes, it's kind of kind of crazy.
It would be normally big news inthe slow election cycle, right, all
right, who is currently still amember? Who's is Jim Jordan still the
(10:28):
leader? I mean, who's incharge of it now? Yeah? No,
well, I mean Bob Good isthe chair, but he just lost
this primary in Virginia, so it'sall kind of up in the air.
And they've been, you know, having some trouble. They voted last year
to remove Marjorie Taylor Green, right, But some of the members that remain
include you know, some Texans,Chip Roy, which I'm sure you've talked
(10:50):
to Chip before, Michael Cloud,Keith's self, or all members they're from
here in the state of Texas. But but yeah, it's in a little
bit of a bumpy ride there overthe past year. So we'll see what
happens with that. But you know, everyone's been focused on the attempted as
(11:11):
fascination of from the President Trump andwhat's going on here in Houston. So
it's kind of been you know, kind of under the table there, but
I'm sure we'll hear more about itas time goes by. It's a surprise
to me who's in it and who'snot. I'll give you an example.
You would think Matt Gates would bea member of the Freedom Caucus. He's
not a member, right. Youwould think Wesley Hunt would be a member
(11:31):
of the Freedom Caucus just based ontheir voting history, and boy, I'm
their votes seem to perfectly align withthe also not a member. Is there
something to be said for Sometimes whenyou're very conservative, maybe the Freedom Caucus
isn't for you. Yeah, youknow, I mean anytime you have a
group like that. And this isjust me taking off my journal's hat and
(11:52):
putting on, you know, myopinion hat. I think you can suffer
from mission drift. It's really hardto hold it together unless there's, you
know, some unchangeable factor. Andyou know, politics is fluid. Policy,
positions change, people change. It'sbeen kind of a somewhat mysterious group.
(12:13):
You know, they don't publish alist of their members or reportedly thirty
eight members prior to troynelle'es. Theydo don't publish a list. Why don't
they publish a list right that. You know, I really could not answer
that question. You know, Ithink they're just trying to keep it sort
of a loose in the background organization. You know, they don't really want
(12:35):
to be very public with with theirdeliberations. They don't share information about their
meetings or anything along those lines, and so you know, it's a little
bit mysterious. It really is black. The Congressional Black Caucus has a website.
I bet most of them do,right, but not the not the
Freedom Caucus. A fascinating all right, I don't want to run out of
(12:58):
time here. Let's talk a littlebit about this. The latest from Centerpoint
Energy. Lieutenant Governor Patrick dan Patrickjust announced a Senate special Committee here in
the state of Texas to investigate CenterpointEnergy's post hurricane failures. How about pre
hurricane failures. Yeah, I thinkit's a combination. You know. What
they want to look at is whetheror not Center Point Energy did what it
(13:22):
was supposed to do prior to thehurricane, prior to hurricane season altogether,
and their response after the storm.I don't think anyone is happy with Centerpoint
Energy at this point. They're stillas of this morning when I checked,
you know, there's still over twentythousand people who don't have electricity in the
city of Houston, and wow yetyeah, nothing special to to be sure.
(13:48):
I'm sorry to interrupt you, customers, not people, right, you're
right, customers. Yes, thankyou for clarifying that it's okay. We
start off with. Yeah, twopoint two million went without power. You
know, it's really a problem. We've had people die he related deaths.
You know, businesses are pointing tothe fact that they have dramatically lost income.
(14:13):
Tony Buzzby, who I know you'vehad on the show, has filed
a class action lawsuit on behalf ofover one hundred restaurant owners who can demonstrate
their economic losses because of the expendedpower outage. Now, the question is,
you know what can really be donewith Centerpoint. They do have a
(14:33):
request before the state regulatory agency thatallows them to pass on cost to customers
the stems from investments they've made overthe past two years a total about six
billion dollars, and that agency couldrefuse to grant them the rights to pass
that on to customers and turn aprofit. I mean, they could face
(14:56):
some pretty serious financial penalties if it'sfound that they were negligent, and so
you know what the Senate Committee canactually do is is not real clear at
this point, but Dan Patrick haswarned, as he said, there is
a freight train coming for Centerpoint, and I think it's going to be pretty
painful for them. They've already seentheir market share drop in Morgan Stanley downgraded
(15:20):
their stock and wow, it didn'tknow about that. It's big. Another
Yeah, while we're on the topichere a Center Point, I think another
often discussed issue involving the linemen onsocial media needs to be clarified for just
a minute. I'm friends with GrizzyGrizzy hood News, you know who that
is. I love her just likeI love Holly. And there's this video
(15:41):
circulating on social media of Alignment talkingabout how he'll never come back to Houston
again because his buddies, his coworkershave been mugged and somebody was given fentanyl
laced water bottles and stuff, andGrizzy says a lot of the claims made
in that video are not real, right, like the I don't know.
(16:02):
Yeah, But that being said, there is video of people violently attacking linemen
while they're parked on the side ofthe freeway, So something clearly is happening.
How much of it's true, Idon't know what is your take on
it. Yeah, my take isthat you know, some of us exaggerated,
right, and that people like toget online and make themselves famous for
a few minutes by doing these videos. So it's hard to stay. But
(16:26):
you know, we did have oneguy arrested. It's been charged with assault
for pointing a gun at Center EnergyCenter Point Energy crew members, probably contractors.
They did have to relocate one ofthose staging sites because there were threats
of a drive by shooting. Imean, there have been some aggressive acts
and some threats levied at these people, and which is really you know,
(16:51):
it's misdirected anger, right of thepeople frustrated with the situation, and you
know why the same token. Youknow, we do have still have lingering
crime issues here in the city ofHouston and the surrounding area. We've had
a surge in property crime since thelandfall of the hurricane. During the power
(17:11):
outage, you had, you know, just this surge in burglaries and I
think it was fifty people arrested inthe first week after the storm just for
trying to break into buildings that didn'thave power, those are the ones they
caught. But yeah, it's aproblem, and you know, we continue
to have that problem with some ofthese people being out on multiple bonds.
(17:34):
So one of the guys that wasarrested in those first forty eight hours was
already I don't know, we hadten selony convictions and had been released on
bonds earlier this year on new chargesbut which includes felon in possession of a
weapon. But he was out andabout and able to take advantage of that
power outage, and so, youknow, just an ongoing problem that we
(17:56):
have in this area. I mean, look, we do live in a
city where TV news crews have beenrobbed while they were out filming a news
you know what I mean. Like, it's that bad in this city.
So it wouldn't shock me if peoplewere robbing the Center Point Energy guys.
I just you know, to whatextent are they're doing it is the question.
(18:18):
I haven't seen actual evidence. Thatdoesn't mean it didn't happen, but
I always, you know, I'mgoing to write a story. I like
to put in what the evidence is. I did see the video gres he's
talking about, and you know,I have some questions. I kind of
questioned about whether or not I shouldshare it because you know, I don't
know who that guy is and youknow whether or not he's real. But
there there are some records indicating thisis happening. Lieutenant Governor Patrick and Houston
(18:45):
Mayor John Whittmeyer have repeatedly urged peopleto stop threatening linemen, stop threatening these
workers because they're they're not the badguys here and they're just trying to get
the job done. You know, the anger really needs to be and not
in a violent way. Right.Obviously, that's whole accountable, right,
you know the folks who maybe mismanagedthe resources here and didn't properly plan for
(19:11):
this hurricane. Yeah, how aboutthat? Holly? As always, I
think you do amazing work, andI remind people if you're mad at CEOs,
big corporations or politicians or whatever itmay be, violence is never the
answer. No, I, likea lot of us, I just think
the next time there is a primaryelection, we need to vote out the
CEO of Centerpoint Energy, right,Holly. Yeah, that's a little more
(19:37):
complicated, but yeah, I'm surea lot of people would like to do
that. Right now, he probablyneeds some security protection at the moment because
people are so very angry about what'shappened, and you know, there are
justifiable questions at the moment, Iwill throw in there is one other factor
in all of that. It turnsout that the Department of Energy last year
(20:03):
denied a one hundred million dollar grantto Center Point Energy that they had requested
to help them prepare for hurricane seasonand improve their harden their grid. As
the phrase goes, I think andwe're not quite sure why that was denied.
Some of the congressmen here in theHouston area had sent a letter now
(20:25):
to to Department of Energy Secretary JenniferGrant Hall to try to find out what
happened there and why they didn't getthat grant. Oh, the same the
center the same woman who had peopleblock in the EV charging stations while she
was on a road trip. Thatthat one. That woman is a terrible
person. Holly. Well, youknow, there's people want to know why
(20:48):
they denied this application because it's youknow, there's a some are saying that
would have helped mitigate this problem. All right, right now, how about
this one. See if you Idon't know what the latest is on this.
It started off with Biden versus danPatrick, right, Lieutenant Governor Dan
Patrick and Joe Biden had a warof words that was claimed that the federal
government didn't offer assistance or did andthat who reached out to who? And
(21:11):
it turns out Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrickwas telling the truth and the federal government
was lying. And then came thefeud between Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and Lena
Hidalgo. Dan Patrick came to heoffered help to Lena Hidalgo. Lena Hidalgo
said that was a lie. Shedidn't turn down assistance despite what Dan Patrick
said. Now she left town rightbefore the hurricane. I got to think
(21:33):
Dan Patrick's a lot of things. He's not a liar, and we know
Lena Hidalgo has a problem telling thetruth. You know, this whole thing
was so complexing. Dan Patrick isa literally at a press conference with Houston
maryor John Whitmeyer and the two ofthem, you know, Whitmyer being a
Democrat, puting their partnership and howthere were no politics plaining to this everybody
(21:55):
was working together to get the cityback up and running. And while he's
at that press conference, the storybroke was of Biden allegedly calling a Houston
Chronicle reporter to tell him that thathe had been able to track down the
lieutenant governor governor. Both of thosemen, Abbott and Patrick uh you know,
(22:17):
refuted it. They had receipts. They showed that there was only one
call ever made. It was madethat morning on Tuesday, the day after
the storm, to seek those disasterdeclarations. And they also said those declarations
were already in place. And then, as you said, you know,
Patrick Ben points out that he alreadysays that he repeatedly texted Lena Hidalgo or
(22:38):
called her and asked if what sheneeded did she need anything, and her
she said no, reportedly, andthen she said we're good. So,
you know, is it is itcampaign season political silliness? I'm not sure,
but it's it's really unfortunate, especiallywhen we do have a good,
(23:00):
very difficult situation, and it seemslike there have been some folks trying to
interject some politics into it. It'smuch better for everyone if all of the
government agencies are working together in thiskind of situation. Holly Hanson the website
is thetechsant News. Follow her onsocial media. Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness
(23:21):
where we certainly realize we're a heartattack away from President Kamala. All right,
people are pretty mad at the headof the Secret Service right now.
They're wondering why she's not stepping down. Why isn't she resigning. A lot
of people have asked this question.Look, a president got shot on your
(23:44):
watch. That is pretty much youronly job right is to protect Okay,
to be fair, the Secret Servicedoes two things. Did you know that
about seventy to seventy five percent oftheir resources at the Secret Service are spent
stopping people from creating counterfeit money. Most people don't know that. But the
rest of what they do is protectingthe president and his family and other presidents
(24:07):
and their families. Well, anyway, Kim Cheatle, she's the head of
the Secret Service. She's now putout this statement. Hi there, I'm
the director of the Secret Service, and I'm also a woman, and that
that's a big deal. Now,can I define what a woman is?
I can't. But that's not whatI'm here to talk to you about today.
(24:29):
I'm here to talk to you todayabout sloped rooftops. Most civilians go
about their day completely unaware of slopedrooftops, but not the Secret Service.
We are aware of every single slopedrooftop within our vicinity, and we avoid
(24:49):
these sloped rooftops at all costs becausewe know how dangerous they really are.
Unfortunately, most civilians do do notfully comprehend the severity of sloped rooftops.
I mean, you could tumble rightoff one of those suckers, or you
(25:11):
could roll. You could roll offof a sloped rooftop like a little burrita,
just right off of it. Oh, thank you, like a burrita.
Okay, Okay, that's enough ofthat. I'm gonna run out of
time here, guys. Breitbart dotCom Today has been reporting quite a bit
on this story, and the editorshad made some points here I want to
share with you guys. Look, the Secret Service failed to protect Trump.
(25:36):
He's only alive today because God's goodgrace told him to turn his head.
But what's even more disturbing, heliterally came within a millisecond of being assassinated
by an assassin who was allowed toprowl the grounds of Trump's Saturday night rally
for as long as one to threehours, hours after he was identified as
(25:56):
a suspicious character. Yeah, there'sa lot to be said about this.
Started at one pm Saturday, therally grounds were open to the public.
The assassin lands on securities radar afterbasically a magnet meter picked up his rangefinder
device. Advice that looks like binoculars. Whether you're a golfer or an assassin,
(26:19):
the only use for a rangefinder isto hit a target. That was
at one pm. Then at fivepm, security spots the guy with the
rangefinder hanging around the American Glass ResearchBuilding. That's the building you would soon
climb up to shoot at Trump.Forty five minutes after that, local police
station inside the AGR building spot theassassin scoping out a roof near the rally.
(26:41):
That's an exact quote, and callin his presence on a system wide
channel. The Secret Service is supposedlylistening to five point fifty one. Secret
Service spots the assassin. Two minuteslater, the assassin is concerned, confirmed
as a threat. Six pm.Officer sees Crook's return to the AGR building
(27:02):
carrying a backpack, issues a warningto command. Crook sits down and begins
looking at his phone. The suspectis seen pulling out his rangefinder to gauge
the distance between where he was andTrump's podium. The officer reportedly uses the
open channel to report all of this. Are you ready for this? Two
minutes later, Trump walks on stage. The Secret Service didn't tell Trump to
(27:25):
hold on for five minutes so theycould check out the threat. They allowed
him to walk on stage. Minuteafter, a guy was spotted with a
backpack and a rangefinder scoping the stage. In Probably this actually gets worse.
Here's what the Secret Service allowed tohappen in the nine minutes, nine whole
minutes before the president was shot.Trump was on stage. The assassin climbed
(27:47):
on top of the agr roof, brought out what we're told as a semi
automatic rifle, and set up hisshot. A local cop then climbed up
the roof. You were told itwas a Secret Service agent. I guess
it was a local cop. Theassassin points his gun at the local cop.
The cop drops to the ground andcalls it in. In the meantime,
rallygoers are trying to warn security abouta guy on the roof. Six
(28:07):
' eleven. Nine minutes later, the assassin is allowed to get off eight
shots before the Secret Service finally takesout the threat. And the very first
part about this, a roof approximatelyfour hundred and fifty feet away from Trump's
line of sight was not manned bysecurity. Even though Trump is the most
famous man, probably in the world, certainly the most famous politician. That
(28:29):
roof was not secured, even thoughthe corporate media had been calling for his
assassination and comparing him to Hitler foryears. That roof was not secured,
even though I RAN was reportedly issuedinga fatwah on Trump and Biden. Has
left our southern border wide open? And why was the obvious security threat of
a roof left unguarded. There's alot of questions we don't get answers to.
(28:51):
You know, why do you knowwhy? You know why? Kenny
has always thought the best things inlife are free, free plus tax.
Of course, Kenny Webster's pursuit ofhappiness. You guys like Mel Gibson.
Mel Gibson's next film is going tobe about a psychopath. It's kind of
(29:14):
like Joe Biden's next movie being abouta corpse. Is this a spoiled,
pampered, narcissistic Hollywood bratt or what? Or what? Indeed, it's that
time of the week, kids,we take a trip to the West Coast
Hollywood. No, not the nicepart, the part that Tim Mathis lives
in. He's a stand up comedianfrom Texas now living on the West Coast
(29:36):
where he has a bird's eye viewof pedophilia and casting couch cocaine sniffing movie
Hollywood directors, Tim, have youbeen invited to the casting couch recently?
How much cocaine did you have tosniff? Ah? Man, They're not
gonna invite somebody that's gonna snitch downhim that snitches beginning stitches in Hollywood,
(29:56):
I guess, Tim. Have youseen Hillbilly Elogy with JD. Van.
It's not new. It's a moviethat came out a couple of years back
before he was Senator. Yeah.I watched it a few years ago.
I enjoyed it. I am actuallyfrom a small town, not in the
Midwest, but in South Texas,so a lot of that stuff resonated,
(30:17):
especially his grandma being a gun totingkind of crazy person but also still being
a loving individual. So I enjoyedit. I'm glad people are starting to
watch it more, and I'm gladthat Hollywood. Hollywood put it on the
(30:37):
screen, even though some people aremad that they did. After Trump was
elected. The first time Hillbilly Elegywas this book where a middle American guy
explained to West Coast elitists and EastCoast elitists, coastal elitists why Trump won.
They didn't understand these exotic people fromthe flyover states and the rust Belt.
That's all this book was about. So Ron Howard makes it into a
(31:00):
movie, and now Variety, theHollywood News outlet, has published an article
suggesting that it's Hollywood's fault. Jd. Vance exists to an exact quote here,
they created a monster. Do youagree with that? Yeah? Well,
and in Hollywood's view, they did. And here's why this is what
(31:22):
goes on in Hollywood. I didn'tbelieve that it was as bad as people
say it is. Of course, this is the Foro, the Dina Carano
thing. I moved out here intwenty seventeen, and they really, really
really try to keep anybody that's evencenter right to a right wing out of
(31:42):
the spotlight. It's very big ongatekeeping out here. They have people come
through your Instagram, through your Twitter, through your Facebook, all that stuff
to make sure, oh is thisguy or girl right for the project.
Yeah, they're right for it.But hey, they posted that. You
know, Marco Rubio seems like anice guy, so they're out, you
(32:04):
know, that's right. Yeah,Marco Rubio, he can't be nice.
He's he has an R behind hisname. Exactly. In fact, there
are some many agents say, youknow, don't post about politics, but
if you do post about politics, make sure they're pro Democrats. They they
don't want anybody to make it ifthey are even remotely on the other side
(32:30):
of the aisle. They don't evenhave to be pro Republican or pro America
or whatever you want to say,as long as they're not anti democratic.
So yeah, they they look atit as a moral failure on their part
that JD. Vance snuff through thethe the perimeter, for lack of a
(32:50):
better term. And exactly so they'regoing to be mad at Ron Howard for
a little while, especially of Trumpand Vance when the election, which when
you're running against the Potato with COVID, you have a pretty good shot,
all right. I want to assumeNetflix is not going to remove the movie
just because it's suddenly associated with theTrump administration and what have you. But
(33:15):
I mean, they didn't take downDave Chappelle's stand up comedy specials. But
again this is a little different.Chappelle wasn't a Trump supporter. He was
just critical of trans people. Whatdo you think, if you had to
bet, what are the Vegas oddson this that Netflix removes the movie now
that it's become a maga thing andwhen in fact it probably always was.
(33:36):
I don't think they're going to removeit for that reason. They might not
renew the streaming rights when it comesup, which means it'll just end up
on two B while you'll be ableto watch it for free. Anyway.
Here's another thing that happened just inrecent recent days. The Boys series or
season finale came out and they havea title card saying that they they have
(34:00):
renamed it season finale finale, seasonfour because the original name was Assassination Run
Wow this week. For those thatdon't know, they've made as you know,
as I'm sure your audience know, the Homelander is supposed to be this
allegory for Trump or whatever. SoI don't think most people. I don't
think most people know what it is. I think we assume that. I
(34:22):
think that comic book enthusiasts assume thateverybody knows what The Boys is, but
I get the impression a lot ofpeople don't know what it is. Tim,
Well, that's just it. TheBoys comic book came out, you
know, decades ago, so therewasn't this Trump symbolism and all that stuff
with Homelander that's been added. Wehave to we have to explain it to
(34:44):
this We're probably confusing people. Iknow some people, certainly a lot of
people know what it is. Butfor those that don't know, there's this
show on Amazon Prime based on acomic book. I want you to imagine
that Captain America is secretly evil.Imagine Captain America is secretly a superhero who
appears to be a good guy outin the real world behind the scenes,
(35:06):
is actually a bad guy. Andoh, by the way, they've tried.
It's produced by Seth Green am IChris Seth Rogan produces it, and
they've tried to draw a line betweenthis TV show and Trump supporters, sort
of like what they did with Handmaid'sTale. Right, Yeah, it's very
overt. You know, in thefirst couple of seasons you could see it
and I was watching it thinking like, please, don't make this ridiculous,
(35:30):
stupid political thing. But in seasonthree they really really drove it into it
hard and now it's just full blown. I just skipped this last season,
but yeah, they had to changethe name of the last episode of this
season because too many assassination mentioned. So it's weird when they land it too
(35:51):
far on the nose. They gotto change up what they're doing. Andrew
Breitbart, one of my heroes, famously said politics is downstream from culture.
And if you don't believe that true, consider the news story I'm about to
explain to you. Tom Strickler.Tom Strichter Early is a Hollywood talent agent
a lot of money with this talentagency, WM huge prominent Hollywood mega donor.
(36:13):
You don't get to be a megadonor without donating millions of dollars to
politicians. This guy's given money toDemocrats senators all over the country, very
important people. And according to areport today from David m The Tom Strickler,
the guy writing the checks here,is pressuring Senate Democrats to publicly abandon
Joe Biden or he won't fund theirreelection campaigns. In November, a do
(36:37):
you believe it. In b doyou think it works? I believe it.
That's the main way to get atget him out is to cut off
the money. Once you cut offthe money, you can't do much,
especially at the level of a presidentialcampaign. And for those of y'all who
don't know, WAME is not justa random agency. That is one of
the biggest agencies for entertainment talent purposes. So yeah, I can. I
(37:05):
can definitely see that. If he'sthreatening to cut off the money, and
I know that, I guess ninetymillion dollars has also already been cut off
from Joe Joe. In my opinion, he's not going to make it.
The entertainment industry has turned on him, and by turned on him, they
they've realized that the lie isn't workinganymore. People are seeing how far done
(37:29):
Biden is, and if you lookat how he's doing right now, coming
up and down those stairs one stepat a time. I think they've dialed
down on his med just to gethim out. Even Oh, dude,
I think you're onto something there.I don't think that's a crazy idea at
all, Tim, I think that'san interesting theory. Nancy Pelosi has privately
told Biden, you're dragging down Democrats. Chuck Schumer told him this. Hackeen
(37:50):
Jefferys told him this. This isnews we're getting from liberal news outlets.
This isn't some Info Wars guy orbright Bart guy reporting this. Chuck Schumer
pressed Biden on his cannon to seesaying you're dragging down the party. You
don't see Obama out campaigning or rallyingfor Biden right now. If Obama is
for Biden, he would be allin for Biden. These are the exact
(38:12):
same people that get funded by Hollywoodmega donors and Silicon Valley mega donors,
the very people that are threatening tocut off the funding right now. I
got to think there's something to this. Do you think Biden is still the
candidate on Monday? On Monday?Maybe, I don't even know if he'll
make it through the weekend, butit's I think maybe not there in two
(38:32):
weeks. Yeah, all right, one more quick question for you. You're
a stand up comedian, so youprobably remember when Dane Cook was really popular.
Dane Cook doesn't make a lot ofnews nowadays, but he does headline
make headlines for this one thing. He's fifty two years old. His wife's
twenty five, and they've been togetherfor a while, right as a twenty
(38:52):
seven year age gap between them. But supposedly he's been dating or said she
was a teenager and they're married. Are trying to cancel him for this?
Now, to be fair, she'san adult now and they're marriage. She's
twenty five. You know, whatdo you think about this? I mean,
just pretend he's a female school teacher. They seem to get away with
that type of thing every week,do they. Yeah? I mean I
(39:15):
watched the news. I see whatthese teachers are doing. But yeah,
I mean if there was something illegalabout it, then then maybe have an
issue with it. I guess they'remarried now. I don't know how young
she was. Obviously, if shewas like fourteen when they started dating,
then that would be crazy. Buttwenty, according to Fox News is the
answer. If she was twenty, then listen, we got to set we
(39:38):
got to set in an age ofadulthood somewhere, you know. I mean,
I went into the Navy at twenty. You can get drafted at eighteen,
So I mean, what are wereally talking about here? Yeah?
Tell you think they're just hating ondom couch. Getting a younger, hotter
chick is all part of the wholemission of becoming famous. I mean,
(40:00):
dang cook is his famous. That'swhat happened. That's how it goes.
That is how a twenty year oldmy man, Tim, what's going on
with you guys? You're promoting anything? You got anything coming up you want
people to check out. I'm atthe I'm at the comedy store tonight,
which I'm guessing your your listeners can'tmake it too because it's in Hollywood.
But we are actively seeking funding forour Frisbee Golf mockumentary. We're going to
(40:25):
be putting that to go fundly forthat very soon, and we're about one
fifth away funded right now. Sowe'll get you all some information about that,
and we're going to be filming thatmost likely in Texas here in about
a year. Very cool. AndI understand a lot of our listeners favorite
local talk show host will be inthat movie too. That's that's exciting.
(40:45):
Oh yeah, yeah, we're goingto have a part for you. My
brother Tim, I love you buddy. Follow him on social media at Tim
Mathis Comedy. He's on Twitter andInstagram. He is based and he is
