Speaker 2 (00:04):

Speaker 1 (00:06):
Liberty and freedom will make you smile. Of a suit
of happiness.

Speaker 3 (00:10):
Us on your radio to owl just as cheeseburgers.

Speaker 1 (00:13):
A lib rise at Sean.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Bolton has been indicted for mishandling classified information. Apparently it
didn't go easily. When officials arrived, he sicked his mustache
on them. Hi, I'm Kenny Webster. Thank you for turning
on your radio this afternoon. What's happening in Texas this weekend?
The No King's Rally obviously all over the news. Also
all over the news Lena he Dalgo, John Whitmeyer and Zorhan. Mom, Donnie,

(00:49):
we have a leader in our own community. It's very
different from what most of the big city Democrat leaders
around the country are doing. Of course, we have a
leader in our city that's exactly this. We're going to
talk about both of them with Holly Hanson. In fact,
we'll get to the stuff about Lena Hidalgo later. Let
me start off the show right now with a conversation
about Mayor John Whitmyer. He was in the New York

(01:10):
Times today. They explain it like this, Mayor John Whitmyer
of Houston believes the best way to govern a diverse,
immigrant heavy city in the current political climate is by
keeping your head down and your ambitions modest. Now, the
article was I think intended to be a little critical
of Whitmyer, but he's not wrong. Whitmeyer says, sometimes the

(01:31):
louder you get, the less people listen to you. I
don't respond to Trump. That could be counterproductive. Do I
have personal views, Sure, and they're strong, But why do
you want me to challenge him? With rhetoric escalating over
immigration raids and National Guard troop deployments. Mayor Whitmeyer's betting
that the best way to govern a large American city

(01:51):
right now is to keep your head down. Most major
cities are in turmoil. We are not, he says. Here
in Houston. Now, you might be thinking to yourselves, Look,
I live in Houston. Houston ain't great. What's he talking about? Okay,
have you visited another city recently? The other cities are
in dire straits. When you go to San Antonio or Austin,

(02:13):
there are so many homeless people in every corner you
don't know which direction to look in. Houston's not like that.
Do we have crime in Houston. Yeah. Sure. There's been
a lot of attention focusing on how many dead bodies
they pulled out of the Bayou so far this year. Amazingly,
as much attention as that news story's getting, it's still
less than last year. But I digress. The person in

(02:35):
the article that Whitmeyer was really taking aim at wasn't
so much about Trump. It was about Zorhan Mamdanni. Witmeyer
pointed out in the New York Times interview that maybe
promising to have Benjamin Nett and Yahoo arrested when you're
the mayor of some city in America isn't the best
policy position to take. Marianda Devine put it quite well,

(02:59):
it's hard to believe the twenty four years after nine
to eleven, New York is on the brink of voting
in a Uganda born Islamist mayor who campaigned last week
with the unindicted co conspirator in the first World Trade
Center terrorist attack that killed six New Yorkers. You may
recall some of our older listeners certainly recall this back

(03:21):
in the early nineties at the World Trade Center in
New York City before it was blown up by Muslims.
A different group of Muslims tried to blow it up
well three weeks before the election. Polling says that the
runaway front runner, the perpetually smiling Democratic Socialist candidate Zorhan Mamdanni,
a thirty three year old who's never ran a business before,

(03:43):
much less a city the size of New York, will
be this city's first Muslim mayor, and not just any Muslim,
an unapologetic as Lamo Marxist who appears to have been
carefully constructed for electoral success in the same political laboratory
as Barack Obama. Mom Donnie is Khaki so cocky that

(04:04):
he boasted on social media about his Friday visit to
radical Imams Saraj Wahaj at the Bedford Steuvesant Mosque, despite
wahaj Is links to terrorists and his openly home of
all the grants. I never really understood this. For some reason,
Liberal Democrats are very pro gay unless they're being pro Muslim,

(04:25):
and then all their beliefs about the gays go right
out the doors. Wajaj is quote a pillar of the
Bedsty community for nearly half a century. Mam Donnie wrote
that on his X account, the Imam who wants Sharia
lawn post in the United States is actually one in
the nation's foremost Muslim leaders. According to the very Slippery
Moum Donnie. For military veterans like Mark Lucas, aged forty three,

(04:50):
who answered to the call to defend his country after
nine to eleven, Mom Donnie's assent is kind of a
kick in the guts, he says, there's a lot of emotion.
This is tearing open wounds for veterans all over America.
I'm a small town Iowa guy. For a while, I
didn't believe mom Donnie could win. I thought there's no
way this is going to happen. Then after the debate

(05:10):
last week, I saw his numbers go up, and I
saw these black pilled people online giving up on New York.
I can't stand people who give up. We can't write
off the city that is the most visible icon of
the United States of America. So what's he's so mad about. Well,
Lucas grew up in Wilton, Ohio, and he was nineteen
when September eleventh, two thousand and one happened. That's when

(05:32):
he decided to embark in a career, actually gave up
his career to go and serve in his military. Like
so many patriotic Midwestern boys whose families of a long
history of military service, Lucas fell to calling to join
the army. He was deployed to Afghanistan in two thousand
and three. He says, I wanted to avenge what happened,

(05:53):
to kill the monsters responsible for that horrific terror attack.
Apparently Lucas didn't even like New York's but after nine
to eleven, he says, we were all New Yorkers and
he's right. So this week, as I notice, people around
the country are praising mom Donnie, a guy that's actually
hanging out with terrorists from the World Trade Center, and
criticizing John Whitmyer for making the point that maybe we

(06:17):
should worry a little less about what happens in our
own community than what's happening on the national stage. I
can't help but wonder do these people enjoy watching their
cities crumble. Remember that these inner city Marxist far left candidates,
they're not just soft on crime, they're friends with the criminals.
They're celebrating the criminals. They can't impost sweeping gun control

(06:38):
legislature unless you've been convinced that your guns and your
firearm rights are unnecessary. They can't make the revolution happen
unless they can convince you that our society is doing poorly.
Even if society is doing poorly, because they're the reason
it's happening. People on the far lefter cheering for America
to crumble and fall apart. Right now, in New York City,

(07:00):
you see a guy who wants every grocery store to
be operated the same way the local DMVs are being operated.
So maybe right now, as everyone around the country is
criticizing John Whitmyer, an old school Democrat who wants to
be tough on crime and solve homelessness, it is possible
that we've picked the wrong person to make fun of
pursuit of happiness.

Speaker 4 (07:21):
This is Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness on KPRC nine
fifty Houston.

Speaker 2 (07:30):
It's good to be the King. It is good to
be the King. Over the weekend, I couldn't help but
notice all the angry white liberal women were absent from
the mall near my house. I didn't see them out
at the local wine bars. Where are all the angry
middle aged cat ladies. Oh, they're at the No King's rally. Well,
it's good to be the king. Apparently I don't know

(07:50):
any kings, so I reached out to the closest person
I knew that was affiliated with a monarchy. That would
be my friend, Daniel Turner, the King of Power, the Future,
Daniel King, Daniel, how are you, my brother?

Speaker 3 (08:03):
Oh, Danny's great to bet on your show.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Thanks for having me back, Daniel. Is it good to
be the king? How does it feel today?

Speaker 3 (08:11):
This is this is just the worst protest. It's so boring,
it's so desperate. You know, I'm happy all the aged
hippies got together on Saturday and we're able to, you know,
beat the drum and dance in circles and scream. But
you know, if you've been playing this game long enough,
you know No Kings is no different than twenty twelves

(08:35):
Occupy Wall Street or two and sixteens you know, Believe
All Women Rally, or two thousand and fours, No Blood
for Oil, or the BLM of twenty twenty. Like every
couple of years, they the same leftists need the same
cause to glom on. They get their marching orders. You know,
you hang up your climate change T shirt and you

(08:57):
take out your no Kings T shirt and you still
have of the hate the Jews t shirt in the
closet in case the peace deal falls apart, because that
one's always ready to go. So it's just so boring
to have to pretend this is serious protests and not
just paid activism to appease aged hippies and get their
vote for the next election.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
Yeah. I noticed a lot of that this weekend, and
obviously people are out using this as a moment to campaign.
There was a video. I don't know if you saw this.
There was a video that Donald Trump posted where he
uses AI to dump what looks like feces on the
head of a political activist named Harry Sisson. And I noticed,

(09:38):
first of all, conservatives didn't get mad about it because
it's funny and it's not real. I noticed a lot
of liberals weren't getting mad about it, like there really
is nothing in the news about it today or anything.
Not a lot of outrage from people on the left.
Is that because liberals are jealous of Harry because he
was the one in the video and they wanted it
to be them.

Speaker 3 (09:57):
I think it's just because liberals are jealous that they
don't know how to use social media. Well, the Trump
media team is very aggressive, you know, the wholesombrero memes
that they've been using for twenty days now making fun
of Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries because of the shutdown,
saying they want illegal benefits for Mexicans, and so they

(10:21):
put them in sombreros and that has Hakeem Jeffries up
in arms saying it's racist and offensive, and the Trump
media team doubles down and they continue to use that.
So I think it's wonderful that the Trump media team
is willing to fight. They do have fun with social media.
They push the boundaries, no doubt. But it's a nice
departure again for those of us who have been doing

(10:41):
this for a while, it's a nice departure of the
old days of the GOP where we just allow them
to beat the crap out of us, and we're supposed
to be elegant and refined and dignified. Right. I would
rather win with bloody knuckles than lose with with you know, grace.
I don't want to lose, period. And I think a
lot of republic they go into every battle saying, what's

(11:02):
the nicest way we can lose. Right. A lot of
people criticized Romney for that. Back in twelve he was
close to knocking out Obama, but he was unwilling to
give the death punch, right, He was unwilling to destroy
the campaign. He wanted to lose. Graciously. Trump doesn't want
to lose, period, and he will win with a little
bit of dirt under his fingernails. And that's a welcome

(11:24):
change for Republican politics.

Speaker 2 (11:26):
All right, So Trump Trump posts a video that some
people found to be offensive. Fine, whatever, But at the
No Kings protest this weekend around the country, no shortage
of people openly mocking the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Plenty
of videos of this sort of thing. A woman caught
on video at the No Kings protest in Chicago accused

(11:48):
on social media of mocking Charlie Kirk. She was an
elementary school teacher. Does she still have a job today?
Was she still have a job tomorrow? I mean, it's
a school shooting. For a public school teacher to make
a joke about this, that seems a little worse to
me than what Trump did.

Speaker 3 (12:03):
I had heard that she was fired. I don't know
if there's evidence of that. School teachers rarely fire their own,
they'll put them in those rubber rooms and give them
benefits for life. The school, the teachers' unions protects their own.
I put this out on social media. I'll say it again.
It's not something I hide behind. Even if it is

(12:24):
offensive to some people. Let's just go out and say it.
I am firmly in the camp now that the reason
why we have school shootings is because of these types
of school teachers. I think we have a huge problem
in our school system that we have these angry, violent
leftists who pepper their bed, their their their rooms with

(12:45):
LGBTQ sexual perversion nonsense. They are constantly talking about leftist media,
They're constantly shoving trans flags down people's throats. We wonder
why we have school shootings. It's not guns, We've always
had guns in this Country's not video games. We've had
video games for forty some odd years in this country.

(13:06):
I firmly believe at this point that the reason why
we have so many school shootings is because we are
putting our children for eight or nine hours a day
into the hands of these absolute flipping monsters who hide
behind being teachers. But what they really are just activists masquerading.
And if you have a woman like that who's making
fun of the Charlie Kirk assassination, there is no way

(13:28):
in hell, Kenny, there is no flipping way in hell.
She goes back to teaching kids mathematics in fourth grade
the next day, as if nothing happened. She brings that
evil and violence with her everywhere she goes. So our
school shooters, I think it's the teachers' unions who are
cultivating our school shooters. Quite frankly, all right.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Over the weekend, Bill Nye, the not a science guy,
I told Breit Bartners that the the No Kings protest
are basically the same as the Boston Tea Party in
seventeen seventy three. He said, pretty much the same thing
we have now, we have the same grievances. I'm sure, yes,
I'm sure you know how I feel about this. What's

(14:09):
your take on that?

Speaker 3 (14:10):
Yeah, we have no taxation with representation, right. The guy
who won the popular vote in every single swing state,
the guy who flipped every single Kamala Harris county, and
she did not flip one or hold one of the
swing counties that Biden had quote unquote one just four
years earlier. This is what no kings are. It's absolutely insanity.

(14:32):
You know what's the funniest thing about no kings when
it comes to our elected officials. I saw Ed Markley
or Murkley or whatever his name is from Massachusetts at
the No King's rally. He had a trans scarf wrapped
around his neck. He loves the trans issues. Right. Ed
Markley has been in Washington, DC since nineteen seventy seven. Right, so,

(14:54):
nineteen seventy six he was elected. He has been there
since January of nineteen seventy seven as a member of Congress.
Talk about new kings. As a member of Congress, he
has exempted himself from Obamacare. He exempted himself from Freedom
of Information Act requests. You cannot foia his office. He
exempted himself from every single COVID mandate. He exempted himself

(15:18):
from insider trading rules. Right, So who are the kings
in our country?

Speaker 5 (15:24):
Right?

Speaker 3 (15:24):
I mean? George the Third only reigned for about thirty
five years. Ed Markley's been in DC for going on
fifty Right, so who are the kings in our country?
Of these people who they've exempted themselves from shutdown, right ed,
Markley is getting paid tomorrow. Of course he is, because
he's not going to risk his salary for a government shutdown.

(15:45):
But our cops aren't, our first responders aren't getting paid,
our air traffic controllers aren't getting paid. So he has
the gall to stand up there and talk about no kings,
the life he has carved out for himself as a
member of the Congress. They may not be kings, but boy,
they are little princesses of the state, and they treat
themselves as such.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
I don't know, Daniel. I think if Alexander Hamilton and
Sam Adams had the chance, they would have been trans
rights activists, You don't think.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
So that's what the revolution is all about.

Speaker 2 (16:17):
That really thought for exactly maybe when they were screwed
the Red Coats are coming, what they really meant was
the cis genders are coming.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
You know.

Speaker 3 (16:27):
This is as a Knox's East Coaster, greater than being
in New Yorker or a Virginian. And I am an
not just East Coaster. I'm very proud of the fact
that I've lived all of my life in one of
the original colonies. So the fact that he represents Massachusetts
as we head towards our two fiftieth. You know the
fact that that Tim Kaine and Mark Warner represent Virginia

(16:49):
as we head tartu fiftieth. I would expect this nonsense
from Oregon because Oregon's only been a state for about
fifteen days. Sure, no one really knows what the hell
happens in Oregon. But imagine imagine being in the land
of John Adams, right, and this is who you are,
like being in the land of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington.

(17:10):
And now we have Kim Kine.

Speaker 5 (17:13):
Right.

Speaker 3 (17:13):
It's embarrassing for me for the original colonies that we
have the worst of the worst in our Congress. Just
embarrassing my brother.

Speaker 2 (17:22):
Daniel Turner from your mouth to God's ears. I don't know,
mel Brooks, what do you think got the beatic king?
There you go, it is good to be the king.
Follow Daniel Turner. He's on x check out his website
Powerthefuture dot com. You'll be glad you did.

Speaker 5 (17:34):
J Jay and Kings.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
This is Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness on KPRC nine
fifty Houston.

Speaker 2 (17:44):
A bunch of priceless jewels were just stolen from the
Louver in Paris, and you wonder why CBS puts everything
in a cage. Hi, I'm Kenny Webster. I'm actually going
to be on TV at the top of the hour
here on Newsmax with chrisco and I think Joe PAGs
to talk about this next topic, Senator John Cornyn and

(18:05):
super Pac money. John Corny is spending a lot of
money right now to try to stay in office a lot.
And it's not just his money, it's money from his
own super Pac also money from the National Committee of
Republican Senators. You're NCRS, so you ask yourself NRSC, I'm sorry,

(18:26):
the National Republican Senate Committee, that's what it's called. And
they're spending a lot of money right now to protect
John Cornyn. Some of you might be wondering why. We'll
get to that in just a minute, but before we do,
I want you to understand. Georgia, Michigan, and North Carolina
are three states, three swing states that all have a
Senate race coming up next year. Georgia narrow Trump victory

(18:50):
in twenty twenty four, Michigan Trump flipped it in twenty
twenty four. Biden won it in twenty twenty North Carolina
split ticket voting, Trump won it, Democrats won the governor
and ship in twenty twenty four. Every one of those
states is up for grabs right now. The Republicans are
at a serious risk of losing the Senate, and with

(19:14):
their resources, with all the money that they've got, they're
going to spend it to try to protect John Cornyn
from Ken Paxton and Wesley Hunt. Do you understand how
insane that is? That is nuts. Look at all the
people that are retiring right now. Alabama, Tommy Tuberville, Iowa,
Joni Earnst, she's fifty six years old. Do you know

(19:35):
why that Republican senator is retiring? Because her polling numbers
are poor, she's unpopular, she's not gonna run again. Guess
who she has better polling numbers than John Cornyn. Kentucky
Mitch McConnell about to retire, North Carolina, Tom tell Us
about to retire. We just talked about that all these

(19:55):
Republicans are stepping down. In some cases it's because they're
getting gold. In other cases it's they're unpopular. And more
than one swing state, guys, North Carolina, Michigan, we're at
a big risk of losing these states right now. If
you're one of the people that believes that spending a
lot of money is a way to win a political race,
which I think is what most people believe. Obviously it's

(20:17):
not a guarantee, but certainly helps, then you can't deny
the fact that the Republicans spending thirty five million dollars
to protect John Cornyn. It's ridiculous. And by the way,
that's what they've spent so far. They're expected to spend
something like seventy million dollars. John Cornyn Superpack and outside

(20:39):
groups supporting Cornyn have spent thirty five million dollars and
he's still losing. It's a proof that Texas voters probably
can't be bought. It's a very broken brand. After decades
in office, John's image is beyond repair. His record speaks
louder than his TV ads do for a long time.

(21:00):
R in his supported policies that do not support Texas values,
gun control, amnesty, he voted to defund ice. Some people
will say, well, not on the floor of the Senate, Yeah,
but he voted for it in a committee. He voted
to oppose Trump's wall. He betrayed the Mega movement. Two

(21:20):
years ago. He actually said Trump's career in politics was over.
It's time to move aside from the Trump brand of Republicanism.
So now they're blaming Wesley Hunt. They're blaming Ken Paxtead
for the cost. But the spending started before Wesley Hunt
even entered the race. This guy is a twenty four
year incumbent. John Cornyn needs thirty five million dollars just

(21:43):
to stay above water. I think it's pretty clear it's
time for some new leadership in the Senate. If you
spend thirty million dollars on convincing people that you're maga,
you're probably not maga. Most people in Texas see through
this pe pull of Texas know who is fighting for them.
They also know who sold him ount. John Cornyn supports

(22:07):
gun control. John Cornyn helped Joe Biden pass a red
flag law. It was a bill that provided funding to
states that needed to fund their red flag laws. That's
what it did. And you know, beyond saving his career,
Corny seat isn't slipping because of competition. It's slipping because
people in Texas are done with the swamp. This is

(22:30):
the most expensive Senate race in the country right now,
and it's a race in the primary. Think about how
crazy that is. Corn turned his own campaign into a
money pit trying to erase his own record. Texans are
ready for a new chapter of conservative leadership. Somebody that's on,
that's on apologetic, Somebody that's authentic, Somebody that's America first.

(22:53):
If you're looking for somebody with a proven record of
what they're already capable of doing, look at Ken Paxton.
If you're looking for a fresh, new face and something different,
look at Wesley Hunt. One of these guys arguably the
best attorney general in the country for the MAGA movement.
The other one arguably the best lawmaker in the country

(23:13):
for the MAGA movement. John Cornyn can say neither of
those things. What could you do with thirty five million dollars?
You could do a lot. You could buy thirty five
Whataburger franchises. You could give everyone in Texas a honey
butter chicken biscuit sent right to their house. With thirty
five million dollars, you could get a lifetime supply of

(23:34):
Buffy Bucky's beaver Nuggets and enough gas to get there
and back over and over again. With thirty five million dollars,
you could have seventy thousand custom cowboy boots made one
for every lobbyist in Washington, DC, and he would too.
With thirty five million dollars, you could buy fourteen hundred

(23:57):
brand new Ford F one fifties Texas at Obviously, With
thirty five million dollars, you could buy seven million brisket tacos.
That's breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a decade. And I'm
talking about real brisket too, not that ketchup brisket that
John Cornyn cooked up in a crockpot and photographed for
his social media account. Pathetic. With thirty five million dollars,

(24:20):
you'd have enough campaign yard signs to cover I ten
all the way from El Paso to Beaumont. Thirty five
million dollars, you'd have thirty five million HGB tortillas. It's
a lot of tortillas, kiddo. With thirty five million dollars,
you could have a border wall made out of Waterburger receipts,

(24:42):
and John Cornyn would still oppose it in a committee vote.
So here we are now dealing with a guy who
shouldn't have to spend any money to stay in office.
We're dealing with a guy that should have been an
easy victory. You might wonder why is it that the
National Republican Senate Committee is spending all this money on
John Well. For about twenty years, John has been a

(25:04):
safe bet spend a wishy, washy, limp wristed liberal Republican.
They haven't had to spend a lot of money on him.
He's raised a lot of money for the other guys
in Washington, DC, So now they're all doing favors for him.
I have a very hard time believing that Tim Scott
or Chuck Grassley or Ran Paul or any of these

(25:26):
other guys in the National Republican Senate Committee want to
spend money on John Cornyn, Mike Lee, Ted Cruz. These
guys vote against John Cornyn all the time. But the
person in charge of the NRSC, Tim Scott, he's a
lot like John Cornyn. He's another one of these wishy, washy,
limp wristed, middle of the road, do nothing, low testosterone

(25:49):
Republican senators, and they stick together. If the Republicans were smart,
they would take that thirty five million dollars and they
would spend it in places like Iowa or Michigan. They
would spend it in places like North Carolina. They would
spend it in places like Georgia. Mark my words. If

(26:13):
we lose the Senate next year, never forget how much
money the Republicans spent to protect John Cornyn from people
in his own political party. If we lose the Senate
next year, John Cornyn should be the first guy you blame.

Speaker 4 (26:32):
This is Kenny Webster's pursuit of happiness on KPRC nine
point fifty Houston.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
I went by a Whole Foods this weekend. I mean,
don't judge me. It's the grocery store in the neighborhood
here where the radio stations at It's where I live.
I went in there and I couldn't help but notice
there was so much room in the parking lot and
didn't have any trouble at all finding a spot to
park my Prius. I don't drive a Prius. And then
I remembered it was the No Kings rally this weekend.

(27:02):
That's right, all the angry upper middle class white women
are out protesting against Donald Trump while they were over
the weekend. And you know who is not there? Really
absent from all of it. And this is their language.
By the ways, brown people, Where were the brown people
this weekend? Video after video of people protesting, And if

(27:22):
you ask liberals why this is, they'll say, Ah, they're
afraid of getting arrested, so they're all just hiding at home. No,
they're just not at the rally. Well, who got what
was ice at the rally? No, it's I think that's
an interesting way of actually ignoring the fact that a
lot of minorities in the country are leaning to the

(27:43):
right these days, and for good reason. They see what's
going on in big cities around the country, it's pretty
obvious the policies being implemented by municipal government leaders are
not working. I will tell you there's a couple of
exceptions in a very interesting place in the country. We
are led by two people here in Southeast Texas, and

(28:05):
I don't mean Governor Abbitt, John Whitmyer, the mayor of
the city, and Harris County Judge Lena Hidalgo, whose political
career is probably almost over. Over the weekend, a video
of her went viral where she appeared to be It
appeared as though she was mocking a mentally disabled person
during a commissioner's court meeting, a young man stood up

(28:27):
and made some comments about how he was happy that
there was peace in Gaza, and then Lena Hidalgo said
he was the because he was wearing a captain's hat.
She said he was the captain of the Republican three.
And that's, by the way, her way of denigrating her
colleagues and Republicans and a mentally disabled person all at
the same time. There's a video on Twitter if you

(28:47):
want to watch it. I'm not going to play it.
At the same time. Over the weekend, Mayor Whitmyer, the
mayor of the city, was in the New York Times.
He doesn't do a lot of interviews, especially not lately,
and he made some comments you would probably be shocked
to hear if you didn't know much about him. The
Democrat mayor of the biggest city in Texas says, a
lot of liberal Democrats around this country are a little

(29:08):
too obsessed with Donald Trump. It's time to stop worrying
about that, put your head down, focus more on what's
going on in your community. Stop worrying so much about
national politics. He also had some comments about Zorhan Mam Donnie,
the socialist who is apparently a shoe in to become
the next mayor of New York City, basically saying that

(29:30):
Mom Donnie's comments about wanting to arrest the prime Minister
of Israel are not exactly going to unify the country
and have nothing to do with city politics. By the way,
he's right about that. Here with her take on all
of this and the latest news about what Lena Hidalgo
has just decided to do with one point three million
dollars worth of your money, Harris County taxpayers. Holly Hansome

(29:51):
here from the Texan Dot News. Holly, how are you
this afternoon.

Speaker 6 (29:55):
I'm doing great, Kenny, And I shop at Whole Foods too,
just to just throw that in there. I didn't see you.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
There though, no hate. I go to the one in
the city where there's a brewery. That's just a coincidence, by.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
The way, of course, of course it is all right.

Speaker 2 (30:11):
So you had my explanation of the lay of the land.
Right now, Right now, the national news media is surprisingly
fascinated by what's going on in Houston. It's Whitmeyer's all
over Fox News today, and not because of some controversy, Holly,
but because there's not any controversy. Now, okay, there's always
some controversy, but what's your take on all of this.
I mean, Lena Hidalgo spending one point three million dollars

(30:34):
for illegal immigrant deportation defense services at the same time,
the other mayor, the other leader of our community, Mayor Whitmeyer,
basically saying, maybe we worry a little too much about Trump.

Speaker 6 (30:46):
Sure, you know, there's an interesting contrast between Mayor John
Whitmeyer and Lena Hidalgo, the head of the county government.
Whitmeyer has come from the state Senate. He is a Democrat,
but he really emphasized working with members of both parties
to solve local issues. And he's frequently asked way in

(31:07):
on these national issues, and he usually says, I'm going
to focus on what's happening locally, and locally, a lot
of people are worried about crime and public safety, and
so that has been a big focus. He also declined
to try to raise taxes on property owners this year,
saying that the city needed to solve some of their

(31:28):
budget issues complete some audits, try to find out where
they could cut programs and just be fiscally responsible, and
it is a start. Contrast with people like the candidate
for New York City Mayor Mondami, seems to be a
just die hard socialist. And we also see on the

(31:48):
other side here in Houston, Harris County Judge Lena Hidalgo
wanted to get voters to approve a tax increase so
that they could expand a daycare program for indigent families
that was launched a couple of years ago using federal
relief dollars. And so, you know, there is that big contrast.

(32:09):
And as you mentioned, Harris County Commissioner's Court, which is
where Houston is located, voted last week to add taxpayer
dollars to a fund that provides legal services for immigrants
who are facing deportation. That's not something new. They actually

(32:30):
launched that program in twenty twenty and have spent at
least eight million dollars as far as I can sell effort.

Speaker 3 (32:37):
Wow.

Speaker 6 (32:38):
Yeah, but what's interesting too is that this year, you know,
they were complaining that they had a budget shortfall. They
did cut several departments, and they have a kind of
a hiring freeze in place right now, but did vote
to add those funds to that service. And I think
there's a lot of residents and tax fairs who are

(32:59):
very con learned about that, especially since the county increased
our taxes just last year, and they're not too happy about,
you know, whether or not the county is paying for
these services. And there's some questions emerging about whether or
not the county's law enforcement the jail is participating in

(33:21):
a program that helps ICE identify illegal immigrants who have
been charged with crimes, which is the target of the
administration's deportation efforts.

Speaker 2 (33:33):
Okay, so Lena Adalgo wanted to raise taxes earlier this year.
As you pointed out, she's spent eight million dollars over
the last few years on lawyers for illegal immigrants. Part
of what's so remarkable about that is for the last
four years we weren't really enforcing immigration laws that all
came along in the past year, right, which begs the question,

(33:54):
I mean that would be you know, six or seven
million dollars there that they spent. I guess my question
is on.

Speaker 6 (33:59):
What, Yeah, that's you know, that is an important question.
We do know that Harris County no longer participates in
that federal program that helps ICE identify defendants in the
jail system who should be deported and who have been
accused of serious crimes. There is a new state law

(34:21):
that requires the county to participate in that program. It
doesn't take effect until January, but there are some serious questions.
Another outlet reported just a few days ago that among
the inmate population in Harris County, which can be ten
thousand inmates or more, they about sixteen percent of those

(34:43):
The listing for them is we don't know what their
legal status is. We don't know if their citizens are
not and that's a big concern. And we're wondering is
the Sheriff's office asking are they trying to verify whether
or not these people are here legally? And we've seen
plenty of crimes, heinous crimes committed in the Houston area

(35:05):
by illegal immigrants, of course, the highest profile one being
the murder of the twelve year old girl, Jocelyn nunger
A last year. She was strangled and left him left
in a bayou or near a byou there at Houston,
and the two men who are being prosecuted for that
crime were Venezuelan nationals who had come into the country

(35:27):
illegally during the Bided administration. Were apprehendred and then re
released into the country.

Speaker 2 (35:33):
All right, Because of Texas Senate Bill SB four, it
prohibits cities from having sanctuary policies. Houston is not considered
to be a sanctuary city now. It's still the human
trafficking capital of North America. I just can't help but
wonder why would anybody want to encourage more of that
sort of thing. What is it about the human trafficking

(35:54):
and the human smuggling that Lena Hidalgo liked so much?

Speaker 6 (35:59):
Well, you know, I can't speculate about what Lena Hidalgo
likes or doesn't like. I can only look at her
for policy preferences, and you know, there's always been a
big push from her under her leadership for providing these
services services for immigrants in the community. We do have
high numbers of immigrants in the community and a lot

(36:23):
concerned about what's happening in the criminal element there and
what to do about it. But I think it is
a by part is an issue we have seen, you know,
an outcry, and that's why you have people like John Wittmeyer,
who's a Democrat, talking a lot about public safety and
what we need to do to make sure we keep

(36:44):
the community safe. Whether it's funding our law enforcement, uh,
making sure that we're we're actually prosecuting people, we're not
releasing people on frequent bonds who you know, are in
and out of the system constantly, especially those are being
charged with those violent crimes that put us all at Rose.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
Well. Earlier this year there was an effort to what
was it, the uh, the petition to unseat Mayor Whitmeyer,
and it really didn't seem to go anywhere. So I
don't think it's I don't think he's as unpopular as
people want us to believe he is. Holly, we got
to run. Holly Hansen is her name? Follow her on ax.
Check out her work at the Texan Dot News. I'm
Kenny Webster. In about five or ten minutes, I'm gonna

(37:25):
be on Newsmax with Chris Salcedo and Joe PAGs talking
about John Cornyn's Super pac. Tune into that, but then
of course, come right back here for more talk radio
on KPRC Am nine to fifty. We'll be back bright
and early tomorrow morning for more of what you bought
