(00:43):
Wrestling podcast. We've got the anarchistAshton Blake. What's going on, man,
I'm doing fine, brother one. It's an honor to be on this
podcast. This is actually like mysecond podcast, so well appreciated. Well,
who's the first podcast if you don'tmind me asking, It was actually
like this little podcast from this littlesupporter of mine, uh the two two
(01:07):
five podcast with Chris Chambers. Wetalked about where I've been coming up in
the wrestling business and what BAN shouldbe looking forward to. Chris Chambers Hm,
I don't have nothing good to sayabout him, so I'm just gonna
move on. Uh he he is. Uh, you know, got on
(01:30):
my bad side as of late, you know. He yeah, you know
he blamed me for coal Off losingthe title. Now coal Off Ranish Trap
the breed one shut him up.That's all had happened. So, I
mean, you know, what elsecan I say? But but asking this,
it's an honor to have you onthe show. Uh. You know
me and you met for the firsttime about two or three weeks ago with
(01:51):
the Mountain Man Uh fundraiser and um, you and your dad were there,
Austin James, you tagged him withthem and uh and then ever thanks,
So what was your experience your firstexperience like in dc W. I'm just
gonna start there and then we'll gofrom some other stuff. I gotta ask,
Well, well, my experience indc W was was actually very awesome.
(02:17):
It was an honor to come outthere, put in my time and
do it for a good man,a legend in the Gulf Coach wrestling business,
Mountain Man, and I hope Imade him proud. It was an
honor tagging with Austin James and basicallyhalf breed my dad and cousin Almer.
(02:44):
It was. It was very fun. The crowd loved it, and I
hope Mountain Man loved it because MountainMan actually helped me a little bit in
training and that matches for him.Yeah. I thought it was a good
night everybody coming together and doing thatshow. It was very fun and was
(03:07):
glad to have it happened out.Ashon, I want to get into a
little something here. How did youwere you like a wrestling fan growing up?
Like, give us a little backstoryin yourself. Well, Uh,
I am a second generation superstar.Uh my dad who is half breed.
He has wrestled all along the GulfCoast and around the world. Um.
(03:30):
I was born watching him wrestle, and I wanted to follow when the split
steps and start start here in theGulf Coast and try to work my way
up to try to get to likeAwa w r Oh or wherever I could
go to. But most of mytraining came from him and my uncle uh
(03:58):
T Wolf, who is the chiefof the Halma nation in Hana, Louisiana.
They trained me, and I justhope I'm making them proud by going
to going to different promotions, givingmy time and trying to prove myself to
the fans and to the promoters thatI'm someone that they need on their roster.
(04:26):
And that's the best way to doit, man, And you know,
reach out. Just try to getas many places as you can.
Now, did you have any inspirationsgrowing up? Like did you watch WWF
or ww at the time, becauseI'm sure, what are you fourteen fifteen
years old? I am actually eighteeneighteen. Okay, there we'll go,
and knew was around that area.Just yeah, I know, man,
(04:46):
I know you hey, and that'sgood. It's good to get in the
business young. But like, didyou have any beside your dad? Because
I mean, I've I've been watchingHalfrey my gosh, I'm not even gonna
give my age away here. I'vebeen watching for a long time and uh,
you know, it was good seeinghim at the Mountain Man Show.
But did you did you have anyfavorites like growing up with wwear or anything
(05:10):
like that? Growing up, Iused to watch a lot of daywe Um.
My favorite used to be Triple H, Sean Michaels Um Kane Um,
Let's see who else? Oh?Actually, William Regal as well. Oh
(05:33):
yeah, William Regal very good technicianin the ring. A lot of people
you know, talked about his wrestlingstyle, which I consider his wrestling style
one of the most brutal wrestling stylesin wrestling. Uh he's uh, he's
very good at what he does.Um but yeah, now when did you
get your start? When did youhave your first match? Um? My
(05:58):
first match actually started in I believetwo thousand and eighteen in Killing, Mississippi
at the old Rack and Roll PoolHall. It was a benefit show for
an EPW. It was an oldpromotion that Perfection Sean Black used to run,
(06:21):
and it was it was like alittle Battle Royal. They put me
under a mask I used to goas Mystic for people who didn't know who
I was back then. Um soI was in the Battle Royal. It
was actually me T Wolf, halfBreed, Justin Stone, J L Three,
(06:48):
Steve O'Malley and I Believe Perfection SeanBlack as well. And little did
I know that the last two wasgoing to be me and my dad and
uh so, and apparently I actuallywon the match. And I was actually
(07:09):
shocked at that moment because I didn'tknow what to expect because it was my
first match, and what what reactionI was going to get with the crowd.
But the crowd hated me, whichI like when people hate me.
(07:31):
Don't you just love when people hateyou? Oh dude, you know.
Um somebody asked me one time,They're like, you don't like getting cheered?
I said no, I said,I love getting booze. I love
hearing people just hate on me.I mean, I'll just a sidebar here
for just second. I mean, just past weekend, I had a match.
You know, it's my second match. Yeah, I'm not I'm not
(07:53):
a match. I'm not a wrestler. I'm a manager. Okay, But
for some reason we didn't have it. One of our tag team partners,
which I'm pretty sure you're familiar with, Ashton Spears, he was not he
he was not able to make it. So me and Joey Abel took on
the Pharaoh of Funk and Jesse Daltonand everything was going good, you know,
(08:15):
until Pharaoh got in and started clothesliningme, and then I had but
I had a backup plan. Ihad my powder in my sock and I
pulled it out and threw it inPharaoh's face while the referee wasn't looking.
And then I pushed the referee intoPharaoh, and Pharaoh stunned him, gave
him the stunner, and I knewI had him right where I wanted him
to then because he tried to coverthe ref How dumb is that? Wow?
So I picked up my paddle andI was gonna, you know,
(08:39):
knock him in the head with it, and he ducks it and then he
hits me with a stunner and aand the audacity of this crowd. As
soon as I get the stunner puton me, and Pharaoh pens me dumb
luck, by the way, pensme, these crowd starts cheering like they
wanted to see me get hurt. That's why I hate it. That's want
(09:00):
I hate here and cheers. Theywas cheering me getting my ass whooped.
That's not a good thing. It'snot. I mean, I was mad,
but uh, moving on, Imean, yeah, I'd rather be
booed because all these people that comeinto these buildings, they're out of shape,
they're filthy, they're sweatbillies, andI can't stand them. I don't
(09:22):
want them cheering. I don't wantthem lifting their filthy hands and clapping in
cheer for me and throwing all theirnasty germs all over the building. I'm
a brilliant one. They should bebowing down when I come in at the
presence that I am giving them atthat point in time. But they can't.
Nope, nope. So I justI don't want to hear them cheer
(09:43):
me. They can boom me allthey want, but I don't want to
hear them cheer because I'm I'm wayabove their level. Let me actually say
it is the people in Mississippi don'tknow what hygiene is, yes don't.
They don't know what a toothbrushing toofaces, they don't know what they bore,
So we're shampoo or a conditioner isjust like whenever I'm in Mississippi,
(10:09):
all I smell is a sewer.I hate that smell. It gives me
chills when I even think about Mississippior Alabama. Those people, you know,
I mean, they actually think relationshipswith their cousins is okay, I
mean, that's just wrong. Mygoodness. You know, I was at
(10:31):
a show one time, and amatter of fact, I believe it was
a dc W show, and Isaw a brother and a sister sitting on
the front row and they had weddingrings on. I guess they were married,
you know, just like, wow, that really does happen here.
Yeah, but but to clear mymind speaking of Ashton Spears, and there's
(10:52):
another person I want to ask youabout. First off, what is your
thoughts on Ashton Spears and how manytimes have you been around Ashton? Uh?
Growing up around Ashton speares Um.He he also he he has a
big ego, but that's just him. Yeah, but big is not the
(11:16):
word. I grew. I grew. I grew up around Aston speares Um.
He always took care of me.But whenever it was time to whenever
it was show time, it's businesstime. It's time to take care of
business. It's time to put ona show. He didn't care what the
(11:37):
fans had to say about him.He just wanted to be himself. And
he is probably one of the mostunderrated people in the Gulf Coach Wrestling area.
I'll agree with you because you knowI managed Ashton. It battles on
and uh, you know Ashton,he can go out, but he's one
(11:58):
of the best are in ring performersI've seen. So I like Ashing a
lot. What about mister Chris Black. What's the relationship like, mister Black,
Oh, mister Chris Black. Who. Um, I had a rivalry
Chris Black. Basically I always saythat, I always say this to people,
(12:20):
but Chris Black is one of mygreatest rivals. UM. I wrestled
for SCW and uh, me andhim had a couple of rounds, like
five or six matches. Um.But the first time running into Chris Black,
(12:43):
um, our first match was abar show and uh, if I
believe I was semi main event,it was. It was me versus Chris
Black. So I'll walk out peoplebooing me as always and then here comes
(13:07):
Chris Black. The fans absolutely loveChris Black, and at the time I
was still kind of I was stillkind of green of being a bad guy
because they turned me like the showbefore, and so the bell rings,
(13:33):
we lock up. The first thingthat he does is bring it to a
corner and chops me. Chris Blackloves to chop. But I learned my
lesson that night. Never disrespect ChrisBlack. Um, and don't and don't
(14:03):
take a toss for granted because ifyou if you mess up, he'll get
you with one again. But evenmuch harder. It's so true with Chris.
Now, I've been around Chris enoughto know that you know, you
don't play with Chris and you don'tdisrespect the business around Chris either. He
will He'll make you pay for that. Yeah, Me and him had a
(14:26):
couple of matches after, But themost memorable match for me was I believe
three months ago in Killing Mississippi.Um. We were we were doing a
show and we had a Battle Royaland the rules was the last two last
(14:54):
two contestants of the Battle Royal. We're going to be going on later on
that night for the SCW's Southern HeritageChampionship. So the last two participants was
actually me and Chris Black. Andlittle did I know that that earlier on
(15:18):
at the venue, UM, hetold he told my parents that he's he's
gonna make me go over in thatmatch. But I had no idea because
he told me that he was goingover, which I respect because because he
(15:41):
is a veteran and it's still notmy time yet. And during that match,
he was setting up for his littlebad new Pilo driver. So he
gets me in the pile driver position, he tells me, he tells me
push him into the left. Iwas like, okay, so I push
(16:04):
him into the reff. Reff goesdown and here comes my manager, Well,
Vinnie the Narrow If people don't knowwho that is, another one of
the great greatest managers. I'm I'mnot I'm not trying to full tip,
I'm not trying to pull out yourhair here, but he is another one
(16:29):
of the one of the great wrestlingmanagers on the Gulf Coast. UM.
So he comes in with some brassknuckles. He tells me stay down.
So Chris gets up and and thenVinnie gets them with the brass knuckles and
push me on top. And atthe time I was like, okay,
(16:49):
he's gonna kick out. The refereecounts one, two, I'm like,
okay, he's going to kick outnow. Then the ref is down for
three. I was like what, like, is that supposed to happen?
But I was like a roller coastof emotions that night because it was my
(17:11):
first title win UM and like Ididn't know how to react. I was
like, I was kind of intears and kind of like very happy because
I worked so hard for this, but it was an honor to share the
ring and share that moment with anythe narrow and uh with Chris Black in
(17:36):
that ring because Chris Black actually broughtme intesse W and he wanted to see
me improve and I did just that. Man, it is awesome. H
Yeah. And speaking of SCW,that's I have not been able to make
it there yet. I'm going toyou eventually, And every time I would
(18:00):
get a chance to go, I'meither booked or somewhere else, you know.
But I'm waking my way down there. Now. We talked about venture.
Now tell me a little bit aboutyour upcoming dates. So where are
some of the promotions you're going toand some of the promotions you'd like to
work with. I love working withthat cwum. Like you said, I'm
(18:22):
gonna try to venture out. I'mgonna try to get into Battle Zone Championship
Wrestling. I'm probably gonna get backto Diamond Championship Wrestling if I can.
I am wrestling for the Southern WrestlingOrganization s WO out of Poplarville. They
(18:45):
actually have a date on October ninthat the poplar Ville Storm Shutter or Fairgrounds,
whatever you like to call it.October ninth, and on October two,
I'm actually doing a benefit show forthis for this family there I belieither
(19:07):
a mom or grandmother passed away.So I'm gonna be there and killing Mississippi
doing it for this for those twoExcuse me. Uh, I'm gonna be
doing that show for those people. And I'm looking to fill in more dates
(19:29):
because I'm ready to travel. I'mready to I'm ready to make more towns.
I'm looking to get booked in Ohioat Future Great Wrestling because yeah,
it's gonna be it's gonna be along haul because Future Grade Wrestling is out
of Ohio. Um, there's thisthere's this one guy, me and him
(19:53):
and going back and forth on socialmedia. He does a leather face type
gimmick egoes as evil Nate Hewitt. So I mean here, I've been going
on and off on social media tosee if f F GW could get their
(20:18):
eyes on me and try to workout of deal so I could go up
there and uh Nate Hewitt for likea couple of shows. And I'm gonna
try to get to pro Wrestling twoto five, Elevate Pro and probably sometime
soon while Wildcat Wrestling. That soundsgood, dude, that sounds like a
(20:44):
lot of good deals. Now we'remissing to wrap this up before we do.
This is usually where I'm gonna giveyou the floor. I don't care
what you gotta plug. You canplug whatever you want. Even if you
got cookies to say, you cansell them right here. Man, the

you back on. The journey's justbeginning, and you know you're young in
your career. But like I said, before we get out here there,

what's your end game in wrestling? My end game is to learn as much
as I can, pass it downto further generations to come and possibly run
run a promotion myself, and I'lltry to make it big into this wrestling
