Yes, I am the host withthe most Baby, I am Brandon Turner,
(00:44):
and I've got a very special guestfor me this week. I'm telling
you right now for King of Russellingpodcast, this is somebody I've been trying
to get on for a while. He is an instant classic. But not
only that, he is the brandnew Capital Set Champion at Battles one,
none other than the Instant Classic himself, Geo Savage. What's going on,
(01:06):
Geo Baby? Thank you for theone introduction. I'm good. How about
you, man, I'm gonna dogreat, but I'm gonna just say this.
The other night you won a prettymuch is called a feast and fire
deal, okay, And you wonthe number one contendership for the battles On
(01:27):
Capitol C Championship, which is thetop of the mountain for battles On Championship
wrestling. And the other night youyou cashed that championship in against the Nightmare
Jeremiah, which you're braver than mebecause I wouldn't have went out there with
him, and you surprised the worldby winning the championship. Dude, what
(01:49):
was that feeling like? And thatcrowd, I mean, the battles On
crowds hard anyway, but they lovedGeo Savage and they popped big for you
the other night. What was thatfeeling like when you've heard that three count.
First, I didn't know it happened. I thought he kicked out,
but he did, he did,and so now I'm going the champion.
(02:13):
And when that crowd pop, Ijust knew that weren't gonna pop because it
was just a long night anyway,And like from the from the locker room,
you didn't hear anything. But whenI came up there and they got
that one, two or three, they came alive again. Dude. I
was in the locker room that night, and when you pinned him, I
(02:34):
couldn't hear nothing. I mean,it was just so loud out there.
They were they. I mean, which anybody that's been to a bows On
Championship Wrestling, which is in Raleigh, you know, mostly Mississippi, Braxton,
Raleigh, whatever, that crowd. If they don't like you, they
don't like you. If they loveyou, they're behind you fully and and
Geo Savage is one of the tome, probably one of the top tier
(03:00):
talents at bottles On Championship Wrestling.Has proven now because you're the Capital C
Champion. I appreciate that. Man. I wish I had that type of
confidence in myself. I look ateverybody else on the on the roster and
that's just all amazing talents. Ohthere is amazing talent on bc w's roster.
(03:22):
But my thing is when I lookin the mirror every day I'm looking
there and I see Geo Savage. That makes me feel good when I walked
out the door. Now, now, Gia, I'm gonna say this,
and I've been saying this for along time. I mean, me and
you first met at Paul Wright showback in McGee Mississippi at the church.
(03:46):
Yeah all right. So the firsttime I saw you, you teamed with
which, now, if anybody knows, I'm breeding one baby one of my
clients, you tag team with macDaddy Dudds, who is you know,
probably one of the greatest of alltime. And I really hit off.
I mean I was. I wassold on you then, and I mean
(04:08):
I came up to you that nightand told you, did I not you
did? You did? But Imean, what was it like teaming with
one of the greatest of all timein mac Daddy Dud's baby and mac Daddy's
great man. To be honest,I thought that Daddy had what's gonna suck
all the work? No lie,But then I looked at its light real
(04:31):
I like, man, he's prettygood. And then I found out that
he's been in it for like fifteenyears. I'm like, what man,
okay? And no one man isgood? Hey man, he already has
the charisma of the persona and everything. Oh dude, mac Daddy can make
you laugh no matter what he is, just he's He's one of those characters
(04:53):
that's just hilarious. I love him. One of the kind he really is.
And you know, uh, magDaddy grew up with Chuck Taylor and
Ricochet and trained with it. Yeah, so you know he's been around the
block. But at the same time, that was my first introduction to you.
And I remember Paul telling me,like, you don't know who Geo
(05:15):
Savage is. I was like,no, but I do now, and
I love him. Man, that'swhat's up. I'm glad that you still
remember me. I'm glad Dad Imade some type of impression. Oh dude,
man, you've been making the impressionon me for a while. And
honestly, when I saw you thefirst time I saw you, and my
(05:36):
wife, as a matter of fact, because she's a hard critic on professional
wrestling, she'll say she ain't notgonna sugarcoat anything. She's just gonna tell
you if it sucks, it sucks. But from day one she has touted
Geo Savage and she just I mean, because dude, all right, not
trying to sound like I'm a boy. What's the word I'm looking for here,
(06:00):
like I'm loving on you or anything. But at the same time,
I mean, you got a perfectlook. You are a good looking guy,
you got the build, and yougot the charisment that is professional wrestling
right there in itself. Well, thank you, man, I appreciate that.
But what I do want to knowis since you know, like I
(06:24):
mean, like I say, youknow, twenty nineteen, that's when I
that's when I found out about GeoSavage. But why don't you tell me
a little bit about yourself? Man? Did you grew up a wrestling fan?
And how did you find your wayinto the wrestling business? Oh?
Man, it's a crazy story.So, I mean, I grew up
in Charleston, Mississippi. Uh,as a kid, I've always watched wrestling.
(06:50):
I always try to stay up pastmy bed time just to watch it,
try some get with my dad,you know, but I always eventually
get caught, get sent to myroom and all that type of stuff.
And uh what really, Well,I would say, who who really inspired
me to be a wrestler? Isa shellon Benchman Day won? And then
(07:15):
the theme song Ain't no stuff forme? Yeah? Hey, hey,
there was my workout song. Istarted working out. I started Donna push
ups and crunches every day up inlike seventh grade, you know what I'm
saying. And I was like, hey, I want to be a wrestler.
I don't know who wrestlers around here. I don't know how to get
(07:36):
into, but I'm gonna get into. And so UH has started this,
uh this little job and UH afriend he was up in high school.
He just put me on, youknow, just trying to you know,
hip out the community and all thisstuff. He was a wrestler as well.
And all throughout my middle school andhigh school, I was trying to
(08:01):
I was just trying to say,let me become a wrestler. Helped me
become a wrestler. You're like Nagy, you're too small. You're too small,
go to school, go to college. You don't want that. Ask
him again, Hey, I wantto be a wrestler. Na man,
you don't want it. You don'twant to go. Say you somebody to
go get you a real job.I asked him again twenty fourteen, Hey
(08:28):
I need to get on He saidno, and then, uh, I've
in twenty eighteen, I was Iwent to a show now. I was
like it was no, it wasa pro wrestling, you go show,
and I was trying to get onthere. And I asked them about,
(08:50):
you know, about potentially becoming awrestler. Not talk to them, talk
to them, and before I decidedto pull a trigger on them, I
said, let me talk to Russellone more time, but shout out to
Midnight Rooster. He's the one whoput me on. That's the guy,
that's my guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the last show. Yeah
he was there. Yeah, butI talked on one last time. You're
(09:15):
like, oh, man, youdon't need to do it. And so
I just one day we were justin like the local restaurant called Mister Jippy.
They said the best chicken in Mississippi. But who you see, know
Darren, you see because he didn'tseen me in a long time. You're
like, gee that you Yeah, you're ready to become wrestling Now. I'm
(09:37):
like, oh, okay, okay, because back then I would probably like
shoot a buck sixty buck seventy, and now I'm like two twenty five now,
so we're like, hey, let'sdo it. Let's go to work.
And so since twenty eighteen, I'vebeen trying to get my feet wet
(09:58):
someone everywhere. Well, I mean, you've made your way around, and
I want to get to your tagteam partner in just a minute. But
I'm what I want to get intois like that's right, Muddy Waters baby,
one of the most part I'm gonnatell you something, might as well
just get into r j W.I love r j DEBI all right.
He lived not too far from me, okay, and I mean, like
(10:22):
with within twenty minutes of my house. And I love r j W.
And I thought I thought it wasa perfect fit for you to to be
Muddy Waters. Y'all have jailed welltogether. Both are young in the business,
really showing out now. And mything with it is is y'all are
really starting to expand you're expanding yourself, all right. I remember the first
(10:46):
time I saw you, which wasat Paul's show, which was a was
a good show. And then youstart coming to bows On, which you
know, I'm pretty much figured inwith that um at bows On, And
I mean, I'm just like,if I had a company, I would
love to build it around Geo Savage. I mean, because like I said,
(11:09):
you got the look, you gotthe charisma, you got everything.
I mean, there's nothing lacking there. The only thing that is lacking in
Geo Savages. He could be apart of Brille and inque That's the only
thing. Oh see, I thinkneeds to come a part of muddy waters.
You know what I'm saying, tomake him collid, to collaborate.
(11:31):
You know what I'm saying, worksomething out. Hey, you never know,
Hey, that could that could work. You know r j W has
already been on the losing end ofBrillian Ink. You know he learned the
tactics that night. Oh man,he had that. Now I just had
to show him the light. Ohokay, okay, okay. But uh,
(11:52):
you've been you kind of branched out. You've been to Combat Sports Pro,
which you know is one of thetop promotions in Florida. I mean
you've been traveling with uh mister indieprofessional wrestler himself, Ray Fury. Uh,
you've done a lot. I meanI love Ray. I hadn't got
to be around Ray as much lately, you know, except for like the
(12:15):
BIW shows and stuff like that. But what is what is Ray taught to
you since you've been traveling and stuffwith him? Man, Mostly he's been
telling me about more so about merchsales and how to stand it, fresh
myself out, make myself more valuable. And like, yeah, I understand
(12:39):
that, but I don't want tosee out his moves, Like I don't
want to do all his moves, you know, still just still his brain
just like sending around wrestling, andI get where he's coming from. You
know, like the moves will come. But you want to work with your
character. You want to work yourmerchant that you want to work and your
(13:00):
appearance or your promos and everything.I'm like, man like, let me
just get some of your your athleticism. You're a wisdom or something. I
mean, Ray has been on he'sbeen on the charts, and you're right,
he's right. Though. The tobe honest with you, the first
thing in professional listening is promoting yourself. Okay, promoting yourself, getting your
(13:24):
merch out there, getting all that. The moves will come. But dude,
I mean you're already You're already makingthose moves too. And by the
grace of God, I'll say that, I mean, you're doing you're doing
things right now. It's like everytime I see you at a show,
it's just like you're getting bigger andbigger. It's just it's gonna take time.
(13:45):
But Jew Savage, in my opinionon the independent scene right now,
if I had to pick, youknow, three people that we're gonna be
top tier talents you know who myfirst one's gonna be. It's gonna be
Vladimir co Off. That that guy. He works his asshole. I know
a lot of people don't like himbecause he's he's a bad guy, but
(14:07):
he works his ass off. He'svery talented in the ring and he can
go. Ray Fury definitely up there. I mean, Ray Fury one of
the top talents in the independent scenearound here, and he's he's expanding himself
everywhere. And then I look atsomebody's got so much potential to be one
(14:28):
of the top stars on the independentscene and beyond. And that's the instant
classic himself, Geo Savage. Baby, Man, there's a lot of pressure
right there. I mean, hey, you gotta be apart. But I
mean, you remember back when wefirst met, what was the first thing
(14:48):
I said, you gotta come onmy podcast, right right right? And
here we are would almost two yearslater, and you're finally gone. You're
finally on the podcast. Finally, but Savage has come to Kingcast. That's
(15:09):
right, baby, I mean,And and you know it's like I told
you, he's like, man,I don't know about doing a podcast.
I'm like, dude, it's justlike me and you talking on the phone.
That's that's what it is. It'snot it's not like you're dealing with
Walter the worm, you know, asking you all these questions why he's stuttering?
You know, it's just Hey,that's my guy, man, that's
(15:31):
my gal. Now, now letme just let me just clue you in
on something here real quick. People, we were was it widow Fest that
we were at or was it thecage match with JD and Vladimir? I
think it was that show. Ithink it was that show. Walter was
there right now, Walter, youknow, he hit. I mean he
was getting so excited. I meanit looked like he looked like a teenage
(15:52):
boy looking at his teacher or somethingwhen you came in. And do you
remember that interview and what I wasdoing behind the camera. Oh, I
remember you made me break man andWalter he looked so pissed though, you
(16:15):
know, but he was so happythat you did that interview with him,
you know. Uh, speaking ofWalter, Sorry, Walter, I didn't
mean to bury you. I meanI couldn't bury you no more than you've
already been buried. But anyway, you know, but Geo, I mean
dude, what are some of yourhighlights so far in your young career.
(16:36):
Oh man, let's see uh brandingand defending North Delta Championships United States Champion.
Uh. Well this this promotion hasbeen shut down, but it's our
the Wrestling Council's Tag Team Champion,so previous former champion of that uh,
(17:00):
at w's Heavyweight Champions and now BattleZones Capital City Champions. Oh oh oh,
and twin eighteen, breakout start ofthe year for North Delta Championship wrestler.
Well, I'm gonna just it's beena while ride. Well, I'm
(17:21):
glad and say this. You're gonnabe the breakout champion of battles On this
year. There ain't no doubt inmy mind. I mean you've made a
very big impact even with the pandemic. You know when we were doing the
Lights Out shows. I mean, you're putting the miles and hours in to
come to battles On and I'm tellingyou, man, it's been a lot
of fun in in uh in thefirehouse, you know for the Lights Out
(17:45):
shows, I thought those were reallythree shows, man. I love that
those shows. My favorite metch waswith Jeremiah, you know he knocked me
out. I mean that ain't nothing, you know. Yeah, I didn't
down though, Hey, dude,I mean you wouldn't there and showed another
(18:10):
night. But I'll just say this, I've I've repped some Jeremiah matches and
b I W I've been around Jeremiaha lot, and I'm gonna just tell
you something that, dude ain't nothingto play with it. I wouldn't want
to meet him in the dark alley, but you went right into that dark
alley and knocked him out and becamechampion your song, and I'll do it
every single time to defend my belt. Speaking of which, when is your
(18:37):
next appearance at Battles on August thetwenty first eight. Oh, you're gonna
be in Richland. Huh, yes, So with Johnny's Flinger coming in,
you're gonna be teaching some giving ussome horror lessons in the wrestling being.
(19:00):
So I'm down. I'm always downfor that, always down to learn.
Oh yeah, I mean, youknow that's another thing too. I've you
know, seen with you over theyears. There's a lot of these people
they get in their head they alreadyknow everything in wrestling. It don't matter
how much you know, you learnedsomething new every day. Great And Johnny
(19:21):
Swinger. I've been around Johnny Swingeruh many times, and I'm gonna just
say this, you know, it'sfun. I've actually had Johnny on the
podcast as well. And Johnny he'sa great yat to just be around.
Yeah, that's what's up. Yeah, Johnny, Johnny's You're gonna learn a
lot of knowledge from Johnny. He'sbeen around. He's very entertaining. I
(19:42):
love watching Johnny. But uh,now let's get back to even just said.
I want to talk about Rooster fora second. Man. Now,
you know, you know Midnight Roosterfor a long time. I got to
meet him at widow Fest this year. Cool guy. Had had a blast
been around him. What's your relationshiplike Rooster? And you know, how
(20:03):
long has he been in the business. Rousse's He's been in the business for
about ten years, maybe ten elevenyears. And uh, basically, like
I just walked into a local friendsand he was like, hey, you
on a job and I like yeah, Like this was when I was like
(20:27):
up in what seven or eighth gradeor something, and he was like you
want a job? Like yeah,he was like, just stack these boxes
up whatever. Okay, started stackingup boxes, just you know, doing
a little odd jobs or whatever. He'll give me like twenty dollars at the
end of the week, and I'mlike, wow, this up. And
(20:51):
then I actually got a job andthey were just paying like a hundred dollars
a week. I'm like, thisain't nothing. I'm thinking this man making
like boocools of money, Like he'sjust giving me twenty dollars, and I'm
like, oh man, it's beena really cool guy from the jump,
you know, and so uh justKevin touched with him and his family,
(21:14):
like me his family and work withhis family and his uncle, uh Noble
Curtis. I mean it's real,it's real. Uh his wrestling name's Big
Done Brote. It like he's broughtme into his family, you know,
and he opened up his restaurant, you know, allowed me to cook for
the people of Charleston. Hey.You know, it's been just been cool
(21:42):
with his family ever since. He'sjust like another coming to me. Man,
it's awesome to hear. You know. There's one more person I want
to ask you about, you know, before we start, you know,
getting to the end here is Iwant to know about five Roe of funk
Pimp. I want to know whatwhat's your thoughts with the pump baby man.
(22:03):
Pharaoh is my god man. I'monly just whenever. He just passing
it on mind, just thinking aboutthe accident that he just had, someone
going over seventy miles per hour andjust just knocking him outside of the road.
Just a blessing to be alive. He needed to change his name to
a miracle or something, because thatwas definitely that dude that wasn't far from
(22:27):
my house. You know. Pharrehwas in my actual my city, Meridian,
and he was leaving it and hehad called me like ten minutes before
that happened, and I didn't getdown. Yeah, I didn't get to
answer it. And then he gothit. And then I talked to him
(22:48):
later on that night and I waslike, dude, you all right and
he's like, yeah, yeah,I'm just a little shaking up, blah
blah. And I said, whohit you? And then he said the
name of part I'm not gonna saythe name of the person that hit him,
but he said that name. Andmy wife was listening and she goes,
I know him. He's one ofour customers. He's an asshole and
then parahs like parrihs like yeah,he was an asshole. And uh but
(23:12):
but you know, uh yeah,Pharaoh was very lucky because I mean,
if you saw that car, you'relike, there was a miracle from above
that he just deal with us todayand like in no pain. I mean,
I know he had like an afractured arm, but that's it and
and that's a blessing. That's ablessing to come out of something like that,
(23:36):
because like I said, I talkedto him that night, I talked
to him the next day or so, and uh yeah, I mean he
was very lucky to be in thecondition he was in. I mean,
I know he was hurt, don'tget me wrong. But at the same
time, it was very blessed tobe in the position he's in because if
you saw the car, you werethinking, damn, how did he survive
(23:56):
that? God no rate? Butuh yeah, Pharaoh, Uh far Row
has been around a long time. He's a pimp, you know, he's
the original pimp. And uh ifyou've ever if you're ever around Pharaoh,
and I mean for ten minutes, you're gonna hear pimp at least twenty times.
Oh yeah, get me a smoke. Are pimp a pimp? What
(24:23):
you're doing? Pimp? Hey,come here? Pimp? Yeah, every
every other word it comes out ofhis mouth, that's pimp. But you
know, I like Old Pharaoh andI like working with him and uh,
you know, doing some stuff withbowles On because Balleson has been in his
family for almost twenty years now anduh, and you know, yeah,
(24:44):
and it's it's just been Uh,it's been fun. I mean he's been
at bottles On since then. Beforethen Billy D mcclan on battles On and
it was Nwa bowles On before Uh, the Williamson's took it over. But
you know, hey, I lovedealing with the battles One. I love
dealing with Diamond. And as amatter of fact, you made your Diamond
Championship wrestling debut not too long ago. Uh how did you feel about that?
(25:07):
And what would you like about?Did you like being at Diamond man?
I loved the crowd. That crowdis so far. I wish I
could I went to They would havesold this month. I mean, well
next month it was just that far. But next one isn't until what September
twenty field. Oh no, no, no, I'll be there tomorrow.
(25:30):
I mean this, well, yeahabout September for the next that one,
but I'll be at the one thisweekend. And oh okay, but I'll
just say this about that crowd thatnight, because I actually had intertwined it.
You know, they cheered you, okay, you were you know,
you're one of those people. Theyliked. The peons out there they put
(25:52):
they booed me and dude, theythrew a chair at me and Matt Daddy
duds out there in the main eventthat night. What. Yeah, these
little kids, man, I toldthem to go find their babysitter and they
just threw a chair. I wasbeing nice to them too, and they
threw a chair at me. Iwas like, Geane had to come out
there and get him because he toldme he says you can't throw stuff at
(26:15):
the wrestlers. I was like, especially a damn chair. Wow. Luckily
mac Daddy was walking away. Itwould have got him in the head because
I ducked it. So but yeah, I'm telling you, man, I
don't know what it is. Imean, I know that their mother is
(26:37):
probably their sister, but I youknow, I don't know if that would
have I don't know why that wouldhave made him upset. I mean that
that's the truth. But uh butyeah, when are you going back to
combat Pro August twenty Yeah you go, baby, you're gonna be down there
and tearing it up. Uh.Well, before we start round, happen
(27:00):
