town this weekend. It was awesome and they.

Might as well be our nieces and nephews, but they're
technically cousins.

Speaker 2 (00:47):
They're tech Yeah, but we're still Auntie and Uncle Jo.
It's your first cousin's kids, yes, and so we play
the Rolevan Uncle George. It's fun though, it's so much fun, Like, yeah,
you and I don't have kids, so it's just fun
like kids around have kids and ten they're.

Speaker 3 (01:00):
Just funny, especially at the age.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah, they're at a fun age. Yeah, they're at a
fun age. They're very independent, but uh but they still
like love to hang out with adults. You know, we're
not like lame. Ye know, I think like, I don't
know what what age? What age do you think kids
think adults are kind of lame? Is that high school
freshman year.

Speaker 3 (01:19):
Eighth or like seventh eighth grade?

Speaker 2 (01:21):
So seventh grade?

Speaker 3 (01:22):
The parents, So I think our niece from this weekend.
We won't say their names.

Speaker 2 (01:25):
But we're holding on. She still she still loves Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:28):
I think maybe one more year she might be like, yeah,
none of you are cool.

Speaker 2 (01:32):
Yeah, adults are boring. Yeah, it was such a fun
weekend at the boat out with the kids through the
football off to the boys and they were jumping off
the boat catching it. It was it was just so
much fun. Always a good time.

Speaker 3 (01:43):
But we are tired.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Being being and and Janet and Uncle George. But it's fun.
It's so much fun. But we are here in the
podcast studio. We've got speaking at family. We've got an
awesome show for you today. A little bit of a
twist here because we're gonna go for family resorts and
compare two of the heaviest hitters in the game, resorts
for families and so but we we had a great

(02:05):
time too. We are going to get out our Saint
Lucia podcast, the Sugar Beach Review. That'll be probably next
next weekend.

Speaker 3 (02:12):
Yeah, it'll probably be next weekend. We're gonna be out
of town next weekend. But yeah, hopefully we'll get it
out Sunday or Monday next week. So and you there
may be one more in between that, but we'll see.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
So yeah, no, we are going to do one more.
We are probably gonna get one out. So we're gonna
start a new series. So we're gonna have like little
mini podcasts throughout the week, at least go to one
a week. And it's just gonna be straight travel tips.
We'll give you like a five minute travel tip. Could
be something going on in the news, how to handle something,
just great information to know if you're a frequent traveler,

(02:46):
you know, to make your travels easier, smoother, and all
that good jazz. So be on the lookout for that.
We'll drop that on Humpday. We'll call it Humpday travel
Tips or something Wednesday.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Oh Wednesday, I thought you're gonna do like travel Tip
Tuesday or oh.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
That's Thursday, We're gonna do travel Tip Tuesday.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
It's just me Tuesday or Thursdays travel.

Speaker 2 (03:02):
Tip too, or both. You never know, so stay tuned. Subscribed.
Speaking of subscribers, we have to give some mad shout
outs here. You guys are incredible. We are incredibly blessed
to have just an amazing podcast audience that we have.
And you know, a great way to support the show
is always, guys, if you're loving the content is drop
a five star review on Apple. And if you can

(03:22):
say some kind words and just talk about how much
you love about the show, that is great. Just helps
the algorithm. And then obviously you can book with us
where zero for your traveling and see you work with
the Cribbean queen right here herself, Janet, and we got
to give we gotta get some love here. We'll got
some shout outs here what we got Yes, so.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
We have three so bear with us. So Mel Corey
wrote five stars bene worthy content. We found your podcast
after booking our twenty ath the anniversary trip with the
local travel advisor, I was trying to find YouTube videos
about the resort we chose, stumbled upon you guys, and
it was game over. My husband. I bench all of
your content regarding our particular resort. Hi it's l our Capcana,
which great, great, great, And now I listened to your

(03:58):
episodes regularly because I just can't get it out. I'm
already mentally planning where we want to go next based
on your recommendations. Just love listening to all your tips
and tricks. Thanks for a great show and for putting
in all the work to do the show. I really
appreciate it. Would love to hear future episodes on cruises
versu all inclusive resorts.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Oh you know, we have been talking so funny. First
of all, thank you so much for the five star
of you what what was the way? We don't have
the name, but the user nameamel Corey, mel Corey. Thank
you so much for the love. We're glad we're joined
the content. Interesting you say that our very first podcast.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Ever was cruises Verse.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
This is this goes back. We've been doing this for
gosh seven years now. It's crazy where our podcast is
seven years old and in twenty eighteen, I think it
was eighteen. Our very first podcast was comparing an all
inclusive to a cruise and we might have to bring
that one back I think we brought it back once,
maybe in episode two hundred or something, I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Yeah, well, it's a great weirds and we will bring
that back because we have We're not going to quite
tell you yet, but our travel in August is a
little crazy and so that will be very fitting to
do sometime after that.

Speaker 2 (05:02):
So yeah, I mean, I think people listen to our
Virgin Voyages reviews. I think they're going to know we're
gonna lean probably, but it's new. But I it's not
for everybody. Like there's people that based on your travel,
you know you like to cruise, and we're going.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
To go through that too, Yes, but I am going.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
I know you're going on a big cruise, yes, and
I'm not. And I'm incredibly I don't want to know
about it.

Speaker 3 (05:22):
We're not gonna we're not gonna talk about it yet,
but to fill the beans.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
And I don't want to not beouts filling the beans.
I'm not happy. I'm not going.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Well, you could have gone.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I know I had first or refusal, said I didn't
said I couldn't go because I got a lot of
stuff going on. Should have went. Now I'm angry. I'm
mad at my I'm mad at myself. That's why I'm
mad at I'm mad at me and that's the worst part. Like,
and you're just like I have I know, I know.

Speaker 3 (05:42):
Okay, next up? Okay, So this is h j U
y TV b f T so I don't know what
that means. But since five stars Saint Lucia, I'm going
to Saint Lucia and a few and it's amazing. So
thank you for the review. We love it.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Oh, I love that. Thank you so much.

Speaker 3 (05:58):
Five stars, So Sam forty four, great podcast, great travel services.
So glad my internet research for finding an AI resort
took me to this podcast as well as your YouTube.
Based on listening to quite a few episodes watching some
of your content, I decided to reach out and book
a trip. Thanks for all the help with that and
creating content that really helped me find what I was
looking for. Yes, I believe that is Sam, who we

(06:19):
just booked recently. So thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Oh Sam, You're the man. Thank you so much. We
really appreciate it. Thank you guys so much. I go
so far because it's like weird, you know, the algorithms work.
The more people that are doing reviews, the more people
that give it a five star or just type something
out that's really nice. It helps us out a lot.
And thank you also for booking with us. That's the
best way to support the show as well, So thank you,
thang you. Without further ado, let's roll into what we're

(06:41):
going to talk about today, because these are we're covering
the most popular maybe family travel brand out there, right,
so we don't go and talk about what.

Speaker 3 (06:49):
One of them. Yeah, so we are going to be
discussing Beachesnagrill versus Beaches, Turks and Kikos. So there used
to be Beaches with Jo Rios. That is no more.
There will, at least according to Sandals and Beaches Resorts,
there will be another Beaches resort several more coming out
over the next years. But right now, if you're thinking

(07:09):
about planning a trip we thought about you know, let's
just go ahead and like break down a comparison between
these two resorts because it's been a long time since
we've done that and they've all kind of changed. They
they've both changed, they have some new things coming. So
it's going to be a great show.

Speaker 2 (07:26):
Yeah, and we're gonna jump in and compare these resorts
We're gonna get into the nitty gritty details, but real quick,
just high level it, like what is beaches? Why would
people choose Beaches over maybe other family destinations or maybe
even a cruz Like what, yeah, what, so what are
your thoughts on this?

Speaker 3 (07:40):
So Beaches is the family brand with sandals, and I
would say, first off, most people would look at them
just for the locations, you know, if you don't want
to go to like Mexico or Prince Kana, which you
are big heavy hitters, and for destinations for all inclusive resorts,
then Jamaica is another great option. And then Turks and

(08:01):
Caicos people go there for their beaches and I would say,
freak love Turks and just the beach and Negrilla is
also amazing, but we'll get into that later. And I've
did the inclusions, you know, in terms of the water sports,
the kids clubs, especially because you can put your child
if you want to, in a kids club starting I

(08:23):
believe just at six months old.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
Yeah, very so, very young, which is great.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
And they're all certified nannies at Beaches resorts there are
autism certified, so like they have really really great childcare.
And so if you do you want to put your
child while you're on vacation, you know, in the kids
camp to give yourself, you know, a couple of hours
alone time. Like, it's such a great Both resorts are
so great for that. So that and I would say

(08:49):
the water parks, so I agree with you there.

Speaker 2 (08:50):
So, and there's also other great family options and other
destinations like you mentioned a few great ones Dominican as
like High As He was amazing too. But I agree.
I think like the destinations are unique, so Beaches is
in more a little more unique destinations. The water parks
are a big differentiator. Yes, now Hi is Zeva's amazing
water park.

Speaker 3 (09:08):
Yes, So we're not talking about about So we're.

Speaker 2 (09:10):
Talking about these two resorts. So let's jump in here.
I think that sets the table for you know, Beaches
compared to other brands. So where do you want to
start here? There's a lot to cover. What do you
want to start?

Speaker 3 (09:19):
Yeah, so let's just start with you know what it
takes to get there, so you can kind of think
about that time wise. So getting I'm just gonna do
from Miami because you know, people can go from all
over the US, but uh, from Miami, Turks and Caicos
is about a ninety minute flight, and then getting to Jamaica,

(09:39):
which you will fly into Montego Bay. For this it's
about an hour and forty five minute flights, so not
a huge difference there. And then in terms of getting
to the resorts once you land, so Beaches Turks and
Caicos is like a ten to fifteen minute drive and
then Beaches and Grill is about seventy five to ninety

(09:59):
minutes from the airport, depending on traffic. Now I would
say there's definitely from the US, there's a few more
flights in my opinion to Jamaica probably, so depending on
where you're coming from, could be slightly easier to get to.
But also most places in the US have flights that
connect to Miami, so you could easily get to Turks too.

(10:20):
But two things I want to or one thing about
each place that I want to mention, and especially if
you're traveling with children, is both of them do offer
vip arrival and departure services at the airport, and I
hear it a lot people traveling with kids. I know
that that can be very stressful, especially if you're traveling

(10:40):
with small children. So this would definitely could make things
easier for you. But there's Club Mobay at beachsne Girl,
or when you're flying into Jamaica to go to Beachesney Girl,
and that's where someone meets you when you're getting off
the plane holding a sign with your name on it.
They expedite you through immigration and custom Then there's a

(11:00):
lounge while you wait for your transfer to the resort, which.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
Can be very busy. Customs can be extremely busy, especially
in Moniabe.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Yes, now you know if I think it's worth it
or not. I do always do it if it's available,
because I do think it's worth it. But if you
are arriving generally like before eleven am, it's usually not
too busy.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Yeah, you probably don't need to pay for the arrival.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
Right, but the arrival is fifty dollars per person. And
then in Turks and Caicos they do also have something
very similar and that is seventy five dollars per person,
and then they both have departure lounges available with it
gives you the expedite, it'd security screening as well, and
Turks is seventy five dollars per person where and then

(11:43):
the lounge is an additional seventy five per person, and
then the Club Mobay the departure service with the lounge
is thirty five dollars per person, so it's a little
bit more affordable in Jamaica.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
So yeah, I think list in Jamaica if you get
there early, I would probably save the money, unless you
really don't want to wait in line, if you're just
still worried about it, if you want to play it
safe and it's not a huge spend and go and
do it. The departure definitely has value, especially if you're
traveling families. And from what I do remember in the
Montego Bay one is they have like a little video
game lounge.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
Yeah, they have like a whole little kids play area
in the Club of Bay. So that would you know,
it's a great something to do, you know while waiting
for the flight. So yeah, I would definitely recommend that
for sure.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Yeah, great wait and entertain the kids instead of just
like sitting in the airport. I think that's great. And
it is like you have like food options, drink options,
it's clean, it's nice, not that the monte airport's dirty,
but just a little more comfortable, stretch your legs, out
drinks are included, things like that, kind of like puts
a nice cherry on top of the vacation.

Speaker 3 (12:40):
Yes, now we haven't done the departure lounge at Turks,
but we will do it the next time we go there.
But the airport there is very tiny. It's way smaller
than the Montego Bay airport. It's kind of like Saint Lucia,
where island so small. Yeah, the island's outgrown the airport.
Get the departure lounge because it's just crazy and so

(13:01):
hectic in the in the airport.

Speaker 2 (13:03):
While you wit could not agree more Like we just
now leaven from Saint Lucia and remember we left, and
seeing the airport, I'm like, wow, it just shows you
how much tourism has grown in these small islands. People
want to go to that small island destination. Well, the
infrastructure at the airport might not match the demand, but
they're gonna take the flights. They're going to pack in there. Yeah,
and having that lounge was so clutch.

Speaker 3 (13:24):
And I had told my parents, you know, that they
should probably look at this, and then they didn't do
it in Saint Lucia. And then my dad texted me
and said that the airport was a cluster f so
I think you actually did it. But yeah, anyways, so
all right, so let's talk about the size of the resort.

Speaker 2 (13:42):
So these this is probably one of the biggest differences, right.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
Yeah, this is the the biggest differences in these resorts
is the size. So Beaches and a Grill is definitely
more like of like a boutique style feel, but it's
it's not like, you know, super quiet with like nothing
to do. But it only has one hundred and ninety
seven rooms. It's set on twenty acres. There's twenty nine

(14:08):
different room categories. Beaches, Turks and Caicos is massive. It
has eight hundred and fifty nine rooms.

Speaker 2 (14:15):
Oh yeah, it is a big resort.

Speaker 3 (14:16):
Fifty nine room categories. So we're going to give you
kind of like a high level on the room categories.

Speaker 2 (14:23):
I think that's like real quick, so before you continue, like,
I think that's such a big reason why you want
a book with an agent that's been there. That's so like,
these rooms are different, and sandals Is and Beaches notorious
to have all these different room categories, which I like
about it gives you more options, but they are very different.
So it's really impelled.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
To know you know, well, yeah, and it does tell
you like exactly what you're getting. So like just a
quick difference, okay, that as to if you're wondering why
how this is different from like a standard resort. So
let's just take I'm gonna say I Barrow Star Parazo
Maya in Mexico, Okay, which is great kN friendly resorts,

(15:00):
especially for the money. They have like five or six
room categories, and it's like junior suite, junior suite near
the beach, junior suite near pool, and then there's like
a couple of suites, so you don't know like where exactly.
It's a huge complex. You don't know where exactly those
rooms are. It's just somewhere in there. Whereas the difference

(15:21):
in that versus both of these resorts, like you'll know
exactly which village you're in because at Beaches Turks and Caicos,
there are five, well about to be five villages, there's
four now and then beaches and a grill is broken
down into some villages. But also like it tells you

(15:41):
exactly what building these specific room categories are in. So
that's kind of like a big difference where it can
seem overwhelming when you're looking at this, but you will
at least know exactly where you're going to be.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Yeah, I think it says a lot too about the
style of resort. Like I think there's a reason like
Sandals in general has a lot of room categories. Is
like they just have like a different feel like these.
You know, you think about a massive resort, like your
classic resort in Cancun, where the buildings a million stories tall,
all the rooms are very similar. This kind of tells

(16:16):
you like there's little villages and differences, and I like that.
I prefer that it's the way the Caribbean should feel.
You know, we've traveled to both, and we just definitely
prefer like the just more village aspect feel of travel,
right that the resort gives you, versus like a mega
resort with all these rooms and like, you know, there's

(16:37):
nothing wrong with that, Like I think there's like it's
just a feel and I prefer the feel of the
smaller buildings.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Well yeah, but in Beaches Turks though, is I mean
it is very large again, eight and fifty nine rooms
set over ninety five acres. It has a massive footprint.
It so that's prosi and yeah, that's there's pros and
cons to that, I would say, you know, but and
I think it kind of depends on the type of
vacation that you're looking for. So the water park, for example,

(17:05):
at Beaches Turks and Caicos is like forty five thousand
square feet.

Speaker 2 (17:09):
Were so fun, Like we even you and I went
down the slides like just so we're just being kids.
It was so fun.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
Yeah, I think they have at least like nine water slides.
There's a pool with a like swim up soda bar
there for the kids.

Speaker 2 (17:23):
And then I love that, right, Yeah, they have like
I think both of them might have that.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
I know for sure the other one does. It's not
specifically just for kids, which I mean anyone can go
to either of them, but yeah, both of them do. Now,
the water park at Beaches No Grill is eighteen thousand
square feet. The slides are a little bit smaller, whereas
the ones at Turks they have a lot of larger
slides too.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
So Turks like, if you have like, your kids will
be either one. Your kids will be exhausted from all
the fun they're having. But Turks's water park is like
it's in a league of its own. It's so mass
of forty five thousand square feet your kids can just
go have a ball.

Speaker 3 (18:01):
Yes, and there's several food trucks right by it, which
we'll get into, like the dining options and stuff. But
I like that about Turks.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
Yeah, the mac and cheese food trucks awesome. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
So let's talk about yeah, kind of the different or
the different villages specifically at Turks, because I do want
to go through this since there are so many villages
in room categories. So you have the Key West Village,
Italian Village, Caribbean Village, the French village. Right next to
the Caribbean village are what they call some seaside villas,

(18:30):
and then they are building a new village called Treasure Beach.
So one thing I do want to preface is all
of the rooms at Beaches and Grill have been renovated
over like the last ten years, so they have more
of a modern beach fresh vibe. The rooms at Turks
and Caicos are quite dated.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
It's hidden miss right this. Some have been updated, some haven't,
or am I wrong on that?

Speaker 3 (18:56):
Pretty much all of them are very dated, with the
exception of the seaside villas those were those were newer,
like five years ago, so those are better. It's not
that the rooms are like dirty or anything by any means, no,
but they are just quite dated. Something you have to know.

Speaker 2 (19:17):
Kind of like the older Caribbean field, darker wood. Yeah,
things like that. I remember when sandals and beaches had
that older like darker granite, darker wood, just more of
instead of like yeah, just kind of like the twenty
ten Cribbean feel.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
Yeah. I would say though, in my opinion, the rooms
that are in the best shape there right now are
in the Key West Village and the Italian Village. So
that's just my personal opinion. But yeah, for me of
July twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
And for me personally, I think for both of us,
like the room here because there's so much to do
outside of the room. As long as the bed's comfortable
and it's clean, I don't need like the fanciest Grantite
or the fanciest marble. Yeah, like I'm okay, just getting
too cause like this reason shines outside of the room.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Yes, But I just you know, I want to manage
expectations because you know, some people think when you look
at the price tag of this resort beaches Turks and Cacos,
and you're like, oh my gosh, well I could go
to Mexico or something, you know, for half the price.
Very true, and then I'm going to go and have
this super dated room. Yes, that's true, but also which
we've done a whole episode on this, I think like

(20:23):
a year or two ago. You know, not every all
inclusive resort is you know, in destination is like the
same price across the board. Part of what you are
paying for is the destination itself. Turks and Caicos.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Is like an amazing destination.

Speaker 3 (20:38):
It's an amazing destination. Everything there is more expensive. Every
single resort there is more expensive. It is one of
the more expensive islands to visit in the Caribbean. They
have everything imported there, so that is another big reason
as to why you're paying more. Yeah, because it costs
them more to get stuff there.

Speaker 2 (20:56):
So and it feels different though too, you know, like
you feel that when you're there, you feel like you're
on a small island in the Caribbean, and that is
a feel that you can't really replicate in like a
Cancun or something unless you're on Isla. The Islamis has
that small field, which is I think pretty cool. But yeah,
so I still think about that resort, oh, I know, so.

Speaker 3 (21:14):
Just note that that, you know, even though if you're
looking at it and you're like, oh okay, I'm just
you know, going to get in the least expensive room
because this is you know, quite a pricey resort that
would be the Caribbean or French village. You're paying for
the destination, You're not paying for the rest.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
So just I think that's all said. I think that's
all said. And so yeah that the flights are going
to be more importing stuff. It's just a different experience
though too, right, So you know, and I think like
the beach too, like the water, the turquoise water at
beaches Turks is like it is an amazing beach.

Speaker 3 (21:52):
We're going to jump to beaches and I'm just saying, like.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
You know, you are paying for a special beach too. Well,
seven mile Beach is amazing to those are like, I
think that's another big difference. They're both amazing beaches, but
they're both very unique.

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Yeah, but I would say that so Turks and Caicos
is known in the Caribbean as one of the best
diving spots in the Caribbean. Yes, so you're also you
know you're going for that too.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
So absolutely we snoo But in Turks, yes, well we'll
talk about that. Okay, okay, okay, so you're jumping ahead.
I gotta stay on track, keep me on track. I've
had too much caffeine. I'm trying to like put myself
up after family left, get the energy up for the podcast.
And I think I'm over caffeinated right now. Okay, well,
so just shut me up and I'll press the new
button on my bike.

Speaker 3 (22:36):
So a couple of last things I want to say
kind of regarding like the villages and the rooms and
things that you should know. So the Treasure Beach Village
is the newest village that is opening in Turks and Caicos.
They're building it now in March of twenty twenty six.
So it's going to have like its own pool. They're

(22:57):
also going to be building a new Butch's there another
new restaurant in that village called like Painto Dining Hall,
and I believe they're building a movie theater as well.
And then they're also going to be building some multi
bedroom villas like they have built at beaches in a grill.
So yes, Now, just speaking of Turks, you know where

(23:22):
what village did you stay and what's most central to everything?
So I would say that the Italian and Caribbean villages
are the most central to everything. The Key West, if
you're standing on the beach, is off to the far left.
Now there are a couple of restaurants, there's a pool
over there. Also that there is one adults only pool
in the Key West village. So I mean you could

(23:43):
be over there and you still have like plenty of things,
not like you have to walk far to go and
eat or anything like that, but those are the most central.
The French village is at the back of the property
that's closest to the water park, followed by I would
say the Caribbean village then and then the from what
I understand is that the new village, Treasure Beach Village

(24:05):
is going to be at the other opposite end of
the resort from the Keys Village. It's gonna be on
the other end, which the last time I was there,
like that whole area was just yeah, like an open space.
They had like guest house or not guest housing, resort
staff housing. So uh. Now, when looking at Beaches and Grill,
you know, again it's a much smaller footprint. Like we said, yeah,

(24:30):
I would say the Calypso Cove area it would be
like the most quiet because it's kind of off to
the side, and then like the majority of the restaurants
and everything else are going to be like centered around
the other areas of the resort. One big thing you
need to note, especially if you're traveling with anyone who
has mobility challenges, is Beaches and Grill does not have

(24:53):
any elevators.

Speaker 2 (24:54):
So you if you oh, that's a huge different.

Speaker 3 (24:57):
Yes, if you want to guarant tea a ground floor room,
then you need to book a room that says walk out, Okay, yeah,
Now you can make request at the resort because some
of their other rooms, the Grand lux room and then
like the Negrill luxury rooms, some of those can be
on the ground floor, so you need to make a
request for that. But again it's not guaranteed, so if

(25:20):
you truly do have someone with mobility challenges, this might
not be the best option.

Speaker 2 (25:25):
That's a great tip. And you know, so you're looking
at the two resorts, one's going to feel a little
more boutiqueish in comparison to the other. The other one's
going to feel like almost like a theme park in
the Gribbean. I think it's a great way to kind
of summarize that. Yes, and then if you're traveling multi generational,
so you might have grandparents with you, factor in the elevator,
factor that in, Oh, you can always stay at a
ground level room. Also at Beaches Turks, Yes, now maybe

(25:48):
you might if the best way to go. Maybe if
you're going to do multifamily and you have some mobility issues,
if you go to a Beach's Negrill, it's a smaller resort,
easier to get around, right. Yes, so Beach's Turks has
the elevators, but you're you're talking about a much larger
footprint as well, So the way you're moving within the
resort's going to be more, yes, which isn't as much
of a challenge that was going up and down.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yes, now, if you are traveling as a multi generational family.
Both of them do have some villas that are like
right on the beach. And then at Beaches Cirks and
Caicos they're building new villas in the Treasure Beach Village,
so I do know the majority of those do have
a bedroom on the ground floor. So if it is

(26:28):
multi generational grandparents traveling with kids and grandkids, uh, there
is a bedroom on the first floor, so that could
be an option.

Speaker 2 (26:36):
That's a great suggestion too. That's a great suggestion. And
I just personally so I think about both these resorts,
you know the beach. They're both known for their beaches.

Speaker 3 (26:48):
Well, yeah, but we always talk about the beaches. Well yeah,
I think let's take a commercial break and then we're
going to come back and we're going to talk about
the beaches, dining, bars, water sports, all that that is included.
So stay tuned. We will be right back to pay
some podcast bills.

Speaker 2 (27:02):
All right, we are back, and where do you want
to go next week? You want to cover the laundry services?

Speaker 3 (27:06):
Yeah. One last thing that I want to mention is
some of the rooms in the Key West Village have
laundry services in the room, a washingroom, dryer.

Speaker 2 (27:15):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (27:15):
And then I believe at Beaches and a Grill that
their new multi bedroom villas have them that they just
built the even tide and fire sky. I would assume
that maybe the villas at the new villas at the
treasure beach beaches, Turks and Caicos might have that that
will remain to be seen. But otherwise there is laundry

(27:36):
service available on resort that you have to pay for,
so yeah I do, or I think they do. Also,
sorry to cut you off, but they also have like
laundromats so you can just go and put some coins
in and wash your clothes.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
So you can cut me off whenever you want. Oh, okay,
on the side show here side, you're the main entree.
No one. Thing I do like about the launcher services though,
is like it helps like us pack light like I
love being carried on King queens be that care young king,
don't bring a big bag. And then if you have laundry,
either a service where they come do it for you,
like they just take the laundry and bring it back.

(28:07):
Some people are weird about other people doing their laundry,
so I could see like the end sweep being a
better option, more convenient, you should do it yourself and
it's quicker.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Well, I mean I don't want anybody like washing I
get it.

Speaker 2 (28:17):
My under garments, yeah, I get it, so I'm nasty.
I don't want them touching my stuff okay.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
Anyway, but yeah, so we just wanted to mention that.

Speaker 2 (28:25):
Okay, perfect, where are we going next? In the in
the heavy weight about between Beaches Nogrill and Beaches Turks.

Speaker 3 (28:31):
So you started in on the pool and beaches but
I think let's let's jump into dining first.

Speaker 2 (28:36):
I do like, yeah, I do like talking about the food, Yes,
I do like it. And you have news that there's
a Butcher's, a new Butcher's that Turks.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
Right, Well, it's going to be coming with the new
Treasure Beach Village.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
That's what I like.

Speaker 3 (28:45):
Yeah, I don't believe it's open yet, but.

Speaker 2 (28:47):
It's the only dining option that place was lacking, Yes,
in my opinion.

Speaker 3 (28:51):
Yeah, So Beaches No Grill has thirteen dining options. Seven
of those are dinner options that are available, and Beaches
Turks and Cacos. How twenty two dining options. Some of
those are food trucks, and then there's fifteen places open
for dinner. And then in twenty twenty six there's going
to be the two new restaurants, so it will have
a total of twenty four.

Speaker 2 (29:11):
It's amazing.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
And then that will give you seventeen places for dinner.
So yeah, that's awesome. Now, one cool thing about Turks
and Caicos is there are a few adult options. So
there's Sapadillos, which is an adults only restaurant, and then
there's a restaurant called Sky I believe in the Key
West village where it's sixteen and up. Beaches No Grill

(29:33):
does not have any adult only dining areas.

Speaker 2 (29:38):
So on site. But let me ask you this because
I genuinely don't know if you wanted to, could you, like, say,
the parents wanted one date, dinner, date night and they
wanted to be adults only, could they transfer from beaches
Negrill to Sandals Nogrill And do they do a share
service like that where then they could go eat at Sandalsagrill.

Speaker 3 (29:56):
Yes, So actually, adults at Beaches No Grill can go
to Sandalston Grill Sandals and girl guests can go to
Beachston Girl. Now there's not like transportation that runs. I
believe you can request a taxi from the resort, but
we haven't done that yet.

Speaker 2 (30:10):
So okay, I just thought I figured that. So beach
is a grill, you could get adult only date night
experience if you wanted it.

Speaker 3 (30:16):
Yes, go check out the sandals. Yes, absolutely, yeah, So
quick rundown of the dining options at Beaches and Grill.
So there is a barbecue park that is open for
uh like lunch and then late night snacks. Cafe de Piri,
Dino's pizzeria. There are several food trucks, Chicken Dippers and
green Machine, a jerk shack, kimonos, Mariachi which is their Mexican,

(30:41):
the Mill Restaurant, which is international cuisine. They have sweeties,
ice cream counter soy for sushi, Stella which is Italian. Yes,
and yaku which is Peruvian. A la carte that's new
concept and I guess they know. Oh no, they do
have kimonos too. I skipped over kimonos. And then Yoyo's
Frozen Yogurt bar. So that is at Beaches and Grill.

(31:03):
So quick rundown of turks. This is gonna take me
a second. So Barefoot by the Sea so seafood restaurant,
Bayside Buffet. They have pizzeria Bobby D's, which is like
a fifty style diner. They are going to have the
Butcher's Chop House.

Speaker 2 (31:16):
Oh I love that. Love to bring the bushes. And
they also have the sushi conveyor belt at Beach Turk.

Speaker 3 (31:22):
Yeah, I haven't heard that, Yeah, that they have that,
so that's interesting. So Cafe de Piri, there's a jerk truck,
Dino's Pizzeria.

Speaker 2 (31:31):
The mac and cheese truck there also.

Speaker 3 (31:33):
The mac and Cheese is absolutely amazing. Giuseppe's Italian Buffet.
There's a coffee and pastry shop, Kimonos, a French restaurant,
Mario's Buffet, Italian restaurant. Because see, they have a few
of the same style restaurants because the resort's so big.
So just keep out of my mister Max's food truck,
which is the mac and cheese truck, Neptune's the pizza

(31:55):
food hall, which is going to be that new restaurant
in the Treasure Beach Village, Reflections Buffet, Sapadillos, which is
the Pan Caribbean adults only restaurants, Schooners, Sky Soy, and
then they have the pub and the pubs open until
like two o'clock in the morning.

Speaker 2 (32:13):
Well the pub food.

Speaker 3 (32:14):
And they have frozen yogurt as well.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
Can't beat it. Yes, like there's something for literally everyone
all and I think too. One of the things Beaches
does well, and they've really evolved this over the years
is helping meet all dietary needs. You know, there's a
lot of people that you name it if you're keto, paleo,
you know, vegan, you know, or you know your your

(32:38):
sugar issues right.

Speaker 3 (32:39):
You know, yea gluten into diabeticl.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
Gluten intolerance like medical things they can accommodate and they
do such a great job at it. And we've like
witnessed that evolve over the last few years. And I'm
also noticing too, like a lot of these resorts when
they add restaurants or they expand or new resorts or
even coming with like health conscious restaurants in general, Like
they'll love an one dedicated option that are that's a

(33:02):
healthy option, and the whole restaurant's dedicated to that. And
I think that's pretty cool. Like we saw that at
the Oh gosh, what Sandals was that? And also the
donut shop, so it countered that that was Barbados, Barbados.
It had the healthy restaurant and then right next to
it was a nice big donut shop, so you could
eat healthy and then go to that donut. Donut shop
is really good.

Speaker 3 (33:20):
Yeah, So one thing I was just looking at beach Instagrat,
which has been a few years since we've stayed there.
But you'll like this, You'll appreciate this, and I think
this is great. I wish that more resorts, especially sandals
and beaches, would move towards this. So typically there are
dress codes. If we're called resort casual versus resort evening,
doesn't really make a difference for women, you know, sun dress,

(33:43):
cute outfit, cute shorts, sandals, whatever, but men were to
have long pants and closed toad shoes. Looks like what
I am seeing as of July twenty twenty five, and
I have the diny the dress code for every restaurant
sitting in front of me right now, and it says
all of them are resort casual, so no men need
long pants, which is that is great because I mean

(34:05):
they've been listening to our pod who wants to bring
pants to Jamaica?

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Thank you. I have been all over this since this
podcast started in twenty eighteen. Yeah, I have been the
biggest proponent of let's get rid of the pants and shoes,
clothed toad shoes, and it makes it's more to pack, yeah,
less convenient. It's hot in these Caribbean destinations. What are
we doing? I get the thought behind it. You want

(34:29):
field swimwear all people looking like bums. I get it.
But I think this is a massive improvement because I
you know, you know, I'm a golfer though, so like
I have golf shorts, golf polos, I you know, I
wear you know, so like, what I'm saying is like,
you can dress really nice absolutely and look very You

(34:49):
can look very nice in shorts you don't always have,
like pants, isn't the only way to look very nice? Now,
I agree, I wouldn't want people wearing like, you know,
ripped up jean shorts or basketball shorts or swim trunks.
That's like, I think you can draw that line and
people will still dress very nice and say these things
aren't allowed. But wear some nice shorts in a polo
or button up or something like that.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
It looks like a beach's turks. There's five that require
long pants and clothes to shoes.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Okay, we're working on them. We're working on them.

Speaker 3 (35:18):
So if you're saying for like a week, you might
need to bring two pairs of pants or services services pauntry. Yeah,
but that's a bomb so that's definitely a perk for Negrill.

Speaker 2 (35:27):
So you know. Now, now, I will say this, we've
over the course of many, many years going to these resorts.
They usually don't ask you to leave. It's pretty rare
that if you look really nice and shorts. I'm not
at one time. But then there's also been times where
it's supposed to be pants and I wear shorts and
like just sit outside, you know.

Speaker 3 (35:46):
Yeah, but not here, I will say when we've seen
it at sandals and beaches, they have been tricked about it.
And it was at a Sandals where they were like,
oh no, you need pants, you need to go change.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
It was at a secret resort that they made me
sit outside. Yes, that they had outdoor dining anyway, so
didn't matter right, Yeah, well I was like that's fine,
Like but guys, let's guess kill these pants enclosed.

Speaker 3 (36:05):
You know, when you're in the Caribbean Mexico and it's hot,
like come on, I want.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
To like DM Adam be like come on, brother, like
you come on. Okay, live down there, so you're used
to it, but we'll come from all parts. Yeah, we
got people from Canada. They don't want to wear pants.

Speaker 3 (36:19):
Yes, so beaches Turks and Caicos has seventeen bars and
one of them is adults only, and then they do
have like a late night disco that once it hits
eleven pm I believe, then that becomes adults only. And
then there are five bars at beaches Negrill. So again
just massive size difference in these properties.

Speaker 2 (36:42):
Love it, love it.

Speaker 3 (36:43):
Yes, So now we'll get into the beaches in the
pools and then we'll.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
Talk about activities. Yes, activities.

Speaker 3 (36:51):
Yeah, So speaking of the beaches, so beaches, A grill
is on seven Mile Beach, there is you know, a.

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Famous world fans if you're on world famous beaches. They're
both famous worldwide in their own way.

Speaker 3 (37:03):
Yes, Turks is on grayce Bay. Both are award winning beaches.
Both have bright white sand, crystal clear blue water like
absolutely amazing. They are both public beaches, so that's one
thing to note. But you know, if you like something
where you can have a long stretch of beach to walk,
you can do that on both. Gray Spay is twelve

(37:24):
miles long for Turks and Keikos, and obviously seven Mile
Beach is seven miles long, So.

Speaker 2 (37:29):
Yeah, Gray Spay for me, it feels like gray Spay
is a little more private, I would say than Nogrill
No Grill's. I think it just feels that way. There's
less vendors. I guess, yeah, a little bit less vendors.
Things like that.

Speaker 3 (37:43):
There is great snorkeling right off the beach in Turks
and Caicos, and they actually will let you use the
snorkel equipment.

Speaker 2 (37:51):
I think that's great to snarkle off.

Speaker 3 (37:53):
The beach, whereas a lot of other places they won't.
But the last time we were there they did do that.

Speaker 2 (37:57):
So one of my favorite things I remember about tur
swinging went is like at the beach, like the white sand,
the blue water just pops it. Turks and they had
like an old boat. It was like this massive old wooden,
rustic row boat filled with ice and red stripe, and
you just grab one and the local beer and local
Turk beer and you just grab one and go walk

(38:19):
the beach. Yeah, And I thought that was so cool,
like just grab and go, just go have a day
like that was so cool. And we did that. I grabbed,
grabbed one, walk the beach, get my steps in. We
did snuba We did snuba at this this was your
first underwater because you've never even done scuba diving, right,
because you're terrified of drowning, which oh I am too.
But the snuba thing was fun and that is an

(38:40):
extra charge. But I think both of them offer a
wide variety of things to do. You know, the water,
I think the water's a little more calm and a
grill right, like I think I think if like if
you're gonna go swimming with little kids, I think the
water might be a little more calm. There's nearby reefs
with the short boat ride.

Speaker 3 (39:00):
There is in Turks too. I don't know, I think
I might disagree with you on that. I think they're
both very very calm, yeah, because.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
I know, I know, like five minutes away you can
get world world class snorkeling at Turks yea turtles and
also like and it's it's not uncommon for you to.

Speaker 3 (39:17):
See like we saw multiple scene rays right off the beach.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah, when you're underwater in Turks for some reason, you
could see like on a good day, like a hundred
feet Yeah, Like it's you can see very far away.
I haven't been underwater enough on seven Mile Beach to
be able to speak to that, but definitely visibility is amazing.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
I mean it's yeah, it's very clear. I remember, Yes,
when we were in the water, we saw that massive
like Manner ray swim back.

Speaker 2 (39:41):
So yeah, the thing was awesome.

Speaker 3 (39:43):
Or our friends said it was an eagle ray. I think.

Speaker 2 (39:44):
I don't know, and I'm pretty sure if you go,
we do have I don't know if we have a
vlog on the grill. I can't do we vlog a grill.
I can't remember.

Speaker 3 (39:51):
Not beaches, no grill.

Speaker 2 (39:52):
Yeah, but we've I know we've have a log on
Turks and I think when we went snooping, I took
a GoPro we did the underwater.

Speaker 3 (39:57):
I think, and that was our vlogging before we got
I don't want to say good, but you know we're
a lot better.

Speaker 2 (40:04):
Yeah, but it's out there. You can check it out.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
Yes, we are going to be getting another one, but
it'll be quite sometimes.

Speaker 2 (40:10):
We just got the first. My editor just cleaned up
the very first.

Speaker 3 (40:13):
I'm in a new video for Turks.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
But oh yeah, yeah, quite a while.

Speaker 3 (40:17):
Yes, So uh pools, so at beaches, Turks and Kegos.
There's nine pools and I know in the French, Caribbean,
Italian all three of those have a swim up bar,
I believe, and then there is the swamp bar by
bob By D's in the water park. I can't remember

(40:38):
if the Key West has a swim up bar or not,
but a total of nine pools, so lots of options there.
There's three main pools at beaches and a grill. As
far as the water parks go, again, you know, the
one at Turks is massive, better for larger kids or
there's just at least more like larger slides. So but
six slides at Beaches and a girl compared to nine

(41:00):
sides at Turks Caicos.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
So yeah, yeah, I think I think there's plenty to
do water waterfront wise, whether it's beach or a pool
or water park at both. Even though the water park's
a lot bigger at Turks, it obviously has to be
beg because it's it's such a larger resort, right you
know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (41:15):
Yes?

Speaker 2 (41:16):
All right, So where are we going next?

Speaker 3 (41:17):
So before we get into the water sports and activities,
So kids camp at both of these. I know we
briefly touched on this earlier, but there it's open from
nine am to nine pm daily and then they have
different groups, so They have infant zero to twenty four months,
toddlers three two four years, and then five to ten
year olds, eleven to seventeen year old, so teens and tweens,

(41:39):
and they do a variety of activities. This is totally complementary,
so you do not pay extra for this, and then
if you do want after hours after nine pm, then
you would just pay for babysitting services, which is additional.
But this is huge because at a lot of other resorts, this.

Speaker 2 (41:59):
Is where they excel. This is where beaches I think.

Speaker 3 (42:01):
Yes, first they're off they're all certified nannies, okay, but
at a lot of other resorts they won't take babies
in infants, so that this is really big. And the
fact that it's included that's great.

Speaker 2 (42:14):
And they're all certified at which I think is great,
which means they have the certified medical training in case,
so they have all those certifications. And you think about
when you're traveling multi generational and you do have one
kid that's the young you know that wouldn't like at
other resorts qualify be too young for stuff like this.
It kind of cramps the whole vacations and you have
to plan for just the youngest, right, you have to

(42:35):
do certain things for the youngest. Beaches got they have
you covered here, So I think that's one of the
reasons why they just kind of excel and they're always
ranked at the top of the family friendly resorts.

Speaker 3 (42:44):
Yes. Now, at Beaches and Agrill, they have trench Town
Teen Center, so that's play on Jamaica. That's open from
ten am to five pm and then six pm to
nine pm, and it's only for teens. And they have foosball,
air hockey, bean bags. It's like a will hang out place.
I believe they have a few xboxes in there. I
know they at one point did. Beaches Turks and Caicos

(43:07):
has a full xbox lounge. Oh yeah, and they have
like somebody in there to supervise and who will play
against shir kids. So that's kind of cool. I want
that job, yeah, I know that, Like what a fun
job though, Oh.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
My god, I want to run the video game center
like that would.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
Be that's gonna be your next life.

Speaker 2 (43:23):
Yeah, Like if you divorced me and just kick me
to the street and I had nothing, I'd be like,
all right, one way ticket to Turks. I'll I'll DM
Adam and be like, I don't care. You can pay
me less. I will do that job. Oh my gosh,
I'm kidding.

Speaker 3 (43:36):
Well. The lounge though, the Xbox Lounge open from eight
am to eleven pm, so all day long now that
you want, your kit's a spinning. It's a long day,
all day in there when they're in Turks Cakos. But
it's an option. So water sports so at Turks and Caicos, kayaks, windsurfing, snorkeling,
and it's just uh, you can snorkle off the beach
or snorkeling excursion. You just go and sign up a

(43:57):
day in advance. Aqua trikes, hobbycat, it's paddle boards and
they have a glass bottom boat.

Speaker 2 (44:03):
And then great great for like family stuff.

Speaker 3 (44:06):
Yes, beaches and a girl has a little bit more so.
They have kayaks, aqua strikes, windsurfing, hobbycats, paddle boards, glass
bottom boat, snorkeling excursions. So you have to go and
sign up and they take you out to a reef.
They have banana boats, you know those banana boats. Oh,
water skiing, knee boarding and wakeboarding, and then both have

(44:27):
scuba diving. You just have to be certified. If you're
not certified patty certified. You can take a resort class
and dive one time. There is an additional cost for that,
or you can do your whole you know, open water
patty certification there if you wanted. But in terms of activities,
you know, there's just a ton of things to do.
And then at each resort, every night they also have

(44:48):
nightly entertainment, whether that's some sort of like music performance,
like cultural show, you know, anything like that. They always
have something going on at both resorts.

Speaker 2 (44:59):
And think we haven't talked about yet. I do want
talk without it, so maybe maybe we still have it
on the agenda here to talk about. But so they
have an exclusive contract with the Sesame Street Company and
they the Sesame Street characters will do pop up shows.
They just they'll walk throughout the property. You never know
where you're gonna run into one. And I think it's
a great like it's that just added touch of an

(45:19):
enhanced experience because it almost because that's I think Disney
does a really good job at that. Like Disney has
their own characters. The characters are walking round and you know,
instead of doing Disney at Disney, right, these guys, sandals
and beaches are doing Sesame Street and they have the
contract Sesame Street to do so and so, and then
you've all you've mentioned in past podcasts about you know,

(45:40):
like the tuck and experience or whatever where we're like
the Cookie you can do milk and cookies with the
Cookie Monster before you go to bed, and like or
Elmo can tuck you in or read you a you know,
a bedtime story.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
There is an additional cost to that, but how special
would that be if you're yeah, like a three year.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
Old, Oh, it would be. It would be so awesome.
And like, you know, we talk about this with our family,
like if you're gonna spend money like those kind of experiences,
we call them core memories. It creates those core memories
for three year well I don't know about three or four,
but anyways, like I never forget that thing. That's so cool. Yeah,
and you know, why spend money on like something physical
that will could interiorate every time when you can spend

(46:15):
money on experience like this and like give your kids
memories forever.

Speaker 3 (46:19):
Yes, yeah, absolutely love it. So let's talk about price.
I guess I think that's nice and time of year,
so real quick, Yeah, I was gonna say if you're
new here. So best time of year price wise to
go to the Caribbean is going to be September through December,

(46:40):
not over a holiday. And then it, you know, jumps
up in price for high season like January through April,
usually goes down a little bit in May, and then
you have your busy summer travel season in terms of weather,
so technically the rainy season is June through November. I
would not let that deter you. It's usually just a
pop up shower for a few minutes. Now, if you

(47:02):
are thinking about this and you want to do this
for a summer vacation, spring break or like holiday like
Thanksgiving our Christmas, those book up so far in advance,
so I cannot stress to you enough to book. So
I just booked.

Speaker 2 (47:16):
I was gonna say, talk about we you just booked.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
Well, I just booked some neighbors for spring break of
next year, so for April, and there was two rooms
left for a family.

Speaker 2 (47:27):
Of four, oh my gosh.

Speaker 3 (47:29):
And so we got one literally one of the last
rooms for spring break. And so this is July. Spring
breaks in April, so I mean, in eight months in advance,
it's already almost sold out. The multi bedroom villas at
Ngrill and Turks, those sellout quite in advance. Also, like
we were looking for Turks the new villas and Treasure

(47:53):
Beach Village for twenty twenty seven and over July fourth week,
they're already sold out. So you just have to look
at that and really plan in advance. Now, a couple
things that I'll say with that. So with the multi
bedroom villas, so if you're traveling as you know, a multi

(48:14):
generational family, so those require a thousand dollars non refundable deposit.
But something happens because you're like, Okay, well I know
I want to do this, but I'm afraid to commit
this far in advance because who knows what's going to
happen two years from now. So the thousand dollars. With
a thousand dollars deposit, you can change dates and you
just can't go down in room category, but you can

(48:36):
change dates as long as you're not within penalty periods.
So as long as you know that this is absolutely
something that you want to do, don't worry about it. Yeah,
then you put down the thousand dollars and know that
you at least have the flexibility to change the dates.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
And they do that because there's so few of these
rooms are in high demand and they don't want people
eating them up and then taking them off the market
for booking and then you just cancel. That's tough.

Speaker 3 (48:56):
Yes, now with all of the other room categories. If
you're like, oh, I know, I might want to do
this for summer vacation. I want to book Turks, but
you know, I'm not quite sure. You know, if it'll
work if we can swing it. It's a four hundred
dollars deposit and that is refundable, so up until you
know a certain point, once you get in cancelation penalties.
But that's why you shouldn't be afraid to do that,

(49:20):
because you do have some flexibility if you know that
this is something that you really want to do. Also,
if you're like, well, what if they come out with
a promotion or something like that and the room goes
on sale, as long as you can see the availability
and that you can see that Nope, this room is
available and it's one thousand dollars less. You can always
get your room refair to the lower price as long

(49:43):
as it's not paid in full, or as long as
you're not within penalty period, so you're not penalized for
booking early. A couple other tips both you know, Sandals
and Beaches resorts, they offer first responder discounts, so if
you are if you have military service, if you're active
or a ve, you get ten percent off the room,
not all rooms, so you know, if it's if you're

(50:05):
traveling and you're going to book multiple rooms, it's just
the one military person gets the one ten percent off.
They do also honor the anniversary discount.

Speaker 2 (50:15):
Love that, yep.

Speaker 3 (50:16):
So you get a seventh night free and a concierge
or butler category as long as it doesn't already have
a free night promotion on there, and that's if you're
staying within thirty days of your wedding anniversary date. Beach
is a grill oftentimes has a sixth night free promotion
and actually I looked at it. Wow, really, yes, I
looked at it for July twenty twenty seven earlier, and

(50:37):
they actually do have that right now on some rooms.
So that's a great way where you could also save
some money.

Speaker 2 (50:43):
So price wise, yeah, it's priceless thing out because I mean,
drum roll please, everyone's waiting for it.

Speaker 3 (50:48):
Yes, So beach'snagrill Is and this is for a family
of four. I just put in two adults, two kids,
ages eight and ten. Room pricing per night starting at
twelve hundred and sixteen dollars per night. If you want
at a concierge level, then that gets you thirteen thirty
three per night. And then what the concierge level gets you.

(51:11):
Basically you just have concierge service. You can request an
upgraded mini bar in your room on arrival. It's not
I would say, as many amenities as like the difference
in Sandals club level. So I'll just say that now
Turks and Cacos Beaches Turks and Cacos is starting at

(51:32):
sixteen hundred and sixty five dollars per night for a
family at four. So that's in the Caribbean Village again
remember Caribbean French Village. Those are the most dated of
all of the villages as of July twenty twenty five. Okay,
so Seaside Village or sorry, no, let me jump to
Italian Village. Which I love the rooms in the Italian

(51:53):
Village at this resort because they have a kid's room
so it's not completely closed off where you have like
a door to the adult bedroom for privacy. You're on
vacation too, but there you go. So they're in the
kids room right when you walk into the room on
the right or the left, I guess, depending on the layout.

(52:13):
But I've only I've stayed in this room category a
variation of it twice, and both times I was on
the right. But there's bunk beds and then a trundle
bed at the bottom, so you could sleep three kids
in there, and then you walk down a long hallway
and then there's the bathroom on the right and then
a bedroom you know, with the king bed, so it's
very spacious. You can have some separation from the kids

(52:36):
and the adults. So Italian village rooms starting at twenty
two hundred and ninety nine dollars per night, and for
a family of four, Seaside Village the ones that have
been renovated, so these are the Seaside I think it's
called Concierge one bedroom villa, so it's twenty four to
forty six per night. And then the new Treasure Beach
Village for a family of four, leading room category. There's

(52:59):
Ocean Treasure Beach, which if you Concier Suite thirty two
seventy seven per night.

Speaker 2 (53:03):
I love it. Yes, they have it, folks, the moment
you've been waiting for.

Speaker 3 (53:07):
So obviously Negrill is less expensive. Also, just Jamaica in itself,
that island is one of the more affordable islands that
you can go to in the Caribbean. And I love Jamaica.
It's one of our favorite islands. So you know, I
don't think that you can go wrong, you know, with
either of these options. A couple other things that I

(53:30):
just want to mention because I hear this a lot.
I do kind of think that sometimes the service in
Turks and Geicos it's just a slower vibe, you know,
it's island vibe. It's very island vibe on island tom
It's on island time, and you get that in a
lot of places in the Caribbean. So just kind of
want to mention that.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
Yeah, I think it's worth mentioning. And you know, I
think like the price Turks is going to price out higher.
I mean, Jamaica has more even though they are also
an island, they're a larger island and they just have
more local things that can tap into where Turks. Definitely,
nearly everything's coming in. Yes, maybe except for a little
bit of rom some beer, but other than that they're
important everything. Okay, Yeah, So before we get a question

(54:08):
the day, please tell everybody how can they get ahold
of us? How can they work with you? We are
a top ten Sandals and Beaches travel agency in the world,

Speaker 3 (54:27):

called one eight hundred and six seven four three two
seven eight. We are in the office Monday through Friday,
nine am to five pm Eastern time.

Speaker 2 (54:42):
All right, that leads us to where I shine the
most in this podcast. Question of the day, are you
ready to pull? Or Question of the day? Question of
the day. All right, here we go, And by the way,
you guys, if you want to ask US questions. You
can actually email questions at pine travel dot com. It'll
come to me. So if you want to submit a
question today yourself and toss something up to me and Janet,
we will talk about it as long as it's PG thirteen,

I guess, so we want to keep it family friendly.
Or if you want to if you have a travel question,
you want to submit a travel question of the day,
we can help answer your questions here over the airwaves
and get the answer to you as well. So anyway, yeah,
questions at pinictravel dot com. But let's jump into this one.
This is unrelated to travel, but couple, I shouldn't say
fully unrelated to travel. What is your go to gas
stations snack combo on a long drive? And I have

(55:28):
a lot to say about this.

Speaker 3 (55:29):
I always get a diet cheerwine.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
You love diet cheer wine.

Speaker 3 (55:33):
If you're not from the South, then you probably don't
know what that is.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
If you if you haven't tried one and you happen
to be in the South, definitely go to a gas station,
grab you a cheerwine.

Speaker 3 (55:41):
And get you maybe get a regular cheerwine.

Speaker 2 (55:44):
First you have the full sugar experience.

Speaker 3 (55:46):
Yes, Otherwise diet cheer wine is like my absolute favorite.
I always get one when we have like a three
hour road trip to home where our families live. So, uh,
that would be my go to drink for the road.
And lately I've been getting the pop chips.

Speaker 2 (56:03):
You have been vibing on the pop chips. Yeah, and
we have to go on a road trip.

Speaker 3 (56:07):
Oh, I know, I'm like, I just want that because
it's something like light to snack on.

Speaker 2 (56:11):
Crispy Carby.

Speaker 3 (56:12):
Yeah, and you know the like so diet cheer wine
and then the sea salt pop chips.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
That's my go to for a road trip, so my
go to. Those are good. Those are good because I
usually munch on your pop chips whenever you have.

Speaker 3 (56:23):
I know you always do that, like he always wants
what I have.

Speaker 2 (56:27):
I mean it's technically fifty percent.

Speaker 3 (56:29):
When not my cheerwine and my pop chips.

Speaker 2 (56:32):
Okay, that's where you draw the line. Yes, it's fair, Okay.
My go to is. I mean, I love high protein snacks,
so like I love the I think it's met Rx
protein bars. Those are fire. I mean I always have
like Quest bars, Quest bars. Yeah, the Quest chips are good.
You know, I do guilty pleasure. I love the white monsters.

(56:54):
So like, if I need a little pick me up,
I usually go iced coffee, like black iced coffee. The
only thing sweet I like is like on the road
is like maybe like a like a diet soda, like
a Diamons or something. Someone give you a little pick
me up on the drive. Yeah, but yeah, the go
to snacks are definitely just like like oh oh, and
the legendary snacks are really good too. They have the
high protein, low carb Legendary snacks that cinnamon bun and

(57:17):
then they have the pop tarts. I'm not called pop darts,
they call their own thing, but they look like those
are good. They're very good, and they have really good
macros on them. Because I kind of nerd out on that.
It's like two hundred calories which you get twenty grams
of protein, good amount of fiber. Like you know, they
taste really good. Like Legendary is gonna take over that.
That stuff is good for like just a grab and
go snack. You can't go wrong with a Glizzy. Oh

(57:40):
what me and the kids were talking about this weekend.

Speaker 3 (57:43):
I heard them talking about Glizzy and I was like,
I don't even know, dog. They tying terms now are
just hilarious by the.

Speaker 2 (57:51):
Way they were. They were. I was asking, what with
some of the like terminology that, like what do they
use now? Like seven and this thing called where they
juggle in their hands they go seven or eight seven
and eight. Oh, and that's supposed to mean.

Speaker 3 (58:02):
Like I thought it was six or seven.

Speaker 2 (58:04):
Good or better or something like pretty good or average.
I don't know. I don't know. I can't. I can't
keep up then though, and then I was watching like
Sports Center, I think, and I saw, like this guy
hit a home run and the ball goes into the
stands and this guy catches it, and there's kids behind
him and they're doing the same symbol. They're doing the
like six or seven symbol or seven or eight, And
I'm like, whoa wait, our nephews do that? I like,

(58:26):
I caught my mouse, Like, hey, I just learned about
that today.

Speaker 3 (58:28):
That's funny.

Speaker 2 (58:29):
But anyways, you can't go wrong the good guy as
long as they're fresh. And by the way, gas station food,
if you're gonna gohead and have a meal, QT, quick
trip really good, yes, and KT.

Speaker 3 (58:41):
I was gonna say, there's two quick trips in the US.
There's QT in our area.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Well QT is like nationwide. Oh there KT. They both
are Quick Trip KT, Kwik Trip. They're mostly Wisconsin Minnesota,
like upper Midwest. Really good food, like excellent food, and
I have a little seastore expertise. We used to work
in this industry long time ago, prior life, and the
food has come out a long way.

Speaker 3 (59:04):
So if you say ce store, that means convenience, convenience.
A lot of people might.

Speaker 2 (59:07):
