Speaker 2 (00:22):
What is up everybody? Hey everyone, welcome back to another
edition of the No Before You Travel Show. We've got
a show for you today on this beautiful well it
be April my time, people, Paul said this.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Yeah, it's the last Sunday in March.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Masters is about to start March. Man, this is coming
to an end. Man, it's and the pollen's here.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Oh yeah, it's definitely been rough.

Speaker 2 (00:45):
I'm a little nasally. Pollen's here. I know, depending on
where you are in the country, maybe you're not experienced
pollen yet. But man, we're getting hit with the pretty hard.
That's okay because weather's warms, vibes are high. Spring breaks
going on spring breaks? Season is he Yeah? When when
is technically spring break?

Speaker 3 (01:02):
Well, it's kind of depends on you know, where you are,
So for us here in the Carolinas, it's like the
week before Easter, which that's another episode that we need
to do. Is like you know, top spring break ooh
nations or vacations, it's probably I mean, it's not too
late to plan, but you're going to pay premium pricing

(01:23):
if you're trying to plan a last minute spring break
trip and I can't recommend enough like plan early for that.

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I was gonna say talk about how important it is
real quick before we jump on the episode, Like how
important it is to plan early, even if it's just
a little spring break trip, Like what a difference I
can make? Right?

Speaker 3 (01:38):
Well, I mean it really depends. But if you're going
to be traveling at a peak time, so spring Break, Christmas, Thanksgiving,
New Year's those are super peak weeks and the closer
you get, the more expensive it's just going to be.
So I cannot recommend enough that you book early, early, early.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
And a lot of places will give you that flexibility,
Like if you, like, I know you always recommend getting
the cancer for any reason, insurance and have the proper
insurance place so you can book early, take advantage of
the deals, taking advantage of early planning, and then if
you have to change something, you have some insurance fall
back on now that we're gonna go down this insurance
travel insurance rabbit hole.

Speaker 3 (02:14):
Or even if you you know, if you plan early enough,
you know, depending on how your package or you know,
what you book. You know, a lot of times there's
a lot of flexibility, so if like the pricing goes down,
you can just cancel, rebook that sort of thing.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
Yeah, exactly, exactly. I love it, but you no, April's here.
My birthdays run on the corner. Might as well be forty,
that's my that's my theme for this year's birthdays. I'll
be not forty, but I'll be thirty. I'll be thirty
nine in three weeks, exactly three weeks of today, and
might as well be forty. And then my fortyth falls
on a Monday. God, that's the worst.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
And your thirty ninth is on Easter Sunday.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yeah, my thirty ninth is on Easter. That's okay though.

Speaker 3 (02:50):
Yeah, Georgia's a four to twenty birthday.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
Everybody loves that, Yeah they yeah, I get I get
that all the time. And I said ID when I
was younger, like, oh, nice birthday, you know, four twenty.
It's like, you know, I never really parttook in that,
but you know whatever, Yeah, some people love it, so yeah,
they love I'm sure a lot of people celebrate on
my birthday, yes, and whatever. That's fine. Do your thing,
celebrate for me. There, you smoke one down and be

(03:12):
like this one's for the guy on the podcast that
does the travel podcast with the Caribbean Queen. Oh my gosh,
all right, we have an awesome episode today. I think
it's very timely for this episode because you know, prices,
prices aren't what they used to be pre COVID. You know,
prices are continuing to climb. You know, inflation's real glo globally,

(03:32):
inflation is still a problem. But we're gonna help you
find some really really good I don't want to use
the word budget, but good value, all inclusive trips you
can take this summer. If you haven't, if you're like, oh,
I just can't squeeze it, well not yet. And this
is not an April fool's joke. These prices are real
and I even found one, Like you did. You do

(03:53):
all the hunt, hunting and pecking, but I actually found
a nice Caribbean cruise. I want to talk about, Yeah,
talk about little cruising on from coming for me.

Speaker 3 (04:00):
Yes, so I have heard. Oh, you know, I don't
I don't know if we can swing a vacation this
year because everything's so expensive. But you know, there are
ways that you can vacation, and there are resorts that
you can go to that can be more budget friendly.
And we're going to kind of give you a few
tips on you know, how you can save some money.
And then we have found, you know, some good deals

(04:23):
for you.

Speaker 2 (04:23):
So yeah, we have. We have some really good deals
deals that like when we were talking pre show, it
raised my endbrow. I was like, well, that's a really
good price. Yeah, I found this cruise. I'm so excited
to talk about. We don't talk about cruising enough. We
do love cruising. We're going on two cruises this year,
so we do love cruising. It's just like, I feel
like this podcast kind of has steered itself into the
all inclusive world. But we do. We book a lot

(04:44):
of cruises every year.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
No, we yes, a lot of cruises, a lot of Europe,
a lot of europe cruises, so lots of stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
I tell you, there's nothing better than the first day
of the cruise when you're sitting I like, here's what
I like to do on the first day of cruise.
I like to sit at the top deck high as
I can go.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
No, you like to grab a drink and then go explore.
Then okay they sit on the top deck.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Yeah, okay my favorite. Yeah, right when you get on
the cruise, my first the thing I love to do
the most obviously find your room, grab a drink, and
just go explore the ship. I'll walk every deck, like
before the ship leaves port, like I'm walking everything. I'm okay,
where's this, Where's that? Where's casino? Where's the restaurant's side? Research,
Like I don't want to get the lay of lamb
and oh we're gonna go here tonight. I'm like a

(05:26):
kid in the candy store on the first day of
a cruise. But as the cruise is leaving, I have
to get to the highest deck. Give me up there.
Most roller cribbing cruises, I think they still have the what.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
Do they call it, the I used to be called
the Viking Crown, the.

Speaker 2 (05:40):
Viking Crown launch. I think most of them still have that.
I love sure. I love sitting up there and just
watching the like watching wherever you're sailing away from just
sail away and then then you have you're surrounded by
nothing but water, the breeze. Oh, it's just it's perfect. Yes,
and then you know like okay, I'm in, I'm in
for a.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
Treat and it's vacate.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It is full on VAK mode. Yeah, which is what
we're going to put your earbuds in right now. So
strap in. We have a great show. We're going to
go and jump into it. And by the way, before
we jump into it, if you want more information or
anything to hear, link in the show notes how to
get a hold of us. We are at zero feed travelatency.
We don't charge a nine for our services, and you
get Janet's expert advice and she'll book you sh get

(06:18):
your book, get all the details squared away on any
of these resorts or cruises that you're about to hear about. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (06:23):
So one thing I want to start with, and I'm
going to talk about kind of trying to find I
hate using the word deal, but like the best price
that you can on airfare. So I love to use
Google Flights for clients, especially if they have flexible.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Dates, which I love Google Flights.

Speaker 3 (06:40):
Yeah, yes, if you do have flexible dates. That is
a good option because then that's going to open up
your options for pricing. And just to give you a
quick idea on how different airline prices can be from
day to day. And I've always heard it's like what's
the best day of the week to buy airlane tickets.

(07:01):
I've heard it's Tuesday. It really just depends, you know,
they can fluctuate day to day. A lot of it's
based on you know, demand and availability. So just to
give you a quick example, I was looking at pricing
from Charlotte to Pindicana and it was June twentieth through
the twenty fourth NonStop on American was starting at six't

(07:23):
eighty five a ticket. But if you if you were
to leave June nineteenth through the twenty third, you're paying
three hundred dollars more per ticket. It was nine to
eighty per ticket. So like that just shows you how
much you know, it can vary between the days. And
if you look at Google flights, you can you know

(07:43):
see what day and what date range is going to
be the best pricing, and you can also put in
an alternative airports.

Speaker 2 (07:50):
So like sometimes it's worth the drive if it.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
Can significant yeah, and so you know, I like, for us,
we're in Charleston, which there's not too much else around,
but I have a decent amount of clients who are
like in in the middle and yeah, yeah, in the middle,
or also like in like Kentucky for example, where no
matter what, you're gonna have a connection, and they're like, well,

(08:13):
we can check Louisville, Lexington and in Cincinnati. And so
you can actually put in alternative airports on the Google
Flights and then it'll pull up and tell you which
one's the best.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
And if you're a family of four or five, those
airport fairs just the flights just rack up quickly. So
if you can get a discount on those by by
being a little creative and being a little flexible, that's
that's probably the best place to start if you're going
to try to travel and get really good value and
get a good deal. Yes, is trying to save on
the flights. Now you know it's not always the case,
but it's worth searching. I think flexibility is also key.

(08:47):
I think you brought up a good point, Like you know,
you always try to find a day or two that okay,
if we left the night before, if we left a
day later. You know, I know it's not perfect because
I mean everyone's got schedules and stuff, but a little
flexibility help.

Speaker 3 (09:00):
Yeah, And I generally find, you know, if you can
travel during the week which I know a lot of
people want to try to take advantage of PTO over
the weekend. But if you can travel, let's say, if
you're going to do a seven night trip, you know,
like a Tuesday to Tuesday or Wednesday to Wednesday, generally speaking,
you do usually see better airfares.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Yeah. So, and you might get a little bit better
rate to the resort too, because those are less common
check in checkout dates.

Speaker 3 (09:28):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:29):
Yeah, those when you're at the resort, those Saturdays and
the Fridays and Sundays heavy heavy check in and check out.
We've been to some resort soere we're staying over the
whole weekend and like one day feels like the resort
is packed.

Speaker 3 (09:40):
It's like I did when we were at a lam
at till Air back at the end of January, and then.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
The very next day it's a ghost town. Like Friday,
like it's a ghost town.

Speaker 3 (09:49):
Friday was jam packed. I mean, like it was hard
to find a seat at the pool. But then Saturday,
Saturdays it's a heavy departure day, like the pool was empty.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
I know, it's crazy, Like the difference in those two
days can be crazy.

Speaker 3 (10:05):
Right, Yeah, So a couple of good deals. Well, and
let me just before I kind of talk about if
you have the great resort options, you know, if you're
looking for something a little more affordable. Uh So, the
best if you're looking for tropical vacation, the best places
to go, most affordable options are going to be Puntakana, Cancun,

(10:26):
Riviera Maya area, a little bit of Cabo sometimes depending
on the resort, Jamaica sometimes and then Jamaica. Yeah, so
we're going to kind of focus today specifically on Jamaica, Puntacana,
and Cancun.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
So yeah, and one more thing I want to preface
before we preface, before we jump into it, is you
will always find quote unquote cheaper options out there. We
if you just go and look for all inclusives in
these in these Caribbean islands and and also Mexico, you're
going to find something cheaper than what we talk about here. Yeah,

(11:00):
there's a certain level of quality that we just we
will not accept. So if you go below a certain level.
We just like we have a long list of what
we call do not book resorts, and that's because we
can't we can't back the trip with the quality, Like
we don't want a client to call us and be upset.
So so you might hear these prices and be like, oh,
I can find something cheaper in that. Well, you're always

(11:20):
going to give what you pay for if you go
to certain levels.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
So yes, and all of these resorts, now some of
them like they are you know, budget friendly resorts, but
they're solid options.

Speaker 2 (11:30):
And so you were all on a budget with pen
I Travel, Yes, And.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
So generally speaking, where you're going to see, like the
difference in quality is the food is the biggest thing,
and I usually say like the meats you know, are
just as a cheaper cut essentially, and then you know,
the liquor and the wine is usually you know, it's
just a little bit less. But if you're looking for

(11:54):
a nice, solid, clean, affordable getaway, you know for just
you know, you and your significant or you and your family,
these are solid options that you that you I would
totally feel comfortable booking. I send people to these, So
it's it's great. Yeah, the first one that I found.

Speaker 2 (12:12):
I'm just kidding, well this I'm.

Speaker 3 (12:14):
Actually really excited about. So hyattsilara capcanah.

Speaker 2 (12:17):
Wait, wait, that's a you found that on a good deal.
That's a nice That's an extremely.

Speaker 3 (12:22):
Nice place on a very good deal.

Speaker 2 (12:24):
For June, we started off the gate with the best value.

Speaker 3 (12:26):
We are yes, because this is an amazing value. If
you're looking like, Okay, you know, I don't know if
I can afford to get away, but you know this,
you you is very affordable in my opinion. Once I
break this down. Also, you know, I get asked to
like what's the best like credit card for travel perks

(12:47):
and stuff like that. You know, it really just kind
of depends. I don't like any hotel or resort specific
credit cards. I know there's a really good chase that
gives like great cash back rewards, but generally speaking, we
love the airline. I like the airline credit cards because
you can they give you a bunch of miles when

(13:08):
you sign up, and then you can, you know, earn
miles for every purchase. So we actually have the American
Airlines credit card for business and personal and for personal,
and we we book flights all the time with miles,
Like we rarely pay for flights because we use miles.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
Yeah, that's a good tip. Like, if you really want
to grab a credit card that's skeered towards travel, or
you're going to use it for your annual trip, go
with the airline that is that has the Like, look
at your nearest airport that you most likely will fly
out of. Look at how many flights that they have,
and some are some are some of these regional airports.
Sometimes skew Delta heavy. Sometimes I skew you United heavy.

(13:50):
Sometimes I skew Southwest, whatever it is, whatever that most
common airline is, look at that credit card if you're
going to go that route because you don't want to
get a Delta credit card or whatever because you think
you're getting better perks, and then Delta doesn't have any
flights out of your nearest hub. It just doesn't make
any sense, you know what I mean.

Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah, And so for us, and because we go to
the Caribbean a lot, American has the most Caribbean flights
out of any carrier, major carrier, So that's why we
use them. So and we're into Carolina in its big hub.

Speaker 2 (14:17):
All right, let's talk about this highatt cap con I
can't believe this made the list because I think of
this resort as definitely higher end, definitely usually prices a
little bit more. So I'm kind of like it is
is a is a pleasant surprise. We're starting hot out
the gate.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
Here, yes, and the highat Ziva cap ConA. So the
family side if you are looking Chaplin's family it unfortunately,
I loved it for all summer dates. It's pricing quite high.

Speaker 2 (14:41):
Yeah, that's so.

Speaker 3 (14:42):
But the Heia z Alara if you're looking for, you know,
adults only vacation, which this is one of my favorite
adults only all inclusive its same.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Here, amazing beach, fantastic restaurants, the steakhouse that's open air,
chef's kiss I just want. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Now they have a new steakhouse that you pay extra for.

Speaker 2 (15:00):
But and what's really cool is like this resort, you
get a lot of options, especially being on the adult side,
because you can go and enjoy any of the restaurants
on the family side, and they have great restaurants over there too. Yeah,
but you still have tons of great options that are
adults only.

Speaker 3 (15:13):
Yes, and if you want to enjoy the water park
on the family side, you can, there's a great lazy river.
It's only fifteen minutes from the airport, so if you
only have you know, a short amount of time, it's
perfect for that. Love love, love this resort. So it's
pricing at five hundred and sixty eight dollars per night for.

Speaker 2 (15:32):
Two people, what total for two.

Speaker 3 (15:35):
Total for two people, and this was June twentieth through
the twenty fourth.

Speaker 2 (15:39):
You go for three nights, yeah, for fifteen hundred bucks.

Speaker 3 (15:44):
Yeah, oh well just about sixteen.

Speaker 2 (15:45):
Hundred yeah, oh my god.

Speaker 3 (15:47):
It's too So that equates to two eighty four per
person per night, which you know, if you were to
go anywhere in the States, like you know, at a
decent resort, like at say in Miami Beach or something,
by the time you pay for food and drinks, you're
way over there. You're over that.

Speaker 2 (16:02):
You're not evening clues that you gotta remember, guys, he's
all inclusive resorts. I mean the food and drink, especially
if you go to the right ones, are very high
quality like this. This resort's in our elite tier. That
is a fantastic freaking deal.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Yes, yeah, So moving down to the next one, this
is also an adults only resort.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
But by the way, when we're thinking about that is
great for like a girl's trip to or a friends trip,
guys trip, you can go do a golf trip there. Yeah,
I might have to book another golf trip for this summer. Now,
now I'm going I want to.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Make what No, No, we have way too much going
on this summer starting in May. We have way too
much going on.

Speaker 2 (16:36):
So a second golf trips off the table.

Speaker 3 (16:38):
That is off the table. What about when I you
already have a second golf trip like in the fall.

Speaker 2 (16:42):
Technically yeah, supposed to be a third. Okay, Yeah, we're good,
but that's right up the road. That's not really a
golf trip.

Speaker 3 (16:47):
Okay, anyways, so I've been shot down. Yes, moving on,
So this is another adults only resort. You don't hear
us talk a lot about this brand, but you know
they're they're kind of like you know, some they're not
consistent amongst all of them. Okay, but uh so caution, yes,

(17:10):
or so this is the Reu Palace Macau. So generally speaking,
if you're going, if you're looking at a Reu, I
would recommend the Palace ones over the regular ones because
they're just a step above in quality and everything. Uh. Yes,
so this is pricing at three seventy five per night. Yeah,

(17:33):
so that's total for two people. So that's one hundred
and eighty eight dollars per person per night. So again,
if you're looking for just a nice, you know, getaway
that you know, it's nothing fancy, but you know, good food,
good yeah, nice.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
People, yeah, tropical vacation, yeah.

Speaker 3 (17:50):
Good drinks, but again nothing fancy. You know, this is
a great, solid option that's very affordable.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
Absolutely. Yeah. Yeah. You're not going to get like white
glove butler service here, right, and the food is probably
going to be closer to I don't want even call
it average. It'll be good food, but it's not going
to be elite. Yeah, it's not gonna be like you're
gonna sit down a restaurant and get a flavignon, you
know what I mean that type of deal.

Speaker 3 (18:12):
Yeah, it's not that.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (18:13):
But you know, if you're just again looking for something
affordable with you know, some solid food options and decent drinks,
I think it's fine.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Yeah, if you just want to vibe out it some
a bar with some cold drinks and just relax and
like cut the world off, you can still do that
here and it's still like the quality is still there
where we book it, Yes, yeah, where we book it.
So you know there's guys are so many and by
the way, we will never do a podcast on the
resource that we would never book just because we don't
want to sit there in bash resorts and stuff like that.
That's terrible for the industry. But you know, just if

(18:44):
we if we mention it here, it's a safe recommendation.

Speaker 3 (18:47):
Yes, Now looking at two family options, so the Barcelo
Bivaro Palace and Barcelo they have several resorts, and the
Caribbean and Pinchacona in Mexico. And again if it says
the Palace, it is the better of them. So you
have like where you see the differences like Alla Carte

(19:09):
restaurants instead of just buffets. But this one for a
family of four in June, starting at four forty per night,
and then they do have some upgraded.

Speaker 2 (19:18):
Sweets, so it's good. That's a good deal.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
Yeah, where you can get two connecting rooms and it's
actually very affordable at this resort.

Speaker 2 (19:24):
That's for a family of four, family of four, four.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
Hundred and forty dollars per night. So that's one hundred
and I did ages eight and four just so you know.
So that's one hundred and ten dollars per person per night.

Speaker 2 (19:34):
You can't. That's like when you're getting all inclusive resort, food, beverage,
good stuff, great pools, right, I mean that's yeah.

Speaker 3 (19:42):
And they have a little water water park with like
some decent sized slides.

Speaker 2 (19:47):
I love that. Yeah, love that.

Speaker 3 (19:48):
Next one is Dreams Flora Dreamslore again.

Speaker 2 (19:51):
Ooh, Dreams making the list.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Okay, yes, and this is one of their newer resorts.
I believe it opened in either twenty nineteen or twenty twenty.
They I also have, you know, a water park with
some slides for the kids. Five eighty eight per night,
So you're looking at one hundred and forty seven dollars
per person per night. That's really that's a really solid deal.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
And some of the like some of the Dreams that
we've been to and like.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
Not all dreams are the same.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
Just yeah, yeah, like Dreams Ply plymy Harris is really nice.
Like the pools. They have some many like little hidden
areas that they have the Brazilian Steakhouse, which is really
really good. Yeah that I'm comfortable with that brand, that recommendation.
Also I like that.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
Yes, I'd stay with Dreams Yeah, absolutely, yeah. Uh and
we're going to talk about one in cant Coon. So
moving on to Cancun.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Isn't that is it for families?

Speaker 3 (20:40):
Yeah, we'll start with families. Okay, yes, uh So Dreams
Natura is running a sale right now which is sixty
six percent off. So the beach is not great at
this resort, actually at either one of these family any
of well, I'm going to talk about three family resorts.
The beach is not great at any of these. Okay,
But if you're looking again for a solid resort get away,

(21:05):
you know, with things to do for the kids, you know,
good food like this, these are all great options. So
Dreams Matures starting at four or four per night and
actually for four, yes for a family.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
That's crazy. Yeah, that's a really good deal.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
So that's like one hundred and one dollars per person
per night. I actually just booked this for someone last.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
Week said prices are high in twenty twenty five. That's
really good.

Speaker 3 (21:25):
Yeah, you just I mean, you know, they're not everything.

Speaker 2 (21:29):
Is like this, I know. Yeah, we did some good
research for this podcast. This is good stuff.

Speaker 3 (21:34):
Yeah, so two other amazing options, and they usually always
have kids and teens stay free. So always look at
these resorts, especially if you're looking for, you know, something
more affordable. So the Moon Palace can Coon. Now if
you are at if you stay at the Moon Palace CanCon,

(21:56):
you don't have free access to the water park at
the Grand Side, but there's still so many different activities
and things to do for the kids. It's a great resort.
So kids in teens stay free. But so I put
in a family of four for June and it was
four ninety four per night.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
That's not bad either. Yeah, that's really a lot of
these are coming in for family four under five hundred. Yeah,
that's a good deal.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
That's a really good deal.

Speaker 2 (22:20):
Usually minimums here are two to three nights. You can't
just go for like a lot of places like this
won't do one night, right, Usually it's two. I recommend
three to really get in a groove. Minimum kids get
a break and then you can fly back long weekend.
Like we haven't mentioned one that actually isn't bad for
a long weekend.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
Yeah, all of these are good options for long weekend.

Speaker 2 (22:39):
All right, let's get in a quick thirty second break,
pay some podcasting bills because you've got some good stuff
to get to after the break, Right, what do we
get into it?

Speaker 3 (22:45):
So one more great family option in the Cancoon area,
and then a couple of great adults only options. And
you have not heard us talk about these very often,
but they're great budget friendly options. And then we're going
to talk a little bit about you can save on
sandals resorts, and then a few other tips to try
to help you save some money.

Speaker 2 (23:06):
Harvey, all right, thirty seconds. We got a lot of goods.
We are back filled up my little Sunday Funday cup here.
I'm just kidding, not.

Speaker 3 (23:15):
Yet while the break, not yet, all right. So another
solid family option that they usually always have the kids
stay free as well is the hard rock Rivy am Iya.
So this resort is like very south of Cancun. The
beach again is not that great. It's kind of like
a lagoon beach. But there's so much for the kids

(23:37):
to do on property. Yeah, and just off resort in
this area, there's a ton of things to do. Good
food on the golf, Yes, there's good golf in the area.
They also have some two bedroom sweet options here that
are fairly affordable as well. But the pricing for this
summer is starting at so I put in just a

(23:58):
family of four again, so four ninety one per night.

Speaker 2 (24:01):
Wow, these I'm so surprised that are coming in under
just right around one hundred person. Yeah, it's that's incredible.

Speaker 3 (24:08):
Yeah, So you can take your family on a vacation
this summer and do it somewhat affordably and fingers crossed
if you are looking to do that, have some flexible
dates you know that we can play around with and
try to find you some good deals on flights. So
now moving into some good adult only options. So this
is one of my go to resorts that is an

(24:31):
amazing quality adults only that's very affordable. It's called the
Valentine Imperial Maya and good resort, very solid, very solid, Yes,
very solid resort. The beach is great there, really good
food and a lot of the rooms have been renovated recently.
And so it's coming in at four sixty two per

(24:51):
night for a couple. Oh okay, so you're looking at
two hundred and thirty one per person per night.

Speaker 2 (24:56):
Yeah, that brand has a loil following. I feel like
a lot of people that just love that brand.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Yes, yeah, and I book a ton of people here.
It's great for I mean pretty much anyone. You know,
if you want something that's like quiet and laid back
but has you know, great fun things going on in
the afternoon, like foam parties, and you have great evening entertainment.
This is where it's perfect.

Speaker 2 (25:19):
Hey if you here's another one too. If you broke
the bank last year on maybe a wedding, right and
you're saying, hey, not gonna do the honeymoon yet because
we spent so much a lot. I think there's a
lot of couples just spent a lot on the wedding,
not everyone as parents that pay for it. Right. That
is a great delayed honeymoon. Yes, Like you can just
get to an adult's only spot for a great deal.
This summer, three four nights, love it, Yes.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Now. The other one is called El Dorado Riviera Maya.
So this resort has been around for very long time
that Valentine and Pail Maya has too. Now the beach
is not that great in this area, but the pricing
and right now they have a fifth night free promotion
and so I put five nights in June. It averages

(26:02):
out for a couple three hundred and ninety four dollars
per night.

Speaker 2 (26:05):
Oh my goodness, because you're in that extra night free. Yes,
that helps a lot.

Speaker 3 (26:08):
Yeah, so that's one ninety six per person per night
for five nights, but all inclusive. And yeah, both this
and the Valentine and Piro Maya again they have great food.
I think they're great, solid options if you're looking for,
you know, a more affordable adults only get away.

Speaker 2 (26:24):
Guys, click that request a quote button. It comes directly
to us and just say, hey, I heard this resort
on the Nope We're Going to Travel podcast that Jane
was talking about. I want to book that. We got
you back.

Speaker 3 (26:34):
Yeah, let's talk about how you can kind of save
on some Sandals resorts, and then we do have a
few cruise options that were gonna throw at you. So
Sandals often has last minute deals. Now they are very
date specific, so hopefully, you know, we could find that
to match up with some good priced flights. But on

(26:59):
three and four night it stays, you can usually find
a one night free depending on the resort. So I
pulled two options for Jamaica because again Jamaica is generally
more affordable and also the airfare, it's just easier to
get to than some other destinations like Saint Lucia, where
the airfare is going to be a lot more expensive.
So Sandal's South Coast they have a last minute deal

(27:24):
and they usually post these last minute deals like six
to eight weeks out, so like right now, they have
them basically through. I think the last date that I
saw was like May the tenth and South Coast in
a club level room, club level. Okay, this was seven
sixty four per night.

Speaker 2 (27:43):
That's a bad at all. Yes, that's a really.

Speaker 3 (27:44):
Yeah for four nights.

Speaker 2 (27:45):
And so South Coast is further out there, so just
be ready when you land in Jamaica and Montego Bay,
you're gonna have a longer transfer there. But this resort
is one of our favorite Sandals George. There's a lot
to do with this resort. It's a larger resort, but
very spread out, very it out, and in my opinion,
I've got some of the best sushi and all the
all the Sandals brand. Yes it's Sushi by the Sea.

(28:06):
I think they call it White Sushi.

Speaker 3 (28:07):
By the Sea or Sushi on the Sands, Sushi on the.

Speaker 2 (28:09):
Sands, all like that. And it is so good as
one of the central restaurants there. Oh wow.

Speaker 3 (28:13):
Yeah. And I did not price Sandal's Ochi, and I
probably should have. But Sandal's Ochi is very affordable resort.
Just a lot of the rooms have not been renovated.
They are slowly getting to that. Uh, but that could
be a great option too, you know, if you're again,
if you're just looking for a getaway, which I had
someone like, I.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
Get over the room not being renovated. I'm not going
to loose sleep over that. Some people. I think I
could see some people. I understand, like some people really
want the nice environments. But if you're going, if you're
doing a budget trip, yeah, I would go, like, you're
gonna get a really good experience a sandals Ochi, like
outside of the room. Yeah, and it's more about that there,
I think. Well.

Speaker 3 (28:49):
Yeah, So I had a couple and uh, we had
actually booked them Sandal's Saint Vincent for next year, and
then they were like, you know what, we I think
we really want to do. We just want to get
out of the cold, do a quick last minute trip
to sandals Ochi since it's very affordable and we just
want you know, some warm sunshine and we want some want.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
To scuba dives.

Speaker 3 (29:13):
Uh No, I don't think so. The Ocheros, the air
fare has been kind of high. But then they rebooked
when they were there for Saint Vincent and we canceled
what we had, so then they were able. Then they
saved yes, so then they saved another like ten percent
on their next vacation.

Speaker 2 (29:29):
That's how you do it.

Speaker 3 (29:30):
Yeah, so that's an option. Uh So another great last
minute deal that I found. But yet Ochi has had
a lot of availability over just like the last year,
it's not as popular as it used to be, so
they do often times have the last minute deals. Now
with the Sandals last minute deals, they're not combinable with
military discount and first responder discounts that they have just

(29:52):
so you know. So the Sandals were a Caribbean, so
right in Montego Bay if you're looking for perfect.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
For a long weekend, because the the transfer from Mobei
to Roal Cribbin is like five minutes, yes literally five minutes.

Speaker 3 (30:05):
Yeah, so if you have like three nights you you
can get in there. And this was I priced for
four and it's got a free night on there six
seventeen per night. Wow, and that's in a renovated room
at Sandals Royal Caribbean.

Speaker 2 (30:20):
And then nothing I love about Roal Cribbin is if
you wanted to go see another Sandals resort, you can
hop on a free transfer and go right over to
MOBEI you can have so Roal Cribin does not have
their elite steakhouse, Butcher's right, but Montego Bay does. So
you can take advantage of some of the great restaurants
that MOBE has and stay at Real Caribbean for the
discount of rate. MOBE they recently renovated, so I think

(30:42):
the rates are going to stay pretty high there for
a while because they recently renovated. A lot of those
rooms got renovated, well a lot.

Speaker 3 (30:47):
Not Yeah, but they're they finished up the renovations of.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
All the rooms like a few years back.

Speaker 3 (30:56):
Well they know they they recently did, like the last
few Okay.

Speaker 2 (31:00):
Okay, But I think the restaurants are a little bit
about m Obay. But it doesn't matter because you're a
five minute transfer away. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:06):
I love both of them.

Speaker 2 (31:07):
I do too.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Yeah, I don't think you can go wrong with either one.
I love the private island.

Speaker 2 (31:11):
Private Island is so so nice. Yeah, we stay when
we stayed at when we stayed at Real Cribban, we
stayed pretty much on the Private island almost the whole time.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Yeah, because it has a pool with a swim and
bar over.

Speaker 2 (31:22):
There, and it's so quiet, yea, so peaceful, and they
have a jerk shack over there, so you get your
jerk chicken for lunch. They have a restaurant over there too.
It's only open for dinner, Yeah, the Thai restaurant. And
you just have to take the little water ferry over.
If you're really brave, you could swim.

Speaker 3 (31:36):
Yeah, it would, but I don't think they want you
to swim it, but probably not. Yeah, but I mean
I would swim it. They also have a nude beach
on the other side of that island.

Speaker 2 (31:45):
They do, Yes, I didn't know that.

Speaker 3 (31:47):
Yeah, it's the only one in Sandals, Shane.

Speaker 2 (31:49):
I mean, not my thing, but I'll try everything once.

Speaker 3 (31:53):
But yeah, no, they they do have that. So if that.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Would you let me do that? If then, you know,
would you let me do that? If I was like,
I'm going to go try.

Speaker 3 (32:00):
This out, I mean I don't know, sure.

Speaker 2 (32:04):
You'd probably be like, no, put your bathsuit on me.
It's not my thing. I'm joking.

Speaker 3 (32:09):
Yeah, but we one time accidentally because the boat went
like too far out to the side when we were
leaving the island one time. I think you were with
me maybe it's work, and we got a peak of
over there and yeah, I was like, whoa, But.

Speaker 2 (32:27):
I think like that's I think it's a it's more
more of a European thing, you know, maybe not like
you know what I.

Speaker 3 (32:31):
Mean, Like I don't know. I have a few clients
that like they love to go to a couples and
grill every year because they like the Yeah.

Speaker 2 (32:39):
Yeah, Like honestly, I bet you feel really free.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
That's what he said. He told me that. He was like,
you know, it's just very very free feeling.

Speaker 2 (32:46):
You can't be like it's like the ultimate relaxation, Like
who really needs bathing suit?

Speaker 3 (32:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (32:52):
I want. I want to get sunburned down there. That's
what I'd be worried about.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
It's like sand down there.

Speaker 2 (32:58):
The sun is like yeah, I would I get burned
already enough on my shoulders, Like yeah, I can't let
that happen.

Speaker 3 (33:04):
Yeah, And apparently I.

Speaker 2 (33:05):
Would need some special like Derman dermatology, like sunscreen and.

Speaker 3 (33:09):
Apparently like at the one couples and a grill, like
you can't like it's not an option to like for
women to just go topless if you just wanted to
do that, like you have to be naked.

Speaker 2 (33:21):
Oh really Yeah, well because.

Speaker 3 (33:23):
I think they don't want. They don't want, you know,
like some people going over there to just like look around.
I guess I don't know. Anyways, moving on, moving forward.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (33:33):
Uh So some other great options and promotions that you
can think about with Sandals. So they also have the
Triple seven sales. So every Wednesday they take seven different resorts,
seven different room categories at seven different resorts, and they
make them an extra seven percent off, and it's an
extra seven percent off of like their crazy high pre

(33:53):
marketing price where they say that it's sixty five percent off.
So it does end up being a decent savings. And
as as long as your booking is not paid in
full and it's at like you can see that that
promotion applies to your specific room and dates, you can
always get the room refair to the lower price should

(34:13):
it come on. The Triple seven sail. Another great way
that you can take advantage or get somewhat of a deal.
Is Sandals has a free anniversary night.

Speaker 2 (34:23):
Oh yeah, that's an uncommon one that too many. I
think there's so many people that go on the anniversary
and don't even know that.

Speaker 1 (34:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:29):
So once you book like six nights, essentially your seventh
night is free as long as you book a club
or butler level room.

Speaker 2 (34:39):
They do have to prove it right.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
It has to be within thirty days of your wedding anniversary,
and you do have to submit your marriage certificate.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
But yeah, so don't think it's a verbal thing and
you're gonna get away with a free day. You gotta
submit it to the right thing. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (34:51):
Yeah, but it's a great promotion that you can take
advantage of.

Speaker 2 (34:54):
Love that. Love that or can I do one? I'm
gonna be the cruise.

Speaker 3 (34:57):
Yes, I was gonna say then yeah, now we're going
to drop a few cruises on you. And one of
my biggest tips with trying to find, you know, a
more affordable deal on a cruise ship is look for
the older smaller ships.

Speaker 2 (35:11):
Yeah yeah, absolutely so, yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:12):
I know you found one on Royal Caribbean, which this
is one of the older smaller ships.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Yeah, honestly, like a lot of Royal Caribbean ships, even
the older, smaller ones, they still deliver a great service.
They have the restaurant options that most people look for.
So this is a five night Western Caribbean cruise leaves
July nineteenth on the Enchantment of the Seas. Have we
been on this one? I feel like we haven't.

Speaker 3 (35:34):
Only have been on the Enchantment.

Speaker 2 (35:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (35:36):
I think that's when we took to Cuba.

Speaker 2 (35:37):
Yeah, yeah, I think so.

Speaker 3 (35:39):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
This leaves Tampa, so it's out of Tampa and you
have five nights, So six day, five nights out of Tampa.
Your first day's cruising at sea. Second day is in Costamaya,
which great place we've been to. That port, really fun port.
Third day Cosmo, unbelievable. Love that. Yeah, fourth day at sea,
fifth night. After the fifth night, you pretty much back.

(36:00):
So you have two days at sea, two great Western
Caribbean ports in Mexico. This is coming in at a
grand total for two. Now, this is two in tier room.
Right in tier room, you're getting six hundred and eighty
four dollars and discounts on this. You're at eleven seventy
three seventy total.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
For two before gratuities, but.

Speaker 2 (36:20):
Before gratuities, yeah, all taxes, that's everything. Taxes, fees, port fees,
all the other fees that they add. Doesn't include your gratuities.
But you're just getting on the ship for eleven hundred
bucks for a five night cruise and that's all for two.

Speaker 3 (36:32):
Yeah, that's all. Your meals are included now, not drinks,
but meals are included. And then generally when you are
looking at a cruise, and then if you are say
a family of four, once you add the third and
fourth person in there, the overall per person price comes down,
so like that is roughly six hundred dollars a person.
You know, once you add in the third and fourth guest,

(36:55):
you might be looking at something like four hundred dollars
a person. So your overall per person rate comes down.

Speaker 2 (37:00):
And this was less expensive than some of the three
and four nighters I saw, Like, this is one of
the best priced cruises going right now that I found
a real Caribbean, we lean towards Royal Caribbean over Carnival.
That's just it's our preference, you know, I didn't check
Carnival or some the other ones, but yeah, we Rollal
cribmans a great go to. Princess is another really good one.
If you here's a good time Norwegian Norwegian. If you

(37:21):
want less kids, look at Princess. Yeah, Princess might be
the closest celebrity outside of Virgin voyages. Princess might be
the close thing you can get to an adults only in
celebrity celebrity too. Yeah, yeah, those skew a little older sometimes,
but you definitely have a lower likelihood of seeing a
bunch of kids. Roal cribbans can be a mixed bag,
but great, all of them are great families, irregardless.

Speaker 3 (37:41):
Yes, So one that I found this is on Norwegian.
Just a four night Bahamas getaway in July Monday to
Friday on the Norwegian gym for a family of four.
Your total price it was coming just over twenty four
hundred dollars for family of four with all taxes angertuities,
and that includes meals, and that's roughly six hundred dollars

(38:05):
six h nine per night is what it was. And
so for family four that's really good and Norwegian. Also
they usually have a lot of deals on like free
at Sea. It's a promotion that they call where they
give you a drink package and it's way more affordable
than like the drink packages that you can get on

(38:25):
Royal Caribbean. So that's definitely a good option for that.
They do also usually have like buy one, get one airfare,
so like I just booked one for someone.

Speaker 2 (38:36):
This past week, a huge help.

Speaker 3 (38:39):
Yeah, So one thing you have to know about Norwegian's airfare,
if you do take their airfare, it is very restrictive,
like you can't if you want to select your schedule
then they're going to charge you a lot more for that.
But so I did one earlier this week, like I said,
and basically for two people flying from Boston to San Juan,

(39:02):
they paid nine oh eight total for airfare, which is
a very good price. Now Norwegian will assign that schedule
to you they say thirty days out. It usually happens
like seventy five to one hundred days out, and you know,
you may get a schedule that has you know, one
or two stops. But it definitely is a more affordable way,

(39:24):
you know to fly to your cruise pord.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
So love that. Love that.

Speaker 3 (39:28):
Yeah. Now a few other tips on maybe how you
can save you know on some airfare. I always like
to check, especially if you're not coming from a hub.
So like if you're coming from a hub like Charlotte,
this is not really going to be applicable. But like us,
we live in Charleston, South Carolina. So I do usually

(39:48):
check one ways a lot of times because sometimes you know,
you might find that the round trip on American, well
that's you know, you explain this, that's more expensive.

Speaker 2 (39:58):
Yeah, when you say one way is you're gonna book
to one Way, See, that's essentially creates a round trip,
that's what you're doing.

Speaker 3 (40:04):
Yeah, so we like might fly down on American and
then back on Delta or you know, something like that.
So always check that because sometimes you can find a
decent savings doing that.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (40:16):
Some other ways too, So for if you're in you know,
locations like Philly or Orlando, Saint Louis where you have
some even Atlanta some discounted fair options. So like Spirit
and Frontier Airlines now just you know you need to
compare that to after all of their fees, what it

(40:39):
would be to fly you say, American or Delta. Frontier
now offers a they call it a biz fare and
it includes like your seats and the baggage, and so
it ends up being a decent price and you're actually
better off to book book that fair than the base
fair and then add on all of the seat because

(41:00):
they charge seventy five dollars for a check bag or
carry on back.

Speaker 2 (41:03):
Yeah that's where they get you. Yeah, that's where they
get you.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
But just know that they're like Frontier offers the biz
fare now and it bundles it together and its overall
is a lot less.

Speaker 2 (41:13):
So love it.

Speaker 3 (41:15):
Also, you've probably heard us talk about this. If you
you know, if you'd hate early morning flights like we
do hate them, always check to see if, like maybe
you overnighting somewhere could be a significant saving.

Speaker 2 (41:29):
So like such a hack that we love taking advantage of.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Like it's not always true, but a lot of times
you can save some money that way. I mean you're
gonna if you say a hotel cost, but it's.

Speaker 2 (41:41):
Still if you like net it and you save a
couple hundred bucks. I'm doing that every time, Yeah, every
freaking time. It's like extending the vacation by day in
my opinion, and then you don't have to worry about flights,
Like the flow of the trip is so much easier.
The only thing is you might have a late flight
out that day you're leaving to get to your connecting airport. Yeah,
we never mind it. What I really don't like is

(42:02):
having the long, exhausting day of like waking up early,
making a couple connections, then getting to the resort. Finally
you're tired, too tired to do anything. This is a
great way to break it up.

Speaker 3 (42:12):
Yes, so, like there's where we are in Charleston. There's
a Charleston to Miami flight that leaves at eight pm
and then they will often have it paired with like
any you know, Caribbean connection, so yeah, you can overnight there.
Now a lot of times, you know, I get asked, well,
how did the bags work? So generally speaking, which I

(42:34):
have found this to not always be true, but if
your layover is less than twelve hours, they keep your bag,
So make sure you have a carry on bag, which
I'd always recommend if you can get away with that,
just travel with carry on, and then if it's more
than a twelve hour layover, then you have to pick
up your bag.

Speaker 2 (42:53):
Yeah, yeah, so love it.

Speaker 3 (42:56):
Yes, but that's kind of a few tips and a.

Speaker 2 (43:00):
Whole lot of good A lot of good options.

Speaker 3 (43:01):
Yeah, hopefully if you're like, okay, well maybe you know,
maybe we can swing it this summer a quick getaway.
We would love to help you find an amazing deal
for your for you and your significant other or your family.
You can go to pinac travel dot com, click your
quest a quote it comes directly to me, or assigning
to a DMS, or give us a called one hundred
sixty seven four three two seven eight love it all right?

Speaker 2 (43:25):
That brings us to question the day question of the day.
All right, here we go. What's one thing you always
pack but rarely use on vacation.

Speaker 3 (43:36):
Ah, that's a that's a.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
Great You're a heavier packer than me.

Speaker 3 (43:42):
So that is not true.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
That is big facts.

Speaker 3 (43:44):
That's I have gotten so much better.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
You have gotten better, but I'm still on average, definitely
lighter one hundred. That's not even a debate. We're not
even debate.

Speaker 3 (43:56):
I wholeheartedly disagree with you on that.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
We are even debaby. Please undebatable.

Speaker 3 (44:03):
Please with all your different flamingo shirts.

Speaker 2 (44:07):
And I get it down to the day, okay whatever,
that's why it's tough for me. This should be There's
got to be stuff that you.

Speaker 3 (44:14):
Don't use so one thing, and because I have one
of them sitting in front of me, that does come
to mind that I will like throw in my bag
at the last minute, but then I always forget that
I have. It is a wet bag, like a bag
that you can put like wet swimsuits and stuff. Oh yeah,
and I have one sitting right here on my desk, and.

Speaker 2 (44:34):
Yeah, we rarely, we never we forget we have that.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
Yeah, so that's good. I would think that's mine.

Speaker 2 (44:40):
I'm gonna say the only thing that I know that
it's like everyone packs that extra underwear. Everyone packs the
extra underwear. I never use them. I'm just not gonna
pack them. I'm just gonna roll the dice. It's fine.

Speaker 3 (44:52):
So there's all those memes out there, and it's like,
you know, you you pack like you're going to crap
yourself day of your vacation, like because of how much
extra underwear that you pack. I mean, you know, better
to be safe than sorry.

Speaker 2 (45:07):
Yeah, I'm just not gonna do it.

Speaker 3 (45:08):
Actually, so I actually have forgotten to pack underwear on
a trip and so oh me too. I had to
and like I think that scars you. So now you
just overpack for it.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
When I used to travel for work a lot, I
would I would forget that all the time. Yeah, not
all the time, but no, like things that you don't need,
I think too. Another one's like a nail clipper, Like
I just always have I always. I don't know why,
but I always have one in my toletry bag and
then I usually just clip my nails. I really don't
even need it.

Speaker 3 (45:37):
Yeah, and I you know, I've had this same bottle
of like travel sized lysol that I carry with me.
You never need it and I never use it, which
I really should.

Speaker 2 (45:47):
That's like a thing from COVID probably, right, Yeah, we
were traveling a lot during COVID.

Speaker 3 (45:50):
Yeah, but I still I still have it and I
travel with it.

Speaker 2 (45:53):
So you know, really, at these all inclusive resorts, you
really just need, like, you know, two pairs if you're
going for five nights, you could literally get away with
three pairs of shorts because you only wear your shorts
in the evenings. You're gonna wear your bathing suit most
of the day, right, right, So like you can get
away with like two good bathing suits, two good sunshirts,
three pairs of shorts. Do a gray blue and a

(46:15):
white or something, and then a polo for every night
and then you are good. And then because you can
wear your sandals to.

Speaker 3 (46:22):
Dinner, and then just some workout stuff.

Speaker 2 (46:23):
Workout stuff, yeah, package gym stuff like you Like I
could pack like super light and I've done it before.

Speaker 3 (46:28):
Yeah. So we have a big trip coming up that
it's gonna test our limits again.

Speaker 2 (46:35):
Oh, follow our Instagram and I'll show you when we're packing.
Who's the lighter packer? Okay, yeah, so fallows Instagram.

Speaker 3 (46:40):
Actually I am a way better packer though.

Speaker 2 (46:42):
Oh no, we're now we're debating packing qualities.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
Yes, and you have even said that you are you
will pack better than you like, I will visualize every
inch of that suitcase.

Speaker 2 (46:54):
That is true. That is true. And then it's just
devastating when you get flagged at security and you have
to like open up your back. Oh my god. And
then I'm like, oh god, I don't know my wife's
bag is going to blow up and stuff's and go
in the sky everywhere.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
Yeah, I know. It's like everything is packed so tightly
and perfectly in there, and you're gonna mess it up.

Speaker 2 (47:09):
Yeah, And then you get flagged for some like random
security thing you're like, oh no.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
That did happen on when we the last trip to Europe.

Speaker 2 (47:17):
I remember that.

Speaker 3 (47:18):
Yeah that was and Heathrow.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
Yeah, Heathrow. They got you. You were in that Heathrow line.

Speaker 3 (47:23):
No, but they got me blowing before and coming Yeah
back home. I hate that.

Speaker 2 (47:29):
Airport, that airport, Heathrow. You guys have got to get
people who security quicker. Yeah that was they were just
on the struggle bus. I know how important. I know
how important security is, so I get it.

Speaker 3 (47:39):
But like, well, and the whole plastic bag liquid thing, Yeah,
they have this one size plastic bag is actually very
small and all of your liquids have to fit in
that if you're taking carry on. Yeah, it's just a
it's not a good airport.

Speaker 2 (47:52):
Here's something that gets me.

Speaker 3 (47:53):
It's like, which I'm sorry if for to our British listeners,
but we've just.

Speaker 2 (47:58):
Well we just like we've had bad luck going. But
like another thing I don't understand, and I know it's
for safety reasons, but like I love my sense of
dye toothpaste and it happens to be like I don't know,
like three and a half or four ounces, it's a
little bit more. My argument is it is every time
I travel, it's never full. So the quantity of fluid

(48:20):
is less than.

Speaker 3 (48:21):
Still, it has to be less than three point four ounces.
You're container. But I've told you numerous times to throw
that out.

Speaker 2 (48:29):
And sometimes I get through and sometimes I don't.

Speaker 3 (48:31):
I don't know why it's such a waste. You should
just pack a regular carry on size.

Speaker 2 (48:36):
I mean, maybe I should start doing that.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
You make sure I have definitely have some definitely when
we go through London, I'm not risking it one of summer. Yeah,
So it just.

Speaker 2 (48:46):
Took forever for you to get the security, Like when
they took your bag. I mean there was like five
people in front of you, the.

Speaker 3 (48:51):
Head and then they flagged my hair spray for it
said bomb residue detected. It was like it was ridiculous. Yeah, yeah,
And it was just like the root spray to cover
up my gray roots.

Speaker 2 (49:03):
I remember speaking of that. I remember when I can't
remember what airport I was at, maybe it was Charleston.
Here I was doing something. I was doing something for
work before when I had my corporate job back in
the day, and I was around like construction. I remember
I was like around like I was in the field
and I was like around like a bunch of like

(49:24):
manufacturing equipment and things like that just happened to be
there that day and I had to fly out that afternoon.
So I go to the airport and they I get
randomly selected for them to like swab your cell phones.
And when I had my corporate job, I had two phones.
I had a work phone, I had a work cell phone,
and I had a personal cell phone yea too. And
they say, they said, give me we just you got

(49:45):
randomly selected for a cell phone check. We just need
to both check both your phones for bomb residue. I
was like, okay, sure, swab one positive, swab the second
one positive.

Speaker 3 (49:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:56):
They come back over and they're like, both of your
phones tested pos. Yeah. They took me back. I was
like no. I was like they were questioning me, like
how could this happen? I was like, you can check
my bag, check everything. I was like, I was at
a construction site where they were building things and I
was around probably like I don't know metal shaving, sustainless,

(50:17):
I don't know what could be. I don't know what
bombers A dude technically is, Like yeah, I definitely wasn't
around like dynamite or anything like that, but it had
to be something around all those tools that must have
been on my hands that I put on my phones
on it. But when they came back and said both
of your phones, I was like, oh man, this is
not good. And I'm like they're gonna think I'm some
terrorists or something. Now. Yeah, and I got through it

(50:39):
though we were okay, but that was a little there
makes your heart beat a little faster. When TSA is like,
come with us, and I was like, I don't know
what to say. I was like, I never I never
even touched the bomb in my life. Yeah, everyone's got
a travel story like, yes.
