I like it. Travel tip Tuesday sounds the best. I
like travel tip Thursday second best. Travel Tip Wednesday just
doesn't roll.
Speaker 3 (00:41):
Off the time I have been calling it midweek travel tip.
Or we can like start naming this like T T
T travel Monesday, wander Lust Wednesday or something. I think
Wednesday is a good day to put it out.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
It will take this conversation off here.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
Okay, So anyways, we are just coming to you to
drop a couple quick tips that you should know, especially
for this episode. If you are going to Europe at
some point in the very near future, or just you know,
planning a trip for next year because there's a couple
of new things on the horizon and something that was
(01:17):
implemented earlier this year. So starting October twelfth, there's going
to be a new European entry and exit system that
you just have to basically go online, fill out a
form and if it's if you're going to certain countries.
It's like thirty different countries within the I think they
(01:37):
call it the non Shingen Region. I don't know how
to pronounce that. But basically, if you're traveling to some
of the big ones most popular like Italy, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Finland,
any of those type places, then you need to go
online and do this. This starts October the twelfth. Now
(01:57):
next year there is going to be a system called
the ETIAS where you actually do have to apply and
it is a travel authorization where they are allowing you
to come. You submit your passport details and you have
to pay a fee. I believe the fee is going
to be around ten ten US dollars a person. I
(02:18):
could be off on that a little bit, so something
just to note there now, if you are going to
be going to the United Kingdom, actually Honda, let me
back up for the etias. So once you do apply
for that travel authorization, it's good for three years, so
then you don't have to reapply for it again. So
the UK introduced something like this, I believe it was
(02:40):
earlier this year. It's called the ETA. And you if
you're going to even be like transitting through so like
we have, you know, just flown in there, had a layover,
even overnight layover, you have to apply for this and
it is sixteen pounds in which is about like twenty
bucks person, and you have to apply for this or
(03:03):
you will not be allowed to board your flight. So
then this one is good for two years, so it's
also a travel authorization. A lot of people are calling
it a visa. These are not visas, but I guess
they kind of act like that, but they're technically not.
So again, this one's good for two years. So we
applied for our first one in April and then like
(03:25):
it was already connected to our passport for our trip
in this past August when we went back to Europe
and we didn't have to reapply and we were able
to check in. It was super easy. So just a
couple of new things on the horizon for European travel.
If that is something that you're going to be doing
in the very near future.
Speaker 2 (03:43):
