travel tip Tuesdays.

And you're going to get a shout out.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
Give a shout out on.
Speaker 3 (01:00):
The next podcast, and that's what it's gonna be. Okay, anyways,
what do we got here? Because I think you book
first of all, I know you book tons of destination
weddings each year for a lot of good reasons. They're
more affordable, it's a way, it's way easier to plan.
I think it takes a lot of planning burden off
the bride and groom.
Speaker 2 (01:16):
Yes, a lot of great reasons.
Speaker 3 (01:17):
We have a bunch of podcasts on why to do
destination wedding, but we want to give you some great
tips to think about while you might be planning a
destination wedding. I'll start with the first tip, real quick
contact Peniac Travel.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
We got your back.
Speaker 3 (01:29):
We book all a bunch of these things we can.
We can help you pick the best resort, destination, the
whole nine. We help you plan it so and we
have tons of great vendors and all these great Caribbean islands.
We can hook it up all right now, onto the
Caribbean Queen for some other tips.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
Okay, so a couple things that you should consider. These
are just top tips when you planning a destination wedding.
We're just going to briefly touch on them are you
gonna have children at your wedding, So you know, are
you going to be looking at an adult only resort
or a family friendly one. If you are not going
to have kids at your wedding, look at an adult's
only resort because that just makes the trip so different
(02:06):
and you don't want a bunch of kids running around
if you're not going to have any of your wedding.
Speaker 3 (02:10):
It does make it so much more romantic because when
you have a resort that is kid friendly, it does
take a little bit away from the ambiance. So is
a big decision though, because I know there's a lot
of friends you're going to invite that might have kids,
family members, so you can find both.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Like there are resorts that are very.
Speaker 3 (02:27):
Romantic too, But I'm saying more you may just have
lesser options if you have kids, So some to think about.
Speaker 4 (02:32):
Right, well, lesser options depending on the destination that you're
looking for, That's.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
What I mean. Yeah, it could potentially lesser options.
Speaker 4 (02:38):
Yes, So next up on the list is do you
want a legal ceremony or a symbolic ceremony? So all yeah,
pretty much like ninety nine percent of the destination weddings
performed in Mexico and the Demainican Republic are symbolic ceremonies
because it's very difficult to have a legal ceremony there. Yeah,
and so just you know, please note that. And how
(03:00):
that would work is if you do this symbolic, you
would basically handle the paperwork you here in the US
go to the courthouse. What's fun, though, is you'd have
two anniversaries to celebrate, two special days to celebrate.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Yeah, I think those are cool. I think it's fine.
Speaker 3 (03:13):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (03:13):
So next up, time of year that you're going to travel.
If you are planning on having a lot of guests
and you're trying to think about minimizing the cost for
your guest or just being somewhat price conscious for them,
time of year that you travel matters. So January through
April is going to be your most expensive time of
(03:34):
year to travel to a warm destination like the Caribbean
er Mexico, because everyone is trying to get out of
the cold here. Usually drops down a little bit in May.
I think May is a great time to have anything
in the Caribbeans. You don't have to worry about hurricane
season or anything like that, and the pricing is still
a little bit better than you would find in the
summer months. And then September through December, not over a holiday,
(03:54):
is going to be your most affordable time of year
to travel to a warm destination like this, one other
thing or really two other quick things I want.
Speaker 3 (04:04):
Oh we got more, so bonus.
Speaker 4 (04:07):
You also want to well, you also want to think
about you know, if you're say you're going to be
you live in like Seattle, Okay, and you're planning on
inviting like one hundred guests, but you want to get
married and like Saint Lucia, that is a very difficult
travel for people, you know, say from the West coast,
So you kind of need to also think about proximity
(04:28):
and what is easier, you know for guests if you
have you know, some traveling from the West coast, I
would say, So that's just something you think about. And
then also last, but not least, a lot of all
inclusive resorts offer preview wedding packages at a discount, and
like Sandals for example, it's called a test drive and
(04:50):
it is anywhere from uh five hundred dollars to seven
hundred and fifty dollars and you can go and test
out the resort you meet with the on site wedding team.
Basically do like your food tastings, cake tastings, plan everything
there where.
Speaker 3 (05:06):
It might be like look at different spots.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Yeaheah, and then you handle all of that on property
at a much discounted rate. And then if you come
back and you have a certain number of guests in
your group, then they'll give that cost back to you
that you paid for the room, not the airfare. But
so that's just one tip to note. Now not all
resorts will give that back to you based on the
(05:30):
number of groups that are number of rooms that you have,
but sandals will at least this is that information as
of twenty twenty five. Things can change so but a
lot of other resorts do at least offer some sort
of preview packages like Secrets Higatt Resorts all that. So
just a couple quick tips and things to think about
(05:51):
if you're thinking about planning a destination wedding. Like George
mentioned earlier, we plan a ton of them every year,
and we would love to work with you and help you.
We would handle all of the travel arrangements for your
guest as well as airfare, transportation all that, and we.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
May get totally stressed free.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
We can actually, you know, help help you send out
the instructions to everybody and like logistics and the whole nine.
We do so many of these things every year. Or
if you're not planning a destination twenty but you know
someone that might be soon, send this to a friend.
