Hey everyone, welcome back to another edition of the Note
Before You Go Travel Show, and we've got a show
for you today on this beautiful Sunday before Halloween.
Speaker 4 (00:32):
Halloween's here, So basically, it's the holidays.
Speaker 2 (00:36):
It's define the holidays.
Speaker 3 (00:37):
Halloween kicks off the holidays. And I've already ate half
of the freaking Halloween candy in the house because you
bought my favorite candy, yeah, which you haven't done in
years past.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
Okay, we've I bought like that one specific bag of it.
Speaker 5 (00:51):
We have a unique day.
Speaker 4 (00:52):
Yeah yeah, but I told you not to open it.
And then I literally busted George. I have not had
a single piece yet, and he left a wrapper of
the Halloween candy, which who leaves trash?
Speaker 5 (01:03):
Come on, like, don't leave trash round.
Speaker 4 (01:05):
I am sick and you are not, say yes, I am,
and he left a wrapper on his table by the
front door, and I was like, oh, you got into
the Halloween candy early.
Speaker 2 (01:13):
I'm ill, I have not been feeling good. You have
a minor Could I do it for the people?
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I am here for the podcast, and yeah, it's a
little more than a minor.
Speaker 2 (01:23):
Cult.
Speaker 3 (01:24):
I did test negative for the flu, and I did
test negative for COVID.
Speaker 2 (01:28):
I think I have a mono no, yeah, and that
the kissing disease.
Speaker 5 (01:33):
Okay, kissing lately, don't. I know.
Speaker 4 (01:35):
We have a lot of men listeners, so I hope
you don't take offense to this, but I feel like
every woman can relate to.
Speaker 5 (01:43):
Me with this.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Oh my god, here, men.
Speaker 4 (01:46):
Are such babies when it comes to being sick.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
That is not true.
Speaker 4 (01:50):
Like yesterday, George, you would have thought he was on
his death bed and he was taking his temperature every
twenty minutes. I'm not kidding. And he literally had no
no fever at all.
Speaker 3 (02:01):
But because the way I felt like I have like
a little bit of the body chills, and.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
He had, he would have bursts of energy like he's
totally normal. I legitimately had the flu at Christmas last year.
Speaker 5 (02:12):
It was horribly sick.
Speaker 4 (02:14):
And you're immediately you go to the Oh my god, I.
Speaker 5 (02:17):
Have the flu.
Speaker 2 (02:18):
Oh my gosh.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
Men are just so dramatic when it comes to be insiick.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
That is not true.
Speaker 3 (02:22):
We're not turning in this We're not turning this podcast
into a pissing contest about who has it worse.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Okay, but.
Speaker 4 (02:29):
Women have it worse dealing with uh men who have
a small cold.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
You see, That's that's the thing. You the the pain
is is only in the beholders. Were the only one
that can feel it. And yeah, I've been battling. I've
been battling you.
Speaker 5 (02:45):
You have a slight.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Cough, and and you know what I'm going on the boat.
See you sit there and say I'm bedridden. Here, I
am taking you out in the boat. You would Janet
will not miss a boat day. She and see Janet
doesn't know a docked the boat yet, so I always
have driven the boat. She would if I was on
my deathbed, she would put an ivy in me, wheel
chair me down to the dock, oxygen and everything out
(03:08):
of an oxygen in my nose, out of an ivy
in my arm hat.
Speaker 4 (03:11):
And she'd be like, Captain, you legitimately we're very sick
and had COVID or the flu.
Speaker 5 (03:15):
Obviously I would be.
Speaker 2 (03:16):
Like, I'm joking, but we're.
Speaker 4 (03:18):
Just gonna go out for a little sunset cruise because
it's basically like the last day that we can. Daylight
savings time hits next weekend, which is crazy. So it's
like this is kind of the last We've got so
much going on.
Speaker 5 (03:31):
I think it's the last day.
Speaker 3 (03:32):
We do have a busy week, so I'm traveling this
week too, so hopefully I'm better. Like if I'm not
better by if I wake up toesday morning and I'm
kind of in the same shape, I'm not going on
that trip.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
I'm just going we'll see not happening.
Speaker 5 (03:44):
I think you'll be fine.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
I will delay, delay, delay, or anyways, let's roll into
this awesome episode. So we have a great episode for
you today. It is holiday season. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:52):
Sorry, if you stuck with us through that, thank you.
Speaker 2 (03:54):
Yeah, let us get our banner out. I can't wait
for a Question of the day too.
Speaker 3 (03:58):
I've got some really good like hollow trivia question of
the day. It's okay, We'll be pretty good, pretty good. Anyways,
what are we.
Speaker 2 (04:03):
Talking about today?
Speaker 4 (04:04):
So since we are getting into the holidays, we're going
to talk about some holiday travel tips plus some kind
of last minute holiday I was about to say Halloween
holiday deals that I have found and just uh again,
some tips to kind of navigate traveling during this holiday season.
Speaker 2 (04:22):
So love it, love it, lava love it. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:25):
So there's a lot, because I mean we do this
every year, we do like a like a holiday. I
think we've done holiday packing list show, We've done tips
and tricks for the holidays, We've done holiday deals. This one,
we're gonna combine our best trips for our tips for
holiday travel, as well as some deals.
Speaker 2 (04:41):
There are some really good deals.
Speaker 5 (04:42):
By the way, they're actually like it is shocking.
Speaker 3 (04:45):
Because usually the holidays can be the most expensive time
to travel. We are seeing some really good deals.
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Yeah, I mean for what it usually is, Yes, what
I'm saying. So yeah, So, you know, generally speaking, when
you're traveling, since we primarily talk about international travel on
this podcast, when you're traveling internationally September through December, not
over a holiday, is your best time of year to
travel to beat the best price over a holiday, though Thanksgiving, Christmas,
(05:14):
New Year's is your most expensive time of year that
you can travel outside of like you know, Easter week
where it's spring break.
Speaker 3 (05:19):
But you found some gems. So we'll probably like talk
about like the actual deals that we found on the
back end of the show.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
We're going to start with the start with our best
tips and tricks.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Yes, which these kind of you know go and you know,
I would say remain standard for every single holiday season.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:36):
Yeah, but you know, one of the best things that
you want to plan for is always pack your patients
when traveling over the holidays and plan for delays.
Speaker 3 (05:46):
Yes, I mean, honestly, that's a good tip in traveling
in general. In twenty twenty four and going in twenty
twenty five, like airlines are still seeing record passengers.
Speaker 2 (05:56):
Airports are crazy.
Speaker 3 (05:58):
It's just like I think ever since COVID, it has
just been so busy on the airport. I mean I
walk in some airports, I'm like, my god, they need
to expand it. Like there's too many, there's too many people,
like like in the center, you know, they always say
like're the worst, Like you know, they're like we're about
to start boarding and then it says please keep like
the middle area going, like please stay away.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
From it and then people just crowd Yeah, and then
you know what else I saw the other day just
really irked me.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
I almost comment, and I don't comment on stuff on
Instagram and I'm not on TikTok.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
And someone made a video. I'm okay.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
Someone made a video about how they they're in like
group seven or group eight and they always board with
like group one or group two, and no one stops them. Yeah,
I'm like, and sometimes I'm I'm like, sometimes I look
around with group one and like, because I am my status,
I always have group on whether I'm whether I'm first class,
whether I'm coach.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
I always board with group one because it's like a
status thing.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
And sometimes these group ones, I'm like, there's like half
the freaking plane. And then I realize that the gate
agents aren't upholding the the the procedure. No.
Speaker 5 (07:01):
I did see though.
Speaker 4 (07:02):
There was an article that came out that American was
going to start like alerting, making like a I guess
an alert if you try to board when it's not
your group, so it's like embarrassing for you or something.
Speaker 5 (07:14):
I don't know. I saw that.
Speaker 3 (07:15):
Oh really yeah, Oh I don't know if I don't
know if we should take it that far the caagent
just to say, you know, now you gotta get to
the back of line or something.
Speaker 5 (07:21):
Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
You know, some people do it out of like they
just never travel and then they just hear now boarding
and they don't even know the group. Yeah, you know,
you do have like like usually on the weekends when
people don't travel, often you'll get a few of those
people that legitimately don't know. But to the people that
know and are doing that, that's not good. Yeah, you
gotta follow the rules, right Is that too.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
Much to ask?
Speaker 3 (07:42):
No?
Speaker 5 (07:42):
I don't think it's too much to ask.
Speaker 2 (07:44):
Yeah, just follow the rules. But with that being said,
now i's saw a travel tip. By the way, don't
do don't do what these instagrammers are doing.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
But you want to pack your patients because just traveling,
you know, during the holiday season, you do have a
lot of people who are not regular travelers, so things
can be chaotic and a little crazier than normal. So
just be patient and thankful that you're at least they're
here and able to travel.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
So absolutely, absolutely.
Speaker 4 (08:09):
Now, one of my best tips is I would say
if you can book the very first flight out to
your destination, because what that will do is God forbid,
if there are any sort of flight cancelations or anything
like that, it would at least allow you time to
get on another flight.
Speaker 5 (08:28):
Also, one thing you really want to.
Speaker 4 (08:30):
Look at is the if you do have to have
a connecting flight, look at the layover time, which some
of these layover times have been absolutely insane. They should
not be allowed.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yeah, too tight.
Speaker 5 (08:44):
Yeah, Like American has one.
Speaker 4 (08:46):
Connect tones Oh they have the thirty five minutes all
the time, and Charlotte they have one in Phoenix it's
twenty five minutes.
Speaker 3 (08:52):
That's this should be allowed. You shared not be alack,
I've go to miss your flight. That's so crazy.
Speaker 4 (08:57):
I mean you got to think if you have a
twenty five minute layover by the time, I mean generally speaking,
you do get to the gate, you know, with like
five minutes early, ten minutes early. But let's say if
you don't, you just get there right on time.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
But if you're on the back of the plane, if
you're on the back of the plane, then you are hosed.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Yeah, and then you have to go, you know, to
the other end of the airport. They close the gate
ten minutes prior to boarding.
Speaker 5 (09:22):
Your next flight.
Speaker 4 (09:22):
So if you've only got twenty five minutes, that means
you literally only have fifteen minutes.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
You are well done. You're not making it.
Speaker 4 (09:29):
You're not You're not making it, and it really should
not be allowed. I hope that at some point in
the future there, you know, is some sort of legislation
or something that doesn't allow that.
Speaker 5 (09:40):
I wonder, it's ridiculous, Like.
Speaker 2 (09:42):
What's the benefit to that.
Speaker 3 (09:43):
Yeah, I guess like they don't really think of it
as like in sequence of where you know what I mean,
Like they don't look at it like, oh, if they're
coming in from this hub and that layover is going
to be too tight, Like they don't look at it.
All they know is like you're coming in from here,
you need to go to here, and this is the
closest well what I have.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
And this is one of the things why I don't
think this is right and I don't like it is
they'll do that unless say they offer that flight at
like seven hundred dollars, but then one with a you know,
a more normal layover like two hours that when they're
going to charge you two hundred dollars more for and
it's like that's just kind of BS.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yeah, I agree that that's total BS.
Speaker 5 (10:20):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (10:20):
Now, when thinking about busiest travel days of the year,
so you know, something I would recommend, especially when traveling
during the on these dates is you know, arriving to
the airport earlier than normal, you know, expecting longer lines,
even for TSA pre check. I've heard, I've actually seen
several instances recently where the TSA PreCheck line is just
(10:41):
as long as regular line.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
So yeah, a lot of people like pre check and
a lot of major airports is getting like.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Clear now they have clear. Yeah, it's like we're just
going to keep uping the levels here we don't have
clear and no we don't. I don't think Charlotte have it.
Speaker 5 (10:56):
I don't think Charlotte has that.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I don't think.
Speaker 3 (10:58):
So.
Speaker 4 (10:59):
Yeah, So busiest travel days of this holiday season is
going to be the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and
then I think the past few years, uh, the Sunday
after Thanksgiving has been has had the record number of
travelers for the year on that Sunday after Thanksgiving. So
keep that in mind if you are going to be
(11:19):
flying anywhere on that day and driving too, because just
I mean, like us when we have traveled during the holidays,
just driving three hours away up to Charlotte area.
Speaker 5 (11:30):
It's yeah, the roads are slammed.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
Yeah, roads are slammed, and it's like it's it's a
very frustrating time to travel.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
It just is.
Speaker 3 (11:37):
And like post pandemic, it's just gotten amplified. Like traveled
now can be slightly inconvenient than what it used to be.
And then now you have the holidays, then it's like
double whammy.
Speaker 4 (11:50):
Yeah. And so actually the last two years we have
not gone home for Thanksgiving home to our families. We
have just shame on, stayed and had a low key Thanksgiving.
It was actually it was very relaxing and nice.
Speaker 5 (12:03):
But we are going to go this year.
Speaker 2 (12:04):
Yeah, yeah, we got to go.
Speaker 5 (12:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
Now, the busiest days of the year for Christmas travel
is going to be the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday this
year before Christmas. So if you are traveling that weekend before,
which I imagine a lot of people will be, then that
is going to be your busiest time.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Christmas on a Wednesday this year, uh Wednesday.
Speaker 5 (12:24):
Yeah, it is on a Wednesday.
Speaker 3 (12:25):
Yeah yeah, Yeah, that's a tough day, but it gives
you flexibility either stay late or going early. Yeah, so
that'd be the debate, do you or stay even super
long take the whole week?
Speaker 4 (12:36):
Yeah, I think most people are with it with Christmas
being on Wednesday and New Year's Eve being on Wednesday,
Like New Year's New Year's Day is on Wednesday, So
New Year's Eves on a Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Yeah. Interesting.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
So anyways, now when you're looking at trying to say, hey, okay,
I I've decided I want to take a trip because
of these great last minute deals that we're going to
be telling you about towards the end of this podcast,
and you're like, well, how can I get a deal
on airfare? So airfare is tricky around the holidays because
(13:08):
the closer you get to the holiday is generally speaking,
the airfare usually rises in cost. So if you can plan,
you know well well in advanced airfare for most major
airlines comes out eleven months before travel, then I would
highly recommend that you book as soon as possible.
Speaker 3 (13:26):
If you haven't, If you haven't booked by now and
you're traveling like this holiday season, you better book asap.
Speaker 5 (13:31):
Well.
Speaker 4 (13:32):
I mean, maybe you want to take advantage of some
of these deals that we're going to talk.
Speaker 2 (13:36):
About true and travel and we can get your book.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:39):
So you know a couple of ideas and recommendations when
you are searching for flights and trying to find the
best deal.
Speaker 5 (13:46):
So my best tool that I use is Google flights.
Speaker 4 (13:49):
Yeah, so just as simple as that, completely free Google Flights.
You can put in alternative airports. So if you have
airports near you, So let's say if like you're right
in the middle, you know, between Like let's say if
you live in Greenville, South Carolina. Yeah, you know, and
you are right in the middle where you could go
to Atlanta, or you could go to Charlotte, you know,
(14:11):
or you know, even a different airport. But you can
put in multiple airports and have it search that and
it will pull up and tell you, you know, what
the best price and flight is now. I would also
recommend when you are searching for this to search a
round trip ticket, but also search to one ways so
(14:32):
going there.
Speaker 5 (14:33):
And coming back.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
That's I love that.
Speaker 4 (14:36):
Also search a multi city as well. I just had
someone who they were piecing together their trip and was
just looking at all one ways. Well two of the
legs we ended up booking as a multi city and
it saved like seventy bucks a person, So you definitely
want to check that. Another idea, which if you've been
a long time listener to the show, you've heard us
(14:57):
talk about this, look at something with an overnight layover.
It could end up saving.
Speaker 2 (15:02):
You, Yeah, drastically absolutely.
Speaker 5 (15:04):
So those are just a few tips.
Speaker 4 (15:07):
Also, you know, when maybe if you're coming home and
you're or you're looking at a return flight and like
coming back into the same airport that you leave from
is so astronomically expensive, well maybe look at what it
would be going into a different airport and then renting
a car and now, actually.
Speaker 3 (15:24):
There's airports within an hour or so ninety minutes. You know,
there's airports all over the place.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
Yeah, and normally I would not you know, recommend something
like that because there's not going to be it would
normally not be like.
Speaker 5 (15:37):
That drastic of a difference.
Speaker 4 (15:38):
But I have seen it for you know, holiday flights specifically,
where you know you might have a ticket at like
fifteen hundred dollars apiece, but like just changing something as
little as that you might save you five hundred bucks.
But if you if you're a family of four, that's
saving you two thousand dollars.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Absolutely, so absolutely, and then you get a one hundred
dollar round car and it's a great deal.
Speaker 5 (16:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (16:02):
So just you know, those are a few things to
consider in ideas to help you save but possibly save
a little money, because one thing I absolutely can't stand
is overpaying for flights. It's such an unnecessary thing. Uh,
you know you're gonna overpay, like pay on accommodations and
get something you know, not not flights.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
So yeah, I agree hundred I think there's a great
tips and book early get creative and we're dropping like
the note for travel tips, like this is what we do.
We're telling you what we do when we both travel,
and you'd be surprised. I mean you get out there
and really start looking and hunting and pecking and changing
the the rivals and destinations and returns. I mean you'd
be amazed what you can find. You get a little creative,
(16:44):
but the potential is definitely there, So don't always accept
that first fair that's through the roof, you know what
I mean.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Yeah, Now, a couple of other things to consider if
you can. I know, traveling during the holiday season with
especially with you know it being winter, it can be
hard to try light. But if you can travel with
just a carry on, yes, please highly recommend it. It
makes your life so much easier, especially should something go wrong.
Speaker 5 (17:11):
With your travels.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
And if you're if we're talking about Christmas travel, it's
better to ship your gifts in a box, yeah, because
a lot of people say, well, how a man, any
of my gifts there?
Speaker 2 (17:19):
Just ship them? Yeah, ship them in a box.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Wherever you're going, and and you know, just tell them
not to open it because it's obviously the Christmas gifts.
But that just makes you know, if you have that
carry on and there's a flight chain, which there's gonna
be a lot of them this year, that makes it
so much easier to deal with then worrying about where
your bag is with all your stuff in it. Yeah,
you know that's gonna be obviously we talk about this
tip coming up here, But get insurance. Look at looking
(17:44):
insurance guys, because like, there will be more delayed flights,
there will be more missed flights, there will be more
lost bags just around the holiday season based on pure demand.
Speaker 4 (17:54):
Yes, and uh so what travel insurance does cover you,
you know, baggage delay? Uh if there is a trip
interruption and let's say you miss part of your travels
because your flight was canceled due to a snowstorm somewhere. Yep,
then you can file a claim to be reimburse the
mist part of your stay. So travel insurance, I highly
(18:16):
highly recommend it, no matter if you're going on a
big international trip or something, you know, just a domestic
It's worth its weight in gold, especially when you need it.
So oh yeah, I would definitely recommend that. Now, speaking
of whether a couple other things is you know, let's
say if there might be a looming snowstorm, way to
change your flight. If you can, the airlines usually will
(18:38):
issue a travel waiver, so then it allows you to
change to an alternative travel date at no additional cost.
Even if you book a basic economy ticket, which I
don't recommend basic economy. Always try to booking a refundable
or flexible fairs.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
So yes, yeah, don't don't book the basic economy or
non refundable. That just we have heard so many horror stories.
We've had people call us to try to get them
out of a mess because they booked basic economy exists
a little bit cheaper. At the end of the day,
it's better just go at the normal rate. The flexibility
it allows, especially during the holidays, is just as worth
(19:13):
its weight in gold.
Speaker 5 (19:14):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (19:15):
Now, last of my travel tips before we get into
some deals.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
We got some good deals. That's the fun stuff to
I mean, these are the fun.
Speaker 5 (19:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (19:23):
So, if you're traveling internationally and you do not have
global jury, I would highly recommend downloading the mobile passport
app BINGO.
Speaker 5 (19:32):
It will help to.
Speaker 4 (19:33):
Expedite you through customs and immigration on arrival back into
the US, so you can get through quicker. And again,
it's going to be a busy travel season, so if
you can save some time by doing that, I would
highly recommend.
Speaker 3 (19:48):
That download all your apps, like download the if you're
flying Delta, American, whatever you're flying, download all the apps,
and then you can literally just get your ticket on
there a full twenty four hours in advance when you
can check in and then you got your ticket and you
know where you're going, kind of like if you don't
travel off and do the basics like know your gate, no,
you know, get your ticket on your phone, don't like
(20:09):
wait till the last minute when you're walking to the
airport trying to download your ticket and download the app.
Speaker 2 (20:13):
Better just do that beforehand.
Speaker 4 (20:14):
Yes, yeah, So that kind of sums up our travel tips.
So before we get into the some of the last
minute holiday travel deals, we're going to take a quick
commercial break and we will be right now.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
We're talking about Caribbean and Mexico travel deals. So if
you don't want to go home to family, stick around
thirty seconds.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
We'll be right back. All right, we are back.
Speaker 3 (20:34):
Thank you for sticking with us. I am just battling through.
You got to be so proud of me.
Speaker 2 (20:39):
Oh jeez, I'm a fighter. This is what we do.
Oh please, I can never get sympathy from you, Yes
you can. Yeah, when I'm dying, I'm literally you're like.
Speaker 5 (20:52):
More than you know, like you have a cough.
Speaker 2 (20:56):
You don't know how I feel. Okay, whatever, only me?
Speaker 5 (20:59):
All right.
Speaker 4 (21:00):
So we're going to get into some of our some
great travel deals that we have found for traveling over Christmas.
And this kind of came about because I was helping
a client looking at traveling originally right before Christmas, and
then we were kind of playing around with the dates
and it actually ended up being a lot less to
(21:22):
travel December twenty second through the twenty seventh, so which.
Speaker 5 (21:28):
Is very this is kind of rare.
Speaker 4 (21:30):
So that's why I was like, well, this might would
be something good to talk about. So, you know, everybody
has family issues that you may or may not want
to go back home to during the holidays. So if
you have decided that maybe you don't want to deal
with that this holiday season, then maybe these are for you.
Speaker 3 (21:47):
So just tell the fam Hey, guys, we have a
trip planned and that's what we're doing for the holidays,
and we've got deals for you. And usually this is
by far the most expensive time in the year to travel. Yeah,
Like I think contrary upon belief, I think there's like
people just assume that, oh, like no one travels during
no one like everyone goes home for the holidays, no
(22:08):
one goes to a great beautiful resort in the Caribbean.
Actually it's the exact opposite, right, Yeah, so, but so
because everyone tries to go to the holidays, rates are
really high. But you got Benyon of Travel here about
to deliver someone the best deals that we can find
at some of our favorite resorts and without further ado,
And we're not ranking these top to bottom.
Speaker 4 (22:29):
Yeah, I'm not ranking these at all. I just want
to go through them because I thought that they were
pretty freaking good.
Speaker 2 (22:34):
In no order, yeah, in no order.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
So Sandal specifically is having some great last minute deals
where if you book during Christmas week four or five nights,
you get one night free.
Speaker 5 (22:46):
So this, this.
Speaker 2 (22:47):
One's a great, crazy good deal.
Speaker 5 (22:49):
Yeah. So this is where this one came up.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
So I was able to actually get the get a
lower level room category, one of their leading room categories,
for less. But now it's sold down, so I can't
tell you what it would normally be. But right now
they have a room at Sandal's South Coast least expensive
December twenty second through the twenty seventh. If you wanted
to go to Jamaica, then we could get you in
(23:13):
for six oh four per night. That's for two people
for a couple, oh wow, and over the holidays.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
That is that's crazy crazy good deal.
Speaker 3 (23:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (23:20):
And so then if you were to just shift it
by one day and go the twenty third to the
twenty eighth, it jumps up to seven eighty five per night. Ooh,
so that's a significant savings over that amount of time.
Speaker 2 (23:34):
Link in the description get a hold of us guys.
Speaker 5 (23:36):
Yes, and if you.
Speaker 4 (23:37):
Look through if you go to their website or if
you just contact us, I would be happy to help.
Speaker 5 (23:43):
You with this.
Speaker 3 (23:43):
But and we'll do the flight thing for you too.
We'll find your flights, we'll play the flight game. We'll
be able get you your best deal on flights.
Speaker 4 (23:49):
Yes, so they have a spot for last minute deals
where you can actually search like different check in dates.
Primarily the majority of their deals are in Jamaica right now.
That's what they've really been trying to drive business too,
So that's where you'll see the majority of it. So
just keep that in mind.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Jamake us perfect for like a holiday getaway.
Speaker 3 (24:08):
Oh gosh, because I feel like I feel like Jamaica
is a country really celebrates Christmas really well. Yeah, and
the people are just so friendly and like it's just
such and the weather's gonna be good.
Speaker 2 (24:18):
Yeah, that's a. That's a that's a great spot for
a holiday trip.
Speaker 5 (24:22):
Yes, absolutely so.
Speaker 4 (24:24):
There is a new resort, new adults only resort in
Cancun called Hyatt Vivid.
Speaker 5 (24:31):
Uh.
Speaker 4 (24:31):
It's not directly like there's not a great beach there.
Speaker 5 (24:35):
I don't.
Speaker 2 (24:36):
Is it all inquis Yeah, it's all inclusive. I've heard
about this one. Wait, this is new to me.
Speaker 5 (24:39):
Yeah, we've talked about it.
Speaker 2 (24:40):
High vivid, oh, high vivid Grand Island, Grand Island. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
of course, of course.
Speaker 4 (24:45):
Yeah, so I know it is highly high grand now
right now, this same week they have up to seventy
five percent off and wow, the pricing for two people
for a couple five fourteen a night.
Speaker 3 (24:58):
Yeah, this is the resort that has that super for
a huge pool both on the rooftop and that the ground.
I think, awesome pool.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
Yeah, it's not on the beach or maybe there's just
no beach.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
There's no beach.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
It's kind of like, I mean from from what it's located. Yeah,
from we can tell like there's a golf course really
close by, which which I love. And then yeah, there's
not much of a beach at all. It's mostly like
greenery like like kind of mangrovy. It looks like, yeah,
where the beach is supposed to be, so you can't
really get on the beach there. Yeah, but hey, that's
why the pools are nice.
Speaker 5 (25:25):
Well five fourteen at night though, that's fantastic.
Speaker 2 (25:28):
Yeah, I agree, fantastic deal.
Speaker 5 (25:30):
Yes.
Speaker 4 (25:31):
Now, El Dorado Resorts, so those are some adult only
resorts in the Cancun area two people five thirty six
per night, another great deal, and then looking at some
family options. So speaking of Sandals Resorts, so Beaches Resorts
does also have a few last minute deals that I
pulled for you. They don't have as much availability, so
(25:54):
these are on like higher room categories like concierge.
Speaker 5 (25:57):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (25:58):
One thing I do want to say is if you
are looking at the Sandals last minute deal like oh
and if I can get like my military discount because
they normally offer that, you know, then wow, this is
a really good deal. Unfortunately, they don't allow you to
stack or combine military discount with their.
Speaker 2 (26:15):
Last night deals. Yeah, that's pretty common.
Speaker 4 (26:17):
You can with like their triple sevens and other deals,
but not with this.
Speaker 5 (26:21):
So something to know.
Speaker 4 (26:22):
But Beach is and a grill for a family of three.
And this was over Christmas fourteen hundred and fifty seven
per night, whereas regular price it was seventeen sixty six
per night for the same room.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
So that's a pretty good deal.
Speaker 2 (26:35):
Great deal.
Speaker 4 (26:36):
Yeah, Turks and Caicos. They're also offering that Beaches Turks.
Uh their room category was there at one of their
one bedroom concierge suite, so this seems high, but for
two adults and I believe this was two kids, seventeen
hundred and twenty four dollars per night.
Speaker 2 (26:53):
But family of four, yeah, bad Beaches Turks is awesome.
Speaker 4 (26:56):
Yes, standard price of that is going to be a
lot more.
Speaker 2 (26:59):
You have an old law on beaches Turks.
Speaker 4 (27:01):
Yeah, which we're gonna do for sure, to go back
to beach. We need to get back to Beaches Turks
because it's been a while since we've been. I know
they've added, they're adding like a whole new village.
Speaker 3 (27:10):
And the restaurants there were just amazing, like the options,
there's a lot to do. Yeah, yeah, I remember that
place had the kids swim up bar. It was like
all the soda machines and stuff. I thought that was
pretty cool.
Speaker 2 (27:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:21):
Uh So back to moving back to Cancun. So Dreams
Natura right now has a sale up to eighty two
percent off. So family friendly resort, hard Rock rivere A
Maaya has a kid's free promotion, which they do a lot.
Speaker 5 (27:36):
They do that a lot.
Speaker 4 (27:37):
But yeah, like I looked for Christmas Week and for
a family of four, two adults, two kids, you could
go for nine to forty six a.
Speaker 2 (27:45):
Night that's not and my gosh, that's not bad.
Speaker 4 (27:47):
Yeah, and that there's no restrictions on like how many nights,
so you know you.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
Could stack up.
Speaker 5 (27:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (27:54):
Absolutely, So I mean these there definitely are some deals
out there, and I I definitely think you know, if
say you're not getting along with your family over politics,
I'm sure everybody's ready for politics to be over and
done with. And you're like, oh yeah, maybe this Christmas
we're just going to get out of town.
Speaker 3 (28:12):
It is election here, and I think everyone's ready for
politics just be over. It's all like this time of year.
It comes every four years. It is literally everywhere.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
That's why I love this podcast because we never bring
it up. I don't want to talk about.
Speaker 3 (28:24):
Politics, oh gosh now, because just everyone's talking about it
at every angle.
Speaker 2 (28:27):
It's everywhere.
Speaker 3 (28:27):
No one's ever going to agree, no one's ever going
to agree, and it's just like it's just chaos man.
Speaker 5 (28:32):
Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (28:33):
So if you're like, oh yeah, I don't want to
go see my crazy uncle Randy, I'm going to go
to can kuon instead, we got you.
Speaker 2 (28:40):
I might be the crazy uncle Randy though, Yeah, maybe,
so come home and see.
Speaker 4 (28:44):

hundred and six seven four three two seven eight. We
would love to work with you to plan that last
minute holiday vacation.
Speaker 2 (29:12):
Yeah. Question of the day, What am I doing? Oh
my god, I say, I'm off my game because I'm sick.
Am I battling through this? Here? We are? Are you
ready for You're.
Speaker 5 (29:19):
Gonna be like he totally sounds like fine because.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
I'd pumped myself full a day.
Speaker 3 (29:23):
Quill I had to stop the podcast in podcast go
put a cough drop in so I would sound like
I'm just like nasally and disgusting. Anyways, we had a
fun one for the week of Halloween. We got a
fun one, okay, and I've got some like rapid frat
blah blah, rapid fire random Halloween questions, So trivia Halloween questions.
Speaker 5 (29:44):
Oh gosh, I don't like trivia.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
And this is random stuff here I'm not good at
thinking on my feet. You don't have to think on
your feet. This is pretty pretty simp stuff. Okay, okay,
ready for this? Sure, which US state produces the most pumpkins?
Some of our listeners might know this. I didn't know this,
and I didn't know a lot of these.
Speaker 4 (29:59):
So which produces the most pumpkin?
Speaker 2 (30:02):
Yeah? Which one?
Speaker 5 (30:03):
Maybe a farm like Nebraska?
Speaker 2 (30:06):
Illinois? Oh, I was closed, you were close? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (30:08):
Okay, And here's an interesting one, I think. Now I'll
give you a hint. This one did fall in very
recent history.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
Okay, And I don't know why this is special.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
Maybe this doesn't happen very often. In What year did
Halloween fall on a Sunday?
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Tip? Is it's fairly recent?
Speaker 5 (30:24):
Yeah? I was gonna say that was recent because.
Speaker 2 (30:26):
I think you probably remember it's on.
Speaker 5 (30:27):
A Thursday this year. So twenty nineteen.
Speaker 3 (30:32):
Oh, close, twenty one? Oh, it was twenty one, twenty
twenty one? All right, What day of the week is
Halloween most likely to fall on? I don't know how
this works, yeah, because I'm not a big you know,
study or the calendar. But that doesn't make that seems
this is a question. This is a real question what
day of the week is it? Most likely Saturday? Which
(30:55):
candy is considered the most popular during Halloween in the
United States.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
Reese Cups bingo nice, very good? Uh, we had we
didn't a few more.
Speaker 4 (31:06):
Mention what your favorite Halloween candy was. Oh, cookies and
the cookies, cookies and cream.
Speaker 2 (31:11):
God, I used to love when I was a kid.
I used to love that.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
And they're so good.
Speaker 3 (31:14):
I don't eat them, like my diet's really clean, but
like you brought that whole bag, I'm like, I'm gonna
have to tear into that. Yeah, although I don't really
have a sweet tooth anyway. Oh yeah, great, anyways, all right,
all right, this one was interesting. I was a little
disappointed by this. I guess I'm not surprised, but like,
this is kind of a scary number. How many calories
(31:35):
are in the average trick or treaters Halloween candy hall
every year? What is the average calorie count of the
average trigger treaters hall?
Speaker 5 (31:45):
Uh? Ten thousand?
Speaker 2 (31:47):
Really close? Eleven thousand. Oh wow, that's a lot of.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Calories gonna see, would think, Yeah, most trigger treaters get
about one hundred pieces on average. Pretty good, but you know, yeah,
to be a kid again, where like you could eat.
Speaker 2 (31:59):
That eleven thousand calories the average hall and like.
Speaker 4 (32:03):
It would not affect you at all, but gosh, that's
a lot of sugar.
Speaker 3 (32:07):
All right, three more, here we go, and some are
travel related. Okay, what is the most popular Halloween costume
for adults? Which that was quick.
Speaker 2 (32:17):
And that's correct.
Speaker 3 (32:19):
Okay, right, which country is credited with originating Halloween traditions?
Speaker 2 (32:27):
We have? I don't think we've been in this country,
so no, we haven't. Oh, it is a country in Europe.
It's a country in Europe.
Speaker 5 (32:35):
A country in Europe that.
Speaker 2 (32:39):
Maybe we've flown through here, but I don't think we've
been here. Nope.
Speaker 5 (32:43):
Did you say we've flown through there? Germany?
Speaker 2 (32:46):
Nope?
Speaker 3 (32:47):
Give you one more, guests, I'll give you the answer.
This is kind of a celebratory, like this is a
fun country.
Speaker 2 (32:52):
They celebrate a lot.
Speaker 5 (32:54):
Germany.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Ireland, Ireland.
Speaker 5 (32:56):
Oh I just said Germany, right, yeah, Ireland?
Speaker 2 (32:58):
All right, here we go. And then this is one
I knind have guessed.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Ireland.
Speaker 3 (33:03):
I don't know if you'll get this one. Here's the
only tip you're gonna get on this one. I'll be
shocked if you get this one, because I was shocked
by this too. The tip is, we have been to
this country. In which country do children celebrate Halloween by
dressing up as witches and going door to door for candy?
So I guess all the kids dressed up as the
same thing. They all up as witches. We have been
to this country? Which country? And we've been in a
(33:24):
lot of country that's gonna be tough. We gotta really
think about this. I mean, once I saw the answer,
I was like, I can see.
Speaker 5 (33:30):
That Netherlands close. Okay, I'll give you a couple more guesses. France, Finland, Finland.
Speaker 2 (33:40):
The Finns.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
Okay, So I guess all the kids, all the finished
kids dressed up as the same.
Speaker 4 (33:45):
Speaking Netherlands because they're you know, they have like some
interesting other traditions, like with the Christmas shoes and stuff
like that.
Speaker 3 (33:52):
So yeah, that's okay, And that that wraps up our
Halloween Special question.
Speaker 2 (33:58):
Of the day.
Speaker 5 (33:59):
Okay, Well, I hope you all enjoyed that.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Yes, and learn something new maybe.
Speaker 4 (34:03):

doing that.
Speaker 3 (34:05):

the moment I step out of the studio. It'll be
erase from our brain.
