I know, I know. I was out there Bowie when
they had this. I was actually at a at a

so it was it was. It was busy, busy, busy

out there, you know, take advantage of this warm weather
because sometimes you missed that window. Next thing, you know,
(04:11):
it dips like in the twenties at night, you know,
once that sune.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
They're trying to hear.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Christmas l like, you know, sticking stuff in the ground,
in the ground. I'll never forget some of those those
those weeks, those weekends. I was trying to put uh
some Christmas tree or something in the ground, and the
ground was like solid hard.
Speaker 5 (04:30):
I was like missed it by Yeah, could be too.
Speaker 6 (04:34):
So this time because of the weather, Like the Christmas tree,
I wonder how they're gonna turn out for you guys.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
Yeah, yeah, I think that every well, those who like
to have live trees. I think right now the live
trees is gonna be looking pretty good in this region,
you know. I mean, we don't do a live tree.
We have them for a few years. We used to
do one in the basement because of make make a mess.
Speaker 5 (04:58):
It was no big deal.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
But now we don't fool with them live trees now.
So yeah, I messed my truck up one time, pulling
the thing off off the get. Yeah, I broke my Yeah,
I broke the window washer in the rear food with
their thing. Oh yeah, that was my last time.
Speaker 5 (05:20):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
Anyway, we're moving into the season. I mean a lot
of shoppers out there because we was out there all

it's Christmas decorations everywhere.
Speaker 5 (05:36):
You know, you came in the one store, you.
Speaker 4 (05:38):
Know, shoppers are out there buying. I think this is
when people are buying stuff for the house right now.
You know, That's what it looks like to me. People
to do you guys have home sense in home goods
and and okay, but it looked they got some really
(06:03):
nice stuff. I like the prices too, especially the prices.
Speaker 6 (06:08):

all tonight. You're doing all right.
Speaker 6 (07:05):
I'm doing good.
Speaker 8 (07:07):
Where are you from?
Speaker 9 (07:09):
I'm from Albilly, Georgia, but I lived in Jacksonville, Florida.
I've been to Jacksonville for quite a while, so.
Speaker 6 (07:17):
Jackie, okay, I could hear it.
Speaker 7 (07:20):
Georgia.
Speaker 6 (07:21):
It's a good thing. It's not a bad thing. Well,
before we begin wonderful fellowship time, can you tell the
audience who are you?
Speaker 9 (07:34):
Well, my name's Des Thomas. I've been doing music for
some time now. Started doing music early on in two thousand,
well early when I was a kid. But I'm trying
to move into a professional spell back in two thousand
and seven or eight, and I've been. I released the
project back in twenty seventeen, another one a couple of
years ago in twenty twenty two, and I just released
(07:57):
one this past summer. But just a man of God
trying to do music, you know, and you know, fulfill
my purpose, but just trying to answer the call in
this in a sense it's just talking about music. But
just a just a normal guy Jacksonville. Uh, you know,
grew up in Georgia, moved to Jacksonville, and and you know,
(08:17):
trying to take care of my family and uh but
I have a message. I have a ministry. So I'm
just trying to spread the word through the song.
Speaker 6 (08:24):
Oh that's beeniful. I love it. And you're so humble
with that. You wasn't saying I did this and this.
Speaker 8 (08:32):
You just I'm just, you know, a humble person who
loves the lore and taking care of my family.
Speaker 6 (08:37):
I love music, so how did you know that you
were in love with music?
Speaker 9 (08:44):
H So as a kid and my dad had paid
for my god brother to take me to a run
didn't see concert, and it had just been oh, don't
now that's my era, that's my yeah eighties. So you know,
so I just and then I come from a musical family.
I got musicians in my and my family a lot
(09:05):
of singers, a lot of guitar players, piano players, and
so so it's naturally just in my jeans. And so,
you know, the teenager, I dabbled in music, making mixtapes
and and rapping and stuff like that. And you know
that got older, I started to get equippment and started
to make make beats or you know production, and you know,
at some point I started you know, writing again and
(09:28):
and trying to put together some projects to try to
try to help people, try to teach people, just people
some information. Uh. But yeah, it's just been something that's
been a lot with my heart since I was a kid,
and you know, through growing up just love music. My
dad played a lot of music on the weekends, a
lot of parties and stuff. So it's just something I
grew up with.
Speaker 6 (09:49):
Awesome, and you mentioned that you started with mixtape. Tell
me some of your artists or your mix tapes, see
how good you are. They are like accept people. If
y'all don't remember Cassette.
Speaker 9 (10:04):
You know this is when I was bugging. You know,
this is Tupop Scarface. You know, no limits. Okay, you
know you outcast.
Speaker 6 (10:12):
You know it's okay, okay, okay, Doggie Fresh that you
gotta have Doggie Fresh now or Dongy Fresh. But now
the SOPs their friend because I understand. Well, I love
me some Tupac. So you got tubacc in there, you
got you said MC and scar Okay, Scarface, Okay, I
(10:35):
like star Face. Okay, okay, you got real people with you. Okay, okay, okay,
that's what up You know what, I don't look at
that as an interesting music. I look at people telling
their stories, and uh, you know, people don't live their reality.
So that's why a lot of people don't understand rap.
It's not negative. It's only a negative when you know,
(10:58):
you know, unfortunately you have artists one beefing at each other, but.
Speaker 8 (11:01):
Really they're just sharing their stories.
Speaker 9 (11:04):
That's what I love about perspective. Perspective. Yeah, you know,
we can make it negative, there are.
Speaker 6 (11:11):
One, So I guess you more Southern. You like the South.
Speaker 9 (11:17):
All day, yeah, you know, all day, blood and blood
out Georgia, Florida.
Speaker 6 (11:22):
Boy, you know, living in Atlanta.
Speaker 9 (11:25):
Yeah, yeah, but that's my taste, you know, so you
know out cants goody mom, you know. But but yeah,
of course I've goen up with the Lord for a while,
so you know, I try to switch it up to now.
You know, I still listen to my guys to talk
about God and you know, the word and things like that.
Speaker 6 (11:46):
So what what caused you to just do the transitioning
from I guess they call it secreate music. I just
call it music to gospel because I already to say
music as music and it just depends on what you're
wanting to hear. But you can learn from you know,
(12:07):
frees as well as gospel, right cause that transitioning, well.
Speaker 9 (12:15):
Yeah, yes was, We're right. So you know, the guys
I grew up listening to, they had industring perspectives of
the ones I understood because I was growing up in
that life. So you know, it did couse me to
tune in and get some information and that those guys
helped me out in their music, even though they weren't
talking about God, and it still helped me to gain
some kind of solid mindset about how I wanted to
(12:36):
approach life. But when I started making music for God,
it was you know, all that stuff was invented in me,
and and so it helped to shape, you know, my
thought process of one time got to know God. You know,
some of those things become reformed, you know, you did
get a little bit more wisdom and a little bit
more understanding. And so I kind of stopped listening to
(12:59):
everything for a while, you know, for a long time,
and because I was just trying to just seek God
and trying to find out more about Him and find
out more about myself through the lens of Him. So
you know, I started you know, going to church like crazy,
reading the bibble like crazy, praying, you know, just getting
more into my spiritual walk. So I stopped writing and rapping,
(13:20):
you know, for for some time. And then once I
did start back writing, I don't want to just continue
on with this. You know, once God changing your your
heart is really changed and become your thoughts formed differently.
So I don't want to talk about shooting up bang Bang.
I ain't want to talk about selling dope. I wasn't
doing that no more, you know what I mean. So
I really just trying to you know, I was about
(13:40):
the stuff that I was understanding at that time, and
that was the stuff for the word, and so really
just trying to share the word. Really just trying to
share God and the information I was gaining, you know,
I was it was a lot of information that wasn't
being talked about the music at the time I started
making my first project. So I wanted to make something
(14:00):
that can kind of give people that came from my background,
uh an understanding about God that whether it's so preachy
or whether it's so put together such in a form
to where it pushed people off, but it was it
was more information and more inviting instead of condemning. And
so you know, from there, you know, just trying to
(14:21):
trying to make the best music I can. I do
production myself, but I've you know, I work with other
producers and things like that. So really just trying to
put the information in the in the in the beats
on the beach. But I'm just really just sounds.
Speaker 6 (14:36):
Like you doing wow. I mean, I just I just
hear that passion in your voice when you talk about music.
So that's beautiful to hear. When you have your brother
or your sister's price loving what they're doing, that's beautiful.
That's a beautiful thing. So do you write your music?
Speaker 9 (14:57):
Yeah, I write. I write all my music myself, my
my verses. I write a lot of the singers parts
that sing on my songs. I write a lot of those.
Sometimes I go and get help from like my sister
if I need a hook or something some you know,
I've gotten help with some other artists when it comes
to hooks. But yeah, I write all my music when
I've been making all the beats, well most of the beats.
(15:18):
There's some beats on this last project that I didn't make,
but for the most part, yeah, I've been putting it
together myself.
Speaker 6 (15:26):
Awesome. Do you tell some of your stories from your
past and your sick.
Speaker 9 (15:32):
So I do, I now have. I've told some stories
on my first project, not full stories of I told
some stories on a couple of songs on that first project.
Speaker 6 (15:43):
Uh.
Speaker 9 (15:43):
Yeah, I told quite a few stories. I told all
of them. I think I told quite a bit of
on that first project. Yeah, so it's just in there.
My story is definitely in there all through that first project.
And the second project is more of you know, on
the line of peaching from the information that I've just
been receiven. But my first project, yeah, it got a
lot of my life story in there and just my
(16:05):
you know, my testament.
Speaker 6 (16:06):
Really for the listeners, what is your first project name?
Speaker 9 (16:12):
My first project is called Finally Free. Finally Free. You
can you can find it right now, a line anywhere.
You can just pull it up this Thomas finally Free.
It'll pull up. There's some information on there that can
help you if you're a new believer. There's some information
that's on there that can help you if you been
walking for a while and you just you know, struggling
with some things. That really is the gospel on there, really, truly,
(16:35):
it's the gospel on there. So you'll get a lot
of information on there as far as God and you know,
who He is and who we are, and just the
information that we you know, all this information we've been given.
How you can kind of put those things together and
get some understanding about life itself. But it's on there,
you know, you gotta do it. Just hit play.
Speaker 7 (16:54):
Hmm.
Speaker 6 (16:55):
That's awesome, that's real top right there, because you never
know what's listening. They're like, Oh, I love this man.
He is real and now he's telling his story. I
want to know more about him. How about your second project?
This is the name of that.
Speaker 9 (17:11):
So my second project is called Building wolf Pack. It's
a project venture I did. I would have business partner
online and it's uh, it's more of an NFT type
of project. It's it's it's it's for software app, you know,
called Building a wolf Pack, And it's basically some tools
on there as far as motivation information, motivation. But the project,
(17:35):
the brand itself is is really to help people in
the marketplace build a network, and it's talking about networking,
getting him, you know. But the project itself is talking
about just some motivational stuff to help you get up
and get your mind together and do something with your
life and that type of information. But it's on there.
Speaker 6 (17:56):
Okay, softmre. So what is your current project now that
you're working on?
Speaker 9 (18:04):
So this current project don't work put just previously released.
I end up going to the Bible College and I
ended up learning a whole lot of information about the
word and became just a Bible junky. Over the years,
and so it's so much information I had to learning.
And so when I talked to somebody about things of
the spiritual sense or biblical sense, or any any kind
(18:25):
of you know, I issue or stuff we have we
see in our society. These conversations are kind of put
in into music, but it's conversations about everything you could
think of. Stuff that's going on in society, stuff that's
going on about the Bible, all the different conflicts of
information that we're receiving, what people say about God and
people are rejecting Jesus. There's some stuff on there, praise,
(18:48):
some worship songs on there, and some songs that some
feel good songs that you know, they bump right in
the car. But it's more it's like more of a
a log of the you know, somewhere I was able
to document all the stuff that I've been learning over
the last four or five six years or whatnot for
(19:08):
me going to Bible College and just looking around at
the world and seeing all the stuff that's going on
and all the misinformation and just all the you know,
the just the different all the different issues we have
that we're dealing with in our society. I talked about
a lot of that on this project through the Lens
of a Believer. But it's on this project called Power
of the Mind.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
Okay, that sounds really good. And you mentioned that you
became a Bible junkie for what that ben? So, what
is your favorite book of books that you love to read?
Speaker 9 (19:41):
The Proverbs, Timothy songs, but songs can get kind of
you know, it's got like a wild range of stuff
going on in the songs.
Speaker 6 (19:53):
No music.
Speaker 9 (19:54):
Yeah, yeah, let me think Galadia, Romans, I mean.
Speaker 6 (20:03):
Romans, Paul writing. She's like Paul, yeah, Paul.
Speaker 9 (20:06):
Yeah, that's that's like one of my favorite characters authors
in the Bible. But Romans. But it's more of a
complex book. So I always say it's my favorite. But
but some of those books, but Proverbs the show, you know,
I look at Solomon's books with Romans is.
Speaker 6 (20:22):
More about uh discipline, part of ohan God. Yeah, Roman
is you know you have to keep reading that. You
can't say I got this. Yeah, keep well, I think
every day you have to read it. Yeah, it's never
like you've got it because it's always something different. Another revelation.
Speaker 8 (20:46):
That's so cool that you reading the Bible.
Speaker 6 (20:50):
Oh what do you do for fun? Outside of music.
Speaker 9 (20:54):
Outside of music, I mean, I like to enjoy my family,
my kids, this is my fam in general, outside of
outside of this. Uh, you know, I enjoyed anything audio, visual,
camera work. You know, it's got I'm a kind of
a tech person too, so uh, cameras, videos, you know,
(21:15):
I make videos, anything creative. You know, my daughters have
been drawn a lot. But anything creative really is my thing.
But music is a big part of that. But yeah,
the videos, visuals uh bottle you know, been found like
equipment from my video stuff. But you know, anything on
(21:36):
the creative side, that's more of my hobbies.
Speaker 6 (21:40):
That means, that means you know how to have fun
when you're taking a break from music, even though that's
hard for you too because you have music.
Speaker 9 (21:50):
It's good top you know, well kind of you know,
kind of came kind of obsessed with the music to
where I kind of during co but I kind of
shut down a lot of stuff. So no, you know,
I like going to the beach with my family and
stuff like that, but just really just going out and
being with them. It's your favorite beach, you said, my
(22:14):
favorite beach. Uh huh, oh, Miami is my favorite beach.
But I live in.
Speaker 6 (22:22):
Do you want to play Miami.
Speaker 9 (22:27):
To my Humbles or something? But just for us the
statement I like, my I like.
Speaker 6 (22:33):
But I here, I hear that it's different now that
it's COVID. Uh, Soft Beach Street is not the same.
You know they have put off where some more car shows.
Is that true? Because I used to let them know
car shows on Sunday.
Speaker 9 (22:52):
I haven't been in a while, so I don't know,
you know, I kind of became like an closed off
personal a little bit during COVID a little bit. So
I really I ain't been in a long time. I
started to go this year this past year for my birthday,
but we didn't go with the Temple.
Speaker 6 (23:08):
Okay, what are some of your favorite instruments when you're
making your tracks.
Speaker 9 (23:13):
And why so? So it's the piano and the guitar,
the electric guitar for me. Yeah, one of my favorite
producers was Tempci growing up. And so I you know
the Earth Winning Fire, you know, to show a lot
of the live Winning Fire.
Speaker 7 (23:33):
Okay, you know you okay, okay.
Speaker 9 (23:38):
Yeah, okay, yeah, and so so instrumentation, so I like
live instrumentation. So the piano and the guitar. Uh, this
is soulful part of the guitar. I like the acoustic guitar,
but also love the electric guitar for the sound of
the brain. With those a couple of my favorite instruments.
Speaker 6 (23:58):
I think you got some dope tracks, don't you. I
could tell with the piano and electric guitar. I know
it's okay, it's okay.
Speaker 9 (24:06):
Be confident, you know that's right.
Speaker 8 (24:13):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 6 (24:14):
And so when you're making music, how do you know
that you got the right track for that particular rap music?
And do you just do rap music? Do you do
all types of producing for different like soul, gospel and rap,
and you know traditional gospels such as you know, the
(24:38):
choir and then the solo artists. Do you do some
of those or do you just focus on on the
hip hop piece of.
Speaker 9 (24:48):
Well, so I love all music. About twenty twelve, I
was I was working at Kmart, a little part time
thing I was doing, and they used to play that
you know that they see they call it elevated music,
but they played the music over the over the store
and you can just hear different types of music. So
since then I don't I don't listen to alternative music
all kinds of different music. Uh, you know, not not
(25:11):
so much country, but you know, all kinds of different
music rock, and so when I when I make up
my music, I do try to well, you know, of
course I do rap, but I've tried producing R and B.
So what I'm getting at is I love all of it.
So I have had thoughts of doing some of the
(25:32):
more traditional church songs and stuff like that, to try
to bring some different rap like rapper to it and
just try to blend the two genres sort of say,
but I got ideas of making all of it, like
trying to make all of it. But all in all
it is it can be a difficult process trying to
(25:52):
craft to create a song simply because you know, the
different elements they have to be there, the extrum that
can't battle with each other. The words have to be right,
it has to be the right production. So sometimes I
find myself stripping stuff off, taking stuff, all, putting stuff,
replacing sounds and things. So it's it's not easy. And
(26:12):
you know they're about to.
Speaker 6 (26:14):
Say that I was just say that because people think
people didn't put it together. A rap song with the
track it's very easy. No, it's a flowing, certain way.
Speaker 9 (26:25):
Then it's not it's black.
Speaker 6 (26:27):
It's not easy.
Speaker 9 (26:29):
Yeah, it's a certain your.
Speaker 6 (26:31):
Words gotta be together, you have to be creative.
Speaker 9 (26:34):
Yeah, it's a formula that that has to be in place.
But it can be difficult and just a different types
of types of music, Yeah, they could be difficult to make.
So but I you know, I kind of I'm kind
of locked into the to the wrap part. But you know,
I'm trying to make dub stuff, reggae. I want to
do some of that, you know, some of the the
(26:54):
up deep stuff they listen to now it's getting popular.
That's trying to get into some of that too.
Speaker 6 (27:01):
Only surprised I started hearing house music gospel. I haven't
heard it yet or it is out there, but I'm
just loving. Yeah, I'm just loving the hip hop gospel
because I do love hip hop and I love the
fact that God doesn't have you in a book. You
(27:21):
have to do it this way to worship Me, and
you could use your talents that He has given you
to still worship Him. And that's a.
Speaker 8 (27:29):
Beautiful, beautiful relationship that we have with our Lord and Savior,
Jesus Christ. And with that being said, what did.
Speaker 6 (27:39):
What is your favorite Colonne.
Speaker 10 (27:41):
Why my favorite Colone? Probably I used to sell that.
Speaker 6 (27:52):
Okay, okay, that's what's un I was working at them all.
Speaker 9 (27:57):
Okay, Oh, I like Paul, you know, that's kind of
what I wear if I do wear something. But for
the most part, I kind of stopped wearing cologne too much.
Although you know, really during COVID I really went you know,
it was no need to put it on the list,
you know, just going somewhere, but we didn't really go
(28:18):
out a lot. But but yeah, those are I'm gonna
go to.
Speaker 6 (28:25):
Yeah that was I remember what I was selling cologne
many moons ago. That used to be sold out every season.
I'm sure it's still so it sells out very quickly.
Glad to get set and things like that, and people
like I want against that, but they're still going by
(28:46):
the tell the myself.
Speaker 8 (28:49):
People love those gifts boxes.
Speaker 6 (28:53):
Yeah that's. Oh. With that being said, you said, you
too music, and then you hang out with your family
when you're not doing music, So what do you do
for your mental health?
Speaker 9 (29:09):
So for my mental I actually had started going to counselors,
you know, talk about that. Yeah, yeah, I talk about
the therapy. I try to meditate, on the word too,
and try to just remind myself of what it says.
I know. That's that's the best form of therapy for me.
(29:30):
And besides writing these songs and getting some of the
stuff out of my mind, out of my mental you know.
But for the most part, the therapy did help me
try to, I guess I don't want to see navigate
through some of this stuff and kind of you know,
put some of this stuff in the proper place and perspective.
But it was helpful. But the but the word has
been my biggest you know, helper in that as far
(29:52):
as helping me having something to meditate on and kin
kind of help me shift the way I see things.
But that's that's some of the things i' look at it.
When I you know, when it comes to keeping my
mind in a good place, I try to make sure
that don't let anything that, you know, compromise my you know,
my peace and things like that. So I try to
(30:13):
make sure I keep my character right, you know. I
try to make sure I do right by people the
best I can. But for the most part, just trying
to keep a clear head and trying to let all
this stuff bog me down because there's so much stuff
that you know, you deal with on a day to
day basis, but you know, scriptures on the therapy cricture.
Speaker 6 (30:32):
Warfare is, spiritual warfare is every day WHOA, So, what
is your favorite scripture that you use for spiritual warfare? Uh?
Speaker 9 (30:44):
For spiritual warfare, I believe I will probably go to
Aziel forty one ten. I said, if you're not fine
with you, to not be unsettled, to not be dismayed.
If I will help you, I will stress you. I
would uphold you with my righteous hands. Find your God.
That does help me a lot, you know, that's one
(31:08):
of the biggest ones I go to when I have
It depends on what I'm what I'm dealing with, and
what I'm thinking about. But that's one of the ones
that kind of helped me get through a lot of stuff.
That's how I put my trust in God and things
like that.
Speaker 6 (31:23):
Yay thing. You ready for battle, You got your music,
you got your books that you love to read, and
of course you read the entire viable and you got
your scripture because you know it's coming every day.
Speaker 9 (31:40):
To give you some context. There After I put that
first project out, I think I think the enemy came
for me, you know, because I was talking about being
free and you don't have to be down and you
can get like if you listen to that project I'm
talking about basically that's help with helping people. And so
(32:01):
it's talking about you're gonna have to be the press.
It's talking about you could do this, you could do that,
understand the grace and the different things God provided for us,
and like really it felt a lot of information on
that first project. But after that, I think there was
an examination of me and said, okay, well you take
you free and so you know, COVID hit and all
(32:21):
these different things you know, were in the house for
a couple of years and just trying to protect my
mental but you know, the enemy comes in and you know,
start moving your thoughts around and you know, if you
don't deal with that stuff properly, you know it can
you can find yourself right back and yeah, yeah, you
find right back a bond this. So there's some definitely
(32:42):
some challenges you know, I dealt with, you know, mentally,
there's some things that you know, it's like some things
that I thought it had been free from that that
started like okay, well you're gonna have to really be
free from this. If you if you, if this your
you know, you will have to really be free. And
so all that stuff started coming up on it, and
(33:02):
I started getting tested and getting checked on certain stuff,
and that's why I started to learn the dang and
I really you know, I said it and he came
from me, and so it's like, okay, no, you got
to really stand on this stuff. You gotta really believe
this stuff, and you got to apply it. You got
to you gotta speak it to yourself. You know, your
your plan was to try to help save somebody else
(33:25):
or help somebody else, but not use it to help you.
And so sometimes I have to try to play it
back to myself to you know, encourage myself, you know
what I mean, because it's.
Speaker 6 (33:35):
Not the role with that if it helps because when
you tell, when you are like doing what God tells
you did, like tell people your story, you're releasing yourself
and you're releasing that on that stress and that burden,
and and you're helping someone who may be facing the
(33:56):
same thing. It's like you're passing it forward so you
can say, hey, I've been through this, this, this this,
and now you can do it too, and so the
enemy's like, you're telling me too much. Here I come
for you. So then you do another project that's beautiful
that you didn't give up because we in the spiritual
war here every day.
Speaker 9 (34:14):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's exactly right though. But yeah, so
you know, just trying to keep my mind clear and
just try to know, you know, try to keep everything
in balance, because that's a challenge within itself, but just
dealing with life and its problems and all the different
stuff that we have on a regular basis. Then add
on top of the ministry and the things that come.
Speaker 5 (34:34):
Along with that.
Speaker 9 (34:35):
But for the most part, you know, just trying to
keep my head clear and you know, believing that God
gonna preserve me, He gonna keep me. You know, he
talked about it in the book, but you know he
got me.
Speaker 6 (34:49):
I mean, one of your favorite stories, you're one of
your favorite songs that you wrote, and why.
Speaker 9 (34:55):
One of my favorite songs I wrote.
Speaker 6 (34:59):
And why because I want people go on the line
and research it. Insane. Oh, this is dope, es. You
can't play music anymore, so I gotta get people to
the website.
Speaker 9 (35:14):
You know, Tom, I bet it's dope.
Speaker 6 (35:19):
I would you don't have. You have so many, you
probably have a lot.
Speaker 9 (35:23):
So yeah, if I would say a favorite, I'm decided
to say a favorite. But I guess the one that
I wrote to my daughters. It's on Billy Your Wolf Pack.
It's called Radiant Praise, and so it's a it's a woman,
a woman empowerment song. But my daughter's one of them
name means praise and the other one in the middle
name or one of them name means radiant. So the name,
(35:45):
the name of the song was Radiant Praise. But this
is a song, a woman empowerment song. But I wrote
to them and their their voices are on it. But
that's probably one of my favorite ones, beca. It's something
that they have my my words, my voice, and me
telling them. I guess a broad scope of you know,
if I had to leave words for them to remember
(36:06):
me by, isn't that song.
Speaker 6 (36:10):
A vagacy? See you starting legacies and everything, So what
would you like for your legacy to be when when
God called you home?
Speaker 9 (36:22):
That's a that's a good question. That's then when it's
all said and done. I thought about this, you know,
just from my buildings were definitely understanding that everybody has
that time, and you know, of course you think about
your your favor at some point. And you know, I've
been to so many funerals and I get up to
here people say about other people and how they affected them.
(36:45):
Or it could be somebody that you thought was completely mean,
but there's somebody that that person blessed or was good
to or they had something good to say about them.
So all in all, when something said about me, I
think that it's gonna be a lot of people that
come for to say how much I bless them, how
much I was a blessed them to people. I know
(37:06):
the spact I have on the people that I personally
have relationships with, And I try to be as impactful
as I can because I know one day I won't
be here. So I try to live ah, you know
that on purpose. I try to do some things on
purpose or with the future in mind, you know, to
how it affects somebody. So I try to encourage people,
(37:26):
you know, to you know, if I find if I
could find out what their gift is or I can
I I'm around on for long enough and I see
certain things in them. I try to plant certain seeds
and you know, I helped people with so many in
so many different ways, you know, outside of money, and
so I don't know. I think it'll be a lot
of people to come for us and say I was
(37:49):
I was different, you know what I mean. Everybody probably
have something, you know how when Tupac passed and everybody
kind of got a different experience with him. I think
it'll be similar to that. And I don't know why
that why of a scope of course, but just far
as and I think people will be blessed when it's
all said and done, and people have some good things
to say about me. I'm sure they'll say that I was,
(38:11):
you know, a family man, and you know, if I witchy,
I was witchy, if you know, you know, if I
treated you like family, if I considered you a friend,
and that I was you know, loyal, or I was
always trying to help somebody. I think I think kind
of things will be said about me, how much about
have blessed somebody. The only thing I can hope for
is that good things be said. You know, It's gonna
(38:34):
be probably some bad I don't know, but just hope
that you know, what I tried to build.
Speaker 6 (38:43):
Is remembered, you know, because it sounds like to me,
you are just a truth foldier for the for me
of God, and that is so amazing to hear. I
love how you have this wonderful peace in your boys
(39:04):
and a meek spirit and you know who you are
and you're strong. Well, I'd love to see young men
who are strong in the Lord. That's beautiful. That's a
beautiful thing. With that been said, where can't people reach
out to you when I want to have music or
reach out to you for a show or you know,
(39:27):
motivational speak because you have that in you tell yeah,
you can hold a motivational section. You got that seminar
as well. Yeah, that's a part of it.
Speaker 9 (39:41):
That's a part of God showed me that He showed me.
That's a part of it. Is speaking as well as
the music is just really just the I think that's
the platform that He gave me that I can just
have a showcase of my talent. But the real purpose,
I think is in the speaking the things that the word,
you know, the effects that the words see behind that
(40:03):
I might have the same. I think it's is bigger
than the music when it comes to me, because I
think it's just the stage for him to do something else,
and I think it's long term. It's gonna be speaking
at different engagements, different places. So as of right now,
you know, if you do need somebody that you know,
if you need somebody to encourage your youth, you know
(40:23):
you got some type of event where you do need
a speaker or a performer, you can either reach out
to Brian Herbie at One Nation under God. Uh, I
n't see I need it is that you know dot com?
Kill me Brian uh one One Nation under God Records

can hit me directly at Third Day Music Group at
(40:45):

You know I'm here if you if you need somebody
that you know help you with you what you got
going on. I got a wide variety of skills that
aren't ready to use, you know, to help help somebody.
(41:06):
Video sound, I can do live sound if you need it.
You know a lot of different things I have in
my arsenal in my bag. You need somebody to perform
the beats I make beats for you too, your verse
or something. It's hit me up. But yep, dance Thomas

(41:30):
If you want to email me and you need somebody
to come out and speak, I'll be happy to beat up.
Speaker 10 (41:38):
All right, I like that.
Speaker 6 (41:40):
And you go anywhere or do you just stay in Jackson?
Speaker 9 (41:44):
But I've travel depends on the situation, depends on if
it makes sense that I got pieces of my spirit
about it. You know, if it's going to Seattle, Washington,
you know at the page it gotta you know, you
gotta wait to odd. But uh, for the most part though,
I travel their own the situation.
Speaker 6 (42:03):
Because I can see you such a meeting people, especially
in young black men, and what would you give them? Now?
Because we see a lot of young people, you know,
unfortunately that's what the media portray. I don't think all
of them, but we do see a lot of them
doing things that can cost them their future and such
(42:25):
as you know, robbery and finding one another another? What
kind of encouragement would you give them?
Speaker 9 (42:33):
So the main the most important thing I can tell somebody,
you know, outside of the love of Jesus, that God
loves you, he has a plan for you, is to
talk about identity and purpose. You know that God thought
about You're not just living, You're not just here randomly
just going through life and all these problems hearing you
and ain't nothing explainable. No God, there's there. It's all explainable.
(42:55):
Your life was predestined, you know. God saw this way
ahead of time, you know, and certain people He chose
to do certain things. You have a gift. You have
something that you're good at. If it's small to you,
it could be big to somebody else that help somebody else.
But you have a gift. You have something that God
made you good at, or something that God gave you
(43:17):
that you could be good at. You have a certain skill,
a gift that maybe no one else has you. Your
life has a meaning. You're not just here and with
no meaning, no purpose, just just endlessly going through life
and it's all for nothing. You know your life has meaning,
it has purpose. You know God thought thought about you
and what people you would encounter. You know, what situations
(43:40):
you could help improve. You know, God has something for
all of us, but he has something specifically for you.
And so it really comes to your identity, you understanding
who you are. You know what I'm saying we as
young man. We a lot of the times. I know
from my situation, I had plenty of men that was
in my family that I could go and I because
mentally we look at and pull from. But I didn't
(44:02):
always have them like there to like I could talk
to them at any time and stuff like that. So
not a lot of times we grow up with certain vacancies.
There are certain voys within our spirit that we don't
know how to do. Is you don't know how to
be a man. We don't know how to this that man.
There's so many different issues that we have growing up
as a young person. And you know, it takes a
(44:22):
lifetime to learn all this stuff that's going on with us,
you know, about us, for us, against us, you know,
you know it's got to know that man, God is
with you, He's for you. Uh, there's a path for
your life. There's some you know, purpose and all of this.
There's some good things that can happen from all of this.
And if you're going through having a hard life, man,
it ain't gonna stay hard. They ain't gotta stay hard.
(44:43):
It could stay hard because you have free will, You
have your own freedom to make choices. But a lot
of times it's your choices that put you in these situations,
and so understanding who you are and God and that
can kind of help decide some of that decision or
God some of that decision making. Okay, I don't really
know how to go about this, man, it's wisdom of
that word, you know what I mean, where you can
find and get some information on how to approach situations.
(45:06):
The Bible is helpful, man. You know a lot of
people pull them away from the Bible now, but it's
very helpful. That book can help save your life and
help lead you into a prosperous place or to a
good place to where you could leave something for your kids,
leave something for your grandkids. You could lead some type
of legacy, you know, to where you can have somebody
like you actually remember you by you can affect somebody
(45:29):
in some type of way. Your life can have a
greater meaning than you could ever understand if you just
let God lead you and guide you into the purpose
he put on your life and just what he called
you to do. You know who you called you to be.
If you can trust someone with your life and his
plans for you, then man, your life will be great.
You know, it doesn't always feel good the stuff that
(45:50):
God is doing to help us grow mature, but it's
worth it at the end of it. So my message
would be more towards that, just to help people understand
that this is it ain't all for nothing. You know,
this identity and purpose, you know, that's that's that's tied
to them, that's tied directly to Christ and in the
life that he, you know, he has provided for us.
(46:11):
But that'll be more of my message centered on that.
Speaker 6 (46:16):
Wow, beautiful well said, you know what got so much
word in you? That is your calling? Yes, all right,
I can only imagine your music. Oh my goodness, you
got a.
Speaker 9 (46:34):
Lot another That's another part of the The great thing
and the hard thing about it is God showed me
a vision that he had for my life. And it's
a it's a you know, it's it's a heavy calling.
It's gonna take a lot from me, but I'm willing
to go and do it. But it's not it's not easy.
Speaker 6 (46:53):
Got this fun great places, and I just wanted to
take this opportunity to thank you for during your talents
with me and thank you for accepting Jerry Royce, you know,
being on the network because we mean young men, you know,
speaking up for young men.
Speaker 7 (47:12):
They need to be you know, you know, you need
to see people like you, you know, showing them that
they care and and.
Speaker 6 (47:22):
You know you're just real, real peeps. I just I
could just tell you real peeps. And so I really
enjoy this wonderful fellowship. In time, I want to bring
Jerry back line to see he has anymore in a word.
But you stay, you stay busy because you want to
touch I'm sure you already touching, but you got even
(47:44):
touch moral lives because I just feel that passion, and
I just I could just listen to you, like, wow,
oh I didn't see that perspective. You know, I learned
fun my brother.
Speaker 9 (47:57):
Yes, well I appreciate it.
Speaker 5 (47:59):
You got this yeah awesome.
Speaker 4 (48:03):
Well I want to know if if Minister Tom is
gonna pray us out tonight. Yeah yeah, yeah, we appreciate
it before you before you do that, before you close
the show out. Unfortunately, we couldn't play your music because
they have so many new policies for podcasters now they're
shutting down a lot of love programs because of it.
(48:24):
But anyway, you encourage everybody to go out there and
find your music and if you have a music video, man,
please have Herbie send it to us.
Speaker 6 (48:31):
Man.
Speaker 4 (48:31):
We have we have programs that run all music videos
man up in New York, Man, so please really yeah
yeah man, Yeah, they catch catch you and invite you
to come up. And you know New York is always
producing festivals, many every weekend, they got something going on.
Speaker 5 (48:49):
Yeah. Yeah, that's right.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
We've been with Brooklyn Man, Brooklyn and the Bronx. Man,
that's where we're programming at. Yeah really yeah, yeah, oh yeah, man,
god's been good desk man. I mean, Kimmy and I've
been doing this thing since wow, what has been thirteen years?
Speaker 6 (49:07):
Kimmy thirteen?
Speaker 5 (49:09):
Yeah, twenty thirteen.
Speaker 4 (49:10):
Yeah, we're alive and moving to cable television as well
as uh, you know, all these big digital streaming platforms
for podcasting. And we put our resources together. She has
our own station, to have my own station, and we
put our resource together and we produced over what I say,
what eleven thousand podcasts episodes Kimmy.
Speaker 9 (49:31):
Kim Oh wow, y'all doing it? Man, y'all y'all?
Speaker 4 (49:37):
Oh yeah, man, a lot approgram man. Yeah, I mean
some people come, some people go. We lost some good soldiers,
but we met some good soldiers, so it's been been
and think about that too.
Speaker 5 (49:51):
Man, you do have a lot to say. Man. I
could feel your spirit.
Speaker 4 (49:56):
That's one of the things that came out of this
election was out at you know, and our black men
feel like they're not really being heard, but they was
heard this time their vote.
Speaker 5 (50:09):
They ready to care. So anyway, you know, that's what
it is.
Speaker 4 (50:14):
But you know, make your voice count man, and getting
the digital digital radio, so that's the way to go.
Speaker 5 (50:21):
All right, yes, sir, yes, right. Let the young people
hear you.
Speaker 9 (50:25):
Man.
Speaker 5 (50:25):
It's not enough of us saying positive things out there. Man.
Speaker 4 (50:29):
All right, we'll be ready for you to prayers out man,
and definitely reach reach out to Brian so we can
get some of your your videos.
Speaker 9 (50:35):
Okay, all right, brother, I appreciate that. Man. Well, thank
you both for having me on your show tonight. I
remember I had came on a few years ago, so
I appreciate that having me back. It's good to see
that you're still going, you know, going strong, and everything
going good for you. So and closing out, father, I
just want to thank you for your goodness. I just
(50:56):
want to thank you for your love. I want to
thank you for your peace and all your guys that
you have provided. I want to thank you that you
give us direction or you know, I that you blessed
this radio show and that you help them to continue
on and on their path that they're going down this
you know, digital journey and broadcasting. I thank you for
(51:16):
the opportunity that you're giving me to speak to them
and their audience tonight. I thank you that anyone listening,
you know, something I could have said that could have
helped somebody. I think that that was done as well.
I thank you for your for your vision that you've
given all of us, you know, in the creative world.
I thank you that the creations that we do come
(51:39):
up with can help somebody, can bless somebody. Uh, that
your your will is fulfilled throughout using us as vessels.
So I just want to, uh, you know, send your
your love through the airway and let somebody know that
you love them tonight. Uh. I just want to thank
you for all the opportunities that you provided for us,
and all the times that you spared us and helped
(52:01):
us and deal with us, you know, and I just
thank you that you continue to cover us and protect
us going forward. We don't know what the next year brains,
but we know that as long as you're in it,
we'll be okay. And we are more than a conquering.
The word still remains the same true today and forever,
you know. So we just thank you that you've given
us strength and giving us guidance, and that you're forever
(52:23):
with us with your love of hand. We just thank
you in Jesus' name. We just thank you for all
that you've done and all that you're doing going forward
in Jesus.
Speaker 5 (52:34):
A man.
Speaker 4 (52:35):
All right, Tom, heyes, I was listening to you guys
talk about how you you know, you dabbing multimedia productions,
you know, sound and video. Have you ever thought about
doing your own stage play? Since you can produce your
own music a lot of time, that's what hold people back.
They don't have the funds to do the music part
(52:56):
of it. Have you thought about that?
Speaker 10 (52:59):
Well?
Speaker 9 (52:59):
Yeah, so I had a cousin that kind of gives
me information. You like, man, look, you got the music,
you got the audio, so you can put that behind
so many different arms and different things. And been my
nephew just the night before the call, about an hour
before this, this interview or called him. He was telling
me like, yeah, uncle, I'm happy to hear that. For you, man,
that's something that you should do because you got a
(53:19):
lot of information that you can give people. So you
were trying to encourage me to do a podcast. And
I've heard other people say. I had another one of
my partners telling yeah, it's your knicks broke. You gotta
go on there and just open up the word or
open up bapatistic, take a scripture, just talk about something.
But I don't know, man, you know, you open yourself
up to that might be the next next you know.
Speaker 4 (53:49):
A few years ago, I remember HBO had produced I
don't think they're produced, but I think they distributed. Mike
Tyson did a one man show that was one of
the best stage plays I've seen, you know, come to
video I've ever seen, because you know, he was he
had humor with you know, his journey, you know, because
(54:09):
he had you know, it was up and down for him.
He was ripped off, you know, but it was you know,
but he was able to laugh about it, you know,
and it was really good journalism man, you know. Yeah,
So I always encourage anybody who has a story to
tell just get it just you know, script it and great.
(54:31):
I mean you have you have, you have everything. It's
not gonna cost your arm in the leg. I would
do it, you know, especially leave something for your kids,
you know, you know, I would rent out a theater.
Man white family and friends that come out, man, so
they could really see who Das Thomas really is.
Speaker 5 (54:48):
You know, because it's a lot to you.
Speaker 2 (54:50):
Man.
Speaker 4 (54:50):
You got a lot of working pieces, yeah it is,
you know. Yeah, you're young. We always think we got
a lot of time real quick. I remember my oldest
son came to me because he's also an you know,
audio video He worked for a big corporation now and
my youngest son is in it too. He just actually
produced a short film that was that was hoped the
(55:12):
screen was part of a multi screen Howard University HBCU
college tour this past weekend and he was invited to
a lot of TV people were there, you name it.
It was good experience for him. But I remember my
oldest son said, hey, man, we need to go sit
down with pop pop man and get him to talk
about his story because he did. Once started us in
(55:33):
you know a media you know, we started with a
grassproot newspaper and next thing, you know, be producing TV
puppet shows and Christian television shows on you know, big
Christian networks, you name it, you know, and rape behind
Joseph Prince. Who would have thought that, you know, And
the chance we was going to do it, man, the
COVID hit.
Speaker 5 (55:53):
My pops had.
Speaker 4 (55:53):
A stroke and so he couldn't really articulate his story
the way you know about you know, unscripted, so we
never we never done it, man, And so funny. Yeah,
so I always always tell people, you know, do it
was on your mind because you don't know, you know,
tomorrow may be too late, you know.
Speaker 5 (56:15):
Yeah that's real, man, Yeah, that's real sort man.
Speaker 4 (56:19):
And this thing he had all the resources, man, both
his grandsons, he got nieces, he got grand duers that
sing and perform, but he never was able to put
it together, man, the way he wanted, you know.
Speaker 9 (56:31):
So do that, brother, That's food for man. That's what
I think about, what I do, think about my legacy
of what I leave for my kids to know about
being and just off and I can leave the world, man,
you know what I mean, Just and take I think
it way it could be helpful.
Speaker 5 (56:49):
I'm in your shoes too.
Speaker 2 (56:50):
Man.
Speaker 4 (56:50):
As many programs I have produced, I still haven't really
put my own personal touch on everything, you know, like
as far as like I've been doing video story for
kids and stuff and putting it on a television show.
But it's like I need to publish it in a
book for him. I've published all these people books, hundreds
of books. Never published my own book before. I mean,
I published our magazine. But it's like I need to
(57:13):
you know, do that. That's that's you know, that's something
I can leave for my kids too, because they can't.
Speaker 5 (57:18):
They won't be able to do all of this.
Speaker 7 (57:19):
Man.
Speaker 4 (57:20):
They was like that, I don't know how you there?
Speaker 9 (57:23):
You man, like you got something some work to do that.
Speaker 5 (57:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (57:26):
Man, I've been scripting some stuff too, man, Yeah, I'm
scripting stuff. It just man, just getting it, you know,
laid out and uh and publish it. So I'm waiting
on a couple of programs to do this thing. That's
what I'm waiting on. Anyway, I have the nerve to
tell you to move forward. I'm still spinning wheels myself,
(57:47):
you know, the mud. So we can get out of it, man,
we get out to say, man, get moving.
Speaker 1 (57:52):
It'd be good.
Speaker 9 (57:53):
Yeah, it might have been what I needed to hear,
you know, so I appreciate you telling me.
Speaker 4 (57:58):
I mean, it's creative, as we both are. It's just
so much we can do. I always think I'm doing enough,
but then I feel like I'm not doing.
Speaker 5 (58:06):
Enough, you know, I guess.
Speaker 4 (58:10):
Yeah, yeah, especially yeah, yeah, especially you know, having somebody
like Kimmy with me, man, for you know, we've been
doing this for a long time. That's encouraging. And you know,
we just keep doing regard as uh, you know, his
ordain us to do. You know, we're both ministers and reministering,
you know, where we feel like we should minister. You know,
(58:31):
we'll never get out there to be no TD Jakes
and uh Trance and all these other people, you know,
but we speak to people international. We don't know who
these people faces are, you know, but they do reach
out to us, man, and they encourage us to keep
I remember there was a pastor on this program. He
was really really good man, but he was so on
(58:52):
the fence with his fighting his own DM. We kind
of sound, you know a little bit where you were
early when he was telling us your story, you know,
dealing with the mental health of it, and I could
tell he was suffering, man, And man he was, he was.
Speaker 5 (59:03):
He was about to quit this podcast. And I remember
he said.
Speaker 4 (59:06):
His drummer came to him because he must have shared
with a few people in his congregation, and this past
drummer said, man, you don't know who you reaching, man,
And it's like I always.
Speaker 5 (59:15):
Got to keep showing them numbers.
Speaker 1 (59:17):
And dude, I.
Speaker 4 (59:17):
Said, I said, we distributed the show all over the world. Man,
I mean we're not ABC, we not NBC broadcast, but
we do a lot with what we have. And I said,
you are reaching people, man, I mean you're talking about Africa,
all these countries. I mean even in Ukraine when they
was in the middle of a battle, they were still
tuning in the podcast, was still downloading the show. And
it yeah, because they got pirate radio over there. You know,
(59:39):
it's the only way they could broadcast. Man, he still didn't.
It still wasn't enough for him.
Speaker 9 (59:45):
So you never know. It's like in the scripture, I
think over the end of Mark or uh the mark,
Luke Will said, and they wrote down all the pages
of things that Jesus did while he was hearing, all
the people he affected. It wouldn't have been enough pages
in the world the book, you know what I mean.
So it's like that all the people live you probably affected,
you know, just by doing your show, just probably countless
(01:00:06):
people that you'll never even know.
Speaker 5 (01:00:08):
Yeah, and that did.
Speaker 4 (01:00:09):
And I had another young guy he was, you know,
he wasn't sure, you know, people kind of second guess him.
So I guess it's just that the evil one speaking
in the ear. And he was like, man, who you
know who if people listening to me? Man, he was
at a conress. I think you went to a conference
that very next weekend. This guy walked through and said,
I just love your show. He blew his mind.
Speaker 9 (01:00:30):
There you go, man, it's helping people. That's confirmation in
the call right there.
Speaker 5 (01:00:35):
That's right, He's.
Speaker 9 (01:00:36):
Doing something to help somebody. Man. And that's sound like
you're doing what you know, you're doing your calling, man,
that's what the call man, you know?
Speaker 5 (01:00:43):
All right? All right, Kim, Kim, you ready to close out?
Speaker 6 (01:00:48):
I am ready, And I just want to thank you,
my brother, for this wonderful opportunity and I can't wait
to hear more of it. And once again, can you
tell people where they can't find your projects? At and
the name up the first, the second, and the third.
Speaker 9 (01:01:02):
Yeah, and thank you for having me and you know,
let me be a part of the show. So the
name is Deaz Thomas. The projects that I've put out
so far that you can go find is the first
one is called Finally Free. You can find that anywhere
you listen to music. It's a lot of information on there.
The Gospel of Jesus, you know, the grace and how
to how to really look at the scripture and get
(01:01:23):
an understanding of who you are, the foundational things you
probably should want to know about the Bible. It's not preachy.
It's in the form of just life stories. But you
can really go get some information there and help you
had people come up and tell me it helped them
and change their life. It added some value to their life.
So it's still powerful man. It's a powerful, powerful CD.
(01:01:43):
My next CD is called Build Your wolf Pack. You
go find that anywhere that music is streaming. It's a
motivational album that'll give you some information to help you
understand just a little bit about life, give you some
encouragement to go grinding and and take a hold of
your purpose and do what it is God call you
to do. There's some songs about women encouragement on there.
(01:02:06):
There's some information about you know, taking a stance in
this world and being you know, an outlier, you know,
you know, being somebody who can put you know, challenge,
you know, the way things are done to make things better.
And then I have my last product I put out.
It's a bunch of singles that I've released prior to
putting this product out, but it's called Power of the Mind.
(01:02:30):

you know, Thank you Lord, Believe it or not, Renew
the Room, there's a bunch of them. Transitions is from
another product. But there's a bunch of videos out there.
You can go find that stuff anywhere on YouTube and whatnot,
and you can also stream that anywhere. Music that listen
to but it's there's Thomas is called Power of the Mind.
(01:02:52):
There's a lot of information on there that that can
help you with how to you know, decipher some of
this information you're receiving. Information about the word, information about
the church, information about politics, information about societal problems, just
the conflicts of interest that we're receiving. It's a lot
of encouragement you can get out of that project a
(01:03:12):
lot of information that can really help your life. Really,
I really feel like that album will help you gain
some type of perspective of all the conflict of information
we've been receiving throughout our lifetime. It's called power of
the mouth. And these these videos, it's all out there.
There's videos for all these projections out there to go
see them. But you can find me on Instagram's there's
Thomas Music. My Facebook is Derez Thomas is the profile
(01:03:36):
with the red hat. And then you can email them
if me to it. Third Day Music Group at gmail
dot com. If you need somebody to come out and
speak and perform a good variety of things, I can
help you with these live sound all that stuff. Make
beats you need beats.
