(07:38):

am just very grateful for this moment and for this opportunity. Well,
we're glad that you're here because we need your help
and we need your guidance. So let you get right
to it. I always like to ask my guests. I've
(08:01):
known you, she and not have consulted together, train together,
y'all should real organized, real strategic Whenever we would travel
across the state of Georgia, I knew that she would
show up with her candles and have spread sheets and
all of that, and I just came in at the end,
you know, doing what I do. But I knew that
(08:22):
she could really help us today. So how did you personally?
What made you tap into mindfulness and meditation personally? Yeah,
I appreciate that that question and as we were talking previously,
you know, I was just reflecting on the fact that
it has always been a part of who I am, right,
(08:45):
of my innate ability, you know, of my just really
being a part of my DNA and the core of
who I am. And so I had gone through some
some times throughout my journey where I was looking to
looking for healing, right because I was operating in this
(09:06):
spirit of brokenness, and that was emotionally, that was physically,
and so for me, I wanted to try to find
something other than the traditional way of bringing myself to
being a hole and healed person. And so I went
on this healing journey and I started with yoga maybe
(09:28):
almost fifteen years ago, and I found that to just
bring me so much joy, right, Like being in a
space where you can be one where you can focus
on your breath, where you can really just go inward
move me to a space over the years of wanting more,
and so throughout my yoga journey, I practiced on a
(09:50):
daily basis, but I wanted more, and so I moved
into not only practicing yoga, but now being a yoga instructor.
And there's so many other that came along with that.
When I think about my healing journey, it was the
yoga piece of it, but it's really the discipline of
what yoga really is, and that is that is allowing
yourself to go inward, right, to go inward, and to
(10:12):
do some introspection in every part of your life. And
so yoga brought that to me. But there was also
the meditation piece of yoga, right, or the meditation piece
of mindfulness. And so I found myself doing yoga. I
found myself meditating and it felt really good, and so
(10:33):
I went deeper right. And so not only did I
become a trauma informed yoga meditation yoga I'm sorry, yoga instructor,
I also became a meditation coach, and in that I
really found my space and being mindful. And so I'm like,
I have done this work. I have done this work
(10:53):
on myself right for myself, and so if this worked
for me, then I want to be able to share
this other people, and I want to be able to
bring them to a space of feeling whole and healed.
And so that's kind of how I got. How I
arrived into this, into this this moment, into this space amazing,
and I have so thank you for sharing that, because
(11:15):
sometimes when people when other people see you from the outside,
they don't know your journey. So I have tons of
questions for you, Shanda. So with everything that's happening globally
in the world, all the shifts and the changes social
media and TV, explain to listeners what is mindfulness and
(11:40):
what is meditation? What is the difference? You tell me,
where do you want to start with that question? Well,
I we can start with with the with the mindfulness piece, right,
because I think folks here mindfulness and they're like, oh,
that's just a word, and mindfulness is so it's such
a beautiful space to be in because you can be
(12:01):
mindful in every aspect of your life. Right. You can
be you know, a mindful listener, you can be a
mindful eater, right, you can be mindful in so many
different spaces. And I want to say too that mindfulness
and meditation like they correlate, and they correlate in this
sense of you have to be present in both of
(12:22):
these spaces, right. I think for me, like, being totally
present is so powerful and it's so simplistic, but we
make it so complicated, right, and it really is simply
being aware being aware and being present in whatever moment,
in whatever space that you're in on a daily basis.
(12:44):
And so when I look at you know, the eight
attributes or what really embodies mindfulness right, a mindfulness practice,
it's the learner's mind. It's seeing everything as new and interesting.
It's being non judgmental, avoiding labels of right or wrong,
on good or bad, acknowledgment, recognizing things as they are.
(13:05):
You know, settle, being grounded and comfortable in the moment, Compose,
remaining patient and in control, letting be when we all
struggle with that right, letting things be with no need
to change them self reliant, deciding on your own, from
your own experiences what is true or not. And then
the biggest piece is self compassion, loving yourself, your thoughts,
(13:28):
and your emotions as they are. If you can incorporate
all eight of these attributes in every aspect of your life, right,
that is being mindful. Let's unpack that a little bit
of those eight components or eight steps. So what do
you call it? The eight strategies, the eight attitudes attitudes?
(13:52):
Because I know a lot of y'all gonna say, what
constant mindfulness? That ain't nothing but new age. But no,
this is a vibration, this is a flow, this is
a spirit. So let's go through them step by step, Shanda.
So the first one was what the first one is
learner's mind seeing everything as new and interesting. That sounds
(14:15):
when I met when you have a learner's mind, that
means you're excited and you're looking around like a child.
H m hmmm hm. And you know, even in this
day and age, with everything that's going on, with everything
that we have coming up against us, there's still an
opportunity for us to be mindful in this space and
(14:35):
going back to having that learner's mind, being inquisitive, right,
being in a space where you want to want to
where you see an opportunity, right, and you explore that.
And sometimes it's hard because we have so much coming
up against us that we miss the opportunity right to
bring ourselves to a space of having a learner's mind.
(14:57):
And so I think again, when we think about my
fullness and meditation is really being able to ground yourself
in that specific moment, in that time and recognize where
that opportunity is. But I think most times we don't
slow ourselves down enough, and oftentimes we really miss that moment.
Speaker 4 (15:16):
I love that.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
And the next attitude after a learner's mind would be
what non judgmental? Oh what Lord? And I need help
on that one. Okay? That is that is powerful avoiding
labels of right or wrong, good or bad, And I
am not perfect by no means, and I still I'm
still trying to get this piece right non judgmental, because
(15:38):
it's so easy for us to pass judgment on others.
And so even in my personal experiences that I have
presently going on, I have to ground myself in this,
in this attitude because it's so hard to just pass
judgment versus step taking a step back right and really
finding a mindful way alone earner's mind to approach this
(16:02):
person or this situation before I pass judgment. So that
is some of for some of us. You know, that's
really hard, But I think it's the intention that's really important.
And even if somebody is experienced, you said no labels,
So if somebody is going through a tough time, should
they just say I'm not gonna say this is good
(16:25):
or bad, this is I'm accepting this and no label?
Does that? People? Yeah? I think so, because I think
it's the labeling that sends us down this spiral right
of you know, of regret and resentment and you know,
unhappiness and being mad and upset and I can I'm
telling you, I'm speaking from my own personal experience, right,
(16:46):
and so I have to receive this person, receive the
situation as it is, right and really being able to
even in this space of really trying undefine the good
in it, which could be very hard sometimes, or just
really being in a place of accepting it for what
(17:07):
it is. And that's just it, like not overthinking it,
not overanalyzing it, not trying to find a solution, but
just accepting it for what it is and being okay
with that. I think that's the hardest part, is just
being okay with it because oftentimes we have to be
okay with it or not and you really don't. I
got you. And with the law of attraction, we talk
about you know, non resistance, and when you just accept
(17:33):
it the circumstance, the situation, no resistance, that just releases
God or the Spirit to really empower and assist us
in changeing that. That's powerful. What's the third attitude of acknowledgment?
Acknowledgement recognizing things are as they are, not trying to
(17:54):
change it, not trying to fix it, but just working
through it and again. And you know, personally, I'm I'm
going through some stuff. I'm not even gonna sit up
here and pretend is if I'm not. I'm going through
some stuff. And so every day I have to look
at this list and say, I'm going to acknowledge this
situation and this person for what it is. I cannot
(18:16):
change them. All I can do is meet them where
they are right and so really being in a space
of not trying to change anything but just acknowledging it
as it is. And I know sometimes people look at
me like how do you even process all of that?
You know, and it's like, it is what it is.
(18:36):
You know, I can't change it. I can't change them.
All I can do is, you know, receive what is,
what this experience is, and then try to incorporate some
of these attributes, you know, being nonjudgmental, you know, having
a learner's mind, even finding the victory or finding something
small that will you know, celebrate this person. I feel
(19:00):
like I'm probably going way off here, so You're fine.
It's almost like a surrender almost to the circumstance of
the situation for listeners who are listening to this and
you know, we don't know what you're going through are experiencing,
but these are great universal practical principles that you can
(19:22):
lean into. Okay, what's the I think fourth attitude of
mindfulness settled, settled, being grounded and comfortable in the moment.
Oh right, yeah, just just really being settled, you know,
grounding ourselves, you know, being bringing ourselves to the present moment,
(19:44):
not thinking about what's in front of us, not thinking
about what has happened to us, but really bringing our
mind and our energy and our whole being to a
space of just being settled. And that is going back
to the whole just surrendering, right, like just really being
ever present mind, body, and energy in the moment. And
(20:06):
I know that again that could be kind of hard
for us, but I think if we set the intention
in that moment, then it will come. It will come natural.
This is good teacher, you know, even a charac told
was before his time when he published in the Now,
somebody ask him et gard y'all. I don't know if
(20:26):
I'm pronouncing this name right, but y'all know who I'm
talking about They said, how did you were you how
did you come up with that number one best New
York Times best selling book? And you know, were you
praying about it? And he said, I was sitting outside
looking at a tree in the moment mm hm, And
(20:50):
in that moment, that title was downloaded to him. And
I just believed that in those moments when we are
you know, and exactly what you're sharing so profoundly, we
could that solutions can be downloaded in that second, you know, ideas, insights.
So yeah, that's amazing. Yeah, and I appreciate you for
(21:14):
for for bringing that into this space because oftentimes, you know,
we're not we're not pausing long enough to see the
beauty even in that tree that he was looking at, Like,
clearly he saw something in that in that tree, right,
the name of his book, the title, whatever it was,
he saw something. And so I think taking the time
to to really be centered and grounded, having that learner's mind,
(21:38):
being nonjudgmental in that moment can bring so much clarity, right,
it could bring it could give you the answers that
you've been looking for just by being present in that moment.
So I want to encourage your listeners and your followers
and your supportive just just paused sometimes, and even though
you know it may be quiet, even finding the beauty
(21:58):
in that silence, because is so much there that we
get that we can take and we can apply, and
we can download, and so just take the time when
it is quiet. Don't try to fill that space with something,
but just let it be and let whatever organically is
coming to you allow it to happen in that silent moment. Okay, Sean,
the preaching, Now, Okay, what's the next one? What's the
(22:19):
next one? Shanna? We on number six? This is so
good and such truth. Yeah. Yeah, so we are on composed, Okay, composed,
that's number five, remaining patient and in control. Right, remaining
patient and in control composed. That sounds like some trusting
(22:42):
is gonna have to come into our lives, trusting that
in that moment, God are spirit of the universe is assisting, supporting,
encouraging whatever we need from that moment. Yeah, that's good.
Yeah yeah, And what's the next attitude? Shap letting be,
(23:05):
letting things be with no need to change them. Oh lord,
that's true. Some toes stepping on some toes. Yeah, yeah,
it goes. But that's that's really good. And lastly, mindfulness
is so so we have the self reliant, and then
(23:29):
we also have self compassion loving yourself, your thoughts and
your emotions as they are. Oh, that's the major because
most people I was just talking to a client this
morning and saying to her, most I'm talking to women now,
Most women say, once I lose weight, then I could
(23:49):
be successful. It's always a then well when I when
I lose weight, then I can start my business. It's
never now loving, accepting and embracing who you are where
you are right now. M hm absolutely, yeah, yeah, that
self compassion piece is is powerful. Like I feel like
(24:13):
that should have been number one. We should have reminded
ourselves number five. You know, it should be kind of
it should kind of come up as often as it can,
just to serve as a reminder that you know, it
starts with us first, right, we we we have to
we have to pour into ourselves because we know that
we cannot pour from an empty cup. And so that
self compassion piece is so critical mind, body, and energy.
(24:36):
And so I love what you said about you know,
when I when I lose weight, then I'm going to
But no, you are beautifully and wonderfully made the way
that you are right here, right now, and so don't
miss that blessing, right, don't miss that blessing because you're
waiting for something. But just you know, accept your whole self,
your whole being, where you are, where you are right now,
(24:57):
and give yourself grace, right, give yourself grace, especially when
it comes to being self compassionate. And so for somebody
right now who was going through a tough time, maybe
they don't have enough money, they might be going through
a due voice, maybe they have children, maybe they got
fired from their job, they can tap into all of
(25:18):
these practices moment by moment. Is that correct? Yeah, that
is absolutely And I'm glad you mentioned that because that
kind of segues into the meditation piece, right, like really
being able to sit with whatever you're experiencing in that moment, right,
but also being able to take yourself to a space
(25:41):
where you can, you know, focus on your breath, you
can focus on really balancing your nervous system, because we
know that when there is stress, when there is chaos,
when there is you know, feeling of you know, self doubt,
then we're just regulated, right and we're not operating from
a space of being a whole and authentic self. And
(26:03):
so when we bring in that meditation practice, that really
allows us to call my minds, call my thoughts, you know,
regulate our nervous system, and really bring us back to
a space of being grounded and centered so that we
can be in a space to receive whatever it is
that is there for us. Right And so I just
want to encourage everybody in this moment. It's just to
(26:24):
be stilled sometimes and to focus and to take some
deep breaths. And I found that it's in the breath
that brings me a sense of peace and calm, and
it allows me to think, you know, reason a little
bit better and just to operate in the spirit of
really being calm, grounded, centered and reasonable in every aspect
(26:46):
of my life. And so when we think about the
breath and meditation, people are, oh, it's just breathing, but
it is so so powerful. Yes, expound, I want you
to walk us through. For everybody who said I can't meditate,
I tried. So let's start with the breath. Work expound
more on the breath, because I think I'm just really
(27:07):
learning more and appreciating the power of breath right now,
So expound on that for people who are anxious, stressful,
have anxiety, can't sleep at night. Yeah, what roads does
breath work play? Yeah, I mean, you know, like I
(27:27):
was saying before, it is that tool. It is a
very simplistic tool that we have at our fingertips every
day because breathing, you know, is a part of our
whole being. And so to be able to tap into
the breath, right, recognizing that when you when you are breathing,
like like really bringing yourself to a space of meditation
(27:51):
can can clear up so many like you know, negative
thoughts or you know, not having a clear clear thoughts
on kind of what your next steps need to be.
And so, you know, the breath is just so powerful
because it does allow us to and I'm gonna kind
of go scientific here a little bit, but it allows
us to, yeah, to to to activate that parasympathetic nervous system, right,
(28:15):
you know that is that is that nervous part of
nervous system that brings us to a space of being
at a at being rest RESTful and peaceful and relaxed,
because oftentimes we're operating from that sympathetic nervous system, right,
We're always going, going, going, going, going. We're always responding
to things, versus really taking a step back, right, taking
(28:37):
a step back, recognizing what you see in front of you,
and setting the intention to calm the mind, to calm
the energy, to calm your body, so that you can
bring yourself back to a space of having clear thoughts,
having clear energy, and really not only for yourself, but
when you're engaging with someone else, because you know, I'm
(28:59):
an energy person and so when I feel that your
energy is a little off, and I'm probably gonna move
in an opposite direction, and so really it is about you,
but it is about people that you're engaging with as well.
And so to answer your question, I think the breath
is so powerful and understanding that when I take an
inhal in and I hold it right there and then
(29:22):
I exhale it all out, that feels so good. And
you know, just personally, Seanda, you know, I've had days
where just the demand of that day or out and
(29:43):
I'm like, okay, God, I'm tripping. Now I need to
calm my little self down. I just go sit on
the couch and I'll put on I go on YouTube
and maybe get a five minute guided meditation where this
guy says, take a deep breath then and do you know,
then I let it out and at the end of
that five minutes, I am calmer. Yeah. Yeah, And I
(30:06):
tell myself this too, and I want to encourage everyone
to do it. Sounds so simple, but you know, I'll
tell myself and even when I am facilitating meditation and yoga,
because in my practices I incorporate a lot of different things.
There is trauma sensitive yoga. There is some somatic you know,
movement that is the mind body connection. And there's also
(30:27):
the emotional freedom technique which is tappening. Like I incorporate
all those things into a yoga and meditative flow. But
I always tell people, take a beautiful in Hell through
your nose, right in hell, deeply as far as you can,
right in hell in hell, hold it. And when you exhale,
I want you to stick your tongue out right and
(30:48):
I want you to let everything that's no longer serving
you in this moment let it go. And when I
am doing that, like I am physically everything that I
am holding on to, you know, resentment upset, you know,
the kids didn't do what they were supposed to do.
I am. I am physically letting all those things out right.
I am setting the attention that whatever I am holding
(31:09):
on too, I am releasing it completely in that breast
that is so powerful. That is powerful. And you know,
people who are on mass not judging anybody, but if
we can, people are just if we can just tap
into this gift of God that if we did this
two or three times the day, what would our body
(31:31):
and our life look like? Okay, so the panel bland
that gland? Am I pronouncing that right? People say that
when you I don't know a lot about it, but
it's at the top of our head or something that
when we breathe in that the neal a gland opens
up and we receive more insight. We received that download.
(31:54):
Does that happen to us? It does? It really does.
And I'm glad you said that because when I was
kind of going through that that that breath work, you
can feel it. You can you can feel the release
like you can you can feel your body relaxing, softening,
you know, calming down, like your heart beating, lowing down
(32:15):
like all those things, and you feel lighter. And so
I I do that probably about three or four times
a day. I mean, just it only takes a minute, right,
just a beautiful deep in hell hold it and then
let go of everything, everything that's no longer serving you
in the moment, you know, I am. I am doing that,
(32:35):
and I feel lighter, I feel better, I feel relaxed.
I feel like I can move on to the next
step and do whatever I'm supposed to do. So yeah, okay,
So let's talk about meditation, because folks say, Constance, I
can't meditate, and I can't you know, I know the
(32:56):
Bible says mother, meditation is pondering over and over in
your mind. So for me, on certain days, a guided meditation, Guys,
sometimes I meditate with doctor micaeh back with where he
has a guidet. He starts you off guided and then
it's just the music and my mind may wander twenty times,
(33:18):
but I just gently bring it back. So for folkal say, Shanda,
all that's good, but I'm too busy. I'm gonna stay
at home, mom, I got a business. How can people
begin to understand, first of all, and then incorporate meditation
as a lifestyle. Well, I think it's about really setting
(33:40):
the intention, Constance. It's really setting the intention of bringing
yourself to a space where you want to feel calm.
You want to be able to move throughout the next moment,
the next minute, without being upset and having cloudy thoughts.
(34:02):
And so it really is about saying, hey, I'm gonna
take these next two minutes, right, Because you can meditate anywhere.
You can meditate walking, you can meditate in the shower,
you can meditate in the car, you can go on
a corner and meditate. So it's really I think the
first thing is really just setting the intention to just
stop and just take advantage of that space and that
(34:26):
moment in time, right, and so, and it takes practice.
It's nothing that is going to happen overnight. But I
think if you set the intention, that's the first thing.
It's setting the intention that I want to be able
to practice meditation, right. And so even for me, you know,
because I got a lot going on and got grandkids,
(34:47):
a husband, kids, you know, mom, dad, siblings and everything
in between, but I am always gonna take that time
to pour back into myself whatever it looks like. Now.
It may not look all the time, right, but even
like when I'm going out walking, I am meditating. I
am grounding myself, you know, connecting to Mother Earth, you know,
(35:09):
taking some deep breaths, noticing, orienting to what I have
in my space, seeing what's around me, taking in all
the beauty that I see with my eyes, you know,
allowing the breeze from the wind to hit my face
and to feel that, really being completely present in that moment, hearing, like,
engaging all of my senses. What am I hearing around me? Like?
(35:30):
What am I feeling on my skin? What am I smelling?
What do I see? Like? Really bringing yourself to a
space of utilizing all of your senses. That's another way
to meditate because when you do that, you're bringing yourself.
You're bringing your whole self to the present moment, right
You're being completely present when you can just stop and
recognize even in the silence, you can still hear something
(35:51):
in those silent moments. And so I would say, whatever
it looks like for you, because sometimes it is it
is in the breath work but most of it. But
for me, it's about really taking the time to be present.
And that's really what mindfulness and meditation is. It is
understanding and recognizing where you are, setting the intention to
(36:11):
pause and to bring yourself to the present moment by
engaging all of your senses here. And so I would
say for that person who struggles with the breath work,
maybe you just start with the orienting. Orienting is a
technique that I use when I'm feeling overwhelmed or you know,
I'm just not feeling one hundred percent, I'll just stop
(36:32):
and I will look around in whatever space that I'm
in and engage all of my senses, and I find
myself just kind of letting go in that moment. And
so if you're struggling with the breath work piece, just
pause for a second and just look around in your
space and listen, listen and see, feel touch, And I
(36:55):
promise you you'll see a shift if you do that, like
once a day, you'll feel a shift. And then add
the breathword to it, you know, take some deep in
heales and then exhale, right, you know you're inhaling and
you're exhaling, and then maybe add an affirmation or two
to that. You know, I am in healing love, I
(37:16):
makes healing light, I'm in heal in peace. I makes
hell in love. And just start there and then build
from there. Well, you know I tried to do the
walk in meditation, and I'm like, this is not working
for me. I'm like, how am I gonna meditate? So
I kind of know what works for me. Yeah, And
(37:37):
guided meditation gets me on the pathway and then I
can Really it's something very powerful about just being present
with your breath. It's so spiritual. And doctor Michaeh Beck
that says that when you're meditating, you're hearing the lowly
vibration broadcasting of the spirit. I'm like, wow, he said,
(38:03):
he said, you are attuned as if you're going to
hear something special for your life and for yourself. And
so sometimes when I just breathing, I might can only
do that for one minute shine without my mind, but
sometimes I get a download right then. Yeah. Yeah. And
I often encourage, you know, my my students to often
(38:28):
say in my in my script when I'm talking to them,
you know, because we know that the mind wonders, right,
So I always say, if your mind begins to wonder here,
just bring it back to the breast. Oh yeah, just
bring it back to the breast. Yeah. Well, you know
you teach I'm coming back to medic but I know
(38:48):
you teach yoga and I've heard a lot of Christians say, well,
you know, yoga, that's uh that that's that ain't no God.
I'm like, well, all they doing a it's stretching and
so so they mystified that to people who might be
a little apprehensive. Well, and you know, I experienced that
(39:10):
because I went to a I went to a conference
at a dear friend's church and I had the Buddha.
It was a Buddha like statue. Really it was an
elephant like and he was he was like in the
(39:31):
Noma state polls. And so that person said, you need
to take that down. Yeah, you need to take that down.
And so that was a that was a moment for
me because I'm like, yoga is not it is not.
It is a spiritual practice and that that is. That
(39:55):
is what it is. I don't worship yoga. I don't
pray to yoga. I am just practicing yoga really so
that I can be you know, grounded, I can be centered,
and I can be elevated and conscious in whatever space
(40:16):
that I'm in, and it can move me to a
space of being healing. And so I would have to
say that it's not I don't even know the word
but it's not the anti Christ, it's not a cult,
it's not New age mysticism. It's really a gift from God.
(40:37):
But I've heard that before, and that's why i wanted
to bring that up for listeners. You see, God has
a million ways that get healing, wholeness, well being, freedom,
because if you ain't anxious, you free. I've been in
situations where I hadn't been able to sleep at night,
and right, y'all. So I know, for listeners, with with
(41:00):
with with the political stuff that's happening globally, and with
money and with careers and with jobs, a lot of
folks feel in some kind of way mm hm. And
so these would be great practice that you can begin
to implement in your life. Yeah, I don't know if
I answered your question. It is it is, Yeah, it's
(41:22):
just it's just spiritual for me. It's not God, is
not you know, Buddha, it's not Hindu. It is just
a spiritual practice that has really helped me on my
on my on my healing journey. You know, even my
spiritual journey. I got you. So let's talk about So,
So give me a couple examples that you know of
(41:45):
of folk who meditated and practiced mindfulness and maybe there
has been a big manifestation in their lives or maybe
more peace of mind. Can you think, can you think
of anything personally or with people that you know or
where you've read of people who have who are practicing
(42:05):
mindfulness and the meditation and their lives are completely changed.
I would have to say and and it. I would
have to go back to my my first introduction to yoga,
and I still have the connection to my to my
(42:25):
yoga instructor, who was a who has who is beautiful
in her work right of practicing and teaching yoga. And
I have seen her throughout her her journey right because
she's she's been through some things herself. But I have
seen her elevate right in spaces that she manifested fifteen
(42:52):
years ago, right because of doing of doing this work right,
because of the intention that she has said to really
help people move to a place of being this whole
person right and helping them on their spiritual journey. I
have seen her elevate in the work that she's doing.
(43:16):
I think now she's doing she's a reflexologist, she's doing
sound bow healing. I mean she is attracting all the
things that she manifested fifteen years ago, right, And so yeah,
and so I can just kind of bring that back
to myself like full circle, like I want to be
in that space too, right, And so she really encouraged
(43:38):
me to take that step, like you can do this.
And I've seen through my experience of really just taking
that step right of recognizing that it is a gift, right,
and to be able to own it and to be
able to walk into it and to be able to
move into that space boldly and proudly really brought opportunities
(44:01):
to me just being sitting in this space with you today, right,
and you know, writing the book. And so I found
throughout my personal journey that the things that I have
manifested ten years ago are coming to fruition. And it's
nothing that I'm doing extraordinary. I'm just being obedient in
this moment right of really being able to bring healing
(44:23):
power and energy to those that are in need. And
because of that, I have been blessed immensely. And I'm
talking about overflow, Okay. I was just having a conversation
with my sister about we're in the overflow right now
because we are doing what we are called to do
in this space, and so it really is beautiful to
be able to offer this, you know, as a gift
(44:44):
to others and helping them to move to a space
of wholeness and healing and really being able to operate
one hundred percent in who you are supposed to be.
And let me take a simple work seanthan I used
to be on the road together and just watching and
(45:05):
we may not talk for four or five six years, right,
And you've always been like this to me, to me,
you have yeah, yeah, yeah, you know. I was talking
to one of my girlfriends and she was like, I
don't ever see you get mad. I don't ever see
(45:28):
you get upset. And I was like, I said, I'm
gonna start telling people I have a very healthy nervous system.
I have a very healthy nervous system because I understand
those eight attributes of mindfulness, right, being self reliant, being nonjudgmental,
letting things be right, like always bringing those things into
(45:52):
the space that I'm in, not even recognizing that right.
And so I'm like, I just have a healthy nervous
system and I'm not gonna let I'm not gonna let
this shake me one way or the other. But it
takes it takes some practice and some intention even in that.
So yeah, Shanda nine, because I traveled all over the
state just teaching, teaching, teaching, and then Shanda, certain people
(46:16):
would come and join where I was teaching, and Shanda
would come in just as calm, you know, and me
with my hyper sss. She would have her little candles,
then she has some incense. Remember that I remember organized
so that innately has always been on the inside of you.
(46:36):
That that's amazing And this is such a gift that
doesn't cost us anything, people, that we can begin to
implement and like Shanda said, being intentional. So I guess lastly,
before I'm gonna have Shanda Walkers through a mindful meditation,
what about mindfulness and the vibration enough gratitude? I mean,
(47:01):
does that. I'm so glad you said that, ma'am, because
or sister I told her, I said, look, don't call me,
she said, but I call everybody, everybody, ma'am. Okay, okay,
sis okay. So that that gratitude piece, it is so powerful.
(47:26):
I mean, being grateful for those small things, being grateful
for the things that we that seem like they're not
the blessing. But they really are like being grateful for
all things I And I'm not here to like boost
myself up or anything like that, but I'm just sharing
my story, right, and my journey, and gratitude has been
(47:47):
the one thing that has brought me through, Right. I'm
grateful for everything big and small, And you have to
say that out of your mouth, right, You have to
profess those things out of your And it is through
the vibration of gratitude that has brought so many opportunities
my way, opportunities that I hadn't even been thinking about.
(48:09):
You know, you plant those seeds along the way, and
you help people along the way, and you forget about it.
And I just had a call yesterday, somebody called me
out of the blue, like, Hey, I'm working on this
project and I know you've been doing this work for
quite some time. Will you come help me. I haven't
talked to this person in a year or so, you
know what I'm saying. But it's the spirit of gratitude.
(48:33):
And I think when you operate from the spirit of gratitude,
it's almost like you're automatically depositing into yourself, right, Like
you're depositing into yourself, and then there's this overflow that happens.
And then when the overflow happens, those are the gifts
and the blessings that come your way just because of
the spirit and the vibration of gratitude. And so we
(48:56):
don't have to be grateful for all those wonderful and
beautiful things. We could also be grateful for those times
that we're in you know, it feels like we can't
make it do the next day. We have to even
show gratitude in those spaces because in doing so, there's
this overflow that happens. Right, So it's almost like the
more gratitude you show, the more blessings you'll receive. I mean,
(49:17):
and that's the only way I can really explain it.
It's just really operating from a space of being grateful
at all times, big, small, or indifferent. Okay, Preacher Wama,
that is so powerful. We are know gratitude is the
spiritual force. I love what doctor Joe Despenser said. He said,
the quickest way to get more abundance in your life
is to be grateful for every little thing. Y'all've heard
(49:39):
me say. I say I'm grateful for a pillar. I'm grateful.
I'm grateful for my lipstick. I'm grateful for you, know,
grateful for the water that I drink and you live
in that. So, Shanna, tell us the name of your book,

so if we can, I want to invite you in
this moment to just ground yourself right, whether you're sitting
(51:56):
in a chair or sitting on the floor, or even
and standing, whatever feels most comfortable for you in this moment,
and I just want to invite you to take some
deep breaths here inhaling through your nose and exhaling through
(52:17):
your mouth, and as we ground ourselves in this moment,
right here, right now, I want to invite you to
just imagine that you have roots right extending from perhaps
(52:37):
the soles of your feet. They're extending and connecting deeply
to Mother Earth, feeling that connection, deeply, grounding yourself in
this moment, taking up beautiful in hell through your nose,
holding and ex sailing completely through your mouth, releasing those
(53:07):
things that no longer serve you in this moment, Maybe
even taking one of your hands and putting it over
your chest and the other one over your stomach, and
taking a beautiful in hell here, feeling the expansion on
the in hell, holding and letting go and releasing on
(53:31):
the ex hell, inhaling deeply through your nose, holding and
ex sailing completely through your mouth. Inhaling and exhaling, maybe
(54:13):
even observing some sensations that you may be experiencing in
your body, maybe focusing on your feet, in your calves,
in your knees, maybe taking it in heal here and
softening on the eggs hell, bringing your awareness up to
(54:39):
your legs, in your thighs, in your stomach, passing no
judgment here, just letting things be as they are, inhaling
and exhaling, bringing your awareness up to your heart, your
(55:07):
heart chakra, and maybe even taking a moment to listen
to your heartbeat. Then maybe even moving your awareness up
to your throat, your throat chakra, and then to your
(55:32):
third eye chakra, and all the way up to the
top of your head with your crown chakra, taking a
beautiful in hell here, maybe even imagining this beautiful, bright,
warm light shining down through your crown chakra all the
way down to your feet, feeling that energy, feeling that
(55:56):
beautiful light. Taking a beautiful end hell here through your nose,
holding and releasing and letting go on the ex hell
in healing love, ex healing peace, inhaling peace, ex healing light,
(56:40):
knowing that you are beautifully and wonderfully made, Taking a
beautiful in hell through your nose, holding and releasing completely
on the exhale and letting go of everything that no
longer serves you in this moment, quieting the mind, finding
(57:09):
the beauty in the moment, and bringing yourself back to
your breath in hell and ex heail, in hell and exail,
(57:40):
knowing that you can always return to this beautiful and
serene space, and when you're ready, you can open your eyes.
Thank you for this time, Thank you for this opportunit unity,
