Dr. Wilkins is a clinical faculty dental preceptor at the LECOM School of Dental Medicine. After 20 years of private practice, including being an owner of 2 successful clinics in the state of Georgia, Dr. Wilkins moved to Florida and joined the LECOM faculty as a dental educator a few years ago. In this podcast episode, Dr. Wilkins shares with the listeners her unique pathway to dentistry as a second career, her experience conquering challenges as an African American female in the traditionally male dominated profession, and offers her wisdom balancing a career and a family as she prepares students to become LECOM healthcare heroes.
