(00:09):
You have something special, you havegreatness in you. Hello, this is
less Brown. I want to havea few moments with you to share with
you of how we can begin todeal with this special place where we are
right now, unlike anything I've everseen in the seventy five years I've been

(00:31):
on the planet. And I'm sureyou will agree with me, And a
lot of people say, what doesit take to make it through today?
Because things are different. You havethousands of people losing their jobs. We
are under restrictions in many cases acrossthe country where you can't leave home except

(00:54):
for essential purposes. You have businessesthat are going out of business. And
then, in addition to that, because people are confined to staying home,
domestic violences increase. The suicide ratehas increased, and people, many of
them, are feeling hopeless and powerlessand out of control and uncertain because of

(01:17):
how they're being inundated with all kindof negative news from the media. Isn't
it strange how they can tell youevery day the thousands of people they project
who will die, but they don'ttell you about the thousands and millions of
people who are living who survive. Is that interesting? See? Whatever you

(01:44):
focus on it begins to expand. And so it's no wonder that people are
frightened and out of their wits. When fear is gripping your mind, you
can't think straight. God has notgiven a spirit of fear, but a
spirit of pur and of love andof sound mind. You can't be in

(02:04):
a sound mind when you are grippedin the arms of fear. And so
I want to walk you through aprocess several things that you can do during
this time that will allow you tolive your life from the inside out rather
than from the outside end. Somethings that you can do as you think

(02:24):
about your goals and dreams. Becauseduring this time, you don't want to
just go through this time. Mydaughter, doctor Owner Brown, said,
gaps are from God. Yes,you want to use this time to develop
yourself, to develop some new skills, to learn something today that you didn't
know yesterday. To build up yourstrength and foster your faith, and begin

(02:47):
to fortify your energy and your determinationto live your dreams and create the next
greatest version of yourself. So letme walk you through the process. Write
this down. Be hungry. Youknow what I did when this started,
and all the restrictions we had Idecided to complete my book. I've been

(03:14):
working on it for twenty one yearsand life kept getting in the way.
And so my daughter say, gapsare from God. This is true.
Many of us have projects that we'vebeen working on, and we stopped dreams
that we had and we put themon the chef and they've collected us.
And this is a time to goback and take another look at it.

(03:37):
And I was having dinner with afriend and it just triggered a thought about
my best friend who was a greatchef, and he had this secret recipe
and he died and he never sharedit, but he was planning on doing
it one day, and that oneday did not happen. This is the
time be hungry to get all ofthe stuff out of you that has been

(04:02):
placed in you, because there issomething in you. You are created by
the Creator to create. And sothis is the time to start creating and
working on new projects and creating newopportunities for yourself. I guarantee you when

(04:23):
we get through this, and trustme, we will get through this.
Doctor who Willie Jolly said that thisshall pass, We will get through this.
He's absolutely right. We're going toget through this. This has not
come to stay. It has cometo pass. And so you want to
be hungry to get all of yourtalents, abilities, and skills out of

(04:45):
you. See, life is aboutpeople and projects. Hungry to finish the
projects, the work that has beengiven to you. Commit thy works unto
the Lord, and I thought youshould be established in all thy ways.
Acknowledge him and he shall direct thypath. There's some things that you can
do that you need to be aboutyour father's business to get those things done.

(05:05):
But unless I don't know if Ican do it, well, you
don't know if you can't do it, You don't know enough about yourself to
be a critic. Decide that you'regoing to live life on your terms,
to live full and to die emptyand rob the symmetry of your genius,
of your ideas, of your inventions, of your talents, of your gifts.

(05:29):
Got to be hungry in order tomake the things happen that you want
to achieve. Because you're going tobe going against the arts, things are
going to happen. A lot offailure, a lot of disappointment. Many
of you have rebuilding your life. You've lost your job, your businesses have
gone under you've lost loved ones, and life has just taken its toll on

(05:53):
you, on all of us,and those of us that will rise are
hungry. People that are hungry areunstoppable. People that are hungry are relentless.
They do what all mendinos say,You must persist until you succeed.
People that are hungry know that youwill fail your way to success. And

(06:15):
so as you look at yourself andlook at your goals, what are the
most important things in your life thatwill give your life a sense of fulfillment,
a sense of significance. What isit that brings you joy and brings
you happiness? What is that? What's your sweet spot? You need to
know that people who don't know wherethey're going will end up someplace else.

(06:41):
Be clear. People that are hungryhave a vision for what they want,
and all the choices that they makeare in alignment with that vision. Those
who hunger and thirst after righteousness, right thoughts, right feelings, right words,

(07:05):
right actions, right relationship, Thosewho hunger and thirst after righteousness shall
be filled. Here's the next thing. Be still. When something happens out
of alignment of what you expect, fear comes in and and fear when we

(07:28):
look at it, one or twothings will happen. And most people,
when fear shows up, they watch, they listen, and they run.
But then there's another group, asmall number of groups that you know,
the road to life is straight andnarrow, and few there be that find

(07:49):
it, and few there be thatare willing to take the stand to live
a fearless life. Those individuals theyface everything and rise. And so what
group are you in? See?A lot of people are watching television day

(08:09):
in and day out, and it'sdesigned to program you with fear. No,
no, you want to be stilland know that this is not the
end of the world for you.Be still and know that you're going to
be stronger on the other side.Be still and know that God is still

(08:31):
in charge. You remember that thatplayed the color purple and there was a
song in there saying God is tryingto tell you something. Yes, I
think God just said, you knowwhat, you'all acting so crazy? Everybody,
go to your room right now.Go to your room. Don't come
out till I say so. Becausethis time where we are has shaken us

(08:58):
to the core of our being. And so this is the time to be
still and know that God is incharge, and he'll never leave you nor
forsake you. That you are morethan a conqueror. Be still and know
that greater is he that's in youthan he that's in the world. Be

(09:20):
still and know that God's got ourbacks. Here's the next thing. As
you look at yourself, look atyour goals, and look at your dreams,
not only must we be hungry andunstoppable and determine and driven and willing
to persevere and fail our way tosuccess, and to be still to go

(09:41):
within. Seek ye first a Kingdomof God and its righteousness, and all
these things will be added unto you. When shall the Kingdom of God come?
The Kingdom of God cometh not byobservation, they shall say, is
neither lo there low here behold theKingdom of God is within you. Take
the time to develop yourself, towork on yourself, to expand your mind

(10:07):
and your vision of yourself, becauseyou can do more than you can ever
begin to imagine. And just becauseyou can't see it does not mean that
you can't do it. You don'tknow enough about yourself to be a cynic.
Be still and know that things aregoing to work out for you.
George Washington Covers said, do whatyou can where you are, with what

(10:31):
you have, and never be satisfied. And that is so very important.
What talents, what abilities? Whatare skills that as you stop and think
about your life and begin to rethinkyour life, that you need to develop,
that you need to upgrade. Whatnew relationships do you need to begin

(10:52):
to develop or deepen so that youcan begin to take your life to the
next level, So that and weemerge out of this, that you'll be
better because of this. And thenext thing, be present. See,
most people go through life unconscious. Most people die at age twenty five and

(11:16):
don't get buried until they're sixty five. They're doing the same thing in the
same way each and every day.Einstein said, if you do the same
thing in the same way and expecta different outcome, that's a form of
insanity. No, be present andask yourself to question, what is it

(11:37):
about me that I need to changeat this point in time now that I
have this downtime. Oh, bythe way, my son John Leslie,
he calls downtime downtime because that's thetime that most people spend time engaged in
activity that keep their lives from goingup, you want to max surmise your

(12:01):
down time. That's what he says. Maximize your down time so that you
engaged in activities, learning and growingand expanding yourself, expanding your mind and
learning something today that you didn't knowyesterday. Growing mentally and spiritually, improving
your health. What's your strategy forbeing here? And improving your relationships and

(12:26):
strengthening your relationship with your family andyour friends, and with your self.
Being present about yourself and ask yourselfto question who am I really? How
am I showing up in my life? What are the things that I need
to change about myself? As anold saying, where you find yourself at

(12:48):
some point in time, you madean appointment to be there. So as
you look at yourself, what areyou hungry to do? What's in your
heart? Where your heart is there, your treasure is also. I was
asking a guy, a good friendof mine, what did he wanted to
do with his life just the otherday, and he said, man,

(13:09):
I don't know. I said, how old are you? He said fifty
five? I say, WHOA?I said, You're still in diapers?
I'm seventy five. Don't you thinkyou ought to start thinking about it.
You spent most of your life workingon a job just to pay the bills.
You were miserable on the job,and at the same time, you

(13:31):
didn't want to get fired. That'swhat you call mixed emotions. When you
see somebody you hate drive off acliff in your car, you're glad they're
gone, but not in your car. And so sometimes we have to really

(13:52):
find out what do we want becauseas we get older, our desires and
the things that we want they changeand we have to rethink our lives.
We have to upgrade our strategies ofwhat we're going to do to get there.
We're looking for a breakthrough, andthen sometimes we need help and assistance.

(14:13):
I teach that if you have goalsand dreams you want to achieve,
don't try and do it by yourself. Ask for help, not because you're
weak, but because you want toremain strong, and ask for help and
don't stop until you get it.People that are hungry know the value of
creating collaborative, achievement driven supportive relationshipsand be present in your life. What

(14:37):
are the behaviors that you've been engagedin that you know that's a liability?
Get some caring feedback from people thatlove you, who care about you,
and who will hold you to ahigher standard, who will hold you accountable.
Are some things that we don't knowabout ourselves. Psychologists they call them

(14:58):
Scatomas Thomas. You know what it'slike. It's like when you smell somebody's
breath and you didn't tell them itwas kicking, like Bruce Lee. There's
certain things that we just need peoplein our lives, that we give them
permission to be courageous enough to tellus what we need to hear, not

(15:22):
what we want to hear. Andwhen you're hungry to become successful, you're
open to the feedback. When you'rehungry enough to be successful, you're willing
to be still and observe yourself andobserve life and ask yourself, what is
it I want next in my life? And when you're present in your life,

(15:43):
when you show out in your lifeand live life on your terms,
life takes on a whole meaning. It's been said, it's not the number
of breath that we take, it'sthe number of moments to take our breath
away. Yeah, life is tobe lived when you're hungry for that which

(16:08):
is in your heart, when youget still and say, speak Lord,
thy servant, heareth THEE, moreof THEE and less of me. When
you listen to your heart, andwhen you're present to yourself and begin to
correct yourself, Paul said, thatwhich I should do, I don't do,
and that which I shouldn't do,I do. And when you check

(16:32):
yourself and ask those around you tocheck you upgrade your relationships. Practice o
QP only quality people. Who shouldyou count on? As Jr. And
Leslie would say, and who shouldyou count out? There are people and
so call friends and family members. They're always there when they need you,

(16:57):
but when you need them they arenowhere to be found. How do we
make it through this time? Wherewe are? You gotta be hungry,
Be hungry, be still and knowyou will get through this And be present,

(17:17):
Be present, enjoy the moment.Live each day as if it were
your last, because one day itwill be. Nobody has figured out how
to get out of life alive. You got to die to leave here.
You deserve that the best that lifehas to offer. Be present in your

(17:41):
life. Be present with yourself,Be present with your family and your friends
and your personal relationships, and begrateful all things work together for good,
for those who love God, andfor those who are called according to His

(18:02):
purpose. Be grateful that you're stillhere. There's something else for you to
do. I have a friend.Every time I call him oron Hudson,
I said, how are you doing? He said, the best day of
my life. I asked myself, how could he say that? And I
knew he's going through a tough timeat that time. And then I realized,

(18:23):
when you wake up and there's nota chalk outline around your body,
when you wake up and you gota pulse and you're in your right mind,
it's the best day of your life. If you don't believe it,
try missing one. This is Missusmaybe Brown, baby Boy, less Brown

(18:53):
reminding you that you have something special, you have greatness in you. Use
this time to develop and to cultivateyour greatness. And when you're pursuing your
greatness, you don't know what yourlimits are, so you act like you
don't have any You have something special, you have greatness in you. That's

(19:17):
my story and I'm sticking to it. You are listening to Less Brown Greatness
