Speaker 1 (00:15):
Hi, this is Chico Resh.

Speaker 2 (00:17):
You are listening to the Let's Go Devil's podcast on
the Primetime Radio network. Happy Devils Thursday. This is Game
Day Live. Come to you live live from the Primetime
Radio studios inside the Bunker in an undisclosed location, beautiful
New Jersey from the highest point of the Garden State
cross half continent to Chicago, Illinois. It's Vinnie Parisi and

(00:43):
Short Sky. I'm your host, Sam Wu Streaming live on
Facebook Live, YouTube Live, x Live and Twitch on the
Let's Go Devil's Network as the Devil's take on the
South South Jersey team, the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at the
Lenovo Center. Good evening, good morning, good afternoon, wherever you are.

(01:08):
Some some places may think this is the Morning WU
right now in Australia or something like that.

Speaker 1 (01:14):
I don't know. I don't know, but.

Speaker 2 (01:18):
We got folks filing in there, you know, just just
to start off. I mean, it is good to see
you guys. Short Sky, you're back in the mix. I
see that you've got Jersey jerseys everywhere. I got the
other Jersey jersey laying on the floor right now waiting
for that Palazza stitching on. I just got a Venmo.
The guy just haven't got to it yet. Plus I

(01:41):
don't want to really part ways with my money too.
And Vinnie, you're looking You're looking good.

Speaker 1 (01:47):
Vinnie, thank you. I appreciate it. I'm happy to be back.
What is this year number four of Game Day Live?
So you know, two out of the three years we've
done this so far, the New Jersey Devils were a
playoff team. We're hope and to make that three out
of four this year. No, that's not correct. They definitely
missed twice. This is is this year five? I have here?

(02:08):
I know it's season nine. Man, No, this is your
Big five. The Big Show is in like year nine
or whatever.

Speaker 3 (02:16):
Yeah nine.

Speaker 1 (02:19):
I think they fine.

Speaker 3 (02:22):
I think I joined Game Day Life sometime in like
the winter of twenty two. Yeah, yeah, they jumped on
Game Day Live.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
I think that first season, that first season me and
Sam did where the kay broke the camera on opening night.
That was the really, really hard year. The Devils were
so bad. They had the second overall pick because they
were so bad. And then the following year they like
had that surprise year that made the playoffs. So that's two.
Then the year after they had that disappointing year where

(02:51):
they were good but they never were gabled. That was
the stadium series year, and then last year. So yeah,
this is year five. Holy nikes, that's wild, Nikes, because
boot she's calling the game tonight. Yeah, that's wild. This
is year five. Congratulations boys, amazing seriously. Yeah, thank you
for bringing me on. Thank you for bringing me on over.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
The course of those five years, because that was just
a I just wanted to come on and do something
and here I am just as part of the show
as the rest of you. So it's a it's good
to be back. It's going to be a part of
this as always. And the Devils are back, guys, the
Devils are back.

Speaker 1 (03:31):
Definitely, they are. I'm really excited about it too, because
their bottom six, in my opinion, is markedly better than
it was last year. You know, last year they were
a pretty good team. Things got bad when Jack got hurt,
because that's a significant portion of your offense being taken
out of the lineup. But you throw in our Sonny Gritsuk,
who looked awesome in the preseason. You throw any dadnov

(03:54):
who scores twenty goals by accident every year. He's never
two flashy. He's never one of the league's top score
but he's a real good middle six, bottom six forward
who can snipe with him. And then Connor Brown, who's
been a real consistent bottom six forward in his NHL
career as well. I like what this Devil's team did
during the summer. Do I think they're set? No, I

(04:14):
think they could use a third line center, like a
true blood third line center. Wouldn't shock me if another
winger was added to the top six at some point.
But hey, after you know, coming into this year, I'm
real excited.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
Yeah, it's uh, this is this is a year to
be excited. You know. We we've gone through the summer
worrying about the Luke thing. Uh, he's here, he's here
for you know, to stay. Uh you know, Jack is healthy.
You've got Markstrom that wants to play his way into
a good contract extension, which would be my hope. This

(04:51):
is there's this is the best time of season because
it's filled with so much hope. There's there's so much
belief that we can really do it. I mean we
we We got to see the season open up with
the Rangers losing to the Penguins, which is always great
to see the Rangers losing, and you know the Devils
have this. I don't know, it's there's a field to

(05:13):
the team. Maybe I'm just happy that they're back. Maybe
I'm happy that I have two jersey jerseys that have
gotten personalized this summer. The one you see over my
shoulder with my name on it, and the other one
has Markstrom on it, which I've been I've been told
by Brook Amanda it's no longer mine, it's our jersey.
But yeah, I'm excited just just to be back. And

(05:36):
I gotta say this, Vinnie, I needed a mark Strom jersey.
I'm gonna just I'm gonna go back to the end
of last season against the same Hurricane team we're scene tonight.
At the end of last season. Jacob Markstrom, who I
loved going into the season. After that goal is scored,
he looked like he wanted to just heave his stick
two hundred feet down the ice. And I saw that.

(05:58):
I said, this is my guy, eat his jersey, and
I needed to have his name on a black jersey.
And that's what I got over the summer, and I
cannot wait. I love it.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
And my story is completely different from yours. With that
jersey jersey.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
I know it is. I know it is.

Speaker 2 (06:14):
I know because I got hounded by you the fans
to get rid of a lot.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
So I'm gonna be a good sport.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I'm gonna be a big Pilot fan because this is
how it rolls, like I was a big John Marino fan.
So I'm I've lied to myself that I'm a big
plot fan and I and I got a plot chant
at the games. You want to hear it, I'll Jersey Jersey,
plot Jersey.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
It's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Plot that works, that works.

Speaker 1 (06:49):
Sam traded a lot.

Speaker 3 (06:57):
Oh, just be careful, Just be careful. You don't want
to run a foul of swim because he does love Pali.

Speaker 1 (07:03):
I know he does.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Maybe maybe after he's traded, I can give him that
jersey jersey to swim so you can use that to,
you know, clean up clean up the baby's mess or
something like that around the house.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I will admit I used to hate the jersey jersey
and it grew on me and I just had to
get it.

Speaker 1 (07:23):
Out from under you.

Speaker 3 (07:25):
Yeah, well you know what that that means. It's that
means I was right to get it when I got it,
because I got the Adidas ones. I don't need a
Finax one. I got the Adidas ones.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
I just they're the ones that have actually short sky.
You can attest to it because I've been questioned about
my integrity here and my honesty. You and I did
have a conversation the day before it was announced about
getting the jersey jersey, and I said, the reason why
I'm held off because I didn't know where to stitch
it about the pricing, because I'm not going to spend like,

(07:55):
you know, three hundred dollars on a jersey. It was
it was at seventy eight or seventy two dollars on clearance.
Then it was like ninety three dollars. It was on
fanatics dot com and it was Adidas jersey no less.
And I held off for two weeks because I didn't
understand why there was a and then you explained to
me the price fluctuation, and then of course Tom reminded

(08:16):
me about it, so of course I get it, and
literally an hour later the press release this is the
last year in Jersey Jersey. So yeah, yeah, you know,
so you know it is a true story. We don't
make stuff up.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I know.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Vinny factchecks my, my, my dates. You know about Brewer
being at a One Direction concert in twenty twelve, and
that's that's the reason why he was at the game
with this.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
You know, It's not that I didn't believe you. I
just wanted to see how closely you remembered it, like,
even if it was like a day off, And no
it wasn't. It was perfect.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
Uh. By the way, Vin, I got a question for you.
Does a black and white Devil's jersey count his wedding attire?

Speaker 1 (09:00):
M hm hm. I'm gonna have to get back to
you on that one. Corporate for that one.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
Yeah, I gotta go to corporate, you know, yeah, yeah,
exactly in my world.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
Absolutely, Okay, in my world absolutely, at least on the
side for a picture for sure.

Speaker 3 (09:18):
You know, well, I'll definitely have at least one, maybe
two Devil's jerseys.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Wait a minute, No, that would be awesome if we
all had a jersey jersey with us to throw on
over nice clothes for a picture.

Speaker 3 (09:30):
I actually think that's a must.

Speaker 1 (09:31):
I'm calling that a must. I'm calling that a musk. Okay, wow,
bring a jersey jersey, bring pack a jersey jersey. I
will make sure I have one with me too. Absolutely.
I love that idea. I love that idea. Throw it
over the talks for a picture. I'm not even breaking
any rules. I'm not leaving it on. It's for one picture.

Speaker 3 (09:50):
I love it. It is, it's black, it's black.

Speaker 1 (09:53):
There. If there wasn't an HL jersey that could be
worn at a wedding, I think the jersey jersey would
be one of like three that, like you absolutely realistically,
could Chicago had a Winter Classic jersey one?

Speaker 3 (10:07):
You did that idea very similar?

Speaker 1 (10:11):
Yeah, and then I think any Los Angeles Kings jersey
that's not yellow and purple, you know, most of those
would probably fit into But we're not Kings fans or
Blackhawks fans, even though there's gonna be a fair amount
of black Hawks fans around us laughing at us when
we take this picture. But yes, very good idea. Vinny.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
I got to point out something, sorry, because he's about
to get married. Okay, I went through the same thing
too a little bit. It's like when shorts guy asked
that question, he almost sounded like a cop like something.
It's like shorts guy is asking something illegal, but the
cop is always like, well, if we're up to me,
you know, blah blah blah. But but I still got

(10:51):
to you know, that's what it kind of sound like.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
That's how it is. Yeah, that's how it is. Go
to corporate. Get missus w missus WU actually writes the
script for this show, so Sam knows, oh yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Uh we got a j Visco says that I'm going
to be in a T shirt tucks for your wedding,
and then Brooke quickly shut him, shut him down, saying
that she's gonna be the one in charge of my
wardrobe for the day.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
So that's amazing.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
But Sam will attested as Vinnie, I can be a
menace at a wedding.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
Hey, you you probably you probably won't even back the
top ten.

Speaker 2 (11:33):
If I know my guest is allowed the horn? Is
he allowed to bring the horn? He had the horn
of my wedding.

Speaker 3 (11:41):
I did. We'll talk to Congress. We'll talk to Congress,
all right, pulled that hole on one more, one more.
Michael Descal wants to know if I'm wearing shorts. Michael
Descala wants to know if I'm wearing shorts to your wedding. Vin,
But that's another question for corporate as well.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
Yeah, yeah, for sure. I mean, I think that'd be
really fun. Shorts guy, well, relative, relative I barely talk to.

Speaker 2 (12:10):
When you talk to corporate, you say, look, we're doing
cocktail hour. It's part of the show. Stick, you know, gigs.

Speaker 3 (12:16):
We can't let's all get out yet.

Speaker 1 (12:18):
Oh yeah, maybe corporate.

Speaker 3 (12:19):
Corporate curtains still curtains still closed a little bit.

Speaker 1 (12:25):
Katie saw shorts guy wear shorts at the Stadium series,
which is.

Speaker 3 (12:30):
Our day she met me. The day she met me.

Speaker 1 (12:34):
Was I bought a bud light and it was frozen
by the time I got back to my shorts. Guys
and shorts. I mean, that was the most ridiculous non
exception I've ever been made to a rule in my
whole life.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
Oh my gosh, that was. That was so cold. But
I had to do it. I just had to do it.
I got so many odd looks that day. Everyone was like,
what's the wrong with this guy?

Speaker 1 (12:56):
Took his shirt off? And then.

Speaker 3 (13:00):
You know, that was that was the big Yeah, yeah,
that was. Although one last story before we before we
move on to apparently there's a game tonight. When I
was getting fitted for a tux for Swim's wedding. Shwim
of hockey on tap that we were talking to the
guy that ran the the the tuxedo suit shop whatever.

(13:22):
He said. He had a wedding to where the groom
that was getting married was was very much like me.
War shorts all the time, and they had everyone with
customs shorts suits for that wedding.

Speaker 1 (13:34):
That's awesome. That is awesome. That is awesome. That's how
you know you're special.

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Oh yeah, all right, guys. So New Jersey Devils Carolina Hurricanes.
Last time we saw the Devils play, they lost Game
five h that was in double overtime. I believe we're
in triple double overtime doubles. Devils ran out of gas
in the end there. They had the lead in early

(14:02):
in beginning, but everything caught up.

Speaker 1 (14:05):
You know what.

Speaker 2 (14:06):
Chico Rush and I had this discussion and he wanted
me to have this discussion with you guys. When you
look at the Devils on paper right now, they look
really good. They look really good, especially in the excuse
me and the cap era. But the one thing that
stood out to Chico was that first line Hughes, Dananoff

(14:30):
and Bratt, And he wants to know and he's gonna
periodically ask me what are the fans saying during the season.
Chico feels that the Devils are one player away, Like
when he was on the Islanders in nineteen seventy nine,
they had Butch Goring that trade that brought it and

(14:52):
it changed everything. Chico in his opinion, and he's a
man we respect, good friend of the p knowledgeable, want
to Stanley Cup.

Speaker 1 (15:04):
Is my favorite member of the media. Yes, yes, so awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:12):
Chigo wants to know throughout the season. He's gonna keep
on asking us short Sky and I and Vinnie who
is that guy? And there were some names that we
threw out on the Morning WU and on the Woo Report.
You know, Jason Robertson. Could they make a trade for him?
Who's that winner? Because there's no way Dananoff would stay
on that first line throughout the entire season. You got

(15:35):
to get Jack Hughes, a sniper, somebody that can open
up the game for him.

Speaker 1 (15:41):
So I have two, okay, go ahead. One of them
used to play for the Buffalo Sabers. One of them
currently plays for the Buffalo Sabers. The one that used
to play for the Buffalo Sabers is Ryan O'Reilly. Ryan
O'Reilly is capable of playing that third line center or
being a winger on any line, and if you put
him as a winger in the top six, maybe you

(16:02):
could make Dawson Mercer your third line center. Or you
could put Ryan O'Reilly in that spot next to Bratton
Hughes and keep Dawson Mercer exactly where he is and
you know, keep what like there or move There are
all sorts of opportunity. You could put O'Reilly as the
third line center and then you're running Hughes. He share

(16:22):
O'Reilly as a you know, a pretty nice three headed monster.
Another one that comes to mind is a current Buffalo Saber.
I think the Devils have what it takes to pull
off a trade for Tage Thompson if the Buffalo Sabers
are kind of where I think. Unfortunately, because guys all
by us aside, let's pretend this is the Let's Go

(16:44):
Hockey podcast and not the Let's Go Double podcast. I
wish the Buffalo Sabers were great. It's an outstanding NHL market.
Every year, when you watch the Stanley Cup Final and
you hear about the ratings, it's always the two markets
that made the Stanley Cup Final and Buffalo as the
top three and then so I just think they and
they're on a fourteen year draft of making the playoffs,

(17:05):
the longest in the National Hockey League by far. It
stinks that they are what they are, but they are
what they are. If the Devils could pull off a
trade for someone like Tage Thompson in their top six,
it would be unbelievable the things that because I think
there are five or six players in the NHL who
have a one time slap shot the way that Tage

(17:27):
Thompson does. I still think Stam cost probably is up there.
Ovechkin obviously, Jack Egel, Mika Zabanajad. I'm hearing good things
about this kid, Jimmy Snugger Route in Saint Louis, who's
got apparently got a similar skill set. Guys like that,
just that one timer. There's really not many like that,
and I think if you put one on the Devil's

(17:48):
top line with pass first stars like Jack Hughes and
Jasper Bratt, they could really, really, really be a Cup team.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
And the Devils have assets to trade back to Buffalo
play with question with Lindy Rough being the coach, Guys,
he already has an evaluation of most of these players
with his diamond new jersey. It's just a matter of
is Buffalo willing to part ways with him in the
future within the conference. But they're gonna the Devils are

(18:17):
gonna have to pay a steep price. And you know
some people, you know, I'm seeing the YouTube live some
of the names you know that are out there, like
Skinner or Stamcost. But when Chico and I talked, it's
got to be somebody that's about to enter the prime
where they can grow with Jack Hughes. Jack Hughes is
in the middle of his eight year contract right now.

(18:40):
He's never had two elite wingers on both sides. If
you give him two elite wingers on both sides around
the same age as Jack and you can build on it.
You're talking a devastating first line with the second line

(19:01):
of hesher Meyer and Mercer, that would be devastating. And
then you moved Dan and off the third or fourth line.
Suddenly lines one through four look really really good at
that point.

Speaker 1 (19:16):
And if you make a move like that, like Bratt
has not only not had a second elite winger, he's
never really had like a pure goal scorer Kyle Paul
Mary's the closest thing. Taylor Hall was a past first player,
even though he did score a lot of goals with
the Devils. I would say Taylor Hall was passed first.
Kyle Paul Mary ripped it on ned as soon as
he got it, but he was probably more like a

(19:37):
B tier sniper rather than an eight tiers. And I
love Kyle Paul Mary. I would have taken him when
the Islander signed him last summer. I was a little annoyed.
I thought he would have been a great third line
winger for the Devils, chip in an extra twenty goals.
They got Dad nov instead, But I don't know. I
would love to hear what you think though, shorts guy, Hey.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Guys live looking at Lenovo's Center. Intern Robs invading.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
The intern Rob always coming.

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yeah, we have his mic off and uh you know again,
we don't want to pollute the podcast with the girdle
audio and you know possible.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
I just did I just see a ninety five cup
shirt walk by?

Speaker 2 (20:18):
Maybe I think I just saw some stadium series jerseys.
I know there's a meetup. I know there's a meetup
at the Lenovo Center. I've seen some online uh Facebook.

Speaker 3 (20:28):
Yeah, I wish I could get down there. I wish
I could be there.

Speaker 1 (20:31):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (20:32):
Look, I'm so looking forward to this time next week, Sam,
because we're going to be there.

Speaker 2 (20:37):
Yeah, at American Whiskey, looking to do the big stage out.

Speaker 1 (20:42):
On Edison Place.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
I mean, just just seeing this video there's live look
in at Lenova Center from intern Rob down at Raleigh
also known as South South Jersey. That now it's starting
to hit us. It's now hit me is back all
the sports teams. The Yankees got eliminated yesterday. They yeah,

(21:08):
they you know, you lose.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
Good day, sir.

Speaker 2 (21:11):
You know, by the way, a shorts guy. A year
ago today, you and I were at City Field for
that Lindor game.

Speaker 3 (21:20):
And we we witnessed one of the greatest moments in
New York Mets history.

Speaker 1 (21:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (21:28):
While you were dressed as Grimace, your mother in law
was dressed as the Hamburglar, and missus WU was beside
herself and I was doing nothing but causing, just being
a menace.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
Yeah, Corporate Corporate was was in damage control at that point.
The surprised her with the Grimace and the Hamburglar. Yeah,
but Lindor's brand slam more than made up?

Speaker 3 (21:59):
Did it? Did it ever?

Speaker 1 (22:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (22:00):
Did it ever? I think by this point of that night,
I was feeling pretty darn good.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Oh yeah, yeah, pretty darn good.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
Uh oh, it's a New York Rangers fan, That's what
he was doing.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
Okay, that's that's that's acceptable.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
That's acceptable giving the New York Rangers fan the bird
at Lenovo Center as the Devil's take on the Hurricanes.

Speaker 3 (22:27):
Jersey salute, the jersey salute.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
No, just in turn, Rob's just saying who's number one?
That's all. That's all. It looked like truba Truba.

Speaker 3 (22:39):
Yeah, I have Oh there go.

Speaker 1 (22:43):
I might hate the Hurricanes more right now, not in
the general sense of sports team hate. That would obviously
be the Rangers. But the Devils are nine to one
in their last ten visits to the Lenovo Center, and
there they're just.

Speaker 3 (23:03):
You know what, the you can you can absolutely hate
another team aside from the Rangers, and I know that
the Devil's and the Hurricanes. I want to say, since
since that, and I always forget the year, but since
since the year with the series where we lost the
series in the last ninety seconds. Sam and I were
there for that deboggle, but Carolina is absolutely becoming uh

(23:26):
a Devil's rival, and I'm and I'm all for it
because there's there's a lot of Hurricane fans excuse me,
a lot of Devils fans in that area and it's
easy to get to. That's that's it's on my list
of away trips that I would love to do is
go down to a game in Carolina. I've been absolutely
it's I know you've been there, Sam. I would like
to go get down there at some point. And plus

(23:51):
it'll it'll it'll allow me to color in yet another
state that I've visited, because I've not yet been to
North Carolina, which Vinnie. When I when I come out
to Illinois this year, that'll be like I think I'll
go over half. I think that'll be state number twenty
six that I've been to over the course of my life,
so i'll be more than half of the fifty United

(24:12):
States that I'll have visited.

Speaker 1 (24:14):
Very good. I would love to visit me too, because
I've been to the Deep South for football more than once. Nashville, Georgia, Arkansas,
I've been like that's you know, that's football country. Going
there for a hockey game. I imagine being an awesome experience.

Speaker 3 (24:34):
Yeah, and we're gonna have to put Nashville on that
list too, because Nashville is a fantastic city, which if
you know, you've been there, so it's it's definitely a
good time to go visit.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
I've never been to a Predators game. I've been inside
the Bridgetone Arena, but it was just for their shop.
It was the summer, but their shop was opened to
buy jerseys and okay, the Predators. The Predators trade at
Sue Band of the Devils like a couple of weeks
after I was there, but his jersey was all over
the place. Okay, So yeah, getting getting to Carolina though,
I like. I like the look of their stadium, a

(25:07):
lot of red in there. It's a different kind of.

Speaker 3 (25:11):
Yeah. Uh while we're watching this live looking, I need
to say hello to uh my little Eloise that's listening
out there with with Brooke Amanda. So hello there, Eloise.
WHOA thank you for Anthony. Anthony, right, Anthony, thank you,

(25:32):
joys all, very welcome Anthony, all.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
The hard work you put in the show easily top
with one of the top podcasts that helps me get
through my work week.

Speaker 1 (25:41):
One million downloads. Congratulations, gentlemen. Thank you. Anthony. Hey, let
me tell you.

Speaker 2 (25:48):
We added The Morning Woo to the platform. So we've
cornered the am market and the theme song. The reviews
it sounds like an annoying alarm clock, but it's catchy
and it's in everybody's heads right now.

Speaker 3 (26:06):
The Morning wu yeah, the morning wu oh? Real quick.
Michael Rossi said that we should just go on down
to Carolina. He'll show us all the good places to eat.
So Michael Rossi will We'll take you up on that offer. No, no,
or Michael Rossi, is that about Carolina or Tennessee. You

(26:27):
gotta let me know because I'm really not sure. But
I'm in Carolina, Carolina. I'm in. I'm in, I'm in.
I love to uh to travel for sports, So yeah,
count me and Michael.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
Yeah. Also, I dropped the date to Brook.

Speaker 2 (26:43):
Amanda Elois says, go Devils and Hi, Techie, is that
danned off? I'm not sure what he's talking about, Dave Singer,
But January seventeenth is our million party Saturday January at
American Whiskey. It's gonna be huge. I'm I'm I'm assuming

(27:05):
we're gonna need every square inch of square footage in
that place because it's gonna be gigantic, gigantic one million party. Unfortunately,
DJ Shelley has a scheduling conflict. Yeah, yeah, it's actually
her sister's birthday. She's actually gonna be Yeah, she's got

(27:29):
like you know, they all look like Shelley.

Speaker 1 (27:32):
Believe or not. They all look the same. They all
it's funny. So and they're all DJs.

Speaker 2 (27:39):
Too, I believe or not of course, because they're that
pete you know that to raise kids. Uh anyway, but yeah,
Plus I don't know where we're gonna be this season,
uh in terms of traveling, So we're gonna figure out.
We're gonna figure that one out. YEA, thank you everyone.

Speaker 1 (28:09):
A J Visco. The law office is a J Visco.

Speaker 2 (28:13):
Katie wants to get married in Tennessee, so I might
have to convince her to do it. When the devils
play the pro l.

Speaker 3 (28:21):
O L you don't really mean L L A A J.
I know you'll, you'll do all you can. She was
she was there when when she was quite pregnant in Tampa,
so I think you can convince her.

Speaker 2 (28:38):
I'm looking at the live feed here, the live looking
you got some Devils fans. Santa is that Santa? Is
that Santa?

Speaker 1 (28:49):
Oh my god, I know him, Sat Even Santa hates
the Rangers.

Speaker 3 (28:55):
That was always the best on his Oh it's not
the Santa.

Speaker 1 (29:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:02):
We used to have a section two eighteen Santa. Yeah,
I haven't heard from him in years. I have his
phone number. Yeah, I'm too afraid to call. Remember Mailman Joe.

Speaker 3 (29:15):
Mail Man Joe was remember all of them, the.

Speaker 2 (29:18):
Postal worker that invented the kill chat. That's where it
was invented. Uh, Mailman Joe because he would just sit
there and yell kill kill and it.

Speaker 1 (29:30):
Has a stabbing motion. And then we all started doing
because we we we we like him.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
You know Santa, I know him?

Speaker 3 (29:39):
Oh uh oh A. J. Visko just said, if he
gets his wedding in Tennessee, we're all invited.

Speaker 2 (29:45):
Are we doing cocktail hour?

Speaker 1 (29:48):
Are we doing what you wish for? Be careful?

Speaker 3 (29:51):
Ah?

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Well, I think we should probably start getting in who
are predictions? I know some folks have already put it in.
I don't know if it's because of time constraints or whatnot,
but people are putting their predictions in. And I don't
know if we should do game predictions, season predictions, all
that kind of stuff. I know Short Sky made a

(30:18):
bold prediction. I made the same prediction as well, but
it was four years ago about the Devils, and I
don't want to spoil short Sky and it's thunder there.
But I'll let you talk about that in a second.
But Wimpy says two nothing Devils tonight, Steven Tartaz says
three to two Devils. Corvin says five to three Devils.

(30:39):
As we're getting the scores, your predictions in, put them
in the YouTube live right now at Let's go Devils.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
So what are your thoughts? Guys?

Speaker 3 (30:50):
Who then you want to go first?

Speaker 1 (30:54):
Yeah, I'm gonna pick the Devils to win tonight's game
and get their first winning Raleigh in ten drive with
a score of.

Speaker 3 (31:04):
One.

Speaker 1 (31:04):
Thing I've noticed team so far this season, stars are
producing earlyer, other players are having a tough time scoring.
Devils have stars, so and that's one thing you can
say about them. I'm gonna pick them to win four
to two, four.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
To two, all right, So this team ended last year
on a sour note in this building. They get to
open up this year and start the year on a
great note and just take it to the Canes, take
it to their fans. Jacob Markstum. The last time we

(31:44):
saw him, he was ready to pitch his stick two
hundred feet and that made me love the guy even
more because of his passion, his heart, his dedication to
the team, his unhinged goaltender, just persona which we're all
mentally unwell. So I'm gonna go four to one Devils

(32:04):
with a victory tonight in Carolina.

Speaker 1 (32:09):
Very good.

Speaker 2 (32:12):
Sorry, guys, I forgot to set my fantasy team and
I'm like, oh crap.

Speaker 3 (32:17):
And I just I set mine.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
Yeah, I'm screwed because.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Sorokan and uh yeah, Sarrokan's I wish I got him starting,
but I got Custinston starting. Anyway, enough of my fantasy hockey.
So look, this is the year of the New Jersey Devils.

Speaker 3 (32:41):
I called it.

Speaker 1 (32:42):
I predicted.

Speaker 2 (32:43):
Here's five years ago during the pandemic when we lost
thirteen to two and Andreas Johnson was on the team.
That's the original football call. We didn't know how to
pronounce his name, so we just called him Andre Johnson.
And as soon as I got entre Johnson Jersey, I
think he retired or something.

Speaker 1 (33:04):
Dumb yeah, no.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
No, Andre Johnson like the football player. I think he retired.
Oh yeah, I actually got it like Texan's Andre Johnson.
Jersey Anyway, long story short, I think this is a
statement game for the New Jersey Devils. I think the
Carolina Hurricanes there there. I have said, they're always above

(33:29):
average but not elite, and they're looking to take it
to the next level. But their owner, you know, I
complained about Joshua Harris, but their owner is like weird
with this money, very weird. How he spends his money,
and goaltending is an issue. It's not sustainable untill they

(33:49):
have goaltending. I view the Carolina Hurricanes to be above
average team. On that note, it's gonna be a nine
to two victory over the Carolina Hurricanes opening night. And
Jack Hughes is gonna be Jack Hughes, Dananov is gonna
be dandy.

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Andre Pillotte is gonna be minus two and it was
both goals that he was on the ice flo The
power play is gonna have a lot of power and
nine to.

Speaker 1 (34:20):
Two, Okay, Yeah, that's what I like to hear. Yeah,
we gotta go with these predictions. These predictions a lot.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Of the there there's a lot. Uh, oh my goodness,
Sam I think has outwooed Sam Wu with his prediction.

Speaker 1 (34:39):
Is that even possible?

Speaker 3 (34:41):
It is dikin ninety nine Canes won. Who that out
woo's the Wu.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
Four to two Devil's Jack Ques three point night, John
Carolina three and J One. I don't know if he's
a Carolinas fan or reverse psychology, but we did read it. Uh,
Little Bubbs four two devils. Broo Commanda for to one,
Marky coming in a clutch, Oh my goodness, four to

(35:19):
three devs, Michael Hey devils five to two. Dave Singer
for to three devils, the law offices of a j Visco.
If you trip on a crack at Massive Square Gardens,
sue the heck out of James Dolan, go to law
offices Visco. Six to one Devils.

Speaker 1 (35:40):
SHARONN. Goon says, uh, some four devils.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
Matt Freudenberger good friend of the podcast, guy that has
resources for two devils.

Speaker 1 (35:52):
He says, you guys want to recast of the scores?

Speaker 3 (35:56):
I got it. Michael descalis is three over time. Wow,
that'll be that'll be a close one. Uh will the
devil score more than the Giants tonight, trum goon, that's
a great question.

Speaker 4 (36:11):
Geez uh, here we got I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go.
No for your guys' sake, No, for your sake. Oh
my god.

Speaker 1 (36:19):
And then.

Speaker 3 (36:21):
And the the oh my goodness score of ninety nine
to one here, Vinnie, I'll let you finish out the
rest here with Eddie score right there.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
Let me let me get it up, Let me get
it up. You said Eddie, Eddie, Yeah, he's Eddie's there.

Speaker 2 (36:38):
Start with Dev's fan Josh.

Speaker 1 (36:42):
Eddie three devils. Eddie says three two Devils. Eric says
three to one. Devils. Sportsman says five to one.

Speaker 3 (36:53):
Came boo.

Speaker 1 (36:57):
Sportsman wanted to oh no, no, no, no, no no.
I think this is definitely a Hurricanes fan, considering they
say Dougie scores the only Devil's goal, meaning former Hurricane
Dougie Hamilton.

Speaker 3 (37:11):
Hurricanes Wow Southwark? Oh yeah, Sam wu score there yeah
Sam predictions South.

Speaker 1 (37:21):
Fork sasquatch Devils eight gains zero. I want to have
a beer with that guy.

Speaker 5 (37:26):
Yeah right, well, like seriously, my gosh, yeah, but my my,
my stupid predictions one out one hundred times it actually
comes true.

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Yeah, true, Will I'll score ten one of these years. Yeah,
but nineteen three. You know, I'm going easy on the Canes.
I think nine is the most goals the Devils have
ever scored. I think they're one of like five teams
to never score double digits. I don't know that for
a fact. That's not true. That's not true. They have

(38:01):
a double digit game, I believe, So.

Speaker 3 (38:04):
I'm looking it up now.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
Fat Now we're fact checking, Vinny. You fact checked me
and my dates when I talk.

Speaker 1 (38:14):
About crazy stories. I knew that your story happened.

Speaker 3 (38:20):
Here we go. The Devils have the New Jersey Devils
scored ten goals in a game. The answer is no,
they have never scored ten goals in the game. Most
goals in game franchise history. October twenty eighth of two thousands,
Devils have nine goals.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Oh is that against the Pittsburgh Penguins when Randy McKay
and I think John Madden both had four goals.

Speaker 3 (38:47):
I'm trying to find out here, where's the score? Yeah
it was against Pittsburgh.

Speaker 4 (38:51):
Yeah, yeah, I remember this, Yeah, I remember right there.
That's there were.

Speaker 2 (38:58):
Let's see, you know, I remember that because I had
all the Pittsburgh. Oh my gosh, State had all the
Pittsburgh fans in my apartment and had a keg and
I remember that game and it was the entire time.

Speaker 3 (39:13):
I was just like, you know, did John Madden and
Randy McKay really both score four goals that day? Yeah?

Speaker 1 (39:21):
Don't?

Speaker 3 (39:21):
I actually don't.

Speaker 1 (39:23):
Don't you believe me? I was there. Well, at least
I remember too. MSG used to do a thing it
was like the top ten top ten regular and moments
in Devil's History or something like that, and that was on.

Speaker 3 (39:37):
It was so okay, okay, Sam, okay Sam? Who scored
the other goal? That wasn't John Madden and Randy McKay.

Speaker 1 (39:47):
I like to say Peter Sakora, but I really don't remember. Man.

Speaker 3 (39:53):
Would you like to take a guest?

Speaker 1 (39:54):
There?

Speaker 3 (39:54):
Vin the last goal?

Speaker 1 (39:57):
Like the one? None of the four?

Speaker 3 (39:59):
Well, yeah, so John, John Madden and Randy McKay both
had four.

Speaker 1 (40:06):
YEA, who would have been on the team. This is two.

Speaker 3 (40:09):
Thousand, Yeah, it's two thousands.

Speaker 1 (40:14):
On the team. Scott Gomez is on the team. Uh Mmm,
I'm just gonna go out on a limb Chinov and
guessed that it was Brelan.

Speaker 3 (40:28):
Nope, and Nope. The answer Turner Stevenson.

Speaker 4 (40:33):
I would have never, ever, ever, ever, I think I
could have guessed.

Speaker 1 (40:36):
I would have. I would have guessed there's that warbles. Yeah,
I would have guessed before I guess that turns. Guys.

Speaker 2 (40:45):
Wimpy is Colin Bravo Sierro ten to four win versus
the Caps in the regular season. Wimpy, Wimpy our fact
checker also eighty eight playoffs. Patrick Sunstrom went bonkers. He's
talking about that.

Speaker 1 (41:01):
Bonkers.

Speaker 2 (41:02):
We're gonna have to refact check that, because again, Ai lies,
Ai is I.

Speaker 1 (41:08):
Assume this is regular season two? Only where I saw
the nine goals was most.

Speaker 3 (41:13):
In Sammy, Sammy, I'm on statmus dot com. Man, I'm
looking at it.

Speaker 1 (41:20):
Fake news, Yeah, of course it is.

Speaker 3 (41:23):
Of course it's fake news.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
You know what I'm gonna I'm gonna rescind my my prediction.
I'm saying ten two devils.

Speaker 3 (41:32):
Now ten to two two, ten to two?

Speaker 2 (41:39):
All right, you want you want to fact check me
ten to two.

Speaker 1 (41:46):
I would like to be on New Jersey's payroll if
that actually happens.

Speaker 2 (41:50):
We got Madison and in turn Rob up, they turn
away the camera. Madison an inturn Rob at the game
that's representing the New Jersey Devils that little live look.

Speaker 1 (42:04):
In Wow and uh yeah, alright.

Speaker 3 (42:07):
So so what I'm looking at here? Also in the
year of two thousand, I bet that brings me back
to that old Uh what Conan O'Brian bed in year
two thousand? Uh, they also beat the Atlanta Thrashers nine nothing. Wow,

(42:30):
look at that. Oh and John Madden with a multiple
multi goal game again you know, Oh my, John Madden
had two goals that game. We had Patrick Eliasha one
Gomez it won them chein off with one, Brian Rafalski
had one, Scott Stevens had one, and then Stonehands J.

(42:51):
Pandolfo had two, and Mark tambro Door had and and
Mark Tambora Door had to make nineteen saves for the shutout.

Speaker 2 (43:02):
John John says, I say, Carolina twelve in New Jersey one. Now,
now the Carolina fans are getting into.

Speaker 3 (43:09):
Ah, John, You're not the only Carolina fan here in
the chat. We had what's his name that that was
up above you there that we read his score that
said go Hurricanes sportsman twenty seven eight. He's also one
of you kni acts two lame lame, Yeah, lame.

Speaker 2 (43:32):
Alrighty guys, I think we should get out of here.

Speaker 3 (43:35):
I think so too.

Speaker 1 (43:35):
We got a game to watch, yeah, I got a
game to watch. We do.

Speaker 3 (43:38):
I can't wait, unlus.

Speaker 2 (43:39):
We got Giants Eagles to watch in the middle. But
I just want to say that we're gonna have doubles
after dark after the game to recap the game that
was Scotty A Sure, SEXM, Liquid Metal and I. We'll
be talking more Devils Hockey and just remember the morning woo.
If I actually overslept today, I told I got up

(44:02):
at like five fifty something and missus WU woke me
up with like five.

Speaker 1 (44:06):
More minutes, five more minutes and then it's.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Like five minutes to go.

Speaker 2 (44:13):
So but there will be on morning WU. Maybe a
little bit late, but who knows. But I wanna thank
you guys.

Speaker 1 (44:22):
We're back. It's been a pleasure. It's just like old times.

Speaker 2 (44:28):
Also, I want to thank all the fans tuning in again.
There's other you know, other places that are doing this.
I think it's great. More Devil's coverage the better. But
if you want to uh have a little fun, you
know where to have it. It's the let's go Devil's Podcast.

(44:50):
Nobody has more fun than we do. You know, nobody
comments like our fans, like our fans. We're the most
commented Devil podcasts in the history of New Jersey Devil's Podcast.

Speaker 1 (45:02):
I'll take that to the bank.

Speaker 3 (45:05):
And we're downloaded over one million times.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Sam, Yeah, I don't know how we got there, but
we got there and we're continuing strong.

Speaker 3 (45:17):
Yep, because we are the fun.

(45:44):
pucks and pitchforks dot com as well, and uh, Vinnie
Precy if you want to learn a little bit more
about the Blackhawks on the hockey news as well. And
uh yeah, alrighty we'll see after the game that was
after dark until next time.
