Speaker 2 (00:51):
As Nick Blana and I are in the primetime radio
studios in the North and South Jersey Bunkers.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
The dog days of summer. Hello Max.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
I met up with Max up in New England this
past week. It was good seeing him. We went to
Fenway Park.
Speaker 1 (01:13):
Nick, what's that? I had some lap stuff?
Speaker 3 (01:23):
Oh is it's it's a terrible Boston accent. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Well, I actually got cut off from the lobster roll
one night and uh but I made up for it
the next day, like.
Speaker 4 (01:37):
You ate too many lapster roles and they said, no
more labster rolls for you.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Missus.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Wu was a little concerned about my consumption of all
that uh seafood. She said, you're no longer on a
seafood and eat a diet. Oh so she cut me off, Okay,
cut me off.
Speaker 3 (01:58):
Okay, Well yeah, yeah, you never know, you never know.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
Seafood is always kind of a roll the dice. I actually,
I don't know if you know this, Sam. I used
to work at a very nice seafood restaurant just outside
of the you know where Island Beach State Park is. Yes, okay,
so there's a seafood restaurant right outside of it. It's
(02:24):
like a bait and it's like seafood like fish shop,
and then above it is like a seafood restaurant with
like there's there's some two hundred dollars plates in there.
Speaker 3 (02:35):
So we're talking a pretty pretty fancy place. So I
saw some of like the you know, the best seafood
coming in.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
And you know this guy, the co owner, the husband,
you know, I believe he would go out and catch
his own stuff where he had he would get stuff off.
Speaker 3 (02:53):
The boat and then sell it. It was a it
was a really fancy place.
Speaker 4 (02:56):
But you know when even at two play, you're uh,
you're really looking at you're still taking the chance.
Speaker 3 (03:10):
There that the seafood is good. You know, you just
can't you can never know.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
It's unlike meat, where you know, for the most part,
you just have to keep restaurants standards high and cook thoroughly.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
You know, we're talking about seafood.
Speaker 4 (03:26):
It just it's you know, it could be fresh and
you're still getting sick.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
So I get it. I get missus Woo's concerns.
Speaker 2 (03:36):
Okay, I just go by Google reviews and and viral videos.
That's how I pick my restaurants to eat my lobster rolls.
That's what I do, and I'll stick to it.
Speaker 3 (03:51):
They haven't stayed you wrong yet.
Speaker 1 (03:53):
No, not not at all, not at all.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I mean I I mean, look, I'm not gonna you
I can have a lobster roll every day. You know,
some people like ice cream, and they can have ice
cream for breakfast every day. I can have a lobster
roll for breakfast every day. Will not bother me. It
sounds disgusting, but that's how much I love lobster.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
I'm trying to think that my wife is probably the
same one. My wife loves lobster roles.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
I'm trying to think if there's anything that I would
eat for break pizza, probably.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
Yeah, pizza. I mean, that's that's the normal staple.
Speaker 4 (04:29):
The standard, right, Yeah, you know cold pizza. Yeah, I
love I love. You know what, I'm weird. I love
microwaved pizza. I don't know, it's the weird thing about me.
Speaker 1 (04:41):
Really.
Speaker 3 (04:43):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:44):
You know what's good?
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Taking Costco pizza okay because cheap. Yeah, it's cheap, affordable.
Take it home and freeze it. It's more cost efficient
and tastes better than frozen pizza from I think you
(05:07):
could buy their pizza frozen. Yeah, I'm sure you can.
But that's that's that's that's what, that's what we do.
You know, you got a pinch, you put it in
a toast, driving and you're you're all good.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Sam.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
There has been times where you're waiting for pay day
and I've been like, I'm just gonna go to Costco
and and get the samples.
Speaker 1 (05:28):
I am guilty of that, especially mid day. If you're.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
Available mid day, the samples come out, and I have
no shame. I will make five laps around the sample
that I like the most, or I'll make up a story.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
Oh uh, my wife is down there.
Speaker 2 (05:51):
I'm gonna get one for her if that's okay, and
I'll take two, maybe three.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
I'll try to do a lap.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
If it's a premium sample, like give it like or
I'll I'll wait till the next go around, you know,
with the hot samples, I will, I will say. Somebody
tried to cut me in line and I had my
child with me, and I was like, it's for him,
and they promptly went behind me and he got one
as well. But uh, you know, dad, daddy got got his.
(06:19):
So but yeah, no, the the people are savages when
it comes to the premium samples, the hot samples, and
I have no shade making you feel very small about
yourself cutting off a child to get your free food.
But anyway, none of this has to do with Devil's Hockey, Sam,
we have a lot to talk about.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, we're making small talk as people are filing in
the live chat room. That's that's it's too small.
Speaker 4 (06:45):
Just like our talk has been too small, the ranking
for Jack Hughes has been too small. Uh just just
I think it's like an hour before the podcast came out,
we already have an article up on Puckspittricks Dot by
new writer Damien. Jack Hughes was ranked outside the top
(07:05):
ten centers. Sam, I I mean that ranking had flaws
all over the place. I will say I appreciate that
Niko Heisher got at fourteen, but Jack Hughes is the
top ten sident give I go away with this. The
best ability is availability crap. I get it on the surface,
but we're talking about rankings ahead of the season and
(07:27):
he's available right now. So again I I and I
continue to say this, Sam, that injury last year was
a fluke, and it stinks because I don't know what
it's going to lead to. But if if Austin Matthews
(07:50):
took that hit, he would he would have the same injury.
Speaker 3 (07:53):
If Connor McDavid took that type of a fall.
Speaker 4 (07:56):
And that hit from behind, that a very illegal tripping,
he would be injured. You know it's not last year
wasn't a Jack Hughes. Probably it was just a it
was a bad circumstance because it was the same shoulder
that he hurt in twenty twenty four. And you know
it's that part I get, being like I have to
(08:19):
make sure that there's no repercussions from this, but the
whole like well can't stay healthy. I get the argument
on the surface, but like the nuance of it is
so much more than that, Like he showed no signs
of injury at all last year up until that play,
(08:41):
and was playing at a phenomenal level, like out of
his gorg I don't think he played well at the
Four Nations. You know, the best on best. I think
there was a little bit of a I don't know
if it was culture, I don't know what it was.
He just didn't look like himself, but everything else like
he was the Devil Star. He was driving offense, he
was leading the best power play in the league for
(09:03):
most of the season, and then you know, Jack Ico
went and tripped them.
Speaker 2 (09:10):
Kelly unfortunate because after that Four Nations he was on
a different level. He was on a different speed coming
out of that break because he had played in that
Four Nations. I think Jack Hughes, that experience he got
from Four Nations is gonna be good for him and
(09:31):
the New Jersey Devils. Unfortunately he got hurt on that
play against Vegas. We did not get to see that
Jack Hughes because he was actually on another level, maybe
one of two steps ahead, like he was fast. Because
that that tournament, especially that final game they were that
(09:55):
was like probably the best hockey I've ever seen.
Speaker 1 (09:59):
In my life.
Speaker 4 (10:01):
Yeah, yeah, no, they both The Canada US games were
just incredible.
Speaker 3 (10:08):
But here's the thing.
Speaker 4 (10:11):
I liked, and it was probably gonna be a terrible analogy,
but I love Jack used the chip on his shoulder.
I think when he is doubted is when he's at
his best. And I think that's why you saw the
best of him coming out of that tournament, because so
many people are like, oh, this guy's not gonna make
(10:33):
the Olympic team.
Speaker 3 (10:34):
He shouldn't be, he's not one of the best American players, and.
Speaker 4 (10:37):
He's like, okay, bet and just was destroying people like
you said, And honestly that that mindset is is a
little bit of what got him hurt because he was
trying to get into the play and then Jack Ickel,
you know, he.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
Stopped in a dime.
Speaker 4 (10:50):
Jack Eichel didn't and you know, hurt him. But I
and here here's here's what Here's what frustrates me is
I end up making I have to like argue both
sides because I do think Jack Hughes is to prove
he is he stay healthy. I am frustrated that he's
(11:10):
really only had two fully healthy seasons under his belt.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Like it does that doesn't annoy me. And one of
them was a fifty six game season.
Speaker 4 (11:19):
You know, I am frustrated by that, But I can't
say that because we got doomers on the on the
twitter sphere who will say the most insane things. There's
a contingent that wants to trade them for futures. We
have no centers and we want to trade Jack Hughes
(11:40):
for futures.
Speaker 1 (11:42):
I'm done rebuilding.
Speaker 3 (11:45):
Like that like that that that's what they don't think
it's a rebuild, like they're like, it's.
Speaker 4 (11:53):
Jack Hughes's the top ten center. He's better than Suzuki
by a lot. Nick Zuki is so vastly overrated.
Speaker 3 (11:59):
We need to like.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
I I think that Suzuki is a good player. I
think he's a good player. That's it. Like he got
eighty nine points last year, which good for you. You
had your your first ever point per game season. Everything
went right for him. You're going to if you're a
(12:25):
Canadians fan, I think you should be a static.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
For having Suzuki. He came over in the was it
the what trade was it with Vegas?
Speaker 1 (12:35):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Pass? You already? Right, Max pass already?
Speaker 4 (12:39):
I believe that's that's the trade that brought Suzuki over
great pickup. He's you know, I think he'd be a
great Niko Heasher type center, like a one B. If
they could get you know, their one A center, then
I think ve Drio's really cook it. Montreal is flying
(12:59):
high this offseason thinking that they're a Stanley Cup contender.
I just don't see it. I will outright say that
I was wrong about Lane Hudson. He's a really really
good defenseman, especially on the offensive side. I will say
that I like the acquisition of no Adobson. I don't
know if he's a ten million dollar defenseman, but I
(13:20):
like the acquisition. I don't know if Dougie Hamilton's a
nine million dollar defenseman.
Speaker 3 (13:24):
So you know, you pay for the guy when you
need the guy.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
But do I think that Nick Szuzuki is a top
ten I don't, at least not better than Jack Hughes.
And then Mark Shifley is the other guy ahead of him,
and I just look at it him just.
Speaker 3 (13:42):
What is there any general.
Speaker 4 (13:44):
Manager in the National Hockey League that if they had
Nick Zuzuki or Mark Shiflee that they wouldn't trade them
straight up for Jack Us? Is there anyone I think
all thirty two GMS would replace Scheiflee or Suzuki with
Jack Ques like that, even with the injury history, even
with all that comes with Jack Hughes. I think one
(14:07):
hundred of the GMS with trade Suzuki or Shifley for
Jack Hughes today.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
Straight up, straight up, straight up. I don't agree with
that sessment. Normally, I don't agree with you.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Nick.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
We're on a roll right now. I think we have
some common ground on something.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
But listen, we're killing it. I kind of want to see.
I'll be completely honest. Uh, Toronto should be just as
bad as we are because they ranked Austin Matthews seventh,
which like, I'm sorry, but like, what are we doing?
(14:54):
This is like, just stop doing these lists just to
make people mad. You look like idiots. So here's here's
the list. It's McDavid one, McKinnon two, Dry, Sidle three,
Barkow four, Crosby five, Eichel six, Matthew seven point eight,
Stifley nine.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
Suzuki ten.
Speaker 4 (15:17):
I would have Hughes eighth, but I I wouldn't lose.
Speaker 3 (15:22):
My mind if you had bradon point ahead of him.
Speaker 4 (15:25):
It's kind of where I'm at. I think Braden Points
a great player as well, so eighth or ninth. I
think it's where Jack Hughes should be right now. And
again maybe people were saying, like, why are you getting
so mandy It was eleventh, you think you should be eighth,
Like that's insane to get this man.
Speaker 3 (15:39):
No, Like you're sending a message when you put a
guy in the outside of the top ten. Like the
graphics come in tens.
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Jack Hughes is not on this graphic because it comes
in ten, Like you send a message when you put
a guy in the top ten. The rest of the
list is Hughes at eleven, Robert Thomas at twelve, Sebastianaha
at thirteen, Niko Heascher four teen, Dan Larkin fifteen, Tim
Stuttel sixteen, Rupe Hints seventeen, Tah Thompson eighteen, Maclin celebrating nineteen, Sam.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
Ben at twenty.
Speaker 4 (16:08):
Now, the Stutzel contingent, uh is gonna be mad because
we had a list two weeks ago that said Stutzel
was a better player than Hughes. Like it's the people want,
Like they've just been saying that Jack Hughes has been
great for so long, and then he turned out to
be great, and that's not interesting. So we gotta get
(16:32):
a click baity up in here. We gotta throw out
some haymakers just to do some Stephen A. Smith crash
and listen, like we get mad at this NHL Network
list every single year. We were praising them last week
because of how they ranked Jasper Bratt. But you know what,
(16:57):
they wanted me angry. They got me angry, and I'm angry.
So congratulations, you got the reaction you wanted. You guess
let me and now I'm on fire. Now I got
I got. My mentions are a mess, sam My mentions
are a mess. It's August. My mentions should be a mess.
Yet we should be clean. And my mentions but with
(17:19):
with Luke hes not signed yet? Would we haven't even
talked about yet, and and and there's ranking.
Speaker 3 (17:25):
We're a mess.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
They won't announce that till preseason.
Speaker 3 (17:31):
You know the death.
Speaker 2 (17:34):
They like to They like to mess with our heads.
By the way, I'm still working on my.
Speaker 1 (17:41):
Jersey jersey plot jersey jersey.
Speaker 2 (17:44):
So when I have it ordered, just like the John
Marino jersey, I have it ordered and custom made that
with with non refundable. By the way, that once I
get that pilot Jersey, they're gonna say, oh, plots traded
and we're not bringing back the Jersey jersey.
Speaker 1 (18:14):
You know there's a movie.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
I think it's I think it's a strange thing to
waste your money on, But you do, you bro.
Speaker 1 (18:22):
Believe me.
Speaker 2 (18:23):
I don't want to waste my money, but I know,
I know short Sky has been pricing it out for me.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
Well, I mean, I wonder if you get one cheaper on.
Let me see if there's.
Speaker 1 (18:38):
No, no, no, no, don't don't. Don't say it because I
found a cheap place.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
And if you say it out loud, then someone's gonna
take it and then I'm out of luck.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
You can talk to me off air about it.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
Do you do you think there's a what percentage possibility?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
Do you think that Pillot's traded before the season starts,
traded or bought out or all the above.
Speaker 3 (19:09):
He can't be bought out, he can't.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
No, I would give it a seventy percent seventy five
percent chance.
Speaker 3 (19:18):
I think it's seventy five percent chance he gets traded,
or that he's on the roster.
Speaker 1 (19:23):
That he gets traded.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Are you like, do you have Fitz's number or something
like what's going on here?
Speaker 2 (19:31):
No, I mean I have Fitz's number, but I got
a gut and I got a gut feeling all these
things because when I buy that jersey.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
He's gonna be gone. I know it. Seventy up to
seventy five percent chance.
Speaker 3 (19:47):
Seventy five, that's all right. Do you know what I
think it is before opening night? Do you know what
I think it is?
Speaker 1 (19:53):
What?
Speaker 3 (19:54):
Ten?
Speaker 2 (19:55):
Ten?
Speaker 4 (19:56):
I think for ten percent chance he's traded ten I
think they export all avenues. I think I would put
seventy five percent chance that he's traded before the playoffs,
before the trade deadline. But I think he's on the
opening night roster.
Speaker 3 (20:18):
I think.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Here's what I think is gonna happen, Sam, I think
the Devils have made serious movement. Well, here's what I think.
One of two things is gonna happen. Either the Devils
already have a big contract for Luke Cus in place,
but they want to do their last possible cap cir
(20:42):
convention BS, so they're gonna sign him for one year
and then give him an eight year deal on top
of it in January or February that pays him the
nine million, but the one year deal will be for
like five or they're just gonna give them the eight
year deal. It's gonna be for nine million dollars and
(21:04):
they're gonna put COVID Savitch on LTR. I don't think
we see Covid Savage till the earliest January. I think
you could stretch it until March, and then that's when
you deal with the pilot thing, or.
Speaker 3 (21:21):
The mercer thing, or the Hamilton thing, whatever you need
to make it work. I think they trade a lot.
Speaker 4 (21:27):
But before opening night, I just think they've addressed all
those avenues, and teams just didn't seem at all interested
in spending.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Up to the cap.
Speaker 4 (21:41):
Which I'm curious how the players feel about that, because
the whole point of the salary cap is you want
seventy percent of them to spend to it.
Speaker 3 (21:58):
Right, That's that's the ideal situation. Right now?
Speaker 4 (22:10):
Nine teams take count that right. Eight teams have more
than ten million dollars in cap space, and two more
have nine or more million dollars in cap space. And
these aren't like bad teams. Sam, this is Carolina, this
(22:31):
is Columbus. This is the ani who said they wanted
to compete for the playoffs, and I missed twenty million
dollars in cap space. This is Minnesota, this is Detroit
who said that they wanted to compete. Detroit has twelve
million dollars in cap space, you know, and there's a
bunch of teams with five and six million to the
(22:52):
Devils have six million. So that's going to go away
with the Luke Hues contract, and I you know.
Speaker 3 (22:58):
I know there's a couple other RFAs.
Speaker 4 (23:00):
I know, you know, maybe the Minnesota is probably gonna
fall down because they got Rossy.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
It's an RFA.
Speaker 4 (23:08):
The Ducks have McTavish, right, I think he's an RFA,
But I don't think that's going to be as impactful
as some believe. I don't think it's gonna it's gonna
be dropping a leader for them. But you know, I'm
looking at this and that's that's a lot of cap
space that's not being used. And you get it for
the Sharks, right, the Sharks want flexibility to trade for
(23:29):
a guy like Palot and maybe get an asset back
or or you know, one of the many.
Speaker 3 (23:35):
Terrible contracts that are out there. So I'm curious.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
How the players feel about so much unused cap space
and all these guys like you know, once we saw
the Eric Holla trade, we saw Hollo traded and the
Devil's got a positive asset back. I truly thought, and
I think I said this on this podcast. I thought
Pilot was gonna get us like a second round pick.
And it was wrong, true, flat out wrong. It was
flat out wrong. But I will say, if he comes
(24:10):
out and scores ten goals in October November, I would
be like, well, this guy five goals a month.
Speaker 3 (24:19):
Do you think of that? Six million dollars?
Speaker 4 (24:21):
Not bad for a guy who's on pace for whatever
twenty five thirty goals.
Speaker 1 (24:25):
Then you try to trade him immediately.
Speaker 4 (24:28):
Yeah, somebody take the Hey, listen, you need this guy
top six forower right here, Stanley cup pedigree, he's two rings.
Speaker 3 (24:35):
You can't buy two rings, but you can today, you know.
So I I do think he's going to get traded.
I think there's going to be a moment.
Speaker 4 (24:44):
And we were talking about this, you know, friend of
the podcast, hed A Toturo, he he always likes to
take the.
Speaker 3 (24:56):
How do I say this? He likes to be the.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Other side for like things you wouldn't expect so he's
arguing that a lot can be good this year, or
should be better. I guess, at least because some of
his underlyings, his analytics, the ones that you love, some
of those analytics say that he was unlucky.
Speaker 3 (25:21):
I guess is kind of the argument. But my argument
is that.
Speaker 4 (25:28):
He lost everything with that groin injury in twenty twenty two.
He just he lost. It's not so much straight line speed,
but he can't pivot. He can't get to where he needs.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
To get to.
Speaker 4 (25:46):
His brain always tells him to go into the right position.
He is still one of the smarter hockey players on
this team, but his body does not have the ability
that it thinks it does. So his brain is telling
him the wrong thing because it's not compensating for the
drop it ability of a thirty four year old man.
Speaker 3 (26:04):
With a groin history. So if miraculously the.
Speaker 4 (26:11):
Groin, you know, if he gets a little bit more elasticity,
if he gets a little bit more agility back, I
guess maybe, But like I just.
Speaker 3 (26:20):
Don't see it. We've never seen in New Jersey.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
You know, he was really good in that Ranger series
two years ago, and we'll always have that.
Speaker 3 (26:32):
I'll always charre to that series. The series is one
of my favorite series that I ever watched. His Devil's Fan.
Speaker 4 (26:42):
But but you can only hold onto those moments for
so long. It's been two years, and he's just been
truly dridful the past two years. And what is There's
two years left in this contract. So I think a
team will be less worried about, like it's this weird
psychology that like, I'd rather have it for a year
(27:02):
and a half than two full years.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
I think a team will take it on. They might
get a positive asking for not much. Like so we're
talking about like a fourth or fifth or sixth.
Speaker 4 (27:12):
Round pick, and I think that's fine because the cap
space is the asset. I'd even like Sam, I'd even
for if you if somebody gave us a fourth round pick,
I would take a million dollars of it. Make it
a five million dollar deal, Like that's the type you
know you could you can make that work for a year.
(27:34):
That's about all I take, though I wouldn't take two.
I would take a million. But I uh, I think
it's there. I think I think you can make.
Speaker 3 (27:44):
That work for a trade.
Speaker 4 (27:46):
I just don't like I'm telling you, I think it's
ten percent that it happens before the season. Not impossible,
but very unlikely.
Speaker 2 (27:55):
Mm hmm, well those are my thoughts. Would you congratulate
me if plant was traded?
Speaker 3 (28:12):
Oh yeah, I'll buy a beer of course, the beer
is there?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
Oh my goodness.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Yeah, because because you know we're gonna have an exciting
time for opening night. Oh, Sam, I was told I've
been cleared for the uh the wedding podcast.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
Really, so.
Speaker 3 (28:46):
I'm ready bring an.
Speaker 1 (28:47):
Extra mic, I will.
Speaker 2 (28:51):
It will be fantastic as the podcast is now open
to your cocktail hour. Yeah, yes, we are for sale
your cocktail hour at your wedding bar bot Mitzvah's sweet sixteen,
college graduation, high school graduation, or just for the.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Heck of it.
Speaker 3 (29:17):
Sam, I just got a great idea.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
What's up.
Speaker 3 (29:20):
You know how you used to do the football calls?
Speaker 1 (29:23):
Yeah?
Speaker 4 (29:24):
I think you should take viral wedding videos and do
wedding calls, do play by play for viral wedding moments,
and then offer that offer the podcast up for that,
we will do a play by playing color commentary of
your wedding.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
So for like, for example, like winning Vinnie's wedding right
when they go should we do a live live.
Speaker 4 (29:53):
But listen, I'm just saying, like, you know, it's like, oh,
and now here comes Uncle Tony. He's on his six
whiskey and co. And he's talking to cousin Susie, who's
about twenty five years his junior, and he's trying to
figure out what TikTok is?
Speaker 3 (30:11):
What is the toc tic TikTok?
Speaker 4 (30:13):
And the conversation's not going over Tony, so he's gonna
try to do a little dance move to something that
he has no idea what the words are.
Speaker 3 (30:22):
I believe this is the mumbo wrap. Sam.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Oh, and now here comes the wedding cake. The bride
and groom were at the cake.
Speaker 1 (30:37):
The knife comes out. Oh it's good the cake.
Speaker 5 (30:43):
Benny's face, yeah, Oh, Bitty is.
Speaker 3 (30:48):
Back, he's looking he's looking at all right in the nose.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Oh no.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
The bride looks angry, but the crowd goes wild. We
definitely have a winning toss right there of the cake, Sam.
Speaker 2 (31:02):
And the electric slide celebration begins as the cakes being
tossed around. The wedding brought to you by But Let's
go Devil's Podcast.
Speaker 1 (31:14):
See you can have this at your wedding.
Speaker 3 (31:17):
This is a great stuff.
Speaker 4 (31:18):
Oh yeah, I can imagine doing a play by play
of the garter and the and the bouquetoss.
Speaker 1 (31:25):
Oh, we can absolutely do that.
Speaker 3 (31:29):
I just think it's it. This is this.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
I think there are not many more million dollar ideas
left out there, but I think we got one on
our hands.
Speaker 3 (31:37):
Sam.
Speaker 2 (31:38):
All the single ladies and the shotgun, shotgun formation, the
garter snap.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
It's gone. It's good. It's good like that.
Speaker 4 (31:51):
And and here's the thing, Sam, because we got the
post production as well. So if you send us, you
don't even have to pay us to be there. Send
us your wedding video and we'll give you a second version.
It's our play by play color commentary of your wedding video.
I listen, I think I've just come up with the
(32:15):
way to become a millionaire for the Lexco Devils podcast.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
And this is it.
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Yeah, you know what, these are great ideas. I'm going
to take you into consideration. You know, even you know,
you know in football, there's that uh block kick, you
know what happens, you know at the altar when it's
asked if anybody had any reservations of these two getting married,
(32:42):
that could be a call that could be a shocking call,
football call made as well.
Speaker 3 (32:49):
The priest has asked, yes, anybody up checks.
Speaker 4 (32:54):
We're looking at Johnny, her ex boyfriend who inexplicably got
an invite. The wildcard here Sam, this Billy, Billy wasn't
invited to the wedding. Now we're trying to figure out
why is here? Is this the moment? Is this his moment?
The pressure's on? Will he stand up? He's moving, he's grooving,
(33:16):
he's up his hands up, he's ruining the wedding. Jenny
is crying, Billy and Drake or fighting it out. There
is pandemonium in the aisle, and was that there was
the spear spear in the aisle?
Speaker 2 (33:39):
Or or if we get a sponsorship from Town Toyota
in a beautiful Ledgwood, New Jersey where David Decker is
selling Toyota's at a hot rate. Right now, let's go
to all those podcast fans are calling David Decker up
right now.
Speaker 1 (33:54):
I've got proof of that as well.
Speaker 2 (33:56):
That maybe we could do a football call when you
signed your Toyota deal with David Decker, a Town Toyota,
beautiful ledge with New Jersey off of.
Speaker 5 (34:06):
Root forty six, he could sign oh way, touchdown or.
Speaker 2 (34:18):
When you get you know, when you get down to
the negotiations and you know, sometimes you got the number
you want and then you said, put in a free
oil change, oil change, oil change, and then boom, David
Decker gets it done.
Speaker 4 (34:36):
Listen, you need like that tense music too. We'll bring
we'll bring some production value, bring that tense music that.
Speaker 1 (34:42):
Oh I've got tense music.
Speaker 3 (34:44):
You got that? Who wants to be a millionaire music?
Speaker 2 (34:47):
I don't have that, but let's say, you know, just
for fun. We're gonna be closing out the podcast soon,
but just for fun. I mean, I've got the Lonely Man,
Incredible Hulk, I got that music. I got I got
the Bugle Call. Yeah, I've got Unsolved Mysteries. You ever
(35:07):
you ever hear that one?
Speaker 3 (35:09):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (35:09):
Yeah, yeah, I got that one. But I'm thinking, do
you know what I'm talking about with that? That tense
who wants to be all in their music?
Speaker 1 (35:16):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, I know what you're talking about.
Speaker 3 (35:18):
I feel like, like, is that is that?
Speaker 1 (35:19):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (35:21):
Fair? Use?
Speaker 2 (35:21):
At this point, it's been twenty years. You know what,
It's the Internet. Everything is fair used to get the
systems desist.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
Yeah, yeah, listen to this podcast has been stolen before,
so you know, oh totally.
Speaker 1 (35:35):
People steal our stuff all the time.
Speaker 4 (35:38):
All right, So Sam, I'm ready for plugs. Yeah that
we've where this train is off the rails. We're we're
driving through the city at this point.
Speaker 1 (35:46):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
All right, So pucks and pitchforks dot com. Uh, I
uh have so much I have You're gonna see probably
twenty yard between now and our next podcast.
Speaker 3 (36:03):
I'm gonna be a writing machine, have so much talk about.
Speaker 4 (36:05):
It's records week at fan Sided, and I'm gonna be
writing writing about ten records you had no idea former
and current Devil's whole I'm not even I'm not talking
about franchise records. I'm gonna be honest all about the
Jersey beat me to that one. So I have to
wait to wreck that one because they they kind of
(36:27):
I don't want them thinking that I'm stealing their stuff.
So we're gonna put that one out in September. But
as far as records go, we're gonna write about ten
records that you didn't know that Devil's held, and and
they're interesting records, and we're gonna have some other Records
Week articles coming out. We're gonna have so much to
(36:51):
talk about about this, Jack Hughes saying, I think we're
gonna have multiple articles coming out.
Speaker 3 (36:55):
Uh Vinnie.
Speaker 4 (36:56):
Speaking of Vinnie, he's back and writing for Bucks Patrick.
He's gonna write about the path forward for Jack Hughes,
Luke Hues and Brett Peschi when it comes to making
the US Olympic team. You know, their path to make
the USA Olympic team, which is interesting. You gotta remember that,
you know, Brett Pesche made the preliminary roster and Lane
(37:18):
Hudson didn't, sort of Luke Cues saying, and you know
we I just put up an article talking about why
I think that that one year and then eight year
contract option is now feasible even with the new cb
A that dumb puspatricks dot com. Right now, I told you, Damien,
just write a piece on the Jack Hughes ranking. Will
(37:42):
have plenty more about the ranking information. We're gonna have
a newser about that. John Bailey just wrote about Tys Thompson,
who signed the KHL just kind of like a story
of a guy who and there's too many of them,
you know, Riley Watsher's We didn't even get to write
about him, but where he watched another guy high hopes,
looked like he was gonna be a really good player,
(38:04):
flamed out pretty quickly and is down in the KHL.
You know, it's happened to a couple of Devil's high
quality draft picks.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
So, but there's.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Endless articles on Puck's pictures that we're gonna have new
stuff every single day. Like I said, my guarantee to
you between now and next Wednesday, including next Wednesday. You
can give me next Wednesday as well, twenty articles. That's
that's my pledge.
Speaker 1 (38:33):
Sam, Wow.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Wow, And I'll be at puckso pitchforks dot com to
count each article.
Speaker 3 (38:41):
Yeah, do it?
Speaker 1 (38:45):
All right, Well, we're gonna get out of here.
Speaker 2 (38:47):
