Speaker 4 (01:45):
This is the Morning Woo, Happy Devils Sunday, and this
glorious October fifth, twenty twenty five the meat and voyage
of the Morning Woo Morning Programming for your Devil's needs.
(02:10):
And we're gonna talk about a lot of shenanigans, a
lot of Devil's hockey, a lot of shenanigans around.
Speaker 5 (02:19):
The world, the sports world, current events, whatnot in the morning.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
And I want to thank all those tuning in on
the YouTube live x live, Facebook live.
Speaker 5 (02:39):
Twitch.
Speaker 4 (02:40):
I'm the Let's Go Devil's Network, coming to you live
live from the primetime radio studios. I'm your Sam Wu.
It's gonna be a little bit different from the Woo Report.
It's gonna be a little bit of a fun podcast.
We're gonna have good guess. I don't know if we're
gonna get them in the morning, Babe, we'll pre record it,
(03:00):
but this is the morning WU. So to all those
that are filing in in the chat rooms right now
and all get your morning WU hold it up high
your cups, whatever you're drinking, let's all cheers to have
(03:20):
a sip to this glorious day. All right, now we
can begin Devil's losing last night or actually yesterday afternoon
preseason match at the Wells.
Speaker 5 (03:35):
I don't even know what they call it. What are
they call them? Now?
Speaker 4 (03:37):
Max helped me out. Is that no longer Wells Fargo Center.
It's called the Something in Philadelphia. They played the Flyers
last night or yesterday afternoon, losing in a shootout again
Flyers starters versus the Devil's farm team. I'm not gonna
(04:00):
read too much into it, but there's a little bit
of just just a tiny bit of concern. I know
it's preseason. It'sfinity Mobile Center, right yeah, okay, Infinity Mobile Center.
Thank you, Max, thank you, I'm sorry, Selective boy, thank you,
thank you. For the for the help, but I just
don't like giving up beads late in the third period.
(04:26):
Jake Allen was playing very well in that game against
the Flyers.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Just a little.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
Concerned about it, just a little bit concern about it.
Ball is good right now in Deuvile's land right now,
because well, you signed Luke Hughes. You've got Luke Hughes
seven years, nine million dollars aa V. Doesn't that Don't
(05:01):
you feel secure right now as a Devils fan, that
security that you got both Hughes brothers locked up for
a while, with the possibility of the third one, Quinn coming.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
Possibly in the near future.
Speaker 4 (05:20):
By the way, for those that know, anytime I buy
a hockey jersey.
Speaker 5 (05:27):
Or any jersey.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
And I get customized to the player I want, that
players usually either retires, traded, injured, is non relevant. I
have my Fanatics jersey. I'm gonna make that call very
soon they get Pillotte's name on the back of that jersey,
(05:54):
because I know a lot of you fans have been
requesting it all during the offseason, during the summer. No,
you gotta get Lodger, we gotta get rid of them.
Speaker 5 (06:10):
Well, someone did get.
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Off the team via trade, and that's Curtis McDermott going
to the Autawa Senators for mcgolwaan. Devil's get a pretty
decent face off guy. I like the trade a lot.
Devil save five hundred thousand dollars on the cap. We'll
discuss more about the cap situation on the Sunday podcast
(06:39):
at nine pm Eastern. The Let's Go Devil's Podcast Sunday
edition again at nine pm Eastern, we'll go on more
depth of you know, the cap situation, but I like
the move. Sure do I want more beef in the lineup,
but you know what Curtis McDermott yardly plays. I think
(07:01):
the Devil's bottom six is looking pretty decent right now.
I think this is probably one of the most I
don't want to say a deep team, but it seems
like it's got that balance all round. Let's start off
with the goaltenders, Mark Strom Allan. If they can play
(07:22):
the way they did last season, barring any injuries, it
could be a second year in a row for Tom
Fitzgerald that he doesn't have to worry about.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
Goaltenders.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Nico Dawes kind of shaky this preseason, but can't be
worried about that. You got your two goaltender tandems in
Mark Strom and Allen veteran leaders on defense Brendan Dillon.
Speaker 5 (07:54):
We revealed this on the State.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Of the Fan address presented by Pucksinpitchforks dot com. If
you haven't got to Pucks Pucks and Pitchforks dot com,
you gotta go. You gotta go because they're putting out
articles at a rate that you want more Devil's coverage
that they got it for you right as the season
is upon us.
Speaker 5 (08:17):
I love that site. I know I'm a little biased.
Speaker 4 (08:21):
But on the stated Fan Address Brendan Dillon, which surprisingly
had that next surgery that Jack Eichael the Vegas Golden
Knights had, You didn't have it with a Buffalo Sabers
because there was that whole controversy of which kind of
medical procedure that he would get. In fairness to the
(08:44):
Buffalo Sabers, they wanted to go to the safe route,
but Jack Michael wanted this surgery to get back quicker
and perform, and he had Brendan Dillon back with the
New Jersey Devils. You look at Brett Peshi Big signing
(09:07):
a last offseason Dougie Hamilton. Will he be on the
team with the Caps situation, I think he would be
Luke Hughes signing that long term deal. Shaman's casey. Unfortunately,
he's gonna be out for a while. Simon Nevitch, you
had that one screw up there against the New York Rangers,
(09:30):
but he'll learn. Having a great playoff series against the
Carolina Hurricanes, especially scoring that overtime game winning goal. Devila's
defense looks pretty good. It's pretty balanced. What do I
mean by balance. They've got grit, They've got mobility, they
(09:52):
got a little toughness, and they got experience, and they
got some young players.
Speaker 5 (09:59):
Balance. It's kind of like dieting. You want to have
a balanced diet.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Uh super Nova sixty eight. Can we talk about the
three pass schster turd turd? Can he's trolling there in
the YouTube live? We can, But let me get through
what I needed to say. The forwards top six, if
(10:29):
you have a healthy Jack Ques, and that's a big
if just for Brat's been consistent, but he needs to
do a little bit more when it comes to playoff
time down the stretch. Timo Meyer, I think he's on
a good role right now in the past year and
(10:50):
a half, getting some of that world experience. Ted's asking, really, Sam,
please explain. I think the top six is gonna be okay.
The one question mark about is a lot. Paul Connor
(11:10):
on the bottom six looking pretty good, but as we
know last season he was a little inconsistent. Can he
bring that speed? Can he bring that grit toughness like
Miles Wood did years ago.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
We need a little bit of.
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Craziness on the bottom six. Cody Glass is back signed
Connor Brown, you got that Stanley Cup playoff experience.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (11:43):
Ted was referring to that balanced diet. I thought he
was talking about hockey. But anyway, Yeah, well that's what
the doctor's tell me. But you know, I'm pretty uh befolytics,
if you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (11:57):
Max is super.
Speaker 4 (11:57):
Excited about Grit Sick. Yes again, I'm excited about Gritzik.
I know I've trashed him a little bit. Still not
sold on some of these players, but I'm an ajo
kind of getting excited about this guy can come out
of left field at some point.
Speaker 5 (12:20):
Love these players.
Speaker 4 (12:21):
Stefan Nason is supposed to come back at some point,
but I think the third and fourth line could be special.
Speaker 5 (12:30):
This season.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
I hope it's not just a bunch of average players
taking up time and space. They have to be impactful.
There's gonna be competition, and competition is good in the
bottom six. You want playing time. You got impressed. You
got impressed Sheldon Keith and the staff, and that's the
bottom line.
Speaker 5 (12:52):
And I think Paul Cotter got the message. I think
having Connor Brown there is gonna be good.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
You know, you got Dan Andoff and you've got a
whole bunch of players on that bottom six. Lawrence Ech says,
anyone see Ryan Grace put on waivers. He never did
as well as he did in Jersey. Yeah, that's a
big contract to absorb. I believe he has four years left.
(13:21):
Believe it was originally a six year deal that he
had signed with the Pittsburgh Penguins. Ryan Graves defenseman. Gotta
talk to a little fire boy about that. But I'll
tell you Devils are looking pretty good right now. Pretty good.
(13:45):
Michael Hay talking about the Florida Tampa fight. Hey, preseason fight,
you better get it over and done with. I mean,
this season's gonna be a little bit of a weird
season next year because of this expansion is going to
an eighty four game season next year. Some of these
(14:08):
rival games you only get three. I don't know how
the Devils and Rangers are just playing starting in March
of this season, this season twenty twenty six before they
see the Rangers. But eventually we'll go back to four.
(14:28):
So you have two home games and two away games
against the New York Rangers, and then, you know, I
think the Devils got jipped here because they played one
at Potential Center and two at Madison Square Garden. But
as Devils fans, let's turn Maison Square Garden that dump
into the Potential Center by trying to invade the New
(14:50):
York Rangers building. That'd be great, that would be great,
that would be wonderful. Boy, it's great to be back. Well,
let's go Dell's podcast. We're on all cylinders right now,
the debut of The Morning WOU and you know we
(15:16):
got football today, my Penn State and Nindi Lions. I
don't want to talk about the football team just I
feel like a Jets fan right now when I talk
about the Penn State and India Lions. I feel like
a Mets fan when I'm talking about the Penna State
and Ninty Lions football. But what about the Penn State
(15:38):
and Nindy Lions hockey team? Coming back in the third
period against Arizona State, the sun Devils fear the fork
no more, Gavin McKenna scoring the game winning goal.
Speaker 5 (15:55):
I love collegiate hockey, but.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
This is great. This is great. I'm loving college hockey
right now. Ted says, what about the big stage? The
big stage will be back at American Whiskey. Yes, the
big Stage. We'll be back at American Whiskey, hopefully on
(16:19):
opening night. Got talked to Frank the Tank. Yes, American Whiskey,
the official home game bar of the Let's Go to
Old Podcast fifty one Edison Place, Cross Street from Potential
Center next to Championship Plaza.
Speaker 5 (16:37):
It will be a good time. Matt Freudenberger.
Speaker 4 (16:42):
We have to be CAP compliant by five pm Monday,
so expect a big trade today or tomorrow. Look, Matt,
I'll send the email out for Palot Jersey to be made.
Good to see you, Matt Freudenberger. Do you need to
talk to you? Matt Freudenberger, pribly message you on Facebook. Uh,
(17:08):
Mike Roggie says, don't, don't unders saying when State plays Rutgers,
they'll get them a w Yeah, Rutgers.
Speaker 5 (17:15):
I don't even know how Rutgers is in the Big Ten.
Speaker 4 (17:18):
I think it's only for TV purposes only, kind of
using them.
Speaker 5 (17:25):
Well whatever, whatever, Well, this is the maiden voyage of
the Morning WU.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
On a serious note, folks, on a serious note. We'll
talk a little bit more about this on the Sunday
edition of the Let's.
Speaker 5 (17:46):
Go Devils podcast.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
I have seen on social media something that is quite
I don't know what the right word is, but it's
quite scary. One of our own. He is a New
Jersey Devils fan. I think he pronounced his last name Mouch.
(18:14):
Thomas Mouch is missing. It was last scene on October third,
at four am, wearing a hat, gray zip up fleece,
black jeans, hiking shoes. Last scene on Glen's Side Road
in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey. I have met Thomas before
(18:43):
he goes by TJ. I know him as TJ. I
know he's a big Devils fan. But in the past
couple of days, I'm seeing through social media that he
is missing, very serious, fierce news, and I hope law
enforcement is gonna find him.
Speaker 5 (19:05):
Uh. If you have any information on him, I'll let's.
Speaker 4 (19:11):
See here, call the Berkeley Heights Police Department nine oh
eight four six four one one. Again, the number is
nine oh eight four six four one one one. Uh.
I've been reading a couple of articles on uh tap
(19:32):
In and UH one of these other sites saying that, uh,
you know, you may have been walking at the Watchung Reservations.
Speaker 5 (19:44):
There's a search party out for him right now. You
know his wife Julia again.
Speaker 4 (19:55):
Uh, the keys was left apparently allegedly while and all
that he's missing.
Speaker 5 (20:01):
He's one of our own. He's a big Devils fan.
Speaker 4 (20:03):
I met him once and I can tell you he
is a total hardcore New Jersey Devils.
Speaker 5 (20:09):
Fan, and I hope we find him safe soon.
Speaker 4 (20:13):
But we'll talk a little bit more about that on
the Sunday edition of the Let's Go Devil's podcast.
Speaker 5 (20:19):
Just wanted to get that out there. TJ. I hope
we find you soon. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (20:25):
So anyway, well that's it for now. We're gonna talk
more Devils hockey again nine pm Eastern. I hope you
enjoyed the main voyage of the morning WU. I hope
you have your alerts when the podcast is on because
(20:48):
it might be coming on at five thirty am in
the morning, the morning Wu you requested it. It took
two years to figure it out, but it's the morning.
WOU talk a little bit about everything. So again, hold
your bugs, hold your cups high, take a sip. Cheers,
(21:14):
have a great, wonderful day. Until next time, let's go Devils.
