Great to be back back from Hiatus. I enjoyed my
extended vacation. Guys.

Speaker 3 (00:47):
As fall off the cruise ship, that's what we want
to know. Did you fall off the cruise ship at
any point?

Speaker 4 (00:53):
Well, no, but when he when he got off of it,
that son of a bitch raised up about six feet yep.

Speaker 3 (00:58):
Yeah, yeah, I speaking speaking from experience, Bud. Someone's grabbing
for the low hanging fruit right off the start of
the show right here.

Speaker 1 (01:09):
Yes, yeah, Before missus Wu try to push me off
the cruise ship.

Speaker 4 (01:14):
I said, don't, don't, don't.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
I didn't mail out the life insurance and policy check yet.
Oh okay.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
And then well missus Wu was pretty smart because she
let Sam eat whatever the hell he wanted. But then
she forced him to have to walk to the buffet
back and forth over and over again. So you still
got your steps in and you still were you had
some calories there.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
In the long run, you.

Speaker 1 (01:37):
Have to work for everything, you know, if I wanted,
if I wanted that, uh that uh sam salad is
what you guys call it. You know that prime riv.

Speaker 2 (01:51):
With some dressing. You know that that great salad dressing
of au.

Speaker 1 (01:56):
Yeah, you know the raillery stick that just happened to
be there.

Speaker 4 (02:00):
KFC Gray on the feed.

Speaker 1 (02:06):
I'll tell you what, Bear barn that cruise line, celebrity
cruise lines.

Speaker 4 (02:11):
I stand behind him. Yeah, bang up, job that ship
was clean, and when I went, I was clean. Yeah,
it was clean, clean, clean, clean clean.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
It wasn't the poop cruise that happened.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
For uh No, it was funny. I was gonna watch
that looked like a carnival. That looked like a carnival. Yeah, okay,
that's different, Yeah, different cruise lines. But like I watched
the preview for that, and I'm like, like two days
before I went on on the boat, and I was like,
and I'm not one of those people like I can't
watch a scary movie before, you know, going somewhere whatever.

(02:45):
I was just like, you know what, I'm gonna wait
on this one because anything called poop cruise can't be
uh can't be had a happy, a happy trail.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
So did they play Speed two cruise Control on on
the boat?

Speaker 4 (03:00):
Were there like on repeat, on repeat Hopper? Actually, yeah,
Dennis Hopper was there bartending. It was really weird.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
Well wait, Dennis Hopper wasn't in the sequel, was he?

Speaker 2 (03:11):
He wasn't.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
He was dead. He was dead after the first Yeah,
come on, yeh, that's why. That's that's why he had
bart bartending. You know, it's conversation stupid.

Speaker 3 (03:24):
Let's move on and tonight we're showing the fiftieth anniversary
had Jaws for all of your you know, nightmare pleasure,
and tomorrow it's going to be an excursion to the
beach where they filmed it. Sam was just got the
Titanic theme on, like going the whole time with that

(03:44):
camel guy, you know, like falling over and everything.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Actually, I did take the tour of the ship. There
was they had they had some.

Speaker 5 (03:55):
Nerd oh yeah, nerd oh, my, this is where they
had didn't I didn't even understand half of it because
the one captain ladies from Greece, so she had that
thick accent.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
I'm like, I had no idea what she was talking about,
the about the lifeboats. So I asked the most.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Important part, the important So I raised my hand, you know,
just to break the ice.

Speaker 1 (04:28):
You know, A question, my my only question I can
think of.

Speaker 4 (04:31):
Did you introduce herself like the iceberg from Devils podcast?

Speaker 1 (04:35):
No, no, no, I didn't do that. I try to
be incognito. But I did ask are the are their
bathrooms on these lifeboats? And she said no, It's like, well,
how do you like, how.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Do you go to pee over the side?

Speaker 4 (04:48):
Come on, dude, what are you high? Flute?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Empty gatorade bottles with you or something like that?

Speaker 4 (04:56):
You know you just did shove their butts out the window,
out the window. There you go, but big.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
You pee out? Is that what you just said? Put
your butt out?

Speaker 4 (05:06):
Head? No? He said, how do women if if I
drink justice, if I drank enough, if I drink enough
of like the bats? Yeah? Sure. No, he said, how
do the women go? And I said they they stick
their butts out the window and they go, oh okay,
if you were paying.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I didn't know women pee from their butt either, but that's.

Speaker 1 (05:25):
Maybe a one.

Speaker 4 (05:26):
I didn't say they pee out in their butt. I
said they just stick there. How do you know what.

Speaker 2 (05:32):
You know?

Speaker 3 (05:33):
Because actually I went to a screening and jackass to
last night at at Quentin Tarantino's theater The Vista, and wow,
the butt the butt chug of beer with Steve O
when they when they did the butt shug and then
you know, plundered his uh, his his backside and he
was peeing out his butt.

Speaker 4 (05:53):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 3 (05:56):
We're off the rails already, foes.

Speaker 6 (06:00):
Oh my gosh, Yeah, Sam, Sam, if if you're stuck
in a lifeboat, I think you got bigger problems than
needing to know the bathroom is a good point.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
That's a great My insurance policy is out the window,
and so is that woman.

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Asked at poor captains like any questions And you just
see Sam's hand go up in the background.

Speaker 7 (06:22):
Man, oh god, Sam, the lifeboats?

Speaker 2 (06:30):
Do we bring leftovers?

Speaker 4 (06:31):
Is our dog?

Speaker 2 (06:32):
What's the situation? Now?

Speaker 4 (06:33):
How many plates are we allowed?

Speaker 6 (06:36):
Are the buffets on the lifeboats included and are all
inclusive package too?

Speaker 7 (06:40):
Or are they separate?

Speaker 1 (06:43):
Oh my god.

Speaker 4 (06:44):
By the way, short guy, I have to compliment you.
I haven't seen you, you guys in a little while,
so I compliment your hat. That's a nice looking even
though like the live laugh love uh font, it's grown
on me over the years. I actually like the red
hat with the black and white outline on her. That's nice.

Speaker 6 (07:02):
Actually it's uh black, white and green. There's like little
hints of green in it. It's got the ten year anniversary.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
You can never tell on these cameras, at least I
can't see it.

Speaker 4 (07:13):
I know it looks look at that. That's a nice time.

Speaker 7 (07:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (07:18):
This the side got the Tennis tenth anniversary patch on
it too.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
So I saw it. I was like, I gotta get it.

Speaker 4 (07:25):
Yeah, that's a good one. Scotty. Did you ever get
this hat sent out to you? Yes?

Speaker 2 (07:31):
I did, Yes, thank you?

Speaker 4 (07:33):
All right, good good goody had got it?

Speaker 2 (07:37):
I can't remember.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
That's big time, Big Tom. Yeah, Tom Tom Tom Tommy boy.
So boys, we we we have a schedule that has
been released recently, and there's some questions and concerns that
I have and I'm curious and I can almost guarantee
that you guys feel the same way about the lack

(08:00):
amount of times that the Devils are playing the Rangers. A. Uh,
the overall schedule is it's just yeah, three times. By
the way, one of them is home. Only one of
those games is home against the Rangers.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
And they're all in the same month too, like with him,
and they're in the same month period.

Speaker 7 (08:15):
Yeah, yeah, I always remember the season now.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
Yeah, and I don't. I don't understand. Good.

Speaker 6 (08:22):
It's because they they want all those games towards the
end to be counting for something as far as playoffs
and playoffs standings are concerned.

Speaker 8 (08:30):
It's I think it's AI doesn't doesn't right, It's not
like it's not like a Major League Baseball where it's
like a husband and wife who are like in their
sixties and this is not a joke, who like sit
down and write.

Speaker 7 (08:41):
I don't think they do that anymore.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
No, they don't.

Speaker 4 (08:45):
I thought they still did.

Speaker 6 (08:46):
I thought they recently went to computerize that. But I'm
not quite sure. But yeah, you're right. The husband and
wife did it for years.

Speaker 3 (08:54):
Yeah, and that was in like the nineteen forties. They're
still doing it now.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
How old are these people are doing it?

Speaker 7 (09:00):
Like seventies, eighties, nineties.

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Yeah, did they failed them.

Speaker 3 (09:04):
With like malcaide or whatever to keep them alive. How
the hell are they doing it for so long?

Speaker 4 (09:10):
Exactly that. So anyways, we're looking at October. They vampires
reverse vampires. We are in the month of October and
we're looking at the first game.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Way wouldn't a reverse vampire be just a human being?

Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yep, you got it. So going into October, as I
was trying to say, speaking of vampires, their their favorite month. Thursday,
October ninth in Carolina is the season opener, and then
they go to Tampa Bay and then out to Columbus,
so a very kind of like a how you do

(09:45):
a little swing about for the first three games, and
then the home opener. Boys the home opener on Thursday,
October the sixteenth, which seems a little late. Usually it's
around a tenth or the ninth. They get their home
own opener, but against the defending Stanley Cup champions, who
seem like they're running back their entire squad, which is

(10:07):
always fun to watch.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
So conveniently conveniently on the same night as the Giants
at Eagles game on Thursday night.

Speaker 4 (10:16):
Too convenient, Kim, very convenient, and also and also.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
Way to go old old zombie couple. Wait wait, wait
to figure that one out there.

Speaker 4 (10:24):
Jeez, yeah, start screaming about brains and get on the
actual uh, get your stuff together. And then they visit
and then Edmonton comes to down so they actually they
faced back to back, which I found kind of interesting
in the beginning of that because we'll talk about a
little bit of the highlights of the of the schedule.
But right at the beginning of the year, you get

(10:44):
Florida and then followed by Edmonton, so you're getting the
Stanley Cup Finals in right back games right away. So
here their schedules jumps off right away.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
It's tough.

Speaker 3 (10:56):
Well, here's a question for you right off the bat,
right off the bat, because Edmund's a perfect example. Would
you be crying if the if the Edmonton Oilers did
not come to the Prudential Center next season?

Speaker 4 (11:12):
Uh no? Can I can? I just say quick butt?
But I understand why they do it. The exposure of
the game. I get it. You want people to see McDavid.

Speaker 3 (11:22):
You want more Ranger Devil's games or more Flyer Devil games,
or do you want to see Connor McDavid, or you
know the La Kings where I am or the Anaheim Ducks.
You know, like okay, because that's all it is is
so you get all those teams going back and forth.
If you do it every other year, then you're gonna

(11:42):
get more of those rivalry games, which I think everyone misses.

Speaker 2 (11:45):
But it's the same thing as you get the exposure
of those big teams. You know.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
I don't know if they could, if the zombie people
who are making the schedule can figure out a way
to do Okay, they do half of them.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
The Mould people edmondt.

Speaker 3 (12:01):
Does half of the met you know division this year,
you know, and then they do half the met Division
next year where they travel, you know, to alternate and
so you still get an opportunity to see Connor McDavid
in the New York and you know market or whatever.
Maybe they're playing the Islanders and the Flyers this year
and then next year they come in and play the
Rangers and the Devils.

Speaker 2 (12:20):
You know.

Speaker 3 (12:21):
I don't know, but it does suck the lack of
you know, rivalry games these days. But I totally I
get why they're doing it to spread the game with
the superstars and everything like that. But it's just an
interesting question, you know, and everyone out there on YouTube
forgot to say hi to everybody. Welcome back everyone, thanks
for signing in and saying hello. But would you guys

(12:44):
be opposed to it going back to the old way
of you know, not every team visits every arena every year,
so we can get some more Devil's Rangers, Devils Flyers.

Speaker 2 (12:57):
Type of games.

Speaker 4 (12:58):
Yeah, I think a great idea. And it's almost like
how the NFL changes each year they're they're playing a
different division. I think that's like in a sense of
like splitting the division and like having them play, you know,
a couple of teams this year and then a couple
of teams next year. It also probably I don't know
how that would work out, like scheduling wise or not

(13:19):
scheduling wise, like travel wise, if that would be more
beneficial for the teams on their wallet not to spend
as much money because they're gonna be moving around more
within their division, within their you know, closer rivals, and
not having them to do cross country trips and this,
that and the other thing. So what do you boys think?

Speaker 1 (13:39):
You know what I think, which has nothing to do
with anything, but I think they need to redo the
entire playoff seating because I'm thinking what they're thinking is, Okay,
we'll have three games against the Rangers, but hopefully, you know,
in the first two rounds, maybe they'll play mm hmmm,

(14:03):
because there there's no reason, like why are they all
in March. That's that's strange, m hm.

Speaker 6 (14:11):
Because they're hoping that those games count more like three
point games than not. They're hoping that there's some close
every division right, agreed, agreed, but specifically March. What they're
hoping is that those games are gonna are gonna count
for more because the standings are close. You know, they're
hoping that within that Metro Division, especially against the Rangers,

(14:34):
that those are the games that you know you're gonna
be fighting for that that spot and and looking to
jockey around the That would be my that that's at
least my thought that that's that's why the Ranger games
because they've always been In the last couple of years,
the Ranger games have been towards the end of the season.

Speaker 4 (14:55):
Yeah, we don't have a game.

Speaker 3 (15:00):
I'm gonna go with the approach on this one and
say that, Yeah, I'd rather see more rivalry division games
than worrying about if Connor McDavid is coming into town
because of the odds, I'm even gonna go to that freaking.

Speaker 4 (15:13):
Game, you know, Like so Scotty here's always watching TV. Yeah,
and here's here's a good question for the owners is
like what what drives ticket price? Is more a Devil's
Rangers game or a Devil's at Minton Oilers game. Yeah,
you're getting the draw power of like David, but how
much of that is how much of a draw is
that real? In really and really you know, like these

(15:36):
these division games, you're gonna you're gonna have a packed
barn no matter what.

Speaker 2 (15:40):
No matter what.

Speaker 4 (15:41):
If it's like a Twesdavil Rangers Islanders, doesn't matter. Yeah,
it could be a Tuesday night in the middle of
freaking like I don't know, December, and you're still gonna
sell out a Flyers Devil's game on a Tuesday. But
like if you have a you know, Canucks Devil's game,
even though like yeah, Quinn Hughes is cool and like

(16:01):
you know, you get, oh, hey you got to watch
him play with his brother.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
He may not even be there.

Speaker 1 (16:07):
With us.

Speaker 4 (16:09):
Exactly, but like point being is like, yeah, that's it's
it makes way more sense to have more rivalry games,
and especially you know in this area, the Tri state area,
like even Washington gets a great you know, they get
a good amount of people up to the Devil's games
when they when they play Washington.

Speaker 3 (16:26):
Yeah, because you could take the amtrak right up. You
could do that direct am track. It's like two out
two and a half hours. So yeah, I mean, I
just from personal experience, you know, like with you know,
my job. Serious, we have New York and DC offices
and that's how people go back and forth all the
time is on that direct Amtrak thing.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
I mean.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
And if anyone who's ever been on New Jersey transit,
you know those train stop so the amtrack can go
right on through because those am tracks don't stop for anyone.
So yeah, and you got you got a you got
the Penn station right there and Nork where you get off.

Speaker 2 (16:58):
On and boom, Yeah, all those fans and come right up.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
I mean we've seen it with Montreal fans coming down
when the Canadians, you know.

Speaker 4 (17:06):
Bruins fans, Bruins fans travel well down there. Yeah, it's
tickets are affordable.

Speaker 3 (17:14):
It's a nicer arena than Madison Square Garden. And yeah,
why wouldn't you want to go to that if you
were those teams? So for me personally, I mean I
feel the same way. I mean I think the same
thing about baseball too, like an interleague play and everything
like that. I'm like, I would rather see more you know,
Mets Phillies, Mets Braves than you know, some of these
American League teams and vice versa. I'm sure you would

(17:36):
probably see more. You know, well, for a, you're the
only one here, more Yankees, Red Sox and you know,
rank Yankees, Blue Jays and stuff like that, rather than
you know, let me just pick the Diamondbacks coming in,
you know, to play the Yankee Like, who cares?

Speaker 2 (17:53):
You know, pick a division?

Speaker 3 (17:56):
You know, you do that one division this year, you
do the next division next year. That's just me personally,
so but now I get it they.

Speaker 2 (18:05):
Want to get the stars around.

Speaker 6 (18:06):
But yeah, it's just it would be nice to have
a home and home, an even home and home series
with the Rangers instead of two MS. And that one
start that pisses me off is that a three pm start,
That day three pm start, you hate those.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
That's got to be that's got to be a nationally
televised game then right, yeah, no you say no, say no, yeah.

Speaker 1 (18:32):
No, yeah, okay, I didn't say no.

Speaker 2 (18:36):
Oh I thought you said no no.

Speaker 1 (18:38):
But you know I three pm starts last year's schedule
and then December twenty third is not it's it's a way,
it's all the way. Yeah, I don't know, if you know.
I'm all about Invasion Tours this year more than ever.
Let's turn those two games and Square Garden as Devil's

(19:01):
home games. You know, you know, we got plenty of
time the planet, but usually we start talking about it
mid February.

Speaker 6 (19:10):
But yeah, well we should we should change that for
this year because I've already but that was the first
thing I looked at with the schedule was like, what
are some games to be able to get to to
travel like travel like Scotty, You've got a nice you
gotta you got a good weekend out there in the
beginning of November where the Devils are out there in
la and then Anaheim.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
I mean that I got a nice Saturday Sunday this year,
which is which is.

Speaker 6 (19:31):
Yeah, I mean honestly that that would be a fun
trip to come out and at least check the.

Speaker 7 (19:35):
Game in l A.

Speaker 6 (19:37):
Yeah, you know, maybe not be able to do both,
but to check out that game in l a and
then you know, fly back home. You know, it's it
would be fun. You know, That's that's what I look
at immediately. You know, Vegas is in the middle of
the week, Nashville's towards the end of the week. Seattle's
on a weekend, which is nice.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
Yep.

Speaker 6 (19:56):
Sunday, Yeah, on a Sunday whatever. You know, we have this,
ye know, sick days.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Exactly.

Speaker 7 (20:05):
I mean, go home and home at Montreal.

Speaker 6 (20:07):
That would be fun to do in April Montreal home
on a Saturday and then train up there.

Speaker 4 (20:13):
You know, that would be fun.

Speaker 6 (20:15):
A lot of possibilities we can do.

Speaker 4 (20:18):
You want to go to Winnipeg in January eleventh on
a Sunday.

Speaker 6 (20:22):
I would absolutely do that. I would do absolutely would.

Speaker 4 (20:26):
I'm laughing because there's probably a lot of people that
are like Winnipeg, what's up there? I'm like, dude, I
would go with a heartbeat. I would go to any
I would go to any away game, any away game.

Speaker 3 (20:36):
I would prefer to maybe be in March, you know,
warm just October, November, maybe not January.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Up there in Old Canada, being a little snowy.

Speaker 4 (20:48):
A little chilly, little chill. Yeah, Boston. Boston is a
Saturday Saturday away game. What a brutal Listen to this one.
They play Vegas, that would be fun, one home and
then they go to Boston on Saturday. That's a back
to back game. How many back to backs do they

(21:08):
have this year? I haven't even looked.

Speaker 6 (21:09):
At fifteen I heard I haven't counted number fifteen. If
mac Max is in the chat fifteen, he's ready. I
think Rangers have thirteen.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
I wonder who has the most flyers up fourteen.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
I think Pittsburgh.

Speaker 6 (21:26):
Maybe it's a truncated season a little bit too, because
you have the Olympic break, you have the team y right.

Speaker 4 (21:37):
That's so that's a huge break and that that's going
to be interesting too, because you know, there is a
lot of people I was listening to something recently and
they were talking about the guys that go on like
that are on Olympic teams, and essentially they don't they
don't get this break like they don't get a break,
or at least they don't get along as long as
a break as like the you know, guys that are

(21:58):
not on the Olympic teams obviously, but it also is
like hockey. These guys, you know, you saw it in
the Four Nations last year, where they want to play
for their country and it is it is. It is
a thing of pride, and it's not just like oh yeah, yeah, yeah,
this is gonna be fun, like whoa, We'll be in
the Olympics and you know, like the Dream Team were

(22:18):
just absolutely ragged all every single country until we get gold.
What I love about Olympic hockey and the fact that
they're bringing back the NHL is the gold medal game
against the United States and Canada when Crosby won in overtime.
That bum was still probably one of the greatest games

(22:41):
I've ever watched in my entire life, Like that was
one of the greatest. Ryan Miller standing on his head,
Zach Perezy, like we had a couple guys on Jamie Langambrunner, Like,
there's a couple guys from the Devils that were on
a team. It was just that run was such a
fun run. It was like you're rooting against you know,
guys that are r on your team too. Because there's

(23:02):
a couple of guys that were on Team Canada that
were from the Devil's as well. I think Nita Meyer
was on that team. I don't know if bro Door was.
Was he a backup on that team? It wasn't. No,
I think lu Wango was the number one on that team.

(23:24):
I don't have to look it up anyway. Yeah, but
I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time,
like it scares the hell out of me because, like
you know, you look at the Florida Panthers and that's
if we Jack needs to get some muscle, he needs
to be able to stay healthy. And Stanley Ice like
this team they got pieces they still need to figure
out before the season starts. And I don't know, boys,

(23:49):
I don't know what's gonna happen to Dougie. I mean
they have them in every single promo they have. They're like, hey,
we got a promo, Dougie, what are you doing nothing?
Come on over, let's do this. You're gonna be NJ
Devil and take off your helmet and blah blah blah.
But you're good for him, dude. This is why I
love Dougie Hamilton because he's willing to do everything and
he's he's a true ambassador of the team. And he's
he's always involved with something, so it'll be sad if

(24:13):
he goes. But I don't know him and Palott. You
got these two albatrosses just kind of hanging around with
your contracts and uh, I don't know, boys, I don't
know who's gonna take him, but you're gonna By.

Speaker 3 (24:27):
The way, I just I do want to just throw
this out here real quick before we move into the
dougie stuff. Is that, you know, the Four Nations and
the Olympics and everything like that. Players do get paid
for those as well, which is also another reason why
they're yeah excited to represent their country.

Speaker 2 (24:42):
You know, it's bonus checks.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
Yeah, So okay, yeah, all right, fair enough on that too.
But I mean go ahead.

Speaker 6 (24:52):
The three goalies for that team where lu Wongo, Flurry
and bro Door.

Speaker 4 (24:57):
There you go, okay, Hella goal Helva really yeah, And
that was that was Flurry in his prime, That was
lu Wongo, and that was Burdur in the back end
of his career, and that was lu Wongo. Lu Wongo
was still pretty strong at that point. I forget was
it Flurry that was the starter in that game.

Speaker 1 (25:21):
That Olympics twenty he.

Speaker 6 (25:24):
Was twenty ten, twenty ten, Yeah, there's twenty ten. It
was probably Flurry that was starting. No, I'm thinking Lauongo.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
I think it was lu Wongo.

Speaker 7 (25:38):
I'll look into it.

Speaker 3 (25:41):
But yeah, with Dougie Hamilton, I mean, it's gonna be
you know, interesting to see what happened.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
Same thing with Palot.

Speaker 3 (25:49):
I'm pretty sure that FITZI is trying to shop both
of them. There have been some reports of multiple teams,
you know, being interested in mister Dougie Hamilton, which is
really no surprise. And what were the team's Utah, Dallas, Detroit,

(26:12):
Toronto as well. Here they're missing a very popular expensive
player these days now, so they have some room that
they can fill up that, you know, maybe take some
of that salary off. I think it would be a
great fit. But I don't think Fitzi's gonna rush the trade.
He's gonna make sure it's a it's a good one
for the team because I know, like we were chatting,

(26:36):
what's the return gonna be.

Speaker 2 (26:37):
I don't think it's gonna be much.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
If a team's gonna be taking on that full nine
million dollar contract for how whatever's another three years, another
four years, I don't think there's gonna be much return.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
So see that all depends. It depends if the devil's.

Speaker 3 (26:51):
Are gonna eat some of that money, then they might
get some stuff back if they If they are able
to get that entire contract off the books, then that's
good work. And then and then for it's a yeah
for a lot. It's a tricky situation because he's got
two years left and I know a lot of people
are saying buy him out, buy him out. But if

(27:13):
you buy him out, then how many years does that ad?

Speaker 4 (27:17):
You know, in that they split they split the contract
up in yeah, sixty years or whatever.

Speaker 1 (27:23):
It is.

Speaker 4 (27:23):
Cold Trucks felt like it lasted forever, even though that
was a different circumstance. Chorus Schneiders was on a book forever.
I remember that one Cory's was on.

Speaker 1 (27:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (27:34):
I mean, so you get two years left of a lot,
like try and trade him or I don't know, if
you buy him out, then it's probably what another it's
four years you're gonna have to be paying them, you know,
dead money there, and we just got out of all
that dead money, and I know the cap is going up,
so maybe it might be may not be as you know,
you know, as big of effect on the team. But

(27:57):
as the cap goes up, I don't know if anyone's
noticed players salary he's are skyrocketing as well.

Speaker 4 (28:02):
So that Marner deal, yeah, it makes it makes that
deal for Jack looks so good. For that Marner deal
eight twelve. That's insane.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
It's it's ridiculous.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
But these salaries are going up and they're not gonna
stop because it's just gonna be like football and baseball
and back where it's just the next guy, like you
got to get the most money if possible and set
a new standard, you know, and then.

Speaker 2 (28:27):
Up and up and up and up and up, and it's.

Speaker 3 (28:29):
Just you get the players that are overpaid and it
kind of just puts a damper on everything. But with Plot, yeah,
it's like do you do you just go with these
last two years, try and trade him at the at
the deadline if possible. Maybe he has a rebound year.
I don't know, but it's it's a it's a tricky situation.

Speaker 1 (28:50):
A lot of Hamilton have some value and here's why
their contracts. Even though the AAV is spread over time,
they actually got paid up front. So another team that
would pick up a loot from actual dollars coming from
their bank account into his is a lot less because
Plots are probably received probably about eighty percent of his

(29:13):
salary already.

Speaker 3 (29:16):
Going to be a cap hit though the.

Speaker 1 (29:19):
Yeah, cap hit is the same. But in terms of
bottom line what's coming out of my pocket, Yeah, there
is value there because the devil's already assumed the risk.
You know that that that business risk. So it's like,
all right, if you if you're a team that has
I don't know, calf space to burn or you're trying

(29:41):
to get to the floor, that's a good deal to
get Plot if he allows it. Because I think that
I think it's no trade clause is down to ten.
You trade him there, Maybe he can get some good
picks back. I don't know, but you know, again, it's

(30:02):
I wouldn't say that polot and and and Hamilton have
no value. They obviously have value. But yeah, they helps
a lot when you don't have to spend money out
of your own pocket.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
They definitely have value.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
I mean, Dougie, I think more than Plot at this point, obviously,
especially for teams who need some offensive defenseman, he's he's
a perfect fit wherever. Now, you also got to remember,
for our purposes. This is why you don't rush a
Dougie Hamilton trade.

Speaker 2 (30:34):
You don't.

Speaker 3 (30:34):
You don't need to re sign Luke Hughes right now.
He's still got another you know year there so, and
you also have an injured Covid Savage who's not gonna
come back until a couple of months into the season.
So if you trade Dougie Hamilton, then it's like and
how many years have we said this now?

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Oh, we don't want these defensemen continue learning on the job.

Speaker 3 (31:01):
You trade Dougie Hamilton, well then you got Jamus Casey
and simonemag.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Back in the line up there on an everyday basis.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Yeah, but I feel like Nemah might be ready to
take that big step, might.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
Be not not definite.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Sure, that's a lot, that's a lot, that's a pretty
big maybe.

Speaker 4 (31:20):
Yeah there, No, I get it. Yeah, it's a big ask.
It's a big ask.

Speaker 1 (31:24):
But you got to get rid of plot. So that's
my next jersey. I'm going to order.

Speaker 2 (31:28):
That's I mean, I think that's the one. Yeah, because
Dougie and when Covid Savage comes.

Speaker 3 (31:32):
Back, then yeah, that'll open it up because then you
have that right handed, you know shot defenseman there uh
in Covid Savitch. We know he's not gonna put up
as many points, but we've seen him, you know, have
some offensive numbers as well.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
So if you trade Dougie, now great, you get out
under the cat.

Speaker 3 (31:50):
The other way, it's it's a it's a good thing
is if it means that Quinn Hughes is coming back.
But if Quinn Hughes ain't coming back in that deal,
then you've kind of you've kind of opened up a
little of a hole on your defense until Covid Savage
can you know, recover and get back into I think
I think the the estimate is, like, was it like
five to six weeks into the season, So maybe not

(32:10):
until like you know, Thanksgiving time, he'll probably maybe he
might be ready.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
I don't know if that's like ready to play or
ready to get back into shape. I have to research that.
I don't know off the top of my head if
he's ready to think, okay, maybe.

Speaker 4 (32:26):
But it been nice, like it would have been nice
to hold on to Dumalin even like a one year
short contract just just for a stop gap.

Speaker 3 (32:36):
But but he was able to get secure more years.
So you know, he's obviously as a player, you're gonna
go with that, so you can't fault him there. No,
I agree though that would have been if that then
if you did that, then it's like all hands, we
need to trade Dougie. But right now, if you do, you're,
like I said, you kind of open up a little

(32:57):
bit of a gap there for for a bit, which
made you know, like you said, maybe Nemics is you know,
maybe the playoff Nemts that we saw, maybe that's who's
gonna come back next season.

Speaker 7 (33:08):
Fantastic, they're all all year.

Speaker 2 (33:10):
That would be fantastic.

Speaker 4 (33:11):
Yeah, just dominate.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
But he's just straight up a pretty big maybe, yeah, it's.

Speaker 1 (33:15):
Not pretty big.

Speaker 7 (33:17):
He's on the final year. Maybe.

Speaker 6 (33:20):
You know, Nemich is on the final year of his
entry level, so he's really got to have to prove
it this year and he has to step it up.
I don't think there's a question, like he has to
step it up if he wants to get anything. And
then we've got two more years left with Seamus Casey
on his so you know, but you know, Nemich is
an RFA at the end of that contract, just like

(33:41):
Lucas an RFA right now, So you know, Lucas.

Speaker 4 (33:45):
Luca's not an r f A.

Speaker 7 (33:47):
Yes he is.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
He I don't. I don't think he's an rf next year,
next year, next year, he's in RFA.

Speaker 6 (33:56):
No, he's he has I'm looking at Puck Pedias. There's
no current contract for Luke so he has to be signed.

Speaker 4 (34:05):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 2 (34:06):
He's an r f A now, yeah, right?

Speaker 1 (34:09):
Or no?

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Is it at the end of the season.

Speaker 7 (34:12):
Right now it says he's no current contract? So uh
his three years?

Speaker 6 (34:18):
His three years is his first season was when he
played at the very end of the season and played
like two games that counted as one year.

Speaker 4 (34:29):
He's an r f A.

Speaker 2 (34:30):
This year he's an r f A.

Speaker 4 (34:34):
Yeah, Luke is out of contract.

Speaker 7 (34:39):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (34:39):
They qualified Luke a j oh right, okay, they qualified.
See here's the thing here, and.

Speaker 2 (34:49):
I I was looking at nets.

Speaker 3 (34:52):
On the Yes, he's got he's got one year. Yeah,
he's got the one year left. My bad, Sorry, everybody,
I'd done screwed up there, Thank you, thank you.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
It's so going back to to Luke and to these guys. Now,
the contract that everybody's talking about, To Luke, what do
you think would be a fair contract? Because I don't
you see the potential of what he could be? But
it's like, but you haven't been doing it for years
like you have. It's not like it's been like a
forem gone conclusion that you're going to be, you know,

(35:23):
the next best. You know, you're gonna be like Quinn
basically right, So you could see it. You can see
that potential. Are you paying him on potential? Are you
paying him on on performance?

Speaker 3 (35:36):
You're paying him potential on the performance you've seen now
and the potential of getting Quinn to come here and
sign as well. So what do you think?

Speaker 4 (35:47):
Eight eight eight? Would you give him eight eight?

Speaker 3 (35:51):
If you can get him somehow under eight you know,
a little family discount here, Hey, baby, buddy, be you
take like seven mili, you know, so we can throw
all the little extra to your brother and get him
over here.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
Then yeah, you go there. But yeah, I would think
probably around eight million.

Speaker 1 (36:04):
Probably gonna take nine eight get him.

Speaker 4 (36:08):
You think it's you think it's gonna take nine because
he wants to He wants to take more than Jack did.

Speaker 1 (36:13):
Jackson has nothing to do with it. It's market value
plus the eight year rule is going to end on
the next CBA. So you maybe want to take that
that that extra year guaranteed. You know, you know, the
owners are good for it. So that's my opinion, of course.
I mean, you know, I don't know what and you know,
the possibility of Quinn, if there is a possibility, would

(36:37):
he give that discount? If that's what the devils are
are aiming for? Who knows?

Speaker 2 (36:43):
You know, Yeah, I don't know. Maybe you can get
him on you know a little bit.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Maybe the contract value goes up as the term goes
along a little bit.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
But yeah, I mean, but if you can get him
for eight eight.

Speaker 3 (37:00):
Same thing as Jack, you're signing your name on that
dotted line there. Because I don't think we were just
talking about the salaries in the NHL are going up
and up.

Speaker 4 (37:16):
Up more.

Speaker 3 (37:18):
There's there's gonna be another young kid who gets signed
for a ridiculous amount. Then it's gonna be that's the
new standard, and then you're gonna have to top that.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
Well, wait until McDavid, Connor McDavid being a free agent
next year. He's gonna he's gonna break he's gonna break Edington.
But the problem with that kind of stuff is and
and somebody mentioned it in the chat earlier, and it's
one of the formulas that Fitzgerald has been working with
with the Devils, which a lot of people are like, oh,
this is he's he's been building this team by basically

(37:48):
like when he's in contract negotiations saying like you need
to leave a little bit of meat on the table.
If you don't, then yeah, you'll get yours, but we
won't be going anywhere like you won't let us, you
won't allow us the opportunity to kind of build what
we need to build. You look at the Florida Panthers
and a lot of those guys are taking hometown discounts
and like staying in Florida. I mean, yeah, there's no

(38:10):
state tax and blah blah blah, and you know, you
got a practice rink that you could drive your golf
cart too, and it's like a beautiful place to play,
a beautiful place to live, and you don't have to
drive into you know, questionable parts of Nork just to
get into the stadium. I get why certain guys do it.
And then like, look, they're they're winning, and right now
that team doesn't look like they have any any signs

(38:33):
of stopping unless barring any major injuries. But like Florida's
got it figured out, I think Fitzi has it figured
out where he's like, he's getting these guys in at
the right cost and at the right price. He's not
over He could have easily overpaid Jack, you know, when
when he signed his contract, he could have definitely you know,
pushed nine to five ten. But also Jack going into

(38:58):
that contract was still you know, injury like, way more
injury prone than he is now. And he was still
kind of proving himself. I think that was pre his
hundred point season, not post this hundred point season or
ninety nine point season.

Speaker 2 (39:13):
So I was gonna say he's got.

Speaker 4 (39:17):
He had the ninety nine he had the ninety nine
point season the year they beat the Rangers in.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
The playoffs, I know that, but there were they no
triple digits yet, not yet some day.

Speaker 4 (39:26):
Yet he was on his way. He was well on
its way this year, but you know, God this year.

Speaker 7 (39:32):
But yeah, but he's got He's.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
Gonna stay healthy, he's got to he's got to bulk
up a little bit. But I think also they it's
not one or the other. I really love how they
hired that trainer away from the Mariners. Whose pitching staff
did so well with injuries. There's nothing wrong with combining both,
you know, these different fitness plans, but also getting in
there and bulking yourself up a little bit, just building

(39:58):
some extra muscle and protection around that show where you
know you can be injury prone. Because Jack is what
he's missed over like a hundred games or so in
his career already, so it's it's a lot.

Speaker 2 (40:09):
That's a lot for him to be out.

Speaker 3 (40:11):
Is he played a full season, He's never played a
full seasons.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Yeah, he's gotten hurt every single year.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
So love Jack.

Speaker 3 (40:21):
You know, he's like a point, he's over a point
per game when he is healthy and playing. But it's
just keeping him in there for an entire season. And
I don't know if that's getting someone else on that
line to do some more on the dirty work, or

(40:41):
you know, do you split up Jack and Jasper and
put him, you know where he can be have a
little bit more protection between two bigger guys. I don't
really know, but I like the idea of that, you know,
new fitness coach and just the idea of hitting the
gym a little bit more.

Speaker 2 (40:59):
Do both. It doesn't have to be one of the
I see people debating that, oh, he's got to hit
the gym. No, he's got to do the fitness thing.
Do frigging both. It's not it's not that complicated.

Speaker 4 (41:07):
You can do both FITSI at the end of the
season basically said, you know, he needs to boke up.
There is like no ifs, hands or butts about it,
like he needs to boke up. He's like, you know,
Jack needs to realize how Jack realizes how important he
is to the team, but he needs to like put
on some muscle and YadA, YadA, YadA. Yeah, he needs
to stay healthy the entire team. Like you think about

(41:30):
that that playoff series against Carolina and how different it
would have looked if that team was healthy going in.
And I'm not saying definitively the Devils would have won,
right because I can't. I can't sit there and say like, oh, yeah,
they would have had they would have run right through Carolina.
They would have run right through because you know, first

(41:51):
of all, the playoffs are so it's a different beast,
and and there's teams that you're like, for sure they're
gonna go walk this other team and they get absolutely smoked.
So there's you know, you just look at how close
they kept those games with a completely depleted lineup, you know,
and God blessed Nico hesher Man. Anybody that ever questions

(42:14):
his leadership or or or anything about this dude has
it all wrong. Like Nico hesher is an absolute just
he's he's I'm I'm more than pleased that he's our captain.
You know, the dude puts everything out in the line.
He plays a full, you know, two hundred foot game
like he's he's, he's everything you want in a captain.

(42:38):
And you know, he was on the ice for that
last goal against Carolina and you could see him just
just absolutely devastated because and exhausted because a dude just
laid his life out in the line for oh that
entire series. He was but I mean he was every
shift he was, he was working his ass off.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
But yeah, he was.

Speaker 3 (42:58):
He was laying it all out there. I mean he wasn't,
you know, saving something. I Mean it was do or
die for them, So he was given us all. And
I don't know, maybe with Jack, I mean, yeah, he's
just can we get him somebody someone call like Batman
against some of that like Bane Venom and shoot him up,
you know, like before the game or something like that.

Speaker 4 (43:16):
You know, like just I don't know, but like, yeah,
I'm right.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
Yeah, he's just got to get to the gym a
little bit more and you know, but he's also got
to just be smart about it and not overdo it.
And if you if you have an injury prone shoulder,
just don't overdo it. Be smart with your workouts, use
the trainers, fallow. You know, you got to make one
of those like workout diaries and everything like that. I
know it sucks, but hey, you're a professional athlete.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
This is part of the job. So go on, get
it done.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
We know you can do it, Jackie boy. And we
know you want to be out there. We know you
don't want to be injured because when you are out there,
like we just said, you're I think he's like, uh,
he's definitely over I don't know what the exact thing,
but he's over a point per game when he's healthy
and on the ice.

Speaker 4 (44:00):
Dude, he was. He was at one point he was
like three point per game player in the beginning. It
was in the beginning of last year he was he
was on an absolute terror and it was like, oh, damn.
Remember when the power play. You boys, remember like when
the power play was just like unstoppable good. They're just like, yeah,
they couldn't they couldn't really score five on five, but boy,
they were ripping goals when they were getting a power

(44:22):
play and it was it was just so like, oh
my god. It reminded me of the old like Cobalchuck
days when they get into like a shootout and you'd
be like, this was over, thanks for coming, but we're
gonna Rodora is gonna make the sname, Kobe's gonna score
the goal. Then we're out. See you later. I'll catch
a train.

Speaker 6 (44:37):
So yeah, he's he's just you know, you're you're absolutely right, Scotty.
He's he's got a bulke up. But you have to
assume that he knows that he knows this, that he's
been told this. But having a new trainer come in
could just really be everything that they need. You know, this,

(45:00):
this this guy has the history with the Mariners and
their pitching staff. I think it's phenomenal. You know, it's
one of those things that just gotta get done, and
just having another voice telling him to do this, that
and the other thing. It's gonna be a good It's
gonna be good.

Speaker 3 (45:18):
Yeah, And I think there's also the motivation for him.
I think that all the motivation for him too is
getting Quin over there.

Speaker 7 (45:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (45:27):
You know, you find that you get all your your your.

Speaker 3 (45:29):
Two brothers to play together, and you're gonna get you
want to get hurt, No, like you wanted the expectation
that you're gonna play those entire seasons out with your brothers.
So I think that's also hopefully a motivating factor for
Jack as well, to get your body up to that level.

Speaker 4 (45:51):
Not a surprise, Sam Dubs. By the way, the Knees series, Yeah,
if mark Strom didn't stand on his head. Yeah, he
was under siege a lot in in a couple of
those games. But like I think it's over team. Yeah.
I think that game was that series was way closer
than you give it credit for. You can't say that

(46:12):
they didn't They absolutely didn't belong out there. I mean,
like I feel like they they held their own as
best as they could. I mean, it was like a
one armed man going into a fight, like, you know,
he's gonna do all right, He's gonna get his ass kicked,
but he's gonna do alright, he'll hang in there for
a little while. And that's what they did. They hung
in there for a little while. But yeah, Mark, he

(46:32):
stood on his head. I mean, and you take the
positives out of that series, like you really saw some
you know, nemach really come alive. And Mark Strom like
showed you, like, all right, if we get into a
healthy team and we go on and run this, dude,
could you know, push us beyond the barriers of where
we thought we could be?

Speaker 3 (46:54):
But I don't know, you know, and Bill here on
the YouTube chat, he makes a good point. I'm I mean,
can you imagine Jack playing seven games against the Sam
Bennett or Matthew Kuchuck or something like that. Yeahcause, let's
face it, we've been saying this now for a little
bit and you were just reiterating it before beer baron.

Speaker 2 (47:14):
If you want to get to the Stanley Cup, most
likely that path is you got to the Florida Panthers.

Speaker 4 (47:20):
Yep, those big No. That should be too, that should.

Speaker 2 (47:25):
Be your standard. That's what you should be expected. Like, Okay,
what level do I have to get up to?

Speaker 3 (47:30):
I have to get up to the level of being
able to play seven game playoff series against the Florida Panthers.

Speaker 4 (47:36):
That's the level of.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
Muscle and shape, you know, and preparedness you got to
be ready for.

Speaker 4 (47:42):
And if you don't think that, the NHL like is like, oh,
you know, like the NHL, it's whatever, the trend is,
like whatever the teams are, the teams that are winning,
and like teams are like, all right, we either have
to be that or figure out how to beat that.
And you look at the draft and every like a
lot of these forwards, a lot of these kids are
like huge.

Speaker 2 (48:01):
March Jack oh man, Sorry, I didn't mean to cut
you off.

Speaker 4 (48:09):
Ahead, No, no, no, no, I'm just saying, like you
look at what the rest of the league is looking
at the Florida Panthers, and they're like, yep, this is
this is a standard. This is what we're gonna have
to do. I think I don't know. I think Dallas
would have given him a hell of a run if
Dallas made it to the Cup final.

Speaker 6 (48:24):
But mhm, Dallas is running out of steam. Yeah but
if but but that that and there is is why
you want to finish as high as you possibly can
in the regular season. So you have homice advantage, you
have homeice advantage against someone like the Panthers. That's that's
four games where you get to throw the line out
that you want against players like uh uh ka, Chuck

(48:47):
and and Bennett so you can keep Jack away from them.
So that's that's the advantage of wanting to to get
those higher seeds as well, Like we can't just be
making it into the playoffs. We've we've got to get
into the play playoffs and you know, get that home
mis advantage because that's gonna help us dramatically as well.

Speaker 4 (49:06):
Yeah, and you know what, I got the perfect trade.
You just take Dougie, Hamilton and Pilot, you send them
to Ottawa and you bring Brady Kachuck back. Bing damn.
Just solid. There you go. Done? Easy? Is that I
should be a GM. I should got my phone's ringing,
My phone's ringing. Boys, it's the Devil's you fired, Fitz,
you did. Oh, I'll be there tomorrow.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
Well here's here's here's a question for you, because if
you want something like that to happen, obviously you're not
gonna do it for Dougie.

Speaker 4 (49:38):
And well they're not gonna do that.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
But you know another name.

Speaker 3 (49:43):
That's been floated out there as teams are very interested
in would be our buddy Dawson Mercer.

Speaker 2 (49:52):
Yeah, so is that someone that you would be? I mean,
those seem to be the.

Speaker 3 (49:58):
Three big names on the block for the Devil's this year,
obviously Dougie and Pilot, but it seems like a lot
of teams are inquiring about Dawson Mercer as well.

Speaker 4 (50:05):
Yeah, but what return are you gonna get for Mercer?
And and and not not for nothing? I mean, like
Mercer has played himself.

Speaker 2 (50:12):
I think it would be.

Speaker 3 (50:15):
I think it would be like if you're gonna do
a trade and an Allah you know, Brady trade or
a Quinn trade or something like that, I think Mercer
would be one of the names, you know, included in
that package they're gonna ask for Casey and Nemets.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
But you know, I don't think that's ever gonna happen.

Speaker 3 (50:31):
Dacer probably, you know, you could do you probably like
a first round pick Dawson Mercer and a Dougie for
Quinn Hughes.

Speaker 4 (50:44):
Yeah, you got a lot of people laugh right in
your face about that one, Bud. I mean, I think
that's good. I don't know, because I don't know what
the I don't know what the fair these trade like proposals.
Sometimes you look at it and you're like, yeah, that
seems good, that makes sense. I like it, and then
somebody's like, moron, they would never do that.

Speaker 1 (51:04):
Well.

Speaker 3 (51:04):
I mean, I mean I've seen some Ducks fans think
they're getting like three or four first round picks plus
like half of the team, you know, for Quinn Hughes.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
This is like, nah, no, no, they don't have I think.

Speaker 3 (51:15):
That's I think that's a pro No, that's a pretty
fair starting point, you know, Dawson first round pick and
Dougie for Quinn. And then I don't know, maybe maybe
Vancouver can throw you know, a draft pick our way,
maybe we can throw a different another player their way
in that sense. You know, I'm not sure, but I
think that's a damn good starting point right there.

Speaker 2 (51:40):
I mean, I don't know, that's just me. I've seen
some of the other trader.

Speaker 3 (51:43):
Polls out there that are just absolutely ridiculous, and I'm like, no,
we're not trading like Casey Dawson, Mercer or someone else
in two first round picks for Quinn Hughes when he's
going to be a free agent in a year.

Speaker 2 (51:53):
You know, it's like no, we're not doing that, you.

Speaker 6 (51:59):
Know, And that's that's what Sam says. That's to our
advantages that Vancouver doesn't have the leverage, you know, that's
we would have all the leverage in any kind of
a trade, so we wouldn't have to give up.

Speaker 1 (52:10):
Like wait two years.

Speaker 7 (52:12):
That's that's that's why I wouldn't.

Speaker 3 (52:17):
That's why I'm like, that's what I think would be
a fair trade, and that's where I'm going to go
with it. And other than that, kiss off, trade him
somewhere else and then we'll sign him when he's a
free agent, you know, like.

Speaker 2 (52:27):
It's not that's just the way he's going to be.

Speaker 6 (52:30):
But at the same time, for Vancouver, they want to
get something for him with and not lose him for
nothing too. But they could also be looking They could
also be looking at it as like, well, we have
two years to trade him, like if he's if he's
definitely set and has told him that he doesn't want
to resign there, then then they can look at it like,
all right, well we have two years to find the
right deal for him.

Speaker 7 (52:50):
You know, they don't trade him right away.

Speaker 3 (52:54):
If I was Vancouver, like I wouldn't even be looking
at the Devils for that very reason, because it's just like, yeah, no,
we'll just sign him because he's already said he wants
to come play with his brothers.

Speaker 2 (53:08):
I'll shoot. We just locked up Luke for the Nate
next eight years.

Speaker 1 (53:11):
Oh oh damn.

Speaker 4 (53:16):
What a no move and a no trade clause attached
to it?

Speaker 1 (53:20):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (53:21):
Nuts.

Speaker 7 (53:21):
The only thing you.

Speaker 3 (53:22):
Would have to worry about though, if they like somehow
group up and they're like, hey, let's all move to
you know, southern California here and go play for the Ducks.
You know, like I'll sign a one year deal, then
I'll leave, and then Quinn signs.

Speaker 2 (53:35):
The next year.

Speaker 3 (53:37):
Yeah yeah, and then you know Jack just starts demanding
a trade after a while.

Speaker 2 (53:40):
That that would be the nightmare scenario, right.

Speaker 7 (53:43):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that would be there isn't there anymore
so Jack.

Speaker 4 (53:51):
He's in Philly? Uh yeah, it would be. That would
be like the Cobal truck and Nita Meyer situation all
wrapped up in one and Perez just like faulted on top.

Speaker 1 (54:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:01):
So let's hope that doesn't happen, and we locked up
Blue for about eight years and then there's no there's
no issue at all Quinn is if we lock up Luke.

Speaker 2 (54:11):
Guess what, Quinn's on his way in two years, no
matter what.

Speaker 3 (54:15):
If he gets here before that, fantastic, but not at
selling the whole freaking farm or half the.

Speaker 7 (54:21):
Team, no way.

Speaker 4 (54:27):
Yeah, well, you know that's why we get paid the
note bucks and they get paid the buck.

Speaker 2 (54:36):
Sorry, I don't know about you, but I get paid
in WU bucks.

Speaker 4 (54:39):
All right.

Speaker 2 (54:45):
I think it's on crypto now too, right Sam, if I'm.

Speaker 4 (54:48):
Not mis coy And and Dubs Dug's been pointing out
that the fact that Devils were terrible five on FI
last year, and I agree with that, and I'm hoping
that the addition of Connor Brown kind of changes the
bottom six. The bottom six was absolute. Dad and Off

(55:10):
will be nice and you can like move that's.

Speaker 3 (55:11):
A nice or a million Yeah, for only a million
bucks too, it's just like, wow, that's you can.

Speaker 4 (55:18):
Move around wing and Dad Knov's got a nastiness to
him too, Like that's what I like to he. Yeah,
he doesn't mess around. We'll boys still be there. Cody
coming back. You know you're gonna have grits. You probably
breaking into this lineup. Don't know exactly where he's gonna

(55:39):
be playing, but then you you know, Stephan Nason might
be moving up and down or whatever. H Dawson mercer
as well, if he's if he's still on the team,
like we were just talking about, he's another one that
you can move, you know, up and down. So I
think the Devils are looking pretty good on the forward.
I think people are just they still need to get
a top six winger. It would be nice, would be nice.

(56:01):
I know that's a big ask. It's a big ask.

Speaker 7 (56:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (56:05):
You unless you get rid of both Palot and Dougie,
then you're not getting a top six winner because FITZI
has said the next deal he signs is Luke Ques
So yeah.

Speaker 1 (56:15):
I know.

Speaker 3 (56:16):
Uh, Like, like we were talking about this, there's probably
eight million right there. But don't you know, just don't
I think Grits, you won't won't turn out.

Speaker 2 (56:29):
Like like Haltzy.

Speaker 3 (56:30):
I think I think we might have something a little
bit different there with him than we had with Haltzy,
especially because Gritz Yuke has been playing in the KHL
as well.

Speaker 4 (56:39):
Yeah. Well, hey, uh we are about that time voice
where I think it's time to throw out the old
final thoughts and I'm just gonna jump right into the
deep end. I'm gonna just jump in and say it.
First thing, on a serious note, anybody that was affected
by the floods that have recently happened in New Jersey,
you know, make sure you're you're you're safe out there.

(57:00):
And if you're in your house and you're cleaning it up,
make sure you contact somebody that knows what they're doing
and get that stuff taken out of there. You don't
want to be living with any of that sludge or
any of that crud in your home. You know. I'm
speaking from experience going through that a few times in life.
So make sure you look out for your loved ones.

(57:21):
Make sure if you know, if anybody you know is
going through it, see if what you can do, lend
a hand, get them out of that house as soon
as possible. And on a lighter note, I can't tell
you guys, because I haven't been here in a couple
of weeks. I am so pumped that don La Greca.
I listen, Bill, I love you, I love you, and
I'm Spalding. I'm gonna miss him dearly because he did

(57:43):
an amazing job for the last three years. You know,
he had big shoes to fill in. But I am
a huge Don Logreca fan, listen to the ESPN radio
all the time, so I think this dude's gonna bring
it to the to the broadcast. It's gonna be fun
to listen to. And maybe we'll try and get them
on the old pod, but we'll have to go and

(58:03):
see how that works out. But anyways, that's my final thought.

Speaker 6 (58:13):
My final thought is I'm looking trying to figure out
the schedule, and it's it's fun to try to plan
out some trips and I think this is the perfect
time we here to do that, and that's it's it's
it's good to have the schedule and have something to
look forward to, even though I hate rushing the summer.
You're Baron, I'm sure you can attest to that as well,

(58:33):
but yeah, but yeah, it's it's kind of fun to
look ahead and see what kind of trips.

Speaker 7 (58:38):
We can plan.

Speaker 6 (58:38):
So hoping to have those conversations a little bit more
as the summer progresses.

Speaker 3 (58:45):
Yeah, and my final thought will be I apologize Max
for putting that scenario off Anaheim getting all He's brother's.

Speaker 2 (58:53):
Out in the air. I retract that. I retract that statement.

Speaker 6 (59:00):
That that'll be the next thing on Reddity.

Speaker 7 (59:05):
Yeah, the Devil's guys trying to get the Huge brothers out.
They don't like it, that'll be.

Speaker 4 (59:11):
Next Yeah, and to them, we'd say suck.

Speaker 7 (59:17):
It, Sammy, I have really nothing to say.

Speaker 4 (59:25):
Wow, summer first, he's still cruise mode. Yeah, I'm still
still in the cruise mentally. You're still in the cruise man.

Speaker 1 (59:32):
Yeah, I still have like that. I feel like I'm
in the high season.

Speaker 4 (59:37):
Yeah. It took me about like three four days to
get over that too. Yeah, that's the fun. That's a
fun feeling.

Speaker 1 (59:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (59:43):
Sam keeps walking into the kitchen and expecting a buffet
to be there, and he's just like.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Crab eggs.

Speaker 1 (59:52):
It sucks to have to cook too.

Speaker 4 (59:54):
Oh dude, it sucks.

Speaker 7 (59:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (59:57):
Did they did they have catfish on on the buffet?
Sam Wu? You know you're a big fan of the catfish.

Speaker 6 (01:00:04):
They had every other fish cod, gross, throw it away,
crash it all.

Speaker 1 (01:00:13):
Yeah they Yeah it was good. I took pictures. I'll
send it to you. Guys.

Speaker 3 (01:00:18):
My two favorite Sam Wu foods catfish and crab rangoon.

Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
They didn't have tailor ham though.

Speaker 2 (01:00:27):
I'm like, let missus Wu just pick out your food
from now on, all right. Yeah, no, they didn't have
any for you. No, no breakfast surprise over there.

Speaker 1 (01:00:43):
Well I had steak and eggs on the last okay,
the ham, their ham was good, all right. I had
ham in the morning with eggs. Sausage, yeah, ham and eggs. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:00:59):
Oh and so ostage too, okay, all right, man packing
in the pork? Was it turkey sausage?

Speaker 1 (01:01:07):
No?

Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
No, absolutely, who has sausage?

Speaker 2 (01:01:15):
There was nothing healthy on this cruise, scatty, all right.

Speaker 1 (01:01:20):
But somehow I lost three pounds on this cruise.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
And even if there was, damn sure, it wasn't eating it.

Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Give me the pork.

Speaker 2 (01:01:32):
That's why they make those that's why.

Speaker 7 (01:01:34):
Oh there we go.

Speaker 2 (01:01:35):
That's why they make those CUFE lines. So you have
to still walk around a little bit.

Speaker 1 (01:01:38):
You gotta work a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:01:39):
That off, we should forth to the soft served ice
cream machine.

Speaker 4 (01:01:45):
I don't like the ice cream on a cruise. It's
like not it's not dairy based. It's like that weird
consistency you know I'm talking about.

Speaker 7 (01:01:52):
Well, I've never been on a cruise.

Speaker 2 (01:01:57):
I've never been on a cruise either.

Speaker 4 (01:01:58):
Tell you it's so fun. What should do a podcast
on cruise. That'd be a wildly amazing just getting hammered,
Go down to the casino, go to the buffets, good
time to.

Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
It time alrighty well, I want to thank all those
tuning in, welcome back, some MOO reports, midweek, stay in
the fan address, and much much more. Dropping the podcast
at midnight. Until next time, Let's go Devils.
