now via our website and here he is legendary David's name.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
A very good afternoon. Join us in a comments section.
Danny and Robbie, good afternoon to Hi Sylvia and John Alex.
Thanks John, great show. Yeah, I was out on the
motorbike this morning. It's a bit fresh out there at
the moment. A beautiful sunny day. The sun is warm
if you can get out of the wind is a
bit strong. That wind still, we had terrible wind there
last few days, very very strong wind. Not good for

(01:55):
on the motorbikes. Hopefully it's going to be diying down
a little bit for the weekend. It's supposed to be
nice weather the weekend. Let's know what you're doing in
the comment section. Comment section has rebooted, so come and
say highest afternoon. Well, I was reading an article the
other day on Well actual she's on the television here
about spiders and creepy Crawley's in Spain. Did you know
that we get the European black widow spider here in Spain.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Apparently it's quite a deadly spider as well. It's venom
is a very poisonous and it's mostly found in the
dry inland areas of southern Spain. So yeah, the black
widow spider. It's a variation of the American spider, so
watch out for that one. It looks the same it's
got the same poison, and yeah, it's here in al Maria.

(02:40):
I've seen a few snakes here and some scorpions. I
must admit. About a couple of years ago, I was
cleaning out around the back of my garden shed and
there was about a three foot long snake there. I
think they called larva snakes here. Apparently they're not that venomous.
It's like a beasting or something if you get bitten
by one of them, same as these square opions. All

(03:00):
we do get scorpions here, and I've seen quite a
few of them actually when I've been working in land,
especially around the Tabernas area. If you're familiar with the
Mini Hollywood area, it's very dry and barren up there,
and in the summer you gets some up there, some
little yellow ones. They're not very big at all. But yeah,
we do get some weird bugs and beasties here, so
they need to watch out for that. Talking about that,

(03:22):
I was on the motorbike early a little while ago
and I was up on the hills behind al Maria
and saw quite a lot of deer just walking across
the road. Absolutely amazing sight here and literally only about
forty five minutes from the beach. I know we get
the wild boar here as well, but quite a variation.
But those black widow spiders are I don't think I

(03:43):
would want to meet one of them. Let's know what
your phobias are in Spain, Billy Eilish there and birds
of a feather. Yeah, I'm not too keen on creepy carders.
I think I'm more afraid of the snakes and the spiders.
I don't like snakes at all here, but thankfully we
don't get many of them. Last year I did have

(04:04):
five chameleons in my garden, which is quite unusual, but
the last couple of years have been getting them a
fairly regular basis as well, because I read up on
it and in aln Morio forty years ago they did
release it was about sixty or seventy pairs of chameleons,
god knows why into the environment here in al Moria,

(04:25):
just as a bit of an experiment and they took
off big time. Don't know where they go, but they
come back every year and quite a nice sight to
see as well. And some of them are quite big,
very very friendly. You can pick them up and they
just stroll across the garden. Very nice to see. I've
got some videos i'll put out on my YouTube channel
last year with them, and yeah they're quite pleasant, creepy

(04:47):
caulies if you like. But the snakes and spiders know you.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Can keep them.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Okay. So the petrol in Spain has gone up yet again.
That is seven weeks in a row. It's gone up now.
I don't know if you've noticed it, but it's a
and one sixty elita now for petro here. So yeah,
that's gone up. It was a little while ago. He
was talking about before Christmas it was one forty so
now that's twenty p elita more expensive. We're paying around

(05:11):
one sixty where we are. What are you paying where
you are? Have you noticed it's gone up seven weeks
in a row they're talking about this now it's gone
up and no sign of it's slowing down either. So
there you go. Okay, a bit of Lady Gaga now
and Bruno Mars. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
There David Wright Health and Advice for Living and Working
in Spain. You're listening to the Right Way, the Right
Way with David Wright.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
It's Friday, It's Friday and that Friday feeling getting you
into the mood for the weekend.

Speaker 3 (05:49):
Okay, So I've got a live guest on my show
right after this. He's a financial advisor and expert, and
it's going to give you some great tips and advice.
So if you've got any questions that lined up, as
Williams would be with us right after this.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Live David Race, David David, David David the Afternoon Show.

Speaker 3 (06:12):
Okay, so we got a live guest in the show today.
We've got Josh Williams. Hijosh, can you hear me?

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Okay, I can hear you perfectly, David to be here.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
Okay. So Josh, you're a financial expert and you give
people tips and advice on investments in Spain. Josh, I
was saying a little bit earlier before we went on
there about this. You know the banks in Spain, A
lot of people when they move over to Spain, they've
transferred the money from a house sell maybe or their
savings and they put this big lump sum in the bank.

(06:43):
I know I did when we first moved here. Now
the banks are offering I read on the other day
on the TV here. It's point not five percent five
percent on larger incomes, So that's really bad interest rates
in it. There's got to be other ways that we
can invest the money or make your money work for
you here in Spain. So Josh, can you give you

(07:04):
some tips for that?

Speaker 2 (07:06):
Yeah, for sure. I mean, as you mentioned David, there
are some options available in Spain where you can achieve
a little bit of growth on your money. But if
that money is held in cash, typically looking at very
low rates of return, you averaging around zero point five
to one percent. Anything above that typically would be looking

(07:29):
at putting money away for a certain amount of time
six to twelve months in a fixed return account or
an invested account with a Spanish bank. So there are
other opportunities available. I know with my bank, I thank
with CBBA here in here in Spain, and I'm getting
rolled below one percent, So you know, it does depend

(07:51):
on individual circumstances, requirements access. The typical advice would be
the whole short term cash in any Spanish bank account
or even a UK bank account, and look to invest
any feed into long term fun again according to individual circumstances.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
Yeah, now, Josh, you know I've got a question from
Sylvia in a comments section. I would like to know
what is the best savings account for high interest rates?
And is that just for those who have their residency here?

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah? High feel a good good question. So accessing individual
accounts of different accounts does depend on where you may
be residents. So if you're not resident in Spain, then
access in Spanish bank accounts may be difficult. There are

(08:47):
overseeding accounts which may be accessible from where you are resident.
The maximum you be looking at in terms of achieving
a high rate of return with access would be a
UK linked account or a UK territory account such as

(09:09):
Guernsey or Jersey. We can potentially achieve a four to
four and a half tent return that's based on the
Bank of England base rate. In Spain, you wouldn't be
looking at anywhere near that.

Speaker 3 (09:23):
Yeah, okay, brilliant, Okay, Yeah. So we'll be back with
Josh right after this. Josh, I'm going to play this one.
This is one of your favorites. I believe a bit
of Santana. So we've got Josh Williams, the consultation expert
Visa X sorry, Visa expert, tax expert and financial wealth manager.

(09:47):
So Josh, we're talking about other options for people with
money to invest here in Spain. So just give us
a couple of little options. What other options are there
for getting a better return on your money here in Spain.

Speaker 2 (09:59):
Yeah, good, good question, David. This again does depend on
individual circumstances and with a client. People require capital, growth, income,
a potential move back to the UK and how that
would affect anything to pass the family members. So a
well fulltile plan is advisable, but the whole medium to

(10:22):
long term capital I would advise people to look at
investing via a flexible investment plan that is specifically designed
for British people living in Spain. These options can provide
a higher interest rate in UK and Spanish bank yet
do not require capital to be locked away or take

(10:42):
too much risk at the same time to provide multiple
tax benefits too, so it's always good to seek a
Spanish based professional advisor has a non agent experience in
the and in particular dealing with British nationals in Spain,
which is something we really focus on.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
Yeah, Josh, is there a minimum amount of money people
can invest to test the waters first of all without
commit into all their savings?

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Is a minimum amount for sure? There is a dinerent amount.
This does depend on which route may be taken, and
there are options for everyone reten in plain knots to
invest via a standalone online training account. Even sort of

(11:29):
platforms such as Resolute these days and why have investment
options and these very low minimums that's around one hundred
pounds or euros. But this typically doesn't require an individual
to know what they're doing. It effectively, they'll be stop picking. However,
where advice is required on which type of vehicle may

(11:49):
be appropriate and which investment style is suitable could be
held within that vehicle, then the minimums are typically twenty
five thousand pounds or euros and above, and then more
applicable structures are available out of the investment amount increasing.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Yeah, okay, brilliant, Okay, we'll be back with Josh after this. Okay,
there was a bit of hot chocolate there, and we've
got Josh Williams live in a studio, the financial expert
giving you some tips and advice on your money and
your investments. So, Josh, we covered the belt, you know,

(12:26):
investments and stuff a little bit. So what what is
the popular things at a moment of people are investing
in their money to get a better rate of interest here.

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Yeah, there's a a it's an interesting question. There's there's
lots of talk height around or surrounding cryptocurrency right now.
I think everybody likes a slice of that pie. But
it's it's funny that people you know, look to these
things have been uh when they're flying, and then you

(12:56):
know there's a drop off for a downturn and performance
and wants to look into it. So that's something interesting,
but maybe anversation for another time. We focus on traditional
investment styles and personalized investment plans. It does depend on
the client's risk approach or propital sort of capital appreciation

(13:21):
needs as well. Part gif you an example, some clients
would forget ten percent per year capital growth, which would
require a fairly high risk approach. However, when we measure
risk that it's based on an individual's tolerance to volatility
or the ups and downs that they can cope with.
If they can tolerate big peaks and troughs, then over

(13:44):
a longer time flame these types of IDIO returns are achievable. However,
if someone does not like these these ups and downs,
then they would have a lower risk approach, which would
adapt the investment style and ongoing management, in turn providing
a lower yet stable return. The majority of our clients,
for an example, are forcious investors and therefore receiving in

(14:08):
between five and six percent per year, and it's a
lot more achievable with that smooth of a turn rather
than ups and downs that that people may not require.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
Yeah, so yeah, I mean that sounds like a thing
that I would be interested in more of what I
would recall a sensible approach. But you know, is there
a timescale on this? If you've got to tie your
money up for a set amount of time years, months,
or how does that work?

Speaker 2 (14:37):
Yeah? I mean some quidents asked that they cannot access
their once because they would like to have that they
don't have that discipline. Potentially, some clients like to have
the power to withdraw. So again, it does depend on
the type of investments and its features, the fees, early

(14:57):
withdrawal penalties. This should all be under stood and determined
before setting anything up. Typically, people should be looking at
an investment time frame of five years plus to really
allow their money to work for them. However, we understand
that life changes, Cars breakdown, you know, homes need renovating.

(15:18):
So our solutions allow for access if required that can
be via a regular income ad hoc cultural without early
penalties for doing so. Yeah. So yeah, brilliant.

Speaker 3 (15:31):
Okay. So, as always always say people should get expert
help and advice on things like this, and Josh, I
believe you give free consultations to my listeners. Is that correct?

Speaker 2 (15:43):
That is correct? Yes, So a free non obligation consultation
is available with myself for your listeners where we can
run through exactly or a listener or what an individual
may be looking for and how we can potentially help
with their with their requirements.

Speaker 3 (16:04):
Brilliant. Okay, that's great. Well, thanks very much for joining
us on the show today, Josh, and I'll leave a
link in the description box and contact details if you
want to get a free consultation with Josh. Just mentioned
where you got the number from and he's the man
to give you some great advice. Thanks for joining us
on the show today, Josh.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Thanks, David, appreciate it. Have a great weekend.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
All the best here, mate, thanks for joining us.

Speaker 1 (16:25):
Cheers, cheers.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (16:31):
So that was Josh Williams, financial expert and a new
sponsor of my show. Josh is going to be giving
us some great tips in the next couple of weeks
on the shows. And if you've got any comments, you
just need to send them to me here at the station.
That's David at Almeria Radio dot live. David at al
Maria Radio dot live. And I can put your comments

(16:52):
direct to Josh. And remember give us it gives us
free consultation. So if you need tips with advice, speak
to Josh. He will sort you out with your finances
here in Spain. Okay, so where we going now's a
little bit so did you see on the news this
week that Spain has launched a satellite. This is a
communications satellite through the Elong Musk company SpaceX. Spain is

(17:16):
really pushing the satellites there of the coverage here in
Spain and they're going really high tech with lots of
new technology here in Spain. And al Maria has been
granted quite a few million on new train links here.
You've probably seen the road work's going on in and
around the al Maria area. Remember, still no more trains

(17:36):
in or out of al Maria for another year. They've
demolished the train station in Amorya, putting in new high
speed train links all the way down the south coast
of Spain. This should be great for al Maria area.
And they're spending millions on the infrastructure on the roads
and bridges in and around the al Maria area. If
you've driven in Almorea at the moment, you'll see a

(17:56):
bit of a chos going on and on the motorway
you're going down and past al Moria. On the motorway,
you'll see a lot of these roadworks and lane filtering
as they're extending the motorways and making them a bit
wider in certain areas. So that's all good news for
al Maria. Okay, So I've got more experts lined up
in the next coming weeks as well. The idea of

(18:17):
this is to give my listeners as much information and
value as possible all my shows, and a lot of
these experts have given up their time and offering free,
free tips and advice and free consultations to my listeners,
so do take advantage of that. And I've made some
videos as well with most of these experts. So if

(18:39):
you want to go and see who they are exactly
what they do, all you need to do is go
over to my information page that's David wrightonline dot com.
Information pages, loads of links there. You can see all
the books and all my books, podcasts, YouTube videos, everything.

did make a lot of mistakes, some of them quite expensive.
So I try and provide this info so others don't
make the mistakes that I made. So there you go,
So take advantage of these experts. They really will help you.
And heavy fuel. Okay, so a big thank you to

(19:23):
