You're listening to Living in Spain Podcasts with David Wright.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Hi, my name's David right, and welcome to another one
of my podcast and today I'm going to be talking
about electric bills and how you can save a lot
of money on your electric bills here in Spain. Okay,
so let's get on with it. December twenty twenty five,
that was my last bill and it was for sixty
six euros, so that doesn't tell you much really, but

(00:40):
let me give you a little bit of context on this.
I've got a new four bedroom house. I built it
myself about four years ago. The house is only four
or five years old now and we have got four bedrooms,
two bathrooms. The metridge of the house is four hundred
and thirty square meters. It's on an eight hundred square
meter plot. And I've got a workshop, garages, a gymnasium

(01:03):
and a swimming pool with a swim up pool bar
that sits completely independent, with fridges and freezers things like that.
So yeah, it's quite a decent sized house. I contract
five killer what hours from the electric company and I
am with Ganner Energy and here as they call it here,
I leave a link to this in the description box

(01:23):
and I paid sixty six euros last month. The month
before that it was seventy. It's gone down a little
bit and I've been paying under ninety euros for the
last year or so. Now, I think, you know, last
bill sixty six euros. That's around two euros a day.
I think that's pretty good for electricity for the size
of the house I've got. Now, some people say, you know,

(01:45):
it depends on the power how much you need. Well,
five killer what hours for a big house like mine
is more than enough. Nothing trips out, The house runs fine.
My neighbor has contracted seven and a half. He's got
quite a bit more power than me, but he's paying
two hunundred euros a month his electricity. Now it's pretty
much the same size house. He has a few extra

(02:06):
bits and pieces, but he's not with Ganner and A here.
He's with INDSA here, which is the worst company you
can be with. Here. They rip you off, left, right
and center, charge you for just about everything. I've had
lots of disputes with them over the years, and that's
why we changed a few years ago to Ganna here. Now,
I don't agree with some people when they say, oh,

(02:27):
It all depends on how much you contract. All I'm
worried about at the end of the day, and I
think all we are worried about at the end of
the day is how much is the blooming bill that
you have to pay? Now, sixty six euros is a
lot cheaper than most people I know that've got half
the sized property as I have. And it's no good saying, well,
one electrics better than the other. It's electricity. It's all
the bloom in same So you know, at the end

(02:48):
of the day, I don't care who the company is with.
All I'm worried about is have I got enough electric
to run all the appliances that I need. I don't
want it tripping hell and I've never had it trip olt.
And what is the bottom line? How much do I
have to pay at the end of the month. And
for me sixty six euros. I'm very very happy with that. Now,
Ganna and here do a discount service where they offer

(03:10):
you discount off your bill if you recommend to other people.
That's why I'm recommending it to you. I'll get a
slight discount. The last couple of bills I've had, I
haven't got any discount from it. That is the final bill.
Sixty six euros and eight cents was my last bill.
But if somebody joins up under my link, I'll give
you a link to that. In a minute, you'll get
twenty five euros off of your bill. So it is

(03:32):
worth doing. Is worth doing surning up with them or
at least getting them to give you a quote. Okay,
So the company has been around for a long time,
and all they do is like a phone companies. You know,
you have a phone line and the main fund company
where it's telephonic or whatever, and other companies buy the
telephone lines and the right to use the telephone line

(03:52):
and they charge you and you get the bills through them.
This is the same with the energy company gonna do
here have done the same thing, and they're off three
in what they call a plan amigos. This amigo's a
friends plan and I joined up with that and I'm
very very happy with it. So if you want cheap
electric here in Spain, don't give these people. I'll call.
I'll give you the number now. It's nine zero zero

(04:14):
five three five six eight nine, and you have to
quote my code which is six four five one two
v H zero T. I'll tell you that again six
' five one two v H zero T. And if
you quote that, and I'll use a telephone number which

(04:35):
I'll leave in a description box below, they will give
you a quote and they'll tell you roughly what you're
going to pay from your last electricity bill. So obviously
you don't go with you if you're going to pay more.
But I guarantee you these people are fantastic. My bills
are consistently the same. I will leave a link in
a description box below this podcast video whatever, so that

(04:57):
you can go and see the proof of my bills.
Of upload the bills there, you can see what I've
contracted and you can see pictures and videos of my house.
So I got an idea of how big ears and
go and get some cheap electric Hope that has helped,
if it has shared with some of your friends, Thanks
for listening.
