(00:00):
For another week of Outlaw, oftalking about magic, the gathering some of
our favorite games. Here this timenot muted because that just happened where where
we tried to go live and Ihad our I had our Twitch stream completely
muted. Who says outlaws and knowhow to use technology? Well, we're
here this week, of course,we're talking about Outlaws at thunder Junction,

(00:23):
the new magic set that's coming out. It's coming out this weekend. Pre
release is this weekend, and thereis a ton of stuff going into it.
I'm your host, Isaiah. That'sDragon Wrangler Jacob. He's lost his
master title for this, this oneis. At this point he is a
wrangler. We got our fancy hatsand we're ready. Need to talk about

(00:48):
the cowboys and Outlaws of thunder Junction. First of all, we got to
talk about the crew. The crew'smain leader, of course, is the
outlaw Oko. Now, Oko,give me just a second, the ring
Master. I'm moving a monitor soJacob can see it better. And if

(01:12):
you see me go into this,uh, this pseudo Western accent, it's
because I'm a I'm wearing a hat. You can't resist it when you're in
one of these heads. So we'vegot Oko, the ring leader. He
is the one that's brought this entirecrew together. He'll be the one that's

(01:34):
running things as they try to raidthe vault. Fantastic planes Walker four Man
of planes Walker. Beginning of combat. He turns into a creature, whichever
one you want on the board, you know, turn him into a coselect
guys, except for it can't beit can't be a legendary, has to
be a non legendary. If yousee Jacob looking down, he's pulling up
the cards on his phone so youcan read it better. So now here's

(01:57):
my question is specifies that it canbe a copy of any target creature,
right yep. So you could technicallyset this up where you could copy a
legendary if you had a way toget around the legendary really correct. Then
you can make as many copies asyou want. Now, of course,

(02:19):
i'd say copies copies of the creature, but his plus one. Draw two
cards. If you've committed a crimethis turned, discard a color card.
Otherwise, discard two cards. Sodraw two, discard two unless you've targeted
somebody Else's somebody else with a spellor they're permanence with a spell. That's
what's committing a crime. It's it'sthe new mechanic in this One of the
new mechanics in this set is committinga crime. So you've committed a crime

(02:44):
against somebody if you target their stuff, and you know how we deal with
criminals here in the West. Now, his negative one is an Oco classic.
What's Oka without a three three elk? Right now? If anybody remembers
the terror that was the original OcoThief of Crowns, you know, he

(03:06):
would turn your you would turn yourenemy's commander into an elk, or you'd
turn any card into an elk andthen trade it. It was nasty.
He's gotten a he's gotten a verymuch a downgrade since then. He's not
as good as a Thief of Crowns, but he's still decent. He's the
ringleader of this entire band of six. There was a discussion about whether this

(03:29):
was five or six six. Uh. We had that discussion this morning for
breakfast. The second second person that'sjoined the party is, of course Jase.
Now Jase here unlike where we've seenhim before in this one, he
disguised himself as Vraska, So breakingdown the lord. Yeah, he described

(03:53):
disguised himself as Vraska for this thiswhole vault thief, thievery, and then
of course his card he's two mana. But his special ability is what makes
it bad because normally this is justa two man of planes walker, which
is great. You know, youcan't cast the spell first, second,
or third turn of the game, but there is ways around that. There's

(04:16):
ways around that. So the biggestway around this is says your turn.
So if you got any way togive it, give it flash or any
way to cast spell so you know, Quicken or anything like that that lets
you cast stuff at instant speed, you could get him out significantly earlier.
Not that you'd completely want to.He's not He's a decent planeswalker for two

(04:36):
mana. It's not bad. Youknow you've got draw card, discard a
card for a plus one. Hisother plus one is you know, you
exile non land with MANA three orless, it becomes plotted. That is
the other mechanic of this set, which is plotting a card is you send
it to exile and you can castit for free on a later chirp,

(04:57):
and it has to be at sorceryspeed. We'll get into that later why
that's important. Honestly, he's notthe strongest planes walker. He is not
the strongest planes walker. And goodlord, do you want to take it
from here, because my camera isgoing nuts. As far as so with
with him, he's saying he's notthe most powerful planes balker. For one,

(05:19):
he's he has issues as far asnot being playing the first three turns
of the game, as well ashis abilities. They're okay, they're not
the best that we've ever seen. We've seen far better planes walkers, especially
when it comes to Jase. Jasehas some very good variants. We're looking

(05:40):
at you, mind sculptor, right. I mean, like I said,
you can plot it and cast aspell for six until end of turn.
Whenever you cast a spell, copyit. You may choose new targets for
that copy. So it just basicallyis gonna allow you to copy a spell,

(06:01):
yeah, and a bunch of spellsyou set. It's a setup for
a large churn if you can doit right. If not, it's gonna
fizzle it. Honestly, I don'tthink this planeswalker has it. I think
they made a very good move inthis set of only printing two planes Walkers,
and that's what they're doing going forward. Yes, that they saw that,
they went overboard with all the planeswalkers and went, let's real it

(06:25):
back a bit, one to twoplanes walkers per set, as well as
they did a really good job asfar as story wise on removing the planes
walkers, because when it came tothe story, I mean, I don't
even know how many planes walkers theyhad, but up until this point story
wise, they decided, okay, most of these planes washed planes walkers lost

(06:47):
their spark. They are not planeswalkers, which is a brilliant way of
doing things. And we'll get tothat when we talk about the story.
We're still going through the cards.Of course. The next person that joined
up with the party up with Chase, it's Rasca. Rasca the Silencer now

(07:08):
death Touch. She is not aplanes walker. She's always been a planeswalker
before. She is one of theones that lost her spark. Legendary Gorgon
assassin for three mana death Touch.Whenever a non token creature and opponent controls
that, you can pay one andturn it into a treasure. Now,
this is a good way to stealstuff that you don't want in your opponent's
graveyard because you can just take thattreasure and you can just hold on to

(07:31):
it. I mean, sure,it's a mana. This is essentially a
man of storage ability, But Ithink the bigger thing is that you can
It doesn't create a copy you takethe card, which means they can't pull
it from their graveyard later. Yeah, which not only that, but like
you were saying, yes, it'stechnically a man of storage. But even

(07:54):
then, mana having additional manna thatother people don't have is beneficial. Plus
it counts towards artifact. Yeah,so it can count towards your artifact total
and your non token total. Sothis can cause a lot of This can
be very interesting if you build itright. If you don't build it right,
well, i'm sorry, you're outof luck. Yeah, it's not

(08:16):
that useful at that point. Thenext person that joined up with the party
is, of course Annie, AnnieFlash veteran. Give me just a second
while I fix well, I fixJake. So talk about any Flash real

(08:37):
quick while I get you fixed.Okay, any Flash creature with Flash legendary
creature, human rogue, which makeshim I think an outlaw. He considers
him an outlaw. Her an outlaw. Yeah, I'll check any joins up

(08:58):
card she has flash. When AnnieFlash the veteran enters the battlefield, if
you cast it, return target permanentcard with manic value three or less from
your graveyard to the battlefield tapped aphenomenon. Return stuff from the graveyard is
always great. Yep, easy,a cheap manner return in Naya. I

(09:22):
mean I don't when you exil twocards from your library, so you get
a bunch of impulse draw whenever shebecomes tapped. Not attacking, just tapped,
and you're in green red with greenred and white, which means giving
your stuff a tap ability is prettyeasy. So any flash, any any
flash, being the veteran, veteranand having flash, that's a good that's

(09:45):
a good ability on a commander, especially legendary creature. You know you can
pull it on anybody's turn. Butoverall, I think she's kind of me.
She's not gonna see a lot ofplay anywhere. She We're gonna see
some interesting commander build out of her, but I don't think we're gonna see
play the next one got. Butyou also got to look at her second
ability. Yeah, her second abilityis what makes her good in things like

(10:07):
Commander will not see her in modern. We won't see her in we might
see her in standard with some nicheniche builds yeah, Commander, with Commander
being able to play the two cardsfrom your library great, I mean legitimately,
whenever any flash becomes targeted, exilethe top two cards of your library.

(10:31):
You may play those cards this turn. Yeah. But that impulse draw
is everywhere in red now yeah, which means like it's a good ability for
Canada to off pulse drop, butyou have to cast it if you hit
something that you don't like. Thegood news is it specifies play not cast,
which does mean if you nail aland, you can play your land.

(10:56):
The Dragon the second, the Second. The last person to join up
is Kellen. Kellen has been themain character of the last few sets.
Uh. He's a fairy rogue fromel Draine and he's been chasing down his
father Oko because he found out hewas half fairy. He wants to know
more about his past, so hehas been chasing down Oko. Bant legendary

(11:22):
creature, human fairy rogue flying lifelinkthree to three. Whenever you cast a
spell from anywhere other than your hand, you may cast a permanent spell with
equal or lesser value from your handwithout paying its manecost. Okay, now
I see where they're going with this. What I don't see. What I
also see is how dangerous of anability this is going to be. Now

(11:48):
you are in blue, which meansyou are in the car draw King of
Colors. You were in white, the freebie King of Colors. You are
in green. You have all themanna you ever need now usually yeah,
what it's going for is hey plot. When you plot cards, you get

(12:11):
to cast other free stuff. Whatthey don't realize is you're in green.
You have things like silvala stampede.I don't think that casts, but you
have some big haymakers that you cancast. You just have to figure out
how to get them out of yourhand, how to cast them from the
graveyard, how to cast them fromexile, Yeah, how to cast them
from the you're in green, whiteblue. Guess what else you have?
Cast from the top of the deck. Or you want to take it even

(12:33):
further and be very rude, castit from your opponent's library. Casting your
opponent stuff because it doesn't care aboutit doesn't care about whose card it is,
only that you're casting it. Right, I didn't even think about taking
from an opponent's library. That isa huge fact. Opponent's library graveyard.

(12:54):
Hey sometimes I know if I remember, there's some cards that you exile somebody's
card and cast it onto your battlefield. Those are you still casting red so
but things like but you have thingsin this blue color color combination like mine's

(13:15):
dilation that whenever they cast the spell, you get a take from the top
and cast it. You've got yougot so many options here that it's like
it's not gonna be hard to makea fun commander deck. I'm already brewing
some Kellen the Kid stuff. Infact, we'll probably when this video goes
live on when we get it overto YouTube. In the description, I
will have an architect to a Kellenthe Kid deck and it'll be plot.

(13:41):
It'll be playing this ability as awhole. Now, there was one other
person that shows up that is apart of this crew, that would be
Tiny Bones Tiny Bones Pit Pocket, one black legendary death touch creature. Whenever
it deals combat damage to a player, you may cast target online permanent card

(14:01):
from that player's graveyard, and manof any type can be spent to cast
that spell. Legitimately you. Yeah, I'm just gonna steal that. I
don't care that it's red, green, white, blue, It's mine and
I'm gonna cast it. Yeah.So I think he's gonna We're not gonna
see him as a commander. Idon't think we're gonna see him in the
ninety nine in and that's because he'sgonna be playing in mill formats mill decks,

(14:26):
Oh definitely. And one reason we'regonna see that. You don't want
to block him. He has deathtouch. Yeah, so you don't want
to block him with anything major thatyou can use, So you're probably gonna
let him through most of the timeand they just get to steal something from
your graveyard. And that that alsodepends because he is a one one.

(14:46):
He is a one one, Sopeople could just oh, I have a
token, I'm gonna block him andkill him. Yep. Token decks.
Death touch doesn't do anything. Imean, it's a throwaway creature. But
when it once you bolster him upand give him trample, then yeah,
you're gonna want to do something justbecause I mean, you you have a

(15:13):
what ten ten coming at you,You're not gonna you're gonna block it.
You don't want to block it,and you're like, you're gonna have to
block it. Yeah, you'll haveto block it, but you don't want
to. But there there's also evasionthat you can put on him. So,
like I said, we're gonna seethis in mill formats, uh decks
that like to have like to putstuff into the opponent's graveyard, give their

(15:35):
self evasion and hit. Yeah,so give him flying, give him unblockable.
That kind of thing will probably seemin a lot of black blue decks
because Blue is really good at givingevasion. M hm. You could also
see him in black green. BlackGreen will say that to give him bolster
them up, give him trample. We'll see, We'll see him Insultai.

(15:56):
He's must include in Sulti Black GreenBlue. These guys were great, but
we also got to talk about becausethere are some reprints in this set,
we're gonna talk about ourselves. ATerror of the Peaks and a where is
It? And then the other oneis Archangel of Tithes. Did I not

(16:18):
pull the Archangel of Tithes in?I did not. I've got to find
it too. Sorry. Wow,we were not as ready as I wanted
to be with this Archangel sets herewe go there it is, so these
are the notable reprints. Like theywent very minimalistic on the reprints, which

(16:41):
is good. I fully agree withbeing minimalistic on reprints. We don't want
too many, especially when they're doingthe the mystical archive style stuff like the
big heist. So Terror of thePeaks five, four Dragon with flying we
all know can't target unless they havethree and it deals a ton of damage

(17:06):
to any target when creatures enter thebattlefield under your control. Right, great
red card, fantastic creature, Terrorof the Peaks, great Dragon decks,
great and so many things great inany Red deck really because you're like,
yeah, I create a bunch ofcreatures, I deal a bunch of damage.
And then of course the other onebeing Archangel of Tithes, which is

(17:26):
you know, creatures can't attack youunless they're paid, unless their controller pays
one for each of those creatures. So defense, Yeah, I mean,
go ahead, attack me. Yougotta pay for that though. Yeah.
Picking these as your big, bigreprints, I think that's something that getting
rid of so many planeswalkers does isit opens up these mythic slots. Four

(17:51):
big reprints like this four cards thatdesperately need the reprint, Like I can't
remember last I think Terror of thePeaks didn't need a reprint as bad as
Archangel of Tithes. Oh yeah. And not only that, but this set
makes it really good because as faras I as far as the how am
I trying to put the flavor onthis set? Archangel at ties is your

(18:15):
tax man, He's your taxman.I love Also the art. The art
for Archangel is beautiful. Like I'mI'm pulling it up bigger right now to
show everybody. But it's it's literallyan angel with a gun. What's more
American than that? They made theideal American set. Now now he talked

(18:37):
about the he talked about the flavorof this set. I mean, the
flavor of this set is phenomenal. It is hilarious. You go a full
Western. So I just pulled upShoot the Sheriff, which is a great
card. First of all, greatkill spell. You know, destroy target,

(18:59):
non land, non outlaw creatures. So you can't hit Assassin's Merson,
these pirates, ropes or warlocks, right, but you hit everything else.
For what would be even better isat some of these events when somebody plays
shoot the Sheriff. Give it asignal or something. When somebody shoot plays
shoot the Sheriff, you play,I shot the Sheriff. There's so much

(19:23):
use to do. The flavor ofthe set is beautiful. If you take
a look through this set, there'sso many cars in here. We don't
have the time to just pull themall up, but there are so many
cars in this set that are likeshoot the Sheriff high Noon. In fact,
I'll be pulling up high Noon aswell. I'm trying to see where
it's it. I had it atone point high Noon. Another one of

(19:52):
those great like flavor stuff. Youknow, the player can't cast more than
one spell each turn. It's adual one spell of everyone. It's one
shot, pay five sacket, dealfive damage to it to any target,
right, I mean it's legitimately aduel at high noon. Uh one spell
each. I can sack it todeal some damage. Also five mana to

(20:18):
deal five damage. So you couldlike this could be a game ending thing,
or it can be a great removal'sspelled a little expensive, but for
those control players and standard m beautiful. Now some of the other stuff in
this set, some of the cardswe have when you look at stuff like
high Noon. When you look atthat, I mean, yeah, it
says it's five man, but whathappens when you plot it, Well,

(20:42):
that's an ability, that's not aThe high Noon itself is only two men.
Oh I didn't see that. Ihaven't. I haven't been able to
find it yet. Yeah. Sothere's some other cards in this set we
want to talk about, Like wewanted to take one from every color and
talk about it and then just justa fun of our uh, some of
our favorites here as well. SoCostic Bronco, whenever it attax reveal the

(21:06):
top card of your library, youlose life equal to its manecost and then
put it into your hand. Andthat's bring And the reason I brought Costic
Bronco into this is because it introducesthe other big mechanic in the set,
which is saddle. So you cantap any other creatures you control with power
total power equal to the saddle value, and the mount becomes saddled, which

(21:27):
means you get the additional ability. So if the Costic Bronco is saddled when
you attack, your opponent loses lifeequal to the power of that card equal
to the man of value of thatcard. Sorry, and then you've got
double down, which also flavor doubledown. You know you're doubling down on
whatever crime you're committing. The bestalibi is being in multiple places at the

(21:51):
same time. I love the flavor. I love the flavor text, right,
it's great. I mean, you'regonna if you're going to be in
two places at once. This isa This is a similar to the Vesuvian
duplicity. Whenever you cast an Outlawsspell, copy that spell. So whenever
you cast assassins, mercenaries, pirates, rogues, warlocks. It's good.

(22:15):
It's like, you know, theassassins and rogues that are pretty good,
and like this can go into ferrydecks. There's so many places. This
can fit anywhere you're trying to playrogues, trying to play Outlaws in general.
And then, of course the lastone is the railway. The next
one we're gonna talk about is therailway brawler. Five MANA five mana reach

(22:41):
trample for a Rhino warrior. Wheneveranother creature enters the battlefield under your control,
double its power. Essentially, putx one one counters on to it
when where x is its power.Double the creature's power of everything that enters
the board under your control, plusit has plocked. Oh can we put

(23:03):
this in my token deck? Imean it would work for tokens, but
I think there's better places for it. Yeah, but my token deck goes
pretty nuts. I would really loveto have one hundred and thirty. He
now was our white card that wewere going to talk about. So the

(23:23):
the red one we're gonna talk aboutis Magda the hord Master. Now people
have been talking about this one becauseit's it's actually really good. Whatever you
commit a crime, create a treasuretoken, tapped sacrifice, three treasures,
created four to four red Scorpion Dragoncreature token with flying in haste see activate

(23:47):
only as a sorcery. Honestly, there's some really good token cards in this.
This is for too Mana, right, this is to Mana and you
get this thing. This is sucha good card. It's gonna be a
commander. It's gonna go in ninetynine and treasure decks because it's like,
yeah, no, the payoff forthe treasures are so high, you know,

(24:07):
pay seven cast brass is bounty. Now I've got like fifteen treasures.
I use it to create a bunchof dragons. Huh huh, and ed,
I mean this would also be fun. I have two decks. I
have a token deck and a Cascadedeck. Love Cascade because it's legitimately usually
randomize everything and it makes it great. But then when you throw in nuts

(24:30):
stuff like this, just oh yeah, I'm gonna create a bunch of treasure
tokens and dragons. It's great.Yeah, I still want to talk about
even interrupted. This is where Ibrought up why the plot being a sorcery
only ability is so important, becausewhat even Interrupter does is when it enters

(24:51):
the battlefield flash flying exal as spell, it becomes plotted spells. Your opponent's
cast from graveyards or from exile coststoo more to cast. Now that ability
is not as big as you know. When it hits, you can nullify
a counter spell, you can nullifya kill spell. You know the benefits
of having instant speed stuff or anoverload spell. You can nullify all of

(25:12):
that with this thing. Because you'relike, yeah, I bring it in.
I cyclonic rift goes to exile. You can cast it later without paying
its manocost, but then you don'tget the overload cost plus it's it and
it's at sorcery speed. You know, oh you're gonna counterspell me, Well
send it to exile. You cancast it during your main phase. Uh

(25:33):
huh. And again like they paythe overload costs in that they lose all
that manner. It's gone. Youcan't you can't just oh, never mind.
Yeah, there is so much therethat's going into this set, and
there's so much like, there areso many cards in there that are so
good. We got to talk aboutObeca. We have got to talk about

(25:57):
this. She's multicu. I'm lookingfor right now, the splitter of seconds
menace legendary formana. Whenever Rebecca dealscombat damage to a player, you get
that many upkeep steps after this phase. H Now, there's some confusion based

(26:22):
on the wording originally when it cameout, it has been ruled that what
they mean by that many, it'snot every time she's just combat domned you
get one. It's based on herdamage, how much damage she does.
So if you bolstered her to aten ten and hit him for eight,
you get ten, you get eightup keeps, which with how many cars
I mean, I played a lotof cards. The courts mechanized. She's

(26:48):
in blue. So you can runmechanized mechanized production not only win the game.
Not only that, but what isit called it? Oh? The
monarch. Yeah, the monarch stuff. All the monarch stuff is based off
of that. That's what I wastalking about when I said the courts,

(27:11):
the monarch courts, because not allmonarchy. Monarch is not based on upkeep.
It's based on end step. Butwhen you take the monarch, the
courts do stuff at your upkeep. So this deck can be built in so
many ways where you're just like, yeah, I'm piling the upkeeps. How
many upkeeps do I get as manyas I want? Or what else was?

(27:33):
What was your voting deck? Yougot a politics deck, give it
voting deck. I didn't do anythingat the upkeep. Obeca can't use it.
I know you had, so therewas some cards in there the triggered
to vote at your Oh yeah,it was the course of portal. You
get a course of portal ten times, a turn three times, trying,

(27:55):
drying extra cards, everything like that. This card is such a strong card,
We're gonna see it in Commander.Oh, mostly most of these cards
will see in Commander at some point. Now we're pretty much onto the multicolored
stuff, So I want you totalk about Gared Gared Mara, the wilds

(28:17):
haste on non token creatures you controlhave tap create a token that's a copy
of target token you control that enteredthe battlefield. This turn as far.
I love playing my token deck Ido. I played, uh, I
do a token life game kind of. He plays a Trustani a Trustani Celesnia

(28:42):
deck, which is so much fun. But I've always had a problem generating
my tokens like I can. OnceI get tokens that I can generate,
I start spewing out tokens, butthe initial start is difficult. This helps
with that because I just have tohave one token. As long as it

(29:06):
entered the battle I can continue tocopy it. You can make so many
copies and you're just like, yeah, I get a copy of all of
these. You're in red, soyou get different kinds of tokens. The
last one we're gonna talk about, which is because it has story implications,
because we're gonna get to the kindof the story of the set after this
is Loot the Key to Everything. Now he is not in the main set.

(29:29):
He is in the big Score, which is all the like random spells
that they're they've made to go withit, powerful stuff. He is.
He is what they were after whenthey're going into the vault. Now the
story goes Oko's getting a crew toraid this vault. Jase and Verasca are
going because they know what they knowthat there's something in the vault, that

(29:52):
it is very powerful, and thatthey can't let Oko sell it to the
highest bidder. So they're legitimately goingin this to betray him. Yep.
And that's how it plays out.The heist goes down, they get to
the vault, Jason Vaska betray theentire crew. Now they didn't know it
was Jase because Jace had disguised himselfthrough this entire thing. Actually, he's

(30:15):
been disguised as Ashioc since El Draine. Okay, so nobody knows he's even
Jase. Yeah, he doesn't.They know, They didn't. Nobody knows
he's Jason. And you can seethat on the Jase card. On the
Jase card, if you look atthe art, half of him looks like

(30:37):
ash yok. Yeah, it kindof looks two face. Yeah, And
so that was very much he revealedhimself at that point to be Jace,
because I don't know what happened toAshyok. We haven't seen ash Yok.
Last we saw of Ashyoch, shewas tormenting Elis norn On. Forec see

(31:00):
you well, I mean, ifyou if you're gonna pick anybody to copy,
you might as well. Yeah, pick somebody's been missing for a long
time. Yeah, where nobody canknow. Nobody knows where they're at.
But they get in, they betrayeverybody, They open the vault, get
the big score, which is thislittle guy loot the key to everything.

(31:22):
Now we're gonna see this because ithas story implications for the next few sets.
This set is very much wrapping upmost likely the Kellen arc as I'm
calling it, where Kellen has beentraveling playing to plane looking for his father,
which in then with this, uhwhere's it? Where's the Kelen card?

(31:45):
The Kelly and the Kid the flavortext on it. I found out
who I was. Now, uh, now it's time to discover who I
am. Yeah, so he foundOka. Now it's time to figure out
who he is as Oko's son.So it's coming to the end of his
story. Yep. And you've alsoseen that as like his color alignment has

(32:09):
changed set to scent. So hewas red on Exelon he was I think
he was just simic or he wasbanned I can't remember, or he just
had one color I can't remember onWilds. But he has been and then
he has been changing color. Sohe's he's a character who's been looking for
who he is and to understand that, he's been trying to figure out who

(32:30):
his father is, which is Oko, and so now he's found it.
So I think the Kelen arch iscoming to an end. We are beginning
what what I'm gonna lovingly call andthis is this is complete speculation, but
I think we're coming to what I'mcalling the Omen path arc. Figure out

(32:52):
what exactly changed in the multiverse toopen all of the Omen paths. Loot
is important because his mind contains amap of the multiverse, including the Omen
Paths. So if you haven't beenwatching the story too much, essentially what
happened is after Ferrexia fell during Marchof the Machine, it was, it

(33:17):
was warped to another it was itwas replaced by Zalfear. Literally they just
swapped dimensions and like, okay, well we're coming out of suspension. We
can put you in sent for EXIA spiraling essentially into the Abyss because why
not, And I'm gonna Nissa hadwasn't No, it wasn't Nissa. It

(33:40):
was Ren. Wren purified the RealmBreaker, the world tree, that world
tree, and I just got amessage for some reason posting yelling at me
about and changed the nature of themultiverse. After the events of round Breaker

(34:00):
happening, the Multiverse needed to heal, which now we've seen this before.
We've seen the Multiverse correcting itself before. Yeah, I don't I don't flote.
I haven't looked into a lot ofthe story for magic. I got
a lot of stuff to focus on, uh man as I have conversations about

(34:20):
this all the time, about justrandom stuff, and like we were discussing
it over. There's periods of timeswhere the Multiverse has to heal itself and
correct itself because something happens so massivethat it would have destroyed everything, so
it has to correct itself. Oddlyenough, both times it's done this,

(34:43):
it's involved a Silex. So thefirst time the multiverse had to correct itself
was when Erza detonated the Silex duringthe Was it that time it had to
deal with Rza. I think itwas when No, that's when Ozia awakened,
And so it wasn't when he detonateda silence. That was after the

(35:05):
first time. It was during themending. It was the mending. So
Dominaria had been scrattured as a whole, its timelines were all over the multiverse.
Healed itself because of all these splittimelines, called the mending. This
mending turned planeswalkers from godlike entities andimmortal deities to people that had to live

(35:30):
amongst people, couldn't and could justwalk between worlds. They were not godlike
entities before, but after they're notGod's They bleed. Yeah, and then
you get to the that that's wherethe whole Nickel Bollis art comes in because
he he was a pre mending planeswalker that's what they're called. When they

(35:50):
had that ability and it was strippedfrom them, they were pre mending planeswalkers.
He wanted to regain that power. This time the World Tree was open.
They detonated the Silex of the WorldTree, knowing that it could The
Silenx could potentially not only destroy Ferrexia, but destroy everything else, destroy the
entire universe, which, hey, guess what it has to fix itself when

(36:12):
it destroys itself. Well, itdidn't destroy itself because instead of detonating the
silex there they detonate they burned theworld tree. Okay, and this world
tree was what what wounded reality? This world tree had spread between all these
dimensions, put holes in them, portals everywhere, and the as soon as

(36:35):
that tree went away, the multiversesaid, I have all these holes in
reality. I need to fix it. And so what it is? It
stripped a bunch of planeswalkers of theirspark, said, okay, no,
we need this power. I don't. We don't know why it stripped the
Planeswalkers of their spark, but itwas a new event. I'm calling it.
I'm calling it. I don't thinkanybody else is calling it. I'm

(36:57):
calling it the second mending. Well, that's just it. The many they
all became godlike when they went fromgodlike beings to normal plays walkers. Yeah,
but this is, like you weresaying, there's too many holes in
the world. They have to ifsomehow patch the holes or just find a
way to bridge all the worlds togetherso that way, they're not. There's

(37:22):
not just random portals showing up backand norm that's the what omen paths saw,
these Omen paths. Essentially, there'sa new tree now I believe Calldeheim's
planted a new tree, or newtree was planted, or when Rehn purified
Realm Breaker, it changed things, and now you have all these omen paths.

(37:45):
And that's how the multiverse mended itself. Instead of saying, Okay,
I can't close all these holes, but what I can do is instead of
them being holes in reality, theyare now bridges. And if I remember
we were talking about it, mostof these holes in reality were made by
planes walkers. No, these weremade by Realm Breaker. These were made
by Realm Breaker. Yes, okay, what I don't remember who he was.

(38:09):
I don't like I said, Idon't look into the story. Realm
Breaker was not a person. Itwas the corrupted world tree. The Farrexxians
planted their own world tree and thenessentially used it as a planar portal to
invade other planes. Basically, itwas just a cannon ball to shoot through

(38:29):
the next. Yeah, open awhole, so the planes walkers can not
planes walkers. But the Ferrexcians canpile through an invade to bring completion to
the multivers It didn't work, andthe aftermath punch of planes walkers lost their
spark because of it, I meanbecause of it. This is why I'm
talking about loot. Loot matters, because the thing about the OMEN paths is

(38:54):
they need to be mapped. Nobody'smapped him yet. Omen paths go from
plane to plane, so it's likeLdraine connects to Kup to Excellent, Excellent
connects to Kaladesh and some other places. There's multiple OMEN paths on different planets,
but you need you need to mapthem. I mean you could have

(39:14):
you could have what two three portalsconnecting one world to several others yep.
And then you could have legitly onethat's off by itself that only has a
single portal to access it. Yeah. So Glutes is important because he is
a complete map in his head. His mind is a map. His mind
is a map of the multiverse.Jace realized that after they free him,

(39:36):
he looks into their mind, realizesthat's a map to the multiverse, including
the OMEN paths, and he goes, we have to keep this thing safe
because if a Warlord gets it.If somebody owns Scrupulus gets it, they
now have They now have free reignover the multiverse. Like I said,
I think we're going into what I'mcalling the Omen Path arc, where Jason

(39:59):
Varasca are now going to find outeither where the omen Paths originated or where
they end to figure out. Okay, what's going on? And their goal
is to potentially get Vraska back herspark. And also, I mean they
got to protect the key. Theyhave to protect this key, and the

(40:20):
best way to do that is tofind somewhere that using the map, finds
somewhere that nobody that would make itnearly impossible for somebody else to find exactly.
Well, I mean, just oneof these one of these planes that
are just out of the way, somewhere that nobody knows about. Yeah.
Overall, for I could talk aboutthe lure forever, I'm not going to

(40:43):
do it. Overall, the storytellingfor thunder Junction was really well done.
I encourage people to go read itthemselves. I like the story elements.
They talked about what happened to Jaseafter after March of the Machine, what
happened to Verasca after March of themachine. If you're wondering, Jase goes

(41:04):
home for the first time. Jacehas never returned to Rinn, and he
goes home and seeks out healing andthen begins this fight to get loot.
Like I said, we're coming intowhat I'm calling the omen Path Journey.

(41:25):
The omen Path arc is gonna beuh. I think it gonna be another
shorter arc. I like the ideathat they're doing short arcs. I don't
like that it's based around Jace.I really like that they focused on a
different character than Jace and a nonplanes walker at that we focused on Kellen
for multiple sets. Yeah. Overall, this set was really well done.

(41:45):
People were kind of worried when thunderJunction came out because it's like, how
are you gonna do an outlaw set? You need to introduce guns and it's
like, no, no, no, magic strong enough, magic strong enough.
Even then you think about it,guns O reach. Yeah. I
mean so when they when we wenthere and I saw the cards from thunder

(42:09):
Junction, I went, thunder Junctionis looks phenomenal. I remember I was
looking. There's there's I think severalcards that have reach. Oh yeah,
there's a ton of cards that I'vereached. But that's not the like you
were saying Railway Brawler. Yeah theywere. There were so many issues about
how the technology meshes because we weregetting into the age of electricity in the

(42:30):
wild West, which it's like, yeah, no, you just you're essentially
it's West punk West punk. You'relike, yeah, you have this.
You have this magic in here thatdoes a lot of the stuff which is
fun, like the thunder based weaponry, and it's pretty cool. Well done.
The cards phenomenal. I love thecards, the flavor. They nailed

(42:54):
it with this set. Honestly,I give this set up. I never
give a set of ten out often because it's not perfect. It's never
perfect. If this was perfect,I would need a bear, like a
grizzly bear. I think there's acard with a bear in this No no,
no no, like no ability isa bear two manna to to no

(43:15):
abilities, a bear, a grizzlybear. It's just coming into a part
of that having magic is that we'rewe've lost vanilla creatures. I mean,
given a nine out of ten,the set is phenomenal. I love it.
The alternate arts that they did werethe wanted posters for everything. Everybody

(43:38):
now has a wanted poster. It'sphenomenal. Outlast at thunder Junction. Never
sorry, it's a bear Druid sorryNailed, and I gotta give it to
him. I mean, but Ithink that's also all that we have for
you guys this week of QUI joinus in like half an hour, sorry,

(44:04):
more like twenty minutes because we're gettingback into Tiers of the Kingdom,
which you played a little bit duringthe week. Got some shrines and some
maps which waseping. Yeah, justthat way we can survive more than two
hits, because at least Tiers ofthe Kingdom has a one hit thing.
Yeah, but that's everything we havefor your thunder Junction, So join us

(44:28):
later. Would love to see youguys in chat. I'm your host,
Isaiah. I'm dragging Wrangler Jake thistime.
