What are you to do this fall? Are you thinking
about traveling anywhere? For some areas to travel during the fall,
(02:16):
it's their off season. It is a great way to
explore popular destinations without the crowds. For example, though it
is not Europe, Aaron and I went this past spring
to China, where the crowds were less the flights were
a little bit cheaper, but we were also on a
group tour. But I looked at a video this summer
(02:38):
of the Great Wall of China and it was jam packed.
And then when Aaron and I visited the Great Wall,
we were able to move freely from section to section,
and other popular destinations and tourist spots in China was
less crowded, so it was a really good time to go.
We also went to your a few years back. Where
(03:01):
we went to France, we did a river cruise from
Paris to Normandy and we spent a couple of days
in Paris. The crowds it was busy, but very manageable.
We had no weights at any of the restaurants except
for one of the local restaurants. We had pizza. It
was kind of fun as well. But if you really
want to go somewhere in an off season, Europe might
(03:23):
be a good place to go. Fall is one of
the best times to visit, and it's often more affordable.
And here's why. Number one is it's an off peak
season from mid September to November. It is considered their
shorter season and many European destinations. With a summer rush gone,
there's lower demand for flights, accommodations and attractions, so the
(03:45):
prices might be right for you to travel to Europe.
The weather in the fall can be cooler and also
a bit unpredictable, but still very pleasant. When we visited
France in November, as I mentioned before, we went on
a river cruse and we also visited Disneyland Paris. We
had some rain, but it didn't last long and it
(04:06):
didn't stop us from having a great time. We were prepared.
We had rain gear, from waterproof shoes to a rain
jacket to a cup of sweaters. Action temperature wasn't too bad.
We also had some sun as well. Going down the
River de Normandy the number three reason why you should
think about traveling to Europe in the fall. It brings
(04:26):
some great deals on hotels, flights, and even tours. Europe
offers some stunning places to visit during the fall. Here
are my top three places that you should consider when
traveling to Europe in the fall. Tuscany, Italy is number one.
Their rolling hills are especially beautiful in the fall, with
(04:48):
vineyards turning golden all of harvest beginning It's a perfect
time for wine tasting and exploring the charming many towns
in and around Tuscany. You can visit Florence at the
art museums, explore the countryside and savor some great food.
My number two pick is Provens, France. Why should you
(05:11):
visit here? That offers much cooler temperatures and fewer tourists.
While the lavender fields maybe past or bloom. The vineyards
are stunnings with local markets are full of fresh produce.
You can explore so many quaint villages, visit the Roman
Ruins and enjoy the fall colors in the mountains. Edinburgh,
Scotland is my third pick. You should visit there because
(05:34):
it has so much history, The architecture is so beautifully maintained,
the autumn colors are so beautiful. It's an ideal time
for hiking in the nearby hills or exploring the city museums.
You can visit Edinburgh Castle, hike up Arthur's Seat and
enjoy the cozy pubs. A bonus place to visit is Seville, Spain.
(05:56):
Why visit there? The scorching summer gives away to the
pleasant temperatures in the fall, making a perfect time to
explore the city's rich history and culture from visiting the Palace,
stroll through the Old Jewish Quarter, and enjoy traditional dances
in and around the city. All these destinations offer a
wonderful mix of cultural experiences, natural beauty, and local flavors,
(06:20):
making them an ideal place for you to book your
next adventure. So if you're thinking about going to Europe
this fall, keep me in mind now if you want
to stay close to home. Maybe you do not want
to travel all the way to Europe, but you still
want to go somewhere outside the United States. If you
are listening to this podcast here in the United States,
(06:42):
Canada is a fantastic vacation destination. It offers a mix
of stunning natural landscapes. It also has some vibrant cities
and rich cultural experiences. Here are some really good reasons
to visit Canada on your next vacation. It has natural beauty,
They have many national parks. Canada is home to some
(07:04):
of the most beautiful national parks in the world, like
baff and jasper In the rocky Mountains with crystal clear
lakes and tiring peaks, an abundance of wildlife for you
to visit of course, everybody wants to see the Northern lights.
Those spring and into early summer the best time to
(07:25):
see the Northern lights. Sometimes here in September, there's so
many storms you might be able to catch the Northern lights,
and some regions offering that magical experiences. Of course, there's
always the Niagara Falls, one of the most famous waterfalls
in the world. Niagara Falls is a mussy and offers
activities like boat tours, hiking and wine taste things in
(07:46):
the nearby Niagara region, but you can also see Niagara
Falls on the New York side as well as the
Canadian side. There's so many multicultural cities in Canada. Cities
like Toronto, Vancouver and Montrera are melting pots of cultures.
I live very close to Vancouver and visit it quite
(08:06):
frequently to go check out the culture and also eat
some really good food. If you look over some French heritage.
You can't make it to Paris, France or anywhere in France.
Quebec offers that European vibe, especially in cities like Quebec
City and Montreal, where you can where you can explore history,
the cobblestone streets, and of course French cuisine. If you
(08:30):
like skiing and snowboarding, the outdoor adventures in Canada boast
some of the best resorts for skiing in the world,
like Whistler in British Columbia. With less trails through forests
and mountains and coastlines, Canada is an enthusiasts. You might
even spot some bears, moose whales on your adventures. Canadians
(08:51):
are also known for their politeness and hospitality, making a
welcome place for travelers. You're likely to find helpful locals
who will be eager to share some tips and stories
about their country. If you're looking for a unique experience,
the Ice Hotel in Quebec is right up your alley.
Just remember it's not really open in the fall, it
(09:11):
doesn't know up till January, and you sleep on ice
base beds with wooden bred springs with a mattress on top,
lots of blankets, but it's a unique experience. Canada hosts
numerous festivals, such as the Calgary Stampede, Toronto International Film Festival,
and the Montreal Jazz Festival. Canada could be a year
(09:33):
round destination, whether you want to ski in the winter,
hike in the summer, or enjoy the colorful fall foliage.

thinking about going to Europe, or to Canada or anywhere else,
please keep me in mind. As some of you know,
(09:53):
I've been in emergency medical services for over forty years.
I want to talk about CPR and how it is
to save somebody's life. I had the honor of hosting
a cardiac arrest survival reunion. These reunions were always a
powerful mix of joy and tears as survivors and the
teams who saved their lives come together. This particular event
(10:18):
was especially touching as it included bystanders, our community paramedic
and our system, an off duty EMT, a fire engine crew,
BLS and paramedic units. The survivor's story is a testament
to the importance of quick thinking, recognizing calling nine one
one and performing excellent CPR and having a defibrillator nearby.
(10:41):
The room was filled with hugs and happy tears, making
it an unforgettable experience. So the moral of the story
is learn CPR and can save somebody's life. I hope
you enjoyed this podcast. If you're thinking about a vacation,
know somebody who is, having reached out to me at
