website at Magical Destinations by Steve dot Com. I want
to thank all of you again and again for downloading
and listening to this podcast and sending me positive vibes
regarding the content. It has been so much appreciated, as

(01:41):
this is a podcast that is deep in my heart
and as you know since you've been listening. Travel is
such a passion for me and I love doing it
and I'm glad to take you along this journey. It's
been an interesting week here the Pacific Northwest past weekend

(02:03):
and this is Sunday. It's been rainy all weekend and
all this wet weather has me dreaming of a sunny
skies Caribbean and Mediterranean beaches and stunning landscapes of Alaska.
But before we dive into wave season, which is coming up,
I wanted to share something personal with you. This past week,

(02:26):
I hit a milestone. I've lost fifty pounds since January.
It's been a lifelong struggle for me, and earlier this
year I was at my heaviest I've ever been. I
was heading down a very difficult path, but with a
lot of determination and unwavering love and encouragement from my wife, Aaron,

(02:46):
who happens to be an amazing cook. I've managed to
stay on track through this whole almost now ten months
of this diet. No, I haven't taken any weight loss medications. No,
I haven't taken any weight loss medications. It's all been
about tracking what I eat, portion control, and being consistent

(03:06):
even when I've hit plateaus. And I went about six
weeks of plateaus of where I couldn't change anything, and
it does get a little bit frustrating. Don't get me wrong.
I've gone on numerous vacations. I've traveled to China, I've
been on a cruise, I've been to disney Land, disney World,
and I've indulged quite a bit in all those vacations. Yeah,

(03:29):
when I've come back, I've gained a little bit. But
the key thing is when I got back, I started
back tracking, got back on a routine. Yes, I've done
a little bit of exercise and did a lot of walking,
but really to come down to portion control and when
I put in my mouth, then yes, I've still enjoyed
traveling and having fun all along the way. I have

(03:50):
a few more pounds to lose, but I'm feeling better
than ever, and I can't wait for my annual physical
in January. Now, who's ready to plan their next cruise?
Stuck up some sun fun, I'm exploring. Let's talk wave
season and get you set for an unforgettable trip. Are
you ready to sail into the best cruise deals of
the year. Well, get excited, because wave season is on

(04:13):
the horizon. From January to March, cruise lines are rolling
out irresistible offers, from on board credits to free upgrades
and everything in between. Whether you're a season cruiser or
dreaming about your first ocean adventure, let's talk. Reach out
to me at s Cohen at Curatedtravel Collection dot com,

(04:35):
hit my website, hit the contact page and send me
your information and I'll get right back to I promise.
Here's what you can expect during wave season. Unbeatable discounts.
Score major savings on your favorite cruise lines, including river cruises,
exclusive perks, think of complimentary spa treatments, specialty dining, or

(04:56):
even free shore excursions. Upgraded rooms. Doesn't love a balcony
suite for the price of an interior room, here's your chance.
If you like free Wi Fi, stay connected at see
without the extra chargers. There are so many other parks
that come with wave season, So again, reach out to me.
Sometimes I get the questions why book doing wave season

(05:18):
and not before. First of all, if you're going to
book a cruise six to twelve months out, no matter what,
it's the best time and probably the best deal and
lower prices you get. Because once you lock in your
cruise price, even if it goes up, it will not
affect your cruise fare. But if it goes down, and
that's my job as a travel advisor to look at

(05:40):
your crews and see if the price is changed, and
if it has I will make that change for you.
That's part of my service. Don't wait too long because
offers will sail away faster than you can think. I
can tell you right now, Alaska for twenty twenty five. Again,
Alaska is a multi generational family adventure as well. Reach out.

(06:01):
We can talk Alaska. We can book a cruise as
well as a land tour. What are the top destinations
to look out for? Well, of course the Caribbean comes
right to mind. Those dreams and this sun and crystal
clear waters. Then if you really want to explore the
Alaskan wonders, the majestic glaciers and wild beauty and wildlife

(06:25):
are always in style when you travel those inner passages
or take a land tour in Alaska. But again we're
talking about cruises, and i'd highly recommend if you are
gonna take an Alaska cruise, scope out about ten days
so you can do some You can do three days
on land and then had been relaxed on the seven

(06:49):
day cruise. The Mediterranean is always magical. There's so many
ancient cities, stunning coasts, beautiful sites. So the Mediterranean, Oh,
let me not forget at the food. If you'd like
to go to mikon O's and Greece, I have a
great restaurant for you to go to see a beautiful sunset.
There's also those luxury cruises you can pamp yourself and

(07:11):
style all kinds of different amenities. Now, if you like
the smaller cruises and maybe you'd like to go on
an expedition or river cruise. Expedition cruises are very popular
at this time. All kinds of places for you to
go on river cruise are a smaller ship. Again, I
am your cruise at Spark, so reach out at magical

(07:32):
destinations by Steve dot com. I know the ins and
outs of wave season and can help you find the
best deals and experiences, from pamily cruises to luxurious getaways.
I got you covered, ready to ride to wave. Here
are some FAQs about wave season. What is wave season? Well,
I answered that just a few minutes ago. But wave season.

(07:55):
Wave season runs from January to March, when cruises lines
offer their big the biggest promotions, discounts and special offers
for the year. It's a perfect time to book your
next cruise at the best price. Can I still get
a deal if I don't book right away? One thing
with cruise lines. There are offers all year round, but

(08:18):
deals during wave seasons can come and go very quickly,
and popular itineries may sell out fast, while some offers
may last. It's a good idea to book early for
the best selection of cabins and perks. A Wave season
deals available for all cruise lines. Yes, most major cruise
lines participate in wave season, offering deals across a wide

(08:40):
range of destinations and ship types, from adventure pack to
luxury focus, from small cruise ships to exploration. Let me
help you find the perfect cruise. Whether you're craving an
adventure or relaxation. I'm here to guide you through the
best deals. Ready to ride, to wave, reach out to
magical de istions by Steve. Now and let's make your

(09:03):
dream vacation a reality. It's time for your favorite segment
of this podcast. Hey Steve, that's right. This is where
I answer some of your travel questions. Hey Steve, do
I need a passport to travel within the United States? No?
US citizens do not need a passport for domestic travel

(09:23):
within the United States. However, you will need a government
issued ID, such as a driver's license, and starting soon,
you'll need a real ID. It's been pushed back so
many times. Who knows if you're pushed back again, Hey Steve,
when's the best time to visit a national parks in
the United States? Well, the best time to visit depends

(09:43):
on the park. What you're looking for. Spring and fall
or ideal for avoiding crowds and enjoying moderate weather. At
many parks like Yellowstone, the Grand Canyon, and the Great
Smoky Mountains. Summer is popular for national parks in Alaska
and places with cooler climates. Winter is perfect if you
want to experience parks like Zion or Death Valley without

(10:05):
heat or crowds. Hey Steve, what are some of the
must see US cities for the first time visitors. Some
of the top cities to visit include, of course New
York City for the iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty,
Central Park and Times Square, plus Broadway and the food.
Washington seas right up there as well for all the

(10:27):
museums and monuments. San Francisco or the Golden gate Bridge
is also a good place in the vibrant neighborhoods, and
of course Jery Delli Chocolate a good place to visit.
New Orleans for the unique culture, music and food. Chicagrapher
its architecture, museums and deep dish pizza. Charleston, South Carolina

(10:47):
is good. Pittsburgh's good for all the beautiful rivers. Seattle
coming up here to the Pacific Northwest is always a
great place to come. Visit here in Bellingham and Ferndale
is gateway to the Mount Baker, So lots of good
places to go great US cities. Hey Steve, what are
some top road trip routes in the United States? Well

(11:11):
at Route sixty six that's the most famous one. Travel
from Chicago to Los Angeles from the heartland of America.
Aaron and I have talked about that numerous times. That
is a semi bucket list for me. If you've never
been to California. The Pacific Coast Highway is so scenic.
The Coastal Drives from San Francisco to Los Angeles is

(11:31):
just well worth it. The Great River Road following the
Mississippi River through ten amazing states. The Blue Ridge Parkway
stunning mountain views from Virginia to North Carolina. Hey Steve,
do any travel insurance for domestic trips not required? Travel
insurance is a good idea for a peace of mind.

(11:51):
It can cover trip cancelations, medical emergencies, and lost baggage
if you're booking a non refundable flight or accommodation. Travel
insurance can protect your investment in case of unexpected events.
I'm a highly, highly believer in travel insurance. As I
just mentioned about what cities you should maybe travel to,

(12:14):
one I left out, and I get questions about Las
Vegas on a semi regular basis. So here are a
few questions I got about Las Vegas. Hey Steve, what's
the best time of year to visit Las Vegas? The
best time to visit Las Vegas is during the spring
March to May, and sometimes the fall September November, when
the weather is pleasant. Summers can be extremely hot, with

(12:36):
temperatures often exceeding one hundred degrees fahrenheit. However, if you
can handle the heat, summer offers great hotel deals. Winter
is cooler and a good time to visit if you're
looking to avoid crowds. But Vegas is busy all year around,
to just be aware of that. Hey, Steve, are there
activities in Las Vegas beyond gambling? Of course there are absolutely.

(12:58):
Las Vegas is known for its end entertainment and dining
in attractions. Aaron and I on our last visit went
to House Kitchen, saw a couple shows. Jeff Dunham went
to a comedy show. It's just so many other things
to do. I just going too Fremont Street and walking
around and seeing the entertainment there. Like I said, you
can see world class shows, explore stunning hotels and casinos,

(13:21):
dining at top notch restaurants, Visit the MA Museum and
the Neo Museum just to break things up, even take
a day trip to the natural one Who's like the
Grand Canyon or Red Rock Canyon. The city also has
plenty of shopping and nightlife options. Hey Steve, do I
need a car to get around in Las Vegas? Not necessarily.
The strip is very walkable and there are plenty of

(13:43):
public transportation options like the monorail, buses, taxis, and ride
share services. If you like to explore areas outside the
strips such as Hoover Dam and as I mentioned above,
Red Rock Canyon and other nearby attractions, I can help
you do that, Hey Steve. Can I get free drinks
in Las Vegas casinos? Yes, most casinos offer complimentary drinks

(14:05):
to those actively playing at slot machines or table games.
Just make sure to tip your server. However, if you're
sitting at the bar and not playing, you likely need
to pay for your drinks. Hay, Steve. Is Las Vegas
family friendly? Although Las Vegas is a famous for its
nightlife and casinos, there are plenty of family friendly activities.

(14:26):
Some popular spots include the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay,
Adventure Dome at Circus Circus, the high Roller Observation, Will
the Dolphin Habitat Just to mention a few just to
be mindful that certain areas like the casino floors, are
restricted to adults twenty one and over. Well, I hope

(14:46):
you've enjoyed this podcast. In this Hay Steve's segment, talk
to you soon again. Reach out to me if you've
