Speaker 1 (00:00):
I just finished a coaching session with one of my
students from the Confident Reader Mastermine program, and it actually
inspired this podcast episode. So I'm going to share with
you some key energetic boundaries that all intuitive readers and
really intuitive workers need to start implementing right away. Whether
you're brand new to reading tarot and doing intuitive readings,
(00:22):
you've been doing them for a while, or you're somewhere
in the middle, this episode is going to give you
some really key mindset that's going to help you to
respect your time and energy, more develop your gifts and confidence,
but most importantly, set and maintain healthy boundaries. I'm going
to give you lots of mindset, of course, but I'm
also going to give you examples about how to say things,
(00:43):
what to say, and how to handle things. Now, everything
I'm going to share with you in this episode is
taken directly from the Confident Reader Mastermind program. We are
currently open for early enrollment. This is the programs for you.
If you're ready to say yes, You're ready to take
yourself seriously as a reader and stop playing at small
You're ready to learn how to develop your intuitive abilities
(01:06):
and gifts, develop your skills and confidence as a reader,
and again take yourself seriously. We cover how to read
Taro with confidence, how to connect to the cards in
deep magical ways, how to structure a session and reading.
We also do lots of mindset work on developing your
unique gifts and abilities and your skills, and of course
(01:27):
boundaries and identity as well. It's a powerful program and
we have people from all levels. We have people who
are brand new, we have people who've been reading for
years and decades right. It's a beautiful community of people.
We meet twice a month on Zoom, we have a
private Facebook group, and we also have lots of bonus
workshops and classes as well. So big welcome by the way,
(01:48):
you're huge welcome to those of you who've already said
yes and come in to the early enrollment, and a
huge welcome back to some amazing clients who are coming
back for the second and i think fourth time as well.
So amazing to have you with us. If you're listening
to this and you're thinking, you know you'd love to join,
but you have questions, just reach out and happy to
chat with you over email and help you to decide
(02:09):
if the program is you know, a good fit for you.
I'll be super direct with you, and it's not a
wishy washy program. It's not fluffy, love and light. It's
very empowering, very practical, and we also do lots of
practice time. So most of our sessions on Zoom, I
will present some tarot techniques. I'll give you some things
like you know, spreads, you can use layouts, I'll explain
(02:32):
the cards. I'll show you different things you can do
in readings, and then we'll practice them together, so you
get lots of practice time. Of course, you get lots
of learning, but you also get to ask me questions.
At the end of all of our group sessions, we
do an open coaching session, so you can ask me
questions and get my feedback and of course mentoring on
(02:52):
your intuitive gifts and your Tarot practice as well. So
reach out if you've got any questions at all. You
can also, of course join directly using the link in
the show notes, and you know, enjoy the beautiful savings
as well as bonus welcome gifts too. So let's dive
in with this week's session. I want to talk to
you about why this is so important, and then we're
going to dive in. So one of the things I
(03:15):
am so passionate about in my work, especially in my
work in the Confident Reader. Mastermind is really empowering people
to take themselves and their gifts seriously. And what I
mean by that is you really respecting yourself and your time,
you really respecting your energy, and you really knowing and
owning your worth. I see too many intuitive people doing,
(03:37):
you know, endless free readings, letting people access them anytime
they want, having no boundaries, being a people pleaser, feeling
like they need to save everyone. And what does that do?
Most of the time You end up drained, a little
bit pissed off and burned out, and possibly even resentful
as well. You also will not be attracting the kind
of clients that you probably want to work with when
(03:59):
you're in that space. Two, what I love to focus
on is helping people to really step into that new
level of confidence and self respect and self worth and
actually that impacts the rest of your life. Something I
often say and the Confident Reader is the things that
we're doing here will benefit the rest.
Speaker 2 (04:17):
Of your life, for the rest of your life.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Because you stepping into greater self worth and self respect
and having healthy boundaries doesn't just help you as an intuitive.
It helps you in all areas of your life as well,
because you're really respecting yourself and you're also being an
example to those around you as well. I don't have
any notes for this piece. I'm just speaking to speaking
to you from the heart. But something else I feel
(04:40):
cool to share with you is you know, a core
belief of mine is you don't have to earn having boundaries.
You don't have to have a certain level of experience
before you have boundaries, right You don't have to have
been doing something a certain amount of time before you're
allowed to have boundaries. Boundaries are something that you should
start having right away because they indicate your level of
(05:00):
self respect and self worth. Having healthier boundaries creates more
self respect and self trust, which again will influence all
of your manifestations. When you've got healthy self love, healthy
self trust, when you respect yourself, your manifestations and your
spell work or skyrocket because you're bringing a much cleaner
(05:23):
energy to your spell work and also to your life
as well. But let me just repeat that you do
not have to save everyone. It is not your job
to give people free readings just because they want to
tap into you.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
Right.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Listen to my episode I think it was last week
or the week before, called how to handle people asking
you for free readings.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
But also we'll get onto this in more depth.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
But also a big part of you taking yourself seriously
is acting like you take yourself seriously, having wishy washy boundaries.
It sort of just comes across like you don't really
respect yourself, and I want to help change that for
you as well. So these are some really key boundaries,
energetic boundaries and practical boundaries that every intuitive and reader
(06:05):
should start implementing right away. The first one is a
money boundary, or I should say money boundaries. And what
this means is understanding that you deserve to be well
paid for your readings, for your time, for your energy,
understanding the gift of your presence. Okay, it also means
that you have healthy relationship with money when it comes
(06:27):
to your readings. You're not letting people pay you afterwards.
You're not doing silly, endless discounts, you're not grossly undercharging
or doing free readings because you respect yourself and you
respect your time and your energy as well. Listen to
that episode that I did last week or the week
before on how to handle people requesting free readings, and
(06:49):
I promise you this will really click for you. If
that hasn't already. You do not owe anyone free readings
just because you know how to tap into intuitive messages
and read tarot act or fact. The client gets more
out of the session when they pay well for it,
because it shows them that they're respecting themselves. It shows
that they respect you, and there's a clean exchange. Doing
(07:12):
free readings most of the time will attract I don't
want to be unkind, but it will attract a certain
type of person who wants free readings. And I don't
want that for you, and I actually don't want that
for them as well. I want people to see themselves
as capable and strong and to take themselves seriously. Now,
if you want to give someone a free reading because
you want to, if it comes from a place of you,
(07:35):
you know, wanting to do it, then fine, that's cool.
What I'm talking about here is this belief that you
have to give free readings away, or you shouldn't charge
for them, or you should only charge small amounts. You know,
try paying your rent with you know, oranges, right, Like
I saw that on Instagram.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
That's why I'm laughing.
Speaker 1 (07:52):
But there was a great post that said, like, you know,
try and you know, try and pay your rent or
your phone bill with oranges or with you know, good way.
And the reason I say that here is you deserve
to be well paid for your readings, for your energy,
for your gifts, for your time, and you deserve to
feel comfortable and abundant and well paid.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
That's the first boundary for you. No more free readings.
Speaker 2 (08:14):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (08:15):
We cover this in depth in The Confident Reader Mastermind.
I cover a lot of mindset around it, what to say,
how to say things, how to handle people wanting free
readings from you. But I want to encourage you to
go back and listen to that recent episode because I
model different things you can say. Okay. The second is
time boundaries. Now, this is not something I've seen talked
(08:37):
about anywhere else, especially in this context, and I want
to give you some examples. Time boundaries is exactly what
it sounds like. It's you respecting your time and energy,
but also having your time and energy respected, and what
that means is starting a session on time, wrapping up
on time, allowing this session to be treated like a
(08:59):
professional engagement that's handled with respect. Yes, of course it's friendly,
it's magical, all those beautiful things. But it's also about
respecting your time. I don't want you thinking that you
have to wait around when someone's late through a session,
or you have to go massively over time because you
don't know how to end a session on time, or
you don't know how to have boundaries. Again, that can
(09:21):
come off like you don't respect yourself, but also it's
going to drain you really quickly. What I recommend you
do is have very clear start times to your session. So,
for example, if your client books are sessions for at
two pm, you know this is what I do in
my practice. Okay, I'll model this for you real time.
Let's say your client session is at two pm. You
log on and the client's not there, Okay, give it
(09:44):
two or three minutes, and then I always send them
an email and the subject is always your session has started,
and I say in the email, you know, hi, such
and such, your thirty or sixty minute reading whatever it is,
which was a book for two pm today, has now started.
Here's a linked access it.
Speaker 2 (10:00):
Again.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
I can wait for you know, five or ten more minutes,
and then we'll need to reschedule.
Speaker 2 (10:05):
Now.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
The reason I've done that is because I've sent it
to them, so I've acknowledged to them it's started and
I'm here. But it's also a boundary thing. I'm letting
that person know I can wait a little bit more
and then it's a no show. And I want you
to start using this as well, because it shows that
you take your time, your energy, and.
Speaker 2 (10:22):
Your gift seriously.
Speaker 1 (10:24):
Okay, if your client or whoever's booking you know, is
like hugely late for the session, it is not appropriate
and in my opinion, not respectful of you or even themselves.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
I get it. Things happen, no problem at all.
Speaker 1 (10:37):
Okay, completely get that, but I want you to really
respect your time and energy. Now, on the other end
of things, what I always recommend you do is let
your clients know a few minutes before the end, so
you can say something like, we have a few minutes
left in this session, let's see what we can get done.
Or you can say we have a few minutes left.
If you'd like to extend, you know, I can send
(10:59):
you a link to do that. The point here is
you are not doing extra time that's not being paid for.
And again that's self respect. That this might sound a
little bit scary to some of you who are really
into people, pleasing, take a breath. You're doing amazingly, but
let this in. This is like medicine for you. This
is going to really help you to respect yourself more
(11:21):
in all areas. So the second is your time, starting
on time, ending on time, okay, and doing so with
confidence and of course kindness, right. I always like to
call it handling it with confidence and kindness. But you're
being very firm. So let's say that you've got two
minutes left on a booking and the client says, oh,
but I've got three more questions, and sometimes people will
(11:43):
do that, right. What you can do is you can
say something like great, happy to do one of those
questions for a quick two minute read, but the other
two will need to do that in our next booking.
So you want to be very clear again on your
time and your energy. Okay. The next one is is
personal space. Right, personal space. This is something that's so
(12:04):
important as a reader, and I want to really encourage
you to take this.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
In as well.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
For example, if you're at a dinner party, you're at
the gym, you're having lunch with a friend wherever you are,
and somebody like finds out that you do readings and
they go, oh, you know, what do you pick up
about me? Or what should I do about this? Or oh,
I've got my cards with me, could you pull a
few to me?
Speaker 2 (12:25):
Right?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
You get what I'm saying. Those of you who are
readers will know exactly what I'm talking about. Sometimes people
will ask, you know, what do you pick up about
me at a party? Of course it's not done with
bad intention. I get that, but it's inappropriate.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Right.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I want you to have the mindset of I'm not
working right now. Here's how to book a session. I
cover that, by the way, in depth in the last
episode I did about this how to handle requests for
free readings. Definitely go and listen to that. But your
personal space is huge, right. Let people know your working hours,
the days that you do readings, on, the days that
(12:59):
you don't do readings on, and also on your social media.
Let people know. For example, you can say no DMS.
A lot of my colleagues do that. You know, no DMS.
People will regularly DM me and say what does this
tarot card mean? Or what do you think about this
or what bah blah. You know, I'm used to it,
but I just reply back in a very you know,
friendly but clean, friendly but kind of direct way, and
(13:23):
I'll just say thanks for your message. Here's a link
to book of reading. Now, those people never book, right,
and that's fine. But my point here is you do
not need to give people access to you all the time.
You have personal space too, okay, So getting clear on
when you are and aren't working, and also you know,
making it comfortable for you to say that, Like if
you're at a party with a friend, or you're out
(13:43):
or you're having dinner. The last thing you want is
people asking you for readings then and there.
Speaker 2 (13:47):
It's not appropriate.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Okay, So you're getting clear on your personal space and
being comfortable with that. The next is what you expect
from your clients. Now, again, I have not heard anybody
talking about this, and this is so important. We cover this,
by the way, in depth in the Confident Reader as well.
I'll give you specific examples of what to say, what
to send clients, how to explain things, all that stuff.
(14:12):
So if you like this, definitely jump in and join us.
This is really about you taking yourself seriously as a
reader in twenty twenty six. No more playing a small
no more being super available and having you know, crappy boundaries.
This is really about you elevating your mindset and your practice.
But what you expect from clients. Here's an example. Obviously,
(14:33):
you expect your clients to be there on time. Right,
I want you to start creating some kind of terms
and conditions or some kind of document or video, whatever
you want to call it, about this how to icre mind,
how to get the most out of your reading. But
within that there's a few boundaries. For example, you know,
making sure that you are sat down a few minutes
(14:54):
before the session, taking a few deep breaths if needed,
so we can start on time, so you can be
in as much of a neutral state as possible. I
do not want to do a reading if I log
on and the person is super activated emotionally or whatever else.
It's happened a few times in the last few years. Fine,
but as a rule, people know this. The client will
(15:16):
not get the most out of the session if they
are super activated, and actually you won't. So get clear
on these things. For example, letting your clients know please
make sure that you're sat down some a nice and
comfortable in a quiet space with great Wi Fi and
no distractions. You do not want to be doing a
reading for somebody and their dogs barking, child is screaming,
(15:38):
or the someone's coming in the room. These things can
happen absolutely again, right, I understand that. But this is
about you getting clear on what you need to do
your job properly and to give your client a great reading.
So I always encourage my students as well. You might
have your own versions of things. You might have certain
things that for you are really important that you expect
(15:58):
of your client. Let people know, Let people know, this
is for your benefit. This is to help you get
the most out of the session. But here's you know,
here are a few pointers to help you do that.
So of course, you know that's some grounded and neutral
getting clear what the question is or situation is, or
being open whatever, being open to whatever comes through, making
(16:18):
sure that you're sat somewhere, quiet, comfortable, no distractions. You know,
you do not want to be logging on and your
client is driving, or they're walking their dog, or they're
you know, ordering a coffee. I think that's kind of rude.
I also think it's not a great way to do
a reading. So you don't want to be sat there,
unsure of what to say, feeling awkward, and then trying
(16:39):
to give your client a reading. So address these things upfront.
Create some kind of document or booking or a page
you know, where people book. And there can be some
some there can be a little you know, blob or
whatever you want to call it about this, but handle it,
you know, get very clear on what you expect from
your clients to give people the best reading. And the
(17:00):
next piece is a bonus. But it's all about topics.
So you might have some topics that you don't want
to read about, and that's absolutely your choice, as long
as you make it clear to people, maybe upfront or
in videos or you know, you let people know that
before they book. But be very clear, these are the
topics I read on, and these are the topics I
don't read on. If that resonates with you, of course,
use it. If it doesn't, no problem. But the point
(17:22):
here is, and I hope you can tell by now,
but the point here is this is really about you
respecting yourself as a reader. You taking yourself and your
time and your gifts seriously, and you setting things up
to mirror that there is no reason for you to
be giving your energy and your gifts away for free,
waiting around for clients. You show up late and then
(17:43):
feeling awkward because your client's walking around making your coffee, right,
that's just not the vibe. One of the things I
teach in Confident Reader Mastermind is you taking yourself seriously
as a reader starts with how you set your practice up.
So having these boundaries set up already in place, it's
going to help you to feel a lot more professional
(18:05):
and also to appear so as well. And your clients
will really value it, I promise you. So many people
message me telling me that these kind of you know,
watching me run I practice like this, or coming to
these classes you know in Confident Reader, it's really helped
them take themselves more seriously. Implementing just one or two
of these will make the biggest difference to your mindset
(18:26):
and of course also to your practice as well. So
let's do a little cheeky recap. So this is really
about you, like I've said, taking yourself seriously as a reader.
No more wish you wash you one day. This is
about you, right here and now, taking yourself seriously understanding
that you deserve to be well paid for your gifts
and that you do not need to be working free.
(18:47):
It's about you respecting your time and energy and having
your clients respect your time and energy as well. It's
about getting clear on what you expect from your clients
and respecting your personal space and how you want to
be contact and when, and also being clear on the
topics that you do and don't read on. Now again,
all of this is said with confidence and kindness.
Speaker 2 (19:07):
Right, this is about you.
Speaker 1 (19:10):
Setting yourself up a success so that you can give
your client a great reading. Absolutely, but it's also about
you giving yourself permission to I would say, really really
invite in people who mirror this new level of self
worth and self respect, because if you have quite if
you have quite sort of weak boundaries, you can often
invite people in again.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Who will mirror that, and we don't want that.
Speaker 1 (19:33):
On an intuitive level, these kind of boundaries will really
support you developing your gifts and your confidence as a
reader as well. So if this all sounds good to
you and you'd like to dive in and learn more
about how to develop your skills and confidence as a reader,
including lots of work like this on boundaries, I should
say mindset work. Lots of mindset work on this like
(19:53):
this on boundaries and things. Reach out if you've got
any questions, or you can use their link in the
show notes. Confident Reader master Mind is currently open for
early enrollment, and again a huge welcome to those of
you who already who've already come in. Is going to
be a fabulous, fabulous six months. Sending all of you love,
blessings and magic,
