Speaker 1 (00:00):
So this session is all about one of my favorite
topics to coach and mentor and teach on. This is
all about how to take yourself and your gifts more seriously,
how to step into your power, and most importantly, how
to stop playing small with your gifts and with your magic.
Now very shortly, I'm going to dive in and give
you some mindset and also some really practical ways that
(00:22):
you can start, you know, stepping into your power, whatever
that means for you. Whether you're brand new to giving
readings and working with your intuition, whether you've been doing
so for a while, all you're coming back to your practice,
this episode is going to give you beautiful mindset shifts
and of course lots of gold nuggets that you can
start using right away. And it's my intention that you
(00:43):
get exactly what you need and more. Now I normally
say this in the readings I do each week, but
I want to bring this into this session as well,
and that's to trust the timing and the magic of
your life. Whenever you're connecting with this session, whatever we're connecting,
and whenever you're hearing the episode, just know that this
is all happening at exactly the right time for you
(01:04):
and in exactly the right way as well. Now, everything
I'm going to share with you in this session is
taken from my program, The Confident Reader Mastermind. It's a
six month container with me and of course an amazing
group of people from around the world. We meet twice
a month on Zoom where I teach different terror reading techniques,
techniques for developing your intuition and gifts, and lots of
(01:26):
practical pieces on how to run a session with confidence,
how to give clear, empowering messages, and also lots of
mindset and identity work around respecting yourself and your gifts
and your time boundaries with your gifts, which is a
huge one I love teaching on. And also lots of
goodies as well from my own practice, and lots of
things you can do to feel much more confident giving readings.
(01:48):
I'll put some links in the show notes if you'd
like any more information. You can also of course send
me a message if this sounds like something you'd like
to learn more about, and of course join us as well.
But let's dive in. So this episode is all about,
you know, really, how to stop playing small. I did
a video on TikTok I think two weeks ago something
like that, where I basically just had a really strong
(02:10):
feeling to jump on. I never script my videos. I
never make notes for them or anything like that. The
podcast I make notes for, but things like TikTok I
never make notes for. I just jump on and share.
But this particular video I did was called stop playing
small with your gifts, and I basically said in the video,
you know, if you feel like you have an intuition,
(02:31):
which we all do, if you have a gift, stop
playing small. You know, no one is going to give
you a gift certificate for holding back and playing small,
like you don't get an Amazon gift card or a
bunch of flowers for holding yourself back. Right, your intuition
is a gift that you have not only to help
other people, but to help yourself. And I want to
(02:52):
normalize that in this space. Right. Yes, it's lovely to
have a strong intention to help others, of course it is.
But you all have the right to help yourself fabulously.
You also have the right to be very well paid
and prosperous because of your gifts. You also have the
right to use your gifts to navigate and manifest your
goals and your intentions as well. And it's the same
(03:14):
with magic. You know, yesterday I did a beautiful reading
for a new client and what kept coming up in
the session was that message use magic for yourself. And
they at the end of the session told me that
they were always doing healing work and magical work for
other people, but they weren't doing it for themselves and
they felt like it was time to and we laughed
and said, well, I think that's clearly a message now.
(03:37):
So I want this episode to sort of be the
same with you. I want this to be like a
beautiful message for you where you do start taking yourself
more seriously with your gifts. Okay, because that's the thing,
your intuition, your your gifts and abilities. They don't just
randomly get stronger and more powerful that they developed because
(03:58):
you make a decision to take them and yourself seriously,
and that starts with a commitment to stop playing it small. Okay,
So let's dive in. The first piece I've got for
you here is make a commitment to yourself and take
yourself seriously. People don't always like the word commitment in
this space. I think it's a beautiful word. You can
(04:19):
substitute whatever you like if that resonates better for you.
But my point here is make a decision. Okay, let's
use that word. Make a decision. Make a decision to
take yourself and your gifts seriously and to stop playing
it small. Playing it small can mean things like doubting yourself,
second guessing yourself, holding yourself back, not charging for readings,
(04:41):
not bringing your intuitive self into what you do, not
telling people that you do this work. It can be
anything like that, right, but make a commitment and a
decision right now to take yourself seriously and to actually
show up powerfully for yourself. An example I often use
in this type of work is think about the gym. Right.
(05:02):
You wouldn't just go, oh, wish I was in better shape.
It would be like, okay, so make a commitment, join
a gym, get a trainer, follow a plan, do the
work like that's how you get the results. I say
this as someone who's recently back to the gym after
a shoulder issue, so I'm like sort of talking to
myself there as well. But anyway, my point there is
whatever you want to build and developing your life, it
(05:24):
doesn't happen by chance. It happens by choice. So you
playing big with your gifts, you stepping into your power
and really using them starts with a commitment. Now we're
about to open up enrollment for the Confident Reader Mastermind
the New Round. This is a six month program led
by me and we have a beautiful group of people
from around the world. We meet twice a month on Zoom.
(05:46):
We also have Taro retreats and practice sessions, and you're
going to learn tons of powerful techniques in the program,
everything from connecting to the cards in deeper ways, how
to run a session with confidence, how to read on
any subject, and how to really respect yourself and your gifts.
We do things in the program also, like we put
(06:07):
a side dedicated Tarot time, and I teach you this
beautiful concept called having a Tarot date with yourself. And
what I do is I talk you through what that
looks like, how to do it, scheduling in your calendar.
So it really represents you taking yourself seriously and again
making that commitment right. So I want you to really
think about making a commitment to yourself that you're not
(06:29):
going to play small anymore with your gifts. You're not
going to hold yourself back, and you're not going to
downplay your gifts. You're not going to put yourself down
with your gifts. You know, I heard someone the other
day say that. For a long time, they used to say, oh,
I'm a bit weird and witchy. And I stopped them
and I said, I'm going to just encourage you to
speak a little bit kinder to yourself. Calling yourself weird
(06:51):
is actually not like what you think it is. You know,
let's normalize being proud of ourselves and instead saying something
like I'm actually really gifted and I love sharing my gifts, right,
or I'm really gifted and I love developing them, or
whatever is appropriate. Right. My point here is don't put
yourself and your gifts down. Take yourself seriously. Next piece
(07:14):
is let people know. Now this might sound really obvious,
but here's the thing. A lot of people that I
work with in my program and privately are already doing
things like coaching, healing work, personal training, teaching, like different things. Right.
So many people will say to me behind the scenes,
I also get intuitive messages about people or about clients,
(07:37):
or I sense things or I'd love to start reading
Taro for them, but I don't want to freak them out,
be weird or you know, I don't know how to
bring it into the space and shy. So one thing
that you can do is you can start putting this
in your marketing material. You know, tell people I'm also
very intuitive. During our session, I may receive messages for you,
(07:58):
and then you can check in with people. You can say,
I just wanted to let you know I'm also very intuitive.
I will sometimes receive messages for clients, you know, during
a massage or coaching session, whatever it is, Is it
okay with you if I share them? You know, so
you sort of you preframe it up front by letting
people know that you are intuitive and have a gift,
and you also ask their permission, because I'm a big, big, big,
(08:22):
big believer that you should always get consent before doing
any intuitive work. Like it's super inappropriate in my opinion,
to just go up to someone and say that you
have an intuitive message. There's some circumstances where I would
say that's okay, But for the most part, if someone's
coming to you for let's say reflexology or you know,
coaching or massage or something that you know, always ask
(08:45):
upfront if they're open to intuitive messages and also let
them know. Right takes all the pressure off, but also energetically,
that's you taking yourself seriously. You're coming out of the
intuitive closet, so to speak. Right, it's already in writing,
it's already there. Put it on your website, put it
on your social media, talk about it. If you're talking
to a potential client, you know, tell them as well
(09:07):
as coaching and whatever else and also very intuitive and
I you know, retaro and sometimes I might want to
bring that into our space if it feels appropriate. How
does that sound for you? I can promise you the
right people will absolutely resonate with that. And I've told
this story many times, but I want to bring it
up again in case some of you haven't heard it.
One of my biggest clients ever, one of my biggest
(09:29):
coaching clients ever, found out that I did this is
years ago. Found out that I did Tarot and intuitive
work on the side. Was so excited they asked me
to build it into our work. And that's partly how
this was born. You know, we were meeting once a
week sometimes more to do mindset and strategy and pr
and business and all these great things, and it ended
(09:51):
up being that mixed with Tarot and Intuitive, which by
the way, is an incredible mix. My point here is
let people know. Most people around you you will absolutely
love to know that your intuitive, you have gifts and
that you read Taro, and they would love to know
about it. If you run a coaching program or you
do any kind of services like that, they make incredible
(10:11):
additions to programs and incredible additions to really anything. You
could do that. As a personal trainer, you could do
a mini reading for someone at the beginning of the
program or the session. As a coach, you could do
the same thing. Like there's so many ways you can
build this into what you're doing. My point is, don't
keep it separate. Let people know. The next is one
(10:32):
of my favorite topics to talk about. And if you
know me and you know my work, you can probably
guess what this is going to be. Stop giving your
gifts away freely and cheaply. I'm going to say this again,
stop giving your gifts away so freely and cheaply. Own
your worth. You deserve to be well paid for your time,
energy and gifts. If you're always giving your energy away
(10:57):
so freely or super cheaply. You're not taking yourself seriously
because you're treating it like a hobby, and you're also
keeping yourself very small. Okay, Now, I talk about this
a lot in different trainings inside the Confident Reader Mastermind,
all about owning your worth, owning your value, and how
to start charging for readings and how to raise your fees.
(11:18):
I go in depth into the benefits not only to you,
but also to your client. People don't take things seriously
that are free or too cheap. They just don't. Now,
I will say this, if you choose to do free readings,
then that's beautiful. I have people in my life I
do readings for that. I won't charge them for a
number of reasons. They're very close friends or family. That's different.
(11:42):
If you choose to do it actively and you offer
it great. But my point here is like, when you
want to develop your gifts and your identity as a
reader and your confidence, stop giving your energy away so
cheaply because you can you see the disconnect you giving
something away so freely and cheaply does not indicate that
(12:03):
you take it seriously. Right when you own your value,
when you're really confident in your gifts and your abilities
and your energy, and you know how valuable your energy is.
You're not giving it away so cheaply and freely. On
a practical way, I'm sorry. On a practical level, one
of the things I love to remind people of is
you can't give people your best self in a reading
(12:26):
or an intuitive session. If you're worrying about money, underpaid,
stressed out, overworked, burned out, you just simply can't write.
You should want your reader to be there, comfortable, well paid, abundant,
able to show up fully and bring their best self.
So that's one level to it. On another level as well,
like giving your gifts away too cheaply and freely, it
(12:49):
can sometimes go into people pleasing right, I won't charge them,
and they'll like me more. If I charge them, they
won't like me. Let me be blunt with you. People
who want free readings from you probably not your friends
or really respecting you or themselves. They just want a dopamine. Here.
It's not the same. Like all the people that ever
ask me for free readings never book, and that's fine, respectfully,
(13:13):
those are not the kind of people I'd want to
read for because for me, I connect to people who
understand the value and the beauty of a reading, and
they bring their full self. And that's the other piece
to this. When you charge well for your readings, the
client brings their full self. They take the time more seriously,
(13:33):
they listen and engage. They also take themselves seriously. They're
not going to be walking around their apartment making a
coffee doing other things. They're going to be sat there
fully engaged with you. Little funny side note, I actually
do some training on this inside the Confident Reader Mastermind.
I give you templates of what you can send people
before a session to help them not only get into
(13:55):
the right energy, but also to take the time with
you more seriously. You know, I've heard so many stories
from my students about, you know, they've agreed to do
a free reading for someone and the person you know,
logs on sat in bed, or the person logs on
as they're getting ready, or they log on as they're
walking the dog. That's disrespectful to themselves but also to you,
(14:15):
the reader, Like that's just not appropriate, right. You deserve
to be taken seriously as a reader, and again on
an energetic level. Things that you give away too freely
and cheaply. You're not taking seriously. I could literally talk
about this for hours, so for the sake of time,
I'm going to wrap this up. But my point here
is big way that you can stop giving your power
(14:36):
away and playing small is to stop giving things away
freely and cheaply, start charging for them, raise your fees,
and start having boundaries as well. You know, I always
I teach this again in depth, but like inside the
Confident Reader, Mastermind, but end your sessions on time, stop
doing you know, stop going massively over time and draining
yourself if you're not being paid extra. Again, this is
(14:58):
about respect, about value, and it's also about you owning
your work as well. Now, the next piece is clearly
the noise outside is confirmation. The person having their motorbike
very loudly outside, it's a clearer confirmation. The next piece
here is just share the message. And that's one of
my favorite things to teach as well. I do lots
(15:20):
of coaching on this inside Confident Reader. Just share the message.
You know. One of the ways you might be playing
small is by like not sharing the messages. So you
might be in a situation where you know you receive
an intuitive message, or you get an insight or a
piece of guidance, and you know you think, oh, I
don't want to say the wrong thing, or I don't
(15:41):
want to look weird, or I don't want to whatever
it is. Again, I'm not talking about people who haven't
come to you for a reading. I'm not talking about
like that. I mean, you know you might be avoiding
a certain message or avoiding sharing a certain piece of insight.
Don't do that. Share the message. In the Confident Reader
master Mind, we say, just share the message, babe. A
joke we have and there's lots of practical ways and
(16:03):
frames and sequences for this. It's not a case of
just blurting it out, like I'll teach you how to
sort of receive the messages, how to share them in
a way that's empowering. But my point here is just
share the message. Again. By holding back and not sharing them,
you can sort of be saying to yourself that you're
not taking yourself seriously right, which you don't want to do.
(16:27):
Bonus piece here is stop trying to impress your client.
I think I talk about this every few episodes, probably
a few of these concepts, because they really are the
core of so much of my work. Of Course you
want to give a beautiful reading. Of course you want
to give an empowering reading that's magical and feels great.
Of Course you want to give your client a fabulous experience.
(16:47):
But of course you do. And if you don't want
to do that, definitely don't listen to me in my work.
But my point with this is, you know, stop trying
to impress your client. If you go into a reading
wanting to press your client, you want them to think
that you're gifted and magical and amazing. First of all,
it's not about you, Okay, it's not about you at all.
(17:08):
It's not your client's job to validate you or give
you approval or give you some kind of thumbs up.
That's actually you giving your power away to your client,
not gool. Also, it's going to block your messages when
you're trying to impress your client. That can be your
own stuff, right, which will clean up inside confident reader,
no worries, but it can also block you sharing the messages,
(17:30):
and it can sort of make you feel a little
bit more pressured or you might be worried about getting
it wrong. You might be thinking, oh, that won't make sense.
It's not about making sense to you. That's the other
piece here. The messages that you share in a reading
are actually not about making sense to you. It's the
reading's not for you. You're the channel for it. I
would say I get probably a few messages a week
(17:52):
from people who will come back to me and say,
I had a reading with you a few weeks ago
or a few months ago, and you know you said this,
and now that makes sense or that clicked or that
happened or whatever it is. And I can promise you
a good percentage of those I had no idea what
it meant at the time, didn't understand it because it's
not my job to I'm not bothered about making sense
(18:15):
at the time. Most of the time it does, of
course it does, right. But what I'm saying is like,
don't go into a session wanting to impress your client
and wanting to get approval from them. It's your job
to do the reading, share the messages, give them guidance,
and then of course coach them, etc. But you don't
want to be going into a session trying to impress anyone.
(18:36):
You want to be going in confident in yourself and
your abilities. And your worth, and also respecting and honoring
your client and the time that you have with them, okay,
because it's spare time, it's about them and then getting
what they need. I often will say to my clients
at the beginning of a session, you know, thank you
for being here, thank you for booking. Let's set the
intention that this is magical for you, and you get
(18:57):
what you need. And then I do a specific meditation.
I do this before I log on and sometimes during
where I imagine myself stepping back energetically and being like
an empty space to receive messages. And that's one of
the keys to giving you a beautiful reading. It's not
about you, it's about honoring and supporting your client. As
(19:17):
I'm wrapping this up, I can think of like three
or four more things I want to add to this,
but for the sake of time, let's complete here. I
hope this was helpful for you and empowering, whether you're
you know, wanting to do readings, whether you're wanting to
bring readings into what you already do, whether you're wanting
to enhance and develop your gifts in all areas, or
you know in the readings that you do think about
(19:40):
how you can apply these pieces you know asap right,
think about how you can make a commitment to yourself.
Let people know definitely stop giving your energy and time
away for free and just share the message. If you're
listening to this, you know, I can almost guarantee that
you're a gifted person with an intuition and with inner
wisdom and abilities. Stop playing small, you know, stop playing small.
(20:03):
It's time for you to really step up now. If
that sounds good to you and you'd like to step
up and really own your worth and again take yourself seriously,
come and check out the Confident Reader Mastermind. This is
my signature program. It's a six month container where we
dive into how to read taro with confidence, how to
connect to the cards, how to give beautiful readings. There's
(20:25):
lots of practical techniques. It's not just feel good stuff.
It's lots of practical things like understanding the symbols on
the cards, how to read the cards. I teach you
things like how to run a session with confidence and ease,
how to maintain boundaries. We go into things like how
to bring your intuitive gifts into your readings and how
to develop your unique personality as a reader. That's a
(20:47):
really fun one to do. I mean they're all fun,
but that particular one, it's quite magical for people. We
also do a lot of mindset work on identity. You
really seeing yourself as a reader, not as someone who
sort of has a game, not as someone who would
like to be more confident, but you've seeing yourself as
a confident reader who shares their gifts powerfully. Feel free
(21:08):
to reach out if you have any questions. I'll be
happy to chat with you over email. You can also,
of course check out the links in the show notes.
I'm sending you magic and blessings for a fabulous week,
and it's my intention that this has given you some
beautiful things you can action and most importantly, get gorgeous
results from
