Speaker 1 (00:00):
So in this week's Tarot and Intuitive reading, we looked
at the importance of really stepping into that new self concept, right,
really embodying that new identity that aligns with who you
want to be and also where you want to be
in your life, and supporting that with taking practical action
and kind of updating your inner software. So if you
(00:21):
haven't already listened to this week's reading, go and listen
to it after this you're going to absolutely love it.
This week's lesson is what I've been wanting to do
for a long time. I have like a list of
episodes I really want to do, but I always kind
of meditate on what I feel is the best one
to do at that time, and this one is I
feel certainly needed at the moment. And this week's lesson is,
(00:44):
you know, it's all about three ways. Knowingly it's going
to be more than three, but anyway, three ways that
you can really be taken seriously as a Taro and
Intuitive reader, whether you're brand new to reading cards and
giving readings, or you've been you know, doing it part
time or doing it for a while, right, this episode
is going to give you some really powerful mindset shifts
(01:05):
and practical techniques that you can use to really build
and boost your confidence, but also to be taken more seriously.
And I want to talk about why this is important,
and then of course we'll dive in. So before we
do that, big thanks for being here. Everything that this
episode includes is taken from my program, The Confident Reader Mastermind.
(01:26):
So if you'd like to build your confidence as a
Taro reader and an intuitive and really step into that
next level of self trust with your gifts, and of
course take yourself seriously as a reader, dive in and
join us. We meet twice a month on Zoom. There's
a beautiful Facebook community, and there's also a huge library
of trainings and mindset sessions that are just waiting for
(01:47):
you to dive in. All levels are welcome. You just
have to have the intention to take yourself seriously as
a reader and give magical readings with confidence. So the
reason this is so important I think now, Well, in
fact it's not. I think I know, with everything that's
going on at the moment, people need, you know, empowering,
(02:08):
people need inspiring. People need readers who are gonna empower them, right,
They're going to sort of give them strong guidance and
help them reconnect with their power, navigate situations, and also
move forward powerfully. I don't think there's ever been a
time where, you know, wishy washy readers were particularly needed,
but I think now is definitely not the time, right.
(02:30):
So now is not the time to be playing small
with your gifts, holding yourself back and being wishy washy, right.
This is really about you, I would say, stepping up
and if you feel called to be a reader, or
you're already a reader, this is really about you going
to that next level where you take yourself seriously and
others take you seriously as well. They see you as
(02:52):
a source of inspiration, guidance, and a place to go
to be empowered. Okay, empowered, not enable. Empowered. A true
reading is really about empowering your client to take their
power back, move forward powerfully, and most importantly, really embrace
the magic that's within them. So I'm going to teach
(03:12):
you how to start doing that, or how to level
up if you're already doing that in this episode. So
just take a beautiful deep breath for me, and I'd
like you to just set the intention that you're open
to the messages that you most need right now. And
let's dive in. So the first piece I've got for
you is this is really about you taking yourself seriously.
(03:34):
Now we'll go into this in a bit more detail
in a second, but this is really the key. Being
taken seriously as a Tarot and intuitive reader actually starts
as a decision that you make with yourself. If you
don't take yourself seriously, other people will not do that
as well, Right, they just won't. They'll pick up on it.
(03:54):
So taking yourself seriously comes down to a few things. One,
it comes down to making a commitment to regularly practice
and skill build and develop, so on a practical level,
it also comes down to you seeing yourself as a
gifted person who has magic to share with others. Right,
(04:14):
But it also comes down to you showing up consistently
for yourself. So for example, right, an example, for example,
an example, let me do that again. For example, something
I often say in the Confident Reader sessions and my
workshops is think about any singer that you like, or
any athlete or actor. Right, they have not just shown
(04:36):
up the day of the performance or concert or match.
They've been practicing, resting, developing, going to lessons. Right, seeing
a team of people to help them be at their best.
And it's the same thing with you. Right if you're
not doing any kind of development, you're not doing any
kind of practice or showing up regularly for yourself and
(04:58):
building those skills, you will read. You will not be
feeling confident and taking yourself seriously because you're not showing
up for yourself. So it's really about you making that
commitment to practice regularly, skill build, learn techniques and methods,
and really again take yourself seriously. Another piece I'll add
to this, and we'll talk about this a little bit
(05:18):
more in this session is connecting with people to pull
you forward. Okay, connecting with people to pull you forward
I mentor people around the world in my program, The
Confident Reader Mastermind. I also teach taro and intuitive skills
in the program, and of course we do tons of
work on mindset as well. So when you join the program,
(05:40):
you know you get to work with someone who is
already doing this, but also you get to be in
that space where it's just about you building your skills,
building your confidence, and of course learning and growing. Okay,
So the first piece is you taking yourself seriously and
making that commitment to yourself. I'd like to ask you
a little coaching question, so you can rephrase this as
(06:02):
you need to. But think about this. If I took
myself seriously as a taro and intuitive reader, what would
I start doing and what would I stop doing? Okay,
if I took myself seriously, or you can say more
seriously as a taro and intuitive reader, what would I
start doing and what would I stop doing? Now? I
(06:24):
have some ideas I'd like to share with you, but
the most important thing here is what comes up for you.
Next piece in how to be taken seriously as a
taro and intuitive reader is very practical and something I'm
very passionate about. And this is really about you knowing
the cards in depth and how to read them. This
is not about googling meanings, learning bullet points or general
(06:46):
vague meanings that can be applied to anything. Yawn, right,
that's not a reading. My students are laughing because I
say that a lot in our sessions. But this is
really about you, again, showing up for yourself and your craft.
Learn the cards. Learning the meanings of the cards, of course,
but learning the symbols in the cards, the different ways
that you can read each card in different situations, different
(07:10):
ways you can use the symbols in readings. By knowing
the cards deeply and connecting with them and having a
relationship with them, you're going to be adding a new
depth of confidence and magic to your readings. That is
an absolute game changer. Okay, In our last group session
in the Confident Reader Mastermind, I did, I think it
was like an hour just on this topic. I show
(07:33):
different ways you can get to know each of the cards,
especially the ones you don't like or aren't comfortable with,
which kind of takes me into the next piece of
this strategy. Right, it's not about you having some cards
that you love reading and other cards that you feel
uncomfortable about or not sure how to read. You're not
going to be taken seriously if you have that energy,
(07:55):
because that doesn't show that you take yourself seriously. Instead,
I want you to make commitment to get to know
all of the cards, not in general, bullet pointed ways.
We're not doing that, in deep, magical ways, especially the
cards that you don't like or you're not comfortable with.
There's a lot of growth and magic for you, especially
in the areas that you don't like. I promise you. Okay,
(08:17):
when you make that commitment to get to know the cards,
to understand the symbols and the cards, to understand the
stories in the cards, you can connect that to your client,
to that question, to their situation, to the reading in
really magical, profound ways. Something actually happened in our I
think it was last week or the week before, in
(08:37):
one of our Mastermind sessions. A client, amazing client, I
just adore her so much. You know who you are.
By the way, if you're listening, I'm sending you the
biggest hug. She asked a question about one of the cards,
and we have this incredible breakthrough in terms of the
card and the messages and how it can be used
in readings. So that's another piece I want to give
(08:58):
you as well, is understanding that the card cards aren't static. Right.
It's not a case of oh, I've learned one bullet
point for this card or one general meaning that's it. No,
it's not about that. See the cards as like dear
friends that are there to add value and messages and
beauty to each situation and reading. Okay, and when you
(09:18):
do that, you will be taken much more seriously because
anybody receiving or reading from you, or watching your readings,
will know that you really know your stuff. Now, inside
the Confident Reader Mastermind, we do tons of practical work
like this. It's very fun, very inspiring, very empowering, but
it's very practical, and I show you how to do
(09:39):
daily exercises at home to get to know each card,
tell the stories, and learn the symbols and you can
immediately apply these to your readings. Next piece for you
here is to understand and trust and use your gifts. Okay,
to understand, trust and use your gifts. The thing that
makes the reading magical is you, the reader. The cards
(10:02):
by themselves are just cards. They're powerful, beautiful tools, but
without you, they're just cards sat there on a table. Right,
anybody can google card meanings and look at general bullet points. Again,
that's a lot of reading. The magic of a reading
is you and your gifts, and inside the Confident Reader Mastermind,
we do a lot of coaching around you, getting clear
(10:24):
on what your intuitive gifts are, what your style is
as a reader, and how to lean in and develop
and really embody that because that's also a powerful way
to really be taken seriously as a reader. Right, When
you know what your gifts are and you lean into
your strengths and you use them, you will be amazed
at the new depth and magic that your readings take.
(10:47):
I'm very blunt and direct as a reader. I also
have a very cheeky sense of humor, so I blend
the two. But I'm also deeply intuitive. I see things,
I feel things. I can read the cards on any
topic and situation using my gifts, and my clients will
regularly say to me, I need you to be really
blunt with me. I always joke back, I'm like, not
a problem. Right. We'll talk about this a little bit
(11:09):
more later in this session, but this is really about
you understanding what your gifts are and using them in
a session. It's not just about reading the cards in
a general way. It's about understanding your gifts. And I
mentioned this in a previous episode, but I want to
repeat this. Your intuition is the key, because your intuition
(11:31):
will show you on the tarot card, what symbol is
jumping out at you to that client, what part of
the card is screaming at you. Maybe not screaming, but
you know, pointing at you. Whatever, your intuition will connect
you with other messages that that client needs to hear,
and that card is sort of like the prompt for it. Okay,
think of your intuition and gifts as being like the
(11:51):
sort of life force of the reading, and the cards
are the tools. The next piece is tell the client
what they need need to hear above what they want
to hear. Now. I know this is a tough one
for a lot of people, especially if you're kind of
a people pleaser, but I promise you this is such
a game changer. Okay. If you are doing readings where
(12:15):
you're enabling people and you're just telling them what they
want to hear, and you agree with everything and you
tell everybody, you know, basically like what they kind of
just want to hear, you are not taking yourself seriously,
and you're actually not taking the client seriously because you're
kind of in this like really kind of like messy
people please the energy, and it's not going to help
your client at all. What you want to do instead
(12:38):
is tell the client what they need to hear. Inside
the confident reader, mastermind. We have a phrase we use
in sessions, right, and it's just share the message pape,
share the intuitive message. You're receiving the client and share
the message that the cards are giving for the client
as well. And that's above, and that's over and above
any need you have to impress the client, be liked
(13:00):
or be approved of. Your client is booking a reading
with you to receive a reading. They're not booking a
reading to be enabled, even if they think they are,
I promise you they're not. So a big piece here
for you to be taken seriously as a reader is
to tell your client what they need to hear. Now,
of course we say it with kindness, we say it
with love, We say it in a way that empowers
(13:22):
the client. But we don't just sit there nodding and
agreeing and telling them what they want to hear. We
tell them what they need to hear. I'll give you
an example of this. There's a lot of coaching on
this inside the Confident Reader Mastermind, particularly around coaching your
client to take their power back. So if your client
is asking will my book be successful, and you just
(13:44):
do some cards and go asking the amazing babe, that's
not actually very powerful or I would say helpful reading.
What I always do is I say to the client,
let's take a look at what you most need to
know about making your book successful. So you're putting the
client back in their power. Will I meet someone becomes
What can I do to increase my chances of meeting
(14:06):
a great partner? For me, it's about taking your client
from a place of maybe wanting like an outside force
to sort of give them some kind of thumbs up
to reminding them that they are the magic in their
own life. And that includes times where you are going
to say to your client, you know, this is about
you taking your power back. It's about you taking these
(14:26):
steps forward, etc. Right, So you're telling your client what
they need to hear to get them what they want,
not what they want to hear as well. Okay. Bonus
one for you here is stop doing free or cheap readings.
Stop it, Okay, nobody who takes themselves seriously as a professional,
as a gifted person is doing free readings. It screams
(14:50):
no self worth and it screams I'm not very confident
with my gifts, so I'm going to do lots of
free readings so people like me and maybe they'll book. Okay, seriously, stop.
If you have a situation where, let's say somebody you
want to give someone a reading, like it's a really
close friend or a family member, and you don't want
to be paid for it. That's very different, right, like
(15:11):
if you're actively choosing to do that as a gift. Different.
But letting people ask you for free readings cheapens your
worth and your value. It also kind of erodes your
self trust, right because you're being too available for people who,
quite frankly, are not really even taking the reading very seriously.
So charging well for your readings is also a really
(15:33):
great way of you taking yourself seriously, linking us back
to part one, but also being taken seriously as a reader.
I promise you the right people will happily pay you
very well for your readings when you take yourself seriously,
when you share messages that they need to hear, and
most importantly, when you give them a magical, empowering reading.
(15:54):
Doing free or super low end readings is going to
just attract people who probably are really taking the reading
that seriously. You'll feel drained. And also it's kind of
like saying I'm going to go to the gym when
I get strong. It doesn't work like that. You have
to go to the gym to get strong. So you
need to start acting like you take yourself seriously to
(16:16):
support that. Right, think about the piece in this week's
Tarot and Intuitive reading where I talk about the Night
of Pentacles. It's about taking the mindset work and embodying it.
And that's a really key piece for you here right.
Doing cheap readings or free readings, it's not a way
to be taken seriously, and it's also not fair on
(16:36):
you and your energy. I'm going to add another piece
to this right because I knew this would happen, I
should have called it five ways. Anyway, Next bonus for you,
that's a really quick technique. By the way, I do
when I think of more things I want to add
into the session but I haven't written in my notes,
I call it a bonus anyway. Next bonus is have
boundaries around your readings. Seriously, we do tons of coaching
(16:58):
on this inside the Confident Reader master Mind. So if
this is resonating with you already, just dive in. There's
a huge library of trainings waiting for you. We meet
twice a month on zoom beautiful Facebook community. Just dive
in or reach out for you've got questions. But the
next one is having boundaries right. So if you, for example,
like let's say your client books are thirteen minute reading
with you, you need to wrap up at the thirty minute
(17:22):
mark rather than letting your client carry on asking you
loads of questions. I don't for a moment think that
there's bad intention there. But this is about you respecting
your energy and your time and you deserving to be
paid for your time and your energy and your gifts.
If you do very long readings and you let people
(17:42):
go massively over and you're just pouring out energy, you're
going to be exhausted, I promise you, and you won't
be taken seriously because it shows a lack of self worse,
and it shows a lack of taking yourself seriously. If
you're doing free, cheap or very low boundary readings, people
might say, oh, that was great, But I promise you
(18:03):
it's you're not going to be taken seriously and that's
going to have an impact on how you see yourself,
how steal about yourself and your self concepts. So, for example,
to sort of to give you something empowering to do there,
you know, start wrapping up on time. If you're doing
a thirty minute session of a thirty minute reading for
a client. Something I teach inside the Confident Reader Mastermind
(18:23):
is how to run sessions with confidence, how to start them,
how to open them, what to say, how to wrap up.
But I'll model it for you. So let's say your
client's booked a thirty minute reading and it's now, you know,
twenty seven minutes past. You just take a breath and
you just say, we've got a few minutes left. You know,
we can we can wrap up here, or if you'd like,
(18:44):
you can book more. That's another technique I teach. We'll
talk about that, you know, probably in another episode. But
the point here is you want to let them know
we've got a few minutes left, and then we need
to wrap up. If they want to carry on asking questions,
they can do that for the time that they've booked,
because that's also a way of you showing that you
take yourself and your time seriously. What I would not
(19:05):
recommend that you do is let's say they have book
thirty minutes and then, you know, mid sentence, in the
middle of an important reading or topic, you just go, okay,
time's up. Like that's not nice or kind or in
my opinion, good practice right. It's about giving the client
a respectful amount of time to either wrap up or
make a decision if they'd like to book more. And
(19:27):
I promise you just little shifts like that will really
help you to take yourselves more seriously and your clients
will take you seriously as well, because they'll know that
you respect your time. Okay, I could go on. I've
got more ideas coming to me, but for the sake
of time, let's complete here. I hope this was helpful
for you. Let me know your biggest takeaway from this session,
(19:47):
and most importantly, let me know what you're going to
do this week to really step into your confidence as
a reader, and what you're going to do to start
taking yourself more seriously as well. Now, as I've said
a few times in this episode, if this is resonating
with you, if you're ready to take yourself far more
seriously as a reader, as an intuitive and you'd like
(20:09):
to learn the skills and the techniques and the confidence
to help take you there, reach out. The Confident Reader
Mastermind is definitely the place for you. There's a beautiful
library of recordings you can dive into unique twice a
month on Zoom there's tarot workshops we do in addition
to our classes, plus there's a gorgeous group of people
as well. All levels are welcome, you just have to
(20:30):
have the intention to really level up your skills and
your confidence as well. And sending you magic and blessings
for a beautiful week full of lots of good news,
happy surprises and smooth, easy manifestations.
