the Nerdiverse.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Welcome back Nerdiverse, as we reached the end of all
things twenty twenty five, here with another episode of Masters
and Nerdiverse podcast, where we always have such sights to
show you. I'm, of course, the Master of the Nerdiverse,
Mike g and with me is always is the Master
of the nerd of Verse, the Jedi counselor himself, the

(01:09):
man we simply call wash. What's going on, sir, what up?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
We made it? We're here. It's the ends of the years,
the years we made it of all the end of
all years. Is the end of all years. That the
twenty twenty fifth century of the year. You know, we
won't see another twenty five, you know what I mean. Well, well,
hopefully we'll see another twenty five, but twenty one to

(01:36):
twenty five we won't see. So this is the years
for us.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
This is the absolute years. And if we do see
twenty one twenty five, then something has gone horribly wrong.

Speaker 3 (01:49):
I mean, I'm okay with it, but like I you know,
I guess I wasn't thinking about my AIO, my future
AI over lords, and he'll be around bring us so he.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Be super around.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Dude may be able to transform me into a rock
and I just sit there and they're like, yeah, man,
you can look at things your love.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
Though, I would be super down to be like a
living like doc or something, you know what I mean.
Just turned me into a dock and I can just
watch the water all day.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
Bro. You know, you never know. With our overlower, it's
anything as possible. So when we talk AE hundred years
into the future, I wonder what those movies will look like.

Speaker 1 (02:31):
It's just an experienced dog. You just inject the movie
into your veins and you wake up in Hogwarts stuff.
You are the movie.

Speaker 3 (02:40):
You think people still be mad at the Last Jedi
at one hundred years.

Speaker 1 (02:44):
I would have hoped not. If people are still mad
about the last Jedi one hundred years from now, we've
done something extremely wrong, Like things aren't the way they
should be, Doug. If that's a problem.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
You know, after we get done with this stream, we
have to think back when some of the what is
one hundred years in nineteen twenty five we are in
the movie times? Because I do have some of them
getting close to those years on the Rebels Collectibles Archive website,
and I was thinking, it's like nineteen forty. I have

(03:22):
a couple of like nineteen forty Westerns, fifty Westerns, and
it's like, yeah, these movies are almost a hundred years old.
That's wild to think about.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
Man, we were just talking about Nosferatu not too long ago.
Did that come out like nineteen nineteen or something?

Speaker 3 (03:42):
Nineteen nineteen, Yeah, nineteen nineteen or eighteen. Yeah, you have
a valid point. It's like he really was he really
Dracula or was he Dracula's nephew.

Speaker 1 (03:57):
That was Jacqueline's couzin. No, I'm telling you there's some
two hundred year old like immortal who's still pissed about Nosferazzi.
It's like like, there's gonna be some three there's gonna
be some three thousand year old immortal who's still mad
about Last Jedi on the super internets.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
You know, misrepresentation, bro, misrepresentation, it stays with you. I
wouldn't be surprised if Bruce Lee's upset about his reimagining
and that damn Hitman game one hundred years from now.
I was like, I can't believe they did that.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
They're gonna bring back Boostlee through the magic of AI.
He's just the first thing he's gonna say is what
was that game? He's gonna say, what y'all do?

Speaker 3 (04:40):
What y'all do?

Speaker 1 (04:43):
Brandon Lee's gonna be right there, Yeah, what y'all do
to my dad? Dude? You know they both didn't having
just pissed thinking.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Of Brandon Lee. There was a great meme the other
day that showed all the Crow movies. I did not
realize that we are up the like eight or nine Crow. Yeah,
this stage. There are a ton of these things and
I have not seen at least like the last five
of them.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
So any good any other rote pro tip? Just watch one,
Just just just watch one. There's one with Edward Furlong
in it. Bro, We're not doing that. And it's not
even like kid Edward Furlong. It's it's he's seen Better
Days Edward furl.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
Oh damn and told that.

Speaker 1 (05:29):
I guess, yeah, it's like Corey Feldman in two thousands
Edward Furlong. But you know what I'm saying. Uh, Speaking
of movies, we are going to be talking about all
things pop culture for the twenty twenty five MLTN Awards,
Best of the Best of the Best, Sir with Honors.
So we have a couple of categories up for discussion

(05:51):
that we're gonna be giving wash his picks. We're gonna
be my picks. And just to go over the categories,
I have them listed right yeah, uh, go ahead and
just give you that beautiful list. So it's split in half.
Half of the list is the past, the other half
is the future. So we're gonna be going over best Movie,

(06:13):
Best Video Game of twenty twenty five, Best Episode of MLTN,
which is a I wanted to just add that just
as some love to the channel, but also we're gonna
be doing most Anticipated Game of twenty twenty six, Most
Anticipated Movie of twenty twenty six, and what is our
most anticipated content of twenty twenty six watch? What are

(06:35):
your thoughts on these categories? Is there anyone that's standing
out that you're excited to talk about.

Speaker 4 (06:41):
I'll say the hardest one for me was most anticipated
movie because there are some bangers coming out next year.
But at the same time, I don't know if excited
is the word or anticipated is exactly the word I
use for it majority of them, so that was a

(07:02):
default one. But no, it was a good list. It
was good to think back on the year. Maybe next
year we'll have an mlt in books or comic books
section in there, so you know, our fellow literaries can
be can be represented. And yeah, I can talk about

(07:23):
High Republic because Marciano.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
I got to say in that last sentence, you literally
sounded like Galvatron. On my end, you were You're a
roboting deep in slow So I don't know if it's
if it's you got it, You're like wa wash was
like perimeter to shells disrupted. My equilibrium destabilized. See if

(07:54):
that helps. Yeah, you were coming in like Galvatron bro,
which was tight.

Speaker 4 (07:59):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
There, you're a lot better. I think you're back. You're like.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Can can I can hear you?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Can you hear me? Yeah? But I think it's coming
through your your system mike, and not your headset. Mm.

Speaker 3 (08:25):
We haven't had that issue before.

Speaker 1 (08:27):
No worries, it's just coming. I get hearing you. You're clear,
just coming in a little faint, that's the only thing.
All right.

Speaker 3 (08:33):
I will keep an eye out on what is going
on over in these perchs.

Speaker 1 (08:38):
No worries, but you are coming in clear now, you
know you You're You're not You're no longer a Decepticon.

Speaker 3 (08:48):
Yes, I seem to have a Wi Fi connection issue
happening right now. Are you getting me currently?

Speaker 1 (08:57):
I am getting you. You're coming in your cameras a
little stuttered, but I'm hearing you loud and clears. It
just doesn't sound like it's coming from your headset.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Yes, go on, I will go ahead and deal with
this because there is something strange going on, because I
have a back and forth happening in my head set.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
I'll talk about the most like best game you mentioned,
best movie, and like just overall, just different categories for
next year. Yeah, I'm kind of an allusion to my
most anticipated content. We will be dipping our toes into
the comic book arena in twenty twenty six for MLT again,
So I'm really looking forward to speaking more comics in

(09:44):
the future, more content. There's different avenues of content. Comments.
I want to do music. I don't know if you're
down to talk music, but I'm super down to talk music.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
You know, music is not really my genre. I'm a
big fan of silence. So no, I do not be
jamming out too much in the later days and later
years of of my of these of these.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Times, no worries. But there are definitely gonna be some
branches of content for MLT and going to twenty twenty
six that I'm very excited for. And I may just
have to throw a CD your away. We have to
fix that. We have to just put some well, we
have to do like, uh, you.

Speaker 3 (10:33):
Know, a soundtrack thing, give her tag. You're talking about
the Black Samurai, the Last Samurai, the Samurai, well, the
the dog Dog Dog Dog. Yeah, you know what I mean.
So we can throw something in there.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
But yeah, the kill Bill soundtrack, Man is goaded man, Yeah,
you know. But let's get into these categories, shall we.
Let's talk. Let's just go into our first category, which
is best movie of twenty twenty five. Now let me
set the rules here. This doesn't have to be a

(11:11):
movie that was in twenty twenty five. It is the
best movie either of us have seen in the year
twenty twenty five. So it could be Nosferatu for that matter,
if that's what you saw this year. You know what
I mean. It's our favorite movie, the favorite bit of
cinema that we've just cinema that we've digested, and we

(11:31):
want to talk about it. So Wash, are you ready
to go into this list?

Speaker 3 (11:34):
Yes, sir, Yes, sir, yah am, I coming in a
tad bit clearer.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
Now, no, you're you're golden. Now you're going. I gotcha,
all right, beautiful, beautiful. So Wash His pick for best
movie of twenty twenty five is the Super Mario Brothers
movie Wash Take us Away.

Speaker 3 (11:51):
Why, here's the deal. Best movie. We watched quite a
few movies. I watched some movies a mile. I know
you watch movies on your own. So when we're picking
this list. You got everything from Random Select the Horror
to Super Mario Brothers in there. And when I had

(12:12):
to make my choice because you sent me the categories
and I just thought about it. I didn't really look
at any of our past work this year, and I
have to be honest, I know we don't really do them,
but I'm throwing out an honorable mention. It's my choice.

(12:33):
I'm throwing it out there. Astro Boy was on this list. Man.
Astro Boy has stayed with me all freakame year, and
we watched that thing in like June or May or something.
It was a while ago. So it came down the
Super Mario Brothers. Not because it is stayed with me,

(12:53):
because honestly, I think about Astro Boy Astro Boy more
than I think about the Super Mario Brothers movie. But
whenever I do think about this movie or it's brought up,
I just get feels like a smile comes to my faith.
I get happy. I remember how, just like Man, I

(13:17):
wasn't expecting any of this to be happening on the
screen right now, and most certainly me not to enjoy it.
Twenty twenty three, So since this came out and for
me to I mean, our hands had to be forced
to watch this thing. We have to put it on
the docket to watch it. And so for me to

(13:39):
walk away and just be just blown away at what
is on screen or doing the screen. Yeah, that's that
kind of topped it with the feels, with the animation style,
with the music, with all of the Mario just love.

Speaker 1 (14:03):
What do you say to that it was made of
love like that? How often do you get movies that
you could just feel the love?

Speaker 3 (14:11):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Like I said before, with this movie, it feels like
Nintendo were literally there for every for every day of
of creation. They're there every single day, like making sure
that you weren't messing this up, and you can feel.
Some call it love, some may call it micromanaging. Either way,

(14:33):
you're getting perfection because that's that's the gold standard that
they're kind of keeping at Nintendo. They run a tight ship.
So every single molecule of this movie is decades of
Mario love and lore. And like you said, we had
to armors were firmly bent behind our backs to watch
this damn movie. I had no desire. I was just like,

(14:55):
you know, whatever, we.

Speaker 3 (14:57):
Even after we talked about it, We talked about it
on a live and then like, well we should do that. Yeah,
and then and it's like what are we doing. It's like,
let's do Super Mario Brothers. And you were still like, Mann,
we just did it, like we gotta do it.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
We gotta do it.

Speaker 3 (15:17):
Man.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
I love like we A lot of our content comes organically, right.
It's just like, why haven't we seen that Godzilla? You know,
shoutouts to Godzilla minus one? That was That was kind
of if I had to have an honorable mention, it's
that movie because I had zero desire to watch that
movie until it became real, And just like this movie,

(15:40):
I had zero desire to watch it. But I think
about this all the time and it just gives me
hope for future, like future anticipated movies. Next year Galaxy
comes out. I don't know what that's gonna be.

Speaker 3 (15:52):
I don't I do not know, but I will just do.
You know, let everyone know that is not my most
anticipated movie, simply be cus that trailer. I thought about it,
But that trailer, man, it's just it's not it's not great.

Speaker 1 (16:09):
It's not gonna grab me too. You're in the seat, Doug.

Speaker 3 (16:11):
You said pig. No one wanted Chris Prett. Are you
like Chris Prad? Worst thing ever? You know it's gonna
be worse than nineteen eighty nine, And it's like, no,
this thing is a billion dollars.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Billion dollars. That's the same with twenty twenty five is
billion dollars. Doug, Oh, what is my pick? Mike's pick
of film twenty twenty five? Surprisingly out of all everything
we've seen, everything I've seen Predator, Badlands. Dude, you may say,
but Mike, you gave Fantastic four first Steps like a

(16:44):
five five out of five. Dude, you gave Superman a
four point five out of five. You did the random
select where you loved Periperbly? You know what I'm saying,
where you loved You know what I'm saying. God's mind?
Why is this movie the one that is gonna take
my pick for the best movie of twenty twenty five?

(17:07):
Simply because I haven't seen a movie in a very
long time that delivers and exceeds expectations. Right, I went
into Fantastic Four with the lowest expectation I was. You remember,
I was super worried about that movie, you know what
I mean? Just because of everything that was tied to
it ended up being great. I went into Superman with

(17:29):
kind of tempered expectations. James Gunn, you're wearing the shirt.
It's beautiful. I'm mad. I want it, you know. I
just literally just did the un once It's skill and
boxing of the Superman this weekend, you know what I mean.
Loved that movie. But Predator Badlands had such a strong

(17:49):
predigree behind it, with the recent content from Aliens and
Predator and Dan Trachtenberg and there've been nothing but fire
Alien Earth was goding, dude. You know, Killer of Killers
was amazing. So I had the highest expectations for this
movie and this ended up being Predator Avatar. This movie

(18:11):
was kicking as the second it started. I call it
the little Predator that could, you know what I mean.
This guy, he's an underdog, He is a whelp. He
is not the biggest or strongest Predator, but damn it,
he tries and for once in the entire series, they
flip it on his head. Most of the time, the
Predator is the antagonist. He is the aggressor. He is

(18:36):
the one that stalks us. But now in this film,
this poor guy, he literally gets on the planet and
second one, he is prey, he is hunted, his weapons
are taken away, he is on the backfoot, and you
root for him. And it's weird because you're like, man,
why am I rooting for the villain and the transformation

(18:56):
this guy makes throughout the film. He is my favorite
predator of all time, beating out Jungle Predator, beating out City,
even beating off the wolf from Predator rec Raem, which
was super sick. This movie had so much action, It
had so much like sort like wordless storytelling. This dude
spoke yatchaa the entire film with subtitles, and it's like

(19:19):
for having a conversation with a predator and we care
that's that's a feet all into itself.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
You know, it's like having a having a conversation with
a hungry lion.

Speaker 1 (19:30):
Right, It's like having a conversation with a wookie. You
know what I'm saying, Like this stick just may slapped
the shit out of me. You know, you don't know
what's gonna happen, right, and it it held its cards
where it needed to. It didn't jump the shark I,
which I was scared of. It was perfectly paced and
within its own uh in it within its own race,

(19:53):
and it was just the most exciting movie I've seen
in a very long time. And I don't everything I've seen.
This is my number one.

Speaker 3 (20:01):
Did they leave room for part two to this?

Speaker 1 (20:05):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (20:06):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
It ends with the hell of a cliffhanger, which makes
you remember the end of Uh. It's like it had
a cliffhanger, like like the end of Infinity War where
it's like, oh, oh snap, this is what's coming, this
is what we're gonna get, you know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (20:25):
We talked about that this year. It's hard to get
a good cliffhanger go in these days, like a true,
true cliffhanger. So that's that's excellent to hear. Hopefully it
gets made. God bless a cliffhanger. And then like yeah
that projects can projects.

Speaker 1 (20:41):
Dead never get No, I have what I'm emotionally invested.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
What do I do?

Speaker 1 (20:49):
That's actually funny because we're gonna be talking about that
kind of in our next category, which is best Game
of twenty twenty five. This one was hard. This was
a bit hard for me because I didn't play a lot, right,
I'm oder I don't get to play a lot, but
the games I did play. I loved. So are you
ready to talk about your best game of twenty twenty five?

Speaker 3 (21:10):
We can do that.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
We can do that. Yes, we can watch his pick
for twenty fing twenty five twenty twenty four Star Wars
Outlaws take it Away.

Speaker 3 (21:22):
Man, dude, this game has taken over my life as
I last spoke here on the podcast three weeks ago.
So yeah, kind of no life. Yeah, and that's kind
of what's happened. I'm thirty hours into this thing still
I'm on the second planet. But honestly, I was like, yeah,
there's still got a bunch of stuff on this first

(21:43):
planet that I'm just killing around with with thirty hours
in so I have I think about this game. I've
woken up at three o'clock in the morning and been like,
you know what, I think, I'm just gonna go play
some Outlaws real quick. I have got done with work
and had life responsibilities and been like yeah, and I

(22:06):
pulled all the blind shut and there goes four or
five hours just done, and I'm like, oh, well, life
responsibilities tomorrow. Maybe tomorrow I'm thinking about Outlaws. So for me,
I know it's a twenty twenty four pick. I did
play some games this year. I played some good games
this year. Actually, Persona Acts on an app gets a

(22:27):
huge shout out because that game's freaking amazing for what
they put in this little freaking phone and how it
looks and plays like a Persona game. But Star Wars
Outlaws gets me too. Star Wars like nothing quite has
in in video games. Like when I played Survivor, you

(22:50):
don't feel the world necessarily. And I'm currently in the
middle of a run of Old Republic right, But that's
I don't want to call it dated, but it's a
still RPG. It's it's very still in its in its presentation.
I am literally breathing living in freaking Star Wars and Outlaws.

(23:16):
I don't know how anyone hated this game, this game,
even the bad controls, which are said that I said
they're bad. They're bad, but whatever, I don't care. I
don't like stealth games. I find myself enjoying the stealthyness
because of the and how it makes sense. Like today

(23:40):
I just have to turn down the ray and you know,
steal an object, and like I was like, you know what,
Like this is not going well, let's just call it
a day and start putting some holes in people and
what I did, and I got the option that it's
an amazing, an amazing Star Wars event and kve asque

(24:04):
go to it a big fan, big fan of her
as a scoundrel, glad of what they're doing with it. Honestly,
I still don't quite know what this story is or
what's going on in it, as the story kind of
takes a back seat to just how do we want
to call it? Missions like the activities, the experiences and

(24:28):
activities that are available to you. Someone's always looking to
talk to you, There's always a treasure to go steal.
And actually I was gonna ask you this is in
review time, but you know there are treasures everywhere, Like
how how useful? Because it seems like things don't open
up until you get there, you know what I mean.

(24:49):
But you're at your screen and it's a black there's
nothing on your inventory screen, right, and then you do
something and all of a sudden there's something there and
it's like, yeah, you have this now, So I'm like, yeah,
In fact, I left early. I left with like three
health bars and I went wherever I was going, and

(25:11):
I was like, with everything that's on Tshira. I even
though I'm this far in this game, I can't imagine
it's smart for me not to go back and get
a bunch of that stuff.

Speaker 1 (25:23):
You're bouncing back and forth between the planets throughout the
entire experience.

Speaker 3 (25:27):
Until this time. Yeah, all right, So anyway, it's not
a review, but Star Wars Outlaws this is, this is
this is a den for me, Dragon Age really close.

Speaker 1 (25:38):
Yeah. Do you see what I mean when it's like
I want Kves and a live action experience? I want
I want Kyle Kyle Kestie in a live act like
they deserve that space for how fleshed out their characters are.
Do you understand what I mean? You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (25:58):
And I know that there is an l Lost book coming.
I was up peeping at the Star Wars book releases
for twenty twenty six, and there is a Outlaws book coming,
I want to say, in February. So I don't know
what they're going to do with these characters, but I
am agreement with you they are and I guess don't

(26:20):
shoot the messenger. Hey, Old Republic lived on that game
for ever until very very recently. Now, when Lego is
like yeah, Revn's a thing. So you know, hopefully Castus
and Kaves don't fall to the to the digital realm.

(26:40):
But yeah, they're they're great characters, great characters.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
Very good pick, very good pick. Man. You know what
I'm saying, Just amazing game for my pick. Star Wars
Outlast twenty twenty four. I don't know what the damn.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
No spoilers, no.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
Spoilers I got, I understand. So honorable mentioned goes out
to Ghost of Yotay. I played and beat that game
this year as well. Beautiful, excellent game. Played it. You know,
I had one extremely awesome moment and the rest kind
of felt by the numbers. Like as Wash said, this

(27:23):
game was such a surprise to me. I got this
game out of the blue off a whim I had.
I had twenty dollars. I went on it was on
sale and I said, I need something to play in
between games, so I'm just gonna get this Star Wars Outlaws.
And that became every single time we potted, I talked

(27:45):
about it. This game is watched. I don't I don't
know what's up with this game. This game is kind
of crazy. I like the play you know, the play
style is kind of strange. I'm getting used to it.
I hate driving around. I love driving around. You could
just play know Pazzak all day if you wanted to
so much. Sabak. I'm sorry, this Pazzak, in this Sabakh.

(28:07):
You can play Sabaka any all day if you wanted to.
You're you're stuck in between Empire strikes back in Return
of the Jedi, so if you're if you're eagle eyed,
you can. You'll notice that the the gameplay loop is
extremely fun, extremely rewarding, given its flaws. That it's not

(28:28):
a not the best control scheme, given its flaws, that's
a little clunky, but the attention to detail overweigh that
so much that when you first infiltrate a Empire imperial base,
your every hair is up your tents. You don't want
to get caught because.

Speaker 3 (28:47):
You know every time every time you're near an imperial
base or sneaking through anywhere, you're kind of like, yeah, bro,
this is not cake walk right now, like all hell
can break loose really quickly.

Speaker 1 (29:04):
I'm sorry, but no, I'm right there with you. And
that's what I was telling you, Like I was so
nervous breaking into an imperial base and I flupped it
the first time. I accidentally got spotted by some stupid engineer.
And then when you know those scary star Wars woo
and I'm shooting out guns blazing, I make my escape

(29:25):
and then they unleashed the death troopers and I'm now
I'm getting boy, you have to It's almost like I
mentioned it before, it's almost like a GTA star rating.
It's not something it's not a plot. It's not a plot,
uh device device. It's something that just can happen. If
you piss off the Empire enough, dude, you'll just have

(29:48):
death troopers on you. You can play the whole game
and it never happened. It's one of those things, but
you face against the flying asshole death troopers who are
going to kill you.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
I have not seen the fly, but I've had the
Red Triangle or the like twice now, and I've had
to hide in canyons that were so far up because
they like found me, you know what I mean. And
I literally had to get on my fucking bike and
I'm cruising through and I just want to say, I
am at the very end. I am literally at the

(30:22):
very end of Grand Theft Auto five right. I am
having a much better Grand Theft Auto experience in this
game than I have had in Grand Theft Auto five
throughout my playthrough. In fact, I haven't been able to
finish Grand Theft Atal five because I'm like, you know what,
I'm canceling twitch stream today because I'm playing Star Wars

(30:43):
Outlaws and I'm not doing that stream. So yeah, sorry, folks,
no streams for the last three weeks because yeah.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Have you I know this is this game, but it's
such a good game, so well read a full review.

Speaker 3 (30:57):
When when I when I beat it?

Speaker 1 (30:58):
When you're finished, because I got we'll talk about But
I did want to ask, because you've you've gone through
all of Tashara and you've reached the second planet. Have
you found you know it may be spoilers, I'm not
going to say nothing. I'm not going to say nothing.
But all that to say, this beat out Ghost of
Yota as my favorite game of the year and goes

(31:19):
to Yota is the polished Triple A experience. This game
was shunned and put on the back burner, and this
is the best left letter to Star Wars I've seen
the outside of I'm not your failure. Obi Wan. You
know what I'm saying, Like, this is it when you.

Speaker 3 (31:37):
Talk about Mario being made by Nintendo, like it look,
Star Wars stand here. We know right, Lucasfilm is not
necessarily good with projects. It's as if this thing was
made in a black box and no one knew about
it until a couple of people came out and they're like, yeah,

(31:59):
we do something. Hm, take a look and see if
you like it. And they were like, yeah, okay, let's
do this. And because Lucasfilm messes things up, and this
is so enjoyable, it's so fun, it's so addictive that

(32:20):
it's like, I don't think Lucasfilm necessarily had a huge hand.
They had someone in the room, but that someone was like, yeah,
we're not gonna tell them, don't tell anybody about that.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
Just let them cook the cook don't go in the
kitchen until they say dinner is ready. And like you said,
it just felt like this was made in a vacuum
by all the biggest Star Wars nerds over at Ubisoft,
and they were like, we can't tell nobody about this.
Just make it. It's done. You can't unmake it here, it's.

Speaker 3 (32:53):
They couldn't get the control guy without blowing the whole
thing up, right, They had to get the guy to
do just someone there. We're gonna get you to do
the controls because I don't want to you know, gender
guy girl could have been either whatever at any rate,
like the normal Ubi sauce assassin's creed guy. That dude
has a big mouth. So they're like, yeah, we can't now.

Speaker 1 (33:13):
We can't talk to him. Hey, you guys got the
penny saver. This is higher control guy. Don't even tell
him what he's working on, and just have him built
the controls and we'll figure out the rest. We'll make
it work. Oh. I love this game so much. That's
we We are a complete agreement. This game is I'm
so what you know what just makes the game to
the year, and I know we got to move on

(33:33):
that I introduced it to you and you love it.
It's just as much as I do. That that warms
my heart that I was able to introduce you to
this game. That I just you know what I'm saying,
and it's my favorite Star Wars experience of the year.

Speaker 3 (33:46):
I have not I don't have the final total count
of Star Wars books. We're well in the sixties or seventies.
This year. This I haven't until this moment. This is
easily top three Star Wars things I've consumed this year.
And folks, that is saying a lot locked. That is

(34:07):
saying you gotta stack up to hit that list. So yeah,
easily maybe.

Speaker 1 (34:13):
One beautiful, beautiful best best MLT episode of twenty twenty five.
Gotta put we gotta shout out us. I'm so proud
of this podcast. I'm so proud of all of it,
from the very top to the very bottom. Every episode
we're just chugging along, guys, and this is all for you.
This is all for the narrative of Ourse. So very
excited to see what wash. His favorite episode of the

(34:36):
year was his personal favorite, the one he enjoyed. So
you ready to get into your favorite episode?

Speaker 3 (34:41):
There? Yes, I am.

Speaker 1 (34:44):
Perfect m otn Lord the Halo Array. Fun fact, it's
still the worst idea in all of its story. Expound
expound on this episode. Why was it?

Speaker 3 (34:57):
It is still the worst last plan ever created? You
know what I mean? It's like, this is bad and
that's why it made this list. It was a choice
between this and Romero because Romero was just a much
better time than I thought. A lot of screaming in that,
a lot of screaming and dairy two. We need to
talk about that. But Halo Ray one. Because Halo has

(35:26):
been around for twenty five almost thirty years, I'm not
sure I fully ever understood what the hell was going
on in Halo until we did this podcast, and after
going through and consuming a ton of Halo and revisiting
a ton of Halo and having my adult, big, big,

(35:47):
big brain in and going, wow, do we even know
what we're playing right now? Do we know what played
right now? So for me, it was a great conversation,
it was an unexpected it was an unexpected good lore pick.

(36:13):
When you said Halo Array, I was like, all right,
but you know whatever, let's let's do it. And there
was so much meat on the bone that I did
not expect to be there and right now, if you
gave me a badass Halo game to play and they
dropped it tomorrow and they send the new Halo games out,

(36:34):
it's something that I'm extremely excited for. If you told
me there's a Halo television show coming on, not as excited,
But if you gave me a game, I'm there. So yeah,
That's that's why it made the list out of everything
we've done, which was a.

Speaker 1 (36:50):
Lot, which just a lot. We had a lot of
content this year. Yeah, I've always known that Halo Loar
was a bit hinky, but I just had no idea. Right,
It's one of those things where it's like, yeah, you
should read Dune. It was like, maybe I shouldn't because
it's just way too much. And that's a whole year
of my life, right, And when we when we decided

(37:11):
to do this, Hey, when when you decided m moltn verse
because you you chose the lore, you voted for it.
And I was like, well, we're doing the Halo way, bro,
And just like him, I was just like, all right,
I don't know, we'll see. You know, Halo has always
been pup guns, spart hogs and you know, laser swords.
I had no idea the lore went so deep with

(37:32):
this series. And I watched the TV series which didn't
touch this at all, which was crazy.

Speaker 3 (37:38):
To me, completely different show that should be called like
mash ai Ai.

Speaker 1 (37:44):
Mash strong Ai man. You know what I'm saying, Like,
what the hell? And it's like we did this episode
and we were both just taken back. I was taken
back with like, man, we could just keep going, we
can keep talking about this for another hour. We have
to force ourselves stop, which made it a very i
would say unorthodox, but epic MT and lore of all

(38:09):
the ones we did this year twenty twenty five. So
I'm in full agreement that this was an epic episode.

Speaker 3 (38:15):
And again, it's not the most powerful lore we did,
because I think the box came ahead, the Laminon box
came ahead. The one of the other ones we did,
the Hollocron seth Halcron was pretty strong. But as far
as just the entire background of it goes and how
it interwined, it's it's kind of like, damn, oh.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
Oh, so that's what it does.

Speaker 3 (38:42):
Oh yeah, No, Holy snikes, dude, everything's gone, all of it, everything, everything,
every molecule we're we're not here.

Speaker 1 (38:55):
Yeah no, no, I know, I know all of it.
But who wins, No one wins. We all lose. And
in retrospect, it's it's heaven or hell, you know what
I mean. It's because if we're all assumed by the
flood anyway, it's all gone anyway. So what's the effing
point you know what I mean, We could get into it.

(39:16):
We've already talked and watched the episode. It's a beautiful episode,
but one of the best episodes of all time. My
pick for top episode of twenty twenty five. My pick
the top episode of twenty twenty five our Molt and
Halloween double feature special, The Baba Duke twenty twenty four

(39:38):
In the Lighthouse, Dude, I sat, I would this is
the hardest thing to choose, pick your children, right, And
I couldn't just pick random select as an answer. That
wouldn't be fair because how many episodes of random Select
there were. I have to pick a single episode to
be fair, And I was like, what episode stuck with
me the most this year? What episode really bothered me?

(40:01):
Not prepared for the emotional damage. It's the fun fact
for this one is that Wash in his infinite wisdom,
left it to AI to devise its gruesome to some
of movies. And it's almost scientific how these two movies
communicate with each other to make the perfect sense of

(40:22):
dread that just sticks with you, Like the Babada by
itself is dreadful, but it can be subjugated. You can
kind of your brain can kind of take it over.
The Lighthouse by itself is strange and macabre and atmospheric,
but it's not gonna break your brain. But when you

(40:42):
were forced to watch both of these movies back to back,
it does something to It's a weird ass cocktail, bro.
It's like I felt like I after watching these movies,
I felt like I was slipped a Mickey, bro, you know,
like jacked up. I don't know what to tell you.
I felt felt really off in my brain, didn't know
what to do. And in reviewing this with you, I

(41:05):
loved that you felt the same way, like there's something
about this chocolate and peanut butter that's just AI knew
what the hell it was doing. And Bobbydill hit me
at such a crazy moment in my life that it
just redefined that movie for me. And I already saw
The Lighthouse once and was barely paying attention when I
watched it. So when I watched it again this time

(41:27):
with context, the artwork, the beauty, the symbolism, it was
too much. It was It was the perfect distraction for
me in my life right then and there. And I
loved our back and forth on this, and we were
just cracking up this episode because we didn't know what
to make heads and tales of either of these damn movies.
You know what I'm saying. But we all we knew
was that we felt weird, you know what I mean,

(41:49):
That's all we knew.

Speaker 3 (41:50):
And in retrospect, now that time has gone by, uh
more time, Like I'm with you, these two movies, this
double feature still with me is just something that happened
to me my life. Like you know, I saw someone
post something about the Lighthouse and I'm like, yeah, I
watched that. Anybody else watch that And it's like nobody

(42:12):
in the room watched it. It's like, yeah, but you
watch it with the babba Dude, Nah, I bet you
you didn't. I bet you didn't do that as a
double That's shit. And I just want to say shout
out to check GPT because when I made the question,
it was give me a double feature that's going to
leave us with a not an imprint per se, but

(42:35):
something that left us feeling uneasy. And at the time,
I was like, I don't get it. After watching them,
I didn't necessarily get it. Two months later, you know what,
it is still with me. It is still creepy, and
it's still like you want to watch the Babba Dute
in the Lighthouse. No, man, I don't know if I need.

Speaker 1 (42:57):
To feel that again, while Mike manic, Yeah, it's it's
the passion of the Christ syndrome. I saw it. I'm good,
you know what I'm saying. I don't need to experience
that again. And it's not even like either movie. I'll
be down to watch the Bobba Duck on a on
a darkened story night. I may even be down to
watch The Lighthouse, you know, on certain days, but both

(43:20):
is a never again.

Speaker 3 (43:21):
Doug.

Speaker 1 (43:21):
That was like mixing you know, It's like mixing coffee
and coffee in like vodka, where you're you're drunk but
you can't pass out. That's what these movies are. You
drunk but your cant pass out.

Speaker 3 (43:34):
It worked so well that I definitely will ask chet
GPT for whatever our next double featured deal is. I
would definitely ask it because I wouldn't have picked these
two movies, you know what I mean? Like yeah, and
it what's the deal? Double feature? Nah? Like The Tails
from the Crip one and two? Like great?

Speaker 1 (43:55):
Who would have ever picked these two movies? That's why
I love this channel, that's why us. I love our system.
I love only here, only here at MLT and you're
gonna get this And this is why it's my favorite
episode we've done this year. I still think about this.
Shit's it still bothers me. You know what I'm saying,
Most anticipated movie of twenty twenty six. Now we're getting

(44:18):
weird because now we're looking into the future. Now we're
kind of because at the end of next year, one
of these movies may be on this list if it's good,
if it knocks. Do you think that way?

Speaker 3 (44:30):
Wash? I would hope so, I would hope that one
of these movies. I don't know what your movie is,
but I would hope that one that my movie at
least has the potential to make this list. Otherwise all has.

Speaker 1 (44:43):
A speaking of which that should better make the list.
Otherwise our social infrastructure may just fail. And you know
what I'm saying, this movie. If this movie tanks, you know,
and we're talking about to watch this pick for twenty
twenty six, got to fix that. Avengers Doomsday, the big,
big one coming out next year. Why is this got

(45:05):
you excited more than anything else? Uh?

Speaker 3 (45:08):
I didn't say excited? Anticipated? And to anticipate the anticipated
comes in the nature of there were a bunch of
movies that are coming out next year, not all of
which I am super hyped to see. Actually, I do
think I know what you're most anticipated is, and that's
one that I'm like, all right, m Mandalorian Grogu obviously

(45:30):
could have went on this list, but I kind of
know what I'm gonna do with Mandalorian Grogu. I'm gonna
get a bunch of Mandalorians and Jedi blowing stuff up,
blow for two hours, fifteen minutes, and they're gonna wrap
that and be like, yeah, go away, folks, we'll talk
to you next time. This has something like a three

(45:51):
hundred million dollar cast in it, with fifty or sixty
like a A minus B plusers as the cast and Marvel.
I don't want to say it isn't shaking ground because
I don't make these rules. I don't necessarily have a
dog in the fight. But I was a big fan

(46:13):
of in game, and the first one, Part one is
that end game.

Speaker 1 (46:20):
Yeah, technically no, Infinity War was part one Infinity War.

Speaker 3 (46:26):
Big fan of Infinity War, and we haven't quite reached
that mark since we hit it right since it came out,
we haven't quite hit that mark in my opinion. So
for me, if this movie somehow and I don't think
it will, I don't think it's gonna fail. It's in
the Russo brothers hands. It's it may be the same thing.

(46:50):
It may be Phantom or Episode seven, where you're like,
haven't we seen this before?

Speaker 1 (46:57):
Yeah, but we're still clapping a billion dollars like work
billion dollars.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
But if it fails, I just don't don't know what
happens after that. If this thing comes out and it's
it just turns out to not be a good film.
Let's say it it has Black Adam syndrome or eternal syndrome.

Speaker 1 (47:23):
You know likes it's it's mid. What happens if it's mid?

Speaker 3 (47:29):
There are a lot of chips in this basket. Thus
it makes it my most anticipated movie. It's kind of
like a sports team that goes all in on some
crazy ass nonsense and you're like, are we are we
really bringing like Lebron, Luca everybody else in Yeah, we're

(47:50):
gonna do this and did like the Lakers did with
Caerl Malone and Gary Paton Toobe Bryant, and it failed spectacularly.
Is that what's gonna happen? I don't know, but that's
what I'm anticipating, Like, I want to know the answer.
I'm curious. I hope it does well. I want to
see it. I want to know what's gonna happen.

Speaker 1 (48:12):
What I will say about this because I you know
Marvel nerd that I bleed Marvel, I bleed comics. This
movie cannot fail this one. It's what it's seeming like.
They dumped all of their efforts for the past ten
years and are literally starting over. They're saying, all that
stuff we did with Disney, plus all that experiments and

(48:34):
Sam Wilson Captain America and Miss Marvel, we can't rely
on that. Hey, Russo, brothers, we knew you guys knocked
it out the park with Endgame, and you retired from
Marvel Movies. Please come back, please, please come back, save us,
save us from ourselves. Hey Robert Downey Jr. You literally
died on screen. Doug as iron Man, you had the

(48:55):
perfect stend off. You're done. You're done with superhero stuff, Oppenheimer,
all that fun stuff. Please come back. We'll just tell
us a zero. How many zeros do you want It
doesn't even make a lot. How many zeros do you want?
Just come back? Please save us, Save us from ourselves.
They are intentionally leaking their trailers to build hype to

(49:15):
the point where you can't tell if it's real or
not until you see the trailer and it ends up
being real. They are so you could smell the desperation
on this movie, and I love it because desperation equals creativity.
Creativity equals billion dollars. I love that they could smell

(49:36):
their own blood. They're bleeding right now. They could smell
the blood feinowship.

Speaker 3 (49:42):
They're wild blood, and they're like, we can't take this hit.

Speaker 1 (49:46):
Bro Tyson down, Tyson down right. It's like there, for
the very first time in a long time, Marvel bleeds
its own blood. DC is right on their ash. You're
wearing a Superman sorry for Lord its sake. James Gunn
is like, we're doing this. We're going for We're going
for the neck. Supergirl trailers out, they're just rolling things out.

(50:08):
I love the desperation. I love the We gotta make
it work. We gotta get a return to form, and
this movie has to succeed. It has to. They're doing
everything and they're doing anything so it won't be made.
It's it's it's invigorating. I'm sure that we will.

Speaker 3 (50:27):
Talk about it on MLT and UH Live coming up
here in the week. But I am not a big
fan of the trailers that they're doing, like the horrible
one off, the one off trailer. I'm like, again, the anticipation.
It's like, so, if it's doomsday.

Speaker 1 (50:45):
This is what you're doing to you don't know what
theiff is going on.

Speaker 3 (50:50):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (50:51):
I don't know, man, I saw both of them. I
even seen the Secret X Men one that may be
real or maybe not, I don't know, what the hell.
Then that's so desperate, it's I love it. I love
it when oh As I just shout out to Mike Prime,
behold the God who bleeds. You know what I'm saying, Like,
they need to they needed this, they needed to punch

(51:11):
in the mouth to get back on track. And this
is what it feels like. Ah. My most anticipated movie
of twenty twenty six, funny enough, more than Avengers Endgame,
more than Spider Man the New Spider Man that's coming out,
more than any Cape stuff is The Odyssey by by

(51:33):
Christopher Nolan twenty twenty six. And you may say, Mike,
I had never heard you say one thing about the Odyssey.
I never, But I love Greek mythology, I love Greek lore,
I love I love the I've read the Odyssey as
a kid, who didn't. You know what I'm saying, force literature,
and this is a ballsy attempt at a movie. I

(51:55):
hate these not such gross words, but it's ballsy because
it's like there's certain books you don't, right, like certain
books that are so grandiose that how do you make
that into a movie. I used to think what Alison
Wonderland was a book like that movie? Like that, it's
too big, right, That's like I'm saying, you know, Francis

(52:18):
four Coppola directs the Bible, you.

Speaker 3 (52:20):
Know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (52:21):
Like, what, No, We're not doing that? And to see
like Christopher Nolan say, you know what, I'm just gonna
do the Odyssey, dany illiot? You know what I mean? Like,
how do you do that?

Speaker 3 (52:33):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (52:34):
And what I love about it is is that he's
not making he's not making fact, he's making fiction. He's
making it based on the Greek mythology, the Greek lore
so there are gonna be psyclopsists and probably hades and
you know what I'm saying, that the gods and stuff
like that. I don't know what to expect from this movie.

(52:55):
You know what I'm saying. And how how he's saying
he's a big fan the Ray of the Ray, Harry
Hows and movies. One of my favorite movies of all
Time's Clash of the Titans growing up. You know what
I'm saying, Release the krackt and all that good stuff.
So I am extremely excited to see what it once again,
this is another movie that has like a two hundred

(53:16):
million dollar budget. Everybody seems to be in this damn thing.
You know what I'm saying. And I don't know. And
it's Christopher Nolan, you know what I'm saying, So I
it won't be bad because I can't think of the
last time Christopher Nolan has made a bad film. I
can't think of the last time. I even like Tennant.
I just watched TenneT the other day. Made my nose bleeds.

(53:39):
It's convoluted, but it's still a great movie. Yeah, yeah,
I'll go on. Sorry, no, no, I'm good. I was
just gonna say I think this is gonna make awards.
I think it's gonna be good.

Speaker 3 (53:58):
That was exactly what I was looking up. I wanted
to make sure before I spoke. But for me, Nolan
hasn't done like I have not been a big Nolan guy.
Tennant did make my nose bleed, fell asleep within I
don't know, not long. It was not that interesting to
me that the movie with the World War two planes

(54:20):
that everybody loved and up and down for the love
of God, like putting me out of my misery. I
watched that and get Out as a as A as
A as a double seeker.

Speaker 1 (54:31):
Oh nice, OK, yeah, don't don't do that.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
So for me, I I am not stoked. I'm I
think I know what I'm gonna get with this film,
and I think that's going to be, you know, another
kind of I don't want to call it art film,
but one that is in essence and and realism to

(54:56):
the honysty Yes, And what I guess I'm most intrigued
about is that you said he's a fan of the lore,
which makes me a tad bit feel better because I
thought I'm gonna get some sort of freaking just convoluted
gladiator movie. Yeah, when you say he's a fan of
the lore, it's like, oh, maybe there'll be a tad
bit of dark night in here, you know what I mean,

(55:18):
action tad bit of weirdness, a tad been a coolness
going on. But the budget worries me. The honysty itself
worries me, because, yes, Mike, you and I like it. Yes,
we read it in school. Not a ton of people
talking about the Odyssey out there every day on a

(55:39):
on a daily bat. It's an old book. It's a
big book. It's a difficult book to get through, especially
the Greek text. If you want to do that, we're
out good stuff. Don't But yeah, I it's I'm gonna
watch it. I'm gonna sit down and I'm gonna eat
my popcorn. I just don't think I'm that excited this.

Speaker 1 (56:01):
And Imax on the big screen with the with the
freaking sound dog like you know, no one is loves
his sound. This thing is gonna go hard, bro. And
it's they said about dunk Kirt, it's gonna be a Psyclops.
There's gonna be an initial Psyclops in this movie, Doug,
that's done.

Speaker 3 (56:19):
You watch the trailer, Yeah, I've I've not seen the
trailer yet, so I was I was curious how how
it was.

Speaker 1 (56:28):
I like the vibe. It's it's very you ever seen
Kingdom of Kingdom of what is it called Kingdom of God? No,
Kingdom of man Afriget, Kingdom of Heaven. It reminds me
of Kingdom of Heaven mixed with like God of War,
you know what I mean. Like there, it's it's grounded,
but there's it's almost like if I saw a like

(56:50):
in real life, if I just saw a cyclops down
the street, what would that look like? It has that
that camera eye of Nolan, but it also has dumb
stuff going on, like this dude's helmet makes no sense
for the time, right, Like this is not that's not
more accurate. They didn't have that tech golden spinal cords
and stuff like that. But it looks badass, and I'm excited,

(57:12):
file goofy. It looks let Christopher Nolan have fun. Let
him do his ray Harry Housen, you know, have him
do his you know, you know, living skeletons and pegasusts
or whatever's gonna show up in this damn movie. I'm down.
I'm down to have a good time. I know it's
gonna be solid and maybe four hours long. I'm hoping
it's not no crazy run time. But I'm out of

(57:35):
all the Cape stuff where I know what's gonna happen. This,
I have zero idea what's gonna happen, kind of because
I don't know what he's gonna do with it, you
know what I mean. I don't know how he's gonna
approach it, you know. So I'm excited. I don't know.
This is one of those I didn't expect for this
to be my most anticipated film, but here we are.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
I'll say that the one thing about this that I
did like is that it did come out of nowhere.
Like one day they just dropped the Christopher Nolan's doing
the Odyssey, and then this is a dropping the cast, right,
and then it's like if the movie will be out
next year. So it was like a twelve month quick turnaround.
It's not what we're getting with let's say Avengers Endgame,

(58:16):
where right, we got this three hundred million dollar cast.
We're leaking stuff a year ahead of time, trying to build,
Like what build? What are we doing? Have you even
finished this thing yet? It's this thing done. Like what
look at Chris Evans, he's on the baby everybody?

Speaker 1 (58:34):
Like, look at Thor he still has that daughter he
got in the last movie. That's crazy.

Speaker 3 (58:40):
As you said, Christopher Nolan's not going to make a
bad movie.

Speaker 1 (58:45):
So yes, very good, very good. Most Anticipated Game of
twenty twenty six? Video games? What are we playing next year?
I know the one I'm playing. I chose it's a
definite Day one, gonna buy it a second day? Let
me do it. But are ready to talk about you're
about anticipated game of twenty twenty six?

Speaker 3 (59:07):
Yes, I am sure, Yes, let's do it.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
I'm curious because I didn't know this was on your radar.
This was a surprise to me. Double O seven first Light.
What makes you excited about this? Retelling?

Speaker 3 (59:20):
We James bond I talked about this on the Live
or whatnot. They dropped the trailer at whatever award show
it was. And it's the first Double O seven that
we're getting, and it looks better than any freaking Double
O seven as far as the movies go, that we've
gotten in a while. So like, honestly, I want it

(59:42):
as a television show. That's how I am for it.
I remember the trailer. I remember going, damn, you know what,
this looks like a bad ass idea that someone had.
Amazon's got care behind it. Obviously they're doing a retail
and not a retail the first time we get to
see Bond become Bond per se. And you know, well,

(01:00:05):
I guess second, if you count you know, Casino Royale, Yeah,
if you count that, I suppose. I'm thinking this is
earlier than that, because even Cassino Royale, he looks like
he knows what he's doing. For the most part this
he kind of looks like, yeah, you were out of training,
here you go. Good luck. Yeah, first mission type of stuff.

(01:00:28):
So I was stoked. And you know, there's a couple
other big games coming out, and we I don't know
what yours is. I'm assuming I know, because that's what
everybody's excited about. But for me, this popped off the page.
I remember it the trailer. I've seen the footage that

(01:00:48):
they played at the Gameplay Awards.

Speaker 1 (01:00:51):
I want to say they did.

Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
Looks like it's gonna be an awesome shooter and I
don't really like shooters. So yeah, kind of stoked for this.

Speaker 1 (01:01:01):
You know what, I will say. Made by Io interactive,
the people who did the Tumbrator games that I love
so much, you know, the Paral Faral lower Craft. You
know what this game will have is amazing set pieces.
But this game will have is great character action, great
voice acting. My only worry is the game pay loop?

(01:01:21):
What is this going? What is this? Is it going
to be more of like a realized Golden NYE Double
O seven? Is? Are you gonna be able to do
karate chops and park parkre like? How is our Bond
going to interact with his world? Is there gonna be
any vehicles because James One big thing about James Bond
is he loves his Aston Martins. How's the driving gonna be?

(01:01:43):
You know what I mean? Are we flying planes? It's
gonna be inverted controls. I have so many questions about
this game of the way.

Speaker 3 (01:01:51):
You know, Amazon's first touching into games as far as
I am aware.

Speaker 1 (01:01:56):
Like for real touching into games, not no little Rudy
Poom mobile games like for real like Triple A experience. Right,
So I have questions, but that needless to say. I'm
always down for a first outing. I love first outings.
I love seeing new characters Bill because Bond is a mantle.
He's not just a dude. Bond is a mantle. It's like,

(01:02:17):
just as much as Captain America is a mantle, the
Flash is a Mantle.

Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
James.

Speaker 1 (01:02:22):
There are multiple James Bonds throughout the generations.

Speaker 3 (01:02:25):
They even tried to find the new one for like
a decade now, and keep having to go back to
Craig because they're like, yeah, we got nobody else. I
don't want to do it the time, like, yeah, but
you gotta do. He's like, I don't want to do it.

Speaker 1 (01:02:40):
For here's money, bro. Yeah, he's on the Harrison Ford tip.
Just kill my character. Man. That should have killed me
in the Empire? Why am I still floating around? Can
y'all kill me? Now? Kill me down? Please? Sorry that
as Hans Solo, don't want to trigger anybody, but I'm
very excited about the hospital, partly at the prospect of

(01:03:03):
a new Double oh seven license. Like you said, why
hasn't there been a Double oh seven TV series? Wouldn't
that just be easy money?

Speaker 3 (01:03:13):
It's a it's a it's a very protected brand and
it may be to protected, you know what I mean.
But this considering that we haven't even had a bond
movie in five years, ten years, five six years. Yeah,
like it's been a minute, yeah, Like I think it

(01:03:33):
was fresh for me. I'm still looking forward to it.
When I looked at the list of what's coming out,
this is the one where I'm like, you know what,
I'm definitely gonna play it if it comes comes my way,
for sure. I'm not paying seventy five dollars for it.

Speaker 1 (01:03:47):
No, no, no, no, I'm definitely an Xbox Game Pass exclusive.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
Yes, or you get to me for thirty five bucks
on a discount. Let's give it a go. And then
unless it comes out and you know ratings are three
the roof, then we may up for it.

Speaker 1 (01:04:01):
But you know, you know, it's just giving me and
I hate to go back to it. Star Wars, Outlaws Vibes.
People are gonna sleep on this game. They're gonna poo
put it. They're gonna say it's mid and it's gonna
be the best thing since Slice Spread.

Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
I'm hoping.

Speaker 1 (01:04:13):
Quote me, quote me on that, Quote me on that.
My most anticipated game of twenty twenty six is Insomniac
Games Marvel's Wolverine. Now you now, you may say, Mike
g t a six question mark look I'm a red
blooded American guy. Look, I'm gonna play GTA six because

(01:04:35):
I'm contractly obligated by being a human. But it's not
my most anticipated game because I kind of know what
I'm gonna get with that. When I think anticipation, I'm like,
I don't know what to expect if you played any
of the Spider Man games. Insomniac doesn't make bad games, dude.
Insomniac do is Ratchet and Clank Insomniac, which are all

(01:04:58):
goaded in my opion, my humble opinion, Spider Man, Spider
Man two, and Miles Morales are gameplay experiences. You play
you are Spider Man. In those games, you get this
giant metropolis of where you can go multiple costumes, you
fight all of his rogues gallery, you play ass Venom
in two Doug, It's like, take all that experience and

(01:05:19):
now you have a fresh new character that he's the
best there is that what he does and what he
does isn't nice. I have zero X men. I don't
know what to expect when it comes to what do
they do with a Wolverine game? Is it gonna be
open world? Like Spider Man? How does he get around?
Is it gonna have a bike? Is he gonna climb
up walls like with his claws like in the animated series,

(01:05:41):
And what is happening? Like what villains are gonna be
in it? X Men have a deep well, Wolverine himself
has a deep well. Our other X Men going to
show up? We know this takes place in the same
universe as Spider Man. Is Spider Man gonna show why not?
Like I have my imagination is going wild? And after
they showed gameplay where this thing is looking like a

(01:06:04):
souped up uncharted bro with like him going through Madrapoor
and like on a on a dirt bike and landing
on the back of like trains like James Bond and
eviscerating people and it just looks crazy, dude, Like this
is one of those where it's like, Okay, I might
just take the week off of work and just I

(01:06:24):
don't want to be spoiled.

Speaker 3 (01:06:26):
I need.

Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
I want to play it in a in a bubble
and just be Wolverine and just enjoy the X Men
because the X Men are back, you know what I'm saying.
Like Marvel is finally embracing these characters again after buying
Fox we could to finally embrace the X Men again,
and the most popular X Man of all time is
getting his own standalone game. Oh my goodness, I'm so

(01:06:52):
excited for this game, like I can guss about it.

Speaker 3 (01:06:57):
I'm looking forward to it. I'm I don't know what
we're getting. I don't know what this is and that
and that dampers my excitement on it. I saw the trailer,
and I don't know if I believe what I saw.
I do hear what you have to say about Insomniac though,
and Semyak doesn't make bad games. Spider Man is a
fantastic game, but our fourteen of Spider Man is very

(01:07:21):
different from our two of spider you know what I mean.
And in a Wolverine game, unless you're giving me, I mean,
dynamic types of gameplay, doesn't it just become slash slash
jump type of Wolverine two PlayStation types of I don't know.

(01:07:41):
I don't know. I don't know, but they didn't show
me enough for me to go. Yeah, I'm stoked. I
want to get this in my hands. I like the
idea of it, but I like the idea of Marvel
Marvel Avengers too.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
And now don't like I will say, and I need
to go to what you were talking about. But while
I get it on my head, the gameplay of Marvels Avengers,
the single player's story for Marl's Avengers was very good.
I won't I won't take nothing away from that. The
multiplayer was trash, you know what I'm saying, Like the

(01:08:18):
team ups were trash, but the single player experience is
very good.

Speaker 3 (01:08:21):
But but go.

Speaker 1 (01:08:23):
On, yeah, but it was it was soligible. The way
they get away with this with the Spider Man is
they give Spider Man gadgets. He has all types of
little quirky little things. He can do different points of view.
He has electro webs. And then you're not gonna talk
about Miles, who's just busted. Right, But like you said,
what is Wolf veren Of not slashy slashy man?

Speaker 3 (01:08:45):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:08:45):
Well, for Reena's not a gadgets guy. He drinks beer,
you know what I'm saying, bar fights, he kicks, you
know what I'm saying with He's the type of guy
who just he was just Scott, I made you a convertible.
He just cuts off the top of his car. He's
at you know, but he's our jerk. But what I
mean to say is is like, how do you diversify
his gameplay to where, like you said on our sixteen,

(01:09:09):
or you've beaten the game and you're just running around
the world, is it just as fun as when you
first started it. That's tough. I could say that about
Spider Man. I could go play Spider Man right now
and just running around the city, swinging with the inertia
and having a good time beating up bad guys for
at least two or three hours.

Speaker 3 (01:09:26):
Yeah, it was like, you can blow two hours doing that,
just they got two hours to blow and you can
go swing around, do a couple activities and be like
that's good.

Speaker 1 (01:09:34):
But how do you diversify Wolverine's kit to where the
gameplay group is interesting? On our twenty five, that's a
very valid question. I can't answer that because in all
of my Marvel lore and knowledge, Wolverine's a pretty straight
shooter man. You know, he cawed Claw Slash Last, he
has hyper senses, he's super strong, he's pretty much a

(01:09:56):
secret agent, you know what I'm saying. He doesn't use
weapons because he is the weapon, you know what I mean,
doesn't use guns, right, So it's like, what do you do?
I don't know. We'll see, but in the hands of Asomniac,
I know it's gonna be at least good. Am I
gonna be like goes to Yo Tay, I was done,

(01:10:18):
Like I beat it and I didn't want to play
a new game. Plus, well, I want to jump back
into this or will that first experience be enough for
the ticket? I don't know. I still love my Spider
Man games, but you know, you make valid points, but
this is still like I just I just want to
see what they bring to the table with the character

(01:10:38):
like this, and I hope, I'm I know I'll make
a reds in it, but I do hope saber Tooth
is in it. He's got to be in it, right, I.

Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
Would assume so, I mean, if he's not, I'd be shocked.
Standalone Wolverine game.

Speaker 1 (01:10:49):
Like what what are we doing?

Speaker 3 (01:10:51):
Who are you bringing bringing to this partying? Everybody's gonna
like saber Tooth has to be.

Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
There, is gonna be bad ass. I cannot wait. Who
plays saber Tooth. Most anticipated content of twenty twenty six.
We're going to our new year. Like I said, I'm
so proud of this team. I'm so proud of us,
But we have our things that we're looking forward to
the most. Washer, are you ready to talk about what
you're looking forward to the most in this upcoming year? Yes, sir,
we're bouncing back to it. WASH's pick is mot and

(01:11:20):
Lore New Objects of Lore. Await you? What about lore?
Has you hype about twenty twenty six?

Speaker 3 (01:11:25):
Dude? I think our lawyers are pretty good. I think
our laws are on point, and our lawres are that
they're not They're not cakewalk you know what I mean.
It's not like, oh, let's do an mot and lore
and you know, let's turn on the camera and it's done,
and it takes a tadmin of homework. I like that research,
but were it's always a good conversation and I always

(01:11:49):
seem to learn something and I always seem to walk
away with a different respect for whatever object or property
it is that we're looking at. And for me, that's
been one of the one of the highlights of of
of the year is just our lores and you know,

(01:12:11):
getting to the hard of some of these things and
how they work, why they work in the universe, and
you know, in relation to what is going on in
the world. I think we did Antimantium as a as
a I thought about it as one of my favorites.
It wasn't there is one of my because it was
so freaking random, Like how do you do an antimatum? What?

Speaker 1 (01:12:35):
We talked about it for an hour, read right, figured
it out.

Speaker 3 (01:12:37):
No, no, man, anima, I can't say yes. So that
that is is? That's hey man, that's why I'm here.
That's what I love about the nerdiverse. That keeps me going,
you know, is is the lore of it all.

Speaker 1 (01:12:58):
I think the low is our most distinct multi inexperience
that we currently provide. I don't see any other content
online that's doing this, that's doing this specifically.

Speaker 3 (01:13:13):
I think I think we're gonna be doing double features.
I think that's gonna become a thing for us.

Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
Would go on, Like I'm down into a lore versus
lore at some point, you know what I mean, just
pit two, I'm just against each other. Let them fight.
That would be logistically, that would be kind of crazy.
But that's where my head is going for next year,
Like law versus law, Like like uh, like a random
select but lower items.

Speaker 3 (01:13:39):
Yeah, random select with lower items. I was like, you
wanted to, like pick a letter like S versus T, and.

Speaker 1 (01:13:46):
Then we'll come up something like the lament configuration versus
a holocron? Which is more powerful?

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (01:13:54):
Like which is more interesting? Which is more which is
which is more important to their lore? You know what
I mean? Just stick it out loud. Twenty twenty six,
The Sky's the limit And I love our lords. Like
you said, you walk away with a brand new appreciation
of what you're talking about, Seth Holocrons. I didn't know
a lot about them until I knew a lot about them.
That's when that's the very first law we ever did.

(01:14:15):
And you rocked it, and you brought all of that
Star Wars knowledge to the table and educated me. You know,
you educated me on that item. That is Lasrna the
Jurassic Park episode, one of my favorite laws insane right
like that, the deep dive on that.

Speaker 3 (01:14:33):
You know.

Speaker 1 (01:14:33):
So, I think laws definitely gonna have a big, a
bigger place in the Moltn universe next year, and we're
gonna play around with it. We're gonna shake up the
apple cart when it comes to this stuff. What do
you think? Do you agree?

Speaker 3 (01:14:44):
Yeah? Sounds good to me. Man that like, you bring
up Jurassic Park forgot we did that one. But that's
another one where like I haven't watched the new Jurassic
Park film, but I'm looking forward to the new Jurassic
Park film because of the lore we did. I am
now looking forward to Halo properties I didn't. Hey, man,

(01:15:04):
I Halo truck Yay Halo. It's the Hogg, the de
Ward Hall. Yeah. Now it's like, nah, what are we
doing with this story with Halo? Microsoft? Oh? Two four
two two four three? Games that you guys don't exist anymore,
accepted little pieces and fragments of your brain. Yeah, we're

(01:15:26):
gonna split these guys up. No, they're brains and we're
gonna just ship them off to different divisions. They'll do fine,
they'll do fine, It'll work itself out.

Speaker 1 (01:15:38):
Jeez. I'm kind of cheating with my pick for twenty
twenty six, and I kind of had to make a
really quick AI graphic but nothing set in stone. But
my most excited thing we're gonna be doing next year
is why is is MLTNS? Why is This is Wah's
brain child and the I think the future of MLTN

(01:15:59):
everging content. I'm so excited about our flay into comics
and this is kind of that. Or why is a
certain character awesome? Why is a certain you know item awesome?
Like it's different from lore because it kind of celebrates

(01:16:21):
what we're talking about as well as educates about what
we're talking about, you know what I mean? That's at
least what I mean, what why is is to me
rather than what if? Why is this character? Cool? For
someone who doesn't know who Trevor Fitzroy is, we may
do all why is on Trevor and next thing, you know,
we may invent a fan out there just by watching

(01:16:42):
our content. Oh snap, I didn't know the guyver was
that cool. I'll watched this why Is episode and now
I understand why why he is so cool? Wa Wash?
What are your thoughts on just our why is idea?

Speaker 3 (01:16:56):
I think, you know, I think it's fantastic. I think again,
we don't do we don't really cut corners here at MOLTN.
It's one of those things that's gonna be a lot
of work. But at the end of the day, like,
I think that the value that comes from it for
not only our audience but for us as fans of

(01:17:17):
this stuff. It only deepens our love for it, you
know what I mean, Like, it only gives us more
of an appreciation of the world of the characters within
the world, of their interactions with other characters. And this
is an appreciation that I probably took for granted till

(01:17:37):
I got us just heavily fogged Star Wars glasses that
I have these last three or four years. But when
you can start branching, opening, opening up the branches to
these worlds, to when you see characters interact and there's
a line written and you get that inside joke as

(01:17:59):
a nerd than as a fan, Like, it's more meaningful.
It's more meaningful. It's like, you know, everybody saw that show,
but but I missed I missed last the left the
last episode of the last season. Oh so you missed
all that and you're tapping in on season two and
it's like, what I miss That's some of the nice

(01:18:21):
stuff that I think we can get with. Why is
for the audience and me because I'm not super knowledgeable
on comics per se. Comic characters, sure, Iceman, sure, but
do I know why is Iceman cool? I mean, he
shoots Ice. It's got to be deeper than that.

Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
Than that, right, Why why is? And I think that's
the perfect way to sum it up. It's education, not
just for the universe, but for us as masters. I
have a feeling we're all gonna walk away feeling a
bit more knowledgeable about the pop culture universe we live in.
And it's just really an exploration, a true exploration of

(01:19:03):
the unknown, you know what I mean, and the well known.
You know what I'm saying. Someone may say a whyas
spawn cool? Deep dive in to spawn? What books to read? What?
You know what I'm saying? What arcs to read? What
content to absorb? It's just it's it's disguised the limit
with the wyas content. So that's why I tolse that
that's my favorite pick because it is going to be

(01:19:24):
our most our new thing that we're going to add
to our repertoire and have a feeling it's going to
be powerful. So we're definitely looking forward to bringing that
to you in twenty twenty six. And that conclude our
twenty twenty five MTN Awards Best of the Best wash
Any final thoughts about twenty twenty five before we close

(01:19:46):
this bad way out.

Speaker 3 (01:19:47):
It's been a great year, busy, year ton of content.
You know, the challenge is for me is just figuring
out how to schedule it all because when something like
OUTLAWSS comes in and I haven't had a game Life
Kill Me in years, years and this thing. You know,

(01:20:08):
it's getting better now, but there was a stretch that
first week we were off. It is all I thought
about morning at night. So you know, I'm stoked to
see what next year year brains. I'm stoked for all
the shows, movies, games and comics and books that you

(01:20:31):
know we're going to dive into and talk about here
here starting, I want to say next Friday, This Friday
with mt and love Baby Baby for.

Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
The new year, Let's go hive. Has been the most
challenging year of my life, you know, all hyperbole. This
year has pushed me to limits that I didn't think
I could reach. This channel was was revised this year,
technically brought back, you know, brought back from a quiet slumber,

(01:21:05):
and my friends poked me until pretty much poked my side. Mike,
wake up mlten, Mike, wait, wake up MLTN, and they said,
you know what I'm thinking. We're back and we've been
on the upward trajectory ever since new content, more laughs
than ever, just building relationships, building friendships, and I can't

(01:21:27):
think Wash enough for being here, you know, through this
ride as well as you Nerd of Verse of being
here through this ride. I don't know what tomorrow will bring.
I don't know what twenty twenty six will bring, but
we're gonna bust our ass to bring the best concept
for you, you know, present company included. I'm wanted twenty twenty
six to be one of our standout years. We're gonna

(01:21:48):
be doing gaming. We're gonna be doing some MLTN. That
almost made my list for most anticitaies.

Speaker 3 (01:21:53):
I forgot about it made the list. Yeah, forgot all
about that.

Speaker 1 (01:21:58):
There big We're finally gaming. So me and Wash are
gonna be bothering each other online, you know, maybe cause
some Marvel Snap games, go and argue with each other
on bike. It's gonna be great, U you know saying
we're gonna be playing some you know, just overall games.
We got Marvel a cosmic invasion that we could just
jump on anytime. So looking forward to twenty twenty six.

(01:22:20):
I want to thank you all for twenty twenty five.
As always, please like this comment. I like this comment
and subscribe, Like, comment and subscribe on YouTube, on Spotify.
Whoever you're hearing this, I've of course been your host
Mike Gee, he's been our host wash. We are the
Masters of the Universe. Happy, Happy New Year everyone. We'll

(01:22:43):
