Speaker 1 (00:39):
Greetings ladies, phenomenal women. I'm so honored to be with
you all today and I just want to thank our
host Ms. Maya Gavin for making this platform so we
can have this discussion about menopause. And I am doctor
Jasmine Morris of Life Wellness Studio, and I am a

(01:00):
natural pathic doctor. And today we're going to dive in
a little bit from a natural or holistic approach of
understanding how what we do, what we do with life wellness,
and how we can help you through this transition known
as menopause. So, first of all, let's talk about what
is natural pathic medicine. So many people ask me this question.

(01:23):
They're like, what type of doctor are you? And I'm like,
I'm a natural path right, And so what that essence
in essence means really is that we look at your
we look at your health holistically, right, and so what
we do in comparison to conventional medicine, we believe in
the body has the ability to heal itself naturally, and

(01:47):
so we use natural therapies, natural modalities, herbs, vitamins, minerals
to help your body do what it was designed to do.
So we are trained in the art of conventional medicine
along with the art of holistic medicine. And so in essence,
what we do you saw on the screen was how

(02:09):
we approach our health. Those six principles, Those six principles
is how we believe that we should guide your health journey.
And so what it looks like is we believe in
doing the body no harm. Right. We believe in treating
the whole person or identifying in treating the cause, which
is a part of the journey. And we have to

(02:30):
find those imbalances, find what's causing you to feel out
of whack, right. And then third, I like to say
that's the overall summation of what we do. We treat
the whole person holistic medicine right. And then we believe
in the healing power that was put in your body.
You were designed with this ability, and so what we

(02:53):
believe is that we help to create the conditions of
health in your body to do what it was designed
to do, and that was to restore itself. And so
like think about it, if you have a cut on
your hand, what happens right in a few hours, you
see it bleed a few a little while, and they
eventually a few days you see a scarf forming. That

(03:14):
is the healing power that's in your body. And so
when it comes to dealing with any type of condition,
specifically with our case with the menopause, if we help
the body to do what it was designed to do,
we believe you can go through this transition a little
bit more better than you were before. Okay, and so
how do we do that? Right? So our whole ploy

(03:38):
is to help you to reclaim your life, reclaim your
health naturally, right, And so we go through these phases.
We believe that we want to reveal to you exactly
what's going on. And this is just the discovery, right.
So women can come into our office and they're like, hey, Doc,
I've been dealing with fatigue, or I've been dealing with

(04:01):
the headache right, or I've seen this one too where
they feel this numbness, tingling sensation, and I help them
through to understand exactly first what's going on in their body.
And so we go through this process of identifying the deficiencies, right.
And those deficiencies are both physical deficiencies meaning things like

(04:24):
your sleep right where you're eating, your hydration, your movement,
and we also look at the chemical deficiencies where we'll
talk about later some functional testing and labs that we take,
and so we go through that. That takes a little
bit of time because we want to dive into not
just the symptom, we want to get the history. Because

(04:47):
the better we have an understanding of what's going on
in your body, the better we can create this health
optimization plan that's designed to help you reach your health
go and so we go through that. Then we do
what we call the system reset, and so we help
to align your determinants of health. And we'll talk about
that briefly, but those determinants are really an essence what

(05:12):
we believe determines your health, the direction of your health,
if it's going in a declining direction, right, or if
it's going in a more optimum direction, if you're reaching
your health goals, and so those we help to align
those by first we do testing assessments, right, We do assessments,

(05:32):
and through those assessments, we create this plan. We call
it your health optimization plan, right, and this is how
you reclaim your health. We give you the tools to
get to those goals, all right, And so when we
do as we go through this process, then it is

(05:53):
really in essence, we're putting these pieces of the puzzle
together for you, if you will right. Pieces of the
puzzle will help us to understand where do we need
to make do these changes, and where do we have
to make these proper assessments. So some of the assessments
that we really focus on are the neurotransmitter testing, because

(06:15):
some of the women definitely come in and they're like, Doc,
I can't remember why I came in the room, I
can't remember what is going on, or I'm having these
mood swings worse when I was in when I was
dealing with PMS, and they're like, I can't do this.
I'm up and down. I'm up and down. And so
we do things like neuor transmitter testing, right, we want

(06:36):
to identify the imbalances specifically in your hormones right in
the brain they're called neurotransmitters and the rest of the
body right that calls hormones, right, and so we're looking
at your NEU transmitter testing, we're looking at your metabolic
assessment where we're going to identify. Of course they say
it's the estrogen that's so low, But if we can

(06:59):
look at the other aspects of your hormones, your thyroid hormone,
your adrenal glands. Then that is going to help us
to support those areas too. And then we further do
testing like your gut health. We definitely want to look
at that because that is at the center of everything, right,
So if you're taking these herbs and these medications or

(07:20):
anything like that, if you don't have the proper gut,
microbiome or environment, then you're not going to really get
the benefits of those things. So we look at all
of those things. And one more that we actually that
I love to test with my ladies is micronutrient testing
too because that tells us on a cellular level, on
the smallest level, if your body is really getting enough magnesium,

(07:43):
because we know with estrogen there's this whole relationship that
magnesium is responsible for with calcium vitamin D, and so
if you're deficient in the small level nutrients, then it's
going to impact everything. So we do that too, and
so this this leads us to the determinants of health.
These Once we get those assessments, then we're able to

(08:07):
go deeper and to look at how do you think, right?
We call them the basic meds, right, but we say,
how are you thinking about your health? A lot of
women are thinking like, oh, my goodness, I just walked
into the roller coaster ride of my life, and that
can be very well true. But we want to help
you to make this much smoother transition because we understand

(08:29):
that your words are more than just sounds. One of
my mentors, he teaches us that your words and how
you think impacts your neural system, right, and so your
nervous system is responsible for sending that message from the
brain to the rest of the body. And so if
we can help you to approach this differently, and then

(08:50):
just I would say, approach it from a more healthier standpoint,
right than anxiety and frustration. If we can give you
the tools to think a different way, then you're gonna
help to increase your health. So we do we focus
on how you think. We focus on your gut health, right,

(09:11):
So we definitely want to look at how is how
are those bowel movements because that is connected to how
your hormone is. Your hormonal balance is in your whole body.
So when you are not pooping and you're not getting
that out, then you're recycling your hormones, right, And so
that can be a negative aspect that you are not

(09:33):
you're not getting all the toxins out your body, and
so it leads to other issues, right, and so it's
gonna impact so many aspects. Of course, your skin is
going to impact even how you think. Some people their
bowels are so so backed up they don't even know why,
but it's impacting how they eat on so many different levels. Okay.

(09:55):
Then the other thing that we look at is breathing. Right,
we do it over the thousand breaths a day, and
sometimes we hold our breath. Right, you get nervous, you
hold your breath, or you are stressed or something. You're
holding your breath and you don't realize the impact that's having.

(10:15):
Just proper breathing in and of itself is going to
give you the oxygen your body needs to make these
the energy your body needs. And so then we focus
on movement. We look at movement and we want to
get you moving. Just at least five minutes a day
is a start, because it's so much research out there
that talks about even just standing is going to help you. Right.

(10:39):
Then we look at nutrition, and of course what you
eat and what you drink is a huge aspect to
determining how your health is, how your energy is overall,
how your thinking is, how you're sleeping is, is all
impacted by what you eat, right, and what you drink.

(11:00):
People don't understand. I always teach think thirst first. Why
because we know that the body is made up of
more than seventy to eighty percent of water. But when
you are tired, guess what, You can be dehydrated when
you are cranky, especially during this menopausal transition, it could

(11:21):
be totally. You can help your body just by drinking
a glass of water, right, and not just any water.
We'll talk about that maybe at another time, but eating
and drinking is important to your overall wellness. So last
and not least, we look at your sleep and your stress. Okay,

(11:41):
so we already know that most of our women sometimes
a lot of times they're dealing with insomnia when they're
going through this phase. And so we can give you
natural remedies that can help with the sleep let along
with the stress. We call them adaptogenic herbs, which will
help you design to address the body deficiencies on a

(12:06):
chemical level that's specific to you. So when I take
this particular herb, it may not have the same impact
on my body as it does to you. But that's
why I love our medicine because it is customized to you.
There's no cookie cutter approach. And so the thing about
it is that's what makes our approach holistic because we

(12:28):
can't give you one thing to fit everybody. It just
doesn't work, right, right, That's our goal is to see
what is specific to your body. So if we see that,
then we're able to create this these picture of wellness
for you. Right. And so we look at we look

(12:50):
at the will of wellness, which is one of my
favorite things to do. We look at that because we
understand this is holistic health. I look, of course, I
look at the physical area, recognizing the need for physical activity,
diet and sleep and nutrition. But that's only one aspect
of your wellness, right, So we want to help empower

(13:12):
you to recognize that all of these areas in your
life impact your wellness. And so if we help you
to recognize, then you can create goals. We can create
them together to target your growth. Right. And so this
is the holistic way, and our holistic way is really
focused on educating and empowering you to take your health

(13:37):
and reclaim your health the way that we believe you
were designed to do, because you have the last say
so in your wellness. Right, It's not determined by this
hormone that's going up and down. It's determined by you, okay.
And so in some of these areas, I may never
be able to address them, but people like spirts that

(14:00):
are that are with us today especially it's maya she
can approach the mental aspect of the menopause, right. But
as we start to get come to a close menopause,
I like to say that menopause is a transition. Right.
That's what my profession taught us. She taught us that

(14:21):
it is a transition, and it is more about how
we view that transition. And so what we want to
do is we want to empower you to take that
transition in your hands. Right, And so we would love
to offer you a free consultation to dig deeper into
understand how we can help and where your imbalances are,

(14:43):
because that's what we believe in when I identify the imbalances,
because everyone's in balance are different, and so if we
can identify those imbalances, then we can help you put
you in that driver's seat on this transition we call menopause.
And so remember, ladies, that life, your health. Your health

(15:03):
is more than just a prescription or a vitamin or herb.
It is a way of life and we want to
empower you to make the best decisions, the best lifestyle
modifications to help you reach your optimum wellness. I'm so
thankful to be with you ladies today, and in your

(15:26):
folder you will have some information from us. So feel
free to reach out to us and we will be
happy to help you through this transition we call menopause.
Thank you so much. B.
