Speaker 3 (00:56):
Coming from the Ferndale, Magical Destinations by Steve Podcast Studios,
It's another episode of this fine travel podcast. Hi, I
am your host, Steve Cohen. You can reach me at
x Cohen at Curative Travelcollection dot com. Social media Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok,
as well as magical destinations by Steve dot Com. Before

(01:21):
we get in today's topic, I just want to catch
you up on this past week and what was going
on for me. You know, when you're creating a podcast,
or creating a presentation or preparing, it's easy to keep
making changes over and over and over again. That has
been my journey with my poster presentation since December. For

(01:41):
those who are just tuning in, I am presenting a
poster at a national medical conference in Nashville and April,
and I've been working on it since December. But while
talking with doctor Wayne this week, who is presented all
over the world way too many presentations to count, you
offered me some great advice. At some point, you have

(02:03):
to make it your own and stop. He said it
much more eloquently, but that was a message I took
to heart. Now the poster is at the printer and
the required voiceover for the conference app is done, I
can finally breathe. I feel a little bit more relaxed
and ready to go. The rest of the week was
packed with meetings, a trip to one of our fire

(02:26):
departments to watch their training and at fire departments all
the way out near Mount Baker. I developed a new
protocol teaching CPR and first aid and mentoring new CPR instructors.
It was a very busy, fun and rewarding week. So
let's go ahead and dive into some fun and talk

(02:47):
about travel. Remember, this podcast is where we unravel the
magic of travel, one journey at a time. And as
you know, I am your host and I'm looking forward
to this podcast. And today we are diving head from
into the wonderful world of vacationing along with delightful tips
for travelers, season and greenhorn alike. Plus, we'll spotlight two

(03:09):
fabulous destinations in America, Europe and Asia. I'll sprink a
little pixie dust of Disney the bliss of a cruise.
So pack your virtual bags and let the adventure begin.
The question I want to ask you to vacation or
not to vacation. That's right, folks, life's a hustle, but

(03:31):
vacations let me give you an answer. They are magical
time machines that risk us away to refreshment, creativity, and
even immune system resilience, not to mention. They craft memories
with loved ones that become tales told year after year.
My question to you, do you have a vacation that

(03:53):
you always talk about?

Speaker 1 (03:55):
Me?

Speaker 3 (03:55):
I always talk about my first cruise, I talk about
all my Disney trips and lately and most of the
time an hour, I talk about my trip to China,
which was last March. You can learn more about these
trips and past podcasts here on this platform. In today's world,
wind world, we focus too much on doing rather than
just being. So if you're pondering a getaway, take the leap,

(04:18):
contact me at s coenat Curated Travel Collection dot com.
Just remember your mind, body and spirit.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Well.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Thank you in the long run. Let's talk a little
bit about some tips. Whether you're a savvy globe trotter
or setting off on your first grand adventure, these nuggets
of wisdom will sparkle up your trip for those who
love going on cruises, especially for first time cruisers, you
need to pack motion sickness remedies. You might need to

(04:45):
pack a power strip for cabin of course, if you're
going to the Caribbean, sunglasses, sunscreen. If you're going to Alaska,
even the summer, you need to pack a little bit
of warm clothed and of course you're taking a river
cruise in Europe in October November, it's gonna be raining,
it could be also cold, so address appropriately and don't forget.
If you're gonna pack a power strip for your cabin,

(05:09):
make sure that the cruise line allows that to be
part of your luggage. Because some cruise lines have changed
their requirements. Check with a travel advisor, check with the
cruise line before packing a power strip. Another great tip
is don't forget to book shore excursions and dining reservations ahead.

(05:32):
This usually means that there's less hassle and more fun
when you board. And also some of the cruise lines,
especially for shore excursions and beverage packages, offer some really
great deals before you step on the ship. Once you
step on the ship, I can promise you that all
shore excursions, specialty restaurant reservation costs, and of course beverage

(05:58):
packages will be more expensive. For those who love to
go Disney like myself, it's really important to book early.
Use a travel advisor, use a Disney app. You can
make reservations, you can check out your WIT time updates,
and you can also snag those last minute dinner reservations.
Now as well. Also, a midday break might just be

(06:19):
the pixie dust you need to refresh. Hit to the back,
to the resort, hit the pool, take a nap, grab
a little bit of a snack. Also, you can book
your dining reservations and sixty days ahead as well. Also,
this tip is for everyone. Embrace the unexpected. Not everything

(06:39):
goes according to plan, but remember the best stories often
come from those twists and turns. Stay open and flexible.
Also when you're in these places, especially if you go
to Europe, even if you're traveling here in America, ask
the locals where you need to go to see some
pretty cool sites or grab some a quick bite to

(07:00):
eat at one of the local restaurants. It really enhances
the trip. For our last segment, let's talk about some
must visit places. All right, dreamers, here are two must
visit spots in America, Europe, and Asia that deserve a
magical place on your travel bucket list. In America, first off, Charleston,

(07:21):
South Carolina, known for its well preserved architecture and rich history.
Charleston is a Southern charmer with a martyrn twist. Explore,
explore the crablestone streets, and relish in the low Country cuisine.
Next up, head over to San Diego, California. I was
just there in January. It is known for its idyllic
climate and stunning beaches, the perfect paradise for a pre

(07:44):
or post cruise, a great zoo stay with vibrant neighborhoods
offering ocean views and delightful dining. I'm telling you that
it's walkable city. There are so many things to do.
You can visit some Navy ships. There are numerous beaches
that you can visit. You can walk along the harbor.

(08:05):
You can stay with vibrant neighborhoods offering ocean views and
delightful dining. As I said earlier, I was in San
Diego in January and the sky the sun was shining.
I had a great view of the harbor from my hotel.
Ate it some local cuisine. It was great, great steakhouses.
Are there lots of things to do in San Diego

(08:27):
all year round. It's a great place. If you want
to learn more about either going to Charleston or San Diego,

s Coenatcurated travel Collection dot com. Now that's crossover to Europe,
gently landing in Lisbon, Portugal. There are sunkissed coastlines, meet

(08:48):
pastoral buildings and soulful music, making Lisbon a vibrant place
of old and new. You can indulge in heavily cuisine.
Let's let's head over to the Czech Republic, a city
that's right out of a fairy tale. It's lively nightlife,
traditional check beer and stunning architecture are for a perfect

(09:09):
blend of old world charm. And it's a perfect blend
of old world charm and a new world life Asia.
The Magic Beckons from Kyoto, Japan, a serene a serene
oasis steeped in history with over a thousand Buddhist temples
to visit. Also visit doing cherry blossom season for a

(09:32):
truly unbelievable experience. Ah, Let's not forget Cambodia, with great
food history that whispers through ancient stones while the local
cuisine excites with fresh flavors. And there you have it,
a taste of why vacations are everything, how to sprinkle
some magic over your travels, and a tour of destinations
