Join Metalology for a review of possibly one of the greatest and most iconic moments in rock and metal…Ozzy Osbourne’s final show. In this episode, the boys at Metalology discuss Ozzy’s performance, mixed emotions while watching the concert, favorite moments/highlights, the best performances, what kind of toll this show took on the Godfather of Heavy Metal, Yungblud's standout performance, and reasons why this concert occurred in the first place. Join us as we pay tribute to the Prince of Darkness himself, Ozzy Osbourne and his farewell show. For the viewer: the release of this episode and Ozzy’s passing on the same day (7/22/25) was purely and eerily coincidental. All opinions shared in this episode occurred the weekend prior to Ozzy’s passing. Metalology will be recording a follow up episode to discuss Ozzy’s passing soon.

Why would it be the new album?

Speaker 4 (03:31):
There has been album.

Speaker 3 (03:32):
I would be surprised they had not been working on.
I mean from I don't I just I.

Speaker 4 (03:37):
Don't want it. Then I don't want to twenty fifth
and I don't want it. I want a new album.
That's all I want. I don't want nothing new album
or you ship or get the funk out of here, Slipknot.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I mean, what if they do some cool like new
re release like T shirts and like clothing line that
cool deluxe uh fucking vinyl with like splatter effects cool.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I'll be sick yea of Iowa. So it'd be cool
to get the first album.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Like second album.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
But see you didn't want it, now you want it.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
Yeah, I want merch. You don't know what you wanted
to you see it in front of your body sometimes.

Speaker 1 (04:10):
Yeah, but twenty five years of slip knot well, I
know it's been more because they got together before that.
But like the first album, like those nuts, that is nuts.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
We are old, we're man.

Speaker 4 (04:22):
Also, guys, I don't know if you have noticed this,
but we have a new something in our background.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
That's right, that's right. So we just dropped an unboxing video.
Our boy Julian aka heavy metal Joker Julian Pronell, who's
been on at this point a bunch of times metal
Algy episodes. He went ahead and he got us a
custom of banner flag made for our studio, the podcast
studio here.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
Cut off right now. We are not met.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
The g G y g y at the metology.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I have to be very.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
Man dropping metalhoods are dumb. Metalhoods are dumb. So we
we have to move in about two inches to the left.
But yes, it looks spentastic.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
We had to put it up immediately to kind of
fucking show it off like that was fucking cool.

Speaker 1 (05:10):
And what's funny is I was actually gonna talk to
us about, oh, maybe we should do like a new
like cover art for the podcast, and then he sent
this and I'm like, Okay, Now, I guess We're stuck
with this.

Speaker 5 (05:17):
For five years, twenty years.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Julian has locked us in.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
This flag is going to be following Baji for the
rest of his life. He's going to put it in
the background in his room. Oh, the good old days,
the good old day.

Speaker 2 (05:30):
I love staring at Rudy fucking what the fucking mike
like that's fucking six. Reminds me of the days that
we fucking you do vocals for uh Cam and Ship.

Speaker 1 (05:41):
I can't I can't see the monitor. But is Rudy's
character right next to Rudy's face?

Speaker 3 (05:47):
No, I think I'm right underneath Alex now, oh yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Between teen between yeah, Baji and Rudy. Is Rudy and
Alex beautiful, So we're technically over there like Tony's right there, yeah,
and one crooked ass face. Yeah, well we'll have to
fix that. We'll fix it.

Speaker 1 (06:03):
We'll fix it. Anyways, Thank you, so much, appreciate it.
Just legitimatus is the podcast even more and we're so thankful,
so happy, bazzi. When you are relieving yourself here in
the room, we're not here.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Which face are you going to be looking at?

Speaker 4 (06:19):
Maybe?

Speaker 2 (06:22):
I mean it's the.

Speaker 4 (06:23):
Most like it's like, look look at his face.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
Come on, come on, finish, finish, do it, do it,
do it, and look at me. I'm like, that's my
boy man.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
And then his face like he's like, it's like William
just talking to him. I want you to grab that penis.
Do it. You know what to do?

Speaker 1 (06:55):
All right, So today we're talking about Ozzie's last show.
We're a little late. It's been two weeks. I did
not meet up with you guys. So Rudy you ordered
the pay per view, yeah, yeah, and Hondi, Hondro and
Alberto showed up to celebrate. I did not.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Because Tony had better things to do.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:15):
I have a family, so.

Speaker 3 (07:17):
I hang out with you degenerates.

Speaker 2 (07:19):
So I was.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I was with my family, but I saw a lot
of the highlights on TikTok. That's where like the more
like real time stuff that I was seeing. So you
guys watched it in person, just like overall, before we
get started, how was like the vibe? How was the
feel How did you feel about the entire show?

Speaker 3 (07:36):
We'll start with Rudy, so I'll say this, The overall
feeling of the show was amazing, dude. It was literally
an emotional roller coaster, you know, seeing all these bands
that we grew up with, everybody's old. Dude, Like it
hit me that day. I was like, fuck, yeah I am.
At the time, I was thirty five, I'm like fucking

(07:56):
thirty five, dude. It was great.

Speaker 2 (08:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
One thing I will say, the streaming service sucked balls.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Yeah I heard.

Speaker 3 (08:06):
I was so pissed, dude, because say, for example, say
if I wanted to watch it in real time, I couldn't.
The streaming thing started at seven o'clock our time, and
I tried watching it from seven in the morning, just
because I wanted to you know, live, you know, you
pay for it, might as well make sense. I couldn't
get the stream to work until literally four o'clock PM.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Wow.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
So literally once the show was over and you were
able to replay it, I was able to watch it.
So that's the only thing I will say that was,
like they should have went with Veeps. I don't know
if you guys ever seen other live streams. Beeps is
very popular.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Not through that.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yeah, I feel like it could have. You know, the
website could have been better, but the actual experienced once
I finally got to it was fucking an emotional roller
coaster for sure.

Speaker 1 (08:53):
Yeah, for sure, uh baji since you pass out once,
shut up, I hadn't passed.

Speaker 4 (08:59):
I wanted.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (09:03):
Uh so what were your thoughts of the the first
parts that you got to see and before you fell asleep?

Speaker 4 (09:09):
Honestly, it was great, like just just seeing the bands
that they got to pay tribute and like the artists
that they brought on for like the supergroups, Like it
was really fucking like like like the it was just
like it was fucking amazing, like you got just you know,

(09:30):
we'll talk about later, but you got to see like
you know, some I think Ozzie's like original guitarist after
Randy Road was there, Jake Lee was there. But I
mean it was just like like all these people that
you know, bands that we grew up like Lamb of God,
masted On, a Slayer, Metallica, like all these people, all
these people got there and mind you They did it
all for free. They weren't paid or nothing. They went

(09:53):
of their own time, their own ambitions. They went to
pay tribute to Ozzie and Black Sabbath, and I thought
that's what like was. I thought, that's what made it
so much fucking so such a great experience because like
they're just they're paying the paying tribute.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Yeah, and all the proceeds went to charity. How much
did they make was about almost two hundred mili. That's
a lot of money.

Speaker 2 (10:15):
Fucking crazy.

Speaker 1 (10:16):
Since you showed up after Bazi fell asleep.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Yeah, I shut up during Lama God set towards the end, Yeah,
towards their set, which they are were the third band, right,
so yeah, just to check that. But yeah, dude, it
felt like the more it went on after, you know,
because I agree, you know, it's fucking amazing and all that,

(10:40):
but just to have a different perspective, it felt like
this was fucking cover Night at the Break by Brick.
Oh yeah, fucking sty fucking shout out to st putting
on a show and it's just you have musicians after musicians,
you know what I mean, coming up and it's just
so organic and it's just fucking raw and people fucking

(11:05):
figuring out you know, the fucking all the audio engineer shit,
you know in the background. You know, like it wasn't perfect,
you know, at all when it comes to that, you know,
but there's just a certain rawness to it. And uh
and it was just cool.

Speaker 4 (11:20):
Man.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
It felt like, damn, dude, they're just like it's like, uh,
you know, and it's relatable and it was nice kind
of like had that fucking spirit. It kind of made
me feel good about myself. I was like, fuck, man, like,
these guys are fucking they don't give a fuck, you know,
They're just they're going in you know, some of them
probably didn't rehearse as much something didn't, you know, Like
you're just going up there to like, you know, let

(11:42):
fucking rock and roll fucking possess you and and for
Azzie and you just fucking grand old time, so fucking great,
great vibes, dude, and and just that aspect of it. Yes,
that a guy was fifth fifth, Holy shit, Okay.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
They were in there, so it's to start it off.
Sharon kicked off in a series band. Prior tune up
to the show. We talked a little bit about this
on our Q and a episode. Yeah, so ever since
there's been a little bit of some of some clarification
that's come out. So meg Death was not kicked off.
I know, like when I kind of teased that a
little bit, Megadeth was not kicked off. They actually just

(12:18):
were not invited.

Speaker 4 (12:19):
Yeah, we don't want that guy.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
We don't want that guy. Kind of have a good time,
Come on, guys. I mean they used to play a
paranoid back in the day, and and and like that.
You know, they sounded great, But the only thing I
will say was missing is a whole fucking audience chanting
pea seals. But who's buying Symphony of Destruction just to
go with the night of like fucking just legendary, fucking music.

(12:43):
I did miss them, so good to know. I don't
think any of that crowd knew those songs. Yeah, I
was like, I don't know.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
I'm just being a dick. I'm sorry, I'm not I'm
not a Mega Death fan.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
And that's funny. I'm glad they weren't there in my
night with their nonsense.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
I think it'd be awesome they were there.

Speaker 2 (13:00):
Why David was there? Yeah, the good part of Megadeth. Yeah,
he was the good part, the.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
One that got kicked out.

Speaker 2 (13:12):
Yeah, yeah, he was there, fucking he was in a
supergroup A and I think supposed he was invited by well,
I don't want to say who, but someone like I
guess they needed. Something happened along the way and they're like,
he got a phone call like, hey, do you want
to do this? I don't remember who it was, but
that's how he got it.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
So he wasn't even like the first pick.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
He wasn't the first pick.

Speaker 1 (13:36):
He was the backup.

Speaker 2 (13:37):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I heard who it was. But yeah,
they called him up. Was like, hey, dude, we got
a spot, like you want to do it?

Speaker 1 (13:43):
See, I'm just being I'm being a dick right now.
I'm out here talking. Hey, hey, if I was the
back guitar player, Like.

Speaker 4 (13:50):
You know who was there? Sleep tokens too.

Speaker 2 (13:54):
Yeah, yeah, drummer. He's one of the super groups.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
That's really his name, sleep took too. Well, that's like that,
that's the column. Yeah, that's what they call him to
what mother something? Goddamn number?

Speaker 3 (14:09):
Okay, slip.

Speaker 1 (14:12):
Numbers number one?

Speaker 4 (14:15):
What about Papa whatever?

Speaker 2 (14:16):
Papa Papa.

Speaker 3 (14:19):
I liked. I heard a lot of people did not
like his cover. Though a lot of people everyone's like,
oh dude, it sounds terrible this cover. When Papa saying, yeah.

Speaker 2 (14:29):
Yeah, that was trash you compared to like that Blood, No,
I still liked it.

Speaker 3 (14:34):
That's the one person I want to talk about. Dude.

Speaker 1 (14:37):
Okay, well you know I'm gonna pull it up. I'm
gonna pull it up.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
But go on, what the young Blood thing?

Speaker 1 (14:42):
No, I'm gonna pull up the Papa Marchis cover. I
want I want to have an actual ping. What song
did he do? Crazy train?

Speaker 5 (14:47):
Uh?

Speaker 6 (14:48):
What he did?

Speaker 1 (14:51):
Trying to think I'm pulling it up?

Speaker 2 (14:54):
What did he do?

Speaker 4 (14:55):
But he on the first or second supergroup?

Speaker 3 (14:58):
I feel like he was on the second.

Speaker 1 (15:00):
Papa Murders bark at the moon.

Speaker 7 (15:02):
The moon, Yeah alright, so let me see right.

Speaker 2 (15:24):
For taking the day of the Gooday you guys like that.

Speaker 1 (15:33):
Yeah, he's not even he's so out of picture.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
But that's what the moon and he's fun of the night.

Speaker 1 (15:40):
That's what he is.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
That the fucking.

Speaker 1 (15:44):
Crowd was look look.

Speaker 4 (15:50):
Listening.

Speaker 3 (15:55):
I think he let everyone like, yeah he wasn't singing that.

Speaker 2 (15:59):
We had to let the audience.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
You got a video, Yeah, luckily we have a video.
Let's see, let's verify, verify, you can't verify. He well
he's on the mic though, so he's he didn't.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
Go he he did. Like this.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
Fucker sucks, dude, Papa Murder sucks such hate. But how
can you listen to the bend?

Speaker 2 (16:28):
I don't know? Cool? Sick?

Speaker 1 (16:31):
How was that cool?

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Because dude, there's a lot of people fucking up that night, Dude,
a lot of fun ups that night.

Speaker 1 (16:37):
But just show when young Blood is the highlight of
the night and you have Papa Murdis.

Speaker 2 (16:44):
He's like the only guy who like didn't suck up.
It was fucking perfect. He owned the audience.

Speaker 3 (16:49):
That guy stole the show man. I don't even know
who he was until that nobody.

Speaker 1 (16:55):
Look, we'll get in because nobody listens to young Blood.
You know who broke young Blood into rock music? Because
the young ones hip hop artists from from the u K.
But you know who broke him bring the horizon? What
do you mean broke him? Broke him into rock music?
Okakay with obey Off of post Human h brought.

Speaker 2 (17:18):
In Uh Katy Perry before she was Katy Perry.

Speaker 1 (17:21):
I mean, but Katy Perry didn't stay in rock music.
She just did that's true, jus a backup singer. And
then she was like, I'm gonna just anyways, we're not
talking about Katy Perry about we're talking about pap Artist.

Speaker 2 (17:35):
When you hear that, really he was sleeping.

Speaker 4 (17:39):
No, I remember hereod like, I don't know. I didn't
think it was that bad. But at the same time,
I don't know, I didn't feel like it was great.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
It wasn't young.

Speaker 1 (17:49):
But we'll hear the second. We'll hear that one. He
just sucking How the for how he's marking at the
moon bro.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Very theatrical, dude. I feel like he put on actually
like a good like.

Speaker 1 (18:06):
He's just standing there.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
You hate.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
This is also the dB of his new This is
how the new Papa was gonna look.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
Supposedly, what do you talked about they put out like
a new means like six months ago.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Yeah, well supposedly this that's that's his new ghetto.

Speaker 8 (18:29):
They do.

Speaker 2 (18:41):
I don't know. They didn't bother me.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
That doesn't bother you. Don't that doesn't bother you. Not
only you not like actual clean singing, and you just
don't even acknowledge this terrible clean sing dude.

Speaker 2 (18:51):
Yeah, Like I'll think it in my head. But and
then I don't care.

Speaker 4 (18:55):
But you know, besides that, there are some other.

Speaker 1 (18:59):
Good cover but we'll get to those. We'll get to those.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
Sorry.

Speaker 1 (19:01):
So, because you guys brought Upping Murtis, I had to
I had to hate. I'm glad you guys enjoyed it.
I'm glad you guys had a good time and it
wasn't a little waste. If I was there, I would
have been booming the whole time.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
If he was there, he'd be in the fucking I.

Speaker 1 (19:18):
Would have broke the TV. I'm sorry, in the god dude, Okay,
on to better things.

Speaker 2 (19:33):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (19:34):
So, so the mysterious band. So this is like a
big theory that's going on. It was Molly CRUs the
one that got I can say that because Molly Crue
wanted to get paid because they're doing a whole stadium
tour and they've.

Speaker 4 (19:44):
Had to pull out and they need money.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Ship, they need money. That's why they got back together.
So after they wrote the whole contract in blood and
few years back that we're never getting back together again,
that decided my money, we gotta get together.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Oh don't sound like great.

Speaker 1 (19:58):
Mc mars can't play guitar that's fun. Will replace the
old guitar player with John five. Yeah, And I'm like, no, dude,
like just stop, just stop, just stop. Anyways, So supposedly
they're the band that got got booted, that they originally
agreed to it and then they got booted because Nikki
six wrote an Instagram post I think like two days
after the show, and it kind of sounded very like vague,

(20:21):
like no one's gonna keep me down this and that.

Speaker 2 (20:22):
I'm like, what the fuck are you talking about?

Speaker 1 (20:24):
But a lot of people in the comments were saying like, oh,
it's because they got kicked off.

Speaker 2 (20:27):
They got kicked out of the Ausie Show, and he
was being salty. I mean, let's be honest. If we're
talking about like really like voices that would like ruin
a fucking song or cover, I don't want to hear
vince Neil like that. You see those ves.

Speaker 1 (20:47):
Well, we just watched yeh, which is slaughter back at
the moment.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
Like Vincenil, dude, I just checked. He's plays harmonica apparently
in Motley Crew. According to Google, it's not the vocalist.
He's a harmonica. But but yeah, I'm glad that they
were kicked out they Yeah, it's not good anymore.

Speaker 1 (21:04):
Okay, so we're happy Motley Crewe is been a part
of it.

Speaker 3 (21:06):
Yes, we're happy with that affecting whatsoever.

Speaker 1 (21:10):
So what do we think about the host? So Jason
Momoa hosting, in my opinion, is the perfect celebrity choice
flying the flag for metal in the mainstream a list.
I really feel that he did a great job.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
Oh he did.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
I feel like because because when you look at like
where metal is at mainstream, like metal has a position
in mainstreams. I know metal heads like to fucking hear that,
but that's how metal survives the position.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
And stranger things.

Speaker 1 (21:32):
Yeah, you have stranger things introducing kids to metal Metallica,
not Mega Death Metallica. I want to put that out
an eight minute song.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
There.

Speaker 1 (21:42):
We got kids out here listening to Master Puppets fucking nuts.
But having Jason Momoa Aquaman himself and like what is
like kind of like the the highlight of his career
hosting Sabbath and really kind of and he's also like
been going to like Metallica shows and supporting Pantera. He's
been jumping in the pits. I'm like that motherfucker knows
like three songs but you know what, he's gonna get

(22:02):
away with it.

Speaker 2 (22:03):
He jumped in.

Speaker 4 (22:05):
He jumped in the pit multiple times.

Speaker 1 (22:07):
Yeah, he's off beats, jumped.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
Out when he was done, I think for the day,
because he didn't really do much in the last three
bands for there some night like he you could tell
like it just stopped from there and then he just
jumped in the pit and have a gale time.

Speaker 1 (22:21):
So I thought that was super cool. I thought just
did a great job.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
No, he was good.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
It was cheesy, it was havvy. It was just it
was an eighties action movie kind of vibe that he
brought to the table. It was fun because I'm glad
that he had it, that he got someone with charisma
because of metal music too. See, I'm just fucking hating
the metal today with the lineup. When you look at
the lineup of the artist, if you would have someone
else MC the night, I don't know if it would
have had as much charisma.

Speaker 2 (22:45):
Only people would have been applicable, would have been like
Jack Black.

Speaker 3 (22:48):
I was about to say, would.

Speaker 4 (22:50):
Have but he was there as well.

Speaker 2 (22:53):
Some of the part of it wasn't.

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Yeah, but either part of it, Yeah, I think he's
just busy he's busy making movies Minecraft two, to Knock,
to Knock Knock. So yeah, so I think I think
just did a fantastic job.

Speaker 3 (23:09):
I heard that they kind of like Sharon asked him
like super last minute and he just like, oh ship, yeah,
fucking I am down. Did you see. I didn't hear
about that. But that's like, I don't think it was planned.
Like it kind of like he was at the show
and they're like, hey, you fucking you're gonna introduce Ozzie.
He's like, oh, fuck, yeah, that's cool. That's what I heard.
I don't know if it's true, but.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
You'd be dumb to take that fucking.

Speaker 4 (23:34):
I don't think so, because like it was announced before
like the like I think a couple of weeks before
that he was going to host the show.

Speaker 3 (23:41):
Did it?

Speaker 2 (23:41):
Yeah, okay, I mean could have been that they had
somebody else before him and then they had to make a.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
Change, because I know right now, dude, after that fucking
show that happened, a lot of AI generated videos were
made that were not true. Yeah, dude, I follow Kelly
Osbourne and there's a lot of videos that people were
was sing of Ozzy supposedly talking and like speaking, and
she's like, dude, that's not my dad. My dad never
recorded that. That was all Ai Jender.

Speaker 1 (24:08):
Ye, yeah, I know the video well the surgery some
of like how the surgery fucked him up and this
and that.

Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah, that's not real. No. I came up and I
was like speak but yeah, and.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
I speaking fluently in that.

Speaker 2 (24:21):
In that I was questioning the timeline in the videos,
like when did this come out? Why am I just
seeing this?

Speaker 1 (24:27):
It's been it's been passed off as it just came
out after either before, right before or after the show.
But Ozzy is not he he can't do that.

Speaker 2 (24:35):
Yeah, yes, Parkinson's right.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
Yeah, she's me shaking a little bit, like no, dude, Yeah,
Jason Momo, fantastic job, good job the Tool. So Tool
came out and what I love what Tool though, Yeah
that was cool is Tool doesn't normally allow themselves to
be filmed like in HD. Yeah, seprised, but they came
out and it's like one of the first times you

(24:57):
legitimately saw these guys pro shot it an editing and
raw and they're just right there in front of the
stage and they're doing their thing, and I'm like, God,
I wish to did this more.

Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah, that was sick. Dude. I fucking love seeing those
two songs.

Speaker 1 (25:09):
Like, I don't know, they did a hand of doom.

Speaker 2 (25:13):
They fucking did. Yeah. I was trying to remember, well,
no I'm talking about the cover. Yeah I forgot, but yeah,
don't worry. They did a good job.

Speaker 1 (25:24):
We're we're going to talk about the covers because I
mean they all sounded.

Speaker 2 (25:27):
All the Yeah, their originals we already know like they
sounded great, but that was my first time seeing like,
like you know, like Tony said live now you.

Speaker 9 (25:48):
Know, no, that's.

Speaker 2 (26:02):
A fucking singer. Yeah, it's good.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
His voice just fits that song so well. Yeah, I
love that cover. I thought they did a great job
it really. It has that Tool vibe. You could tell, like, oh,
Tool was definitely influenced by Sabbath, because there's bands that are
like their metal, but dude, like they they have no
Sabbath in them, right, And then there's bands like Tool
where you kind of hear like the spookiness, kind of

(26:33):
hear the the azziness in the vocals, and I think
Maynard has that. I think that kind of gets overshadowed
a lot, but I think that hend of Doom showed
like the amount of impact that Sabbath had on Tool
because when they played that song, like, yeah, they they
definitely have been influenced by that song. What did you
guys think of hend of doom?

Speaker 2 (26:51):
Fucking sick dude? I thought it was appropriate song. Yeah,
fucking doom fucking doom metal right there, you know what
I mean, Like fucking dope metal. You know, like that,
that's all I hear when I hear like those classic
Sabbath riffs. So I felt like, yeah, Tool is like
appropriate band too to have done that song.

Speaker 3 (27:10):
They were the band to cover that song.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
All right. We wanted to skip him. Remember like this
was like no that, I'm glad.

Speaker 3 (27:19):
That was.

Speaker 1 (27:22):
Your guy.

Speaker 2 (27:25):
I was quiet that. I was like, Okay, I'm cool.

Speaker 4 (27:27):
So you too, you too, Alright, Ace, we're talking about bands.
I'm just gonna list the names of the bands aside
from the super groups, I'm gonna listen the name of
the bands that were that did play. We had Macedon
opening it up, followed by Rival Sons. We skipped them,
We skipped them good, followed by Anthrax but I missed that.

Speaker 2 (27:49):
I liked it.

Speaker 4 (27:50):
It was good. Then we had hell Storm nice. Then
we had you know, our one of our favorite bands,
Lamb of God. There you go, so they there there.
We'll talk about that in a moment.

Speaker 1 (28:02):
We're gonna talk about that song.

Speaker 4 (28:04):
Yeah. Then there was super Group A, which we'll get
to that later. We had Alison Chains, which exactly pretty good.

Speaker 1 (28:12):
Well, Allison Chains is highly influenced by by Sabbath because Sabbath.
You gotta remember, Sabbath is a blues band. Sabbath is
not a metal band. That's what the media turned them into.
They are a blues band. They started off as a
band called Earth. They were heavy blues, two another guitars,
started fucking with the Evil Triad and bam, heavy metal
right there. But they are a blues band. That's what
you heard. Handa doom Dum doom dude and Allison Chains.

(28:35):
Jerry ConTroll has always said, Alison Chains is a blues band.
We are a blues band. So there's definitely a huge,
huge connection between the two.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
So then after Alison Chains, we had fucking go Jira. Okay,
they did their cover was fucking amazing.

Speaker 1 (28:52):
Which one did they do? I didn't I didn't see
that fun well.

Speaker 4 (28:58):
I don't remember.

Speaker 1 (28:58):
I could pull I could pull it up.

Speaker 2 (28:59):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (29:01):
Then after Gojra they had a drum off.

Speaker 2 (29:04):
Mm hmm, Travis it was Dane.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Trnder fucking yeah, so they had the drum off.

Speaker 10 (29:21):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (29:21):
Then it was Super Groop b then it was Pantera,
followed by Tool, followed by Slayer, followed by Guns and
Roses right then after that was Metallica.

Speaker 3 (29:35):
Well you said no Guns and not after Slayers.

Speaker 4 (29:40):
Yeah, that's what it says.

Speaker 3 (29:41):
That's wrong. Slayer was right before Metallica, and then after
Metallica it was Ozzy and then Black Sabbath.

Speaker 4 (29:49):
They probably, they probably Then after after Metallica was Ozzy
and then after Ozzie Black Sabbath.

Speaker 2 (29:58):
Gotcha, gotcha? Okay?

Speaker 1 (30:00):
Uh So I found the Gujera cover under the Sun.
We are big fans and we love Gjero.

Speaker 4 (30:07):
Also, they brought up what's her name from when they
did the Olympics, the singer forget her.

Speaker 2 (30:13):
Name, I don't know her name.

Speaker 4 (30:15):
They brought her along as well too.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
Yeah, they played that song. That's cool. That's cool.

Speaker 1 (30:19):
So I'm gonna play a quick clip of Gaujera playing
under the Sun.

Speaker 2 (30:26):
That's heavy.

Speaker 4 (30:27):
Yeah, the art sounds.

Speaker 8 (30:40):
That drop our pizza ship out of his starts a
this is a cover, I won't release this is heavy.

Speaker 11 (30:57):
Yeah, God, they gotta release a cover.

Speaker 1 (31:22):
Fantastic son of a bitch that is that is gold
all right. Uh so we're gonna get into another cover song.
A highlight of the night that I've heard a lot
of a lot of people in attendance talk about a
lot of metal hoods talked about in the days after
Lamb of God not only cover Told Another Grave, which
is one of my favorite Sabbath songs. It was actually

(31:42):
on the Sabbath the playlist when we did the Sabbath
episode not too long ago. Now only did they cover
it at the show, but they released their cover during
the show. Like I think it was like an hour
after they played it. Yeah, because I remember I was
like watching. I was like, oh, this sounds fucking sick,
and then like show watch something else and then fucking
pune go be go on Spotify. Oh ship, they just
dropped the fucking cover.

Speaker 3 (32:03):
Damn.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
So we're gonna listen to Children of the Grave, the
official cover song released by God that day.

Speaker 4 (32:09):
It was funny though how they started so when they
first came on it was what song is like lay
to rest you couldn't hear Mark's guitar at all, so
like even even like even art was like like looking around,
like what the is going on? Like everybody was like

(32:30):
what's going on?

Speaker 1 (32:32):
And then we stop?

Speaker 4 (32:33):
Or yeah, they're like did we stop? But they just
kept going. Then you just see like the cameras like
they pan away from Mark so and but you see
like little clips of like the sound guy coming up
with another guitar.

Speaker 3 (32:46):
But here, honestly, I feel like Lamb of God, the
sound was not that great, huh, Like out of everybody,
whoever their sound engineer.

Speaker 1 (32:56):
Was, they just wanted to do a bunch of issues. Yeah,
all right, so we're gonna listen to their cover of
showing Another Grave.

Speaker 4 (33:08):
That makes some.

Speaker 2 (33:12):
That's me.

Speaker 10 (33:23):
Fo waiting for Randy.

Speaker 2 (34:20):
That is sick.

Speaker 1 (34:30):
I like how there's more emphasis on the chug sick
as fuck. I love Randy's voice. I like how it's
still Randy but he's doing the ausy thing, but it's
not too far into that. He's he's so he's all
pertains his style. He's so obtains his style as opposed
to like just going full on Aussie thoughts on Children

(34:52):
of the Great.

Speaker 4 (34:53):
It was cool, it was a good It was a
good cover.

Speaker 2 (34:56):
I saw a little bit of the previous song and
then when they got into that and I was like, fuck, dude,
he's like changing his fucking singing style and ship, I
think he sounds better on recorded. I mean, you know,
I'm just being honest, life, he sounded okay, like going
with the whole papa and you know, like he you know,

(35:16):
Ranny did his fucking you can tell, dude, like this
song like just came out that same day, so they
probably recorded it like what fucking week before some ship
probably and then sucking Randy throwing his shoes out into
the fucking crowd, so fucking sick. Oh yeah, fucking punk rock, dude,
punk rock.

Speaker 1 (35:34):
So the next one we're gonna talk about. Uh, this
is probably the highlight of the episode. This is young Blood.

Speaker 4 (35:41):
Oh so he's part of super group A young Blood. Yeah,
he's part of He was part of the first supergroup
which oh, by the way, Tom Morello also is the
one that organized all he organized all the bands.

Speaker 2 (35:55):
So he was he was.

Speaker 4 (35:57):
Yeah, so pretty much like the supergroups organized both A
and B supergroups as well as organizing like I guess
the bands, the sets and all that. So because like
I was just forget when I was reading it, buddy,
because it was a I think it was an interview
with Sharon and him, and Cheryl was just saying, yes,
we when we got when we asked Tom to take

(36:19):
you know, take the rain on setting everything up greything,
you're ready, like he did. Tom did an amazing job.

Speaker 1 (36:25):
He killed Tom's favor guitar players, Randy Roads. I know
that that's not something because people don't make the connection
between Rage and Randy Rhoads because he's not that kind
of guitar player, but his favor guitar Roads.

Speaker 4 (36:35):
But well, I guess we'll we'll get to Jack Black
in a bit, because there there is a Tom's son
and ian son from Anthrax. They did they they both
they both play with Jack Black rock Yeah, and they
h what was the song they.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Did, Mister Crowley, Mister Crowley, which was fucking big.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
But they but like prior to them showing the video,
like they both kids came out and they did a
little like you know, but for the first supergroup just
since we're going to get into you know, young Blood.
They they did five songs. They did an Ultimate Sin
which was Lizzie Hail from.

Speaker 2 (37:21):
Hailstorm Ultimate Sin is an aussy song.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
Jakie Lee, Mike Borden, David Ellison and Adam Wakeman and
no Betton Court. The second song they did was a
Shot in the Dark. That's where they had a drave
David Draymond when he got boo, they.

Speaker 1 (37:40):
Got we're going to talk about that before we stopped
get into young Blood because we got to.

Speaker 4 (37:46):
Then there was so sean Dark, Dave Draymond, Jakie Lee,
Mike Burdone, David Elison and Adam Wakeman. Third song was
a Sweet Leaf, which David Draymond again, New Mike Borden
and David Ellison and Scott Ian actually came out on

(38:08):
that one. The fourthfong they did was Believer, which was
with a Whitefield Crane, Frank Bellow two from Sleep Tooken,
Scott Ian you know, bett In Court and Adam Wakeman again.
And then the fifth song was with young Blood Changes
young Blood you know Benning Court two from Sleep Tooken,

(38:28):
Frank Bellow and Adam Wakeman.

Speaker 1 (38:31):
There's a sick lineup, positions crazy, so uh, before we
get it the Young blows, Let's get some ship off
our chest real quick. Uh fucking David m oh my god,
he have been there is a choice this year. He's
very dislike war.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
Pigs and you have davidman On, come on.

Speaker 1 (38:50):
Well, he's a fantastic I think he's a great singer.

Speaker 2 (38:53):
He's a phantom, not to take away from his like ability, but.

Speaker 1 (39:00):
But no, it's it's when you align yourself so hard
with a political situation, you're gonna get a reaction. Whether
the crowd loves it or not, you're gonna get a reaction.
And unfortunately for him, he's very pro Israel, which we
I don't want to get into politics on foreign nations

(39:21):
and all that. We're not we're not that kind of podcast.
We're not gonna We're not gonna get that. But I'm like,
he's like, I don't know why everybody hated me, motherfucker.
You were signing the bombs that were dropped a year later,
like the bombs that were dropped that he signed dropped
a year later. I'm like, the killed people children, And
that's why people are booing you because yeah, and you're

(39:41):
you're just so tone def you're not getting it. To
shut the fuck up.

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Why as a person that doesn't follow the news or anything.
I had no idea while he was getting booed. Oh yeah,
and so actually Julian was on They reach out to
me and told me about it.

Speaker 4 (39:57):
I had to look it up when we were I
remember Tony had said something earlier in the chat and
I was like, what the fun he got boot at?
So I'm like, then, my one of my friends asked me,
what's going on? Why did he get boot I'm like,
before that was looking yeah, yeah, fuck yeah. I mean
anyone would.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
But I mean essentially, when he signed those bombs, he
didn't know they were going to be used really.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
But sure, But why why do this is it wasn't
America that dropped those bombs.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Well, I'm just saying, like they weren't gonna keep him
David's autographs.

Speaker 1 (40:34):
They're use that ship again to just say we are
not going to take a side on the podcast about
any of that ship. We are just our political ideas
as far as podcast goes, as fuck Trump and I
think the four but well, I don't know about you,
but the three of us are in alignment.

Speaker 3 (40:51):
Of that hell Megatron.

Speaker 1 (40:56):
But you're you're Hell Kanye. I guess that's Kanye, don't
say religious wars.

Speaker 3 (41:06):
Yeah, but yeah, peace through tyranny.

Speaker 1 (41:10):
I don't want metaology to take a position on foreign affairs,
but what I will say is this, when you do
ship like that, you're gonna get. You're gonna get.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
And I get it.

Speaker 1 (41:18):
He's Jewish, I get it. He has family there. You don't.
You don't need to do it, man.

Speaker 2 (41:23):
Especially for what the day was supposed to be about.
Keeping that ship out of it, dude, you know what
I mean, like like you're you're interrupting a fucking flow,
a fucking vibe. You know it's supposed to be about
Aussie and Sabbath, and then like you have fucking I mean, the.

Speaker 1 (41:38):
Thing is that he is so politically hot right now,
so for him to show up to do that, they
had to, Like fucking tom Morello should have known.

Speaker 2 (41:45):
Whoever brought him on, should have thought about.

Speaker 1 (41:48):
Tomorrow, should be like, you know what the night Twitter
kind of hates him right now. Maybe this is not
bring him.

Speaker 9 (41:56):
That.

Speaker 1 (41:56):
Now we have a memory attached to the show that
it's it's a any topic to talk about, but it
has nothing to do with Aussie, which is David Jermaine
got booted for his political beliefs. Everybody else who got like,
you know, praise, it all had to do with Aussie.
They gave tribute on great performances. David Germaine got booed
for being pro Israel. We're not gonna make take a

(42:19):
position here, but so so moving on, fucking man, we're
gonna talk about the highlight of the show that I
have never seen. Okay, as somebody who is adamantly against
metal heads and gate gatekeeping and metal keeping, gate gatekeeping.

Speaker 2 (42:39):
Keeping all the gaze.

Speaker 1 (42:41):
Pride week too, So yeah, so we want to be
gate keeping gatekeeper, but as somebody who's completely against all that,
I have never seen the metal community come together so
much for a person who has nothing to do with
metal music. Then seeing all the praise Young Blood got
for that was insane.

Speaker 2 (43:01):
Ellison I saw his podcast after kind of look a
little and he was like, He's like, honestly, I didn't
know who he was, but like we were fucking blown
away in the fucking rehearsals and ship.

Speaker 4 (43:11):
I also heard him the Young Blood did give like
Ozzie a gift prior to.

Speaker 3 (43:16):
Ive seen the video. Actually, so a while back Ozzie
gifted him a gold Cross. I forget where he did.
You know, Assie met him give him that, and now
young Blood wanted to return the favor, so he met
up with him the day before the you know the show,
and I see the video was really like, you know,

(43:38):
heartwarming and.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
Because it's so emotional.

Speaker 3 (43:41):
Dude, like he gifted Azzye a necklace too across and
it was it was a really nice moment, dude. It
was you know, and he was saying, you know, he looks,
he looks up to Ozzie and all that, and it's
like it's kind of like a surreal moment, dude. Like
and like I said, I didn't know about this guy whatsoever.
But when he covered a song, dude, I was like,
oh ship, dude, Like fucking so, I'm gonna play.

Speaker 1 (44:02):
I'm gonna play my favorite young Blood some to give
you guys an idea of where he comes from, like
his his style. But yeah, I do that video, man,
Like I I was. I was, I had a little
tear because my thing was it was him kneeling down
next to Ozzie's chair because he's a tall motherfucker too,
kneeling down Assie chair and he's holding Ozzie's hand. He's
just holding Assie's hand like he's like holding his grandfather's

(44:24):
hand like, and then Ozzie just like whatever you need,
whatever you need, you let you let me and Sharon
know and we'll take care of it.

Speaker 2 (44:30):
You let you let us know, just like that kind
of camaraderie. You know.

Speaker 1 (44:34):
It was just so so beautiful.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
To see fucking welling up just thinking about it.

Speaker 1 (44:39):
So this this so now I'm gonna destroy it because
I know you guys, I don't know destroy it. This
is oh wait is this it okay? So because I'll
play parents, So this is young Blood, this is uh parents.

Speaker 4 (44:59):
Oh I've heard.

Speaker 6 (45:02):
I was born in the mess up Century. My favorite
favorite sweets are raspberry at every sixteeth with because I.

Speaker 10 (45:12):
Don't like.

Speaker 3 (45:27):
So.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
He's kind of part of like the new kind of
like the m g ks and like the pop singers
are going rock a little bit right, trying to get
what you know what. Anyway, So we're gonna play changes.
And this is actually the live version that got released
to which is probably I haven't heard it, so we're
gonna play it right now.

Speaker 12 (45:52):
I love, I feel unhappy, I feel so shad.

Speaker 6 (46:13):
I've lost of this friend I ever had. She was
my woman, out of her soul.

Speaker 2 (46:28):
I love how they pray is there but it's too day.

Speaker 6 (46:31):
Now I've let her go.

Speaker 2 (46:40):
I'm going there.

Speaker 12 (46:43):
Change, I'm going there are changing.

Speaker 6 (46:57):
Each show.

Speaker 2 (47:01):
Sorry anyway with this woo all this part that's far shi.
This is the iconic part that starts going off.

Speaker 10 (47:22):
Yeah, what about the.

Speaker 2 (47:35):
Crowd sign to fuck there you go? What was that dud?

Speaker 4 (47:54):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (47:59):
Who's drummer?

Speaker 1 (48:00):
Was this?

Speaker 2 (48:01):
Yoku hand?

Speaker 12 (48:14):
Time?

Speaker 3 (48:15):
Second? It was off?

Speaker 6 (48:25):
Shut up?

Speaker 2 (48:32):
He has a crowded in his hands.

Speaker 6 (48:37):
Change it tooks soon.

Speaker 2 (48:55):
Part crying the jury.

Speaker 4 (49:00):
Because now.

Speaker 1 (49:11):
This is probably my new favorite cover.

Speaker 4 (49:13):
It's like.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
The whole night Dude, that was definitely the best cover
anybody did.

Speaker 2 (49:19):
Yeah the year.

Speaker 4 (49:21):
Also, I forgot to mention this Adam Wake was is
also the one of the rhythm rhythm and pianists for
Ozsy for Ozzie's band as well, So yeah, he was
like I forget what albums he was on, but he
was like one of the o G people with Jakie
Lee as well, Like.

Speaker 2 (49:41):
You know, yeah, I have him fucking play piano parts,
you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (49:46):
So that wasn't the o G crew. That's the second lineup.

Speaker 2 (49:49):
Second that's cool. That is the second school lineup was
I don't know what that was, but yeah, I know
it makes sense.

Speaker 1 (49:56):
I mean it's early, it's still early awesome, Like j
Lee is like you know Mark at the Moon, Yeah,
was that that was?

Speaker 2 (50:04):
It was.

Speaker 1 (50:06):
Who's jac Le?

Speaker 4 (50:08):
He did?

Speaker 1 (50:08):
It was bark because no Raddy did and Direv mad
Man and that was it. So yeah, j Le was
Bark at the Moon.

Speaker 3 (50:17):
Did too.

Speaker 4 (50:19):
But but I mean it's just great that they that,
like the you know, the the members of Past you know,
have come fucking still play if they can.

Speaker 2 (50:28):
You know exactly fucking j Lee didn't get paid what
he was supposed to do. But anyways, anyways, so we're
gonna start.

Speaker 1 (50:37):
We're gonna talk about the big moment of the night
as he taking the stage, Ozzie taking the stage. Now,
uh from what I so, first it was Sabbath and
then it was Ozzie himself, right, Okay, cool?

Speaker 2 (50:51):
Cool?

Speaker 1 (50:51):
So so I guess we'll talk about the Aussie set
first because the big moment was my mom coming home.
That was a big moment for his set.

Speaker 2 (51:00):
What's another fucking tear jerker too? Yeah? What really?

Speaker 1 (51:03):
Because I was watching it and I'm like, dude, what
really hurt? And I'm like, fuck, dude. Was Ozzy couldn't
sing it very well? He could, he just couldn't, but
I get it. But but he like the crowd was.

Speaker 2 (51:17):
Singing with him. Yeah, and that was like they were
like fucking help, like spare bomb, you know, like they
were giving him his fucking energy to like fucking keep going. Yeah,
he did the best.

Speaker 4 (51:30):
Yeah, even like you could and you could see like
at certain points he tried to get up. Yeah, he
wanted to get he wanted to get the but he
was like.

Speaker 2 (51:41):
I was like he was like that old dog saw
the ball and just I gotta go. I gotta get
the ball. I can't, I can't.

Speaker 1 (51:48):
That's how That's how it looked. Like he just wanted
to get up and rock.

Speaker 2 (51:51):
And you can tell he was like also like emotional,
like like fuck dude, like he finally got what he wanted.

Speaker 1 (51:56):
Is like fu yeah, yeah he got to close this
chapter play. So this is the clip of Mama coming home.

Speaker 6 (52:05):
Giant Church, Giant the Church.

Speaker 4 (52:09):
You go go fine, said.

Speaker 2 (52:14):
Mama coming home back wild By s Zach's helping.

Speaker 12 (52:29):
Mama com in.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
You did me.

Speaker 2 (52:43):
Thanks, still pushing pushing.

Speaker 9 (52:49):
Oh yeah, Joe, say.

Speaker 1 (53:01):
So, it's just a very very beautiful moment. Are you crying?

Speaker 2 (53:04):
Are you crying right now? I had to stop. I
had to stop.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
Beautiful moment, crazy Yeah, really makes you feel some ship, dude,
it's the end of an era. That's the last time
you got. We got to see it here live.

Speaker 2 (53:21):
Am I the only one that's seen Ozzie live?

Speaker 3 (53:24):
You guys have never saying I never got to that's
so like, I'm like, dude, I gotta get this, I
gotta I gotta stream this. This is my last chance
as close as we get to live. I never got
to see him.

Speaker 1 (53:34):
Yeah, regrettably, so, uh well, what I loved about that
moment too, is Zach's right there, like Zach is like, no,
I got you, I got you. And when I saw
Zach get all my because normally when Ozzie please moment
coming home and just him, I was like, oh, that's
gonna help out, like.

Speaker 2 (53:52):
Fucking man. Yeah, I mean like that moment, like if
Randy was alive, you know, like they would have been
fucking I don't know, because they're they're both important fucking eras,
you know what I mean. Like jak Lee fucking Zach Wild,
fucking Randy Roads. It's like it would have been cool man.
But I like the video they did for for Randy, where.

Speaker 4 (54:13):
Like, oh yeah during the solo fucking uh for what song?

Speaker 2 (54:21):
I don't remember when I had It's probably one of
the Randy songs. Yeah it was. It was. They just
had like a little quick video montage.

Speaker 4 (54:26):
Just yeahr and the solo was going like the in
the middle screen that they had. It was just they
had like a mont Randy doing like his solos and
like that.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
Yeah, because if it wasn't a Randy, Like I have
a very strong opinion on this. If it wasn't for Randy,
Ozzy would have never had a solo career. Randy was
so pivotal of that first record and the iconic riffs
of Yeah because Ozzy. But when you think of Crazy Train,
what do you think of? Do you think of, you know,
we're going out the rails of a crazy train? Or
do you hear it Dona? No, no, no, no, no no.

(55:04):
What's like the first thing that pops in your head
when you think the Crazy Train? Most people, yeah, it's done,
you know. And or Diary of a Madman, which is
one of my favorite, like a beautiful song dark.

Speaker 2 (55:17):
But that's Randy.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
I need to write none of that ship right. So
Randy was pivotal in the in Ausie having a solo career,
so it was it was it's it's good to hear
that he gave some tribute to him to us, he
gave him a moment. So we're gonna play Sabbath. We're
gonna close out the episode the last time talking. This

(55:40):
is not the last time we're talking about Sbbath. But
this is Paranoid was the last song pod. I thought
it was gonna be iron Man, but it's kind of
cool that went out with Paranoid because it's a little
faster kind of bang.

Speaker 2 (55:53):
Uh. So this is Paranoid.

Speaker 12 (56:00):
Song.

Speaker 4 (56:00):
Pretty he.

Speaker 13 (56:03):
I just want to say to you a little bhamas
the guys in Black seven by myself fan, your support
over the ears has many all possible for us to
live a life stogy.

Speaker 9 (56:15):
Than keep the BA.

Speaker 2 (56:17):
I love you and about you, Okay, I can't forget
about Then he's a song called Paranoid. Yes, I haven't
heard it. He suck So you think that was flann

(57:22):
Yeah for him to like because they cut that ship
cut that song down immensely, Like when Zozzie comes in,
the drums come in, it's like, oh ship, this is
like shorter. I'm gonna tell you why. I'm gonna tell
you why. I can only assume, Well, why do you
think why? I assume. I assume that they fucked up,
like bill Ward came in in the wrong time, and
then he just came in a little earlier. Nah, you

(57:45):
think like do we No, let's let's lets all the reason,
let's bring it home.

Speaker 4 (57:50):
I just think it's because they didn't have it in
him to do the full song, to do a full
set like that.

Speaker 2 (57:55):
You think it was pre planned from like the Yeah,
it was.

Speaker 4 (57:57):
Pre planned from rehearsals. It was like Ossie not even Aussie.

Speaker 2 (58:02):
I'm uh.

Speaker 1 (58:06):
If you like so you you were listening to it,
you could hear bill Ward is it's like a drummer
who's tired.

Speaker 2 (58:13):
Like hitting the hardest he can. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (58:18):
Yeah, but it's not like how it used to be,
Like his age is showing and is playing, but everybody
is too. Like you can hear Tonyaomi. He's he's not
in time very well. But it's not because they're bad,
it's because they're old.

Speaker 4 (58:30):
They're playing it.

Speaker 2 (58:31):
Yeah, they're playing it much slower than normally expect.

Speaker 4 (58:34):
They can't, they can't do it anymore.

Speaker 1 (58:36):
And this is I think this is a glimpse into
all of our favorite bands, like what we're all going
to be going through again and in the next ten years, Metallica.

Speaker 2 (58:44):
Mega, Corn.

Speaker 3 (58:48):
Don't even.

Speaker 2 (58:51):
Yeah, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (58:51):
I don't think Randy's gonna want to want to go
out like this. I think Ranny's gonna I think when
at sixty years old, I'm fucking done.

Speaker 2 (58:58):
I'm not doing the last show. I'm done. He just
he just starts playing like punk rock bands and ship
like that, keeps going like the band stops. But like
I feel like he's gonna show up at a pub
and just fucking thing punk rock song.

Speaker 1 (59:10):
Yeah, I think I do that. But I think Randy's
just gonna do the whole book thing, the book tours
and the spoken word. He's That's what he's gearing up
his career to do. That's why he's starting to do.

Speaker 3 (59:21):
A lot more.

Speaker 1 (59:21):
This is a lot of photography to photography, So this
is all stuff he's gonna be doing after music. So
none of these, like Love of God, I don't think
they're going to be right or die. I think we
got like another few years left, love my God, before
Randy's like, hey, I'm out, like I'm gonna go enjoy
the rest of my life before I get too old.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
To those fucking jumps. Can't be doing those jumps anymore.

Speaker 1 (59:40):
Because he loves surfing. He loves surfing, so he's got
like a lot of stuff he likes to do. And
the older he gets, the less enjoyable he's gonna be
able to.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
But ye have agreed, like our bands that we love
now there there, it's gonna be. It's gonna be that way.

Speaker 1 (59:53):
This is this is the window. This is the glimpse
in a few years. This maybe not to this level.
This was a very epic scale. Yeah, ran skill.

Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Because they say that because they hadn't Black Sabbath and
Ozzie hadn't toured in they hadn't played a show in
like it's been years.

Speaker 2 (01:00:09):
Yeah, it's with Bill Ward, it was like twenty years.

Speaker 1 (01:00:12):
Yeah, I mean Ozsi himself has not been on stage
in I think about ten years, maybe a little more
because I think the accident happened in twenty seventeen, twenty eighteen,
so it's been close to ten years since he went
through that, let alone took a break from playing live. Yeah,
so Ozzie himself hasn't been on stage in a long time.
I assume the rest of the band as well.

Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Yeah, very so. Yeah, it's like.

Speaker 2 (01:00:37):
It's it's sad, but it happened. It's sad, but it
has to happen, and I'm glad it happened the way
it did. There's no other fucking way it could have been.
It was well executed in the end, and the bands
fucking okay. Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:00:50):
So somebody asked, like, what why do why do older
bands don't do this more often? Well, metal hasn't been
around that long as far as like how rock music.
The most recent I can think of his Kiss probably
and Kiss is still fucking going.

Speaker 2 (01:01:03):
And they're still going. Yeah but dig yeah digitally, which
is fucking weird.

Speaker 1 (01:01:09):
But you know, when when when you think of what
Sabbath is, students like, dude, this, like I said, this
is a glimpse into what all these other bands are
gonna do. In ten years, Metallica probably will be the
same way. Metallica probably will have like the the next
big big thing, because that will be fucking human in tears.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
What Mega Death fans don't like metallic.

Speaker 4 (01:01:28):
Mega don't have that.

Speaker 1 (01:01:31):
You won't have, you will not be you will not
be welcome.

Speaker 2 (01:01:36):
At the next screening. He is a Mega Death fan
and he's not a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:01:42):
Here. Me and Baji will be inside the stadium being like,
we'll be holding hands.

Speaker 2 (01:01:47):
You're gonna be in Birmingham, Birmingham, We'll be in San Francisco.

Speaker 3 (01:01:52):
See right now what you're talking about. I feel like
that ship hit me when I seen Slayer play, when
I seen tom A Raya up there, dude, I'm like, fuck, dude.
The last time that I seen them to you know
that day, I was like, dude, like age man, that's
something none of us can avoid.

Speaker 2 (01:02:07):
I can avoid it. Sure, he's about a drink it
right now, some youth right now. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:02:14):
So, like, one big regret I have is not seeing
Slayer on their farewell tour, not going up to LA
and seeing them.

Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
It doesn't matter because they didn't do a farewell anyways.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
They came back.

Speaker 1 (01:02:24):
They needed money.

Speaker 2 (01:02:25):
I catch him on a festival, but Carrie King.

Speaker 1 (01:02:29):
Needed to fun his new project.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
Yeah, OK, you'll get another chance, I hope many festival. Dude,
they seem to pop up from ton of time.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
The only thing is I feel like I got to
travel to go see them. They're not going to come
to fucking I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:02:42):
I I do think that maybe LA when they know,
because Slayer is very money oriented. No, no, no, I
don't want to.

Speaker 4 (01:02:50):
I don't want to see opinion.

Speaker 1 (01:02:52):
I'm trying to make him feel better. Slayer is greedy.

Speaker 2 (01:02:56):
They need the money.

Speaker 1 (01:02:57):
That's fine. This is a this is a business.

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
It's a bit.

Speaker 3 (01:03:00):
No, it's tom Rio doesn't want anything to do with
it now, He's like he's done you.

Speaker 9 (01:03:06):
No.

Speaker 1 (01:03:06):
I I think that when they need the money, they're
gonna do it. It's it's it's their ATM. It's like,
oh I need a couple of mill Okay, let's go
out on tour for Let's do like a six tour
date or let's do six six shows. I do think
that there will eventually be a farewell to actual fair
world tour Slayer, that you'll have another chance.

Speaker 2 (01:03:24):
I wonder if they're getting like lucrative offers from you
know what I mean, they're like.

Speaker 1 (01:03:27):
Oh yeah, all right, I don't want to because they're
worth a lot, right, don't you want to see them.

Speaker 4 (01:03:32):
I just I don't feel it's gonna be the same.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
Dude. I would love to see him just because like
they got Gary Holt in there and due his solos
and like his fucking right arm, fucking impeccable. Dude, I'm
glad they got him.

Speaker 1 (01:03:44):
What do you mean the same? It's because they're older.

Speaker 4 (01:03:46):
I just I don't know, it's just it's not good.

Speaker 2 (01:03:49):
You don't like the dude.

Speaker 3 (01:03:51):
When they played, uh they went, what was it? I
think it was random blood to fucking angel to death.
Fucking I lost my ship.

Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Dude.

Speaker 3 (01:04:00):
That felt so like I had goose bumps, Like all
right during that much love boys, but we're not talking
about Slayer.

Speaker 1 (01:04:07):
We're talking about You're right, Ozzie's done, Get on the
Slayer layers next, beautiful, beautiful show.

Speaker 2 (01:04:16):
Overall thoughts, overall.

Speaker 4 (01:04:17):
Thoughts fucking great, like just overall, Like there was a
lot of just a lot of like the musicians just
came out to support fucking you know, they did this
all in their own time, like I said before, so
it's all you know, they didn't get paid nothing, So

(01:04:37):
just all these musicians showing up to pay tribute to
Ozzie Black sabbaf It just.

Speaker 7 (01:04:45):
It.

Speaker 4 (01:04:45):
It added so much greatness. And then oh and then
after after the show, fucking uh, Wilson proposed to Kelly.

Speaker 2 (01:04:57):
Sorry we forgot to mention that, but yeah, so that
happened after the show, and that was a beautiful moment too.

Speaker 4 (01:05:02):
Yeah. So it just like it was just like a
bunch of beautiful, beautiful moments just coming to.

Speaker 2 (01:05:06):
Get a liberatory and just family. So I'm gonna ruin it.
I'm gonna ruin it.

Speaker 1 (01:05:11):
I'm gonna do what I do best.

Speaker 2 (01:05:13):
I'm gonna bart some con it. I'm gonna run the
best to what I do.

Speaker 1 (01:05:16):
He's fucking dying, Rudy Ozzie is dying. He's down, he's
down the road. I give it two years.

Speaker 3 (01:05:22):
I didn't say that.

Speaker 1 (01:05:24):
I would not be surprised if he died later this year.

Speaker 3 (01:05:26):
Nude.

Speaker 1 (01:05:27):
No, I'm not trying to put it on him. It's
just like, dude, like you.

Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Know, it's crazy. What's crazy. Theory's gonna kill him, that
they're doing the assisted suicide and like they're going to
like fucking Norway or some ship and like yeah, like
I don't know, I heard it from like a a
coworker We're not even a fan of like that stuff.
What I'm like, is this TikTok theories.

Speaker 3 (01:05:48):
Yes, Kelly Osborne came out and said that it's totally
fucking fake.

Speaker 2 (01:05:50):
Yeah, okay, cool, Yeah, But no, I think I think
he's dying.

Speaker 1 (01:05:53):
He's got Parkinson's, he's old at ship, his immune system
is shot, he's he gets sick once he's screwed, because
that's why he's been so fucked up. His muscles are gone,
like he has like there's nothing left, Like all it's
gonna take is one one really bad flu Mark my
fucking words, that's how bad it is now that now granted,

(01:06:16):
I say that not because I want that to happen.
I say that because I'm very I think as a fan,
because Ozzy was one of the first pieces of rock
music I ever gotten to. The essential Ozzie Osborne TV
was my bible for a few years. I say that
because I feel so fortunate that we got to have
this moment, because a lot of artists, like I think,
like ninety nine percent of artists don't get to have

(01:06:36):
this closing of a chapter. I think Johnny Cash that
was the last one that I remember that had something
like this and Elton John and that was it since
middle school. Those are the only other two that I
remember something like this happening. You know, where Johnny Cash was,
he was also at the end of his road. I
think he passed away six months later. And Elton John, well,
Elton John's not dead, but he can't he can't do

(01:06:58):
it anymore. His fingers can't play and his voice is
almost gone. But I'm just I'm I feel I think
it spends. We're very fortunate to have this because most
of our favorite bands were not going to have this.

Speaker 2 (01:07:09):
We just won't have this.

Speaker 1 (01:07:10):
People are gonna die in natural causes, drugs, accidents, right,
This was a very, very beautiful, fortunate situation that we
got to have. So if Ozzie passes way later this
year or next year or in the next five years,
we hope knowing that he got to close out his
story correct and then it's a beautiful story book ending
and he got to, you know, right off into the sunset.

(01:07:33):
And he's a legend now. He's like this semant like
if he wasn't a legend before, which he absolutely was,
he was a rock metal legend he is now, and
he also means an icon. He is now one of
the greatest entertainers of all time because of this concert.

Speaker 2 (01:07:46):
He from day one to the final day. If I
from the fucking two thousand years from the future you know,
or from you know or from the fucking past, doesn't matter.
And then I saw this fucking glorified farewell to this
human being and this group. I would have been like, dude,
are these gods? Like I say, gods? Everyone's kneeling before them,

(01:08:11):
you know what I mean? So all it's the respect
you know, of legacy. I don't know, man, it's emotional.
I'm just gonna go ahead and close my statement out. Well,
I have one more thing, yes please, well not no,
you can finish, but it's gonna be long, so kind
of yours.

Speaker 1 (01:08:27):
Well, I want to So we normally do this at
the beginning of our episodes, and we did have an
Ozzy episode some years back before we started doing the playlist.
I would love to hear what a new playlist would
sound like. Normally we'll do this at the beginning of
an episode. I want to do this at the end
of this episode as a final retrospective of Ozzy how
we've enjoyed him as an artist. And as fans. So

(01:08:51):
I want to know from you guys, how were you introduced.

Speaker 2 (01:08:54):
To Ozzy Osbourne? God, that's perfect. Who wants to go first?

Speaker 3 (01:09:00):
I'll go first, Rudy will go forward. I remember back
when I was young ass fucking little kid going to
fucking football games, which I will never fucking do now.
I'm not into that. But I heard Crazy Train, and
I remember I heard that song, dude, like in the
middle of the game, like you know, they're hyping you up,
and I just got so drawn to that fucking like

(01:09:20):
they get tired, dude, that riff, and it got me
into like searching who the fuck that was? You know,
but Crazy Train was what got me into a Yeah,
it's the first song I ever heard from him, and
that shit sounded an amazing dude.

Speaker 2 (01:09:33):
Got it so true?

Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
That was me?

Speaker 2 (01:09:37):
Who's next? In fact, it depends on background. I got it.

Speaker 1 (01:09:41):
I got the perfect song too. I wanna play my
favorite Azzie song, Yeah, behind.

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
You make it a tear trigger because we're barely holding on,
We're barely read all right for me?

Speaker 4 (01:09:58):
I guess I think it was Crazy trainers vote like,
I forget where I heard it. I was just like
driving somewhere. For I was somewhere, I don't know where exactly,
but then I just I heard I heard that iconic
fucking dundn't and I was like, what the fuck is
this and heard the whole song through, and then you know,

(01:10:19):
it was on the radio. I forget where, but it
was on the radio because then after they were like,
and that was crazy trained by all the other Okay,
so then you know, through the power of the Internet,
I discovered his music.

Speaker 3 (01:10:32):
Gotcha through.

Speaker 5 (01:10:36):
I don't say that allegedly the power of bear share
allegedly allegedly, So for me it would I don't know
when it happened, but I was a fucking little kid,
and you know, your uncle's are like into something and
then they just fucking grab you.

Speaker 2 (01:10:55):
And like my uncle would like he he fucking loved drums,
like ever had one that I remember, But he was
just a drummer, Like I could. You could just tell
when someone's like really paying attention. So he picked me
up as a kid, and I'm like, he's playing me
like I'm playing the drums and ship and it was
always fucking Ausy the def Leopard, you know, Pyromania, all

(01:11:15):
that shit, Like, yeah, they were into that. You know,
they were young, and I think it's thanks to them
that like black, uh they were lessened too black soub
with more like azzy you know that kind of style,
the hair glam. You know that they were super into that.
So thanks to them, dude, Like it was just Ozzy
was just always part of my fucking childhood, whether it's

(01:11:37):
like you know, crazy trained that intro fucking it just
gets you hyped as a kid, you know, And I
remember even as a kid, just as far as shaping
like my taste, I guess I remember when the after
that tend to ended and and then then you know,
it gets like I always felt like that I did
not that I didn't like the song, but I felt

(01:11:59):
got happy. Yeah it's someone like I wanted to get
dark or some sh no, but yeah, dude, So for me,
it's just I'm grateful for him to have been intwined
since the fucking little baby I was. I was. You know,
when you're like born into a religion, you know, I
was definitely born into fucking hard rock at least, uh,
you know, metal would come later, saying thanks to my

(01:12:20):
big brother.

Speaker 1 (01:12:23):
Yeah, so when I got into rock music, Ozzie was
one of the first. I discovered rock on a five.
I discovered that's where I can listen to corn and
all that because all the first means I got to CORNIBISUS,
Lincoln Park, POPA Roach and like, I'm not even X
was like the first station, and I was like, but
this is kind of like chill, like there's some hard rock.
But and I discovered rock on No. Five to three
here in San Diego KGB I mean not KGBGB is

(01:12:44):
one of one point five, but discovered rock on A
five three. And I remember the first time I heard
Crazy Train, I was like, what the fuck is it
all about?

Speaker 4 (01:12:52):
Aha?

Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
Donna? Donna?

Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
And it was that year I started learning how to
play guitar, and that was the first riff I ever learned.
Was I didn't want I didn't give a shit about
the Donna, Donna dunb like that the bullshit. I want
to learn that, And to this day, that is still
one of my warm up riffs. I don't do exercises.
I played riffs and two riffs that I play to

(01:13:15):
this day since I started playing guitar to now that
I warm up with is that crazy Train riff, and
I'll play it as fast as I can with like
Triplets and all that ship and then No More Tears,
which is my another one of my favorite as songs
because it helps me with my squeels. The impact of

(01:13:35):
the essential Assis parn CD even as a song like
this song for example, like just made me fall in
love with songwriting like I because I think like the
first AUSSI songs were like cool, like these are like
gimmicky songs.

Speaker 2 (01:13:47):
These are fun.

Speaker 1 (01:13:48):
But then like the more introspective ship this song Believer,
no Easy, no Easy Way Out, Direvit Madman, like those
songs that had such a big impact. I was never
too big into mister Crowley. I was never too big
into Blizzard of Oz.

Speaker 2 (01:14:05):
But now that was like more like theatrical. Yeah, it's fun.

Speaker 1 (01:14:09):
And then when I was like, god, damn this song
fucking like I remember the first time I got done
by a chick and I listened to this song and
I just felt.

Speaker 4 (01:14:16):
I'll see on either side.

Speaker 1 (01:14:19):
This was like the song and I adore this song
and maybe a fan of Zach Wild opened my mind
up to so many new musicians. Robert Trulo before he
joined to Ozzie, I knew about Robert from way back when. Yeah,
Mike Borden, uh Faith no more, you know, uh, Robert Castillo.
Zach Wilde was a huge, huge influence on me. You know,

(01:14:42):
I can go down the list, like I'm just such
a huge fan of the musicians he plays with, and
he has such a great I don't I don't know
if he knew how didn't picked them. I don't know
if he hadn't picked them or Sharon did, like you
that one, but Randy, like Randy was the coolest mother.

Speaker 2 (01:14:58):
They definitely brought on like they I didn't just bring
on just you don't just bring on anybody, you know
what I mean, like like the fuck man.

Speaker 1 (01:15:04):
But I think even to like, as you know, me
outside of a metal guy loving media like the Osbourne's,
like I know, like people, oh well that it kind
of fucked up his image, but it introduced metal to
so many people. So many people got in the middle
because of the Osbourne's, and so many girls related to Kelly,
so many guys related to Jack, so many teenage boys

(01:15:24):
related Jack. And you know, Ozzie's like this like bumbling dad,
but then like every almost everybody has bumbling dad sometimes,
you know. And it was cool to see like him
going on touring behind the scenes and then Battle for
Osca's even though that was like very short lived. Like
for me, that was like my first like insight into
touring because I'd never had DVDs where I'm watching bands
behind the scenes and shit. So watching Metal for Oscus

(01:15:46):
is like, I want to do that, I want to
do I want to be on the road, and I
want to be in a band, and I want to
fuck around. Those things had very important roles to me.
So I'm very happy that Ozzie got to close the chapter.
I think he should have done it. No, I don't
think he should have done it. Am I glad he
did it. I am glad he did.

Speaker 2 (01:16:05):
Just put out a statement like, hey, I'm done, thank
you for everything. I would have been okay with that
swipe nine cards.

Speaker 3 (01:16:12):
He's too big not to do it. Yeah, yeah, you know,
I think. I mean yes, for health wise reasons. I
understand your point of view. But if he didn't do this,
I think we would have something that we didn't get,
you know, that farewell.

Speaker 2 (01:16:27):
Which I mean closure you know, and we never knew
we needed.

Speaker 3 (01:16:33):
When do you really get closures from your favorite bands?
You don't and This is like I'm gonna make a
Marvel reference. This was his Avengers endgame. This is when
everybody shows up. He's right there beating down.

Speaker 1 (01:16:44):
He's all I can't move, you know, he's all fucked up.
Oh yeah, I don't know English dudes, Za brother Zach
on your left, and then everybody comes out and that's
how he My god, it was. It was the return
of the King to his Lord of the Rings story.
It was that epic final chapter that now everybody's got

(01:17:08):
a big news story to tell about Ozzie, a giant story,
not just know oh he bit the head off bats.
Everybody's got this beautiful story of all these wonderful musicians
coming together, everybody filling up that stadium, and everybody's there
loving him and supporting him. And that's just a very
beautiful storybook ending.

Speaker 2 (01:17:24):
And I'm so happy he could have it.

Speaker 1 (01:17:26):
Yeah, I'm saying, don't knows a real bot, but yeah,
before I start crying, All right, guys, So that's it.
That's anybody else have anything to say?

Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
Are we done?

Speaker 4 (01:17:36):
Trying to think of anything else? Like, I mean, I
think we went over most of the highlights. I mean,
there isn't much really.

Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
I'm surprised slip Knot wasn't at least a member too
played with it.

Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
Oh yeah, No, there was a members in a Mastodon
and they played.

Speaker 2 (01:18:01):
Motherfucker you said, Craig Jones.

Speaker 3 (01:18:03):
Noolloy wasn't cussing. He was. He played drums there.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
I mean, I saw there's a picture of him standing
in front of He was there, but he didn't play.

Speaker 4 (01:18:14):
Though he played, they did the Master at the end.
They when they did then they did like this whole drum.

Speaker 3 (01:18:24):
He counts he's part of the not now, but I
don't remember.

Speaker 2 (01:18:28):
There's that picture of him standing in front of bill
Ward and bill Ward's like without a shirt on.

Speaker 3 (01:18:32):
He's trying. Yeah, I've seen that. Yeah, you're right, but
I guess I didn't remember him playing.

Speaker 2 (01:18:40):
Not there. Yeah, I think slip knots slip Knot is
that flag right now, Slipnot is the the metal band
like they are. They're they're those guys.

Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
So did not have those guys such a such a shame,
I'm sure. I'm I'm fairly certain that it's because they
all have giant ass busy schedules. Yeah, a fucking rock star, right,
like there's something going on.

Speaker 2 (01:19:02):
Due he would have command here that.

Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
But I feel like Stadium sid should have been like, hey, guys,
come on, you know well was there for from your dad?

Speaker 4 (01:19:16):
Steven Tyler was also there and he did retirement. Yeah
he did too. Tooth it sounds good, walk this way,
whole lot of love and train keep keep it rolling.

Speaker 1 (01:19:30):
You didn't do dream on, but yeah he did those
he did.

Speaker 4 (01:19:36):
He killed it though fucking killed.

Speaker 2 (01:19:39):
Killed it, still had it, still has it all right, guys,
are we done. We're going to close the book. We're
gonna close the I can keep talking about it all,
keep going.

Speaker 1 (01:19:48):
There's a reason why we we decided to do this
two weeks after the fucking thing.

Speaker 2 (01:19:52):
Honestly helped kind of gather my thoughts about it, because, yeah,
it was just like a lot happened in eight hour.
It's it's all of it.

Speaker 1 (01:20:02):
They're gonna do the cinema.

Speaker 2 (01:20:04):
Ten hour just announced with behind the scenes kind of
like embedded into it.

Speaker 4 (01:20:11):
I just the one thing I hope is that, you
know what. One thing that was really cringey was all
like the thank you videos they would play. I don't
know if you in between, like bro, some of them
were fucking cringe like like there was this guy just
looking like he had no soul in his eyes. Thank

(01:20:33):

Speaker 1 (01:20:38):

camera put in his face. You soul his dick, he didn't.

Speaker 4 (01:20:44):
Have a bro. Some of them were cringe and it
wasn't just me the Rudy and Alex pointed out.
