Speaker 1 (00:09):
Live coverage from the Las Vegas Grand Prix. It's Formula
one in the United States. You're listening to Michael Patrick
Shields radio stations across the state of Michigan and worldwide
at amibig show dot com Detroit. A man owns a
place called The d It's a hotel in downtown Las
Vegas and the circa Derek Stevens, and we thank him

(00:32):
for hosting us. And that's our Michigan connection to come
and get our FireKeepers on in Las Vegas. And if
you can't make the race, you can still experience Formula
one thanks to a brand new entertainment venue and it's
at the Forum Shops at Caesar's and Kim Shoot is
here to tell us all about it. She is the

(00:54):
US vice president of marketing for what's called the F
one Arcade Las Vegas. Thank you for being here, congratulations
and welcome to the program.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Thank you so much for having me.

Speaker 1 (01:06):
This is great, twenty one thousand square feet of entertainment
because well, F one has a big footprint around the world,
and for people who can't be there to experience it
that week, they want to still connect when they get
to Las Vegas on something that exciting and you're going
to help them do that.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Oh yeah, for sure. I mean we have the ultimate
way to connect with the Formula One. We have all
of the Formula one tracks that you can race on.
You get the full experience. It's the same kind of
glitz and glam that you would expect from any Formula
One race, but it's every day.

Speaker 1 (01:41):
It's a simulator. Then you have you that you climb
into when you come in, right.

Speaker 2 (01:45):
So it is a simulator and it's one of the
it's not just like you're you're sitting in a car
like you would in any sort of arcade. Everything is
like the seat actually moves, and so it feels extremely
immersive and everything was developed to make you actually feel
like you are driving this F one track.

Speaker 1 (02:05):
So you probably buckle in and then you can pick
whichever track you want, including Las Vegas.

Speaker 2 (02:12):
So we do have Las Vegas available right now, we
don't have the ability to pick the tracks. It's a
random it's the random teams a random track, but that's
something that we're definitely working on. And we have eight
of the tracks. So Las Vegas is our newest one,
which is extremely exciting and is available in Las Vegas Venu.
So if someone is there for the Grand Prix this week,

(02:34):
they can for sure try and get to that Vegas
track and see the strip and do it themselves.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
I guess F one Arcade would be the only place
that you can legally drink and quote unquote drive.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
True, you won't hear me quoting that, but we do
have a full service bar, incredible cocktails.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
All of our cocktails are created the winner of Nelix,
Netflix's Drink Masters and uh so they're all created by
someone named LP and she is absolutely incredible. They're very interactive,
some of them light on fire and spark and ones
in a car. They're all very insta worthy.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
And so this is an it's essentially kind of like
a nightclub or a day club or a restaurant and
bar built around the theming of Formula one and the
ability to ride, I say ride drive the simulators.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
Absolutely, and we have five different levels too, so it
doesn't matter if you're someone like me who has never
even tried to drive anything like an F one car.
You know, we we start from rookie and go all
the way to expert, which on expert you act you
have to actually shift on the steering wheel like in
the real cars. So there's it's really friendly for anyone

(03:57):
who's noviced all the way to include expert on Formula one.

Speaker 1 (04:03):
Have you ever been in a race car other than
the simulator?

Speaker 2 (04:08):
I have not, but it is one of them. It's
on my bucket list. I have to make a call.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I don't know. I think probably F one Arcades version
is a lot more convenient and probably safer. You are
going to open, as I understand, F one Arcade locations
around the world over the next five years. Are there
others in existence also in addition to the Las Vegas?

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Oh? Yeah, So we have five in the United States.
So we have Boston, d c, Denver Vegas, Philadelphia, and
then we're about to open Atlanta early next year, and
then Chicago will be in the summer of next year.
And then we have two in England, one in London,
won in Birmingham, and then we're about to open in

(04:55):
Madrid next year.

Speaker 1 (04:58):
How do you explain the popularity of Formula one racing?
Because it's it's a very It's a sort of a
Champagne international crowd, isn't it.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
So it is? Yeah, I mean it's I think it's definitely.
The people that tend to follow Formula one really like
that glitz, glam, you know, like that fabulous kind of
thing about Formula one. And I think that's what we've
really taken into account when we've put together these venues
and this experience so that you can really feel that

(05:27):
and it doesn't see it feels very authentic to the
Formula one experience.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
You will have. I imagine also events at the F
one Arcade, not just individuals coming in, but corporate outings
and gatherings and parties and that sort of thing.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
Oh. Absolutely, so we do everything from bachelor, bachelorette parties,
corporate events, team building. It's really fun because people can
just jump in and out, and as I was mentioning earlier,
you don't really have to be even a Formula one
fan to really enjoy it, but it does add and
make it a little bit more exciting.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
F one Arcade, Las Vegas, and it's in the Forum
Shops at Caesar's, which to my memory was sort of
the first notable shopping experience in Las Vegas that set
the tone, didn't it.

Speaker 2 (06:15):
I mean, I think so, And just the quality of
everything in the Forum Shops, I don't think we could
have found a better location.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Yeah, you've got there's a Joe's Stone Crab, and of
course Gucci and all the big brands and restaurants and
so forth. And when you start to put all that together, well,
Formula one fits right in.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
It really does. And honestly, you know, the spot that
we have is so great too, because you can reach
it from directly from Las Vegas Boulevard and pull up
directly in the valet area to our doors, so we're
right on the I guess you could call the front
right on Las Vegas Boulevard. So it's a really great
spot for us.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Oh, I know that entrance, I know where that is,
and of course you can easily get lost in the
Forum shops in the Caesars complex. But that means that
I dare say, if you're at F one Arcade, Las Vegas,
you will be just about able to hear those cars
zooming right by during race week.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
Yes, I definitely think that is a fair possibility. You
should be able to hear a very loud and.

Speaker 1 (07:17):
Clearer So if you're going to any of those cities
you just heard about, or Las Vegas and you want
to experience what it's like to be behind the wheel
of a Formula one car and do so and have
a good time. F one Arcade, Las Vegas and even
in London. You can all over the country, all over
the world, but this is the Las Vegas Strip and

(07:38):
if you go into the forum shops, the ceiling looks
like a sky and you're in for a very good time.
Do any of the drivers ever show up at F
one Arcade?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
So we actually have the official after party this coming
Thursday for the event, and then we also might have
a guest appearance on Tuesday, but I'm not allowed to
say any names quite yet.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
After party. Now you're talking on thirsday, Well, we look
forward to how many would you have to wait a
long time to get in a simulator? And do you
pay extra for that or how does that work? Just
so somebody knows when they.

Speaker 2 (08:13):
Come, so typically they are we encourage reservations just so
that you can make sure that you get your simulator.
It is for come for serve if they're not all
reserved for this weekend, particularly Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday brunch.
We have ticketed events. So it's just a little bit
different than it typically would be but just for a

(08:35):
typical reservation whos go online and book and then you
have your your area with your group.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Do it right there at F one Arcade and you
can be in all those places virtually thanks to the
creativity and the dynamic experience you have waiting for us.
And happy race Week.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
Yeah, happy race Week.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
Thank you so much, Kim shoot F one Arcade with
Michael Patrick Shields. Tony Couver will be there too.

Speaker 1 (10:01):
It comes to healthcare costs, we often focus on one thing,
our insurance premiums. But what if we're only seeing part
of the picture. The truth is our health insurance costs
reside downstream at the end of the cost equation. But
to really understand what's driving up costs, we need to
look upstream to the healthcare system itself. Upstream, there are
costs like the price is charged by hospitals and doctors,

(10:24):
and the cost of prescription drugs, healthcare administration, and technology.
These costs flow downstream directly into your health insurance premium.
That's why Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan is advocating
for a system wide solution to address the rising cost
of healthcare. Blue Cross knows that healthcare is personal, needs
to work for everyone, and affordability matters, and that starts

(10:47):
with shedding light on the entire cost equation from upstream
costs to downstream premiums. Want to learn more, visit miibludaily
