Speaker 1 (00:07):
Well, it was fun to see Kim Montague from albert
conno minute ago, and I had to shake myself and say,
wait a minute, am I on Mcina Island. That's where
we usually ser her are at the Detroit Regional Chamber
Policy Conference. And now Megan Spanitz takes the radio stage
through our AT and T lines here at the Godfrey Hotel.
It's Michael Patrick Shield's visit Detroit. Is welcoming us here
(00:27):
to the city this week. She's the chief operating Officer
and chief strategy Officer for the Detroit Regional Chamber and
we say happy holidays to you, and we're happy to
be here in the city.
Speaker 2 (00:38):
It's been great to hear you broadcast from Detroit all morning,
and you've talked about it some really great assets to
the city.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Very sweet of you. We spent yesterday in the lobby
of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Broadcasting at Lafayette
there right across from the Greek Town casino and in
the middle of that district, and had a lobby full
of people back to work in person, and it was
very sweet to see you. Released last week your theme
for this upcoming Macinaw Policy Conference. Would you like to
(01:06):
share that with us.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Please yes. This year the theme will be a quest
for common Ground. We just believe that as Michigan emerges
as a purple state, that there should be an opportunity
to find common ground on the issues that matter most
to move the state forward.
Speaker 1 (01:25):
Quest for common Ground, I have it right, yep. And
that's sort of the mission of every Detroit Regional Chamber
Policy Conference on macanaw, isn't it well.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
I think the mission changes at EDMSOM flows. It's really
driven by the chair of the conference each year, and
this year the chairs by Brandy from Henry Fort Health.
And you know, we've had some memorable themes like the
Power of End the Quest for common Ground. We're going
to do some programming a little bit different where we
will have almost like a debate style on key issues
(01:59):
and having you know, representatives from the left and the
right and moderator that will really prompt them to come
together and find the items within an issue that we
can find come and ground. One.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
You are very well traveled programming, You're a very well
traveled person. You've been all over the world. If I
wanted to lunch like Megan's spanis in downtown Detroit. Where
would I go?
Speaker 2 (02:25):
Park? I am grateful that our office is right across
the street and I can be found there often.
Speaker 1 (02:32):
It's called Park m all right, there's the tip from
the top, Megan span It's at the Detroit Regional Chamber
of Commerce, who has been all over the world and
works in the city of Detroit and lunches at Park.
We'll see you on Macanov, not before
